This place is amazing and is the ultimate and best. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and I wish it was a week. The accommodations are beautiful. The beds are comfortable, the rooms spacious and very luxurious. The grounds are well kept. The breakfast is unlike anything that I have ever experienced. It was culinary excellence to say the least. The innkeeper is so friendly and genuine. If we are in the area with a spare night, I can guarantee you that we will stay here.

Wonderful place to stay. Best part has to be the breakfast. Fabulous food comes out of that kitchen, mostly organic and natural products. Storybook Inn is also very convenient to Lexington, the Horse Park and some of the best Bourbon Distilleries in the world. Take their advise on where to eat and you will be very happy.

I cannot believe I am the first reviewer for this beautiful B&B. It is one of the "Distinguished Inns of North America" (www.select registry.com ). We are staying in the Casablanca Room which has a large sleeping area with a leather couch, large TV, and stuffed chair. There is a nice sized private bath. The house has a large shared sitting/living room area with a piano available to be played. There are games to keep the bored busy and plenty of sitting area for multiple groups. There is a large enclosed patio area with tile floors and 4 tops for breakfast to be served. The grounds are well kept and offer many places for couples to sit and have some privacy. There is a nice park close by if you are interested in trails and of course the horse race track in season. This is a great alternative to staying at one of the corporate hotels!!

I cannot recommend a stay at A Storybook Inn enough. We had our small, private wedding ceremony at A Storybook at the beginning of this month, and from start to finish, the entire experience was a dreamy, stress-free, BEAUTIFUL affair! Even though I have driven past A Storybook Inn thousands of times (it is 15 minutes from my hometown), staying there really does feel like a wonderful escape into genteel, Southern elegance and hospitality at its finest. I have stayed at hotels in Chicago, New York and Vegas: A Storybook Inn is unequivocally the most beautiful, relaxing, and well-maintained place I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We booked one of the wedding packages at A Storybook Inn months ago, and from first touring the grounds to the morning after the wedding, the entire experience was fabulous. Elise and her staff (Sara, Grace, and Veronica) are the kindest, most gracious and lovely group of women you will ever hope to meet. I think I hugged half of them by the time we left. Because of Elise's organization and her and her staff's willingness and ability to accommodate our needs and wants, the venue and event-planning for the wedding was actually the most relaxed and stress-free part of it all! Elise has her personal 'approved vendor' list: we trusted all of her recommendations, and they were as organized, professional and kind as she was (e.g., makeup/hair stylist; photographer; floral arrangements; even the restaurant the night of the wedding). I noticed that all of the vendors visibility brightened up and WANTED to do our tiny wedding after hearing Elise's name and A Storybook Inn as the venue (there's a lot of credibility to Elise's reputation as well as her inn's). We stayed at the suite, Somewhere In Time, based off of the Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour movie. The suite is enormous, and the most luxurious, elegant, gorgeous corner of heaven you could dream up. Everything was spotless and sparkling clean; the attention put into every aspect of the rooms' decor is so readily apparent. And while the suite was huge and sumptuous, it also had a cozy, comforting aspect: I just wanted to curl up in the seated bay window and read a book while overlooking the grounds. The food and the staff will also make you feel pampered and indulged. I loved waking up to the smell of homemade pastries baking every morning, or finding delicious fresh-baked treats waiting both afternoons in our suite (ohmygosh those gluten-free brownies topped with walnuts and Ghirardelli chocolate chips!). Elise prides herself on her "skip lunch" breakfasts made with local, top-quality and healthful ingredients - and she has every right to! We were stuffed to bursting both mornings (yes, we skipped lunches) after feasting on scones, muffins, fresh fruit parfaits, and egg entrees. As mentioned earlier, Elise acommodates dietary requests, DELICIOUSLY. I requested gluten-free items, and I reasonably expected to be served fruits or vegetable sticks for snacks. I cannot rave enough about the LUSCIOUS gluten-free baked goods that Elise and her staff treated me to! Banana-walnut muffins with cream cheese frosting, fudgy brownies, blueberry scones, oh my! We really did not want to leave A Storybook Inn on the last morning! Even my husband, a big-city, nightlife kind of guy, LOVED staying at the Inn and enjoying viewing the natural beauty of the Bluegrass State from our luxurious perch. We cannot wait to return, and already plan to visit for our future anniversaries.

For our 22nd anniversary we stayed for two days and had activities at a local winery and train ride. You aren't going to find a place like this anywhere where you are cared for and treated so well. The organic, gluten free food efforts of the wonderful owner are second to none. I cannot eat dairy, and she was wonderful to work with that. On the last day I just sat eating slowly trying to take in every last moment because I didn't want it to end. You truly feel separated from the world with gentle music playing in the back ground, smells, and things to captivate your senses all around. Little details like a ladies make-up station in the bathroom, dark chocolates in the hall, and many rooms for privacy when wanting to be alone with the one you love abound. From the time you are being checked in to check out the attitude, care, and effort is all about the guest experience. I would say you need to stop your life and stay here at least once because it will be memorable and one of the most pleasant things to happen. We stayed in the room named ( Somewhere in Time ). Once you step into this space you are whisked away to a room romantically themed after a movie about a couple that a hundred years could not keep apart. Although the movie has a strange ending your stay won't as you will feel refreshed and renewed in your relationship. As you enter the room there is a letter desk / computer station, day bed, library, and additional seating, after that is a small transition area to the bedroom that has two additional doors and a window seat, the first door opens up into a very large bathroom with two sinks, marble counters, ladies beauty station, very large two person jacuzzi ( bubble extreme ), a large shower, and small closet with the toilet, the second room is a very large closet for all of the close you must hang up ( the closet also has a mini fridge ). Once you enter your actual room the California King bed very high off of the ground with all of the most comfortable linens and pillows you can imagine awaits along with window seats, a small couch complete with two throws and a coffee table, there is also a large fire place paintings, and a armoir with a tv that has cable and movie playing components. The window treatments are lavish and drape gently to the floor, it reminds me of a victorian type window treatment. I was forced to leave my cell phone behind by my wife and it made for a much more enjoyable stay. There is a waterfall in the back yard with private dining area, gardens, a park next door, and this place is very close to many famous Kentucky attractions. Just ask the desk for options and they will let you know what is available. Get lost at A Storybook Inn for your next trip and you will be so happy you did. Thank you Elise for a wonderful time.

Simply put, this is the nicest B&B I've ever stayed in. I can't think of a single thing I'd change (well, other than the price!) -The grounds are manicured, luxurious, beautiful -The house itself is old, stately, immaculate -The rooms are enormous, wonderfully furnished, and the beds are comfy, with soft sheets -The bathrooms are modern where they should be, historic and classy elsewhere. A great combo -The solarium where breakfast is served is big, airy, and pleasant -The breakfasts themselves are enormous, tasty, and fresh -The staff is friendly and attentive What more could you ask?
