A round of applause to the manager at this location. Best KFC I've ever been to. Restaurant was nice and clean with a friendly, pleasant atmosphere. Classical music played throughout the lobby. Buffet looked clean and sanitary.

This place is amazing and is the ultimate and best. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and I wish it was a week. The accommodations are beautiful. The beds are comfortable, the rooms spacious and very luxurious. The grounds are well kept. The breakfast is unlike anything that I have ever experienced. It was culinary excellence to say the least. The innkeeper is so friendly and genuine. If we are in the area with a spare night, I can guarantee you that we will stay here.
Wonderful place to stay. Best part has to be the breakfast. Fabulous food comes out of that kitchen, mostly organic and natural products. Storybook Inn is also very convenient to Lexington, the Horse Park and some of the best Bourbon Distilleries in the world. Take their advise on where to eat and you will be very happy.
I cannot believe I am the first reviewer for this beautiful B&B. It is one of the "Distinguished Inns of North America" (www.select registry.com ). We are staying in the Casablanca Room which has a large sleeping area with a leather couch, large TV, and stuffed chair. There is a nice sized private bath. The house has a large shared sitting/living room area with a piano available to be played. There are games to keep the bored busy and plenty of sitting area for multiple groups. There is a large enclosed patio area with tile floors and 4 tops for breakfast to be served. The grounds are well kept and offer many places for couples to sit and have some privacy. There is a nice park close by if you are interested in trails and of course the horse race track in season. This is a great alternative to staying at one of the corporate hotels!!

This restaurant was delicious. The biscuits were very fluffy and on point. We have been looking for a home cooking place and we were not disappointed.
This was the best homemade breakfast I've had in a long time. The service was friendly and fast. The bacon and biscuits and gravy were the highlight of the meal. I got that along with two eggs and hash browns for $6.99. Not a bad deal!
They have a Limited Menu plus a daily special . Today's special was butterfly shrimp. After seeing another table with the special , we decided against it in appearance alone . The three of us shared catfish , a chili dog and a deluxe hamburger. The catfish was some of the best I've had. A lite crunchy cornmeal crust and white meaty fish inside. The fried cornbread was exceptional! The hush puppies lacked in taste and texture . The slaw was average and the French fries were crinkle cut and cooked just right . The chili dog was extremely good with a homemade chili on top . They had several toppings to choose from for your hot dog ,which was nice. The deluxe hamburger was good but nothing to brag about. We were disappointed in the limited selections , but the catfish , fried cornbread and chili dog made up for our disappointment . As for dessert , they only had one option. It was cherry cobbler . The portion was generous but nothing spectacular .

Awesome service...the staff are super nice. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Lexington area. I like spicy food, and all you have to do is request it and they make it happen. They truly aim to make your experience a good one. Also, their salsa is excellent. If you've never been, stop by.
I truly do not see why there are glowing reviews for this restaurant because as the old saying goes, "You never get a second chance at making a first impression." I took my beloved wife on Mother's Day to this restaurant hoping that the experience would be sublime. Not the case at all...first, the menu that I was given had cooked rice in the middle of the crease. I'm not joking. The waitress brought a bowl for salsa that was wet inside. After we received our food, the waitress never came back to our table to ask how the food was or how we were doing. She was busy talking (maybe flirting) with another patron. Then she had the nerve to get upset when I gave her a $1.00 tip. That was the last straw. We'll take our business elsewhere.
This little place can't be beat for authentic Mexican food. Tonight I had my usual, tacos al pastor. They were hot, fresh and delicious. They were served with a whole green onion and jalapeño, both deep fried. Very good. My date had her usual, shrimp tostadas. They were also fresh and overflowing with shrimp. Sunday lunches are always interesting. There are often really good specials such as menudo and ceviche. If you have a favorite that is not on the menu, ask the staff. They often have scrumptious surprises that are not on the menu. I am not a fan of margaritas, but I hear they are really good here. Mexican beer is cold and cheap. I suggest Pacifico or Tecate with chili and lime. The homemade horchata is a favorite with the kids. Finally, the staff is fantastic. Delia and Mara feel like family. We are always greeted with warm smiles and hugs. They are attentive and efficient. Best service in town.

Of course, I didn't eat everything on this list, but I polled our group about their experiences, Service - 5 Mussels - 5 Fish tacos - 3 Beer cheese burger - 3.5 Bourbon bread pudding - 4.5 Atmosphere (too loud) - 2.5 Shrimp tacos - 4 The muscles were out of this world, the fish tacos however lack luster Caution, there is a spicy seasoning on the fries. Not really good for kids. Or people who can't eat spicy food like me, so you might want to have it omitted if need be Our server was very very nice
My companion ordered the Napa Burger- piping hot and an excellent combination of flavors. I had the Baja Fish Tacos- also very good, with crisp cabbage, and a tasty sriracha aioli. The service was excellent and prompt, and the space has a casual and fun vibe. My one complaint echoes other reviews left previously, and it really should be a simple thing- the fries were stale and luke warm. Step it up on the fries- cook them to order guys!- and it'll be five star worthy!
From reading previous ratings after the fact, I was a little surprised that the ratings were so different that us lower than mine. I was surprised that the menu was listed as having Mexican food but I didn't see so many Mexican items. I would think it is more of a seafood and burger joint. The burgers were well cooked and juicy. The fish and chip platter was well cooked with a nicely fried piece of fish that was more fish than batter. The slaw is home made and delicious. The salads were fresh and the dressings were homemade too. The Sriracha wings were hot, flavorful, and not greasy. The steamed mussels were delicious and on special on Mondays for $6. Overall, a great dining experience in Versailles, very pleasantly surprising and a good value, and friendly service.

No trip to Keeneland Race Course is complete without stopping here for donuts, no matter the time of day. Large display cases show off a vast variety of delicious choices. Located in a newer gas station, there is still a bit of old country charm to the vibe-- they sell Candleberry candles, one of my fave brands. Everything here is quality. I truly love the bacon-maple donut, I really think I could eat about a dozen of them if no one would find out and I wouldn't get fat. They are so good, they are practically juicy, they will melt in your mouth and stick to the napkin and your fingers. Plentiful little chunks of bacon are stuck to maple sugar frosting, smeared onto a classic plain donut...the fluffy kind. The best. Free donut with fuel purchase is a plus.
Anytime I'm out between Lexington/Versailles, I'll make sure to stop and get Joe some cinnamon twists. It's the only place that I can find them and he says they're amazing. All of their doughnuts are amazing, really. They're over sized and overstuffed with delicious fillings. The prices are pretty reasonable and the store smells like fresh baked goods whenever you walk in. They also have hand scooped ice cream and tend to offer some unique flavors. So, it's always worth your time to stop in and see what's behind the counter. You'll be glad you did.
Two words: Heck. Yes. I pass Doughdaddy's all the time on my way to work, and it took me almost a year to finally stop in. I went in to grab an assorted dozen for everyone at my work (for $9.99!), and I was not disappointed. They have both yeast and cake doughnuts, and they even had a huge selection at 6:00 at night! They were absolutely delicious- so light, and each of the various toppings and glazes were great! I will definitely be back.

Best valentine's dinner with the hubby. The carne asada tacos are the bomb. The mamasita makes her own tortillas in the back and they are so good. moist and fresh yet still strong enough to hold without breaking. Unlike most retaautants that double up their tortillas and you end up with more tortilla per meat ratio. They put a lot of carne with a side of cilantro, limes and onions. All for 1.75 each. I get full on 2, 3 if I'm super hungry. Btw a good sign of authentic Mexican food is how good their salsa. It is hot but not over the top and fresh. I would say it's the closest to my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles and that says a lot. Also you have to try their horchata (rice drink) which they make themselves from scratch.
Love this little restaurant. There is nothing fancy about it, which is great by me. It is family owned and the food is fantastic. I love the tacos, as do my husband and stepson. Very good prices too.
What great food! My husband and I took Yelp's advice and had dinner here on a Friday night. We'd spent the day touring bourbon distilleries. I had the burrito with sausage and my husband had the enchiladas and a tamale. Both our meals were terrific! Cold beers topped of the night. Other Yelpers are spot on about little atmosphere, but good service, cold beers and, like I said, great food.

It was a beautiful day for a drive so instead of going to lunch somewhere in town we opted for a drive out to Wallace Station. For a Saturday Afternoon we were surprised that there was a line out the door. It moved fairly quickly and as I said it was a beautiful day. I ordered the chicken salad plate and my husband a burger. It only took about ten minutes for our food to arrive. Both were very good and the perfect amount of food. He HAD hoped to try a dessert but we're too full. Next time I will start with the Banana Blonde and he will have the chocolate cake;) You can't go wrong with Wallace Station!
Delicious sandwiches with so many unique options. A little crowded/claustrophobic inside but the weather was beautiful so we went outside for a fantastic picnic lunch. Definitely exceeded my expectations for a deli sandwich. Parking is an adjacent lot, a little crowded on a busy Saturday but plenty of spots. The desserts are to die for. Seating is picnic tables outside on the patio and the lawn. Great proximity to the distilleries -- we went between Four Roses and Woodford Reserves.
This was recommended by a friend, we shared the hot brown sandwich and a large salad and both were excellent. This place would be outstanding, even if there were lots of other good restaurants in the area!

The owners are so nice! They were sweet to help with all my vegetarian concerns and questions. Veggie Spring rolls available inside of egg rolls, with pork. the specials are great, you get nice portion with rice (steamed or soy sauce fried) and some spring or egg rolls. In lieu of Arby's across the street it was a great choice for me. The veggies were super fresh. We made a few trips here on my last trip to KY. My mom really enjoyed her cashew chicken and broccoli shrimp, I loved the rice noodle (vegetarian)... my dad went ga ga over the sweet and sour chicken (sauce came on the side, he was very pleased) and the Crab Rangoon which were devoured on site. One friend brings his own tofu! So please note, no tofu here, but you can bring your own... this is Versailles after all. Thanks for the great eats!
I've been going to Wok N Go since the 1980s. It's not a buffet, but a carry out or eat in. Their "Special Anytime" menu is a good value, and I like their Mandarin Chicken which is basically Kung Pao Chicken. It's not gourmet, but it hits the spot for carry out Chinese and the prices are very reasonable. I've never had a bad meal there and if you like it hot you can ask them to spice it up.
This is your only choice for Chinese food if you don't want to make the hike to Lexington or Frankfort. The food is greasy and lacks much flavor. Next time, I'll bite the bullet and drive to Lexington...Cash only!
