Pizza e Vino Cellar 849 Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Skip Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice as it contains a high amount of fat and the sodium levels are also very high. Avoid the desserts section completely to limit the fat and sugar intake. The food was good &fresh but it gets a low rating as nobody wears protective gloves. Employes handle all the ingredients even for salads with their bare hand which they constantly wipe on their aprons. . Wayne County Health rules provide: "Even after thorough hand washing, employees must not contact, exposed, ready-to-eat foods with their bare hands. They must use disposable gloves or suitable utensils such as tongs, deli tissue, spatulas or other dispensing items. "

We split an antipasto plate and a pizza. Both the antipasto and the pizza reminded us of our trip to Italy so much that we shared memories of our trip during the whole meal. Loved the wood-fired taste. The wine was lovely. We had a great red wine called Maximus. It was a little pricier than our normal dinner out, but worth the money because we enjoyed the quality so much we didn't miss the quantity.

I am a total pizza snob, and this is one of my all-time-favorite pizza places. I have not been to Italy, but Cellar 849/Pizza e Vino was certified by the board that regulates 'real' Naples-style brick oven pizza. These people are not messing around. Staff is helpful and great, especially the bartender/owner. I don't like salad generally (I like pizza!) but their caprese salad over mixed greens won me over. The pizza crust is like nothing I've ever had before -- it is consistently chewy throughout, no super crispy or soggy spots (like you get in most thin-crust pizzas) - really a treat and a must-try! MEAL SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS: Portions are supposed to be sized for 1 pizza per person, but I felt very full and satisfied with half of a pizza and some salad. It's quite reasonably priced for the quality and caliber of the food, and good, generous portions you can share if you aren't starving. GET THERE EARLY OR GET A RESERVATION: The biggest downside is that this restuarant is small and seating is limited - also, they are only open for dinner on Tuesday-Saturday. Worth the trip and extra step of planning (or waiting) though! Visited July 2012

Delicious pizzas! Can't go wrong with any one you pick. Liked the wines too. Enjoyed it very much. Wish there were more places like this in Michigan!

Absolutely loved it!! The pizza was amazing and the wine tasted great. We sat at the bar and our bartender/ server was very nice too. They serve Neapolitan style pizza, and it tastes just like the pizza we had in my moms hometown, Naples, Italy! :) Wish they had a place like this in Chicago :)

This place is AWESOME! It is one of the few places that I actually crave their food! It is noisy and can be crowed, but everyone is super friendly and helpful and the food arrives fresh and fast to the table no matter how busy. I also love that if I need to pick up dinner for the family, its healthy and quick (takes about 5 minutes for them to prepare the takeout order.

The best thing about cellar 849 is that the wines are made locally and you are able to sample 3 plus one bonus wine for 7 bucks. Thats not bad. And they are not small pours either. The problem is that in Plymouth, you have to serve food to be competitive, which they are working on. Great place to go BEFORE dinner on a Friday night.

I missed the pizza Napolitano that I learned to love in Naples, Italy. Authentic Naples Pizza is unique in that the crust is developed in the fast wood fired ovens- just about 90 seconds to make a margherita pizza, This is a certified, origine d'talia pizzaria. The flour ( Caputo ) and technique is certified by the International Organization that does such things, to be authentically Naples Style pizza. This is not pizza that most Americans are used to eating. Perfect Marzano tomatoes in just enough sauce, mozzarella cheese, olive oil with taste and character, All the elements required for the perfect pizza are found here. There is no ham and pineapple, or avocado and bacon. You will be amazed at the depth of flavor and chewiness of this pizza. The staff is helpful and cheerful- and can explain any pizza on the menu. Enjoy!

Lets start with a sizzling pot of artichoke dip on grilled pizza dough. I was in yum heaven with that. Then the pizza came. They have creative toppings that all work so wonderfully go together

I was skeptical of this new Plymouth option. It looked fairly yuppy based on the crowd when we showed up on a Saturday night. The fare and swooning of Italian music in the background won me over. The menu is inventive and provides plenty of options. The wine list will provide something for any palette. The wines are all house wines and fairly good for being house options. The appetizers are filled with hardcore Italian ingredients. We had the artichoke dip and it was superb. Next we had the 849 signature salad which was refreshing and balanced by the reggiano, prosciutto and pine nuts. We finely agreed on the diavolo and it was excellent. This is no 5 dollar hot and ready. This is authentic, oven baked, thin crust. I am convinced the other options would have been equally great. We topped it off with the nutella dessert pizza which is just as good as you think it would be. I know the leftovers will pair well with a late-night or early-morning cup of coffee. This is a welcomed addition to Plymouth's downtown landscape.

So charmed by this place! I stopped counting how many times I've been there after the third. -Amazing pizza -Yummy apps -Friendly and knowledgeable staff -Beautiful interior -Great wine list. Italian and Cali. They have Limoncello! -In my opinion, a great place to wind down but I've seen many people live it up in large groups. Not too crazy though. Just go.

Great pizza! I'm a fan of Cellar 849. They have a nice menu, some of the best pizza I've ever had, and have a decent wine selection. I've always had good service. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, it does get a tad noisy at times when they are busy though. This could be fixed easily enough though. And I can walk here from my house, a definite plus! Go, drink some wine, eat a fantastic pizza, enjoy yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Get a reservation and be prepared for loud. The food was great, the spirits selection was poor. Teh pizza was really good as was the Artichoke Dip.

I love this place! As a plymouth native I can say with certainty, this is the best place in town. Worth the wait!

This place gets a 4 from me for just having genuinely tasty pizza and a nice (albeit loud) atmosphere. However, if I was going to be 'that yelp reviewer', I would probably give this place 3 stars. I am not necessarily doubting their authenticity (they have some sort of credentials) but their pizza crust was not crisp and it was weighted down with cheese. Normally, I don't have a problem with these things, it just wasn't what I expected. BUT with that being said, their food is pretty tasty. We had the spedini, which was prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella thrown in the oven. You can't go wrong there...plus their prosciutto was very delicious. Then we had their pistachio pesto/sausage pizza. And to finish off the night, one of the best cannolis I have ever eaten. And again, everything was good and I would eat here again, but I wouldn't go here if you are expecting a thin crispy crust.

Love, love, love this place. Brick oven pizza is amazing and it's a great place to catch up with a friend or spouse over a bottle of wine.

4 Stars on the Pizza! The most authentic napolitana style pizza I've had in Michigan by far! Especially love the brussel sprout & pancetta pizza. I've eaten there about half a dozen times and they are consistent! Very important when it comes to pizza. Good wine list also, small, good and decently priced. On Friday & Saturday nights expect to wait for a bit, but it's worth it, grab a glass of wine at the bar and check out the wood burning oven!

Update 06/14/2012 - Cellar 849 now serves beer and wine!!! Now I can get a wonderful Diavola, or Salumi pizza and wash all the wonderfullness down with a cold frosty beer! All they need now on their menu is a Sienna style pizza with the raw egg plopped right in the middle, and they'll have it all. Just got back from a fantastic experience at Cellar 849....have sort of been ignoring the place until we heard about the new expanded hours and wood-fired pizza and it did not disappoint! The ambience was excellent, the wine very drinkable at an incredible price, and the Pizza, well lets just say the pizza exceeded my expecations! It reminded me of my favorite trips to Italy! Thin, fresh, not overly tomato sauced. I got the Versuivio and it was phenomenal. We will be back!

Loved this place. Innovative menu (with some standard options for picky eaters). Top notch service. Flavorful cheeses on the salads and pizzas. The location is terrific for wandering around downtown plymouth after dinner. Plenty of free parking behind the building. Quite noisy and hip.

I love this place so much I'm considering making it my Valentine. I've been here several times now and it keeps getting better and better. That artichoke dip - I'm not kidding - is one of my favorite things to eat. Even that homemade bread they serve it with is out of this world. I think about it when I'm not there. I drive 30 minutes just to eat it. And then I remember that their pizza is just as good. Quality ingredients, inventive toppings. You ever had brussels sprouts on a pizza? I think it changed my life. If you like brussels sprouts even a bit, you gotta try it!

So selfish: I'm almost hesitant to write a positive review of this place. The first time we went there it had just enough people to make it lively, but empty enough to find a good seat. One month later I returned only to find it packed which, of course, made it a challenge to find a good seat!! This place was set up for success when they put in the oven. They do a few things for food and they do them well. Wine selection is outstanding and they pour a little on the heavy side which is a HUGE bonus. Background music is a perfect mix of recent cocktail tunes and old school Sinatra. Date? Girls night? Yes, this is the place for you. You won't break the bank but it feels like you are somewhere very special.

  • Amy S.

Great food and wine. We had the artichoke dip, a salad and a pizza. It was all delicious - fresh and authentic! We went on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty crowded, there wasn't anyone there to greet us or help us find a seat so it was bit awkward. We ended up at the bar which turned out to be just fine. The staff seemed to be a little frazzled at times but it was still very pleasant and we really enjoyed our evening!

  • Erika B.

Love this place! Great wine and the food is delicious and all freshly made. Great for a date or a night out with the girls. It can get really busy, but the food (pizza) and wine are worth the wait. They also sell wine by the bottle, so if you find one you love, you can purchase a bottle to take home. Even though I don't live in town anymore, it is still have favorite spot when I am in town to meet my girlfriends!

  • T M.

The pizza as main dish was a great fire baked pizza. The appetizers are very bread based which by time you get the main dish feels very redundant. LThe service was incredibly slow. It took about ten minutes to see our waitress and another ten before we got our wine. Probably wont return. The pizza was good, but not good enough to make up for everything else.

  • Sarah K.

Delicious, creatively topped wood fired thin crust pizzas. If you want carry out you have to go in and order it and wait while they make it, so it's super fresh. My kids love to watch them make their pizzas. Cozy atmosphere. Great wine selection and good service.

I would give more stars if I could. I live two hours away and will be back. The sauce is delicate yet has depth. The mozzarella is fresh and spot on with flavor. If you are in Plymouth you must stop

I noticed Cellar 849 when I went Plymouth to pick up some candy for Father's Day. I went back there later that evening to see what it was all about. They have a pretty long wine list, as well as snacks and desserts. For $6, you can get a wine tasting flight of 6 different one ounce tastes of different wines. You can go there and have a wine party or a wine making party. Wines range from $12 to $24 a bottle ($6 to $8 per glass). The wines are delicious, the food is tasty, and the service is outstanding. I'll be back there later this week!

I really enjoyed this place! The pizza is delicious! The wine is good too and they have a frozen wine, which I would recommend.

  • Kevin D.

Really nice atmosphere here. With the wood fire oven, kind of dark and private. The wine is very good, but even better is the pizza. Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. For being a nice restaurant in the downtown area the prices are not too steep at all. The staff here is very friendly. I will definitely be back.

  • Evan T.

We had a great time here. The wine selection was excellent and reasonably priced. We ordered a margharita pizza to judge them against our other favorite places and it was among the best. The dough was perfect but next time we'll ask for extra basil. We'll definitely go back!

I wanted to update my prior review from 4 stars to 5, because I've been here 3 times now, and I am overall very impressed with their delicious pizzas and great service. I tend to be very critical toward restaurants, but I feel like this place is worthy of 5 stars. I look forward to returning again soon.

Went here for a birthday dinner, and had an excellent experience. We sat outside, since the temperature was just right for it. Our server was really attentive, and helpful with the menu, since we'd never been before. We had a fantastic appetizer (goat cheese, roasted red pepper, and some sort of toasted bread) and 2 great pizzas. Didn't try any salad. The pizza was amazing, and the crust was just thin enough so that you really tasted the toppings, and you could taste the smokiness from the wood. Great stuff. Will definitely be back.

Went there last night as a party of two. It was during Music in the Park on a Friday night and was quite crowded. Although our waitress was very nice, there was not enough waitstaff. You expect to wait for a pizza, but not 20 minutes to place your order. We ordered Red Diablo and it was Gallo table wine quality and didn't leave a good impression of the unique creativity of the place. We came w/high expectations for the quality of the pizza, and we thought that Pizza Margherita would be a great test of the quality. The crust was burned and the pizza was not special. We won't be back.

My BF and I have gone twice In the last month and will return again and again. Why? Because Cellar 849 is just a nice, comfortable place. You're packed in a little tight but that never bothers me - just focus on who you're with. The pizza is great but we are truly in love with the absolutely best salad I think I have ever eaten - the insalate rustica. The wine list is all Italian and inexpensive. You're not going to find an Amarone or even a Ripasso, what you will find are coiffable wines at reasonable prices. Whereas I would typically never buy a bottle in a restaurant knowing its wholesale price and markup, I don't mind it here bc the prices are so good. Now the serving of the wine took me aback a little as a former wine bar owner who drilled the importance of proper wine service into each and every staff member. It's very laid back here - so much so that the bottle arrives with the foil already cut and the wine key already started into the cork. A taste is poured and then a glass for others and then back to host. I got over it pretty quickly bc that's not what they're about - wine presentation according to the Court of Master Sommeliers - they're about casual ambience, wood-fired pizza. I can dig it - just hope they never grab the wrong bottle bc they don't confirm it with the guest. But both times we were there they were at capacity or on a wait so they're definitely doing something right.

I love this place. It is a very laid back casual atmosphere, with great pizza and salad and wine. I believe that they started brewing their own beer here as well. The service has always been wonderful; very friendly. I can't say enough about this place. Whenever my husband and I are at a loss for where to go on date night, this is always the place. Get here before 7 on the weekends, they don't take reservations and they are crowded by 6:30.

  • Mick J.

Very enjoyable. Good thin crust pizza, fresh salad, and very drinkable wine. I hope they get enough business to tough it out in what I fear is a miserable time to open a restaurant. We had the mushroom and goat cheese pizza, and a salad with a bottle of the Barbera (sp?) wine. Good enough to go back again with friends to enjoy the food and atmosphere.

I really like this place...there are only a few wines I like, mainly the Cab Sav...others tend to be too sweet or too peppery. The whites are pretty decent and I like more of those than all the reds they have and I am a red wine regular. What I like about this place is that it is simple. They have simple pizzas and appetizers on the menu, all of which are gourmet of couse. This place is good for a date night or girls night out. My boyfriend and I go to this place quite freqently, but it is a bit expensive. We usually don't walk out paying anything less than $90 between the two of us. One night I went alone and paid $60! Although I did go home with a half full bottle of wine. Great place for winos like me!

If you have had a great pizza in one of umpteen European cities, and wondered if said pizza was available stateside, then stop wondering.... Wood fired at 800 F and made from some crust flour that I've never heard of, this place makes the kind of pizza that is unlike any other pizza joint. In addition to great pizza, they have loads of wines from near and far, and some seriously great appetizers. We came here expecting something good, and left with a total feeling of wanting to come again.

With very high Yelp! Rating of 4.5-star (many people giving 5-star rating) and certified Napoletana pizza restaurant, my expectation was high and I really wanted to love Pizza e Vino Cellar... -All quality ingredients used (but overall balance just wasn't there/missing) -Pizza crust/dough had good flavor and chewiness (but lacked a bit of crispness that you find in Napoletana pizza. Server issue?) -Very salty... You'll really notice this is you take leftover home and eat it (maybe it's on salty side considering guests would have few glasses of wine? ex. salty popcorn served at bars) -Good atmosphere and service -Traditional and Classic Pizza Margherita served with burned basil leaf (without any fresh leaves for aroma and flavor before serving) is not authentic (especially for the price you pay, even considering location premium/downtown Plymouth) In the end, I'm really glad that I've tried Pizza e Vino Cellar. Would I go again? Probably not. They do offer good pizza but I expect to be blown away + addicted at their rating of 4.5-star and the price point. Overall their pizza did not give me enough happy brain chemicals to be a repeat customer.

This is one of our favorites! My husband and I like to arrive after the dinner crowd has thinned out a bit, and we often sit at the bar to eat. The pizzas are fantastic, but save room for dessert because the chocolate chip cannoli is worth every bite! And, we love the atmosphere. Only down side, but not worth taking away a star, is that they are not open all 7 days of the week.

What a great place! If you like Neapolitan style pizza, this is some of the best anywhere. Great service, reasonably priced wine, very attentive staff. Fun find in downtown Plymouth.

Hands down the best pizza I've had in Michigan! I found this restaurant while searching for CERTIFIED Napoletana pizza - wouldn't you know this is the ONLY place that is certified Napoletana pizza in Michigan?! That means the pizza is made with authentic ingredients (special flour, San Marzano tomatoes, etc) and prepared using a specific wood burning oven. My absolute favourite pizza place in Toronto is also certified and I didn't think I'd ever find a similar restaurant in Michigan... but I did! I love the Bufalina pizza. Delicious San Marzano sauce, basil, Bufalina cheese.... Mouth watering. This is pizza you will want to fold. Actually, I encourage you to pick up a slice and fold it. It's super thin crust and chewy in the best way. This is a pizza and wine bar --- the bar is limited, so don't be expecting a variety of liquor or beer. Ciao!

A friend of mine noticed I bookmarked this spot and after a bit of research, he insisted we check it out. Turned out to be the right thing to do. Cellar 849 is nothing short of incredible. First off, I have to say how impressed I was with my first trip to Plymouth. The downtown area is filled with a number of eclectic shops and eateries. It was a comfortable and fun place to hang out. We checked in with the hostess and waited about 10 minutes before being seated at the bar. Not bad at all for a busy Friday evening. Decided to go with 2 pies - one with and one without sauce. Bufalina and prosciutto it was. "Flame-blackened blisters" on top of a beautiful thin crust. Chewy & delicious! But among all else it was the sauce that stood out. Apparently it's the San Marzano tomatoes to be thankful for. I want this sauce on a bed of noodles or paired with a grilled cheese to dip in. Give me a bowl to drink it! Yes, this is the best sauce I've ever had on a pie! Thank you Mr John Corsi for your drive and passion to create the best pizza possible

Excellent! The options available mixed with the atmosphere offer a simple, relaxed and delicious setting. Always get the artichoke cheese dip while there! Made with cheeses that are smooth and a bit salty to pair well with the simply cooked bread. The same bread used for the cheese dip is also the crust for the pizzas. My favorites are the olive oil based ones rather than the red sauce, but that's a personal preference due to a dislike of tomatoes. The best two by far are the pancetta and potatoe pizza and the pesto and sausage pizza. The flavor from the fire cooking if simple but perfect. The thin crust pairs well with the fresh ingredients. After dinner, get yourself a cannoli! Delicious! You can get chocolate chips or shaved almonds with it. Sweet and smooth creme in the center of the perfectly cooked cannoli.

Downtown Plymouth is so lucky to have so many amazing restaurants and bars to choose from. If you are in the mood for great wine, great salads, pizza and appetizers, look no further than Cellar 849. You can even order to go, just pop in. The wait can be a little lengthy but if you have a small group, you can always sit at the bar. I recommend the de la casa salad, artichoke dip, and any pizza with arugula.

Probably some of the best most authentic Neapolitan style pizza around! My fiancé and I have been here quite a few times and the pizza is always consistent and the salads are quite fantastic. The place is small but it has a cozy and romantic feel to it. The staff is always great!

A fine example of something that, just because it's authentic/old school/classic, doesn't make it the best. The 12" pizzas cost fourteen bucks, first of all, which is a little pricey for what you get, despite the quality of ingredients. My main problem with this place, besides the fact I was expecting something great due to the Yelp scores, is that the "under crust" is brutally thin -- so thin you can't pick the pizza up, or even cut it -- you have to tear it with a fork. Cellar 849 offers take out, of course, but by the time you get home to eat it, this pizza will just basically be a mushy pile of soup in your box. The pizza's good and everything, but I feel like this place has 4.5 stars because a slew of drunks were on their second bottle of wine when they got their pizza. For the price, it's just not that great, regardless of how authentic it is. The Misto Salumi (spelling) was insanely salty -- I know they have cured meats all over it, but wowza. The other one I tried has a name I can't remember, but it had chicken sausage on it... that one was a bit better. If you want a wood/brick oven pizza that lives up to the hype, I'd recommend Motor City Brewing Works in Detroit. 3.5 rounded down just because I expected to be wowed, and I just wasn't. Not to say it's a bad pizza, but I've had considerably better for cheaper.

Decided to take my girlfriend here today since the reviews rave of how amazing the woodfire pizza is. For the price, this is probably the worst fire-cooked pizza I have had. The sauce was watery, the Italian sausage was some of the worst tasting I've ever had, and there was barely any cheese. For 14 bucks I would expect a lot more. For those who want real fire-cooked pizza, go check out Crispelli's in West Bloomfield/Berkley. Cellar 849 tastes third-world in comparison. Not all was bad though. We did enjoy our salad and the wine was really tasty. I would definitely go back, but just for the wine and skip the pizza altogether.

We thought it would be a quiet evening when we entered this small, rustic, but brightly painted restaurant off of Main St, on Penniman. There was a sole patron at the bar so we had the pick of tables at 5pm, mid-week. Along one wall, there were shelves with wine bottles; tables were jammed together to accommodate the soon-to-be swelling crowds. I wanted to try the wood-fired artichoke dip served with soft, pillowy focaccia bread. The dip was chunky, cheesy, and briny, a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Both Neapolitan pizzas that I tried were delicious. The crust was soft, supple and tender - paper-thin good. I liked the Salsiccia, a red-sauced, spicy sausage pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese and sprigs of sweet basil. Simple and good. I loved the half-slice of white pizza that I snatched off my friend's plate. The Pompeii featured mozzarella cheese, pesto sauce, mushroom, and ham. She also added thinly-sliced zucchini to the mix, increasing the sweet, subtle flavor. Our server was fantastic. She answered our questions patiently and knowledgeably. Even though the crowds grew, we never felt rushed.

Finally after restless sourching of a Pizza place which can come close to a real Pizza like In Germany we found the place. Outsider seating is available which completed the day yesterday with a perfect finish. Pizza to die for very friendly staff. We will be back that is a given.

Just discovered this place a few weeks ago and have been twice now. Love the atmosphere. Would love to sit outside to dine but on the nice summer evenings there's more of a wait outside than in. Both times our waiter has been very attentive - I'm bummed I can't remember our waiters name last night. He made some fabulous suggestions and took the time to explain what makes their pizza Neapolitan-style pizza. The pizza is clearly the star of the joint but don't overlook the wonderful appetizers - especially the artichoke dip! The salads are wonderful thanks to the amazing homemade balsamic dressing. The one thing that will keep me coming back is the Salsiccia pizza. If you like Italian sausage you've got to try this pizza. It's made in house and has a wonderful fennel flavoring. Great for girls night out or date night. Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

If you have kids - DONNOT GO HERE. SO, I called ahead and made a reservation for 8 (2 Kids), showed up on time, they said there are 3 groups ahead of us. ( I don't know what was the point of reservation) But ok No Problem, we waited nearly an Hour, 2 tables cleared. they were setting the table. we thought we were going to be called. but No, I asked the girl how much longer, The kids were getting super hungry, they said they are waiting for tables to clear up, I asked about the empty table, they said. it might be cramped and we cannot join tables. So, one customer walking out told us that another lady sitting next to the empty tables told the manager don't let them sit here. she dint like to sit with kids around. When I asked to talk to the manager, he said we cant do anything. if you want you wait for the corner table to clear out or wait for some more ppl to leave. I said thanks and Walked out. 1 - The manager did not even have the curtsey to explain or apologize for 1.5 Hrs wait. 2 - The Most UN - Child friendly service. (I must say the kids were behaving 3 - I don't even care how the food is in this place at this point. 4 - These People are not worth the business. Did not expect this from such a restaurant. very disappointing.

Sangria and flat bread. The first one cold and flavorful, the second hot and crispy. This was a delightful place in a charming town to sit and have a light dinner. It was very busy on a Saturday night and our table for two was right in the middle of the all the action. The subdued lighting really helped the atmosphere, though it was loud, it still felt cozy in the right way! Try the artichoke dip! Not sure I've ever had one without spinach before. Finally time for artichoke to shine all on it's own! Bubbly with crispy edges in the cutest little cast iron gratin pan. Certain things make me happy. A carafe of water is always a nice touch. Thanks!

The food is amazing. I'm writing an update because this place needs to change its seating process. I arrived at around 8-830pm on Saturday. I was told that there were 5 groups ahead of us "but they're not all here and I'm not sure if they're coming back." So I put my name in and asked if the hostess knew if it would be closer to 15 minutes or an hour. She said something to the effect of "I don't know. It depends if they all come back or not. It could be 15 minutes. It could be an hour. I really don't know." I asked if I could leave a number and if she could call when our table was ready and she said that they couldn't do that. She said that I could call them and check in. Anyway...we end up getting a seat at a bar stool in the back of the restaurant away from everyone else. We have a beer. We get seated about 15-20 minutes later at the bar. No harm, no foul. I just feel like there's gotta be a better system in place than, "It could be 15 minutes. It could be an hour. I don't know." Get a pager system. Send out text messages. Do something to make this a more predictable process. Regardless of this inconvenience, the place is still good enough for me to want to deal with it to get the food. Tried the goat cheese flatbread and the quattro formaggi pizza this time. Fricken' amazing. It seems like the seating process should be an easy fix. They used to call people when their tables were ready. I don't know why that ever changed.

Have not found a place outside of Italy that has made me feel quite as at home as Pizza e Vino. The quality of cuisine is true Italian - they allow the high quality ingredients to speak for themselves and they are loud! The Rustica salad is an all time favorite - fresh, fluffy goat cheese, crunchy pine nuts and a sweet, yet mildly acidic homemade balsamic that is truly fatto in casa. We came in 10 minutes to close twice now, and our waiter Ted treated us as if we were his first guests of the day, both times! Props to the owner of Pizza e Vino, Ted and Chef are valuable pieces to your finely tuned pizza puzzle. It is certainly rare to find the one-two combo that you find in this place... rustic paesan cuisine and a wait staff that makes you feel like you weren't late for dinner at Nonna's. Ambiance plus quality of cuisine plus wait staff - puts this place in a league of its own. Bravi!

Cellar 849 has become a huge favorite of mine! What a pleasant dining experience. The ambiance throughout the restaurant is warm and relaxing. The wine is delightful. Truly a great selection. I recommend the Domaine Cabernet and the Darcie Kent Chardonney. I've had a variety of appetizers here, all having been incredibly tasty. My favorites so far are the brussels sprouts and the crostini. Can't wait do try the artichoke dip next time. The salads are ridiculously good. Fresh, tasty and quite large. My favorite is the Capri. As for the pizza, the Salsiccia and the Sanita are both wonderful. I look forward to trying more pizzas. There really isn't anything on the menu you can go wrong with, as everything I've had here has been fantastic! Well done, Cellar 849! Looking forward to more wonderful evenings at your establishment!

If I could eat this pizza everyday I would!! Love dining in as service is great but more often my husband and I... Sometimes weekly (guilty) get take out pizzas paired with wine at home and kilwins fudge for dessert!! We get it so often one of the chefs starts making our pizzas before my husband orders when he sees him walk in to carry out!! I get the buffalina and my husband gets the misto salumi... They also have an amazing Nutella pizza we get when we dine in! You will not be disappointed with anything you order here!! So spoiled living so close to cellar 849!! Oh and the bartenders are so friendly... Whenever we are waiting for our carry out the bartender always asks if we would like a glass of wine.. Even often offers a half of glass because the pizza is ready so fast!!!

Food is good but vibe is NOT! Ok I get it...wood fired artisan pizza and real authentic buffalo Mozzetta with 00' flour from the old country...but there must be more...import some personality import a smile! In from Naples and Nepalese know how to smile and make you feel at home! These guys need to relax and enjoy the ride...

I'm from Italy, born and raised. Not from Naples, but still... This is the only place in the Detroit area that is a truly high quality, authentic pizza place that would survive and thrive even if it was in Italy. As everyone says, the ingredients make a huge difference, and the specifications by which the pizza must be made assure a combination of chewiness and crispness that is the signature feature of a Neapolitan pizza--the only kind of pizza that deserves the name, in my opinion. The people who don't like this place simply don't know what pizza is like in the place where it was invented. Nothing wrong with that, but comparing this pizza to any other joint in Michigan missed the point. I would have to compare it to some very high end pizza makers in Italy, where I go regularly, and then I would have to say that the ratio crispness/chewiness is here on the chewy side, and I prefer a little crisper. But I'm really being a picky snob now. The wine list is also very good and reasonable for the quality.

As someone who LOVES traveling to Italy, especially for it's Pizza, this is definitely at par with the pizza that I have had in Italy. The ambiance of restaurant is very cozy and makes you feel good the second you step inside, although it retrospect it's probably the high you get from smelling the delicious food that comes straight from their brick oven. My suggestion when you go there is to sit at the bar, you can peek at the food being made and you get your drinks ASAP. Anyways, I really like to start with an appetizer. Be careful though. Their apps are pretty big, so its easy to get full off of them if you intend to have dinner as well. To be truthfully honest, I have never been disappointed with anything that I have ordered. Also, I highly suggest that you ask the bartender what new wine they have in, they have really great wines for any palette.

Great wine and pizza. What more could you ask for? Olives. That's what you can ask for. Amazing variety of warm olives. They're just olives I thought, how different can they be? My taste buds were in awe. There must be some sort of special ingredient they use to make these olives taste so good. I've never been disappointed by the margherita pizza. The pizza has a nice crunchy thin crust. I only wish there was more basil on the pizza. Servers are knowledgeable about their wines and make great recommendations depending on what you like.

As usual when I finally make it to a place that Yelpers rave about I end up a bit disappointed. Was it bad? Not at all, was it great? Not at all. I felt it was somewhere in the middle. The pizza was good not great. Most people can eat a pizza by yourself including women since it is small and thin crusted. All pizzas are 14.50. All salads are 10.50. We had our own pizza and split a salad and a glass of wine each and our bill was $55.00 before tip.

We went here on a Saturday night, had to wait a while for a table for 4 ( over an hour) so we went and had a cocktail down the road after putting our name on a list and being told they would text us when our table was ready. After a couple of cocktails, we were texted (1hour 25 minutes after placing our name with the hostess.) we were seated and greeted warmly by the server. We ordered an appetizer of bruschetta and a bottle of wine. Service was excellent....attentive, friendly and knowledgable. I wish I could remember her name to give her kudos, but I cannot recall her name. The bruschetta was excellent, fresh and flavorful. Both couples ordered pizza. It was very good. It was a decent pizza, nice amount of toppings, and being cooking in a proper oven (wood fired stone) makes for a tasty pizza. It is a bit pricey, but that's to be expected for the locale of downtown Plymouth. We'd definitely go back and have another meal....maybe during the week, when it may not be as busy?

Went for a date night on a weeknight at prime time and was able to find a table. Service was more Italian than American so don't be in a hurry. The pizzas were very good with fresh ingredients. The pizza sauce was good as well, a noticeable change from the chain pizzas. Great selection of Italian varietal wines. Tried the hazlenut and chocolate pizza and it was good and very rich. Had a cappuccino with it, but it's a far cry from Italy, might skip that next time. Would highly recommend if you're in the Plymouth area.

consistently a five-star experience for me. i do sometimes wish for more of a bar atmosphere here, but the focus is clearly on the pizza and it is well-deserved. the pizzas here are small, thin-crust neopolitan style, and run from $10-14, which seems pretty expensive until you taste the pizza. simple, beautiful little pizzas with fresh ingredients and the most amazing crust. it's not a place i would visit every week because of the price, but i always take out-of-towners here for a treat, because their pizza is worth it. the atmosphere can get a little loud and distracting when the place is busy - i might not recommend it for a first-date if you're looking for something quiet and romantic, but you might try visiting during off-hours when it's not crowded.

First I'll prempt that I'm a bit of a pizza snob so perhaps that is why I was a bit disappointed. The ambiance was great here as was the service. I came here on a second date and was impressed by our waitresses knowledge of the pizza and wine recommendations. She was only 22 but knew her wine pairings and recommend a wonderful Malbec my date and I enjoyed very much. The pizza is made from scratch in a stone oven. You can see the chef prepare and cook the pizza. The ingredients are all organic and of top quality. I was disappointed in the flavor of the crust. I found it to be dry and lacking any seasoning. The crust is a thin hand-tossed style. I prefer a thicker, more deep dish type. The pizza's are all on the small side so would recommend a salad or an appetizer to go with it. I would come here again but not because of the pizza. The ambiance, wine, and presentation are top notch. For what it's worth, my date said it was the best pizza he had ever had. To each their own!

A friend and I visited Cellar 849 after reading great reviews and had an awesome experience. We ordered a large thin crust pizza that was delicious and flavorful, and also ended up ordering a bottle of wine. The waitress did a good job making recommendations based on what type of wine we liked, and she was very friendly. During our visit, we we sat outside in the outdoor patio and a local bum came by asking for money. He stayed near us for about 5-10 minutes before the wait staff asked him to leave. Shortly after, the owner came outside, asked how we were doing, apologized, and offered us a free dessert. The cannoli was tasty too. Overall - delicious pizza and great service. I appreciate an establishment that cares for its customers the way Cellar 849 does.

Second time here now, pizza is amazing, however, the service (especially the hostesses) leaves a lot to be desired. Snotty girls who move their mothers to the front of the line before customers who show up first. A restaurant that does not take reservations, reserves half their tables creating an empty restaurant with a long line. Was told people can reserve tables till 5, but sitting here after 5 and the tables are still empty. Great food, but very poor customer service and business sense.

I just came to see what other people were saying when I realized that I haven't even reviewed C849 yet. I am so disappointed in myself. This is my favorite Neapolitan style pizza ever! I can't recommend this place enough. It's in a great area in downtown Plymouth, has a little patio outside, and if you're lucky enough to snag one of these seats, you are in for a treat! Inside is just as great; it gives the feeling of a wine cave. The wine choices are phenomenal... I don't think I've ever been disappointed with my wine selection here. My bestie is in love with the frappe vino, which I'll admit is pretty awesome. But, let's get to business. The pizza. OHHH the pizza! I love Neapolitan style pizza, and I will come from Royal Oak to Plymouth to get this pizza. I love the toppings... the last time I was here I had the roasted red pepper and chicken sausage pizza, and it was phenomenal. Fiance also wanted a dessert pizza, so we had the Nutella pizza, and it was... Heaven. I will get that again and again. I honestly can't recommend this place enough!

My husband and I went after a friend recommended this place. WOW. I really know nothing about wines and I asked our waitress to recommend a glass. The bartender/manager/owner came over and helped me pick a most excellent wine. I ended up ordering two while we were there! Which is okay since the husband was driving; thank goodness. They bring you your own carafe of water which is really nice seeing as you don't need to bother the waitress with refills. We ordered a appetizer of Caprese Con Bufala and it was divine; the cheese was fresh and there was arugula that just made it even tastier. I also ordered the Brussels Sprouts appetizer that has balsamic vinegar drizzled over it with pancetta. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. For our dinner we had the Margherita pizza which reminded me of Brick Oven Bistro that used to be on Greenfield. We have been searching for a great place that has a great Margherita pizza and we have found it. We definitely will be back and I highly recommend Pizza e Vino Cellar 849.

This was the destination for a spontaneous date night spurred on by the positive reviews I read on Yelp, and I have to say that I agree with the hype. This place has some of the best tasting pizza I have ever had the pleasure to eat. The basil tasted freshly picked and the crust was thin and crispy and baked to perfection! My only complaint was that neither me or my significant other could tell if our waitress was on shift or not as she didn't seem like she was in uniform but she was definitely friendly! Note: if you don't want a wait, get there before the rush as they don't take reservations for small parties.

This was another first for me and I'm glad I had the chance to check it out. The restaurant itself isn't very big so even at 6-630 on a Saturday you're going to be waiting so come early and drop your name while you run next door for a quick cocktail. The hostess was friendly but she had a really hard time giving us a solid wait time. She was nice enough to take our number and call us when our table opened up. When we returned we were sat immediately and our server, Kelly, started taking our drink orders. The beer selection is pretty decent and from what I perused it looked like they had several choices for wine. After we ordered drinks we started with the Spiedini which was a religious experience truly! Mozzarella wrapped in Prosciutto de Parma and oven roasted...more please. Bear in mind this is a tremendously salty dish but it's one you need to try. If I'm not mistaken ours was plated alongside a few slices of 849 Flatbread which is also phenomenal with it's rosemary sprinkle. Next we ordered a couple pies starting with the Salsiccia...their homemade Italian sausage, basil and mozzarella. This was my favorite. Next came the Positano with arugula, Bufala mozzarella, mushrooms and shaved parmigiano with a drizzle of truffle oil if I'm not mistaken. I liked it but the pile arugula made this more like a salad and at $15 for a medium pie that's ultra thin I'd pass on this next time. The neapoilitan crust was pretty fantastic but I wouldn't recommend trying to get carry out if you want it to stay crispy. The pies are really thin and they're a little pricey here but I think it was a great experience and aspects of the meal would certainly cause me to come back for more.

I have this thing with sitting at the bar of a place and watching all Life's happenings around me, this place is an excellent place for that. The place itself is tucked away in downtown Plymouth, MI and could easily be passed up for the numerous other places that are much more flashy nearby. I stopped here early Friday afternoon at the end of April. Even though the bartender was slow and the waitstaff seemed all new, I absolutely adore the fact that they have wood fired pizzas! Speaking of pizza, it was AMAZING!! It was a bit spicy, but was just as good a couple days later when reheated in the oven. My company was getting highly irritated that the bartender was so slow, but I could easily overlook it. Maybe they will be more pulled together when this waitstaff gets trained properly? It definitely won't be stopping me from going back for another pizza though!

Went to Cellar 849 with my cousin who lives close to it and has frequented it. It was only a short wait to get in (good timing), but the place was packed and bustling (an loud)! We shared an antipasti salad which was good, and an "Americano" pizza. The pepperoni on the pizza were the best kind, little cups full of greasy goodness. The crust was typical Napoletana pizza style, flat & relatively thin, but not overly crispy. This is definitely a niche pizza place. Very urban & chic, to fit in with the downtown Plymouth atmosphere. Parking can be a disaster, so be prepared to really work for a spot.

Nice pizza spot in DTP. Their crust has the right amount of chewy/crispy ratio.(mine could have cooked just a tad longer) The toppings are fresh and inventive. The salads are delicious, especially the one with shaved Prosciutto and Parmesan. The balsamic dressing is great. Check out the wine flights and don't forget to order the Nutella pizza for dessert. Yum!

The food is excellent but the service is a bit lacking. We usually get the same server and she seems rushed and not genuinely concerned with our experience. We kind of get the feeling like we need to eat and GTFO. Food is 5 stars, service brings the entire experience down to a 3.

One of the best Neapolitan / brick oven pizzas I've had so far in the U.S. -- next to Isabella's in Baltimore, Tony's in San Francisco, Matchbox in D.C., and Forno Rosso in Chicago. Our waitress told us that Cellar 849 is 1 of 75 certified Neapolitan establishments in the U.S. My wife and I had the Pompeii and it was and will continue to be memorable.

Recently visited on a first date, and this was my first time in the joint. I'm not a wine person, but my date ordered a Chianti that i enjoyed. Salad was fresh and the greens were nice. and the pizza was delicious. great crust, nice wood-burned taste and the toppings were good. as we closed the place out it wasn't too noisy. But can see how it would get a little difficult to have a nice discussion over dinner as the high ceilings and close seating can create a louder atmosphere. I would definitely return for another dinner.

Parking in downtown Plymouth, especially on a Saturday at 7pm, can be a nightmare. We circled the street three times (with a cluster-F attempt at parking in a public lot where I could SEE the spots just not get to them!) before lucking out. The restaurant is long and narrow, with half booths and tall tables. The bar and pizza kitchen are right in the middle of everything, so you can watch your food and drinks being made. Loud when the place is full. We scored a half booth 2-top (Ken wouldn't take the 4-top next to us because he thought it was rude... but the couple right after us didn't think so, and, wow they had room for their food). I ordered a wine flight for $8. 3-2oz pours (but the bartender was much more generous) of California reds. Likey. One strange thing was that I personally needed to go to the bar to order the flight, but the waitstaff would bring you a single glass or bottle without issue. No biggie because it gave me a chance to argue reds with the bartender, who was very knowledgeable. We split the Wood-Fired Artichoke Dip and Warm Olive plate for apps. Both came with wedges of Focaccia, which is pretty much their pizza crust without sauce (giving us an excellent idea of the deliciousness in store for us). Loved the olives - both red and green olives with pits, warmed in the 900F oven and rolled in an herby olive oil. The dip was alright, but we would try another app next time. I had the Bufalina pizza - San Marzano tomato, imported mozzarella di bufala, fresh basil. My first taste of Margherita pizza. Heaven. I had them add more fresh basil because I only had one little leaf on each slice (yes, I'm difficult). Ken had the Salsiccia - SM tomato, mozzarella, Italian fennel sausage and red onion. He subbed mushrooms from the onion (they charged him $1 for the sub, which peeved me a bit), but wished he'd had them sub olives once he had a bite of our app. Very good sausage. Light crust, chewy texture and slightly charred around the edges. The middle of the pizza, especially mine, was a bit wet but so damn tasty that we didn't care. We could have gone 5 but then Ken reminded me that they didn't have beer (yet - they're advertising a Cellar 849 micro brew beer coming soon). Small food menu - pizza and apps + wine. But the items they do have are perfect.

Simply the best Neoplolitan Pizza you can eat. Delish!! 5*!! The wine selection is good, appetizers are awesome, waitstaff is especially knowledgable in all areas. The owner is doing an excellent job! Customers complaining about parking in the area, reservations, bringing kids, pizza size prices, OMG!. Get there at 4 if you have issues!!! Otherwise prepare for problems because the pizza is the best you can get and its going to be busy!!! Dear Owner, thanks for everything. Keep it up and the customers will keep coming back, especiallly me!

Yum! Fresh ingredients! Love the red sauce. Light, tender, chewy crust cooked to perfection. Laid back and lively atmosphere. Not much of a wait on a Saturday around 6:30 PM. maybe because we chose to sit at the bar. Service was just enough.

Cellar 849 combines two of my most favorite gastro items, pizza and wine (or wine and pizza, I am not sure which one I like better)...albeit at Cellar 849, it is pricey wine and expensive pizza. But like the old saying goes, Good pizza ain't cheap and cheap pizza ain't good. Wine: Nice selection- they sell half-glasses for half the price of a full glass which is not on the menu. Was told this by the bartender after I was contemplating another $12 glass of Cab Beer: A small list of Italian and Michigan craft beers Food: We tried the Mista salad which was very good. The salad seemed very fresh and the balsamic dressing was not disappointing. We enjoyed the Sanita pizza which is their version of a vegetable pizza and the Misto Salumi which is their four meat pizza. Both were great. The pizza is not heavy and the wood oven adds something to the pizza that is unique. Lastly, just say yes to dessert, the cannoli was one of the best I have had.

You had me at Red wine slushie! They are delicious. The pizzas are amazing. Wonderful salads. I highly recommend the piatto as an appetiser. It is an assortment of Italian cured meats, cheeses, olives and other tantalising selections. The best and freshest mozzarella cheese I have ever tasted. Go early if you can otherwise you may have to wait awhile for a table. Wonderful food and service.

Grabbed two pizzas carry out tonight. Margherita & the Veroma. Crust is awesome. Chewy & Crunchy at the same time. Both pizzas were excellent.

Came to this place for the first time after a friend recommended it. They have the most amazing gluten free pizza. Certified by authentic Italian ingredients. Fresh and amazing. Highly recommended! Some of the best pizza in town!

I only eat authentic Italian pizzas (3 trips to Italy, mostly for food, over the past 4 years), so I was sooo happy to come across this place a few weeks ago. While it's definitely cheaper than a plane ticket, it's still too expensive for me to go here on a regular basis. But the pizza bufalina margherita was spot on. It tasted just like it did a few months ago in Rome. Yum! Thin crust, delicious but not too much sauce, perfect bufalina mozzarella. My boyfriend had the pizza diavola, which is my favorite pizza to get when I'm actually in Italy. Sadly, it didn't taste as good as it does over there. No one can seem to get that spiciness just right... But the margherita was so spot on--that alone thrills me. I can't tell you how much I love authentic Italian pizza (I don't like other kinds, sadly).

After walking past and looking through the window many times, my husband and I finally came in for dinner. We sat at the bar and were greeted by two friendly and knowledgable servers. We really liked the cozy interior, and the food was great. We tried the pizza with brussel sprouts and pancetta and had a few glasses of nice red wine. We will be back to try the margherita pizza (adding mushrooms and pepperoni like the savvy dinners next to us did). Sorry we hadn't tried it sooner. Also very reasonably priced.

this place is AWESOME, through and through! you may have to wait for a table, but it's totally worth it for the cozy, quaint, yet comfortably romantic environment! my only wish is that they were open on sundays (better yet, saturdays at noon and sundays at noon for brunch...it would be the perfect brunch spot)!!

Was referred by Ian at Hilton Garden Inn ( he is also a foodie, and would never steer you wrong). Sat at bar where owner took great care of me - had the Mango Moscato and Margarita pizza. No room for the cannoli however returned weeks later and took friends, made sure to try the cannoli then. The smell alone when you walk in is worth the visit, the pizza crust is how is should be - perfect!

Cozy and romantic looking setting if a bit noisy. It works if you are into wine, salad type items and some pizza. We sat in a half booth and were happy. We started with spiedini, oven roasted prosciutto wrapped fresh mozzarella served on a bed of arugula. Mmmm fresh and tasty. Nice to sip some wine and relax a bit with. I had a bit of something called Barbara (a happy recommended red) and I thought it paired nicely with the various items I ate but my husband scoffs that no one in Italy drinks wine with pizza. He stuck with a diet Coke. Pffft. For my main I had the Bufalina pizza - San Marzano tomatoes (a must!), imported mozzarella di bufala, fresh basil. Having read Liz R.'s review I asked for extra basil up front and they graciously accomodated me...I am a basil hog. Crispy enough and full of flavor. I liked. I was tipsy though so keep that in mind. James went with a Misto Salumi and requested no sausage, no problem they seemed to have given him more of the other items as his pizza was well topped. Extra cheese as requested as well. Gosh we are troublesome but they did handle special requests well. He liked his too. Not cheap but quality. It made for a nice night out.

Not sure why they claim to be a "cellar", as their wine list left a lot to be desired. Waitress was uninformed (and probably not old enough) to give us accurate suggestions on the wine. Not impressed, but I'll give it another go sometime.

Cellar 849 has a great atmosphere! Decoration is cozy, tables are also fairly close together. Funghi pizza is delicious as are the salads. We come here all the time (my husband and I). We've celebrated a few birthdays with large groups as well as smaller groups of friends and were always able to get a table. Sometimes there is a wait and there isn't a ton of waiting room but it's worth it because the pizzas are awesome! Wine selection is decent as well. We've had the same two or so servers everytime we go and they are great! The pizza style desserts are also really good.

I really enjoy Cellar 849. I love the arugula pizza and find the wine selection to be solid in a middle-of-the-road kind of way. My favorite dish on the menu? The appetizer Spiedini. YUM! The mozzarella has that yummy gooey warmth to it and it is encircled by wonderful prosciutto. Seriously. It is not to be missed. My only complaint (and this is no doubt a good thing for the owners) is that when it gets crowded, it gets really, really loud. If you haven't been here, you should really try it. You won't be disappointed!

a solid 3.5-4 rating. My girlfriend and I ordered the goat cheese flatbread and the prosciutto e rucola pizza. The wood fire bread is absolutely amazing. The goat cheese flatbread was a little disappointing for my girlfriend because she loves goat cheese (could've had more toppings) but the bread just made it so tasty! The pizza was really good. It had the same woodfire bread and was topped with a heaping mound of fresh arugula and thinly sliced prosciutto. The service was great, good food, would definitely come back again

Let's start out by saying its 8 pm on a Friday night. But... It's 75 outside and 95 inside. The fans are moving slow and the air conditioning is off. Next the bottle of white wine was brought to the table at room temp as was my beer. Had to ask for ice in the bucket. The place smelled great. Pizza came out with and was very runny. The tell this is the way it is served. Won't be back!

The pizza is great but never post special menu if "sold out"! Delete the menu from the chuck board! I wish more options on pizza size and personal size did't work for us!!!

I was there with a very large group, and there were other large groups, but this could also be a very cozy, romantic spot. They serve all their own wines and house made pizzas. I thought both the wine and the food was pretty darn amazing, even though I was eating and drinking gradually over the course of the evening between chit-chat with friends. They also had a lovely live musician on this Thursday night and was pretty full by 7:00. The pizza was incredible and felt very authentically Italian. It's a super thin, crispy crust that's not overpowered with cheese but full of powerful flavor! The service was great and the atmosphere is really charming and a great place to waste hours away drinking wine and talking with friends. Great little spot in Plymouth!

What a cute little spot - cozy and romantic. It's a small space, so when we got there (on a Saturday night) all tables were full. We went and had a drink in the bar across the street, came back a while later, and were seated. I didn't study the menu too much, friends I was there with had both eaten here before and I trusted there recommendations as far as which pizza and wine we would get for the table. Dinner ended up being a margherita pizza with added olives. Beautiful thin crust with the flavor you only get from wood fire...fresh mozarella and sparing olives let the taste of the herbs shine through. This is the first time in recent memory that I have eaten 3 pieces of pizza and not left pregnant with a food baby (damn you delicious Detroit style deep dish!) - refreshing. Our server gave us tastings of 3 different wines, and we ended up going with a raspberry (I loved the green apple wine, but the raspberry was good too and I got out-voted by my dining companians). I'm certainly no wine conniseur, but I know what I like, and all the wines we sampled were delicious and unique. I saw on their wine menu that they offer the option of creating your own wine and purchasing it by the batch - I am not in the market for such a thing but for someone looking for a cool, special sort of gift, you can choose your own combination of grapes and flavors and purchase a batch of 200-some bottles (complete with custom label) for what turns out to be only about $10 a bottle. Not at all bad pricing for what we got, either - one pizza and one bottle of wine sufficed for the three of us ladies, and splitting the bill only cost us $8 each. We had no leftovers, but it served for a perfect meal before heading out for a little nightlife. If I find myself back in Plymouth, I'll make it a point to stop in again.

Agree with others...this place can be very loud and it is a little cramped. Also agree with Lisa O. review about wines. Nice selection here and very affordable. I avoided this place for a long time because I WAS a loyal fan of Grape Expectations until they went full bar on me. I know why Lisa did it but it ruined the wine bar atmosphere. We tried this place and had a very enjoyable dinner. Appetizer, salad and pizza were all very good. All large enough for two people. Very unique combos for pizzas, Menu is small enough to be manageable. Service was very attentive on the night we went. Was told by staff that this was slowest night of week and that weekends were very noisy and crowded. We will be back to try other wines and pizzas.

5 stars for the pizza and cool vibe of the place minus 1 star for the numerous fruit flies attacking us at the bar and for the bartender that stood in front of us most of the meal texting and surfing the web on her phone nice california cab. seemed like a decent selection of wines, by the bottle and the glass. bartender guy was most helpful in suggesting wine, and I like that he let the patrons try the bottle before they ordered it. a nice touch not seen too often. appetizer was the buratta special and it was delicious. the accompanied quick fired cherry tomato and arugula in balsalmic was delicious; main complaint was a bit skimpy on the crostini. just 5 pieces of bread on the appetizer. delicious white pizza with perfect arugula and wonderful proscuitto ( both added after the pie came out of the oven) . the crust was really nice. light and crispy on the outside with wonderful wood fired flavor, and inside was nice and tender but no hint of heaviness. the entire place has this wonderful aroma of the wood grill but also of the wonderful herbs. I couldn't narrow it down, but it was fragrant and perfect. the place had the vibe of being managed/owned by somebody who really put a lot of their heart and soul into the restaurant. very clean and wonderfully decorated. I was a bit perplexed about the constant fruit fly assault at the bar. perhaps it was because the front door was open but that's always a concern to me and though we came at 430 and we were about the only people there and they were overstaffed, I cannot excuse employees standing in plain view of customers texting like the lady bartender did the entire stay. I wanted to assume the role of manager and send her home for the day. solid establishment. I would return and do a quick look for flies and if none were in formation would not hesitate to order more delicious pizza from this quaint wonderful pizzeria and wine bar

Another great meal. Howdy All: I hope you are well. I have to admit I have had some good meals lately and am thankful. Cellar 849 did not dissapoint. My companion and I pulled into downtown Plymouth on a Friday night and found a parking spot close by. Proceeded in and found a table by the window. The waitress was kind and prompt and we ordered a bottle of their Rioja wine because it was cheaper by the bottle and they would recork for us to take home. We ordered the Margherita with some Sopressata on it. The pizza was quick, and quite tasty and a good amount for two. After the pizza we split a cannoli that was fresh and oh so wonderful, will go back for another of these and to try another pizza. Great place. Best regards, tony

Excellent! A true standout among the 8 trillion "gourmet pizza" restaurants. Wonderful, Italian-centric, wine list that has a ton of fairly priced varieties. The staff is extremely friendly, quiet (in a good way) and attentive. The pizza offerings are unique and the three we sampled were cooked perfectly and offered very different experiences. My favorite was Spacca Napoli, but the Funghi and the Prosciutto e Rucola were also very worthwhile. Good portion sizes. The only downside is that the place does get very busy, especially on the weekends, and since wine is typically consumed slower than other drinks the wait for tables can be a bit long. Definitely going back.

Visited the restaurant for the first time on a Saturday night with my husband. We arrived at 5:30ish to avoid the rush - and that didn't work too well. There is no host/ hostess when you arrive or a sign letting you know that someone will seat you. So there was an awkward few minutes when we weren't sure what to do, as no staff acknowledged us. When they did, we waited for a table in the back of the restaurant for about 5 minutes and then we were seated. So, after the initial confusion, things got better. It is a small space, and noisy - but the food is very good. Our server wasn't all that helpful with the wine list though - describing wines as complex or having strong character. I'm pretty wine savvy and that was just vague and confusing. The wine we did try was good. The artichoke dip was excellent - lots of rosemary and garlic. The rustic salad easily fed two people. And the pizza was exceptional. We tried the "white" quattro formaggi . Soooo good! The only other snafu - was that six people sat next to us at a table top that was obviously meant for four, and they reserved it in advance. So, tight quarters for a little bit. Still, the food was so good - I would put up the chaos again.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
