Nebraska Brewing Company Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

NBC produces some of my favorite beers to date. It may be, in part, that I can't get certain other beers in Nebraska. I am OK with that. Support local beer and business. I think NBC has a hit with every one of their beers. Each style is just as I expect it to represent. Since I am a hophead, I tend to go for HopAnomoly and Cardinal Pale Ale. HopAnomoly used to be called HopGod, but somebody else had that name. stupid I know. It is definitely cheaper to change than it is to fight. Most recently I came in after the great Nebraska Beerfest so I was technically in the area. I had a pint or two of really great beer and ran into folks that I had seen throughout the previous hours. Short and sweet, I prefer the original location over the the newer digs at the Wester spot.

Come for beer, don't stay for food. For the second time we took our chances by stopping for a bite to eat. Conveniently located but the food is worse than a bad chain restaurant. You'd think someone with such a good menu of beers would want to support their brand by pairing them with a nice dinner. I had the "Giant" Taco Salad which consisted of a half-size salad on a giant deep fried shell. It was even more comical when I ordered Wings and they came back with Rings. I think the plate consisted of 5-6 grease-soaked rings, about a half a large onion. I had no idea onions were so expensive! My fiancé also had a salad which was soaked in dressing and contained chicken that appeared like it had a black, fish-like coating. She ate it and both of us had a stomach ache by the time we got done. After paying more than we should have, we left unamused...

Oh NBC, how I wish to enjoy you, but alas I can not. I visited this brewery shortly after it opened and have given it many chances, but it's just not that good. We recently moved back after being stationed in Colorado for four years and finally made it back for a trip today. I'd really hoped things had changed, but it was the same as ever. I'll start with the service. Now, you really can't judge a business based on one individual, but at the same time you kind of can. The girl who served us was sweet, but really should have been kept at the hostess stand. I think she was overstretched as she was running back and forth between the patio and the main dining room, but even then she really wasn't ready to be a server, and management should have known that. I really don't want to get into all the details, so I'll just highlight a few. Brought out our food precariously and barely got the jack stand down without dropping it. She set a tray with six items on it only about two-thirds of the way onto the stand. I watched nervously thinking our food will fall, but not wanting to shatter her limited confidence. She actually managed to get four items passed out before she pulled that one from the middle and left the one hanging over the edge, which of course made a beautiful flip and crash. She said she'd get us another, but.... At one point the manager finally came by and noticed we didn't have the item and asked if we still wanted it. Everyone at our table had already finished so we said no. Of course she delivered it a couple minutes later. We asked for mustard for my daughter's burger and I finally had to get up and find it at the server station myself. My wife managed to get up and round us up some silverware and napkins from another table, which was nice, but I kind of wish she didn't have to. So yeah, you get the idea. Prior to moving the food had always been mediocre. At best. And let me say, they have kept with that tradition of mediocrity. The beers. Well, I'm really surprised that they've done well enough to sell their beer canned in the stores. They're not bad, they're just not that good. I've made better beers from a kit. Granted, coming from the motherland of craft beer, where brewers and breweries are everywhere and therefore have to stand out I may be a little jaded. But the beers just aren't that well balanced. I really really wanted to have a great experience today, but I had the same experience I have come to expect here. The Nebraska Brewing Company is a celebration in mediocrity and I honestly can't imagine how it has so many positive reviews.

Waited 12 minutes for service. The waiter or waitress never appeared. A table that was seated after us was served before we were. Was not a busy night; very confused at terrible service.

Can someone please teach this company some customer service. Went in about 7:30pm for some beers while my wife got her nails done. Basically if you're not a regular you can guarantee bad service. Sat down at the bar for 3 minutes before the bartender acknowledged me. Sat with an empty beer glass for 5 minutes before he asked if I wanted another. As I said before, great beer, mediocre food and the shittiest service in town.

Made a special trip to Omaha for a weekend to do a tour of some of the craft breweries in town. This was the first of the trip. Cool location in a new commercial/shopping district in Papillion. You don't see that many outdoor malls this far north and unfortunately the day we came here is the perfect reason why. It was 10 degrees and windy out but we weren't there for shopping. Really liked the layout of the place, it was open and inviting and had an upstairs sitting area as well as the ground floor and the bar area. We opted for the bar. Had a few TVs up front showing sports but you won't confuse this for a sports bar. We had a dinner reservation elsewhere later that night so decided that an app would be good to tide us over. We ordered the sticky ribs which came out as five nice sized meaty ribs slathered with their house cherry BBQ sauce. As I stated, they were meaty and also tender, I also dug the cherry BBQ sauce. The beers were decent. I started with a standard ale and then moved on to a special coconut IPA that they had on cask. The ale was so-so but the coconut IPA was very good with a lot of hops and a satisfying coconut aftertaste. I would have liked to try more but there were more breweries in our future so two was our limit. Service at the bar was also decent. Nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about. Overall a good experience and I would come back again when in Omaha.

Very clean, dry boring beers. Food and service were ok. Prefer Farnham house beers which are much more interesting. Difficult place to get in and out of...

We made a trip out here a couple of months ago. The food specials were only offered in the bar area so we sat there. The food options were good and everyone enjoyed the meal. My beer (brown ale) was really tasty.

Tried the NBC the other day, I didn't know it was such a sports bar, in the middle of the Shadow Lake Center. Their Farrell's Irish Red was the beer of the day so I started with that. It was a very nice Red, so my meal started off well.I thought I had the NBC Burger, but looking at their website menu I had the Chef Chad Burger, (Smoked Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Fried Leeks, Raspberry Jalapeno Jelly) which was very tasty (you need extra napkins), I expected it to have a little more kick to it, but the jalapenos must have been on vacation.. Next time I go, Ill make sure a game I want to watch is on. They have a special seating section with a big screen in the back. Oh yeah, and their cole slaw is fantastic!

Got the macaroni and cheese and a full flight of their beers. Bartender seemed completely uninterested in her job. Asked her a few questions and got short one worded answers back. Ended up having to ask her to wait to fill 4 growlers and take our food order really quick-- this was immediately after we explained how hungry we were and excited to eat. Food was fine. Nothing really to critique. Prompt delivery to table as well. Now the beer. Hmm. Its run of the mill nothing spectacular. I wouldn't go back for the beer. You can get better beer somewhere else. I'd go back for the food. If you're looking for something you can find in multiple other places, this is it! I will say though, its a very nice location, even if its in strip mall Hell :) its very clean and modern. Liked being able to see all of the brewery equipment.

I really like my lunch at Nebraska Brewing Company. It's in a great spot with a great atmosphere and selection of beer. I really like the fact it's right in the middle of Shadow Lake. There's so many stores and services around, it's in a great location. If you're ever down here you will want to at least stop by and check it out. It has a really cool upstairs seating area, some nice booths, a large bar, and a great outdoor patio. I am not really a huge fan of any Nebraska Brewing beers but they are all decent enough to drink. The biggest thing in my opinion is their support of other Nebraska breweries, like; Zipline, Empyrean, Blue Blood, Infusion, you get the idea. They serve lots of other Nebraska brewed beers on tap and in bottles. Not to mention their support for lcoal events like Omaha Beerfest, Benson Beerfest, and The Great Nebraska Beerfest. The food was actually pretty tasty. My cherry bbq bacon burger was great, just a little overcooked. It had great strips of bacon on it, onion strings, and gouda cheese. The fries were decent but could have given you a larger portion of them. Overall I was happy with the food, it was just a little overpriced. But, what do you expect from a brewery? I suggest giving Nebraska Brewing a chance if you're in the area. I think they have a solid menu and quality in their foods and beers.

Two stars is probably a bit generous for this place. The service is almost always slow. The food is lackluster especially for the price and the beer is awful. There are so many other options in the Omaha area with better food and drink options.

Our final stop on the way out of town was the Nebraska Brewing Company. Though out in a more suburban setting, a bit of a departure from our weekend in the Old Market area of Omaha, the outside mattered little once we were inside and seated at the bar. We ordered a flight and set about to sampling. Most of the beer was general mild brewpub fare -- though I did like the Infinite Wit a smidge more than average (and I complimented the clever name that I did not see duplicated by another brewery when I looked it up online (I'm looking at you, every brewery that has a beer named "Dirty Blonde)). I also though the pale ale and IPA were serviceable, and commented that the Nut Brown was "good, fairly bold brown flavor", so it has that going for it. This is the thirteenth of a series of 13 reviews about a weekend getaway in Omaha.

Nope and nope. Went here with my brother back in November, so he could try some local beer. It was near the end of the day on a Saturday, so it wasn't super crowded there. We walked in and the person "greeting" us, kind of halfheartedly directed us to a table. She didn't seem especially excited to see us. Her service never really got any better throughout the night. She wasn't totally having a bad night--she was chipper and friendly with a couple in a nearby table that had a ton of food and drinks (maybe they were friends/employees?). When we ordered drinks, there was some creepy older guy kind of hovering around her, who seemed to be giving her directions (maybe she was new?). My brother tried a few samples, and settled on a beer. We had been eating all day, so we just ordered an appetizer, the chicken nachos. They were pretty greasy, gross and not even that hot. Maybe it was an off day with the service, maybe the cook had already gone home, I dunno. But, there are too many places in town to get this kind of food and drink, so it's definitely not a place that I will return to.

Ok place, not my favorite beer selection. The list is good. I like a good lager and tried a couple , nothing to my taste. The service was good , our waiter was pleasant and tried to help us find the beer we wants. The ambience is good and decor as well . The place is clean and well maintained.

Beer was very good, but the food was well below what we expected. What was brought didn't match the menu, the French Dip sandwich was poor, and they couldn't make one of the menu items. Won't be going back for anything other than a beer and simple food like a burger or appetizers.

I have been here three times and will not be returning again. I love supporting local businesses but the food was not only undercooked (chicken sandwich) but greatly lacking in flavor. The second visit my husband and I wanted to give it another try and his burger was over cooked, which he was unable to finish. I returned the third time with my brother from out of state who likes to try new breweries, he too was very disappointed with the appetizer choices that tasted like the less than standard bar food. I gave this place two starts instead of one due to the beer that they have available at their other distillery location. It is tasty and worth purchasing.

LIke everyone else said the beer is amazing, but their recently revamped menu has their food tasting much better. Some of the other reviews are quite harsh for something out of the control of the restaurant, so you should definitely come in and experience the place for yourself and support a locally owned and operated place that was started by a military family.

Date night- my company was awesome (no you can't have him! ;) ) And it was so-so. I got the Rueben, and it was chewy, fatty, with not enough sauce and very sour sauerkraut. The salad was simple, but the greens were bitter at times and the bleu cheese dressing almost tasteless-I wanted to ask for more, but my salad was almost drowned as it was. The beer cheese soup was just ok for the first couple bites, then it tasted gross- the texture was curdled. My DH got the Cajun pasta and felt sick afterward, like he ate a boulder. As I'm typing this at home, my stomach still aches, and I only ate 1/2 sandwich, most of the small salad, and a few bites of the soup. The beer was good, Brunette Brown Ale, and the Strawberry Mead. Disappointed in everything but my company.

I've been here before for GNBF as a brewer and had way better service when it was crowded. This trip I stopped for some beers and food and sat at the bar. I was never greeted by the bartender when I sat down or given any menus. I was simply asked what I wanted. Meanwhile she proceeded to chat and tend to the locals at the bar while I sat with an empty glass multiple times. I must have inconvenienced her as this type of service continued throughout the night even when i was the only one sitting at the bar. The rest of the bartenders/servers seemed very respectful. Besides the service the beer was good as always and the sliders I had weren't too bad.

I hate to rate a local brewery poorly, but I have now given this place 3 opportunities and I've had enough. The atmosphere has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, in my 3 trips I have had only had 1 waiter who was knowledgeable enough to work at a brewery. On my last trip, I ordered the Rueben. It came out quicker than my beer. If you like your Rueben meat as chewy as jerky, I recommend it. Overall, the staff gives off a negative vibe that completely ruins what potential there is. I'm not going back.

Good food and good service on multiple occasions. Can never decide if beer batter or sweet potato fries are more delicious.

The food is not really that stellar. The beer selection is decent, but after three visits of being unimpressed with the food and staff (particularly the third visit), I am never coming back. Upon my third visit, some man in his mid-20s came into the restroom while I was in the stall and started lobbing wadded-up wet paper towels over the wall at me out of the blue. I yelled at him to stop and then got a glimpse of him when I peered out through the crack in the door as he was exiting. Once I was done in the restroom, I went out to the bar and confronted him. He basically acted like a snot-nosed brat of a kid and pretended like he had no idea what I was talking about. An employee (who I assume was a manger) intervened and asked him to apologize to me. He offered the weakest most insincere apology in the form of, "I'm.... sorry?" When I suggested she throw him out, she said she couldn't, like it was impossible. This made no sense to me, and so she started making excuses for him, saying it was clear he had been overdrinking, which now was basically her admitting that the restaurant was intentionally over-serving him, which is extremely irresponsible and dangerous. They also CONTINUED to serve him while me and my friends were there, so they obviously were aware and didn't care. It had been clear before the altercation that she and the rest of the employees knew this guy and were friends with him, as they had been hanging around his table all night, talking and laughing with him. So apparently that gave him the right to harass other customers without having to worry about being thrown out or facing consequences. I called the general manager the following Monday, and while she lent a sympathetic ear and agreed she would've thrown him out if she was on duty, she said she'd collect the facts and call me back. It's been three months, so I assume no action was taken and she ended up siding with her employees, which is unfortunate for her and her business. Over-serving customers is a complete embarrassment to their business, especially if these over-served customers are allowed to harass other patrons who are there to just enjoy themselves. If you want a better microbrewery experience, I would recommend Upstream, Lazlo's or Granite City.

Came here with a med/large group from work. Service was pathetic and food was so-so. Waitress was slow to refill drinks, did not bring things when asked (some BBQ sauce), delivered a wrong meal and was a no-show for the most part of our meal. The only thing that would have brought me back to this place would have been exceptional food. Therefore...I won't be back.

I'm sorry...but this isn't really a restaurant...it's just a place to get dressed up bar/pub food and beer and pay a little too much for even just that, There's way too many bars in Omaha with a great craft beer selection, and local brews than to waste you're time here. The food is "meh" at best....I went with a large party, and pretty much everyone (almost all ordered different things) in a group of 12 did not like their food. Forget the beer, there's just as good out there at many other places without paying $12-20 for crap food to go with it. Not to mention everytime I've been here (large or small group) the service is awful, having to flag down a waitress or waiter each time. 3 strikes you're out. If indeed you do want to venture here-- there is one positive; they do have pub trivia on a certain night (wed or thur I think). And as not many places in Omaha do that, that are not located downtown....I think that might be worth checking out if pub trivia is your thing. Yes, two stars-- the second earned due to having pub trivia night.

Good beer but the hosts are very immature and show their age. I don't think I will return to eat due to the service.

I really wanted to like this place as the location is great for a relaxing afternoon of lunch and light shopping. However, the service was horrendous. I forget our waiters name but we had him two times in a row (should have learned the first time). It was almost as if we were bothering him when we simply wanted waters with our beers! One of the times that we had gone we went early. We arrived about 15 minutes after their opening time and the doors were still locked. We began to walk away and the staff opened the doors. Sadly, it seems to be poorly managed and could possibly cost owners profit. The food was ok (a little greasy) but that is to be expected at a place such as this, so that was not an issue. Unfortunately will not return. Sadly there are not too many other dining choices in the area. I will take the extra time to travel downtown from now on.

Beer was good, however food was less than stellar. The coleslaw had ZERO flavor. My chopped salad was not chopped and was not worth the $8.99 at all.

  • Gregg S.

Food was average. Beer, same. Service terrible. From our seats we could CLEARLY hear the kitchen staff yelling at each other. We kept looking around to other tables after continually hearing kitchen staff dropping F-bombs. Won't be back. Terrible food and service.

  • Roy B.

The only redeeming value in this place is the beer. That's the only thing worth going there for. The food is absolutely awful. The service isn't far behind. The bartending, when you don't order beer, is pretty spotty, too. My wife and I ordered martinis one evening instead of beers and they put no vermouth in them and admitted as much when confronted about it. Why? "Because nobody expects vermouth to be in their martini". I swear I am not making that up! To add insult to injury, they had so much chipped ice in them they were like frozen margaritas! We've eaten here 3 times since it opened (very widely spaced out, I might add) and had a bad experience each and every time. That's saying something since the first visit was by far the worst. Another (somewhat minor) quibble. It's in a mall and the parking situation is not great. It's enough of an issue, though, IMHO, that I would have never located MY brewpub in this location. The beers are good, albeit very hoppy, and they have won some awards with some of their offerings. That said, they are in NO danger of winning any restaurant awards. Eat here at your own risk. On hot days, we'll go down there for a beer every once in awhile and that's it. Tragic because there are so few dining options in Papillion that aren't awful chains and it's a shame that one of the few privately owned options is so poor. If it weren't for the beer quality, I'd give this place the lowest possible rating. They don't get a flyer in my book just because the beer is good.

Our food was solid, standard bar good. He had a burger and I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich. Our waitress was friendly and responsive. We tried a beer flight. The beer was average overall, nothing outstanding, but nothing bad. Their bottled Reserve Series is better than the standard fare available at the restaurant. I would go back, but I wouldnt go out of my way to do so.

Went to Nebraska Brewery on a Saturday night, and unfortunately the service was terrible. My girlfriend and I had a reservation, but it didn't matter much. We waited 15 minutes at our table until we were acknowledged by the wait staff. Once acknowledged, the server had to search for a beer menu and silver wear. We both ordered salmon, which was tasty. However, the sides were very bland. After being told what the vegetable side of the day was, the server brought out something totally different. The beer seemed pretty good, but getting past the horrible service was just too much. I won't be back again.

Came here two years ago and swore it off, but got talked into going back again. Gave it a two star based on beer alone. Service was appauling! Sat with an empty drink for 20 min. Joiner came and she waited 15 to be acknowledged! Saw 15 tables there with about 4-6 people working, figured it would have been manageable.the food had pre cooked processed chicken and I felt the most personality we got from one of our 3 servers was when she gave us the ticket! It's been a long week and we just wanted a few drinks after a long day... Should have gone to Old Chicago and saved a few bucks!

I have to admit I was nearly dissuaded from visiting by some of the reviews on here, but I'm glad I wasn't. The reason I persisted was my previous experience with Nebraska Brewing Co.'s beers, which, from what I've had are, in my opinion, on a level above most other regional breweries (particularly Lucky Bucket and Empyrean). On this visit, I had their IPA, which I can say without hyperbole may be the single best IPA I've ever tasted--and I've had more than my share. It was a fairly high ABV, creamy, drinkable blast of hops that I've been craving ever since. The food was better than I expected from the reviews I read. I wouldn't say the restaurant would probably stand out on its own were it not for its pairing with the brewery, but definitely better than your average bar food (and better than a lot of reviewers on here are giving it credit for). I had a roast beef sandwich that was pretty solid, and I'm picky about roast beef. The seasoned house-made chips arriving before the meal were a pleasant surprise, and the portions were large. Plus, it's Shadow Lake; whatever else may be said about Nebraska Brewing Co., it's still one of the few non-chain restaurants in the area, and that's a plus in my book. If you're not there for the beer, I understand why Nebraska Brewing Co. might not appeal to you, but if you are any kind of brew fan, you owe it to yourself to visit, or at least pick up some of their beer.

Awesome looking brewery, decent beer, and unfriendly service. I had what I think was a chicken Caesar salad, although it was tasteless.

The food here is mediocre, at best. According to the waiter we had, their emphasis was on the beer, the food was secondary (seriously). I had the Cherry BBQ Brisket with mashed potatoes and a spinach cranberry salad. The brisket had been thinly sliced previously and, I'm guessing, reheated in a pan or flat top. The brisket was fatty, poorly seasoned/rubbed and covered in a bbq which was a little too sweet for me. The mashed potatoes were gluey and gummy. The salad was simply spinach with some cranberries on top, which would have been fine if not for the dressing. The dressing was way too sweet and tasted like sweetened, watered down vanilla yogurt. The service was less than stellar and out waiter forgot about our second round of drinks and was nowhere to be found. The beer was good, but I'd skip this place if your main focus is a good meal. Great beer, subpar food.

I have been here a few times over the past couple of years. I have always sat at the bar so I couldn't tell you about the wait staff. The beers are always enjoyable and the specialties are a treat when available. Most bartenders are familiar with not only their beers but most other micros and specialty beers. It is helpful to be able to have detailed conversations about the brewing process and unique aspects of brews. I have experienced a bartender or two here that seemingly don't even drink beer and couldn't offer you advice on their own products. This is slightly disappointing for a brewpub. The owners also roll up their sleeves and help out in various places in the restaurant. That is always a plus for me knowing that someone with a stake in the success of the place is there to keep an eye on things. I really enjoyed their local beers and tried all but 1 (the lightest pilsner). I think they give the Empyrean Brewing company a run for the money on taste and quality. I have not eaten here but my wife tells me their pulled pork sammich is the BEST she has ever had. while we don't live in the south, we are BBQ connoisseurs so I have to take her seriously on that. The place can get a bit loud when busy due to the layout. The loft looks like a cool place to have a group of friends hang out.

I had high hopes for this place, I love a good brewery. On the beer front, the selection is wide and diverse. I've enjoyed every single brew I've ordered, stuff from NBC and other local breweries. The food on the other hand, is subpar. Fish tacos are terrible, the NBC cesaer salad is terrible, the cheese bites appetizer is terrible, the best thing on the menu is the BLT. No complaints about the service. Unfortunately, the only reason this place warrants 3 stars is thanks to its beer selection.

NBC is a great brewery. There are other restaurants with better food if you're looking for a beer that just happens to be brewed nearby with your dinner, but if you're going out for the best available locally brewed beer, this is the place to go. Lived nearby the shadow lake facility for approx 5yrs and visited frequently... probably would've been cool if the brewer said hi just once since he was always there. Became a running joke after a while. Everyone else was always friendly and inquisitive on the customer experience, feedback and life in general. Can't knock the brewer though as long as he keeps kicking out NBC's sweet sweet brews.

There are some great things about Nebraska Brewing Company. The atmosphere, the beer - and great trivia nights. We go frequently with a big group for trivia. We all used to order dinner to have while we played, but the food, which was never great, has gone downhill. It's to the point where my group of 8-10 always eats at home before we come. It's really too bad - the restaurant is packed for trivia but I don't see too many dinner orders. I hope it gets better!

Will not fill my growler from another brew house in Cbus. Said it was against the law...something about if I got sick on the beer NBC used to fill it, I would sue(?) the Cbus place whose name was on the growler. I did not ask to have them clean it out...duh, I know how to wash a growler. I said OK knowing other would fill it at other locations and offered to buy a new one...but they had none to sell. This place has had good beer but very spotty food quality(may have gotten sick from food once here) and service. They make you pay for growler caps, too. Just a "heads up".

Service was garbage. I had to ask for utensils (after we were served and the waitress had walked off). I ordered the sirloin medallions and I was pretty disappointed when I saw the serving size. A quarter of the small portion was fat I cut off. Perhaps they could figure out a way to block the view of the kitchen for the ones sitting in the back? Yes...doors would work. Won't be going back there again.

This place was pretty terrible. The best thing was the beer, which was great. The curried fried pickles were soggy. My Cuban sandwich was pretty bland. The beer cheese soup was horrific but worse, when we asked the waitress what it tasted like she said she hadn't gotten around to trying it. Really? My kids meals were so bad they didn't even eat them. The frys tasted old & the kids pasta was disgusting. I hate to leave such a bad review because the staff was nice & the beer was good but the food was the worst. They could probably get more business if they only sold beer.

Amazing beer-! Wide selection that outshines traditional brew pub offerings. The "Hop God" is a wonder. The bisket was very good. Juicy, and well seasoned. The cheese curds were covered by buffalo sauce. It was a unique take on the midwest cheese curd culture. The mix of cheese and spice was just right. Yummy! Well maintained place with friendly owners with a passion for great beer. The trivia night (tuesday) was lots of fun. Well worth the stop!

The last time I was at NBC, I left underwhelmed and disappointed that the food wasn't anywhere near as good as the beer. After hearing that the food had improved, I finally made my way back this evening. The place wasn't very busy considering it was an hour before kickoff. That wasn't a very good sign. We were immediately seated right in front of the big screen. The first thing that I noticed was the revamped menu. The only new item that jumped out at me was the pizza. The first thing my wife noticed was that they didn't bring out the homemade potato chips. They do still provide them free of charge but now you have to ask. Unfortunately, they were way too over seasoned. The waitress said the pizza was phenomenal as long as I didn't get the spent-grain crust. Fair enough, I ordered the supreme pizza on the regular crust. My wife ordered the Drunk'n Chicken Strips and my father-in-law the Voodoo Burger. As an appetizer we ordered the onion rings. The rings were thick but the onions themselves were thinly sliced. They were cooked well and very crunchy. Unfortunately, the beer and the rings were the best part of the meal. While I thought the pizza was solid, it wasn't "phenomenal". The crust was fairly thin and the pepperoni is homemade. When I make my way back to NBC, I will likely order the pizza. My wife seemed to enjoy the chicken strips but like the pizza, they didn't really stand out. The burger was a frozen patty and it was probably the worst of the three meals. I'd definitely make the trip across town for the beer which may be the best in Omaha. The only local brewery that I like better is Lazlo's but that's mainly because they have better food. Having said that, I do think the food is improving but it still has a long ways to go. The best part were the rings, the beer, and the waitress.

The service was Excellent as was the food! I would definitely rate this a wonderful place to go eat or for a nice night out with friends or family! The drinks were delicious as well. I must say I was extremely impressed with the friendly staff! I will definitely be coming back again to try out more of your delicious food!

This rating is for the beer. I would rate the food 2 stars. We tried a flight of 6 different beers and really liked all except the seasonal Rye. The food was just average at best. I had the chopped salad and it was okay, nothing special. I use Untappd to track and rate beers so I won't go into detail here, I would just say the draw here is definitely the beer.

The beers are very good, but my most recent encounter with the bartender is making me give 1 star. All I wanted was a growler refill, this guy was so snotty when I asked to try 2 samples of the seasonal beers ( just in case I wanted a growler of one of them) after seeming like I was interfering with his afternoon of nothing, he obliged. I ended up asking him for a fresh fill of EOS Hefeweizen from the tap, and to rinse my clean growler just so it was extra fresh, he actually made a 'grunting' sound, rolled his eyes, and walked over to the cooler to give me a pre-filled bottle. I told him, I didn't want that one because I don't know how fresh it is, and I don't want flat beer. He interjected rudely that "He just filled them that morning!" Ok, whatever, I took it because my kid was antsy, and this guy was not going to take the extra step to give some customer service. Too bad their beer is good, and their staff and food are worthless. I don't think I will be going out of my way anytime soon to give them business at Shadow Lake. I will just have to enjoy the beer at places around town that serve NBC beers. Fire this guy! Before you lose more customers!

Excellent! Went there for lunch yesterday and enjoyed everything. I had the curry pickle appetizers which were amazing. Sort of like a tempura batter on it, and an amazing dipping sauce. I also had the infinite whit beer and the EOS hefeweizen and both were awesome. For the main course I had the andouille and beef burger--cooked perfectly and juicy! Paired with the beer battered fries it was amazing. My wife had the Maui wowie with grilled chicken. Overall I was pleased with all aspects. Service was good as well. Some unconventional pub fare but pulled off extremely well. I can't critique this part but a group came in while we were eating and the lack of host/hostess caused them to leave hastily.

So you're probably wondering why I'd go back to a restaurant that I just gave one star to last week... But I was convinced through a combination of excellent customer service and a free gift card. We tried the soup again, good, and allowed ourselves to be buttered up by the friendly service and free potato chips, I was even talked into the ladies night beer deal. But the warm fuzzy feelings stopped there. The food just wasn't up to snuff again, and was unfathomably plain. I don't know what the deal is, but when I have a mouthful of pizza and I'm not happy, somethings wrong. I tried the Thai chicken pizza and only ate one piece... I'm kind of a pizza fanatic, so that was unbelievable to me. I really wanted to try the salad I had last time, but was too afraid of a repeat experience to do so. I was disappointed again but was convinced by Eric B. to bump up to a two star for the great service and good soup... Even though when it was time to pay the check I found out there was no money on the gift card. Not a huge deal, but now I've eaten here and paid twice for meals I didn't enjoy at all. So at this point, I can honestly say I don't think any amount of incentive will convince me to try a third time. Follow-up edit: After diligent contact from the manager, there was no final response... the answers to my questions (why didn't the gift card work, will you give me a refund?) are unknown... Back down to a one. I'm not going back.

I've visited NBC on several occasions and find the food to be Below Average to Average. What keeps me coming back are the fried curry pickles! Give em a try!

I too prefer NBC over Upstream. It's a bit out of the way (since I don't live in Papillion or Bellevue), but we like to pop in from time to time for a couple of beers if we're in that neck of the woods. The service has been consistently good and they do a really nice job with beer. The food, however, comes up a bit short because it's been inconsistent. Almond Coated Calamari can be crispy and tender or greasy and chewy depending on your visit - same can be said for the fries. The chips have been great on one occasion but are typically over-salted - combine that with the beer and I'm puffin' up like a tick. Burgers and sandwiches have been cooked to perfection or way over done. Overall, there's a lack of flavor - it's missing that little oomph. The menu is great conceptually, it's just lacking in the follow through. Go for the beer. Skip the food.

Been here several times for after-work food/drinks. I enjoy their Wit beer, but the food is really mediocre. The steak and mushroom burger is steak and mushrooms ground up together, then (overly) cooked and placed on a giant, dense bun. Dry and dull.

Pros: Best microbrews in Omaha (Better than Upstream!) Cons: Not the best location, mediocre food I don't like making far drives out to places unless it's something that I really want and can't find anywhere. Last time I was home a friend of mine wanted to go out to the Shadow Lake Town Center in Papillion. I thought it would be a clone of Village Pointe, and it many ways it was. However, it did have a microbrewery and I wanted to give it a try, so we went in for some lunch and brews. Nebraska Brewing Company is the closest thing to competition Upstream has in Omaha. Many other microbreweries, like Jobber's Canyon, have come and gone without much of a fuss, but this place I'll be honest has better microbrews than even Upstream and Upstream's are pretty good. I was quite impressed, especially the EOS Wheat and the India Pale Ale. The beer alone made this trip worth it. However, the food is pretty mediocre. The cheeseburger was burnt and not the best I've ever had. I also don't like driving so far to come here. I'm sure people in Sarpy County don't mind, but it's just a little too far out of the way for me.

As I type my stomach is still grumbling - no lie. Hadn't been here in quite some time and drove out of the our way to head back. Our waitress promptly brought out the tasty crisp chips that have a bit of zip and salt - perfect to create a thirst with your fresh brew. My husband new what beer he wanted and ordered right away - my first mistake - waiting to order my beer. Second mistake - we ordered the "curry fried pickles." Our waitress was MIA, my beer apparently had been forgotten, and there was no curry anything about our soggy fried pickles. Our sandwiches were ok - my prime rib philly was seasoned well but green peppers were few and far between. My Infinite Wit beer (when it FINALLY arrived!) was lite and fresh and would have been tasty with our chips (can you tell I am trying to forget about the damn pickles as I truly think that is why there is a rumbly in my tumbly), Husband loved the IPA. Service - terrible. Food - meh - the best thing about our meal to me was the chips. So for that and the beer we might return.

We came here from out of town while visiting relatives over the holidays. The place has all the markings of a promising little restaurant in a great location. Sure, the brew-pub thing has been done before by a billion other people in every city across the country, but they're usually pretty dependable for good brews and delicious food. At NBC, we didn't try the beer, which, from other reviews, sounds like they know what they are doing. However, the food and the service needs a bit of work. Our waiter was like the guy in the movie "Office Space" who worked at Tchotchke's. A little too much energy with corny attempts at humor. For instance, as we were leaving, he said "You folks have a good day now and don't do anything I wouldn't do...and that list is pretty short, so that's not saying much, hahaha!" I'm with my 65-year old parents, my children and my wife. Did we really need that? I normally wouldn't be talking about this, but the guy did leave our drinks empty on the table for a solid 15 minutes after we had started eating the buffalo wings. What's worse than having your mouth on fire and nothing to cool it off with for a long stretch of time? I can tell you. It's eating the very bland food at NBC. A couple of us ordered burgers. They were massive. Unfortunately, they were very light on taste. The flavor was simply missing, as if they didn't have any seasonings or marinades in the beef before, during or after the cooking. C'mon, a little salt & pepper, a dash or worcestershire sauce...anything? Nope. Other people ordered chicken sandwiches which were fairly bland as well. Adding to the disappointment was how long we had to wait for the food to be brought out to us after we ordered it. The place wasn't very crowded at all, yet it took them 30 minutes to deliver our order. For the food to be so unappealing after that long of a wait was a letdown. I think NBC could be a great restaurant. They just need to hire somebody who can overhaul their recipes to get some flavor in there, and to figure out how to get food from the kitchen to the table much faster.

Worst service in a long time, it's turned me off from this place forever! Waitress didn't know specials, happy hour times, and chewed gum incessantly. Food was overcooked and greasy. In the end, I was overcharged (bottle of wine vs. glass of wine). Dissatisfied! Go to Old Chicago instead.

I was really expecting a lot more from this place. The "regular" beers on tap are average, nothing special at all. The good beers are all in 750ml bottles and cost a lot more. The place itself is ok but nothing special, it's in a big shopping center and just gave me a very "chain restaurant" kind of feel. Food was average, service was good, prices were ok. If I lived in the area I'd go back but definitely won't be making a special trip to get there again. Although I will think about buying their big bottles in the future for home consumption.

Food has consistently improved since opening. Current food offerings are very good pub fare. Burgers are fresh and appealing. Service can be a problem, but the food and beer are worth it. The handcrafted beers are the best you will find in Omaha - PERIOD! Get out and support your local brewery.

Service was horrible. We had to beg to get a refill on water and after 3 minutes of waiting to find someone after our food was served, I had to explore the restaurant to find the silverware at the front desk. Beer was good. Food was nothing special. Beef brisket was fatty. The sweet potato fries were good. Vegetables were dry. So would probably go here for drinks and appetizers, but would move over to Red Robin or something else to eat.

You are upstream...with better food and a spicey pizza challenge. Your cuban needs work though. If you offer a cuban sandwich, my perception of your resturant will held against the cuban sandwich you serve me and as you can see...your cuban was a 3...barely. You had good service and boy they were friendly and fun to be around...but that cuban was a sad, flatter excuse for a cuban compared to Gusto's or even Cheesecake factory's cuban. So bummer, but to me if you supply it, you will sink or float based on your Cuban sandwich. Eat up Minions!!

We've been to Nebraska Brewing before. Tonight was really quite disappointing. We went at 5 p.m. for snacks and a beverage. While my daughter and husband ordered brews, that NE brewing is known for, I ordered a chardonnay. After waiting they came back to say, "We only have 10 wine glasses and we're out, can we get you a different cocktail?" I said, "well, no. I want a Chardonnay." I asked for it in a cocktail glass, disappointed but still wanted my drink of choice. They "found" a glass and served it in a proper wine glass. Kudos! But the waiter really presented himself as not being very well trained. We ordered chicken wings and they were warm temperature at best. Flavor was lacking also. Finally, we ordered a regular cheeseburger to go and when we got home realized it was a hamburger patty, cheese and a bun. It was awful. No lettuce, tomato, onion ... all listed on the menu. Poor communication?? Who knows. Overall, a terrible experience. By the way, others around us looked irritated as well. Come on Nebraska Brewery ... you are a local establishment that we really want to support. Step it up and serve the customers.

Downgrading and here is why. First let me start by saying that NBC does have GREAT beer. There is certainly something for everyone. This was our third time visiting in as many months, and yet again, we had trouble with food consistency and service. From previous experience I knew that when we walked in, we would not be greeted, and would have to wait for a staff member to "notice" us waiting to be seated. After 3.5 min. we were "noticed" and ushered to our table. The table service begins with NBC's house chips which are again, hit or miss. This time they were way over seasoned to the point you couldn't eat them. Last visit, it was like eating fried potato with no seasoning. We ordered a grande nacho which fed four. Nothing wrong with that. Nearly a 10 min wait after we ordered our beers to have them delivered started off the service, and that was followed by multiple requests for lemon's in our water, and refills on our drinks. Not good. At the end of the meal, we saw our server, who had been given a break by the manager (unbeknownst to us) sitting down and eating his meal all while we waited for our ticket. Finally the manager came over and apologized. As it turns out, he actually took over our table. Hey NBC.... how about a friendly "I'm going on break and so and so is taking over for me."??? NBC does have GREAT beer. It is just everything else that seems to have gone awry. If you want NBC beer, find it at a different bar. Trust me.

This restaurant used to be a favorite of mine, but that has definitely changed. There is apparently a new chef and he has changed this place for the worse. They no longer have their signature cherry BBQ sauce which was amazing on just about everything. Their new "BBQ" sauce tastes more like honey mustard with some sugar and tomatoes. The peanut sauce for the Thai chicken pizza went from being the perfect blend of flavor and a little spice to being too hot for my wife to handle and more spice than tastes good on the pizza as it almost drowns out the other flavors. They used to be spot on with cooking their medallions but they gave my mother in law medium when she asked for well done, and when they redid the meal they didn't even give her the right dish. Also the buffalo cheese bites were overcooked. And to top all of this off the waitress lied about the number of people we had to try to get the automatic 18% gratuity. She probably tried to pull this because she knew she wouldn't get much of a tip due to the abysmally slow service. Not only that but when the manager fixed the bill she wasn't apologetic at all and seemed like she was upset that we had noticed in the first place. If I could give zero stars I would. This used to be an outstanding place to eat and it has plummeted in quality in three months to the dreadful experience we just had.

There were a surprising amount of noisy children in this place, but we instantly forgot about them after taking the first sips of our beers. Wow! We each tried the Hop God and the IPA, respectively, and ended up leaving with a growler of the Hop God. DEFINITELY need to try the 4-cheese pizza with their homemade grain crust. It was out of this world good! Our server was very busy, but she kept checking in on us and was very attentive. We will definitely be back if we ever end up in Omaha again!

Beers here are good but food leaves something to be desired. Burgers lack toppings and flavor but this is not what I wanted--they were out of that (pork tenderloin). The service was average at best. I really want this place to succeed because I like to support local places but the management really needs to step up the kitchen.

Okay - I've been here 3 times now with completely different experiences each time, so here's what I've got: 1.) If you're into breweries, this is definitely a place to visit. My husband is a home brewer and loves to try different places, and we've enjoyed the beer every time. Also, the head brewer did a spot recently on the radio show The Homebrew Network, talking about local brewing, etc. Seemed very cool - and supportive of small-time brewers, which we love at our house. 2.) If you're looking for pub food and not that picky, you'll like it fine. I'd recommend the Cuban and onion rings, which were both good. The pub chips and other tater-things tend to be over-seasoned and the pork tenderloin is gigantic, but not particularly different. Oddly - they seem pretty into curry as a seasoning. 3.) Service. We recently went for lunch and had a very attentive, sweet waitress, but the time before during dinner was one of the worst experience I've ever had. We sat on the patio (which is nice, btw), but we waited and waited to get drinks the first time, and then she completely disappeared until our dinners arrived... at which point everyone's drinks were empty, so we ordered our next round and then after waiting even longer we had to ask another waiter what happened to her and if we could get drinks and ketchup. It mostly stunk because we had people who were really interested in trying different beers, but she never stopped by to serve us. So - that's the reason for the A-OK. Great beer, pretty good food, hit-or-miss service.

The EOS Hefeweizen is 2nd to none and the onion rings are the best I've had!!! Sadly for the people of Omaha, it seems to be an unknown. Definitely a diamond in the rough!

This place is awesome. It has a great beer selection, the Nut Brown Ale was very popular in our house. You can buy growlers with cheap refills if you bring it back. I had the shrimp, my boyfriend had the steak medallions. Both were amazing! Great food! They serve chips as an appetizer at your table, and they are also very, very good. I think the only thing that keeps me from going there regularly is that they are a little expensive. Great service as well!

We had the beer sampler which was very good and purchased a bottle of the Barley Wine beer for $20, which was also quite good. The food on the other hand was a total disaster. Both meals we ordered were incredibly bland. The meat on the pizza we ordered tasted like taco meat. There is no reason why this place can't serve good food. Until they figure it out, they should stick with brewing beer and keeping pace with Lucky Bucket.

Went last night for a friend's going away party. the service was disasterous (but I think it was just our waiter, looked like everyone else's was quite competent). Great atmosphere for a group of people, good beer selection and plenty of menu variety. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger with sweet potato fries, which was decent. A friend got the Thai chicken pizza which is what I will order next time!! Huge pizza (definately for sharing), with a great combination of spice and crunch.

Even after reading the reviews, decided that we (my girl and I) would give this one a try. Figured at worse we could have a beer and then walk for a different meal. Started off better than other reviews in that we were welcomed and sat as we walked into the door. The hostess gave us our menus including recommendations for the meal and the beer of the season. Our waitress was right out also and took our order for a beer sampler. Being as it was our first time there, she was able to give us an explanation of each beer to include taste and brewing techniques. We decided to stay for dinner and each had a burger / chicken sandwich. Both were average to good and I really liked how I could choose to have the soup or salad at no additional charge! We didn't have a chance for dessert but I did like how a military discount was given purely by me showing my military ID as I didn't ask for one but was using it rather for identification on my debit card purchase. We would go again.

Sadly, like a dummy I didn't try a beer. They had several that sounded interesting, but without thinking I ordered an iced tea like I always do. My brain just wasn't working. The menu is pretty good, burgers and sandwiches at about $10 each are half the menu. They have 5 or 6 entrees in the $13-$20 range. I decided to try the crab fritters as an appetizer, and then the pulled pork sandwich as dinner. The staggering of orders was way off. After sitting about 10 minutes someone came by with a little thing of complimentary pub chips to snack on. 1 minute after that my appetizer arrived, and 2 minutes after that my sandwich. This is a pet peeve of mine getting everything at once. The crab fritters were okay, but missing some acid. The little cilantro lime topping they put on it didn't cut through the heat of the jalepeno or the heaviness of the dough. I liked the cabbage with it, but it tasted kind of bitter, whatever the dressing on the cabbage was didn't add much. Some vinegar or somethign on the cabbage would have been better. The pulled pork sandwich was a little chewy and the BBQ sauce (NBC's own BBQ sauce), was kind of blah. It was slightly sweet, but I couldn't taste much else from the sauce. It kind of reminded me of Lloyd's barbeque in the grocery store if you had watered down a tub of that. The normal side they give with this is fries. Since I don't like fries I substituted garlic mashed potatoes. Nice amount of garlic, but oversalted. The service was okay, they were quick to seat and take my order. Of course I already mentioned the coursing issue. They were also slow to make sure everything was tasting okay. I've said this before, I'll say it every time. I really believe when they don't ask if everything is okay it's because they know the food isn't great. He did come around about 25 minutes in to check in. I can't say it's awful, I can't say it's good.

They brew some good beer, that's for sure. And the food that we ordered for lunch was actually quite delicious. However, the service was just terrible. Our waitress was so dumb and lazy, a simple request for napkins left her daunted. She was slower than molasses, and obviously did not care a single bit about her job or our time restraints. It looked like she just rolled out of bed. It was so ridiculous and unbelievable that I left her $0 for a tip, something I have NEVER done before. She literally did everything wrong. Even all the way to the end of the meal, it took her ten minutes to bring us our check and then she forgot to bring a pen so I had to wait another five minutes for her to fetch one for me. I was ready to combust. My colleagues were so pissed off that there is no chance we will ever return here as a group for lunch, but I might give them one more chance myself. If I see her working there next time, I will walk right out the door. You know it's a bad sign when a different waitress walks over ten minutes after ordering your food and asks "Have you gentlemen been helped?!" I said "Define help".

Went on a Wednesday night. They were having some sort of trivia thing that was so loud you couldn't make out what they were saying let alone talk with your table. They were out of their Wheat beer, don't they brew it themselves? We both had hamburgers, my wife the standard and me ate steak burger. Both were dry and non distinct. The only good thing on the plate were the Saratoga chips (pub chips). Not worth the cost...

Basically the same review as everyone else... The beer was respectable, though frankly a little disappointing for lack of variety, and the food was average. Despite the luscious burger smell as you approach, the burger was actually kind of small and boring. The onion soup was pleasant, but also ordinary. I had good service at the bar though, from a server who was pretty knowledgeable about beer and able to answer some specific questions about their lineup.

wifes burger was tasty but my patti melt was incinerated. time from order to receiving food was about 30 minutes. I knew something wasn't right when we were told the kitchen help was shorthanded. then after the food was brought out I saw the cook peaking out, the waitress asked how everything was, the owner also asked, I even think some people that don't work there asked how everything was. Probably should have said something but didn't want to wait again. Can't see us going back when there are SO many other places that have good food and good brews. sorry but our first was also our last... I think I can truly say never again.

I read about a microbrew competition where Nebraska Brewing Company placed in several categories, and as a beer lover, I had to go try it out, even though it is on the outskirts of the metro area and a long ways away from me. We first got there and tried several tastes of different beers. They were all good. i especially liked the dark roasted coffee flavor in the nut brown, which are usually a little sweeter. The IPA had a great floral note from the hops, but was smooth at the same time. The pale ale was great as well. The food was average bar food. We got burgers that were fine. At least they were hand pattied, although overcooked when I asked for it not to be. I cannot stand burgers that are just frozen pucks thrown on a grill/flattop a la Applebee's. There was just nothing special about the food. I saw other's pizzas and they did not look appealing. The space was loud, but comfortable, just like any other brewpub. Our server was also the bartender, and he was good, even though he got slammed from a high school reunion. 5 stars for the beer, 2.5 for everything else. I just can't see myself ever making that drive again for beer that is not much better than I can get right close to me.
