OH. MY. CHEESE. CAKE. HEAVEN. LOL Stolen from Erica B.'s review. But hey that's exactly what I thought. I love love cheese cake. There's a huge variety of different not your typical cheese cakes. There are name cards in front of each but do you really need them? Your mouth will be busy drooling. So just trust your eyes, it will make the right selection. They are all so amazing looking. We selected a slice of a red velvet cheese cake and I think a berry cheese cake. And enjoyed them outside on some wobbly tables that were all warped like the shape of a skateboard very ramp but we managed nothing would stop me from indulging in some cheese cake. It was so rich and very delicious. I actually went back inside to see what else I wanted and if I could eat more, I just ate at 3 or 4 places before here, but I decided to pass because I was full and was going to explore Memphis a little more after this, lots of walking. Definitely some of the best cheese cakes I've had or close right up there. The only knock on this place was the service. The guy there wasn't much help in helping us decide which slices to select. Couldn't give us any recommendations or tell us what he/other people liked here and he also kept answering our questions in a very rude attitude. Next time I'll just point and give you the money. You just give me my damn cheese cake. They have birds at the entrance, I don't know how sanitary it is but the cages were pretty nasty which is also why I wanted to go outside.

The cashier was very rude and obnoxious. They were out of red velvet cheesecake, so I asked him to recommend something else. His reply was "I mean I don't know you are the one paying for it and have to eat it so choose what you like." So I replied thank you and my family and I politely walked out the door. Can you say terrible customer service.

Comments about owner are all true. If I hadn't gone for my family member's birthday I would have walked out. Has no patience for questions. I was told I was a grown woman and could make up my own mind when I asked what was their specialty. Cheesecake itself was very good but also very overpriced. Lots of clutter in the window including lighter fluid. We won't be going back but I don't think he will care.

Cheesecake is one of those things, if you once had a fabulous piece, no others will ever be as good. I had really high expectations for this little shop. I stopped in with my mom to get a couple pieces to take home after dinner. The line was crazy and we waited a good while. Finally we got close enough to see the monstrous cheesecakes and all the flavors available. I ordered white chocolate raspberry, my mom ordered chocolate raspberry, and we ordered cookie dough for my little brother. The slices were HUGE. A single slice would have fed the three of us... it took me 3 days to finish it! White chocolate raspberry is my go-to flavor... I've ordered it at every cheesecake place I have ever been to... that being said, this was my least favorite of the three cheesecake places I have ordered from. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the presentation is phenomenal and my favorite cheesecake is in Hawaii, so it's not really fair to compare and I think for Memphis it is great!

Lacking in customer service. Lacking in ambiance. Lacking in cleanliness. Full of fantastic Cheese Cakes! Order at the display case. Have a seat as they dress up your slice. Enjoy! For the real lowdown see Torri M's review.

Many people (me included) wish we had a Cheesecake Factory. Cheesecake Factory is good with their oversized portions, but Cheesecake Corner has even better cheesecake! They have tons of flavors that change: chocolate, strawberry daiquiri, cookie dough, etc. They also have a quiche and wine bar. I have yet to try it, but I must soon. If you seriously have not been, you are crazy.

Hmmm. Favorite quote as owner berates his customer: "That's why white people get shot." I will never go here again. The owner is horrible. I feel so bad for his staff.

Great as usual. I went yesterday with my friends, one who has never been there. I ordered the caramel pecan cheesecake and it was delicious. It was very moist and sweet. His cheesecakes are delicious albeit a little pricey for one slice. However they are very filling and the best I have ever tasted. The atmosphere is very quaint and it is a great place for q quiet date.

Owner is a Jerk! Had a bird cage in the window with a large amount of poop. Terrible.

  • Nola C.

Oh, my! Without a doubt, this is the most incredible cheesecake ever. About 15-20 different kinds that are all made by the owner. We all had a piece there and one to go. I highly recommend the brandy one.

  • Mark G.

The best cheesecake hands down, they have so many flavors that are perfect its crazy. The cheesecake itself is very smooth, rich, and full of flavor. Very classy decor inside. The owner can be very quiet, but don't mind that too much, just enjoy the cheesecake. This place could be in every big city if they ever wanted to expand.

If you look up "hole in the wall' in the dictionary, there are directions to the Cheesecake Corner. This place is so old, run-down, and just plain weird, you'll wonder how they're still in business. It's two storefronts connected together, complete with sidewalk tables, live birds in cages in the windows, sketchy-looking water cooler, and a couch in front of the counter. If you're not looking closely, it's possible to walk right by and miss it completely. Now that you've entered this odd-looking restaurant, will you be greeted with a smile? No, you will not. In fact, you will be lucky if anyone working there says a word to you. Do not say hello, do not ask how they are, do not ask questions about the cheesecake, in fact, do not attempt to engage in any fashion, as it will save you feeling like a total idiot for attempting to talk to a brick wall. Just announce what cheesecake you would like, whether for here or to go, pay your $8/slice, and move aside for the next lucky victim...uh, customer. Why were we here? Oh yes, the cheesecake. Well...it's ok. If you opt to dine in, it will be difficult to find the plate under the layers of sauce, syrup, and marshmallow fluff. The chessecake is good, yes, but also overwhelmingly sweet, magnified by the sheer amount of pure sugar on the plate and whipped cream loaded on top. I think even a five year old would call it quits halfway through this dessert. I've tried a number of different kinds, and some are better than others. I quite like the cookies and cream (but I'm a sucker for that), but the blueberry was a little underwhelming. You also can't count on finding any given flavor on any particular day -- if there's a system to which types are made when, I've yet to figure it out. If you're downtown and want something sweet after dinner, this isn't a terrible option, but personally, I think it's a little much.

Cake is not bad ( although overprice and not always fresh) but the bitchy queens there, I can't handle all the attitude. Oh, why are there eggs in the display window? Kinda weird...

Me: Here you are. Here we are. In this moment together. Perfect. Cheesecake: Me: om nom nom Best cheesecake I have ever tasted. Pricey, yes. Worth it, absolutely. Reading all the reviews below me make me giggle. It's like he's the soup nazi from Seinfeld! This is going to strange, but I like the way Kevin runs his business. It appears that I have found someone who despises small talk as much as I. Every one of the cheesecakes here is amazing. I haven't tried them all since there are over 100 flavors, but I have never had a flavor that's been any less than divine. So the answer to "what flavor do you recommend" is all of them. If the owner is around and not busy, I always approach him in a fangirl like fashion and compliment him on his skills in cheesecaking. Sometimes he will just give me a blank stare, but on some rare occasions he will say thanks and smile back. Those are the best moments of my life... Also, try to go to the bathroom before or after you enter the Cheesecake Corner.

  • Corey W.

Greatest cheesecake on the planet, SON! The owner knows this, so they open when they feel like it. Reminds you of that soup nazi episode on Seinfeld. Several varieties made fresh daily. You can't go wrong here!

  • Anthony C.

The cheesecake is very pricey but very rich, delicious and worth it. They always have an overwhelming selection from which to choose. OJ ( server) is super cool. Ambiance is sweet and there is usually some sort of jazz playing.

  • Madison W.

Yes this beats Cheesecake Factory, you can absolutely tell that it's legitamately made from scratch. But this is so rich, and thick, I had to take a sip of coffee when I took a bite to help it go down for this reason 4 stars if it was a little lighter easier to go down without a beverage 5 stars! Yes 1 piece is big enough for 2 people!

Cheesecake variety - 5 Cheesecake quality - 5 Atmosphere - 5 for romantic Price - 3 ($8/slice) I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake, so i was very very pleasantly surprised by this establishment. We (me and my 2 other roommies) came in on a Wednesday night, and the place was incredibly romantic. Dim lights, candle lights on all the tables, very romantic! We each ordered cheesecake to go: chocolate chip, plain vanilla, peppermint chocolate, and cookies and cream. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of cheesecake HOWEVER the peppermint chocolate didn't taste like cheesecake at all. There isn't a cheesecake taste to the dessert! The chocolate chip one was good too!!! Variety wise they have A TON - caramel fudge vanilla, cherry, peaches and cream, blackberry, blueberry, turtle, etc. Therefore, this place is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF you like cheesecake / want a datey place to go to / want a chill place to visit / need some dessert! Knocked 1 star because the cheesecakes are $8 / a slice!!!!

My experience here began with a blue monkey inquiry and someone nearly stepping out of a moving rental car. It ended with 2 huge pieces of cheesecake - strawberry daiquiri and cherry flavored to be exact. In between was a friendly conversation with the young man who worked there and an offer to bring cheesecake if he came along on our next roadtrip. By the way, this was all around 10:30 pm. That makes this a great place for late night sweets, snacks and drinks since it is attached to a wine bar.

After craving cheesecake for what feels like months, I decided to turn to my handy dandy yelp directory. According to the reviews, this place gets crowded quickly so I arrived at 2:30 pm. and waited until they opened at 3pm. When I went inside, there were already four people ahead of me and by the time that I was up to place my order there were two other people behind me waiting in line. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and quiet. Based on the reviews, the owner has been described as rude and standoffish but my observation was quite different; he is definitely about business and his goal seemed to be to keep the line moving as quickly as possible so as to not overcrowd his establishment. He greeted me, asked if my order was dine in or to go, asked what I wanted to order, gave me the total of my purchase, then thanked me as I paid and left. I didn't find him rude at all but I understand that someone people want to feel as if they are being waited on "hand and foot" while in establishments. I'm sorry, but that's not going to happen at this place because of how busy it gets there. Okay so fast forward to when I arrived at my home. OMG...the first bite was almost orgasmic!!! My taste buds were bursting with flavor, my toes curled and my brain went in overdrive. I ordered the Strawberry Daiquiri cheesecake and I was NOT disappointed!!! If you're not afraid to take a trip to the downtown Memphis area and can take delicious food w/o an over the top personality then this is the place to go!

Best cheesecake I've ever had. Huge variety, but, unfortunately, the whole menu isn't available everyday. But that's a small price to pay for enjoying great cheesecake in downtown Memphis. I docked a star for building/service. This place is extremely popular these days, and the location can't handle it. It's far too small. Because the place keeps a line, the staff lose some of their cheerfulness in an effort to help you more quickly. After having been there a few times, I've learned that, once the line has gone, their attitude is less hectic/flippant. So long as I get my cheesecake when I ask for it, I don't complain. This place is a hole in the wall, but it's a gem. Will likely have you touting that it's the best cheesecake you've ever had, often times even if you've been a die hard cheesecake factory lemming. Check it out. The cheesecake won't disappoint.

A Memphis diamond in the rough. I honestly had no idea I liked cheesecake until I came here. I don't know what store-bought crap turned me off years ago, but all of that changed when I came here. This is the best dessert I know of in Memphis. Half the fun is checking out what new recipe they've got in the cooler on a given day (I think they've got, what, 120 flavors in regular rotation?). An ex-gf and I used to keep a checklist of what we'd tried, and the fact is, with a couple of exceptions, I've never gone back to the same cake twice. They are so consistently good that it has become my quest for perfection. I've probably tried ~25-30 of them over the years. BUT, if I were going back for seconds, I'd go with: 1) one of several caramel/white chocolate/turtle variations - all those have been exquisite; 2) red velvet; or 3) peppermint - that one caught me off guard and was awesome. Oh yeah, one more thing: if you get takeout, you miss the plating with the awesome drizzle, powdered sugar, whipped cream, etc. I suggest eating it there and letting them fix it up. It's just not the same taken out, I assure you. Glowing praise aside, I've got a couple of issues that dock a star. OWNERS: 1) Make a bonfire and get those raggedy rain-warped plywood tables off the sidewalk. Outdoor seating is ideal here, but those tables are shameful. Replace them, or I'll bring my own, dammit. Seriously, it probably costs you customers. 2) The naked lady paintings plus the usual lush jazz music give a creepy vibe for those of us not trying to seal the deal with a date. Maybe it's me, but it seems there's enough sensuality in this place for a Steve Cooper establishment. Not exactly a place I wanna take Meemaw... or the fellas either, you know? Maybe that plays a role in my obsession with the outdoor seating. Just saying...

Love the Cheesecake Corner. Great way to end our date night when we are in the downtown Memphis area. My favorite is the carmel drizzle with the house blend coffee.

The first night we rolled into Memphis we were staying out by the airport so we were loath to go back and just sit in the room. We drove around after dinner looking at things when I got the brilliant idea of getting dessert. (OK, dessert may not be that brilliant or unique of an idea but it's my review, I get to give myself compliments as well.) I like the gumption of this little part of downtown Memphis, years ago it was humming 24/7 and now they are struggling mightily to come back. I also love the idea of a late night place for coffee and dessert. We ordered a lemon cream cheesecake and a cherry plus two coffees and sat outside to wait. Our friendly server brought it all to us speedily and we dug in. I was wishing that the emphasis on my lemon cream was on the lemon which didn't even whisper its presence. The cherry had a sauce and was much better. The coffee was fine but for the 23.00 we spent on two pieces of cheesecake and two coffees, I wanted to be a bit more impressed. Still, where else can you go and sit on the street, hear music from the bar across the street and chill before you head back to the sterile warehouse that is your hotel for one night. Thanks, Cheese Cake Corner for the respite!

My first time here and we got cheesecake to go. The atmosphere is awesome-lots of candles and low lights. Perfect date place! We got the sweet potato and peanut butter chocolate cheese cakes. AMAZING!! Will certainly be back to try the other 20 flavors.

Some women love chocolate... okay, MOST women. But I'd rather concentrate my diet demolition efforts on very rich, dangerously decadent desserts such as cheesecake and frosting. Yes, frosting. As in, leave the cake and take the frosting! So take a walk with me and imagine how far down my jaw dropped when I spied buttercream cheesecake among the dozen or so flavors at the Cheese Cake Corner. A seamless collaboration of cheesecake and frosting (and probably about a dozen eggs, a couple sticks of butter and three loaves of cream cheese), this dense yet melt-in-your-mouth slice of dream fluff is simply heart-stopping. Thankfully for me, not in the literal translation... though if I eat just another slice in my 30s, I may be pushing it. For only this reason, my dalliance with The Cheese Cake Corner has to be a one-time thing. I cry! I should probably mention that I ate half of the slice on the sly in my car, grabbed a pint of beer at a nearby bar and then finished off the rest in my hotel room where the now empty plastic container is still circulating sickly sweet buttercream fumes 'round my room. Mayday, I'm in trouble.... consider this my SOS. Four stars only because the $8+ sticker is a bit steep considering it's a New York price tag slapped on a Memphis-sized slice.

This is one of my favorite places downtown!! I think they have the best cheesecake ever!! I usually get the turtle but I've had the white chocolate raspberry too. They also have quiche on the menu which is quite yummy too. This place is perfect for afternoon outings. They have both inside and outside seating and the service is always great!!!

  • Elle S.

The "baker" is rude and obnoxious .... I've never been here before and when I asked him to help me pick one out of the THREE slices that I was getting he gave me such an attitude about how it's my choice.... I'm never coming back here again... I make desserts and charge ppl for it too so idon't care how much love u put into every piece when I ask u if the peach or strawberry it wouldn't kill u to be nice about it... Half the business is about the people who work there... Ugh and the piece I really wanted he dropped on the floor and it was the last one... Yeah thanks for the great experience. The peach tasted too much like apple pie and the apple pie tasted like Caramel... The strawberry was good. If I was on a date his behavior would have mortified me. And David M. c'mon this is definitely not the best cheesecake in the world.

  • Matthew N.

Literally the best cheesecake I've ever had. I was worried a bit that I would be accosted to and from the restaraunt as the area isn't quite up to the establishment, but I've never eaten better cheese cake. This place is a bit spendy, but worth it for a treat.

Holy Mackarel! The Best CHEESECAKE I HAVE EVER HAD. Rich, Creamy, and not overwhelming at all- it never felt TOO heavy which sometimes happens when eating baked goods. We helped ourselves to a slice of raspberry white chocolate and got the Red Velvet & Dulce De Luche to-go for a friend. Even after a day in the fridge it tasted delicious- that says something. Though the service could have been warmer, I'm told the man who helped us is the owner himself. He was having lunch when we came in so perhaps he was just a bit preoccupied. Either way, all is forgiven if he can concoct wonderful cheesecake like this.

Service - Zero point zero (to be said like that dude from Animal House) stars Atmosphere - .5 stars (there are birds in cages next to tables, how is this not a health code violation) Prices - .5 stars (apparently the cheese comes from the actual moon based on the price) Taste - 4 stars (It tastes good and they have a very nice variety to choose from) Music - 5 stars (reminds me of 80's porn music. I can't think of a better way to eat your huge ass piece of cheesecake than to sit back to some 80's porn music while stuffing your gullet.)

  • Ann P.

They have great cheesecake here. It's much more dense than the typical cheesecake factory's light and fluffy ones, but I like it. It's very rich in flavor and dense in texture that I can never finish a slice by myself at one sitting. A bit pricey for a slice, but I guess everywhere tries to up the price for these now days. Staff isn't very friendly especially the owner. The atmosphere is okay. I wish they would fix and clean it up a bit better for the price they charged for these cheesecakes. On the positive note, I love the cheesecakes anyways.

My beloved Cheese Cake Corner how I miss thee. Cheese Cake Factory can eat Its own damn soul when compared to Cheese Cake Corner in Memphis. After a romantic night out downtown or while in the South Main district, stop by. This is not as touristy because it is a little out of the way than your typical touristy clutter that you accumulate from Beale. It is a nice spot that I enjoy stopping by at when I'm home visiting. They have the best homemade cheese cake and quiche in the whole city. The cheese cake flavors are constantly changing with the seasons. Example: blueberry cheese cake during the summer months and a peacan cheese cake during the Fall. They just flow right off the tongue and make you salivate just thinking about it! The wine selection is decent too. Prices range from $7-$9 a glass. They also provide bottled coke products. A neat little touch you can add to your experience. Quiche is good for lunch or dinner. I can't elaborate too much other than when I've had it, it's always fresh and tasty.... Never lacking. I appreciate the patio tables they have set up outside the restaurant during appropriate weather months. I enjoy people watching while indulging in my sinful cheese cake of choice. I never get the same one when I go because their is too much of a variety to stick to the same thing. That doesn't mean I don't have a favorite though! I love the caramel cheese cake. You can never go wrong with it. When in Memphis, make this a "MUST STOP"!

I heard birds chirping, and I immediately thought that I had taken a blow to the brow and little cartoon canaries were circling my head. Then I realized that the birds were in a cage near the entrance. And I had only taken a bite out of the best cheesecake concoction I've ever encountered: a slice of Caramel White Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. The Cheesecake Corner is a part of what I consider a quiet, earthy subculture that sprung to life from Midtown Memphis, and grew into the downtown heart of the city. It's off the beaten path and many have never heard of this hole in the wall, which is just around the corner from the infamous Lorraine Motel, the site of Dr. Martin Luther King's assassination. The Cheesecake Corner has a wide selection of cheesecake and quiche to choose from: Strawberry Poundcake Cheesecake, Peach Cobbler Cheesecake, etc. However, the home run of the evening for my girlfriend and I was the Caramel White Chocolate Chip slice of heaven. I don't smoke, but I felt like I needed a cigarette after giving in to an animalistic, physical urge.

I haven't been here in over a year but my fiancé wanted some dessert so we went. Not much has changed. The cheesecake is delicious, but expect minimal customer service and clutter. You know how owners speak to their patrons and thank them for coming? You won't get that here, but you will get great cheesecake with creative flavors.

  • Jeff I.

I'm not a fan of cheesecake, but I love this place. The rotation of flavors keeps you guessing from visit to visit. I love anything coffee/caramel/chocolate. The coffee used to be 5 star, but now I'd give it 4. Try to go when it's not busy so you'll actually get a refill. I understand the comments about the owner...he seems a bit stand-offish, but the friendliness of his staff makes up for that. The presentation on the large, white plate with the drizzle and crumbs is impressive and you miss that when you order it to go. I've tried to recreate that at home and missed.

ORGASMIC! As I sit here and write this review, thinking about Cheesecake Corner, I can't help but lean my head back, close my eyes, and smile. It's not that good...it's BETTER! It's the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life. Well worth my $8. I can't think of the words to describe it. It is soooo good. That's all you need to know. Now, I have heard and read about how not-so-nice the owner is. But he is always nice to us when we come in, and has answered any questions I may have had about his creations kindly. I have never seen him be blatantly rude. He is a man of not many words, so no he is not the happy go lucky "Hey how ya doing folks" kinda guy. I have not tried the quiche yet. And the place itself does always have some random items sitting around, I have never dinned in, we would sit at the bistro tables outside. My one complaint... the hours. They are Wed-Sun but don't open until 3pm. One day I trekked downtown for lunch for the soul purpose of some cheesecake only to find locked doors. I was almost in tears. But anywho, it's damn good cheesecake. All of the multiple flavors are, you cant loose.

Cheesecake Corner is a Memphis gem tucked away in the South Main district! First, I must warn you this is where you go for awesome cheesecake but not a glowing customer service experience. The owner Kevin can be far from friendly so don't take it personally. He doesn't like to answer questions & will give you a look to kill if you ask for a flavor that's not in the case. The worst thing you can do is ask "What's good here?" He will give you a very pompous "Everything here!" I've watched him nearly bring a guest to tears. He's an ass but he's a magician in the kitchen. I've been going there so long that I'm numb to him. He knows me as a faithful customer so we share a tiny bit of small talk from time to time. Last winter, I left my scarf one night & he held on to it for 2 weeks knowing that I would be back. There's a variety of cheesecakes in the case each day. Once a flavor is gone, you're out of luck for the night. You have to be a bit flexible & willing to try out different flavors. The cheesecakes are VERY RICH! (I don't even want to know how many calories are in each slice). The slices are $8 and large enough to split. The wait can be long, especially in the summer. There is usually only one person running the shop at a time. That person is responsible to running the register, plating your cheesecake (making it 100x worth the wait) and clearing tables. The guys that work here WORK HARD so be patient with them & smile when you place your order. Grab a good friend and enjoy a slice & coffee while taking in the awesome artwork!

My husband and I happened upon The Cheese Cake Corner one night years ago when we had just moved into the downtown area. My life changed that night, as I am quite confident I will never ever find a better cheesecake eating experience anywhere else in the entire land. It simply rocked my world. There are about 100 (maybe more) different types of cheesecake to choose from and I haven't tried anything super fancy because I so love the Key Lime, strawberry and chocolate varieties. A slice is HUGE too- definitely more than you'll get anywhere else. You can also buy whole cheesecakes there. The place is really chill too so if you want to sit quietly and savor your coffee and heavenly treat, you'll get good vibes here. Try it, folks. I dare you to find better.

One word: YUM!!! I love this place. I found it searching Yelp! and boy was I glad. There were so many varieties my boyfriend and I found it hard to choose. We ending up going with the butter cream, cherry and brandy cheesecakes to take home. They were all awesome. The brandy was amazing and believe me they didn't skimp of the brandy. All the cakes were rich and creamy and the flavors were all great. This will definitely be on the list of places to visit every time we are in Memphis.

I can't even find words. If you insist on reading reviews, then feel free to continue. But nothing short of first-hand experience can come close to describing just how good this place is. No other dessert even exists to me in Memphis, except for the rare Cozy Corner Volvo Guy's banana pudding. Aside from the elation I feel that someone can make a living selling essentially nothing but cheesecake, quiche, and wine, this is absolutely top-notch. My girlfriend's mother is a home economics teacher and the pickiest eater I've ever met, and she said it was the best dessert that she'd ever had. Everyone knows a person like her, and everyone knows the value of that person's endorsement. I also feel like they're open whenever I want to go there, which endears a place to me pretty quickly since I sometimes want to go places at weird hours. Seriously, don't even read any more reviews. I don't have anything else to say. Just go.

The cheesecake is too sweet. The prices are ridiculous. The service sucks. Sorry, I don't do the "we're too good for you to eat here, but we'll let it slide this time."

Excellent cheesecake, myriad of flavors, and a huge portion combine to make it over $7 a slice! Way overpriced, but extremely good. I had the chocolate vanilla cherry cheesecake - chocolate crust, "regular" cheesecake filling, topped with cherries & their sauce (which tasted a bit store-bought but the cheesecake itself was heavenly). Judging from pictures, if you eat-in, a dollop of whipped cream is added, but it's not added to to-gos. I either caught the owner on a bad day or he isn't much of a talker; he certainly doesn't come off as very friendly to an indecisive person looking for suggestions...since no one else was in the store for him to wait on I would have expected a bit more in the way of customer service. Oh well, his baking abilities make up for it.

If you love cheese cake and you are in Memphis, do us all a favor and visit this place. I've eaten exactly two types of cheesecake here, and I intend on trying a different flavor each time I go from now on. The peanut butter-chocolate is insane, there is so much flavor in it! The buttercream is simple and delicious. This place is generally reserved for certain occasions, because if I were to visit once a week, I'd be severely unhealthy after a while. I am addicted. You will have to wait in line, and you won't know what he's got until you get to the counter, but the surprise is worth it.

Super cute little place in the South Main art district. Reminds me of a little French cafe or something. Due to the jacked up fact that I don't do dairy, not by choice, as I've mentioned 3,000 times by now, I took a bite of my husband's, and, to be honest, I saw Jesus. A very tiny Jesus winking at me through the ferns. It's really that good. People aren't kidding, and yes, you need to check it out. Even if it's to skip the cheesecake and join your sweets-loving friends if you're an unfortunate like me -- never fear, you can still much on really yummy chicken and grits.

I absolutely love this place! It's the best place for a night cap after eating downtown or after a Grizzlies or Redbirds game. They always have a ton of different flavors and I have yet to try one that I did not like. The slices are also huge, so if you're like me, you may want to consider sharing with someone else. They also serve wine if you want a glass to go along with your favorite cheesecake.

the MOST AMAZING CHEESE CAKE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Sadly, I'm not sure if I will ever be able to eat cheesecake ever again, as I know it will never ever ever compare to the amazingness of these cakes. I'm contemplating paying to get the cake shipped to my home in Chicago! Between the three of us, we ordered two slices, piña colada and chocolate. The slices are big enough to share! The cake was amazing... even the crumbs around the slice were delicious! Be warned, come earlier where possible, as the best slices are taken first! I was really really really disappointed that the key lime pie was not available, but the piña colada and chocolate did not disappoint! If you read the card of the owner, it says "Owner/Baker/Dishwasher" hahaha this explains the extremely slow service. The entire two rooms (and upstairs!) are run by the owner and his two staffers. I almost want to take away a star for the slow service, but they were so nice! The slow wait is due to the attention to detail, as each plate (no matter the wait) is decorated and served by the owner. I don't know about most people, but I prefer slow waits and attentive service to everyone, than rushed and rude service. I love this place, the interior reminds me of one of the dinkier art galleries I love, but it's all forgotten after the first bite. I'm seriously not joking when I say that I may never be able to have cheese cake again without comparing it the Cheese Cake Corner in Memphis.

I bake cheesecake myself, so I am VERY critical of every piece of cheesecake I come across, and I purposely try the cheesecake at almost every restaurant I go to. I've been to restaurants in several cities that are renowned for their cheesecake, and I have to say Cheesecake Corner is at the very top of my list with Junior's cheesecake in NYC: it's that good. I had the so-called best cheesecake in Philadelphia, and there was simply no comparison: cheesecake corner completely blew it out of the water. I honestly think that this is some of the best cheesecake you can get. The cheesecake may seem expensive at first (~$8 a slice), but it is completely worth it, especially since they serve large slices of NY style cheesecake. Every single bite is perfect, rich, and flavorful. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to make cheesecake, and they are able to do astounding things and create unique twists on the traditional cheesecake that you won't find anywhere else. You can not get better cheesecake in Memphis. My only qualm is that they're not open more!

Stop #5 on our cross country journey! The counter guy was lying down on a couch reading a paper when we came in and left, due to what I assumed was slow service (it was a Saturday afternoon). The image of this place needs improvement, and the tables hadn't been wiped down from what I would guess is the last handful of diners. That being said, the cheesecakes were delicious and rich, just like cheesecake should be. The slices were huge and could easily be split between two or more people, and stood upright until the very end of eating, which is testimony to proper baking. Wide variety of flavors are available, so good luck choosing which one you want! If you don't want to deal with a messy area that looks like it needs some renovation, then just order your scrumptious cheesecake to go!

In a word? DIVINE! This is simply the most amazing cheesecake to be found anywhere in this town, or any town for that matter. It's turning out to be quite a Memphis landmark. The cakes come in all sorts of varieties - caramel, coconut, turtle and cookies and cream, to name just a few. They are all so rich and so flavorful, you'll absolutely moan with delight. Honestly, I can't go on enough. My favorite is the Peanut Butter Chocolate. It's just decadent. Now besides the cakes, they also have a wine bar now and serve quiche. The quiche is actually almost as amazing as the cheesecake here, and come in a variety of flavors as well. The Spinach and Artichoke is awesome. The prices can be a little spendy, depending on what type you get, but range from $7 to $10 per slice. The prices on the wine are great though. All bottles are just $23 and by the glass, $6.

Best dessert establishment that I've come across in this city. This is a romantic type of environment. A great place for a date or to simply unwind. They have several types of cheesecakes here. I've had the pleasure of tasting the pine apple, banana cream, original, chocolate, Brandy ( my favorite), and poundcake cheesecake. All delicious. Face pace service and this place is black owned.

Heavenly, heavenly cheese cake. As someone that doesn't particularly love sweets, I can't pass this place up when I'm craving something decadent after visiting Gus's.

OH. MY. CHEESE. CAKE. HEAVENS. Seriously folks, if you haven't been here- GO NOW. NOW I SAY! Do not even finish reading this review. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I wanted to die right on my living room floor when I put this into my mouth. In fact, I was alone when I ate it, and I made delicious noises the entire time I ate it. Yes, I had a conversation with my cheese cake. I would say that it was high time for me to check myself into food rehab, but I know that the sheer deliciousness of these creations warrants all sanity to fly out the window. Even my dogs were drooling- there were puddles at my feet people. I ordered a slice of the Coconut Pecan and a slice of the Caramel Apple to go- fully intending on giving my husband the Coconut Pecan. Alas, this didn't happen and I apologize from the bottom of my fat-girl heart. Instead I had half of each and saved him the remains. More on his reaction later. I don't know if I can do it justice, but I will try in hopes of luring you into this terrific establishment. The cheese cake portion is wickedly insane. It is so creamy and rich and decadent. I have never had cheese cake of this consistency- and now I know what cheese cake should taste like. It's thick and it coats your tongue and mouth as you chew it- and the crust is crunchy, buttery and graham crackery. The Caramel Apple was perfection. The caramel immediately separated from the cheese cake when I put it in my mouth, it was the singular most perfect concoction of caramel I could imagine. It was sweet, but not too sweet, and creamy and just sticky enough. It was so amazing with the cheese cake portion of this dessert that I found it hard to believe cheese cake wasn't intended to always be paired with caramel. The apples were cooked in some way in which they disappeared into that cheese cake mixture- so you didn't feel the texture of the chunks- they were no where near obvious, rather an infusion of apple flavor with the tiniest bit of difference in texture, you could only find if you knew it was there. The Coconut Pecan was equally amazing. Coconut shreds were all atop this masterpiece and mixed within the fluffy cheesy goodness. The crust was definitely there, I could taste the graham crackery goodness, but atop that was a good 1/2 inch thick crust of this pecan mixture (think pecan pie texture minus the brown sugar) which was salty, crunchy and nutty all in one fell swoop. When my husband finally returned from work, I insisted he skip dinner all together and eat this. He protested, quite a bit I might add, until I screamed at him, "SERIOUSLY EAT THIS OR I WILL SHOVE IT IN MY FACE NOW!" I am pretty sure he thought I had lost it and needed to be checked into the Betty Crocker Clinic. Watching him eat this was the singular funnest experience of my entire week. He didn't speak till everything was gone- every last crumb. In fact, when I started to ask questions, he held up one lone finger with his eyes closed and mouthed "shhhhh." To which I completely understood and sat back till he was done. At that point, he rolled his eyes in the back of his head and sat back against the couch moaning in cheese cake ecstasy. I don't know if you are drooling yet, but I am. You need to frequent the Cheese Cake Corner- eff the calories and fat grams. This is worth it all. Every damn bite. My only complaint is the owner. I have a hard time saying anything negative about anyone who can bake and create like this man- but I must. I was lucky enough to get a play by play on how to order. Trust me- you'll need it. He is like the Soup Nazi. Seriously. Stay a good distance away from the counter while choosing (there is a couch you can sit on this may be the safest option) when you are ready, step forward with your choices and payment option in hand. Order. Step AWAY from the counter and wait for him to have your cheese cake bagged and ready. Step forward and pay. IMMEDIATELY leave- do not say anything or ask any questions. I made the mistake of trying to chat him up about his crab quiche. Never again. He never answered me, never smiled, never flinched. NOTHING. I felt like a damn fool and was ready to never come back, ready to blast him a new one in this review. But alas, the cheese cake made me forget all that nonsense. Just go in prepared. He ain't a talker, he ain't even what I would call friendly- but you NEED his cheese cake. I now am a cheese cake junkie. Thank you Cheese Cake Corner from the bottom of my fat girl gut!!

Celebrated a winning work day with a dinner of cheesecake followed with a cheesecake dessert. There isn't a parking lot but I had no problems finding street parking. I had a main course of chocolate cheesecake followed with a lemon/blueberry cheesecake slice for dessert. Each slice was $7-$8. That took me back a bit but when I realized how much I've spent for a slice at a Cheesecake Factory restaurant that isn't a locally owned business, it's reasonable. There is a full set of quiches and cheesecakes you can order ahead. More flavors than I thought possible and if you come up with one, they'll work with you to make it!

I am definitely a fan of The Cheese Cake Corner, and cannot wait to one day return to Memphis for an actual evening at the place. My fiance and I spent a a weekend in Memphis and had to make this place #1 on our stop. After a great meal of Pho, we trekked across town, walked off dinner, and then picked up some lemon/strawberry cheesecake for the road. It was good. Not completely amazing. But definitely gooood. And good enough to spend dessert money here. Give it a shot if you are around. As its inside is really cute and reminds you of the big city atmosphere you get when you combine coffee and cake!

We have eaten cheesecake there two days in a row - it's absolutely delicious! We want to try their quiche, but they don't open until 3pm, the only drawback. (in our opinion quiche is a breakfast or brunch food). German chocolate is excellent - they all are!!!

After reading the other reviews, there's not much more to say. Great cheesecake in a great part of town. I like it because it is a great place to get dessert before hitting the bars. It's also a great people watching spot. They have a patio which gives them bonus points. It seems that every time I go there the selection has changed which is a good thing. You can't really go wrong. I've never had the quiche so I can't comment. I guess the only negative is that the line is out the door on weekends so if you're not a patient person you might get a bit perturbed. I think the service is fine but they do run a tight ship in terms of staffing. It's a small business so I think that's to be expected but don't be surprised if the guy who takes your order is also the one who brings you your food (and probably baked it that morning). All in all, a wonderful spot for any occasion.

If you enjoy cheesecake, this IS YOUR PLACE!!!!! Best cheesecake ever. The place isn't much to look at, but it is the best food. I even hear their Quiche is great too! If you are visiting Memphis then you have to stop by here.

This is the BEST cheesecake I have ever tasted! I always try to go in the afternoon, as it gets very busy at night. The service can be bad, but you will never put anything else like this in your mouth. It is to die for!

The Cheese Cake Corner hands down is the best spot in Memphis for dessert. I remember coming to this shop when it first opened and the business has exploded since then. I really like how you have such a wide variety of really good cheesecake slices to choose from. And, every cheesecake option I have tried has been great. Another really big positive about the cheesecake corner is the ambiance. Its a really great place to bring a date or friends to chill out over some good cheesecake. The only real negative about the place is that I wish they had more people working there. It would be nice to have two people work the counter and another person strictly serving everyone. The wait to purchase your cheesecake can be a few minutes. But, the cheesecake and ambiance is soo good that its worth the wait. I really love this place and we're lucky to have something like this here in Memphis. I highly recommend the Cheesecake Corner.

Loved this place! The cheesecake is wonderful and the guys who own/ work there are great! They were friendly and very helpful when trying to decide which of the 20 or so cheesecakes we should try. I had the caramel pecan cheesecake tonight and my friend had caramel coffee cheesecake and they were both to die for!! Can't wait to go back! My only dislike is the gross bird cage in the front window. That really needs to go!!

What a wonderful spot in the South Main Arts District of Memphis! I learned that The Cheese Cake Corner was one of the original spots that helped to "build up" the neighborhood. There is outdoor seating -- I had a fine time sipping wine and sampling their quiches and cheesecakes in the sun...what a brilliant selection! The spinach and artichoke quiche was great, a little spicy, just the way I like it; and the turkey and dressing quiche was wonderful as well, served with gravy and a little cranberry sauce...clever! I tried the coffee caramel cheesecake, and I admit, I am craving more...maybe the lemon with blueberry or coconut rum next time. Emmmm... I paid attention to one customer gushing to the owner that her daughter shipped The Cheese Cake Corner's coffee to her and how she uses it on special occasions. And I hear they are adding ribs and waffles to their menu...I guess I am coming back to Memphis soon!! The staff and owner are absolute darlings...southern hospitality with flavor and edge.

  • Jason M.

You know I don't know what the big deal was that everyone bitches about the owner. He's eclectic and different but I think its the foofy, trendy southerners coming in there that makes the guy uptight. He was cool with me. But I was surrounded by people who were saying in thick southern accents "I think he's Jamaican. Look at his dred locks" "What's brandy? Does it taste sweet?" On to the cheesecake. It's good and creative with ample portions. But nothing better than you'd get anywhere else like in Chicago, New York, or other major city. It is the best in Memphis, I'm sure. A few words of advice, get there early. What he makes for the day is what he has left. Don't get impatient with him. Don't jump ahead in line to see what there is. Service is slow as there is two guys working there. Be prepared to wait in line. Take the Main St. trolley down. Some buildings on the way are abandoned and look a little creepy. It is in a nice little oasis though.

It's cheesecake, how can you not rate it five stars. Oh, did I mention that it tasted great and is probably one of the best cheesecakes I've ever eaten! Try the chocolate raspberry it's my favorite. They also have a nice selection of wine and quiche as well. Great late night stop. There is sometimes a line to order or for a table, but it is well worth the (short) wait.

  • J Z.

I just came here today, and was once again reminded about how delightfully sinful this place is! The cheesecake is definitely to-die-for! I like how they decorate it all pretty for ya. They seem to have changed the layout a little bit, the "main section" is now cheesecake-to-go, and the wine and quiche section has the "real" selection. oh, and one star off for the bloody canaries... is that hygienic? I don't really fancy the sight of feathers flying all around...

Wow!!!! I've been in the restaurant business 14 years and have worked with some very talented pastry chefs. I challenge anyone to find a better cheesecake. A bit pricey but well worth it. More than enough to share, but who would want to. The atmosphere is cozy. I agree with another post, can do without the canary cage. Don't sit by the door unless you're prepared to listen to the door slamming all night. Great coffee! Voss water in the glass bottles! Incredible chocolate cream cheese brownie. If you live out of town, think twice about shipping these wonderful cakes to your home. You will almost buy another whole cake ($46) to have one shipped!! If you eat dinner downtown, skip dessert and head to the Cheesecake Corner.

Fuck Cheesecake factory, this is THE kinda place a cheesecake place should be. Lots and lots of choices without the mass produced feel. It is a little pricey, but its damn worth it. Worth an extra roll around your gut. Ya'll Southerners make a fierce cheesecake, open up a place in SF!

This is the place to go if you want the very best cheesecake in the world! They offer several different flavors of cheesecake, and when they serve the slice to your table, it takes over a huge dinner plate...not to mention how fluffy and tall the piece of cheesecake stands! One piece is enough for two people, but the best idea is to go with at least one other person, everyone get a different flavor, then share! You will not be disappointed to find this best kept secret in the South Main Arts District!

  • David M.

THE Best G*d*mned Cheesecake in the WORLD!!! And I've had cheesecake all over the world. This guy has dozens of different flavors of cheesecake from which to choose. From the basic like Key Lime Pie, to the more sublime: Raspberry Chocolate, Pumpkin Pie. All of it ORGASIMICALLY GOOD. Recently they added a quiche and wine bar, which I'm told is good but pricey. But its the cheesecake that you need to try, in order to have a full and meaningful existence.

Delicious cheesecakes! Huge slices! Great art (and the best artists! I love them), live music, and an overall sophisticated atmosphere. The quiches are okay, over seasoned to me, but I've tried almost every flavor of cheesecake and the only one I didn't like was the sweet potato pie one- way too rich. Edit: S.M. sorry you had a bad experience here- I know service can ruin everything. Fortunately I haven't had the owner be rude to me like that, but I can see how he could come off that way. I happen to know some of the artists whose work he displays and I am usually with them, so that may contribute to the better service.

I have traveled the world! and never taste a cheesecake so exquisite. I remember my first visit... It was so impressive how creative the owner come up with so many flavors. Every time I'm in Memphis this is the place to be! Love love CHEESECAKE CORNER

  • S M.

I've been there at least 2 times and every time I'm shocked by how rude the owner and his serving staff is. Other people I know have shared similar negative sentiments. For instance, if you go there, watch the "tip" portion of your receipt (because they've been known to add in amounts.) Check your credit card statements. Another time, I spilled my wine and they just walked by me (woudn't re-fill it). Just general negative energy and VERY VERY RUDE comments...they think they can get away with it because there's basically nothing down there.

  • J R.

Yes, the owner is rude. He has been since the day the doors opened, which is how long I have been coming here. His cheesecakes speak for themselves, though, and the majority of the time I have been in, the owner has not been working the counter to interact with customers. There is always a good selection of flavors and even when you get a to-go order, the presentation is top notch. My favorites are the chocolate chip and caramel white chocolate, while my husband loves the cheesecake brownies. You can easily make a serving last 2-3 nights. So good!

The cheesecake here is absolutely perfection! However, the service we have received time and time again is less than professional. Our latest (and last) experience was the worst yet. My wife was 40 weeks, 1 day pregnant and sat down to relieve her feet from the walk over. We knew the wait would be long, as we had 15 in our group and there were 2 couples in front of us. The person working the counter was also the only employee present, he mentioned this several times. He said his name was Kevin and identified himself as the owner and the manager. As he was delivering cheesecake to another party, he announced to the entire restaurant that sitting and saving seats was not permitted and my wife needed to stand in line with everyone else. My wife looked at me helplessly and I assured her I would let him know she was pregnant. On his way back to the counter he said (announcing to the whole restaurant, "I guess you all didn't hear me. Don't sit down until you have ordered." As those in my party and myself tried to explain, he suggested we leave and take our money somewhere else. That was all we needed to hear, and we did so gladly! He continued making comments to us as we left. Our party of 15 left, without ordering, the couple in front of us left, and we stopped a group of 5 heading in, who also had a pregnant woman with them. Later, when another woman from our party called, Kevin was screaming at her on the phone. The cheesecake can stand on its own and will be the winning factor if they continue to be successful as a business. The customer service has always been lacking, but that experience was the last straw for us. We have family and friends that visit from out of town and we always took them here as one of the "must-have" spots in Memphis, but we will no longer continue to do so. I'll say it one more time, the cheesecake is delicious. Unfortunate, the service left a bad taste in my mouth. We will not be going back.

This is by far the best cheesecake I've ever had. I come here every time I have to go downtown. All home made and all unique flavors.

  • Joelle P.

Let me put it this way, the cheesecake is so good they don't have to have good service. Not that they have "bad" service...I'm just saying that they don't have to win people over by whispering sweet nothings in their ear because their cheesecake is so damn good. Is it expensive? Yeah. Do they have weird hours? Yeah. Is there always a line? Yeah. Does any of that matter? Not really. Because it is yummy and totally worth it. Plus I love South Main. And they totally get bonus points for being in a cool locale. Insider/local tip: Pop next door to Hoot + Louise after you're finished to browse some super cute vintage items.

Strawberry cheesecake is usually plain cheesecake with strawberry topping, but not here! The strawberry is mixed in with the cheese, along with chunks of cake adding tons of texture to each creamy bite. The original cheesecake was really good as well. Everything here is minimal - the decor is minimal, the service is minimal, the place itself is minimal - but all you really need is that small display filled with so many different types of cheesecake.

  • Kristina M.

Being new to Memphis, I was told to try the cheesecake here. So I went there today and asked Kevin what he would recommend. Although he was a little standoffish, and responded that he makes too many cheesecakes to tell me, I bought a slice of the blueberry cheesecake. Overall, besides the service the cheesecake was good. Creamy, not too sweet, just the right flavor. I would definitely try another slice of cheesecake from here.

I realize that everyone goes here for cheesecake and they should but this place also has the best quiche I've ever tasted! Try the crab quiche if you can, it's amazing! I love dining here whenever I'm in the area. Every cheesecake I've tried is amazing! They are closed Monday & Tuesday.

  • Meghan G.

Best cheesecake in town! But like everyone says the service is atrocious. The owner once told my boyfriend "to hurry up with making a cheesecake selection because he didn't have all day." Other than that, give them a try! I'd recommend sharing a slice just because the slices are so big and decadent. I've tried just about every flavor!

    (4)
  • Joseph P.

Appearance is poor. You'll be worried looking at this place at first glance. But if you look harder you'll see a struggling business who's made the sacrifice to ensure you get the best slice in ages. I'm a huge cheesecake lover and am very critical of what I eat. This wins for sure. Give it a try while it lasts!

  • Raquelle Z.

This is a nice place to go for a good selection of cheesecakes and some really delicious coffee. My only negative comment is that I didn't feel welcomed here, even though I had quite a large order. It was as if we were disrupting the plans for the afternoon.

  • Ron B.

Based on the experience when I tried to open the door to this location on a Tuesday, this place gets a 1 STAR! There was no sign to say they were closed and the person in there said "Come back tomorrow". What downtown store in ANY city closes on Tuesday?? His attitude alone gives this place my rating! If the cheesecake taste like his bad attitude ..keep it!

Stopped by today to pick up a few slices of Cheesecake for the office. Encountered the very arrogant owner, and when asked for a recommendation, he refused, and said " all my cakes are the best. If they weren't selling I'd pull them". He was short and very rude. The cake itself was good. No lie. But not good enough to pay nearly $10 a slice. That's more the Cheesecake Factory. Memphis is getting one of those soon, so I'm sure business will dwindle here. Place needs new management.

I love cheesecake and theirs is great! I've had he red velvet / strawberry and turtle. All delicious. He has a unique eclectic place with lots of stuff to see which we enjoyed walking around after we ate but now we just get to go. Oh and portions are HUgE. Two people can easily share a slice.

So I've been wanting to eat cheesecake for the last few days since we've arrived to memphis! This place is open Wednesday thru Sunday from 3 pm till 9 pm. Come to my surprise, one slice is $9.78. Hefty price for one slice if you ask me. I think it's priced more than the Cheesecake Factory. Anyways, back to the review. It's a nice little shop...actually two shops into one since they took over the wine bar. You have to walk to the "other" door to get in. The counter is in the back. Plenty of cheesecakes to choose from! From lemon pound cheese cake to a more basic caramel white mocha cheesecake. We went with the CWM cheesecake. It was soft, velvety and rich. Not overly sweet although he did add extra caramel drizzle and white powdered sugar. It's topped with store bought whip cream in a can. I think I was more hyped about the name...Cheesecake Corner....that I built up the longing and desires for a piece. Only, there was nothing special about this piece but it was a good piece. Just no "wow" factor. I'll probably try something else next time. Maybe the pound cake ones.

Well who would have known about this place?! Was told by a family member to check it out. I couldn't be any happier! Very old building which I guess could give it a little charm, but that is not what matters. What matters is that the cheesecake is off the charts! Once it hits your mouth everything about where you are is removed and you are taken on a magical trip to cheesecake land!

THIS PLACE. The cheesecake that changed my life. Literally. I can't even drive down the street it is located on or I will go indulge upon one of their many amazing options. The staff is great too! Please stop by after a dinner downtown or a night on Beale.

Pros: Local AND competing with (leaning towards better than) The Cheesecake Factory! Had a slice of the Strawberry Chocolate Chip cheesecake and it was heaven! My slice was drizzled w/ strawberry syrup and embedded in a chocolate crust, the cheesecake was rich with a multitude of textures and LOTS of flavor! The cheesecake filling was absolutely PERFECT!! Real strawberries and chocolate chips used for the filling = yum!! They've definitely gained a new customer! Cons: Would have been a nice touch to have better coffee options, not too crazy about the coffee offered.

Amazing cheesecake, but saw a side of the owner that was uncalled for. During the most recent trolley tour in April, the owner was VERY VERY rude to multiple customers. Yes the were unusually busy, but to go off on customers the way he did was shocking!!! It felt like an TV episode with the soup nazi! For future, WARNING do not ask questions or he will snap on you too!!!!

The cheesecake is worth it!! I saw this spot a few years ago when I was visiting but they were ready closed for the day. This trip to Memphis I made sure to stop in there and try out some sweets! My boyfriend and I got a slice of Strawberry Poundcake Cheesecake. It was SO delicious. I had to put it away just so we could enjoy some later in the night too. They had so many options, I'm already thinking about which one I want to get next time. It is pricey for one slice but once you taste it you will totally understand and accept that the price is worth it.

I'm a foodie and I prefer supporting local spots. After 10 years out of Memphis, it seemed like this was the new hip dessert stop. I was so disappointed. Nearly $20 for 2 slices and water. The man at the register was arrogant. I smiled and said I'd never been there before. Instead of being helpful he was snarky and said 'I can tell'. There is no rhyme or reason to the set up of this place. No ambiance or decor. There is a loft with someone's messy office in plain view. It's confusing as to whether you are waited on or order at the counter. The cheesecake- what a snooze fest. Not worth $10 a slice. It's a far cry from Junior's in Brooklyn and it certainly isn't The Cheesecake Factory. The blueberry was just plain cheesecake with pie filling on top. And the chocolate raspberry tasted more like berry oreo. No ganache? No bittersweet to accent the framboise? Major let down We cleaned our plates- I paid $20 and I was gonna get my money's worth. However, we won't be returning. I can make better cheesecake at home.

There is nothing bad about this place. AWESOME cheesecake. Every time we are in Memphis for dinner, we stop by for cheesecake to go. I have never had a flavor that I didn't like. I can only speak for the service at the cheesecake case, the guy who works there is always nice to us. The cheesecake is packed up and they give you napkins and forks (just in case you can't make it home before having a bite). The slices are huge, it usually takes about 3 days for me to eat the whole thing. So worth the price. You will not be disappointed.

Cheesecake was good, but not as good as it should have been for $9. If there isn't a Cheesecake Factory around, go here. Management attitude could have been a whole lot better. Very short and dry. Not the attitude to have when merchants are buying your products.

I / we have been coming here for a few years now and have never had a bad time. The cheesecake is the best I / we have ever had hands down. We have tried many different types and they are all awesome! If you haven't tried it you are missing a local gem! Many reviews speak of the service and lack of coddling. While we have never had bad service nor have they ever been rude they have gotten more outgoing and the hours are more steady. This is one of if not the best desserts in town! Enjoy!

I'm a well-traveled eater, and these varieties and portions stand out. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired so I typically get my cheesecake and quiche to go. The buttercream cheesecake is amazing. It's something I treat myself to only every once in a while, but when I do, I love it and regret it simultaneously.

The cheesecake is very pricey but very rich, delicious and worth it. They always have an overwhelming selection from which to choose. OJ ( server) is super cool. Ambiance is sweet and there is usually some sort of jazz playing.

So good!

This is a nice place to go for a good selection of cheesecakes and some really delicious coffee. My only negative comment is that I didn't feel welcomed here, even though I had quite a large order. It was as if we were disrupting the plans for the afternoon.

  • Linda P.

  • Latrice H.

Cheesecake was good, but not as good as it should have been for $9. If there isn't a Cheesecake Factory around, go here. Management attitude could have been a whole lot better. Very short and dry. Not the attitude to have when merchants are buying your products.

OH. MY. CHEESE. CAKE.

Enjoy!

  • Kendra T.

Oh, my! Without a doubt, this is the most incredible cheesecake ever. About 15-20 different kinds that are all made by the owner. We all had a piece there and one to go. I highly recommend the brandy one.

Greatest cheesecake on the planet, SON! The owner knows this, so they open when they feel like it. Reminds you of that soup nazi episode on Seinfeld. Several varieties made fresh daily. You can't go wrong here!

  • Jolynna M.

In a word?

OH. MY. CHEESE. CAKE.

Hand's down the best cheese cake I have ever had. Can't remember all the ones I've had, but not a single one disappointed.
