This is an awesome bed and breakfast. The rooms are incredible and the breakfast was delicious. The mansion has large parlours and very private, extra large rooms. It is tastefully decorated. The owners were very friendly.
This place was great. My fiance and I went for a night and we stayed in the Monet room. The room was decorated with Monet art, there was a two person whirlpool, a big bed and nice big bathroom. We had an add-on romance package with a bottle of champagne, cupcakes, a romance game and candles. We also had breakfast delivered in the room which was very good. Kathleen (the owner) was friendly and always around if we needed something. The only bad thing I have to say about this b&b is that we were expecting a working fireplace in the room and not a fireplace that did not work. We will definitely go back.
We went for a romantic getaway and stayed in the Degas room. It was perfect! The decor, attention to detail, space, fireplace, hot tub in bathroom, breakfast and snacks, bedding - all so perfect. It's by far our favorite B&B and we look forward to going back. B & N Chicago, IL

Food bursts with freshness and flavor! How often are you waited on by a Co - founder of an eatery? This little gem on the tiny little strip in Whitewater is honestly better (and cheaper) than the huge hit BelAir in Wauwatosa. Not that you would drive this far...but if you are in town it is a must go. Equal love given to all trends...asian, veggie and seafood tacos all winners. Taco Fresco, I'll miss you in the big city!
If it weren't for Amador this place would not be excellent. However it is excellent, and if Amador cooks for you it is on par or better than any Tex-Mexican food in the United States. Thanks for smashing Amador! KEEP WHITEWATER WEIRD!!
I cannot pick a favorite here. Fortunately, the prices allow you to choose a variety. I stop here every time I get to Whitewater and have been re-impressed with every visit. The flavors are refined and delicate, the atmosphere great. From a foodie who travels around the world, I could not be happier that this place exists near my backyard.

Karen made us the most beautiful and delicious wedding cakes! Our consultation was fun (and delicious!), and she was open to our ideas while helping us make sure our ideas were doable. She made a cake that looked exactly like an inspiration photo I found online, as well as a sheet cake (each slice monogrammed with our initials) that was also just lovely. She even had us drop off a few of our flowers in advance and decorated our cake with them. She delivered on time and was a dream to work with. I would recommend the SweetSpot in a heartbeat. (When I asked my stepson if he thinks the wedding cake earned five stars, he said the cake earned 20 stars!)
Nicely renovated space. Very clean. Service was very good. Sweet were very good. The brownie was too much frosting not enough brownie...
Very good food. The two star review reflects how they reacted when a large group of customers walked in. It was Saturday morning and I was with a group of 7 to try this little bakery. Being saturday morning it was also very busy in the drive-thru. Because of this the staff seemed to become very short with everyone in my large group. They made it seem like we shouldn't be there and ordering was a huge inconvenience to them. Besides that food was amazing.

The Black Sheep

210 W Whitewater St
Whitewater, 53190
Reviews:
The Black Sheep is, far and away, the best fine dining option in or around Whitewater. And better still, it is fine dining in a warm, casual, comfortable environment. Chef Tyler Sailsbery does a wonderful job pairing flavors and sourcing fresh ingredients. His focus on local meats and produce means that the dishes are flavorful and full of the healthy benefits that only local food can provide. Additionally, the food is well-prepared. I have dined at The Black Sheep a half dozen times and each time someone in my party has ordered the salmon. Salmon seems to always be overcooked in restaurants, but not at The Black Sheep-- perfect every time. The beer and wine lists at The Black Sheep are constantly evolving and offer something for everyone. I also love the playful and never boring n/a beverage list: bottled sodas, vanilla bean lemonade, etc. The atmosphere must be my favorite thing about The Black Sheep. The converted space in a century-old building is cozy and interesting-- with exposed brick, a poured concrete bar, and hand sewn tufted bench seating. The service has always been friendly and helpful as the staff grows and learns. The restaurant is still young and therefore I find myself being very empathetic to the new servers on a busy night... however, they earn my understanding through their politeness and their courage to ask questions when something stumps them. If any improvement were to be needed at The Black Sheep I would say it should be an expanded hors d'oeuvres (or small plates) and dessert menu for those of us that would like to sit and nosh while drinking a glass of wine.
I went to The Black Sheep for dinner tonight, and I was blown away by the quality. This was my second visit, and it was a completely different culinary experience compared to their brunch service. After dining their tonight, I am willing to chalk up my first visit as a bad day in the kitchen on a menu that they had not had much practice with. The original brunch review is under the dinner review that I am posting tonight, but please don't let it scare you away from Whitewater's best dinner establishment. Here we go... Drinks: I had was the vanilla lemonade, I like vanilla, and I love lemonade, but cognitively I could not picture enjoying the combination. Surprisingly the drink was wonderfully cool and refreshing, if they bottled it I would buy it by the case. Appetizers: My table ordered the mac and cheese and a special referred to as caprese salad flatbread. The mac and cheese was wonderfully rich, love the roux and garlic bread crumb topping, I wish there were an option to add some kind of pork, since I love pancetta in mac and cheese, but it was good as is and in Wisconsin I would like to think we know mac and cheese. The caprese salad flatbread was more like a margarita pizza you would buy on the streets of Italy, it was not what I expected but it tasted good and the mozzarella was excellent. I associate caprese salad with uncooked mozzarella and raw basil, and this was the opposite, but it was an interesting interpretation. Entrees: The plank salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce was excellent. I normally dislike capers, and my first choice of steak had just sold out, so I was a bit apprehensive about the sauce, but once it crossed my taste buds I was thrilled. I also sampled the lamb ravioli, it was alright, the raviolis were pretty large compared to the small pocket of filling, but I have never been a pasta guy and I am sure some people prefer it that way. I could tell they were made from scratch, and from my limited knowledge of pastas that is always a good sign. Desserts: Feeling gluttonous I tried every dessert on the menu, I figured with everything else being so good the desserts should not be missed. First I had the apple cobbler, I loved the top 1/4 with the crunchy crumbs, not sure if that was graham cracker or something else but it was awesome. The final 3/4 was cooked apples, which is fine but I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I ordered this dessert thinking apple crumble and apple cobbler were the same thing, but now I know they are different (and in my opinion apple crumble is better). Second dessert was another special, and it was called a strawberry lemonade cake, the best I can describe it is as a lemon meringue pie with a cut up strawberry on top. I did not order this one, since I anticipated it would be too sweet for my taste, but I gave it a try and it was good for being so sweet. The third dessert was my favorite, I can't recall what it was called, but it was a cup of chocolate custard with a dollop of cream on top. My oh my, chocolate heaven, hallelujah, thank you jesus. For dinner the black sheep thoroughly exceeded my expectations. I am ecstatic to have a nice restaurant to bring people to in Whitewater. ****************************** Old brunch review. My first experience at TBS was a bit of a disappointment, I went for brunch and while the service was good, I was let down by the food. I ordered a Gorgonzola and port burger medium, but it came out well done. I found the burger bland and unbalanced while the fries were not as crisp as they could be. Another person at my table ordered a well done burger, and my burger was even more cooked than his. If I had been paying for my meal I would have addressed my issues with the server, but I did not want to interrupt my companies breakfast, or insult their choice in restaurant. The restaurant was nicely laid out and visually pleasing, so I hope today was an off day. I will give the black sheep another chance for dinner or lunch and adjust my rating accordingly.
The Black Sheep has never ceased to amaze me or my wife. They catered our wedding last year and Tyler did a fantastic job setting it all up for us. This year we went for our one year wedding anniversary and again we were blown away. Danielle on their staff assisted me while I was overseas to make the perfect evening for my wife and I. The service by Luke was phenomenal and we will definitely be returning for future meals and events. I highly recommend them for weddings and just daily eating. Make sure you try the Chicken Piccata and the chicken pesto if it's being made. In fact we've never eaten anything less than amazing.

It is not a true college bar hopping experience in downtown whitewater until you made a stop at the Pub! During my college days, this was one of my favorite places. Nice atmosphere, good crowd, cheap drink prices, and options to play pool or darts. Men's bathroom is disgusting, but what can you expect from an older college bar. It can get very crowded near the bar, but again, expected at a popular college bar.

Jessica’s Family Restaurant

Reviews:
Been here about a dozen times. Wish there was somewhere better to go for breakfast in town. Food tends to be either over cooked, under cooked or cold. Omelettes especially overcooked. Hash browns under cooked and metallic tasting. Frozen perhaps? I have had an occasional good pecan waffle here once i learned to stop ordering the omelettes. My husband enjoys the breakfast skillets but he'll eat anything. Coffee is pretty dreadful. Wish i could bring some take out coffee from the Sweet Spot in with me.
My friends and I were camping 20 mins away for a concert at alpine valley and our experience at Jessica's restaurant was nothing short of amazing. We were a big group of about 10 and they made sure we were in and out quick. Service was great, coffee refills and water pitchers were consistent and the food was just what we were looking for. The breakfast skillets were delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a good breakfast.
Just had lunch at Jessica's, overall it was a nice experience. The positive + affordable diner cooking + food came out fast and hot + the server was friendly & efficient + a whole pitcher of ice water on the table + clean tables and bathrooms The negative - street parking can be tricky to find - large menu with just average food Overall it was fine, it's nice to spend your hard earned money at a local place instead of a national chain.

Cold Spring Inn

N1431 County Rd N
Whitewater, 53190
Reviews:
A very quaint restuarant stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Cold Spring has no stop sign nor a red light, if you blink you will go right through the town. The Inn is right on County Rd. N and does a brisk lunch and Friday and Saturday night business. The place is really friendly and homey. The food is fresh and prepared daily. Just good ol' fashion home cooking. Most of the people that frequent this place are the locals. There is a small golf course directly across the road. Plenty of parking and prices are very reasonable. Well worth the stop off the beaten path.
Stopped in for lunch on way to Ft. Atkinson. It was crowded but service was okay. Ate a burger on their homemade bun. Didn't come with mustard and none on the table. Server was so busy I ate it without condiment. The meat and bun were good but I do like Mazo's better. Their salad and soup bar is probably the reason they are so busy. I had asparagus soup which had some woody pieces but flavor was perfect. I love their French salad dressing. They had a great selection in their salad bar. Worth a visit for that alone. My iced tea was good.
One word - outstanding! We will return soon. We like to dine here before or after a round of golf at Spring Creek, across the road from this restaurant. We liked this place before the change in ownership. Good fish fry, burgers, and craft beer on tap. It has new owners, a fresh contemporary look, above standard menu and excellent service. We were here on Friday, so had the steamed cod, delicious potato pancakes, creamy coleslaw, fresh baked hard rolls and added crab cakes as an appetizer. We will return soon for the crab-stuffed mushrooms on the standard appetizer menu that isn't available on busy Friday evenings. The bar area has been transformed, with shiny new surfaces and fixtures. The dining area sports white linen tableclothes and linen napkins. Give it a try - I don't think you will be disappointed.

LOVE this place. Food is always fresh and tasty. We often get it to-go. My favorites are the coconut shrimp, crab rangoon, & teriyaki chicken. They have a nice sushi selection also. Staff are friendly.
I went here for dinner recently. The experience was just alright. It is a typical Chinese Buffet. The food was hot, and fresh. The General Tso chicken was good, but not nearly as spicy as most Chinese places make it. The black pepper chicken was also nice. I recommend this place for groups, but you should go around regular dinner hours so the food is warm and new.
I mean, really - it's a Chinese buffet. It's not going to be a 5 star dining experience no matter how you slice it. This is a solid place though. Clean, large amount of items, fresh, hot, tasty. They have a delightful coconut shrimp dish, their dumplings are good and their honey chicken is delicious. Well priced. I haven't been to others in the area so I'm not going to say it's the best there is around here - but it's a strong possibility! We had an enjoyable time here and would most definitely come back.

China House

China House is pretty much synonymous with UW-Whitewater for me since we ordered it just about every time I visited my wife while she was in school. It is what it is- delicious, fast, American-Chinese that fills you up fast. The menu has all the classics you'd expect, the portions are generous, and you are given the option of white or fried rice at no extra charge.
Orange chicken is classic, they use real dried orange skin. This one taste bests with white rice plus hot and sour soup. I like the golden sesame chicken with fried rice too.
Went on Chinese New Year 2013 with the fam. I'd been craving Chinese food for a long time. The crab Rangoon we ordered was a strange yellow and tasted terrible. There was the distinct flavor of old oil and an overwhelming absence of anything reminiscent of crab. The beef and broccoli was also well below your average Chinese place fare as was the fried rice with its ultra dry chicken and noticeable lack of egg. The beverages are canned only. The staff was nice enough. Would not go again.

Cozumel Mexican Restaurant

1139 W Main St
Whitewater, 53190
Reviews:
Cozumel is hands down the best Mexican food I have had in Wisconsin so far. I feel that being from LA I am allowed to make that assessment and not fear that I may be wrong. The only down side is that its in Whitewater so unless you are in the area it would be very inconvenient. I've had their carnitas burritos which was really good!! They put corn in it which is something that if I knew would be in it, I would have asked that it be omitted but Im glad that I somehow glazed over it because it was really good. It gave it a sweet taste which is something you wouldnt expect to love in a burrito. I also had the mini tacos which are like the street tacos Im used to. Those were really good too!! Cozumel is great! They have huge portions and the prices are decent. The staff is nice too! Im looking forward to actually sitting down there for a meal instead of just ordering take out!
We just tried the basics, no specials, but it was very tasty food, quick service, easy parking. Very colorful decor, and an extensive menu.
This is the restaurant I visit most often in Whitewater. It's great food, decorative atmosphere, and I love that I get to munch of chips while I wait for my food. My only complaint is that when they get very busy their servers can be pretty slow. I personally don't mind because when I go out I enjoy being out, but it can be frustrating if you need to be somewhere or are in a rush. This has only happened to me twice, but I still enjoyed my visit both times. If you are in the mood for good Mexican food, this would be the place to go in Whitewater, especially for students. It's great for large groups and it's cheap, too!
