Cove Cafe is my favorite breakfast spot in Ogunquit. This family-owned diner is warm and cozy and the service is always top-notch. The omelets are wonderful - the Crab Cake Benedict - amazing. Why would you ever go anyplace else?

This place is great! Perfect quick breakfast for our last day. Our 3 year old was perfectly comfortable. The price was a bonus! No real wait. They turn tables quickly. Totally beats the wait at the place up the road!

Delicious!!! It's been a few days already and I'm still thinking about how good that meal was. My kids want me to drive back through Ogunquit on our way home so we can eat there again!

We were greeted with a 1 hour wait for breakfast at the highly-rated Amore, so we went back down the road towards Perkin's Cove and ended up having breakfast here after a more reasonable 15 minute wait. The inside is cozy with varnished wood beams and coffee mugs depicting lobster cartoons. The atmosphere was very genial, with locals having neighborly conversations across tables and the waitstaff bustling about cheerfully. The food was excellent. The pancakes were feather-light, the roasted potatoes perfectly seasoned with rosemary, and the lobster in my omelette was so fresh it tasted like it had crawled out of the sea and onto my plate. My only iffy moment was the outside of the omelette was a little overcooked, giving it that weird burnt-egg flavor. But everyone else's food (six of us sampling just about everything) was great so I can overlook it. I was a little amped up from too much coffee already, so I opted for tea -- extra points for decaf tea and tons of herbal options.

I was walking to the Amore Cafe for an early morning breakfast, but got caught in a downpour, so I ducked into the Cove Cafe instead, and boy am I glad I did. It was so cozy, inviting, relaxing and charming, with pinewood panelled walls. The food had a homespun touch which featured a lot of seafood omelettes and fritattas. I had the crabcakes and came back the next day for the lobster omelette. If you want to treat yourself for breakfast in Ogunquit, this is the place to go!

Previous reviewers are right: family-run Cove Cafe has the best breakfast in Ogunquit. Located in a cute little house just outside Perkins Cove, this breakfast joint is friendly, quaint, and serious about grub. They whip up an amazing array of omelets, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, and more. In a town where most establishments make enough money by feeding rubbery eggs to clueless tourists looking to pass the time until their lobster dinner, Cove Cafe treats breakfast with the respect it deserves. The quality of the food was superb. The bacon, eggs, and waffles were excellent, providing just the right amount of fatty deliciousness to kick start your beach morning, and the home fries were seasoned to perfection (a lost art among short order cooks). The little kitchen is overseen by Jeb the paterfamilias, who incidentally looks like he might spend the winter teaching 19th century English literature at the University of Southern Maine. While you wait for your waffle with fresh berries, walnuts, vanilla butter, and His Majesty Real Maine Maple Syrup, you can read the epic Dufresne family newsletter on the back of the breakfast menu and get intimately acquainted with their professional accomplishments, athletic exploits, hobbies, children, friends, and pets. Sadly, though, they do not specify whether they have an ancestor who made a legendary jailbreak from a Maine prison in the 1960s.

Excellent breakfast, perfect portions, quality instead of quantity! We had the eggs benedict, and the lobster benedict, came with a small side of potatoes. It was cooked perfectly and the lobster was sweet and meaty.

this breakfast was phenomenal! just as good as one of the more famous breakfast joints around here. it's not cheap though - $40 (without tip) for a crab/spinach/bacon/cheddar omelette with potatoes and toast, a strawberry/blueberry/banana/pecan waffle with excellent whipped cream and a side of maine maple syrup, a side of ham, and 3 coffees. staff was normal friendly, and there was no wait for a table :)

Year after year we head to Ogunquit and we always look forward to having breakfast at the Cove Cafe so we can indulge in the Amazing Blueberry Waffles with mascarpone Heaven!!! This is by far the BEST breakfast place! We look forward to it and it never lets us down. Excellent again Sept 2015 Kudo's to the cook

Wow breakfast only and what a treat. Crab cakes, scrambled eggs and home fries. Service and food were very good. NOT your typical overpriced Perkins Cove faire. Go there!

Our favorite breakfast place, and the line running out the door speaks for itself. Great menu selections, and the coffee's very good. I particularly love the lobster omelet; my husband most recently enjoyed the Fisherman's Breakfast (ironic name!). Service is friendly and fairly attentive. Charming. clean decor. Another place to sit by an open window, and people watch :) Recommend.

I was in town for the weekend and heard rave reviews about this quaint little restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the wait staff was great. The crab cakes and blue berry pancakes were the best I've ever had. It was a great experience!

We went to the Cove Cafe twice this week during our stay in Ogunquit! We LOVE how fresh everything is especially that it is all made to order. The coffee is the best way to start a meal in my opinion, always hot and freshly brewed. Everything from the blueberry pancakes, to the crab cake Benedict is awesome. We cant wait to come back next summer!

We have been to Ogunquit many, many, many times. We don't live very far away and due to living in a tourist town, we don't usually get to go out and be tourists until Spring or Fall. There is no parking and you're paying such close attention to the oncoming cars and people walking on a semi-narrow road that bends, you can easily miss this gem. From the outside, it looked like a place no one knew about. You open the door and it's packed! How did I not know about this place before?! While it is small and in close quarters, they have the tables strategically placed that once you sit down, you don't feel crammed in. Love the set up. It must be a local favorite! The service and the food was EXCELLENT!! The blueberry syrup is soooo good! My husband loved his omelet and the homefries were delicious. I don't like potatoes and even I liked them. That says A LOT!! The fresh, grilled (homemade) blueberry muffin and BLT were FANTASTIC. I can't wait to go back!

#1: they let me take my coffee in... Two thumbs up on that alone! Family owned business, food was excellent, service was great! Small but cozy about eight tables and some barstools. Check this place out next time in Ogunquit! Blueberry muffins and pancakes were excellent....

After reading the good reviews we gave this place a go. It certainly wasn't bad but 2 orders of french toast, bacon and eggs and a side of sausage was a fifty dollar bill with the tip. The service was good and there was nothing wrong with the food. I should have asked because I didn't see it but they don't appear to have a children's menu and even if they did, the waitress didn't let on when we ordered the $9 french toast for our daughter. What is the sense in bringing a six year old kid 3 thick slices of toast, covered in half a pint of berries with at least a cup of whipped cream. Everywhere you go in this area there are brochures about feeding the hungry. But yet like most restaurants they have no problem wasting copious amounts of food. A $4 single piece of french toast is all a kid needs. If you have a fat wallet this place would be FANTASTIC for breakfast.

This place is awesome! It looks like it's family run, but not sure. Everybody was so in sync with each other. The food is DELICIOUS! The oatmeal molasses toast is unique and SO SO good. The blueberry pancakes divine. We both had omelets and both ate everything on our plate!!! VERY crowded, but a well oiled machine.

A perfect breakfast. I had the special Belgian waffle with bananas, strawberries and blueberries with marscapone on top. Absolutely perfect. So much so I went back again and had it again. It was better the second time! We are going there again tomorrow and every morning on our vacation. I don't need to try somewhere else when I find exactly what I want.
