My sweetheart and I went to The Silver Fork for the first time on Saturday evening, and WOW!, I wasn't prepared for it. We were greeted by a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly server, who picked a perfect wine for me (2010 Anton Bauer Wagram Cuvee - a red blend from Austria). The challenge was to decide what to order from the most exciting and alluring menu I've ever seen. So... instead of ordering an appetizer and entree for each of us, we shared five appetizers, and each of them was splendid. We started with cold apps: the tuna ceviche with mangos, dates and tostones, and a caprese salad with tomatoes from Earth Sky Time Farm. Then, the warm apps: lobster Caribbean risotto, a flat-out amazing pizza-like flatbread topped with duck confit, goat cheese, shiitake mushrooms and caramelized onions, and an astounding dish that combined shredded beef brisket and homemade spaetzle, with fresh horseradish grated on top. One of the very best dining experiences I've ever had. Incredibly innovative, perfectly sourced and executed. I can't wait to go back!
My friend and I came in on a Saturday night before going to the Dorset Playhouse. All of the great reviews for the server, the recommendations, and the food are spot on. This is a gem of a restaurant. The chef's wife was a delight; her recommendations were delicious. We especially loved the chicharroni de pollo and mango floating souffle (do not miss either!!!). Absolute surprise find in Vermont!
I love to eat out and always on a look out for a great place. Silver fork is one of my great find. My girlfriend and I dined here this evening. We started with white sangria which was very refreshing. Then a nice crusty bread served with olive tapenade. Followed by goat cheese soufflé with fig jam and toast. My girlfriend had veal emincee I know she liked it because she polished the plate. I had the Maryland crab cake with shoe string fries, it has real lumps of crab no fillers (which I hate) and of course I polished my plate too. We tried to save room for dessert but we were so full we couldn't possibly do it. May be on my next visit. The service was very attentive and gracious. The owner was the one who took our orders. The restaurant is small I recommend making reservations. I was lucky to get a table for 2 on short notice. I will definitely come back here. This restaurant also support produce from the local farmers. I will definitely come back.

We own a marina, restaurant, and rental properties (two of which are vacation rentals which I use this Inn as a blueprint to obtain our properties to!) so we are trying to make it a point to "get away". This is our second return trip, to the "Sweet William" suite and love it. This time it's warmer weather so we can see the lush green kept lawns with the adirondack chairs and hammocks awaiting a return visit this summer and a pool. I know our kids will just love it here. Not only are Julie and Frank terrific but their daughter Alice who I had a wonderful conversation with while ordering my "cordial" after dinner drink. The entire property from room to grounds express cleanliness, order, decor, most importantly the home away from home! Amazing comfy beds and pillows...I love the fireplace as we don't have one. We thank you for taking the time to make the Inn a wonderful retreat for us to get relaxed and revived.
Decided to spend a low-key weekend getaway in Vermont. Chose the Inn at Manchester because of the great reviews. They did not disappoint. Julie and Frank are super friendly and welcoming. The house is beautiful. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. Would definitely stay there again.
I only stayed one night, but it was one of the rare work trips that I didn't want to end. Between the fluffy bed, the charming decor, the 24/7 snack/coffee/cookie/water pantry [Note to all other inns/hotels/everything: do this. People will be forever appreciative that you care about their comfort], and the beautiful location, the Inn at Manchester was a great choice for my recent visit. I've definitely added it to my list of Vermont places I'd be willing to return on my own time. I would like to take a moment to talk about the snack pantry: not just the brewed coffee available most of the day, and cookies in a jar, chilled water bottles, open access to cream and all manner of teas, and a Keurig machine if the brewed stuff is gone, but the fact of the pantry's existence makes me happy. It says, "We don't take the make yourself at home," thing lightly. It's disappointing to stay in a hotel or inn or whatever and feel like everything you touch has a pricetag and will come back to haunt you when you check out. The Inn at Manchester feels like staying in a luxurious, quirky, well-stocked, and thoughtful friend's house. If you are friends with excellent innkeepers who have a bar, I suppose. Because of my project's time commitments, I wasn't able to partake of the breakfast, and this, above all the other things i missed out on or only got to enjoy for a limited time, made me very sad. It was suggested, by the manager on duty when I checked in, that I make a puppy-dog face in the morning to get breakfast before it officially began at 8. I decided against that tactic, and took a banana and [really, really good] coffee for the road.

Love the pizza here!
Pizza is AWESOME! Real EVERYTHING! A bit pricey, but worth every bite!
This is a great spot just off the main drag in Downtown Manchester. Every time we make a trip to Manchester, we stop here for a snack. Our usual is a slice or two of pizza and a bowl of soup. Finding good pizza in Vermont can be a challenge. They make a very good thin crust pizza with a good combination of crunch and chew. The soup always tastes homemade. And they add the noddles just as the soup is served; a nice touch. They also have a very good selection of Italian meats, prepared foods, dry pasta, canned goods, bread and other items. It really feels like an Italian market that you would find in the New Haven CT area. If you're there during the lunch hour, you can eat your food next door or outside on the front porch area. This is a great place to check out the next time you're in the Manchester area.

Delicious everything, charming atmosphere, friendly folks!
One of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. A great take on corned beef hash with a mustard hollandaise. I'd say tied for first for best CBH I've had with the Taos diner, which was more traditional. The pancakes were tasty as well. Highly recommend!
This is an outstanding place for breakfast. It would be outstanding no matter where it was located. It is a quirky, charming, relatively small second-floor space located at the top of a flight of steep stairs. You will likely wait a while to be seated on a summer weekend, but the really pleasant and friendly servers will offer you a coffee while you wait. Even iced coffee in the summer. That does not happen in most places, and was very much appreciated. We sat at the counter and were served by a peasant, friendly woman. We ordered the Scandinavian, which is eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and blueberry sourdough pancakes (!!!). We got sides of bacon and venison sausage with blueberries. Everything was delicious, but those pancakes were a revelation. So light, and so tangy. Beautiful with real Vermont maple syrup. We thought it was the best breakfast we had had anywhere in recent memory. It is not inexpensive ($37 for all that, plus two more iced coffees, before tip), but so, so worth it. GO!!!! (P.S. It is cash only).

Who doesn't love byob? But seriously this restaurant is yummy! We started with the pinwheel which was flaky and cheesy and we were able to get it without bacon! I had the scallops that were Thai flavored and very succulent!! And my husband had the broiled steak which he loved....We will definitely be coming back :)
We enjoyed the food - of our group of four - 2 had the scallops which were very good, 1 had the pork chop which he really loved, and I had the rib eye which was thin, but cooked very well and I enjoyed it. The waitstaff were young, very charming and attentive. The owner chef came out after the meal, and we chatted and we enjoyed the conversation. An added bonus was that it is BYOB which we read on yelp beforehand and were prepared for, and is fine by us and the bottom line. We will come back again!
This is a really cute and cozy bistro that always seems busy, but we were able to have the place to ourselves for an early breakfast on Sunday morning. The barista/waitress is very sweet, and she made some mean lattes -- one of the best I've ever had. I got the Huevos Puerto Rico (huge portion) and hubster got the open faced omlette...both extremely satisfying :)

My husband and I had a truly superb meal here last week. It was delightful sitting in the "greenhouse -like" D.R. - with a great view of the property. First of all, who can resist H.M. cornbread served warm with room temp. butter? There was also a very tasty and crusty French bread in the basket. Our delightful server, Krislyn, was both friendly and super efficient. She offered a refill of bread with a smile. My entree was a delicious Jumbo Shrimp Scampi served over a delicate mozarella and spinach filled ravioli, with some sauteed spinach over the pasta. The sauce tasted predominantly of lemon, but the garlic and butter also came through. The pasta was wonderfully light and flavorful. Five jumbo shrimp were surprisingly filling. The presentation was gorgeous. My guy had the Ahi Tuna in a sesame/soy preparation - and loved it. Everything yelped of freshness (ha ha). He enjoyed a gluten free carrot cake for dessert. I was, unfortunately, too full to have dessert - or I would have opted for tiramisu or a decadent Sundae concoction.. The menu changes frequently and Amy is always an inventive and creative chef. GO!!
The Perfect Wife has a tavern section and a fancy pants section. I've eaten twice at the tavern and have found the service to be very good and the food to be just fine but generally kind of expensive for what you get. They did have a fun blend of Long Trails on tap which was really good and nice and cold. The children's menu is pretty good extensive, which is always appreciated. So it's a perfectly fine place but it's a bit expensive.
Amazing. Got the curry appetizer and their burger. Both were just out of this world. We did not go to the formal dining area, but rather stayed on the tavern side which was just lovely. Service was also amazing. Waiter was very patient and addressed all questions regarding the menu. If you find yourself in Manchester you have got to give this a try. Looking forward to my next visit.

We had breakfast here one morning while in town. I had an onion bagel with vegetable cream cheese and my husband had French Toast bagel with butter both were very good. They advertise that they use unbleached flower and their dairy products are hormone free. The staff was friendly and prompt. If you like your toasted bagel to be browned then ask that they double toast it. Their setting seems pretty low, just warm enough to melt butter. It's not actually toasted. Try to get a seat by the window so you can enjoy views of the river along with your meal.
More like Bagel JERKS would have been the totally sick zinger that started my review if BW had completely sucked. But it doesn't suck. At all really. It's like a better and classier version of Bruegger's (don't know if VT has these). The bagels are decent for Vermont at least and I got a California Wrap that made me very happy. For non-total ripoff places in Manchester, you've got pretty much this and the hot dog lady, and apologies to my 7 year old self but you just can't eat hot dogs every day (sorry lil buddy).
The wait is a little long and the wait staff is very friendly but not very efficient and appear to be in each others way in the very small work area. The food is decent and filling.
