Boule Artisan Bakery

880 W Ann Arbor Trl

Reviews:
Boule has been around a long time, and is one of the few superb craft bread bakeries in metro Detroit. They also have cookies, scones, muffins, banana bread and a few other items. From my conversations with the staff, this company uses high end/healthy/natural/organic ingredients and traditional processes to produce delicious artisan products. The prices are obviously higher than Wonder bread, but still seem quite reasonable for the quality. I'm guessing they bake several hundred loaves in 15-20 varieties every morning, and often sell out of everything well before the end of the business day (so make sure to call ahead or go early if you need something specific). Our favorites are Cheddar-Jalapeno, a few other cheese breads, salt and pepper bread, and the Artisan Boule...but every bread we've tried has been excellent to exceptional. Friendly helpful staff. Easy street or lot parking nearby.
Boule Artisan Bakery is very upscale, and you pay more than you would for bread from the grocery store, but it's fresh and tasty and worth the price. The shop itself is cute. They have a huge window front so you can see all the puffy loaves and cookies they have on display and watch the employees as they bake. They also offer free samples. On a recent visit, as I was walking in, a mother was walking out with her two young girls under age five. Mom was carrying a small bag with some kind of treat in it, and each of the girls was holding a small bit of the raisin bread that was out as a sample. The generally have samples of two or three different breads or pastries, and they invite you to ask what the samples of the day are. Besides big puffy loaves of artisan bread, they also offer big cookies, scones, and other pastries.
I have stopped in multiple times for their cookies. They are delicious! Get in early because they do run out fast. Polite and quick service. Prices are affordable.

Traveling through Michigan, we figured it was time for some ice cream! We fired up the Yelp app and it pointed us to this Dairy King. One of my favorite things about Yelp is is that it helps us discover new places. Sometimes we get really lucky and experience something completely unique and off our own radar. This review is about Dairy King but it is also about the amazing town of Plymouth, which it calls home. If you are familiar with the movie "Back to the Future", it could've been filmed here. There is an obvious pride in Plymouth and we witnessed it everywhere. The old art-deco movie house is in pristine condition and running newly released films. The town square was vibrant and alive with big band music being played by local non-professional musicians :-) The popcorn vendor was friendly and selling popcorn for a good cause. The entire town simply brought smiles to our faces. It looks like there are also many good restaurants that we look forward to trying out. We've marked Plymouth in our GPS and plan to return soon. Oh right, the ice cream, delicious! The shop creates some really cool flavors and has a perfect 1940's/50's vibe. Don't miss this town, and don't miss stopping for some ice cream to eat while strolling around :-)
This place was a must go when I visited my friend who lives in Canton. I got a small scoop of Butter Pecan Ice Cream in a waffle cone. The line inside was faster than the outside line. Lots of choices. Be aware that it is CASH only.
I got the cupcake and sprinkles flurry but the ice cream to sprinkle ratio was literally 1:1! The texture was horrible and the abundance of crunchies in every bite was too much for me. I threw it out after 2 bites :( every place I've ever been and gotten a cake batter flavored ice cream the sprinkles are super soft and undetectable. Not here :/ 1 flurry and one medium size cup of peanut butter mackinaw fudge ice cream (1 1/2 scoops) was almost $10 Also, the owner kinda had a funky attitude to the guy who didn't have cash since this place is CASH ONLY! One more thing, a poster off the wall fell on a pregnant ladies head- the only thing that guy said to her was "thankfully it was made out of foam" and didn't even apologize or refund her money. Would I come back or recommend them? Probably not

Great deep dish! The pizza is always constantly the same quality! The thin crust is also good once in a while!
This Jet's location gets it right every time. Great staff, great management and great tastes. How good is there pizza??? On Detroit Lions game days, I get the 8 corners pizza with pepperoni. I get a side of their amazing ranch dressing (I could detect Guernsey's Buttermilk in there, which is top notch) and could eat the whole thing......and I weigh 145 lbs, so that's a testament to how good their food is. The Jet's by my house does a really bad job with slicing their pizzas. This place knows a thing or two about proper slicing, so that's a plus. Love this locale!
The food is usually good from this particular Jets. I give this Jets 2/5 because of the employees. They are rude on the phone and there doesn't seem to be a manager or person in charge the times I've picked my food up. The overall customer service experience is poor.

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken

1122 Ann Arbor Rd W
Plymouth, 48170
Reviews:
THE best fried chicken joint in southeast michigan. The thin and zesty batter is fried to a crunchy perfection. I always order dark meat though. The chicken breast is too dry for my taste! Our family gets one of the bucket combinations to go and order the sides of mash potatoes, gravy and cole slaw. We make a pot of rice at home and eat everything up! KFC got NOTHING on Lee's! This is the place to go if you are craving fried chicken. :)
I have had Lee's twice- both times I ordered the same meal of Crispy fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. I enjoyed ALL of the food very much both times! However, it IS fried food. Once the enjoyment of the taste is over, the crummy feeling one experiences after indulging in fried goodness sets in. It is very small inside; The only option is carry-out and there are no seats inside to sit on if waiting for food. But the employees are very efficient with order-takin and making, and so the line moves quickly. It gets very busy on Wednesdays during dinner time, as they have a $1 off special. I like that the business has curb-side service for those who are handicapped.
Ok,, let's talk chicken,, like fried chicken. Cause everybody has their own little favorite chicken spots. Downriver has the best Chicken Shack in all of michigan, Southwest Detroit has Pollo Chapin flexing it's muscles, Clawson area has big and bad Faym-us chicken,, then there's this guy, Lee's Famous Recipe in Plymouth. This spot is a true power house juggernaut in its chicken sales. They literally have the chicken flying off their shelves and they couldn't dispense it fast enough either. Lines would form all the way from outside the restaurant just to get a turn to order between the two cashiers. It's a strictly business joint, literally a hole in the wall,, you order, your food comes out and you take it home then proceed to devour. There are two picnic tables right outside of the restaurant if you choose to want to eat it around the premises. The chicken here is phenomenally good. Even the white meat chicken is moist, crunchy and flavorful all at the same time. I don't usually order white meat because chicken breast usually ends up on the dryer side of the chicken meat spectrum, but they seem to have it all figured out. Their side dishes are yummy as well.. Their mashed potatoes is good and buttery, also their Cole slaw is very exquisite. The service is hella prompt. It's a hole in the wall type, so there isn't really anything to say except for their courteousness and welcoming demeanor. You pay, you pick up your food and you eat. It's as simple as boiling a pot of water. These are the simple things in life that we should never take for granted. Good chicken, family and life,,, it doesn't get any better than that. It is an awesome place for breakfast. Three of us went there yesterday morning for the first time and it took us couple mins. to make the decisions about what to order because too many choices! The girl who took our orders in the front were so patient and nice with us! We finally made up our mind and it turned out to be great! Everybody was satisfied with what they had! We definitely will go back again! ;)
The most amazing omelettes and perfectly done hash browns. Well worth the wait although I think they might want to think about expanding soon!
Very good omelettes, love the California, good sevice, very quaint in the heart of beautiful downtown Plymouth Mi, A wonderful little town to window shop. Great atmoshere, smallish place you order food from counter then food brought out to table, seat yourself if you can find a table...especially on weekends. They do offer outside seating in warm months. Love this place makes me melancholy of my home town. Highly recommended.

Pizza e Vino Cellar 849

The food was good &fresh but it gets a low rating as nobody wears protective gloves. Employes handle all the ingredients even for salads with their bare hand which they constantly wipe on their aprons. . Wayne County Health rules provide: "Even after thorough hand washing, employees must not contact, exposed, ready-to-eat foods with their bare hands. They must use disposable gloves or suitable utensils such as tongs, deli tissue, spatulas or other dispensing items. "
We split an antipasto plate and a pizza. Both the antipasto and the pizza reminded us of our trip to Italy so much that we shared memories of our trip during the whole meal. Loved the wood-fired taste. The wine was lovely. We had a great red wine called Maximus. It was a little pricier than our normal dinner out, but worth the money because we enjoyed the quality so much we didn't miss the quantity.
I am a total pizza snob, and this is one of my all-time-favorite pizza places. I have not been to Italy, but Cellar 849/Pizza e Vino was certified by the board that regulates 'real' Naples-style brick oven pizza. These people are not messing around. Staff is helpful and great, especially the bartender/owner. I don't like salad generally (I like pizza!) but their caprese salad over mixed greens won me over. The pizza crust is like nothing I've ever had before -- it is consistently chewy throughout, no super crispy or soggy spots (like you get in most thin-crust pizzas) - really a treat and a must-try! MEAL SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS: Portions are supposed to be sized for 1 pizza per person, but I felt very full and satisfied with half of a pizza and some salad. It's quite reasonably priced for the quality and caliber of the food, and good, generous portions you can share if you aren't starving. GET THERE EARLY OR GET A RESERVATION: The biggest downside is that this restuarant is small and seating is limited - also, they are only open for dinner on Tuesday-Saturday. Worth the trip and extra step of planning (or waiting) though! Visited July 2012

Ummm...this is a bit of an odd review, I will admit it upfront. We had never had MSP up until last night. They don't deliver to our residence, apparently we are just a tad of the grid for their delivery service. I had read the reviews and was excited to finally try their pizza. My husband and I walked in and proceeded to look at the board and tried to figure out what we want. The guy waiting for us to make up our mind was nice enough, but I did get the sense he was wanting us to hurry up and order. I don't know what the rush was considering there were no other customers waiting behind us. Plus, I'd like to reiterate, it was our first time going there, so we were not familiar with the menu at all, unlike their regular customers probably. We decided to go and get my car washed during the 10 mins wait time, I said we would be right back. As I left to go back to my car, I had a very odd feeling. Don't know what it was, but it was the same feeling you get when you think someone is looking at you weird for seemingly no reason. I checked the mirror, no, there was nothing strange on my face or hanging from my nose.... [my eyes were rather puffy, but that was because my eyes did not react well to some new contact solution I had tried earlier] ---maybe I looked like I had just toked up?? Don't know. Either way, I had a strange feeling. So, we go and come back, I walk in and this time all of the staff and probably the owner were standing there, as if they were waiting to see what this customer looked like. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy at the cash register said something disparaging about me (or us) to everyone and then they all gathered to the front to see the freak show that came in. Anyway, I quietly picked up my order, smiled and got the EFF out of there. In the car I told my husband, "yeah, that was weird". He said it's probably because i was wearing a cap, but I'm sorry where is it written that wearing a hat (a knit Levi's black and grey cap) equates to looking like a weirdo or freak?? Maybe that was it. Hell, I'll never know. I really don't think I looked like a dangerous person though. As for the food (the point of this story) it was really good. We both enjoyed our pizza and the half chicken we got. No complaints about the food at all. Seriously, it was very good. But I don't think I'll be going back. I really feel like I was treated poorly, when I didn't do anything weird at all. In fact, I even gave a tip despite the fact that I was picking it up myself. Thanks for showing your appreciation MSP by making me feel like I'm a leper. Oh well. That was unfortunate. Moving along.... Guess I'll find another place.
Local business that appreciates its customers. Very obvious to me that they care about what they do and the product they serve. Walk in and smell the pizza baking in the oven - tell me you aren't hooked! The specials are affordable - 6 bucks for a plenty big medium pizza. This smokes Little Caesars any day (and though it isn't "hot and ready," it takes 5 minutes to order and walk out with a freshly made pizza). I'm a fan!
I love this place. Really good pizza for a relatively inexpensive price. We get the Ham, Mushroom, and Onion on a regular basis and you should too! The wings are pretty good as well, but they are a little sticky.. Get some pizza!

They have been serving up the most delicious homemade soups and sandwiches since 1985. If you're looking for a classic deli, look no further. By far the best lunch spot in Plymouth!
I stopped by for lunch ordered their special sandwich, turkey avocado on a roll, and a cup of the Wisconsin cheese soup. Everything was delicious! Service was quick and polite. Prices were affordable too. I would recommend!
Maybe im biased as I grew up in town, but this is a great sandwich stop. Watch out for lunch hours as its tiny and crowded. The turkey ranch ciabbata and Hawaiian Club are my fave but the corned beef gets good reviews. Even at their busiest the staff was friendly and helpful. Today they were cranking out the corned beef (happy st patties day).

Clean place, good food, fast service. They are super friendly and know EXACTLY what I'm going to order before I even speak! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there have been a handful of times where they have forgotten to put parts of my order into my carry out bag.
Out of all the Coney Islands I have ever been to, this one knocks the quality that a coney can be out of the park! I have been to this coney numerous times and the only time I seem to get not the best quality of food would be when the place is busy. I took my parents for breakfast and dinner before and the quality wasn't the best. The quick service remains the same, but the food differs depending on what time of day it is. Like I stated above, the food here is better than any other coney island I've been to. I'm not a deep fried or high caloric food type of person so I usually try to remain toward the healthier options. I usually eat the cottage cheese and peaches or the Greek salad, which is the bomb-diggity and it's the best when severed with hot pita bread. I've also tried a couple of the sandwiches and breakfast menu items. I love the rainbow pancakes, which have chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles in them, It doesn't even need syrup! The egg salad sandwich is also very good as well. Other than some sandwiches, breakfast food, and salads. That's about all the knowledge I have for this coney. I will give an update if I ever try any of the other food, but I'm sure it remains on par with the other items I have tried as well. As I said earlier, this is the best coney I've been to in the area of Canton, Plymouth, and Livonia. Give it a shot! It's probably better than what you've had before. Tehe! :)
Good food and service : )

Passed my licensure exam with a friend, so we had to go get celebratory frozen yogurt. I liked all the different flavor options (even if you had to go ask about specifics to get samples, probably too many moochers *cough cough* me *cough out there). I got a mix of pomegranate, banana, and vanilla with a lot a lot of toppings. Very disappointed that they didn't have mochi, which for this So Cal girl is a staple. $12 for 2 medium cups? Eh...but I was pushing it on the toppings so I guess it was worth it.
Fast, Friendly and clean goodness. Had a very nice time. The staff was very hard working.
Our favorite go to since they opened! Great toppings, yummy flavors, waist line busting.... Can't go wrong.
