That lamb burger is good. Seriously the best burger I have had and this is including beef burgers. My only concern is that this place almost seems like a burger tapas bar because fries don't come with your meal. Maybe I am the weirdo but I automatically want those black salt fries with my lamb burger. They have high chairs if you want to bring your little one. They also have outdoor seating for some grubbing and people watching. I didn't try the milkshakes but that is definitely a great idea! Minus the alcohol for me but if we ever go back I will definitely try that with my lamb burger. Service was great and the decor is very cool as well.

The atmosphere of Oshi is eclectic and trendy! The music is fitting to the location and makes you want to spend an extended amount of time in the resturant. The customer service is mediocre. I entered the resturant and was ignored for a while. But once I was acknowledge the service is acceptable. I ordered the All American Burger (I think that's the name). The burger was made to order satisfying. In addition to the burger, I order the special tots. The tots were absolutely delicious but I could have done without the sauce that came in it. I did add the house made ketchup (that is available for purchase) to my tots. It was perfect! The house made was somewhat spicy but not too hot. Overall I was pleased and will come back IF in the area!

I really, really enjoy Oshi Burger-which is somewhat ironic...because I have yet to have one of their hamburgers! Before you write this review off, know that I've been twice and their hotdogs are amazing. I have nothing against their burgers, but I couldn't help but order the Seoul Patrol, a hot dog with, "Korean BBq Short Rib, Kimchi Slaw, Chili Aioli, Cilantro" the first time, and the Danger Dog the 2nd time, which features a, "Wagyu American Kobe All Beef Dog, Bacon Wrapped, Crushed Avocado, Cotija, Chili Ailoi, [and] Pico." They are both amazing: filling without being disgusting, cooked well, and the crazy flavors bounce off each other very well. I order both with an order of fries, which are thin and crispy. An order of fries is just enough for one hungry person, and I recommend them. Along with the food, I ordered the Sake Colada, "Coconut Sake, Vanilla Vodka Vanilla Ice Cream, Toasted Coconut," and it was fantastic. I'm not the world's biggest fan of coconut, but it wasn't overpowering, and was just sweet enough. Oshi Burger is a great concept, and a great value. One person can eat for about $12-15, which is a great deal compared with other places nearby. It's truly unique and a great addition to downtown Memphis.

Literally everything about that place is amazing--from the cow hide seats and samurai vibe to the cocktails and food which were prepared to perfection! I got their signature burger and it was so good I said I didn't want to ever eat a burger anywhere else. Clearly that's a lie because I'm visiting Belly Acres for the first time right now but yeah... Oshi is special.

I had a fantastic lunch here---absolutely fantastic. I followed the advice of a fellow yelper and ordered the Mo-Rockin which is a mouth watering delightful lamb burger (medium well) topped with feta dressing and cucumber pico (I want the recipe for the cucumber pico). My friend had the Father's Choice which had just the right amount of toppings and she enjoyed it but has already decided that she will order the lamb burger next time-yes, its just that good. We had the had the house made tots as a side and they were tasty. I would like to try the fries next time. Great service and great food---the serving size is just enough to make you full and not have any leftovers.

We went to dinner here over the weekend and it was great! There were 5 of us so we were able to try numerous things on the menu. 1. 50/50 Burger: Ground chuck and ground bacon patty, onion jam, cheddar, ballpark mustard, house made pickles- Very Good! 2. Everybody's All American Burger: Angus beef patty, bibb lettuce, tomato, red onion, American cheese, and burger sauce- Very Good! 3. Mo-Rockin Burger: Spiced lamb patty, house feta dressing, and cucumber pico- This was delicious!!! 4. House made tots: bacon and cheddar stuffed, house ketchup- disappeared in seconds 5. Tempura onion rings: I didn't try any but they all disappeared 6. Philly egg roll: cheesesteak eggrolls with a beer cheese mustard dipping sauce- This was great and the sauce was unreal! 7. Samurai Cheese dip: white cheese dip with peppers- Just Ok, I would get something else next time 8. Everyone had fries with black salt - awesome! 9. Then chocolate shakes- Perfect with a malt flavor Overall great time and experience. Really cool futuristic diner style environment, clean, good music, awesome staff and service. If you have questions ask because they know the menu. Only complaint was the menu was a little pricey for a burger joint and everything ala carte. It would be much better if the burger at least came with fries. Although that being said, I will go back again for sure!

Presentation of food in this place is wonderful. I love the cutting board for plate concept. Also that cow skin benches is off the hoof. The environment is just wonderful. Food is also tasty. The ingredients looks nice and fresh. The weird combinations they have works, but nothing super special. Wiener plus bacon is good combination, but needed something more to make it special. Same for the burgers with exception of all american burger. But I think that was suppose to be bland for refuge of non adventurous taste buds. Overall pretty good experience, but a bit pricey for what you get.

Way overpriced burgers. Burger was just about raw and the fries were an extra 10 bucks that I was not told about.

I took the family to Oshi. We were all disappointed. The biggest thing that made the experience less enjoyable was all the flies inside the restaurant. They were all over the place. The service was good. The food was not that impressive. Again I think it was the flies that made the for a terrible dinner. Not sure I will be back.

Went here with two coworkers because we wanted something quick and close by. Not happening. It took 40 minutes to get our food. And I had to ask the server for our check. To be fair, they did seem to be short-staffed and the two servers I saw were busting ass. Last week, I had a similar experience when we waited 30 minutes to get our check. It's solid food-wise - especially the fries. They just really, REALLY need to work on improving the service and speeding things up in the kitchen.

Quite possibly the best burger in Memphis. It's a very close toss up between this place and Belly Acres as far as which has the better burger. I've only tried one burger at each, so that means I must continue going back to and trying different burgers at both places (darn) to determine who will own the crown. I'm a huge fan of high quality ingredients, local grown, etc., and this place delivers. Not only do they offer a unique array of flavors and toppings for their burgers, but they also have an assortment of Kobe beef hot dogs and shakes (some with liquor). Their fries even come with house-made ketchup that tastes like no other (in a good way). I can't wait to go back and try something different!

I love this place, the Decor is suuper Chic and fun and the service friendly and efficient. We have eaten here twice recently and had a great experience both times. I like a good Hot dog every now and then but this place has a GREAT Hot dog, (actually several) they are taking the lowly dog to new and wonderful heights, gourmet wonderful beef dogs. On our next visit I was craving a burger so I ordered the wagyu 50/50 burger with half beef and half bacon, onion jam, cheddar cheese, mustard and homemade pickles...YUM! We will definitely be back, so much on the menu I would like to try.

  • Daniel M.

I first heard about Oshi by someone describing it as the Kobe beef burger place. OK that got my attention. Although I didn't order a kobe beef burger, I still felt like this was a premium burger establishment. I went with the 50/50 which is a half beef half bacon mix. Not gonna mince words. A+ burger. It was exactly as good as it sounds. But what really stood out for me was the homemade fries with homemade spicy ketchup. Almost tasted like horseradish was mixed in. You know how you mix wasabi in with soy sauce at a sushi restaurant? Just enough kick to let you know you are not eating regular ketchup, but not too much to make it unfamiliar. I felt like someone cared when they made this menu. They cared enough to not just serve frozen fries with bottled ketchup. You get the sense that every burger and menu item has been carefully thought out. I like that.

There's a new restaurant in downtown Memphis, y'all! And thank goodness! Things were getting a little stale there for a hot minute. But have no fear, Oshi Burger Bar will alleviate your boredom and shake things up. For starters, I'm digging the ambience...like a lot. Cow print covered booths and white marble at the bar...I'll just be swooning over here because this is different from everything else in Memphis. And you know that scene in When Harry Met Sally? You know the one...and here is a little refresher if you need it: youtube.com/watch?v=b0Oe… . Well, that **may** have happened when I bit into my 50/50 burger (Ground Chuck & Ground Bacon Patty, Onion Jam, Cheddar, Ballpark Mustard, House Made Pickles - I'm drooling as I type)...but not because I was trying to prove to Drew that I could fake an orgasm. It was, in fact, a result of the burger...and the Malt Shoppe shake complete with Vanilla Ice Cream, Malted Milk Malted Milk Balls, and some are brave enough to spike it with Bourbon (although if I had alcohol in it, it would REALLY be because of the shake). I've been super impressed with all of these new restaurants popping up around Memphis. We are definitely taking it up a notch in the restaurant department as a city!

My wife and I were in dire need of good food after participating in a 5K. Thank God she remembered this cool spot that just opened. The decor was so cool and everything was clean - OCD Alert! Anyhow, the waiter was very informative and had great convo concerning the food selections. I decided on the Siam I Am Turkey Burger which was super good. The fries were awesome and had great taste with the light truffle oil - Woah Buddy!! Definitely worth a splurge of money next time!!! Fries for Everyone!!

Ahhhh finally a burger bar in Memphis! Initially when I moved here, Local had one of the best burgers in all of my travels. Thankfully they opened up a spot downtown with that as it's primary focus! We went when they did not have their liquor license, so we couldn't really indulge on their adult milkshakes. So when I come back to try more of their deliciousness, I'll be sure to have one of their sweet treats. I had their signature Oshi burger cooked medium rare to my liking. Great burger to bun ratio, and the meat was tasty... definitely not frozen meat! The mushroom topping could have used more spicing up, but I was happy none the less. Only gripe, is that the plate that they serve it on is too small and not forgiving if you were to drop some food onto the table. Happy that they serve Japanese beers such as Hitachino, and especially at an affordable price! I don't think I have been to a real sushi restaurant where they serve 4 different Hitachino beers. Local drafts on sale as well, and their long bar is great to sit at to catch a game on their TV. Try the sriracha edamame, not too spicy as you would expect. The kimchi bacon cheese fries were good and temperature hot, but the kimchi wasn't impressive... more like slightly pickled red cabbage. Anyhow, I'll be back to try the rest of the menu, the hot dog sausages that others were ordering around us looked good too! I won't be surprised if I try out their whole menu soon!

I ordered take out - the "Conscientious Objector" veggie burger with tomato, red onion, Swiss cheese, and bibb lettuce. The veggie patty itself is delicious! The "Skinny Fries" are good. A little salty. I loved the ambiance and will definitely dine in down the line. I asked for the avocado and burger sauce on the side. When I got home, the avocado was on the burger, despite the lengthy discussion about confusion over putting the avocado on the side. I think the burger would have been better without the avocado. #Yelp901

Popped in here for a very quick bite before a show at the O. Great little outdoor patio area out on Main to do a little people watching. And the tater tots were great!

Went back again before a grizzlies game. The food was pretty good but the service was terrible again. I think that maybe they were understaffed and were not using the staff that they did have working in the most efficient way. We were sitting at the bar and the bartender was waiting tables OUTSIDE! If the bartender does have to wait tables for some reason, it should be the tables close to the bar, right? Our food sat by the kitchen getting cold for over 5 minutes before we finally asked someone to grab it for us (not the bartender because she was no where to be found for a while). I really want to like Oshi but I think they have some kinks to work out.

This place is pretty cool, just not really a place I see myself frequenting. And it's because of me, not them. My friend and I came here, me after hearing great things and her after hearing they have alcoholic milkshakes haha. They have an eclectic menu of American foods with a decidedly Japanese twist. My friend ordered a burger, which came with fun things like pickled red onions. She loved it, but it was huge. We ended up taking some home. I ordered a hot dog with their special chili and beer cheese. It was huge as well, definitely not something I could finish in one sitting. We both ordered fries, which come in unique bowls. My only complaint is that the entrees came on plates that were more suitable for sushi than messy foods like burgers and hot dogs. I kept tipping my plate over and dumping extra condiments on the table. I felt like a messy child! We each got their Malt Shoppe milkshake, which was delicious! Could have been much larger considering how expensive it is. Probably wouldn't get a milkshake again because of the cost, but it was a fun little treat that day! Overall, while the atmosphere and food are pretty good, it wasn't really my cup of tea. If I return, it will be with others...I don't see myself enjoying this place all the time. Just not my go-to food...the place is definitely worth checking out!

Burgers seem to be the new "it" thing for Memphis. There's been a recent boom in burger restaurants, with Oshi, Belly Acres, plus a few others. I came here with some colleagues on a Friday night and the service was actually pretty good. The food was also good. I forgot what burger I got but it was tasty. However, it wasn't mind-blowing, it was just "good." The presentation was nice, but the prices were on the higher side. I had a hard time deciding 3 or 4 stars, but ultimately went with 3 because for the price, the food was just OK. It it were less expensive, I'd definitely go with 4 stars.

With all the new burger joints opening lately it's been almost impossible to try them all and to be honest I've been pretty disappointed, well until I tried Oshi Burger Bar. We were walking around Downtown trying to decide on a place to eat and we all decided on Oshi. I love the décor of this place. How can you hate a huge John Belushi mural, cow print booths and a bar that beautiful? I had to order a milkshake, had to! The Malt Shoppe Shake! Oh Yeah! Great way to start things off! Nice kick. I ordered the Toro Toro with fries and my Wife order the Everybodys All American with onion rings. We also ordered the House Made Tots which was some very tasty stuff. As soon as we got our burgers we promptly split everything and shared so we could try as much as possible. I loved the Everybodys All American, the Toro Toro was just soso soso. It needed something. It just didn't have enough flavor, however the All American was a winner! And by the way, the house ketchup rocks! I definitely have to say this is the best of all the new burger places.

We were able to check out Jeff Johnson's latest concept thanks to a charity pre-opening tasting event. The very fair price offered a taste of a wide range of options on the menu. The space is a nice small upscale diner layout across Main st from the original Local Gastropub. Ample patio seating is available out on the Main st mall as well. There's also a long bar area inside with seating. Service was prompt and our waiter seemed knowledgeable and engaged us in a timely manner throughout the meal. We had a group of four and used that to try a wide range of dishes. The entrees: Hot Jam Burger (5/5). Big flavor. The most popular entree of them all. Fathers Office Burger (4/5). Very tasty. Messy. The blue cheese was subtle which was nice. Tora Toro Ahi Burger (4/5). Also good. The tuna seemed to be in some sort of processed patty vs a chunk of tuna. Hard to tell but there seemed to be a lot of filler. Tuna flavor was buried. Very tasty overall though! Thai Juan On asian sausage (4/5). Very flavorful. Loaded with toppings. love an egg on top of any meats so that helped top it off. Overall Notes: these entrees are normal burger diameter, but are stacked TALL. The toppings are so generous that they make them a challenge to eat, while also somewhat masking the flavor of the meats. I realize the goal here, but a burger should be a platform of meat/bread, with a compliment of toppings to help set it off. The flavors of these burgers are intense and delicious, just understand that a traditional burger lover might be left wanting somewhat. The size and generous nature of the toppings requires care when eating as well. The sides: Fries: 5/5! Excellent think crispy fries. Best I've had in the city. Nice house mustard with a heavy dose of srirachi sauce. Tempura onion rings: 5/5. Light. Flavorful. Well presented. Also complimented by the house ketchup. Sriracha Edamame 6/5! Delicious garlic and spice sauce over well cooked beans. Huge hit at our table. Philly Egg Roll 3/5. Seemed very basic with beef and velveeta. Texture left something to desire. More onions inside? Needs something. The alcoholic milkshakes: Kentucky Head Hunter. 4/5. Light bourbon flavor with delicious vanilla ice cream with caramel. The crisp bacon bits atop are an excellent touch. Godzilla (4/5) Mint liquor with choco/mint iced cream. Godiva chocolate and Oreo pieces top it off wonderfully. Very rich and tasty. Sake Colada (3/5) Nice flavor but I'm not much of a coconut fan. Fresh shredded coconut was a nice touch though. Overall: very rich. Our tasting portions were good. The full sized portions will be filling so leave room! Tell the bar to be a BIT more generous with the liquor pour to set the drinks off a little more. Love this place though... Will definitely be back. Fantastic concept with great vibe and menu.

Since my first visit I have come back twice. The service is much improved and the food is still tasty! They use a black salt on the fries that is simply wonderful.

Was craving a good burger and heard about this new place on Main St. Even though the reviews were almost 50/50 I will have to agree that the service can be quite slow by the servers especially for a small restaurant. Although the burgers are what we went for; hence the name of the restaurant we were more thrilled with the fries with chili & beer cheese and the Godzilla milkshake way more than the burgers which left a little to be desired. The burgers were good but all of the great flavors mentioned on the menu - you can't really taste in the burger. I would visit again for the fries & a shake. :)

Well, I went super excited about this place. Menu looked sooo good and I loved the idea of adult milkshakes (which are $10 on the menu there, but appear as $9 on their online menu). Buttttt, I just really wasn't crazy about it. I had a pretty good burger - the tuna that they serve rare. I liked it, and thought it was a fine price for a downtown burger (although, I'll be going to Huey's if I want another downtown burger). My friend got the veggie burger and really liked it - said it must have been homemade. I also got the apple pie moonshine/bacon shake - it was pretty gross, and I *love* all of those things. Everyone at the table had a sip and hated it, but the waiter was super nice (the entire time - 5 stars for service) and replaced it with another - the coconut one - which was certainly better. End of the day, I think adult milkshakes are not for me. If I go back, I'll just get a beer. The atmosphere is good! Seems a good place to watch a game and eat a $10 hot dog....if you're into $10 hot dogs. Perhaps most disappointing were the fries. I got the kimchi, bacon, and beer cheese fries. The fries themselves were good, but the "kimchi" was not like I'd ever had...it was more like red cabbage kraut than kimchi (and I dated a Korean for two years, so I've eaten a *ton* of kimchi). I guess it just didn't really taste like anything. It comes in a good sized portion for one person, or two folks that aren't terribly hungry. The bacon was good and crispy. The saddest part was the beer cheese that had the texture and taste of nacho cheese...like nacho cheese that is a little too thick and a shade less flavor. Service was great, again, but I'm giving it two stars - "Meh, I've experienced better," I doubt I'll be back. Wasn't "bad" by any means but it wasn't good enough for a return visit.

I have read and heard so many great things about this establishment. I must say I have been very excited to try this place. The restaurant is very nice and the waitress and waiters were great. The food looked great when it came to the table. But I must give this restaurant only 2 stars. Even though the food looked very good, it was freaken bland. There was no seasoning at all on the meat. I had the 50/50 burger w/ the chili cheese fries. The chili on the fries were bland as well. There was no masking the preperation of this meal. I thought my be it was just mine but my said the same thing about her burger and fries. The bacon on the burgers and even in our shakes had no taste. Yep bacon that has no taste, can't believe it myself. Sorry guys I don't know what all the hype is about this place. Don't know if I will come back, it up in the air.

Other folks must have come on an off night. This place was awesome. I had the burger with chili. The bun was perfect, a little salty which I like. The meat was cooked perfectly and the chili was on point! The fries were good and I would say I was close to being in love with the house made ketchup. Waiter at the bar was super friendly but not overbearing. I really enjoyed the PB&J a milkshake as well. Oy thing I didn't like was that it wasn't free refills on soft drinks.

I had high hopes for Oshi, being a Japanophile myself and hearing about the concept of a Japan and asia-themed burger place really exciting me. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. Lots of very interesting ideas on the menu, from a seared ahi tuna burger to classics to the Oshi Burger with "kobe" beef and japanese flavors. I got the Father's Office burger and I made a good choice. The best blue cheese and bacon burger I've had. My wife tried the kimchi hotdog and really loved it. We also tried the tempura onion rings, which used thick, crisp red onion rings instead of white and a thin tempura batter. Served with house ketchup which is spiked with Sriracha, it was an excellent combination. Personally, the best onion rings I've had and I would love to get those nearly every time I had onion rings. My other two family members got the seared tuna salad and another burger. We all loved it. The decor and design here is fantastic, lots of pop culture influence and cheeky themes woven in here and there but all done very well. Service was young but friendly and on the spot. Now, the only thing I would say was disappointing at all was the milk shake, and this was probably because I got the non-alcoholic version since I'm not really into alcohol. I got the Godzilla shake, which is like a Godiva white chocolate cookies and cream. Without the alcohol it was pretty standard. Not to mention the portion size of it is very small for what you pay for. Very cool atmosphere and design, fantastic burgers that stand above the competition, unique and interesting takes on nearly everything on the menu, and great quality make Oshi Burger a definite win in my book. Looking forward to going back.

After walking around downtown for about 30 minutes we finally decided to go to Oshi as the mister was dying to try their oshi burger. Nothing disappointed. We ordered the house made tots instead of fries and they were amazing. He got the oshi burger and it is now his favorite all time burger. I ordered the tora toro tuna burger and loved it. Did t want it to end. The aioli and the avocado gave it a creaminess and the red cabbage I wanted just a bowl of it to eat. The chilled house sake was the perfect accompaniment to it. I loved the decor of the place as well. The John Belushi sushi chef wall really sold it.

Good. Big attraction was alcoholic milkshakes. Yummy, but not much alcohol kick. The fries were good. ,PD had an Oshi burger and I had a Danger Dog. We liked bothy of them. Service was quick and attentive. The wooden plates are kind of small for the size of the servings. Stuff dribbles off the sides.

One of my favorite new spots. Everything is good. I feel like some of it is a little overpriced but the location is fun and the food is great. I recommend the Thai Kwon Doh! The Crouching Tiger cocktail and Godzilla milkshake. Truffle garlic fries are a must too.

Was craving a burger and decided to go. Fun Japanese influenced menu and vibe. Tried the Oshi burger (Kobe patty) and Father's Office. The Oshi burger has a soy glaze which made the burger way too salty. The Father's Office burger was lovely and hit the spot. We got the bacon and cheddar stuffed tater tots which were strangely UNDER salted but still good fun and we polished off two orders just fine. Pretty good burger joint. However soda is $2 for a can which feels like a bit of a rip off.

First of all the atmosphere is amazing. It's like a 1950s diner but set in the future, if that makes sense. The jim belushi SNL mural gives it just the right mood. My turkey burger was delicious; it's easy to dry out poultry burgers but this was moist and the chili aioli was a perfect pairing. The asian wings were cooked perfectly and the heat was just enough to please the buds. Good food, fun atmosphere. Open late!

  • Amanda H.

The burgers are ok, but over priced. The atmosphere was decent, but there were flies around my head while I was eating in the inside of the restaurant. There is only one toilet for the men and women, which was kinda unfortunate, I had to wait! I had the Oshi burger and it was ok, I needed lettuce and tomato on my burger! The fries were decent.

So far, so good for Oshi. Service was terrific and not as slow as I feared since the place was brand new and packed. Kudos on that. My food was delicious. I had the 50/50 Burger and fries and was extremely impressed. I'm anxious to try more of the menu. However, to do so, I may have to sell my car. Oshi needs to seriously take a look at the ratio to portions and price. With tip, a burger fries and coke shouldn't be $17. I would rather them 86 the wagyu beef if they could save me some money. Or make my burger bigger than an oversized slider. If they want to sustain their lunch crowd, I'd advise they get some specials. Or you won't have many repeat customers in this town.

  • Glen M.

I wanted to like it. The appetizer was recommended by the waitress (philly egg rolls) and was delicious! The burger on the other hand was underwhelming. The bun needed to be toasted badly and it just soaked up the onion jelly into a goopy mess on top. Another thing that gives this place 3 stars is that there was a giant piece of fat in my 50/50 burger. Not very appetizing.

So I went here 2 days in a row, that pretty much explains that I loved the food. The fries and edamame are lip smackingly great. I ordered a Thai kwon doh and it is hands down the best chicken hot dog I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his veggie burger and my friends their 50/50 and lamb burger. The chicken wings were just ok, not too great. The shake with the bacon bits on it is pretty good. Overall a much needed cool addition to main street. 3/4 more restaurants like this, and main street would get amazingly lively and interesting!!

I was really disappointed. I had been looking forward to try this place and felt quite let down. The burger we got was supposed to be blended with chorizo but not only wasn't spicy at all but pretty bland. The fries were like old McDonald's fries. The house made ketchup was the highlight of the whole meal. Service was a little slow especially getting our first drinks. I may give this place another shot at some point but plenty other places I would pick first.

First time going and won't be my last. Very stylish, fusion atmosphere. Great variety on draft, not to mention spiked milkshakes! Menu very original with Asian fusion everywhere from tangy Asian ketchup to tempura battered hot dogs. I had the special of the day: bun, Kobe beef burger, fried egg, caramelized onions, cheddar, bun. Freakin awesome. Burgers are tall so you have to dig your face into it. Enjoy. Grab a vodka milkshake for dessert, lunch or dinner.

I really enjoyed my Mo' Rockin' Burger!!! However, I had to ask for some slight alterations to make this Mo' Rockin' Burger a fraternal twin. I introduce to the OSHI burger lovers the ----MOUNTAIN HIGH LAMB BURGER--- Step 1. Add a generous portion of the feta & mint spread. Step 2. Top the Lamb burger with OSHI 's ONE-OF -A - KIND PICKLES. Step 3. Add 2 OSHI TEMPURA FRIED RED ONIONS. Step 4. Fill the center of the Tempura Fried Red Onions with the CUCUMBER PICO. Step 5. Place the generous layered bun on top and there you have. .... THE MOUNTAIN HIGH LAMB BURGER!!!

First visit... ordered a Fathers Office burger and side of fries. Service was friendly. The burger was tasty and rich and a bit messy. I am impressed by the usage of Creekstone Farms beef. The food is probably a little to heavy for me to be eating regularly for lunch. This will be more of a occasional visit on our lunch rotation. I am a big time fries lover... these are pretty good. Bardog are still the best downtown. Prices are a bit too high for regular lunch visits. My bill was around $13.50 with water to drink.

The interior of this place is very pleasing to the eyes and I love the cow hide benches. We went on a Saturday evening and it was surprisingly empty, but we were happy not to have to wait to eat dinner. I shared a virgin Godzilla shake with my niece and it was pretty good, but it could have used a little bit more mint flavor. Sometime I would like to try the version with the booze to see how it is. We got the House made tots as a starter and they were awesome and like no other tater tot I have ever had. My niece my hesitant to try them because they didn't look like what she expected, but once we got her to try one she really liked them. I wish they gave you more of them in your order, because they were eaten very fast. The presentation of the burgers was very nice, but the small cutting board made it a little hard to cut the burger in half without have various condiments on your burger falling off onto the table. I had a chop shop burger sans Dijon and it was excellent. I tried the skinny fries and I did not like them, but my husband did. This place could easily be 4 stars if they would either lower the prices or give you a side along with your burger for the price they are charging you just for the burger.

My friend and I came here for our first time after hearing good reviews. Our server was Devin. I ordered The Seoul Patrol dog with a Godzilla (No Booze) Shake and he ordered the Father's Office burger with a PB&J (No Booze) shake. We shared House Made Tots and Truffle Garlic fries. Our total came out to $48.07. We were both very satisfied with everything we ordered and the service we received. I would definitely go back again.

Experience: The hype around Oshi got me excited, sadly it did not live up to it. Wife and I waited 10 min in the doorway waiting for someone to acknowledge us. When we were finally seated, the table was dirty and our waiter was no where to be found. I would totally let these things slide if they were extremely busy but they weren't. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and believe that they were short on staff that evening. Food: The burger was a little dry, but they do have the greatest beef selection I have seen so far. Fries were fantastic and their ketchup was great. Overall: I gave it two stars because first impressions matter and this one was not great. However, I believe you should always try something twice! Hopefully I can redact my two star and replace it with four!

I had high hopes for this place but as I am Currently in the restaurant no other people are here and the service is so slow. The employees even had the nerve to stand around snapping to the music as if to mock us that they really do not care to have a sense of urgency. We got our meal before our appetizer and still had to wait for it to come out even after we finished our meal. The server has still not taken my empty plate away or asked us how we are doing. Although he prolly knows we aren't enjoying ourselves and shall I remind you NO ONE ELSE IS HERE DINING! Why is the service so slow!! The food is dry and the kimchi is not kimchi. The bulgolgi was a joke. It was like chewing on shredded toothpicks. Really disappointing. Enjoy better service and food some where else.

The food would've probably been better if it had been warm. We were excited to try Oshi after a Grizzlies game on MLK a weekend. The place wasn't crowded at all when we showed up and we were excited to sit on the heated patio on a Monday night. Unfortunately, we didn't even get someone to ask a drink order for 10-15 minutes. This was just the start. Drinks took 20 minutes, taking an order took 30-45, we had to walk inside 4 different times to ask for drinks, burgers, a check. After 2 hours, 3 cold meals and a conversation with the manager, we finally were able to leave. Never coming back, and I'm a regular downtowner.

The milkshakes are amazing. I had the PB&J. The burger was OK at best. Maybe I expected too much. The fries are nothing special. The spicy house made ketchup...wow, lets just say I am NOT a fan. Decor is cool. When people do saki bombs, they bang a tiny gong. Surely they will realize how lame this is and throw that gong in the river.

We had an out of town friend in town and had just seen Bass Pro - and since the weather was amazing- sauntered here for lunch al fresco. Our server was really great (she looked like Julia Stiles!), and friendly. The best thing? Happy hour at lunch on Saturday - $2 beers! Yes, please. Our food all was really good --- two of us had burgers and one had a hot dog. My turkey burger was thinner - but fresh - and a nice bun. Hubs and I split the truffle fries - they were an addictive treat!

I was expecting a bit better. Four of us shared four burgers and they were decent. The shakes were really good though. When summer rolls around and it's a hot day the patio with a good shake will be ideal!

Great burgers! The menu is great! There are hot dogs, burgers & fries! We had the chop shop burger & fries! The garlic truffle fries are amazing! The fries come with homemade ketchup which is great! The service was great!

I went there on a Saturday afternoon. Service was good but we went directly to the bar. We had an appetizer and 2 of their alcoholic milkshakes which are a must-try. Not sure about the other menu items but we will definitely be back for those milkshakes!

Like Local, Oshi is all about the sizzle and not the steak. You look at menu and get excited. Then the real restaurant shows up. Drinks took forever. Food order was wrong AND cold. Go to Elwood's Shack or Slider Inn. Much better experience. I really wanted to like this place, but it's just too underwhelming

Great food. Period. Seriously, who thought a hot dog could be so good? I certainly didn't until I tried out Oshi. Kobe beef hot dogs are nothing like the hot dogs I ate as a kid. These are actually good. Between the excellent food and good service, I will definitely be back.

I wasn't sure how I felt about eating at a burger joint with the name of a sumo-wrestling term, but nonetheless I tried it because my friends had some good stuff to say about it. I went with my buddy before a Tigers game one night and had a great experience. First off, it's right on Main Street in the heart of other very good restaurants, which is a plus. When you walk in, you notice it's a small place but the overall look is bright and unique. We went straight in to sit at the bar to watch some basketball while we were eating and realized they had a good beer selection, including some good local brews (they better!). I felt required to try the Oshi Burger - the namesake - my first time there, so I did, without the shitake tapenade because I didn't know what it was and it scared me a little. My friend and I also shared an order of Truffle Garlic Skinny Fries. By the looks of my happy plate, I could tell I enjoyed it. My taste buds agreed with me too. The burger was juicy, tender and had a wonderful unique taste to it and the fries were good too. The service was quick and efficient and the bartender was cool and interacted with us. We were done in time to make it to the Tigers game to watch them lose. That was the only downside of the night.

Nice hip ambiance, you could think you are on a coast. Kudos to their interior design consultants for that. They also charge like that though, just the food isn't quite worth it. The Father's Office burger was very nice (bacon, blue cheese, caramelized onions), don't get me wrong, excellent size in particular - very much the sweet spot between too big and too small, you could eat it, have some fries and were just pleasantly filled. So thumbs up for portion size. But why the insistence on how you cook it? My wife is pregnant, this is the one time she would like her meat to be cooked through, no deal here. And if I would like mine medium rare, why is this an issue as well? Oh and, you are paying at a level where you could ask for it to be cooked to order whatever that might be. French fries were crispy not soggy, much appreciated. I had high hopes for the tater tots, but they were a let down, mostly a great vehicle to eat their mayo with Sriracha and soy sauce, but not worth the price. The beer glasses were relatively small. We didn't try their shakes, look promising. Three hostesses? They were mostly giggling around.

Brilliant concept!! Everything has tons of flavor and is very unique. The Srirachi Edamame was amazing - spicy, but so good! Husband had the Oshi burger and I had the Tora Toro (tuna burger) - both were great! Definitely try the fries and homemade ketchup. Can't wait to come back to try the shakes!

Decent burgers, although they are a little small for the price. I had the 50/50 burger which is ground chuck and ground bacon and which is delicious. The truffle garlic fries are $3.50, but really good. My biggest beef (minus two stars because of it) is the soft drink situation. Soft drinks come in cans, and there are no free refills. If you want refills, you're limited to water or tea. That is totally unnecessary, and a major turn-off. Let's hope they reconsider this stupid decision and get a fountain behind their bar.

The Sriracha edamame is yucky. Unless we were eating them incorrectly they were way messy. After 2 trips to the restroom to wash my hands, a few wet naps wouldn't have been unwelcome. The Godzilla shake was okay although not really much there for the cost. My charming companion has deemed the Oshi Burger just okay (grumble $12.00 later for okay) and I had the Conscientious Objector. Again, just okay. It arrived with the burger sauce (bleck) I asked to be removed. Both came on little wooden plates which were a bit impractical for the size of the burger as there's no place to readjust when something starts to come apart and spit out the other side. The Tataki Salad looks interesting but there's another restaurant in Midtown with a good one so, despite me working Downtown, I can't say when we'll be back.

Oshi is a complete win regarding atmosphere, services, presentation and concept. I love the cow print booths and the boutique hotel looking interior. The menu presentation and tableware is also very cool. The menu descriptions are enticing however both my and my dining companions burger was somewhat bland. I had the 50/50 burger and she had the daily special which had avocado, an egg (which wasn't mentioned) and grilled onions. If I hadn't read it I would not have known the patty was half ground bacon. It all looked incredible and delicious but it fell short regarding taste. Not that any of it was bad, it wasn't....we were just left feeling like something was wrong with our taste buds as both burgers were lacking in flavor. As much as I like the presentation on little 6" square wooden trays, its not really practical to be expected to eat from them as there was burger juice running off of the tray onto my table within 10 seconds of its arrival. The fries were good, shoestring style if thats your thing, and the tots were quite incredible. Here is my main beef with this place (see what I did there?) 2 undersized designer burgers and fries with an order of tots and one canned soda....$40 after 20% tip. Had my socks been knocked off, the price would have not been an issue, but they are still pulled up somewhere around my knees. I have spoken with many people in my office who have eaten there and they felt the same exact way. I hope Oshi refines there recipe to provide more flavor and looks at ways to bring their prices down to a more reasonable level because this has potential to be an incredible burger bar. They have the foundation for something great here...they just need to work on it a bit more.

I love this place - I just don't know if I can afford it! I've been here three times, though, so I'm obviously a glutton for pocketbook punishment...so far it's been the Mo-Rockin' lamb burger, the Seoul Patrol dog (killer Korean BBQ short rib & kimchi topping!) and the eponymous Oshi Burger - yum, yum, yum!!! Try the house made tots but maybe not the tempura onion rings...truffle garlic skinny fries were great!

This was my first visit to Oshi and only stumbled upon it by walking down Main. I ordered the Chop Shop Burger (I believe it was called) and the stuffed bacon tater tots. We ate outside because the weather was nice, and both waitresses serving the outside patrons were awesome and on top of everything. Specifically a girl with blue hair and blue eyebrows...she was great. The burger was good but the cutting board plate idea was really annoying. I had parts of the burger falling off and onto the table the whole meal because the board was so small. Cool idea but not that practical. The stuffed tater tots were not was I was expecting in a negative way. Basically they're tasteless hushpuppies with hash brown and bits of bacon inside. I would pass on those if I were you. Anyway it was a cool place, decent food, and nice staff.

Very unique ambiance. It has a retro flair. You will find the the menu has a fusion of Asian and American. The burger was flavorful. The fries are accompanied with a in-house ketchup. I couldn't quite put my finger on what was in the ketchup. But it was good. You won't go wrong by trying this place out.

Oshi is another restaurant making the decision of where to eat on Main St. Memphis a difficult one. The menu is simple but diverse enough to please adventurous and picky eaters alike. The "Everybodys All American" burger was juicy and full of flavor. The fries were a tad undercooked, and I would prefer regular ketchup over the sriracha-infused house ketchup, but by no means did either ruin the meal. We were seated immediately and the service was spectacular. I look forward to returning.

I've only been to Oshi once and it was during Downtown Dining week so perhaps I will revise my rating if I go again under more typical circumstances. I got the bourbon + bacon milkshake, which was delicious. I also got the dining week special burger which was wagyu + truffled cheese + truffle shavings. Being a $20 burger I had high aspirations. Despite having 3 "truffled" items on the burger, I didn't expect much truffle flavor. I know that I'm not getting any "real" truffle shavings for $20 -- but even then you would think I would get some sense of truffle flavor -- even if it is that nasty truffle oil fake stuff. Unfortunately I got no truffle sense at all and ended up just having an "average" burger for an above-average price. It didn't even come with fries! The service was fine, aesthetic was neat. I'll definitely go back.

Recently, another restaurant has entered the Memphis burger scene. Located on Main Street, Oshi Burger Bar serves hamburgers with an Asian flair. That alone would have been enough to warrant a visit, but the fact it's owned by the same person who also owns Local Gastropub, home of one of my favorite burgers, made it a must-see for me. For those of you who follow this blog, you know that Local Gastropub ranks high on my list of favorite burger joints because of its signature burger that someone on Foursquare... er, Swarm said was "amazing" (I miss my "mayorships"). Given Local's past success, I was confident that I would have a great experience at the Japanese-themed burger bar. (Pardon the "skip" in this review; I can only say so much on Yelp) Underwhelmed in my first visit, I wanted to give Oshi another chance at impressing me with its burgers. For the second visit, I got the Oshi Burger featuring Wagyu American Kobe Beef. Until then, my only experience with Kobe beef (or so I thought) was with a burger at the former Stella Restaurant, a Downtown location that's currently occupied by Flight. If the beef in the burger was raised by traditional Kobe standards, then it should have been rich in unsaturated fat that comes from marbling. From what I read about it, the rich content of fat in Kobe beef makes it very tender, to the point that it literally melts in your mouth. I can't remember if the so-called Kobe burger that I had at Stella did that when I ate it, but I'm certain it wasn't the real deal because it only cost fourteen dollars. A genuine Kobe burger (something that very few American restaurants serve) should cost fifty dollars or more. Putting that aside, my faint memory of the Stella burger was memorable because it tasted different from anything that I had before. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the Oshi Burger, for its "Kobe" ground beef didn't taste any different from a typical burger. Even after taking into consideration that the meat was "American Kobe" as opposed to its Far East counterpart, the beef was indistinguishable from most burgers that I'm familiar with. After paying twelve dollars for the Oshi Burger, I don't believe that I got good value when compared to other places that serve better burgers for less money. (Skipping again) With Oshi's burgers being a bit of a disappointment, I got a non-burger item from Oshi's menu that is something that I really like. The Seoul Patrol is a beefy hot dog with kimchi slaw, Korean barbecue short rib, chili aioli and cilantro that really nails it in terms of taste. The best part of it is the hot dog itself (made with Wagyu American Kobe Beef) that is very good and on par with noted hot dog restaurants like Chiwawa and Bardog Tavern (the latter serves a broader menu so it isn't strictly a "dog" place). The tangy kimchi slaw and short rib were good toppings that nicely complemented The Seoul Patrol for a genuine gourmet experience. After a few visits, I can say that Oshi Burger Bar didn't impress me. Although the hot dog, fries and ketchup were very good, the burgers were a huge disappointment. Even after putting aside the debate about the authenticity of Oshi's Kobe-style beef, the burgers are good but not worth the money. For what I got, I can go to restaurants like the Majestic Grille or Huey's for a bigger and better burger that is somewhat cheaper. In a bit of irony, I can also go to Local (Oshi's sister restaurant) for its signature burger that is far superior to the Oshi Burger for about the same price. While it's not a likely burger destination for me, the service is very attentive and friendly. For those who like to stay out late on the weekends, Oshi stays open until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. I can see myself hanging out there on a late Saturday night, trying one of its non-traditional burgers like the lamb-based Mo-Rockin or one of its burger or hot dog specials. I believe that Oshi Burger Bar has a lot of potential, but it needs to step its game up if it wants to appeal to burger lovers like me. NOTE: The three stars are for the burgers only. The hot dog and kimchi fries are excellent. To read the entire review, go to kensfoodfind.com/2014/11…

Went there last night for dinner -around 10 pm- Good food, the "tora toro burguer" was tasty but the service was awful. I sat on the bar and the bartender could not be more slow, the bar was packed out and only 1 bartender!serving. Tables were packed too and not that many servers eather. They should have more people. I might be back, not sure yet!!!

My husband and I went on Saturday afternoon after the South Main Arts Fest. We were really impressed! I got the Mo' Rockin burger and it was great! My husband got the Oshi Burger and his was to die for! SO GOOD. The ambiance was great and the patio was nice. My only complaint is that they serve your burger on a Japanese bamboo sushi plate.... that is not meant for a big sloppy burger. I like the idea...it just isn't practical.

My husband and I tried Oshi last night for the first time. It's and adorable location with great design. Our appetizers and drinks came out at a reasonable pace, and they were all delicious (tots and fried green beans). Then, we waited for over an hour for a hot dog and a burger. We had no silverware and had to ask the hostess for it. Our server completely ignored us the entire time we were there, never checking on us once during the ensuing hour wait for food. Never filled our drinks, never made any contact at all, all the while walking past us 50 times to his tables outside. After a table who came in at least 40 minutes after we did got their food, we finally flagged him down and he said he had no idea what was taking our food so long. After being servers ourselves for years, it was clear to us that he had forgotten to ring it in. And honestly, we would have understood this if he would have just admitted it. We are NOT ones to complain but this was just ridiculous. The manager apologized profusely and took our entrees off the tickets, which was kind. But we definitely got a bad taste in our mouths about going back again. Food: great. Staff: not great.

Wow! What a fabulous find! One of the Best burgers we've ever had.The chop chop and the 50-50 were both excellent burgers - juicy and tasteful and not overloaded with salt. The sangria, and the Godzilla milkshake were to die for. Two thumbs up - which is all the average person has - so a) it's really good and b) all I can give. We would recommend to anyone. Cool atmosphere. Friendly, funny staff - they were attentive and in tune to being on a road trip. The guy who we thought was the owner - but quickly told us he was just "bossy" was very quirky and entertaining. Not overly so- just enough to make us glad we came.

Great concept, very clean, and good bar selections. As a new business should be they seem to be working out some kinks with service and scheduling. We went at an in between time Sunday to watch football and were not in a rush at all. However, burgers definitely took more than 20 minutes to come out. Once we had them, the burgers are gourmet so expect a 4-6 oz hand made patty, we were in heaven! Amazing taste and I even got the veggie burger- my husband had their version of a black and bleu and he loved it but crushed it in a few seconds. We loved their milkshakes- I subbed bourbon for moonshine in the Kentucky Headhunter. It was amazing!

I had their Godzilla milkshake (without alcohol), and it was delicious. It tasted like I always imagined a Reptar Bar from the tv show Rugrats would taste: a perfect marriage of chocolate and mint. I will go back again just to get this milkshake. I had the tuna burger because I don't eat beef, and it was really tasty, especially with the slaw on top. It even tasted good when I ate the second half of it the next day (the burgers are big!).

Turkey burger and lamb burger was awesome. Menu needs to be changed out everyday and attention needs to be p6sid to cleaning booths prior to sitting patrons. Suggest they put the sliced cucumbers and mint sauce on the lambburger as an option.

Overall, my experience at Oshi was really good. The atmosphere was fun, fresh, and inviting. The food was good, the burger was great! There were only a few things that kept this from a 5 star. I ordered the Chop Shop, and totally loved the parmesan crisp and truffle aioli. The downside was that it was messy and the plate is only as big as the burger, so I felt like a child after seeing the mess I left behind (all over the table). Still, I would definitely order this again. The temperature in the restaurant was SUPER high. I was sweating most of the time. It was cold and rainy outside, but I was relieved to walk back out in it after our meal. Good thing they keep a bottle of water on your table to refill your cup yourself, I liked that feature. The fries were underwhelming, and that is saying a lot since I love the skinny cut fry. We ordered the truffle garlic fries with their ketchup. I must preface that I was comparing these fries to Little Big Burger's (Portland, OR) truffle fries and ketchup. They did not even compare. If I hadn't had Little Big Burger's tries though, I think I would have enjoyed Oshi's fries. Will go again, but will get extra napkins and probably won't order the fries.

Excellent burger. The "all American"(?) was the best burger in Memphis I've had. "Chop shop" was acceptable. Onion rings and Godiva milkshake overpriced and nothing special. Will skip those next time. Chilli fries were quite good. 5star for the burger!!!

3 hours from the time we got seated (7pm) till we left. our table had 10 people, but our order wasn't confusing. we had burgers, fries and 1 drink each, burgers were dry and service was not just slow, but very slow. Servers were friendly however. They charge full price for soda refills. The checks got all mixed up and they never got it right so we gave up trying. I don't believe I'll be returning to this spot.

This fun place has sooooooo much potential. I ordered the turkey burger, paleo style with the chili on the side...I didn't want a messy burger. The burger was great!!! I never got the chili, even after I requested it TWICE!! I fries were good, I did expect them to be piping hot considering they were not busy at all. My fiancé had the 50/50 and he loved, he would have loved a bigger plate! The garlic fries were good too. I love the water bottles, decor and the music was great. I think with a lil tweak here and there this place could boom!!!

Great place to grab a bite. The husband had the Oshi Burger and loved it (yes, it came perfectly medium-rare as ordered!) and I just fell in love with my Mo-Rockin Burger, which tasted so much like a delicious kebab sandwich....just much better. I also ordered a side of kimchi because I saw it paired with another dish, but unfortunately it was not good. I can't even describe the taste, but it had nothing of the vinegary sweet fermentation taste. The house-made ketchup that came with the fries though made up it! A bit spicy, a bit vinegary, a bit BBQ-y, very tasty! The wooden boards on which the burgers are served are cute and different but not very practical because they're relatively small for the size of the burger. The staff is friendly too, giving you enough time to look over the menu, not hovering over you, but attentive. Keep it up and we'll definitely be back!

Great atmosphere and some new options for us to try along with some oldies. I had the lamb burger and onions rings and Hubs had the dad's work burger and fries. My burger had awesome flavor and his was ok. Strangely enough the part of the meal that sticks with me most is their delicious house ketchup. I could eat that stuff all day.

I love the concept and the decor. I decided on the Chefs Burger of the day - beef , with grilled yellow onions, cheddar, and arugula. It also came with fries. The burger was delish, but not the best I've had, but there were some nice flavors. The fries were, well let's just say I've had better.

This place looks like something out of a Quentin Tarantino movie, a mix between Kill Bill and the diner from Pulp Fiction. It was a very interesting concept. They did not yet have their liquor license when we went so the only shakes available were nonalcoholic. We got the Malt Shoppe & it was delicious. I got the 50/50 burger. It was just a hamburger, no outstanding flavors. They cook their burgers medium to medium-rare if you do not tell them. The other burger we got was the Chop Shop. It was a lot more undercooked than the other one, extremely pink. We talked to the manager and she apologized for this and gave us 50% off the burger. Fries come separate so you will pay $3-$6 for a bowl of fries (depending on which kind) Their ketchup is mixed in with some kind of hot sauce thus making it more of an Asian spicy tang. Overall interesting experience, probably wouldn't go back.

My friend and I had read great reviews about this place and decided to come with some friends after the Grizzlies game. It was very convenient located in the Main St area. We parked at the structure on peabody and it was an easy walk over. The restuarant probably seats about 50 with some outdoor seating (coveres during the winter). It has a bar anf wotks well for groups but I would go early if you are with a large party. We walked in and were seated immediately. We started with edamame. It was well cooked but our serving had a lot of chili sauce. It definitely had a kick to it but I had to sip that water everytime after. I ordered a chop shop burger and shared truffle garlic fries. According to my friends, the burger size has improved so they were surprised and will be returning in the future. The first time they came, they said the burger were about 3 inches in diameter and they were not going to return due to portion size and cost of $9-12 a burger. The chop shop burger was good. Thick patty with tomato confit, house steak sauce and dijon. Thinking back i don't think mine came with parmesan crisp, but nonetheless it was good. At times, I would taste the horseradish and it was slightly overwhleming. More sips of water! Definitely want to come back and try their shakes.

So im giving Oshi a 3 based on my expectations. The burger was good and the fries were awesome but for $12 i expected the burger to make me want to come back. I agree with a reviewer before that said he expected with the wagyu beef to be able to tell a difference from any other burger but i really didnt. Nothing that ill crave again. Like i said fries were awesome and service was great but next time i get a craving for a burger (which isnt often) im sure i wont be going back to Oshi.

I really wish that I could give this place a better rating. I wanted it to be so good, because I love burgers. First, the good stuff: the onion rings are great & my husband's shake was amazing (sake colada). The bad stuff: my first two drink orders were strikes when the "machine" needed to make the tea was not working and then when the beer I ordered was out, the tator tots were so terrible we didn't eat them, the burgers are way too small for the buns, the weird little wooden "plates" they give you to eat on make it impossible to eat a greasy, messy burger without wearing half of it, and our server never came back to check on things. I misread the menu and didn't realize that the burger I ordered came with American cheese, which I am actually allergic to. I had to scrape the cheese off in order to eat the burger, and I can't imagine that the server couldn't see that from where he stood in the service area chatting to co-workers. It pissed me off to pay so much for food that I could barely eat and that I never got a chance to ask someone to make the experience better. Very disappointing. If they want to call themselves a burger bar, they're going to need to improve their burgers. Seriously. And the service needs a serious shot in the ass.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was great and owners were very nice. I ordered a 50 50 burger and my wife ordered an elaborate chicken dog of some kind. We also ordered a side of fries with kimchi and cheese . Basically we were quite disappointed for the money we spent. That cheese was the worst part - it was like goo... not even has good as the worst nacho cheese. If they left out the cheese, that side would have been much better. My burger was dry and all the condiments in the world will not mask something like that . Everything told, the meal was overpriced. One reviewer said some people who rated this place low may have come at an off time. Well that is possible... If so, it was our bad luck.

More of a evening spot. Great OSHI burger but the house stuffed cheese tots are not really worth 8 dollars.

Is this some sort of joke? A few of us stopped in after the Grizzlies game on Monday. Upon entering, we stood next to several other confused customers who were unsure about what to do. There was no host to be found. The couple beside us gave up and left. The only available table in the restaurant had not been bussed and was covered with food, although it appeared to be uneaten, which was weird. We managed to get the attention of the bartender who motioned for us to sit at the dirty table. We took our seat, assuming the table would be quickly cleaned up. Ten minutes later, the mess remained and not a word had been spoken to us by any employee. No joke. Eventually, a couple of guys came over to clean the table, but still did not speak to us. In fact, they were downright rude as my wife said thank you twice as they cleaned up the mess, yet they didn't respond with a "you're welcome" or a "go screw yourself"... Nothing. Great attitude guys. So, we decided to ignore the rough start and figured they'd apologize for the wait and take our order soon.... Wrong. We sat at the empty table for at least another 5-10 minutes while several waiters walked by, still completely ignoring us. Finally, a guy walked up and said "I'll get you some waters." Cool, dude. We've been waiting nearly twenty five minutes at an empty table with no menus, but by all means, get us some water....... After this kid went missing for a few minutes we decided it wasn't going to work out and we left. Of course no one tried to stop us or act concerned in any way. Maybe the food is good here? We will never know. The absolutely horrible service we received turned us off entirely. I haven't experienced such lackluster, rude, disappointing service in a really long time. This place better get its act together or it won't be around much longer. Oh, also I just learned this place is owned by the same folks who own Local. Now this all makes total sense. Local is another wonderful addition to the Memphis food scene with its incredibly overpriced food and indifferent, mean wait staff. We swore off Local after they introduced us to their stuck up, stupid dress code by telling my wife she wasn't allowed to wear her Grizzlies hat backwards in the restaurant. Seriously? Get a life.

The Oshi burger is really different and delicious...especially when dipped in their house-made ketchup. I will definitely be back!

Cool trendy vibe could not make up or a subpar shake. It was basically milk and whipped cream. Disappointed...

This place was delicious. We had high hopes for it since we love local so much and it definitely didn't disappoint. We ordered the tora toro and the chop house burger(? I think that's what it was called) they were both amazing. We started with the edamame and the sauce on the edamame is spicy hot but they were very very good and we will definitely get them again. Also had the beer cheese fries and HOLY CRAP YUM. We ended with a milkshake and those were great too. Eager for them to get their liquor license so we can try the milkshakes with the alcohol in them:) Overall I was really impressed! Only thing I would say is it's a little loud when a lot of people are in there. And service was just a little on the slower side BUT I'm not holding that against them considering they just opened recently. Everyone needs to go. Asap.

This place is pretty good! We went on a Tuesday so the ambiance wasn't great and we were the first ones there, but the plus side was we were seated immediately and the server was really attentive! We started with the tater tots and WOW seriously these things are amazing. GET THE TATER TOTS. Dipped in the house made ketchup was just out of this world good. As for burgers, my husband ordered the Oshi Burger and I ordered the veggie burger. Both get 3/5 stars. They were by no means bad, but I've had a LOT of veggie burgers, and my favorites are still at Bellie Acres and Local. I tried a bite of my husband's Oshi Burger and it was just a little too salty from the soy glaze I assume. Interesting taste, but not phenomenal. You should definitely check this place out, though, because there are a lot of things on the menu that sounded good. We will be back to get the tater tots again and try other things on the menu.
