This small and cozy restaurant is a great place to enjoy a fantastic meal and delicious cocktails. It's a great place to go for a romantic meal also. The "small plates to share" at the top of the menu is a great way to start your meal, and it allows you to get to experience a variety of tasty dishes. The Niçoise salad is wonderful and a great dish for two to share. The pasta dishes and the pollack were outstanding as well. Make sure to make reservations because this gem is high in demand!

It was 1995 when I ate here (this summer, in 2015). I'll bet this place was good in actual 1995, but the drink and food menus don't seem to have changed since then. We had a salmon ceviche - the salmon was definitely not fresh. Fried fish sandwich was greasy and bland. Chicken entree was dry and overcooked. We skipped desert.

Best meal we had during our visit to Ogunquit. The staff (in my opinion) is the best on the street and should be proud of themselves. Our waitress was amazing and made the experience that much better with her professionalism. This is a place where food is a little more expensive, but you are paying for quality at No. Five-0 Shore Road. The food and entire experience was good good that I would make a weekend trip to Ogunquit just to eat here.

If you're in town for their Sunday brunch don't miss it. The reason I'm dinging them a star is for the home fries. Unlike Bessie's, which were basically boiled potatoes, these were like brown colored cube-shaped chips. My eggs benedict was tasty and husband's omelet was also quite tasty.

I don't give 5 stars often but my experience here was fantastic. Our waiter was fabulous; she was ready with the spot on recommendations when we asked and what recommendations they were. Do not miss the Truffled Lobster en Croute appetizer; it is incredible. The cocktails are great too. I highly recommend the ginger, coconut martini....yummy. Too bad we were too full to order a dessert but my guess is that they too are awesome. I am looking forward to that pleasure sometime soon.

I'm so glad the rude owner of Angelina's "Italian" reminded me to review this place. After a disastrous meal at Angelina's, we came here the next night. The difference is night & day. Five-O not only has fabulous food, but the staff are friendly, helpful & quick. They make you feel like they appreciate you. I had the bolognese, which was cooked to perfection unlike the "Italian" restaurant. Go figure, they actually knew to drain the pasta! No watery dishes here! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Wow! The whole dining experience was so fabulous, I am short on words. Our dinner beautifully ended with the Maine blueberry pastry with blueberry gelato and olive oil and orange cake. Staff is very warm, friendly, and happy, ensuring you feel as though you are their only customer.

Really professional service with polished upscale food in an elegant atmosphere. We chose three items from a large selection of starters. Each item was easily shared by three. We had amazing chicken liver pate and tasty warm big green olives. We didn't like the dry, fishy croquet. We also didn't like the tasteless cold bread but the olive tapenade was fantastic. Next I had a hearty cup of vegetarian chili. My incredible pan fried pollock atop risotto was the best thing I ate while in Ogunquit. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert. Make sure you have an advance reservation at No Five-O because they're not easy to get in to.

We are frequent Ogunquit visitors. We spent a long day on the beach and found ourselves on a Saturday night without dinner reservations, which is a challenge in Ogunquit. Small town with lots of week-end visitors. We decided to take a chance on getting a seat at the bar at 5-0. We were delighted that a small round table in the bar area was available and we were able to eat right away. We both know our way around the kitchen, so much so that we often opt to dine at home because the food is just better than most restaurants. 5-0 was an exception. Every part of the dining experience was exceptional - friendly host staff, attentive and food knowledgeable bartender and most importantly, really great food. We like to share our meals and have several courses. We started with the small plates and split chicken liver pate (one of the best I've had, including well thought accompaniments, veal meatballs that melted in our mouths and a hard cheese with a wonderful chutney. We followed that with one order of pasta which the kitchen split for us - raviolis filled with braised pork, topped with exotic mushrooms and a marsala sauce (so good we had to ask for more bread to soak up every last drop of sauce. For our "entree" we split the 5-0 burger, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with a most excellent aioli. It is not very often that we can leave a restaurant with nothing but a positive experience. Definitely one of our new OGT favorites (which is great because our long-time favorite Provence has closed). Bon appetit!

Outstanding... simply outstanding No. Five-0 Shore Road is located just a minute or two from Ogunguit center and a few minutes from Perkin's Cove. Specializing in new-style Italian cuisine, it is a vibrant and lively restaurant clearly we liked by visitors and residents of the area. With free valet parking, getting there is easy. The dining room is contemporary and warm. The staff are courteous and bent over backwards to accommodate our little daughter. To start we had the trio of small plates which was a great deal at $12. We ordered the chicken pate, artichoke arancini, and the proscuitto. All were delicious and served with a warm bread basket. The arancini were warm and crispy on the outside with melted cheese on the inside. The pate had a great taste and came with toast. Next up, we had the summer greens salad and the caesar salad. Both were very fresh and not overly flavored. My wife ordered the branzino for her entree. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, and served with delicious kalamata olives. I had the pork and mushroom agnolotti which were fantastic. We had a side of the truffled corn which was phenomenal. We capped off the meal with the mascarpone and ricotta cheese cake which came with lemon curd, strawberry compote, and strawberry sauce. The cheese cake was slightly sweet and creamy. Just perfect. Overall, we loved everything about No. Five-0 Shore Road. It was the perfect break from our binging on lobster rolls.

I have not tried the food, but the drinks at the bar are pretty good, especially the flavored martinis. My favorite flavors are the blueberry and pomegranate. I spent New Year's Eve here, second time in the last few years. They always put on a nice party with complementary champagne.

For a great tasting burger in Ogunquit that has a nice atmosphere this is the place. Yes it has other upscale meals but for $12 you get a nice thick burger cooked the way you want it with a side of fries. Best bang for your buck in this town!

I had an amazing first experience here, but my second was not good at all. I had the cioppino and the seafood was gritty and the tomato sauce was average. There wasn't any starch or pasta either. I was very excited going into this place, but left quite disappointed.

We had a fantastic anniversary meal on Thursday. The blueberry martini was the best ever and all three courses were fantastic. Service was great. I would recommend this place for any special occasion.

We dined at Five-O over Memorial Day weekend. The food was delicious - we ordered the mushroom ragout, proscuitto, fried oysters and Truffled Lobster en Croute. The small plates were pretty generous for 2 people, more than we expected (which is why we ordered 3 small plates in addition to the 1 appetizer). We asked our waitress what her recommendations were, and she was spot-on with everything. Her suggestions were perfect, and we couldn't be happier with our meal. (Unfortunately, our waitress' name escapes me at this time). After appetizers, we ordered the fish special (which was a Pollack) and the short ribs. Both dishes were outstanding, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. She recommended the blueberry dessert, which took an extra 10 minutes to prepare...it was well worth the wait! We highly recommend this restaurant, and hope go back when we return to the area. Thank you Five-O!

This was a really exceptional experience. My husband and I had dinner here on Valentine's Day earlier this year, during a major blizzard. The food was wonderful and the service was attentive/helpful without being overbearing. The best part, though, came at the end. The owner of our B&B had offered to give us a ride back from the restaurant due to the weather. But at the last minute, our ride fell through, and we were nervously considering walking back to the hotel in the dark. One of the servers overheard us talking and said, "No, no, you can't walk back in this weather." He notified the restaurant's owner, who gave us a ride back in his own car. They really saved the day. So -- a great business staffed and owned by people who really care about the patrons.

First, the service was great. They did a great job accommodating all the food allergies my wife and I have. But for the price and vibe of the restaurant I thought the food was just ok. My wife got some very bland fish and I had the pasta Bolognese that was decent but nothing to write home about.

Wow!! Absolutely loved it. Had the lobster bisque which was crisp, tangy and fresh. Then had the salmon risotto which was subtle but intriguing. The highlight (other than the dessert) was the cod. If it is on the menu you have to try it. It was fresh, flaky, with a mild flavoring which was immaculate. For dessert I had the chocolate Frangelico tart and the Olive oil and orange cake. Loved them both but if I had to choose one I would go with the cake. Also got a chance to meet the chef and loved his focus on sustainable fishing techniques and the edible garden he has in the back. Will definitely be back.

The food was fabulous and the staff was even better. I was able to book a later reservation online, but had wanted an earlier time. I left a comment asking to be moved up, and I received a phone call from a very pleasant Tori saying she was able to accommodate me sooner. That is great customer service!! The mood of the restaurant was warm and inviting. My waitress was very quick with orders and also friendly, knowledgable and knew the meaning of great customer service. The clam chowder was full of clams and the salad was fresh and had great flavor. The martinis didn't disappoint either!! Next time I'm in town Ill be hitting this spot for sure.

We went up to Ogunquit for a nice weekend away from Boston and we made reservation for dinner. They were very helpful over the phone and provide us a great time and table!!! Love the Pan Seared Cod and the appetizers were amazing as well. Our waitress Dina Holmes, was very cordial and help full. Her suggestions were spot on. Looking forward to visit at least one more time during the summer. :)

This is my very first review on yelp.. But I thought the service and accommodations at Five-O were noteworthy. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Five-O after a last minute recommendation by a friend. We had no reservation and no idea what kind of restaurant it was (we were dressed like we had just driven for hours through traffic). It was obviously a very busy Saturday night on a holiday weekend and the place was packed. Despite our lack of planning, our hostess greeted us warmly and discussed how to seat us with her manager. They told us that they had a table open but that it had a reservation at 8 (it was 6:40). We ordered promptly and was served promptly (2 glasses of wine, a delicious cocktail, 3 small plates, an appetizer salad and 2 entrees cost us about $100 without tip.. I think that's pretty reasonable for a higher end meal). When our entrees, our server returned and asked us graciously if we would like dessert. It was 7:55 by this point and we knew they needed the table cleared so we told her we would settle up the bill and go sit at the bar. She thanked us.. But not once during our dinner did she make us feel rushed. When we went to the bar, the manager had cleared a bar table for us to finish our cocktails and order dessert. When we went to pay for the dessert, the bartender informed us that the dessert and drinks were on the house. Both my boyfriend and I having backgrounds in the service industry, we were very impressed with the staff and the execution at No. Five-O.

A friend and I did a girls get-away spa weekend. The hotel we stayed at didn't have such a great dinner menu and a few friends recommended this place. We walked in on a Saturday night and had no problem getting a table in the dining room. The menu was very impressive. Excellent wine list... the service was on point... great atmosphere. . The bar area looked fun to hang out in for apps and drinks. I will definitely be back... just an FYI we tried a few other places that weekend for dinner, lunch and breakfast this was by far my favorite. I can't wait to return and try more of this fabulous menu

Went here for a nice dinner out with my husband, and the atmosphere was great! We were anxious to try it, as the head chef at Five-O used to work at our favorite, now-closed, restaurant in Portsmouth, NH. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and told us about the specials when we were ordering drinks. Neither of us ordered the soup of the day, but we did overhear the waitstaff telling others that the soup was changed, because the chef wasn't happy with how it came out. We were impressed by the decision. The bread was delicious (Gorgonzola butter, who knew??), and I ordered the clam chowder for an appetizer. They accommodated my husbands request to get a side of mushroom risotto as an appetizer. I was disappointed with the chowder; a coastal town should have access to amazing clams, and the menu said they are local, but they were the texture of canned clams. The rest of the chowder was good, though a bit salty. My husband loved his risotto, though! I had the gnocchi for dinner, which was really tasty, and my husband had orecchiette, which was also delicious. We didn't try anything for dessert, as we were so full! We would go back again though!

Great but a little bit pricey drinks. The food was good, but we found it pricey even by Ogunquit standards. The staff was more than friendly and very warm, but it was slow to get our food.

Absolutely delightful on all fronts! I planned a surprise dinner for my parents birthdays here. The restaurant was perfect. we had delicious, unique dishes - i had escargot to start followed by strozzapretti (oxtail ragu over homemade pasta). They were also accommodating in allowing my two younger cousins to make a more kid-friendly dish of roast veggies and pasta Alfredo which was wonderful and my uncle's cioppino was to die for! The drinks were fantastic - great wine selection.

No vegan food. They lied when we made reservation. Other food was not hot at all. Other food was undercooked and was sent back twice as inedible. Manager was not helpful. Can I give negative score? Do not eat here.

No reservation? No problem. On a busy Saturday night, they got us seated with only a short wait. Reservation next time. Solid all the way around. Gorgonzola spread and garlic Infused olive oil for the bread! Perfect. Our waiter, dan, was fantastic. I had the pork. My companion the free ranged organic chicken with risotto. Not to be missed. Everything looked good.

Very creative menu. Can't go wrong with the 5 small bite plates for $18 , each one was excellent . Nice staff , good service and very good food . Would try again .

Perfect place for a relaxing and/or romantic meal with superb cuisine and good service. The branzino was perfectly prepared with haricot verts, , red and yellow grape tomatoes, thinly sliced potatoes, and black olives. The linguini with lobster was very flavorful and satisfied long after the chunks of lobster were gone. There was a good selection of desserts, but, to my mind, the star was the chocolate mousse bombe with hazelnut marscapone. Very smooth, dark chocolate that yielded intense pleasure with every bite. If you're looking for something beyond a lobster roll and clam chowder, this is an excellent choice.

This place is amazing. Stopped in last night after a walk along Marginal Way from Perkins Cove. Tried several small bite plates. All were great, especially the Mushroom Ragout and chicken pate. We went on the have the truffle lobster en croute and steak tartare. Both were made to order and delicious. Since the items were made to order our waiter brought us amuse bouche of olive tapenade, Gorgonzola spread and garlic in oil with house made toast points. My wife also tried the house made watermelon vodka martini, and I had the Blueberry Martini. The service that Gary provided at the bar was also top notch. Great experience all around.

Do not go here if I could give it less then 1 star I would. Hosts had an attitude from the start. The server did not brother to tell us the specials or the soup of the day had to ask. These turned out to be miner problems I ordered the park chop medium half of the chop was RAW it was disgusting..

We are from Los Angeles and were driving around to find a decent place for dinner. We really got lucky with this place. The good was delicious. I had the trout and my wife had the chicken.Everything that came with both dishes was scrumptious. Don't hesitate to try this place.

We've vacationed here often, and keep coming back. Sometimes, it's just for the deserts and drinks. Order an espresso martini with no bailey's. Perfect. The staff is great and the food is fantastic. The molton cake is delicious. Definitely worth trying.

We've had two dinners here since our first review. And both of them were AMAZING. Excellent in every way. Great list of half bottles of wine. Super-killer-great deserts. Some of the best food I've ever had. Excellent service. LOVE this place.

I don't understand all of the hype? The clam chowder was very good with lits of bacon flavor. The bread served at the table was very boring , not very crusty and served cold. The papradelle with wild boar ragu was just ok, I have had it better elsewhere, and was served only warm, it sat out for awhile before it was brought to the table. The highlight of the meal was the blueberry crustada with a yummy ice cream. The waiter (joshua)did nit really sem that interested in being there at all, kind of aloof and lack luster. The place has potential and needs a bit of work in the kitchen.

This dinner was to be the highlight of our 3 nights in Ogunquit. I had made the reservation for Saturday night at 8:00, days before leaving NJ. We arrived on time and were told we would have to wait because our table hadn't been vacated yet. We were finally seated 20 minutes later. A busboy promptly showed up with water, but the waiter was no where to be found. When he finally showed, we asked if there were any specials. He brusquely responded no, just what's on the menu and walked away. Eventually he returned for the drink order. A half hour later he finally came with the drinks, apologizing for the long wait, saying the bar was backed up. Appetizers arrived and were good. No complaint there. But entrees did not arrive until 9:30. We waited so long I told the waiter I was no longer interested. I asked to see the manager and surprise, my waiter is the manager. So my complaint resulted in his being very defensive. He eventually comped our drinks and my entree (which I did not eat) and we left. If service is this bad in off season, what could it be like in the middle of summer? Save your money and go somewhere else.

Come to Ogunquit every year with family for the holidays. First time here. I had coconut ginger martini, my mother had the espresso martini, and my aunt the ginger snap martini, all three fantastic! We started with 3 small plates, the chicken pate, the fried oysters, and arancinis, all three delicious. I had the gnocchi with pumpkin purée and duck confit, delectable! My mother had the monkfish and my aunt had the lobster appetizer. The service was fantastic. The food is great, and decor was very nice. We will definitely be back!

One of the best meals I've ever had! Great server, nice space and really perfect experience. The lettuce with toasted almonds, roasted pears and lemon honey dressing is outstanding. The gnocchi was really delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant! The 3 butters for the bread were great but the bread itself could have been better.

We had an overall good experience here. We sampled 5 tapas, a few apps and a few entree. All very good with a few stand outs. The lobster en croute was stunning, along side of the escargot. Next the tuna crudo tapa and the arancini were fantastic. Lastly the orchietta and Tuna was really good except for a few over cooked parts of the tuna. Great service and a great wine list really set this place off. Give it a shot!

One star for the ice water and another for the delightful hand soap in the bathroom. Minus one star for the service, the looooonnnggg wait for our food to be fried and the food itself. If I could take away stars for how often the server (male) used the ladies' room, the horrible menu suggestions and the "Bloody Mary" I would absolutely do so. I've never reviewed before this. I wish instead of Five-o we had found a street side dead seagull and a used ketchup packet.

We dined at Five-0 right after labor day. After a week of fine dining up and down the Maine coast I can say this was as good or better than any dinner we have had and the price was very reasonable for the quality. Standouts included the Tuna Tartar, Heirloom tomatoes with buratta. For dinner we had the Gnochi and the Agnolitti and both were stellar. We will definitely be back.

Just OK. I wanted to like it. Service was mediocre. It is a bad sign when the bread basket arrives after you get your main course. The food OK. Nothing special. I have had much better at less expensive establishments. Clearly your just paying for the location and not so much the food or service.

Just sad.... Prices vs. ambience vs. competency... WTF? Dining room is louder than f***. Maybe some window treatments to soften the air? Bartender was racist. Seriously, served me, white, 48 without ID, but companion was refused service. Apparently he wasn't up to par as a vacationing southerner, as it was... To be continued...

Came to this town for a friend's bachelorette party....we thought this would be a good place because reservation was packed for a Sat night. Restaurant is located right in the middle of the town, plenty of parking in the back. When we arrived at 9pm, the place is packed. The group shared several appetizers together, all were good. Since it was our first night in Maine, everyone except for one ordered the $40 lobster. Hands down, best lobster we've had anywhere and anywhere since (we stayed a few more days and none can compete with this). The meat was so fresh, sweet, tender (melt in your mouth), yum!!! The one person who ordered pasta, also like her dish. Desserts were good, but not memorable. We stayed till about closing time(midnight). It was a great night with amazing lobster and stellar service.

Great expectations...bar area bartender great. On this night the pork was dry/overlooked. Upon alerting our waiter they promptly made a sauce hoping to mask the dryness. They offered a free desert, we declined...they took the pork dish off the bill. Bravo PS no fresh oysters :(

Really think this is a top-notch place in a central location in Ogunquit. The manager is always there to meet and greet and ask how everything was at end of the meal. The food is really wonderful and service is polite and attentive. We come every summer and really enjoy our meals here!

Five-O is expensive (around 40 / entree) and damn good. We're from NE so we know seafood. We had clam chowder, muscles, and bolognese to start. All were excellent. Tenderloin and Maine lobster for entrees. The beef was beyond any tenderloin we've had before. Tasty, juicy, tender...wow, really. The lobster was of course sweet and delicious (Maine), but that was just the beginning. The work was already done for me, it was lazy style, all buttery and accomapnied by a crab and corn caponata. Yum, yum, yum. OK, now the less fun news...with a $38 bottle of wine, $200 before gratuity. Fantastic meal, we'll be back.

Based on the reviews, I expected this place to be phenomenal but every element of the experience, from the service, down to the food/drinks, was poor. Our reservation was for 8:00pm and we were seated promptly and ordered drinks within the first five minutes or so. By 8:25 we still didn't have drinks and no one came to check on us in the meantime. Drinks came at 8:30. Seems like an awfully long time to wait on a sidecar and a vodka tonic. We got two apps (arancini w/ truffled honey, brucschetta). The arancini were lukewarm and pretty average. The bruschetta was fine. I had the veal porterhouse and my girlfriend had the hake. I ordered my porterhouse rare and it was cooked medium to medium-well. The food tasted fine, but was nothing terrific. The hake had a large portion of skin still attached. Overall, I'd say this place has potential and the menu on paper looks solid, but the execution of virtually every element of what makes a good dining experience was flawed. The entree prices are steep and if you're paying $38 an entree, you expect them to be damn good.

Caught them on a night when only the bar side of the restaurant was open so started with a drink and was given the bar menu. I was also quickly informed they do serve several dinners from the standard menu on these nights. Was with a party of four and we started with Mushroom ragout, Artichoke Arancini and Lamb meatballs appetizers. The ragout was wonderfully earthy with some shaved reggiano parmesan cheese for a little kick. I loved the Arancini with goat cheese. But the killer was the Lamb meatballs that were tastiest little morsels (don't tell my Sicilian grandmothers I said that). Seeing as we had another engagement this evening we were looking to go on the faster side. We ordered the bolognese, a salad, a burger and the lobster BLT. I can say the BLT is wonderful with fresh lobster. A real treat. Everyone else were very happy with their meals and we had great service from our bartender, Matt. He is very personable and got us out in plenty of time for our next engagement. So on a night when the full restaurant is not open we had great food, great service with a great atmosphere. Next time I am back in Ogunquit I will be here.

Went here for sunday brunch. They have A good, varied menu with something for everyone. The corned beef hash was incredible. The egg special (sunny scramble) was excellent, with fantastically cooked home fries (crispy on outside, soft on inside) and homemade jam. Everything was well seasoned. The strawberry crunch pancakes were delicious and perfectly cooked, being soft on the inside. The portions and prices were good.

Laarv spends a lot of time in Ogunquit with her companion and when she's looking for a great meal at a reasonable price she chooses Five-O. Inside tip from Laarv - sit in the bar area and take advantage of a cocktail and the bar menu pricing - you can always order off the main menu as well. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Laarv will be back for the chicken sandwich.

Always fantastic. Eat at the bar and you'll get the best service you've ever had, not to mention great specialty drinks.. But don't discount the dining room, they're awesome too. A must go in Ogunquit. Whether you're there for the small bites (all of them are fantastic), a diverse bar menu, or a full meal, you need to go.

Our meal here was great-- the gnocchi with sweet corn was amazing! The drinks were very good, and every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. The service was good, it was quiet and relaxing in the dining room. It was less busy than some of the other restaurants on the main drag -- probably because they don't have pizza on the menu, which was a welcome sight. We definitely plan to dine there when we return to the area.

One of the locals recommended eating at the bar since the food was good bit prices were reasonable. The bartender juggled making drinks at the busy bar and waiting on the small tables surrounding it. We places our order and after 45 minutes of waiting for a burger and fish sandwich she pretty much told us sorry it's busy, other people are waiting too. The Gorgonzola stuffed figs we ordered had no Gorgonzola in them and when I finally got my fish sandwich there was a tiny piece of soggy fried fish on a huge bun. The bartender/waiter offered to get me another piece of fish but I told him to forget it. They ended up comping my sandwich (my girlfriend's meal was ok) but I wouldn't recommend the place.

We had a pleasant enough meal until the check arrived. We ordered a fixed price meal that was advertised on their website for valentines day. We were presented with the same exact menu upon seating, but when the check arrived it was more. I very politely pointed this out to the waitress and her response was that they had made a mistake on the menu and had reprinted it since we arrived end of story. It was only After I expressed my resistance to the bait and switch measure that the waitress grudgingly said she would "see what she could do". She did return with a correction but it left an unnecessary bad taste. I'm a business owner and if you screw up on a price you live with it especially if it's simply a case of making less profit. Bad form guys. This whole experience makes a statement to my wife and I about the attitude of the management. No doubt they get away with this with tourists. We are locals and know of other places where the food is at least as good and the service more accommodating. On the bright side the duck was excellent.

Based on the Yelp reviews and yummy looking menu outside the establishment, we decided to head over to Five-O for Sunday brunch. We were seated promptly and waited for about fifteen minutes before any wait staff came up to us to ask if we wanted anything to drink. The place wasn't even busy to tell you the truth. I believe there were about 5-6 tables of folks sitting, waiting. They had two waiters and one water / buss boy. After placing our orders in for eggs....eggs. We happily drank our yummy cappuccinos and got refills and continued to wait for our meals. That was until I realized an entire hour had gone by since we placed our orders. AN HOUR! Who waits for an hour for eggs? At this point it was about 12:15 and I had no idea when my meal was coming. I asked the waitress where our food was, and she didn't' say a word. She left and came back with the food for the table next to us, who by the way put their order in an entire 10 minutes AFTER we did. After this ridiculousness, we simply walked out of the place. I told the hostess what was happening and she basically just shrugged her shoulders. If this place can not serve a table of six within an hour, they really should stop advertising a brunch menu. especially in Ogunquit. It's always busy there in the summer.. get you act together.

My husband and I were in Ogunquit for the night and were looking forward to a nice meal at Five-0. We should have looked elsewhere. Although we had read some negative reviews about the restaurant we decided to give it a shot, having had a good experience there several years ago. What a mistake! We decided to share two of the little plates to start off our meal. We chose the delicious-sounding gorgonzola stuffed figs and the arancini with whipped chevre. The figs arrived looking less than appetizing. The prosciutto wrapped around them looked dried out and in fact was quite leathery. What should have been a savory bite-sized treat was truly awful. The arancini were flavorless and the chevre accompaniment added nothing to the dish. After our disappointing appetizers we almost left the restaurant (and in hindsight we should have), but we decided to try our luck with the entrees. While still deciding what to order for our main course, our server delivered some bread and olive oil to our table. The bread was stale and inedible. My husband nicely let the server know that the bread was very stale. We couldn't have been more shocked by her response. She acknowledged that she knew it was stale and had even spoken to the chef about it. She took away the bread and we weren't offered more. I chose the steak frites for my entree while my husband ordered the pork short ribs. When the entrees arrived, I couldn't even see the steak due to the enormous mound of onion strings and potatoes on top of it. Once I dug through the pile and found the steak, it was cooked nowhere near medium as I had requested. I asked the server to have it cooked some more and she happily did so. When I received it back, it was still too rare. At this point I didn't even want it anymore so I just ate the onions and fries. My husband's pork short ribs were just o.k All in all, our experience was very poor. Our server was attentive and friendly, but this did not make up for the terrible food. Although most tables were occupied at Five-0, I cannot imagine that the restaurant will continue to succeed if more diners have experiences similar to ours. It goes without saying that a return visit is not in our future plans.

Went here for dinner as it was included in a package we did with a hotel down the street. There was a set menu for package people which was a little limited, but still good. I had the three little plates for an appetizer-artichoke aracini (delicious), warm olives with garlic (I don't like olives but my husband did), and some type of seet pepper jelly on crostini--yummy as well. My husband got the mussels which he enjoyed. We were very pleased with these appetizers. For dinner I got the vegetable lasagna which was not very good at all-extremely disappointing. My husband got the cod which he enjoyed but we were surprised to see we had to pay an extra $5 for that which we didn't notice on the menu. For dessert they were out of the tart that my husband wanted so we both got the molten chocolate cake and it was delicious. Our waitress was pretty good but went mia a couple of times. Overall good experience, would just recommend more choices for people who do not like seafood.

Maybe we didn't look enough like movie stars..... We went to 5-0 on the recommendation of our Inn's host. He even made reservations, "with a water view". Turns out the water view was a mural painted on the wall. Lah-dee-fricking-dah! The food was good, I'll give you that. We wanted wine, but didn't want a full bottle. So, we opted for a half, and it was still $30. And, it wasn't a half bottle, it was one of those airline bottles, that that gave us about 2/3 glass each. For $30! The only attentive staff member was our busboy. He took over for the waiter, who spent the evening ignoring us. It took almost 1/2 hour to get menus, over another half to place our meal order, and by the time our food came out, it was stone cold. Good, but cold. Most of my problems stemmed from our waiter, to be true. I'm still floored by the wine, though.

One of my favorite places to get a drink in Ogunquit. A martini while eating fried pickles and then a lobster BLT at the bar? YES, PLEASE!

My husband and I went to Five-0 last Saturday for dinner. I took him up to Ogunquit for his birthday and heard good things about Five-0 so I decided that was the place to go to celebrate! I made our 8:30pm reservation on Opentable and under special requests mentioned that it was his birthday so we would love a really great, cozy table for 2. My dad had mentioned to us that they have a great bar there with really good specialty martinis, and if anyone loves a fancy martini it is I, so we decided to head over around 8:00 to grab a drink at the bar before we were seated. We checked in with the super nice hostess, who informed us that our table was already ready if we wanted to sit right away, but that they had no problem at all if we wanted to grab that drink at the bar first, so that's what we did. My husband had a Stoli Raz with sprite and cran, an uncharacteristically girly drink for him but hey, it was his birthday. I asked for the specialty martini of the day which was a pineapple vodka, banana liquor, pineapple juice and orange juice concoction that was DELICIOUS! I could have easily drank 4 of these, but I stuck with the one. The ONLY negative thing about our experience here was that the bartenders seemed to think they were a little too cool and came off kind of snobby, not too friendly. But whatever, it didn't really bother me, it was more of an observation and minor annoyance than anything. As long as the drinks are good and you don't ignore me, I'm good. After our drinks we checked back in with the hostess, who once again, couldn't have been nicer, and I was so happy when she sat us at the perfect out of the way, cozy table, just as I had requested. The waitress very promptly came over and took our wine order and brought that out right away. The waitress was also super nice!! She was extremely attentive without being annoying and when we asked about how late the local market stayed open because we wanted to get a bottle of wine to take back to the room, she told us she thought it was 11 but if it was closed to come back and she'd hook us up. OK, now for the most important thing, the FOOD! DELICIOUS!!!! We ordered 3 of the little mini bites for the table and all 3 were out of this world. Particularly the arancini with the truffled honey. SO yummy. We also got the house made bresoala with melon which was insanely good, and the peppers agro dolce. For my main course I had the grilled lobster. Two pounds, cooked to perfection, sliced in half and all the meat from the claws was already taken out for me! It came with a sauce that went perfectly with the sweet subtle flavor of the lobster. This was hands down one of the best lobsters I have had out. My husband got the braised short rib and he absolutely LOVED it, I had a small bite and it really was delicious, very tender and flavorful. We or course ordered dessert and both shared, the problem was we both liked the same one the best! The polenta pudding with hazelnut mousse....amazing! We also got the chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato which was also delicious but the pudding was just so different with great flavors! All in all, our experience at Five-0 was one of the better dining experiences we have had, I would most definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a special night out or an awesome meal!

We went to Five-O on our last night in Ogunquit with the intention of spending a lot, eating a lot and having a good time. Check, check and check! First of all, everybody who works here is gorgeous. Like, they could be models or at least on a reality show with pretty people. The restaurant is pretty. It's romantic and warm and cozy. We had a bunch of 'tastes' and some oysters to start. We didn't like the oyesters at all, but that's ok. The tastes were great--- we had Fries of the Sea (so good) and the pate (sooo good) and the salt cod fritters (soooooooooooo good.) Also had great wine and hubs had a perfectly done martini at the waiter's suggestion. For dinner, I had steak frites- the steak was good but the frites were super. Hubs had the lamb, he was pleased. For dessert we had the polenta pudding, and it was not great. We have now had a couple glasses of wine/martini each and I am actually hiccupping. I love the waiter for not laughing at me. Anyway, we see that it is pouring outside, but attempt to walk home (because when you're tip-say you think you're waterproof) Bad idea. Went in to the bar, which was like walking into a living room where everyone knows everyone, and the bartender brewed us up fresh decaf. We dried off and warmed up and asked the b'tender to call us a cab. He drove us back to our hotel himself. How sweet is that?!?!? Nicest guy ever, and I feel like we are probably not the only people to feel this way. He knew everyone there, and it was obvious all were fond of him. I think he runs the place, and seeing that, it makes sense why this place feels so welcoming. It starts at the top, right? So go here, try the fritters and have martinis and hiccup the night away.

Great meal. Highly recommend the seared tuna. Three tasting plates for 10.00? Such a deal. And one of the best martinis I've had in some time. Great evening.

Had dinner here last night, and I am still stuffed! Most of the experience was fantastic, though my father's entree was TERRIBLE which makes me drop down to 3 stars. Casually strolled in at about 745 on labor day night and were very graciously greeted and immediately seated by the lovely hostess who even said "sorry about the wait" when we waited for mayyyybe 2 minutes. Service was pretty fantastic the whole way through, from step one. One mildly annoying thing, which i've noticed regularly throughout this town is that you must order your full meal before they offer you any bread. But that's neither here nor there. We chose the 5 little bites and some oysters for our apps, and they were pretty great. The "fries of the sea" were deliciously salty, though the tartar offered was not tangy enough to really match the oiliness. The arancini were really great and crunchy outside, but buttery inside, while the truffle honey with which it came actually made for a fantastic match with the sardine fries. The bruschetta was meh, while the watermelon and tomato gelee was AWESOME, seriously, best bite i've had in a long time, one little square of watermelon, a beautifully salted tomato gelee and lavender scented honey. delicious. The olive oil poached tuna came out looking more like tuna salad, less like, well, poached tuna, but tasted delicious as well. best tuna salad i've ever had, but still obviously not the highest grade tuna if it's gotta be ground. The oysters were nice and fresh, very salty, and had a fantastic limoncello gelato lightly spooned on. The presentation of the oysters, though was bland and sloppy with them thrown on an ice platter that was WAY too large, with nothing else on the platter. ice and oysters. probably the only time i've ever seen that, and i eat a TON of oysters. Entrees first of all came out almost immediately after apps were cleared, like so quickly that we were visibly surprised at its arrival. Braised short-rib gnocchi was GREAT. meaty and creamy, the gnocchi beautifully prepared. The porcini dusted pork loin was GREAT. Perfectly cooked, and the peppercress on top added an amazing bite to the whole dish. The clam pasta, conversely, was AWFUL. Like we're talking dried pasta, tossed in butter and cheese, not a butter and cheese sauce, but like kids pasta style butter and cheese with a few clams on top. Flavorless, way too oily, gross looking, and overall the worst entree i've tried in a while. Also disappointing was the fact that my father ate like 2 bites of the pasta, pushed it away, and didn't want it taken home and nobody ever asked what was up, even as i and my mother pounded our whole dishes. Though only 2 service missteps, both were pretty intense and disappointing. Overall, most of the experience was great. Had it just been me, i would have given maybe 4 stars, but since my dad's pasta was SOOOO bad, 3 is the best i can give. Go, but get the pork.

This place is great! I would have to say the bartender is amazing and really makes the place what it is. He makes amazing amazing cocktails. He is so sweet and very mindful of his regulars. If you are staying at a local hotel these guys participate in some of the packages which makes eating here a steal! All the staff are very attentive and go out of their way for you. The food is great as well. If you are not up for the more expensive main menu try the bar menu - which is also amazing!

Really loved this place- everything from service to appetizers/salads to dessert were fantastic! The salads were divine, fresh blueberries with inventive dressings, burger was great although had I known how well executed these dishes would be I would have ordered something much more elaborate. The chocolate bread pudding dessert was the BOMB. Great experience overall.

This place is great. Gary the bartender is awesome. The duck tenders are really good, as is the chowder. Sit at the bar, and have a great blueberry martini!

The BEST martini I have EVER had, period. The pineapple-coconut martini will spoil you for life. We sat at the bar because there was an event winding down. Glad we did as we were able to be served by Matt and Greg, both know how to treat a customer right! The food is now more Italian/med. and the chef knows his stuff. You'll be back, promise. We also had a pizza the next night from their cafe next door. I cannot say I have EVER had a better pie! Yea, I'm gushing but these guys have hit it out of the park, and we are foodies who love to eat and drink the good stuff! Matt is a prince, and Greg is simply a service God. Go, or die having never experienced Five-O. We live in Boston and we'll be back, oh, we will be back!

i have eaten at five 0 many years ago both in the dinning room and at the bar. This past week I have a giftc ertificate to use up so thought we would try it again. I ordered the chowder - it was cold and really was not done well and hanger steak also served cold with way to much aoli sauce on it. My wife ordered teh most expensive thing on teh menu a a $36 fish not only was the portion super small it was pretty bland. Our daughter on teh other hand ordered the fish and chips which was good. My advice is to try MC's or Provence if you want to drop that type of money on a dinner or just eat off the bar menu which is pretty good.

We have tried this place 3 times now...three strikes and they are OUT. The food is just ok and it is not worth the prices. The best bet is to just have a burger at the bar.

I really want to love this place. Unfortunately, I keep going back in hopes that it's going to improve, but I continue to get slow service, and slightly better than average food. I think this restaurant has fallen victim to it's own success. It seemed very professional when it first opened, but has fallen on it's laurels that people will come no matter what. Especially since it's in a tourist town, they don't need to rely on regulars to survive. One thing that I feel is such a disappointment there is they use HEINZ ketchup bottles on the tables that are filled with generic, cheap, institutional ketchup. TACKY, and makes one suspicious of what else they are using in the kitchen and passing off as a gourmet food experience. For a $12 hamburger, I'd expect they could afford the real thing.

this place was great in so many ways.... we went here on evening two (a Sunday) of our first ogunquit experience. to celebrate C's B-day. 1. we had planned to sit at the bar since we didn't have reservations... but were very surprised to be be sat at the last available table. Nice, attentive host. 2. wonderful food, nice portions, tasty... a bit expensive, but see # 7 3. a helluva amazing ginger coconut martini reported C. and a nice, strong mixed drink for me. 4. the place was clean.... 5. a perfectly attentive waitress who was helpful, not pushy, and cute. 6. they set the mood... they surprised C (and me also...) by dimming the lights (sort of power-outage style) and belted out happy birthday... it was great! 7. A few minutes after we were seated we were informed that our meal (drinks, food, desert) would be half off..... we're not sure the reason and we did think that we were being punk'd. Regardless, I decided to ditch my burger idea for dinner and go for the $thirtysomething entree instead.. If you're in Ogunquit check it out... We'll definitely go back!
