Of course, I didn't eat everything on this list, but I polled our group about their experiences, Service - 5 Mussels - 5 Fish tacos - 3 Beer cheese burger - 3.5 Bourbon bread pudding - 4.5 Atmosphere (too loud) - 2.5 Shrimp tacos - 4 The muscles were out of this world, the fish tacos however lack luster Caution, there is a spicy seasoning on the fries. Not really good for kids. Or people who can't eat spicy food like me, so you might want to have it omitted if need be Our server was very very nice

My companion ordered the Napa Burger- piping hot and an excellent combination of flavors. I had the Baja Fish Tacos- also very good, with crisp cabbage, and a tasty sriracha aioli. The service was excellent and prompt, and the space has a casual and fun vibe. My one complaint echoes other reviews left previously, and it really should be a simple thing- the fries were stale and luke warm. Step it up on the fries- cook them to order guys!- and it'll be five star worthy!

From reading previous ratings after the fact, I was a little surprised that the ratings were so different that us lower than mine. I was surprised that the menu was listed as having Mexican food but I didn't see so many Mexican items. I would think it is more of a seafood and burger joint. The burgers were well cooked and juicy. The fish and chip platter was well cooked with a nicely fried piece of fish that was more fish than batter. The slaw is home made and delicious. The salads were fresh and the dressings were homemade too. The Sriracha wings were hot, flavorful, and not greasy. The steamed mussels were delicious and on special on Mondays for $6. Overall, a great dining experience in Versailles, very pleasantly surprising and a good value, and friendly service.

I love Napa Prime. We live in Lexington and stumbled upon it when it first opened on our way back from Louisville last night. Always looking to try a new LOCAL restaurant, we were very pleased. I work in Versailles and have ordered lunch take out several times since and also always tell others about my experience. Great wine, amazing gourmet-type burgers, nice staff!

It rains gently over central Kentucky and the air smells fresh. You look out your windshield and see this hut of a building with a nice sign and the familiar architecture of a certain Italian pie restaurant. You might think, "Verily, this place must have vittles the like of which has never been tasted before." You would be correct. As you open your umbrella and traverse across the wet pavement, your heartbeat quickens and you starts to perspire. Or maybe it's the rain. It's not that important. You are just wet. Except you get a little excited and a little amount of urine escapes. Nobody notices because it is hidden by the rain/sweat. You sit at a table in the nice ambiance and can't help but notice everyone has that telltale wet spot on their trousers. You look at the menu and you see why all their wet spots have continued to spread. The fare! O the fare! Scrumptious burgers and fish tacos galore! If one was so inclined, they could purchase various forms of alcohol from the apothecary that they keep on hand. And not just one or two types of drinks, but enough for many peoples' fancy. You completely lose all bladder control and gladly give them ALL your money.

So great to have Napa Prime in Versailles. The food is wonderful. The service is one of the best we have come across. Our drink barely gets below half ever and anytime we have had a problem they take care of it quickly and never made to feel like it's an inconvenience. The eclectic menu has many choices for all. Some of our favorites Hangover Burger Mussels Beer Cheese Burger Anything on Brunch Menu Bread Pudding * this is a must..we normally hate bread pudding but this is lick the plate clean good! Nice wine and cocktail options too.

Had a take-out order on 4/29/14 in the late evening...got a couple burgers w/fries, and an appetizer Unfortunately, half way through the meal for both my wife and I...we BOTH encountered a 7-10 inch long HAIR in our fries. Yuck!! The burgers were yummy...the app was mediocre. I understand these things happen in food preparation. Just double check your fries...I will try it again :)

Stopped in for lunch and was glad I did! Selected a salad that was fantastic. Service was first class and was pleasantly surprised at the upscale menu.

I gotta report this...if you're ever in the town of Versailles, Kentucky, you have to check this place out! It's an old Pizza Hut building the situated between the waffle house in a little red Mexican restaurant, but they make superior food with unique twist. It really should be on 'Diners, Drive-ins & Dives'

There no way I could score anything less than 5 stars. I had the Lamb burger. Best burger I have had. Excellent service. I have not had a more courteous waitress in years. This place will grow and do well. Wife had the KY bourbon burger and the sauce with the straw onions and bacon were perfect together.

We enjoyed everything we had!!! We had so many people checking on us and could not have been more happy! Wished we lived closer!!! The tater tots and beer cheese fondue was beyond good!!

We went to Napa Prime for dinner the other night. In all we really liked it. The service was wonderful and the food was great. The only thing I did not care for was the price for a burger. The entree prices seemed on par, but we had heard their burgers were great (which the were good) however, I paid $9.50 for a burger that didn't even come with a side! I think they could give you a few tater tots or fries. Our waiter explained that they used to come with a side, but people kept wanting to trade out for another side and they were losing $. Well, that's easy. Just have an upcharge for different sides besides fries. We will go again, but probably as a date night, not spending that much on a hamburger for the kids!

Don't be fooled by what you see when you pull into the parking lot. Yes, it's in an old Pizza Hut bldg next to a Waffle House, but beyond that it's AMAZING! It's primarily a prime burger joint (again, in an old Pizza Hut), but the special I had the night we went was shrimp and grits with a couple pieces of sourdough toast and it was perfect. The other special I almost had was Ahi tuna and jasmine rice. We mentioned we were in town doing the Bourbon Trail for my wife's birthday (2days prior to us actually eating there) but they brought her a brownie Sunday, and we told our waitress we didn't mention it to get something free but the owner insisted. This was the biggest brownie we've ever seen, like a quarter of an 8x8" cake and 3" high, and since my wife won't read this I can say the brownie was better than her homemade brownies. The staff we had was very attentive. Also, they have a few tables outside to sit if you don't want to wait on a table inside.

Edward C. got the review exactly right...even down to the bread pudding. Our group had beef and lamb burgers, salad and dessert. Everything was great including the service. The decor is a bit sparse and shows it's sports bar origins. But the kitchen and servers have got it just right.

I ranked this 4 stars. The loss of star comes from the noise in the building. It was hard to hear and have a conversation until the place cleared out. Overall environment, clean and appeared to be well maintained. My wife and I ordered the Tater Tots. The called this Loaded tots. I think it was the incorrect name. It is tots and a cheese dip. The cheese was good just needs more flavor. I thought it was bland for me. A little spice in it would have made all the difference. I had as usual a Mushroom Swiss Burger. Great Burger. WAY BETTER THAN BRU. the burger was cooked spot on and was juicy. The fries hand-cut. They were seasoned great and a little soft but I think that was from the oil being a little cool (was very busy tonight). The fries were still good. My wife had the Hangover burger. Another hit. She love that as well but had the same issues with the fries. They offered us the pudding and while it looked awesome just no room left. I will return to this place. The server we had was the best I have had in the area. The drinks never saw the bottom and always made sure we were taken care of. The other servers did not appear to be performing as well but that is just an observation not based on fact!

We were in town for the Bourbon Trail, and happened to find this seemingly little burger joint. Don't be fooled by the drab exterior, this place has the best burgers you'll ever stuff into your face. That's not all, they also have some of the best fried pickles and fried banana peppers I've ever had. But the very best part of the whole experience is how nice everyone is to us out of towners. To be short: I would make the 8 hour drive just to eat here again.

Taking off the kid's gloves because slacking restaurants are epidemic in America. We got charged $12 for an antibiotic free, pretty plain hamburger and an additional $4.99 up charge for a Caesar salad. This $17 "deal" means you also have to give up your fries. Their hamburgers are not gourmet. McDonald's will have antibiotic free hamburgers in a year. If they want to oversell like this, the patties need to be grass-fed and include lots of toppings. The tater tots also don't work. It makes the restaurant look lazy. If they serve tater tots, a frozen food, they have to go above and beyond to show they are serious. At minimum, they should make their own animal stock and cook with olive oil. I was told they buy stock from the super market and they cook with canola oil. This reveals they cheat on craft and buy cheap, which they up sell to tired travellers like ourselves.

Just finished late lunch at Napa prime. Two burgers and two chicken sandwiches at the table. Food was great, service (Shelby) was top notch and the owner even stopped by and said hi and thanks for stopping by We were on vacation but would definitely come back if we are ever in Versailles KY again! Nice stop on the Bourbon Trail.

This restaurant restored my faith in humanity! After a string of let downs from the service industry, finding this little gem while on our bourbon distillery tour was a breath of fresh air and a treat to our taste buds. Do your self a favor and order the fish or scallop tacos with a Woodford Reserve Mint Julip.

The food was very good. I had the KY Bourbon Burger. They also have a pretty good beer selection. The waitstaff was extremely friendly. Reasonably priced as well.

I agree with Ken K. This is a pleasant surprise for Versailles. Great food and it's more a burger seafood place which suits me just fine. So far, tried the Fish and Chips for lunch. Sunday brunch had Cajun Shrimp and Grits and hubby had the BLT. All delicious- we'll be back as regulars.

I've driven past here enough times and wondered what it was turning into when I saw it coming together. Wasn't sure what it was, but assumed it was a Burger joint. Then a friend and I decided to check out Napa Prime for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. An eclectic menu that others have already outlined, but again for the location it's extremely unique and interesting. Still working out the kinks, but the service was solid and most of all, the food was presented well and good. If you're looking for a step up from a regular burger joint, Napa Prime is worth your time.

So delicious. Perfect stop along the bourbon trail. Hamburgers juicy and flavorful, recommend trying. Kentucky Bourbon bacon burger a must!

The reputation exceeded the food. Friendly service, with so many great local products, this menu is begging for some backup.

Pizza Hut here we come; although that's the first impression you get when driving up to this place. It is located in an a somewhat dilapidated area, and you wonder. Actually the building is an old Pizza Hut restaurant that has gotten a somewhat upscale makeover into a neat burger joint. With the exception of a complaint in our group that the bourbon lemonade was too sweet and too non bourbon, everything was fine. Food was decent and the service was comfortably slow. Our group had burgers and a shrimp/bacon melt. Although a little greasy, it all tasted fine. Wish there were more innovative ways like this to re-purposing a Pizza Hut.

If you want to spend a lot on food you can make better at home, this is the place to go! Seriously, I got the El Diablo burger, and the only thing that set it apart from any burger I've ever made at home are the jarred jalapeno slices and a little bit of Sriracha mixed into the mayo. Actually, I have jalapeno slices and Sriracha in the fridge, so I could have totally made it at home. My wife got the Traditional Club sandwich, and the bacon was so underdone that it was inedible. She said her sandwich was just "all right." We split the Truffle-Parmesan fries, and I couldn't detect even the slightest hint of truffle at all. Anyone could crack open a can of Kraft Parmesan and sprinkle it over their Ore-Idas, and they wouldn't be too far off from what we got. As other reviewers have stated, it's too loud inside. In fact, the only thing that's keeping this from one star is the service, which was excellent. Overall, however, I think the owner/management of Napa Prime think it's something more than it actually is. I might go back if someone I'm with wants to go, but I'm certainly not in any hurry to go back.

Interesting menu, great food, and friendly service. You can't go wrong! I had the fish tacos with a side of their famous Mac and cheese (which I ended up taking with me--too much to eat!) and my husband had the meatloaf, which had an interesting smokey flavor. I definitely recommend this place!

I had a pretty disappointing experience. I ordered the Vegetarian Melt, which is described on the menu as "Sour dough, avocado, roasted tomatoes, spinach, smoked Gouda & Swiss + roasted garlic aioli." When I received my meal, there was no avocado, and there were red peppers instead of tomatoes. Basically it just wasn't at all what was described. Apparently they were out of avocado, and instead of letting us know had just left it off my melt and my sister's burger (hoping we wouldn't notice??) I was pretty unhappy with what was left of my sandwich when I received it, and gave it back. Eventually the owner came to talk to us, and honestly I was pretty disappointed with his response. He offered to make me something else, but of course by that time everyone else was done with their meal and ready to move on. We had to ask him to take the melt off the bill - he didn't offer. And nothing was offered to make up for the lack of avocado on the burger. I guess I messed up by ordering the vegetarian option here, where they clearly don't care about it, but I won't come back. That being said, my family has enjoyed this restaurant in the past, so maybe this was just a one-time issue.

Wow, Versailles locals sure don't have a reason to go to Lexington for dinner anymore. In fact, this is a great opportunity for Lexingtonians to come out to Versailles! With a rather eclectic menu, a fun atmosphere, and great service this is a can't miss place to have dinner. A couple of the 'best' on the menu - Lamb-burger (my personal favorite), fish tacos, and salmon. And the bread pudding is a must have. My wife typically doesn't like bread pudding, but she orders it here every time we go! My suggestion - get there before 6 PM. The place fills up and stays full, so come early to get a table without a wait. Otherwise, expect it may be 15 to 20 minutes. But the staff really are great and try to squeeze you in as soon as possible. This is a great place - check it out.

I ate here on a Thursday, just after they opened for lunch (11:15). I chose it on my way out of town based on its solid Yelp reviews and its proximity to the airport. The place doesn't look like much from the outside (I think it's a former Pizza Hut), and the inside is nothing special, either. But don't let the appearance turn you off - the burgers are excellent! I had a Hangover burger, which came with smoked bacon, a fried egg, and Hollandaise on top. I ordered it with fries, and it came with shoestrings in a pile that was too big to finish. The burger was messy but excellent! It was cooked perfectly and I thought the beef itself was much tastier than most other burgers I've had. It came on a nice, fresh bun, but I think the Hollandaise and egg was too much for the bun to handle, so I ended up eating most of it with a knife and fork. I had a beer with my burger (they don't have anything on draft, which was disappointing) and it made a perfect lunch. The chef even came out to see if I enjoyed my meal. I was glad I stopped! I realize this isn't really "five star" dining, but as a burger joint, I don't see how you could do any better, so it gets a five-star rating from me! I'll be visiting again next time I'm in the area.

Stopped at this restaurant after visiting Woodford Reserve on the Bourbon Trail. Wow!!! I am so glad the yelp reviews were spot on. Had the bourbon bbq burger bc our waiter said it was his favorite. I am so glad he recommended it. It was heaven. Fries were amazing as well. My husband had the same burger with tots and he said he might not be able to go to any other burger place again since this place was so great (and he loves going out for burgers!) really cannot say enough good things about our experience. Five stars!

I've held off reviewing this place because I felt it could be 5 stars but I was having a couple of issues each time I dined here. Nothing that kept me from coming back. Two Times they totally over shot the temperature on my burger. The burgers were still good just not great. I didn't tell anyone so that's on me. On another occasion our waitress didn't inform us of the specials. We overheard them from another waitress at another table. Also not major. Be proactive. Ask if there are specials. If you need something and your waitress isn't around walk up to the counter. Nobody will be offended Today the gf and I dined here. The first thing I noticed was a laminated specials card. Problem solved. I ordered the bourbon bacon jam burger with house made chips. The gf ordered 1/2 a club with a Caesar salad. She really enjoyed the salad and the Dijon aioli that came with her club. My burger came with bacon jam and crispy fried onions. It was over cooked. Crap. Our waitress came up and asked how everything was and I told her. She apologized and offered to get me another one. I thanked her and declined. About two minutes later a manager or perhaps an owner came over and asked if everything was alright. I showed him the burger and he insisted on making it right. He told me he would have a new one to me in five minutes. He delivered. He asked me to cut into it to make sure it was cooked properly. It was, and it was delicious. The patty was loosely formed. A lot of care was taken to form this patty. If you work it to much you get a dense burger that is not as appealing. The house made chips were great. Why more places don't make these is beyond me. Super easy and cost effective. This restaurant is quality from front to back. A lot of care is shown to make sure that the customers enjoy there dining experience. Well done!

We checked in and got the Beer Cheese tater tots. They were amazing. The had single barrel Elmer T Lee as bourbon of the month, it was really good too, and they were out (as I expected) but they do offer Pappy also. The Napa Burger with Gorgonzola cheese, Cabernet braised onions, and garlic aioli was really good, served on a perfectly toasted bakery fresh bun. And the crab Mac n cheese side was heavenly. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, Melissa was a fabulous waitress. I'll definitely make this a stop any time in Bourbon country.

Great burgers. We had the Bourbon BBQ, Hangover, and the Bison Burger. All very good. I'll be back!

We are locals and have been regulars since they opened. I like to sit outside and the last 2 times I requested patio seating I was refused by the hostess. Reason given was that the owner didn't feel like having the patio open. Amazing. I won't be going back.

This was our 2nd visit to Napa and it did not disappoint! There was a wait on a Wednesday night, which was unfortunate for us but great news for the restaurant. We were seated after about a 15 min. wait. The restaurant has a very open floor plan so it can get a bit loud when its busy. Don't plan on a quiet, intimate setting when you dine here, but the food is worth it! I was pleased to discover a free appetizer deal for my check-in and so we started off with the Tater Tots and Beer Cheese and Bacon Fondue. The fondue had a bit of a kick to it but it paired well with the tots. It was a HUGE serving and I was thankful to be splitting it 4-ways as there's no way 2 people could eat it all and gave any room left for entrees! One of the specials on our visit was an Elk Burger. I had never had the opportunity to taste elk before so I had to try it at Napa. I opted to leave off the Swiss Cheese to shave a few calories. The burger and topping flavor combination was outstanding! I'm not sure what kind of bun Napa uses but I think that is part of the secret to what makes the burgers so amazing! I will be looking for reasons to go to Versailles as I want to sample more of their extensive offering of burgers at Napa Prime.

  • Elaine D.

Recently, I met the owner of Napa Prime. He told me he was serving elk burgers for a limited time, so I just had to make a return trip. It was a large burger, perfectly cooked, with Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, a chiffonade of Romaine lettuce and tomato. Outstanding! Most restaurants disregard the bun as a vehicle for the burger, but the devil was in the details here with an excellent toasted brioche bun. Choice of sides is fries or cole slaw. I opted for the slaw, a good portion of a simple slaw, cold and crisp. Coming up -- ostrich and kangaroo, and possibly wild boar in the Fall. Looking forward. NOTE: Monday Mussels have gone from $6.00 to $7.99, but are a goodly portion with baguette on the side for dipping, of course.

Big time menu shrinkage. No steak, no meatloaf, no chicken entrées as there was in the past. In other words, if you don't like seafood, everything else is a heart attack on a plate. I'll keep tabs on the menu, but today will be our last visit till some real variety shows up on it.

  • Kirk H.

Good burgers. First visit the mussels were amazing! Second visit they were a little fishy. Both visits the fries and tater tots were not good. Cold and tough (old fryer oil?) Steak was thin and overcooked. Looked like a waffle house steak. Fries inedible. Waitress did not know how to pour a beer. 50% foam in a glass! We took the beer to the bartender and got another. This place has potential but management REALLY needs to pay attention to the DETAILS!

  • Alexis M.

Looks are deceiving, the building is an old Pizza Hut. The cocktails and food are excellent! Five of us had burgers which were very good, fresh and filling. The chicken tenders were the best! Also the Gouda Mac and cheese was a must have. Stopped at Napa Prime when we could not get in at Woodford Reserve, glad we did!

We got the beer cheese fondu and it was amazing! We also were able to use our yelp coupon and get this appetizer for free. For our meal we got the elk burger which was great as well! The service was awesome and the waiter was knowledgeable.

We had the cheese dip and tater tot appetizer, the Lamb Burger and the Bourbon Burger. It was all excellent. It was kind of pricey but it was really really good. Our server was very nice but not at all quick on refills.
