A very quaint restuarant stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Cold Spring has no stop sign nor a red light, if you blink you will go right through the town. The Inn is right on County Rd. N and does a brisk lunch and Friday and Saturday night business. The place is really friendly and homey. The food is fresh and prepared daily. Just good ol' fashion home cooking. Most of the people that frequent this place are the locals. There is a small golf course directly across the road. Plenty of parking and prices are very reasonable. Well worth the stop off the beaten path.

Stopped in for lunch on way to Ft. Atkinson. It was crowded but service was okay. Ate a burger on their homemade bun. Didn't come with mustard and none on the table. Server was so busy I ate it without condiment. The meat and bun were good but I do like Mazo's better. Their salad and soup bar is probably the reason they are so busy. I had asparagus soup which had some woody pieces but flavor was perfect. I love their French salad dressing. They had a great selection in their salad bar. Worth a visit for that alone. My iced tea was good.

One word - outstanding! We will return soon. We like to dine here before or after a round of golf at Spring Creek, across the road from this restaurant. We liked this place before the change in ownership. Good fish fry, burgers, and craft beer on tap. It has new owners, a fresh contemporary look, above standard menu and excellent service. We were here on Friday, so had the steamed cod, delicious potato pancakes, creamy coleslaw, fresh baked hard rolls and added crab cakes as an appetizer. We will return soon for the crab-stuffed mushrooms on the standard appetizer menu that isn't available on busy Friday evenings. The bar area has been transformed, with shiny new surfaces and fixtures. The dining area sports white linen tableclothes and linen napkins. Give it a try - I don't think you will be disappointed.

The Cold Spring Inn is closed for business indefinitely. The property was auctioned off.

Cold spring Inn reopened in September 2014. It's now run by the family that owns and runs Jessica's Restaurant in Whitewater. They have remodeled the bar area extensively and redecorated the main dinning room. The menu is different but reasonable. I do miss the salad bar and unique burgers from the old menu.

A recent visit to my bride's brother Darren, his wife Pam and her mom Francis (who is a joyful 90) was to include a dinner. I had no input on where we were to eat but was told it would be Cold Springs, 'your classic Wisconsin family restaurant' my quiet thought was 'ugh, paper thin steak with the yum yum taste of Adolf's meat tenderizer. But Darren went on to say it was really good food and he's a chef by trade so I figured I would be a good brother-in-law, keep peace in the family, after all it was a nice fall day and no use disturbing Whitewater's finest with a domestic disturbance call and hope it was indeed 'really good' (actually I enjoy visiting Darren, Pam and Francis, the domestic disturbance thing is as my bride would say, me being a 'silly bear'). Well it was more then really good it was 'REALLY GOOD' who would of ever thunk one of the most tastiest New York strips I consumed would be a little diner in the land of beer and cheese. My sweet wife had the Queen Prime Rib and she nearly ate the whole thing! She's one who eats so small portions at times some would say birds tend to eat more. Well the birds flocking near Cold Springs ain't getting anything from her plate. Darren went with the King size prime rib, while Pam and Francis mom had fried cod. I'm not a fish guy by any means but their's sure looked tasty Our server was as friendly as one can get without someone thinking she was munching happy pills. Though blackened was not the norm for my steak she was more then happy to make sure I got it blackened. In short she was one of the most friendliest servers I have had in all my dining experiences. The going out the door on Cold Springs Inn is I can't say enough positive for this 'yum yum for the tum tum' restaurant in the nowhere land of beer and cheese.

Cold Spring Inn is closed...went out of business. We still love The Cozy Nook in Palmyra, for a great small town WI experience. Also worth the drive.

Food was about as good as you'd get at any Wisconsin bar. Nothing unexpected. I would not recommend this dump.

"Hidden Gem" is an understatement for this Wisconsin classic restaurant / supper club. My wife and I were in search of a new dining choice prior to seeing a concert at the UW-Whitewater and, after checking out another Yelper's review, decided on the Cold Spring Inn, just a couple of miles North of Whitewater. 1) The staff is excellent. The young ladies serving tables were as friendly and professional as could be, and made sure everyone was aware of the evening special entree. They were attentive and helpful, without being pushy. 2) The food was very good. My wife ordered a tenderloin that was prepared perfectly, with a side of baby red potatoes. I had dual marinated chicken breasts with a side of steamed broccoli, and both were prepared perfectly. Both meals included a trip to the well-stocked soup and salad bar, too. 3) The prices are reasonable. When I received the dinner bill, I said, "This is about what my bar bill was in Chicago last night - for two glasses of wine!" 4) The atmosphere was okay. The restaurant is a bit too 'country' for my liking, but, hey - I'm not buying it; I was just eating there. I would recommend dimming the lights a little to allow for a bit more ambiance. The bar through which we walked on the way in was fine, but better signage pointing the way to the separate restaurant area would've been appreciated. If you're seeking a quaint, clean supper club with exceptional meal offerings and fabulous service, the Cold Spring Inn is your place. We'll be back!

A few of my friends and myself came here for the Friday fish fry and the price was reasonable for the all you can eat fish, however, the quality was underwhelming. I cannot speak for the rest of the menu because this was the only time I have been to this particular restaurant. The fish was just too dry for my liking and the coleslaw was very average. I would hope the rest of their menu is better than their fish.
