Beautiful and quaint place to stay. Here off season so it's quiet. Charlie is very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and the house is well kept. If you are looking for a quiet stay this is the place. Awesome location near marginal way. Will definitely come back.

My husband and I and another couple stayed here recently for a long weekend and this place went way beyond our expectations. The innkeeper, Rod was a warm and friendly host who did everything he could to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. The rooms are lovely, beds super comfortable and it's spotless. The proximity to the beach is great and they provide (free of charge!), beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and a fridge stocked with ice water, soda a juices to take along. They served wine and tasty, light appetizers on the front porch Saturday evening and we were served delicious full breakfasts each morning also on the front porch (there is a cute little dining room when weather isn't cooperating) cooked by the innkeeper (all included in the price). Most times when you visit a place with as much to do and see as Ogunquit, the lodging is not the focus, but this place really enhanced the entire trip for all 4 of us.
This is a wonderful place. Right in the center of the action. Really wonderful place. Short walk to beaches and restaurants. Go to SoZap!
The owners & the staff are very friendly & the breakfast is wonderful. They are in the center of town & is walking distance to almost everything.. I highly recommend it. We will be coming back again soon.

Puffin Inn

Reviews:
The Puffin is one of the best B&B's we've stayed at (Summer 2013). We refer to it fondly as the "standard" now whenever we're disappointed by other B&B's during our travels. The Puffin's hosts, Michele and Tim, are extremely warm and welcoming yet very real-life and relatable -- like instant friends (well, friends who offer you wine when you sit on the porch or prepare you cookies in the evening). Breakfast was scrumptious; having two options is great, especially if you share with a fellow houseguest and order both options! The location is a bit removed from (and quiet than) the charming ambiance of the downtown area, but still walkable (~0.5mi) if you like. We even walked to the public beach area, but that took about 30min (as opposed to the even-more-gorgeous Marginal Way path which you can access from downtown). Friends stayed in 3rd-floor Room 8, which we liked better than our Room 7 (8's wall-long windows on opposite sides of the room offer a beautifully-lit space and feeling of openness, plus Room 8 seems a bit bigger). Other friends stayed in 1st-floor Room 1, which is directly adjacent to the office and entrance, with windows looking onto the seating area of the front porch, so in Room 1 you will definitely keep your blinds and windows shut and get woken up at breakfast time (and likely with people coming in and out or talking out on the porch during summer months). It would be nice to be able to see the ocean from the home, but regardless, what a wonderful experience!
Heavenly in Oguncuit. Escaped corporate mania to the Puffin for a week last Sept. and can't wait to go back. Mark and Steve are the perfect hosts. Beautifully elegant (yet comfy) rooms; fabulous breakfasts; quiet, calming atmosphere. Perfectly located. This place is worth every dime!
We stayed in the carriage house and loved it. The room was super clean, spacious, and charming. They have two breakfast choices - a sweet one and a savory one (one day it was cinnamon french toast and and a broccoli frittata). Plus there's granola and fresh fruit. Mark and Steve are charming and knowledgeable, and it's a short walk to Main Street. We chose them based on online reviews and would absolutely go back again.

My wife and I like to get away in the seasons. We stumbled upon a not so hidden gem in the heart of down town Ogunquit. Apparently a new owner took over as the place was decorated with more class than the website showed and everything had been freshly painted with much better brighter colors. I got talking to the inn keeper who turns out to be a class act chef. Me being a chef myself I do not give rave reviews on chefs but oh boy can this gentleman put together fresh food. He gives breakfast as part of the cost of the room rental. He does an exotic breakfast with fruit cup but if you are not feeling exotic he does some toned down things like blueberry pancakes with wild Maine maple syrup. I was feeling exotic and he presented my wife and myself with a fabulous fried egg, creamy polenta and roasted asparagus delight. The following day we had a roasted veg frittata. Amazing, fresh and wonderfully delicious. He also has coffee and tea with fresh baked items in the lobby 24 hrs. He provides glasses of wine and a late moon snack. Sometimes he does a drink of the day like frozen mango margaritas. YUM! The prices vary depending on the accommodations but I would venture to say that the cost goes from 80 to 150 per night off season then probably 120 to 220 per night in season. Feel free to chat it up with him as there is nothing about the town or surrounding towns that he can't provide you with info on. I won't stay anywhere else. The inn is a dream and the inn keeper is a class act. Love this place.
Great B&B with the emphasis on both B's! Anthony was a great host and made us feel at home. We stayed in room 3 which had a comfortable King sized bed with an antique four post frame that was at least 3 feet off the ground. My wife is still talking about how comfortable it was. Anthony is a great cook and his breakfast surpassed our expectations with choices like vegetable frittatas and eggs florentine. Can't wait for our next visit.
We stayed here this past weekend in room number 1 at the top if the stairs. It was the coziest and smallest room at the inn. We noticed there was vacancy when we checked in and asked to see the other rooms but once Anthony showed us the room it was fine. The room looks much better than the website shows, nicely painted and better linens and much brighter. Anthony the owner is a chef and he always has a snack in the coffee and tea area for you. There is hot water for tea and a Keriug available all of the time. Breakfast was served on the side porch between 8:30 and 9:30 and the portions were huge and very good. One morning we had eggs with roasted vegetables and risotto and we also tried the blintzes with berry sauce(yummy). The next morning was homemade hash with eggs and also pumpkin ale pancakes. Anthony's mom helps out and she is a ball of fire and just full of information especially about dining. Very nice lady. Our bed wasn't made for some reason after the first night and I wasn't sure if this was their policy or they just forget and we didn't want to ask. That was the only miss. Otherwise it's a very nice place and spotlessly clean and a very easy walk into town and the beach. This was a much better experience than Bourne B & B off route 1 and Shore Rd where we stayed last year. The yard is nicely maintained.

Cove Cafe is my favorite breakfast spot in Ogunquit. This family-owned diner is warm and cozy and the service is always top-notch. The omelets are wonderful - the Crab Cake Benedict - amazing. Why would you ever go anyplace else?
This place is great! Perfect quick breakfast for our last day. Our 3 year old was perfectly comfortable. The price was a bonus! No real wait. They turn tables quickly. Totally beats the wait at the place up the road!
Delicious!!! It's been a few days already and I'm still thinking about how good that meal was. My kids want me to drive back through Ogunquit on our way home so we can eat there again!

Patience is good and so is the food. Tiny staff means if they are busy it may take a couple minutes for her to get to you. However, she greeted us when we walked in and came to take our order as soon as she had the two orders in front of us out. Once the order was in the food was up fast, hot, fresh and delicious. We had the massaman curry and drunken noodles. Yum to both! The thai tea was great too!
Pleasantly surprised! Not fancy but clean, fresh food and delicious! Excellent spring rolls and red curry! Our new favorite Thai restaurant! Great for takeout.
Okay in all honesty this review is only based on one dish, but whatever. I just got take out and it is so delicious I am writing this review while eating. I got drunken noodles with chicken. It is SO good. Super flavorful and just spicy enough. Full of fresh colorful veggies and chicken, which isn't dried out at all which is hard to find in Thai food. Huge portion. Super good deal, only $8 for lunchtime. What took me so long to try this place??

You cannot go here and not get the Pei Mussels! Make sure to get extra bread as you will want to soak up every drop! All the food is excellent and is a very cozy dinner space for you and your partner.
Excellent food. We started with the French onion soup and the scallops wrapped in bacon. Both had amazing flavor and were perfect cooked. I had the salmon over creamy risotto and a saltambucca fennel sauce. My better half had shrimp scampi. It was all super tasty and an overall great experience. I wish the service was a bit slower. The entrees came out right after the appetizers. Would have been nice to be able to languish over the experience a bit more. However, I am just getting nit picky, if it was too long I would complain the other way.
This is easily one of the better restaurants in Ogunquit, despite not specializing in lobster. My 8-year-old was happy to order a breaded chicken breast over buttered pasta. The 3 adults, however, had appetizers & entrees and couldn't finish anything. While prices are a bit high ($22+), the portions were enormous. We easily could have done with just appetizers, for less than half the cost. The mussels were the BEST & are a large enough portion for an entree. The sauce is leeks & smoked bacon & delicious. For $12, it's a bargain. The clam chowder is rich & perfectly suited to the chillier nights. We also tried the escargot, which were buttery & redolent of garlic. Our entrees were the chili-brown sugar tuna (served rare), the crab-stuffed haddock, and the shrimp scampi. All were terrific, but far more food than we could manage. We all have ample lunches for tomorrow.

Abalonia Inn

Reviews:
We really enjoyed our brief stay at the Abalonia Inn. We were greeted with an extremely friendly innkeeper who gave us a tour and all kinds of info about Ogunquit that came in handy for our explorations. The place is clean and well-appointed, though, sadly, we did not have time to enjoy the salt-water pool or the fire pit. Its price and location are perfect - easy walking distance from everything (including the beach), and right by a trolley stop if you're feeling lazy. It is a very gay-friendly establishment, though as a straight couple we didn't feel out of place either. Though it's not a bed and breakfast, it had a very personal feel, and in the morning you can find coffee, juice, and muffins to eat in the lobby. The walls and ceiling are thick enough that you don't have to hear your neighbors' conversations. The only two things I would change would be that our room was just too bright at night - outside lighting filters in through windows with white blinds and through frosted windows on the door, so some curtains would really help. Also, the sheets were just a little bit scratchy. If I find myself back in Ogunquit, I highly doubt I would bother to stay anywhere else. The Abalonia Inn was just right, and with some light-blocking curtains, or at least a sleep mask to block out the light, it would be just perfect!
We stayed at the Abalonia this past weekend. It was an awesome surprise! I had booked on-line and was not familiar with the area. So happy to discover that it was within walking distance to the town AND the beach! Jimmy was the best host. Our room was just what we needed and the room location was ideal. We had our own mini deck and we were right by the heated pool. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Ogunquit!
My husband and I chose Ogunquit, Maine as our honeymoon getaway. We wanted something that was quaint, charming and close to home (Massachusetts). We had driven past the beautiful village of Ogunquit before, but were never able to find parking as it can be crowded. Once we decided on Ogunquit, we needed to find a hotel, and boy, are there many. However, one stood out to us above the rest, The Abalonia Inn. We spent two wonderful days at the Abalonia Inn from August10-August 12, 2015. Where to begin? First, The Abalonia inn has a PERFECT location. It is within a 4-5 minute walk to the beach, and a 1 minute walk to all of the shops. It is literally in the HEART of the town. Second, it is absolutely charming. The house is a gorgeous multi-level white house, full of nooks and crannies, porches and balconies. It is stunning. We had room #4, a king size bed, a private little porch and a decent sized bathroom. The room was beautiful, with a gorgeous rustic headboard, lovely quilt and antique furniture to honor the history of the home. The beautiful exposed beams remind you that home has a story all of its own. Simply a stunning space. Of course, modern amenities like a fridge, AC unit and a flat screen TV, help make it even more comfortable. Oh, it was also nice and clean! I appreciated that Alyssa (one of the inn keepers) double checked the room to make sure it was perfect before she took us in, quality service. Third, the property is well kept. There is an awesome fire pit at the front of the house surrounded by blue adirondack chairs. My husband and I sat out one night and just people watched as we are in such a central location. Over the course of our stay, various guests sat around, drinking wine, beer and some even roasted smores. Abalonia also has an exquisite heated salt water pool. We spent almost 3 hours inside the pool. It was so lovely and relaxing. The pool has a tiny little waterfall that adds to the relaxing ambiance. Fourth, morning goodies. This is not necessarily a traditional Bed & Breakfast with the full on spread of eggs, pancakes, etc. But, Alyssa and Jimmy do provide yummy coffee, tea, juice and muffins. My husband and I would wake up every morning, head to the office/kitchen space and grab coffee, juice and muffins and take them back to the porch to eat. It was so lovely. Last, but certainly not least, the service. Alyssa and Jimmy were such great hosts! We never felt like they were bothered or annoyed when we interrupted them with questions or requests. They always helped and did so with a great attitude and smile. We often chatted with them about nearby restaurants, activities, etc and it was super helpful to have insider tips from folks who know best. I even found out that Alyssa and I went to the same college, what a small world! Overall, you can't go wrong with the Abalonia Inn. My husband and I are already planning our next getaway for the fall and we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

My husband and I each had the lobster omelet. Our waiter who was very attentive suggested the corn beef hash. We ordered it as a side. Although the omelet was good (small portion) it was only served with toast. I think for the $15.00 price it should have been served with something else perhaps home fries. The corm beef hash was very good but at the cost of $7.00 for a side order I thought we were getting a serving instead we received a tasting at best. We were not hungry so the small servings were OK; but considering the price this will NOT be on my list of recommendations to friends and family.
Fantastic breakfast bringing local comforts to the forefront of your taste buds! Irish Eggs Benedict featured Corned Beef hash that did not weigh the dish down but elevated it to a savory delight. Cinnamon Sourdough French Toast was the perfect accompaniment with a sweet note to compliment the Benedict... No Arnold, they played very well together. Don't miss the $5.00 Bloody Mary's!!!
Amore Breakfast was the perfect Sunday morning ease into the day dinning that we had in mind for our wonderful weekend in Ogunquit. Our delightful breakfast experience began with a warm greeting and an offer to have a cup of fresh brewed coffee as we waited for our table, outside on the patio watching the world wake up on a dreamy Sunday morning in Maine. I was especially grateful for choices: We bought yummy walnut topped blueberry muffins to nibble on, while we waited. They have a take out section and I was happy just to be able to get some blood sugar going as we sat in the warming sun. They have a great selection of guests and the parking to go with it all! We saw bike racks, dog bowls, parking spaces for cars and outdoor benches and chairs for us pedestrians. I liked the little gimme's they offered even before we sat down. The breakfast selection is extensive, all made to order with glutten free options. This is becoming a more important issue for my wife and I. My wife enjoyed ordering an all white omlett with fresh fruit. She's such a goodie to shoes! I went for the eastern omlett with andoullie sausage, side order of ham and hash browns! So, I'll have to run another 5K. Service is engaging and friendly, atmosphere is white and balck checkerboard with nostalgia clinging to the walls. Charming. You feel welcomed by the people and the referral to area dinning and entertainment. They are part of the community and you feel like you are too.

This small and cozy restaurant is a great place to enjoy a fantastic meal and delicious cocktails. It's a great place to go for a romantic meal also. The "small plates to share" at the top of the menu is a great way to start your meal, and it allows you to get to experience a variety of tasty dishes. The Niçoise salad is wonderful and a great dish for two to share. The pasta dishes and the pollack were outstanding as well. Make sure to make reservations because this gem is high in demand!
It was 1995 when I ate here (this summer, in 2015). I'll bet this place was good in actual 1995, but the drink and food menus don't seem to have changed since then. We had a salmon ceviche - the salmon was definitely not fresh. Fried fish sandwich was greasy and bland. Chicken entree was dry and overcooked. We skipped desert.
Best meal we had during our visit to Ogunquit. The staff (in my opinion) is the best on the street and should be proud of themselves. Our waitress was amazing and made the experience that much better with her professionalism. This is a place where food is a little more expensive, but you are paying for quality at No. Five-0 Shore Road. The food and entire experience was good good that I would make a weekend trip to Ogunquit just to eat here.
