Food was extremely bland and uninspired... even the salsa needed to have some hot sauce added to it, just to let you know you were eating salsa. The decor is... well it's cluttered, and I will leave it at that. The music was way too loud, but other than that the place was surprisingly still open for business. I was the only customer on a Monday evening at 7pm... not really a good sign.

Not the best colombian food but I would recommend to try bandeja paisa. However I was disappointed with chuleta empanada

Nightmare @ Mi Tierra restaurant! They don't even deserve a 1 star. Should of known something was wrong because from 6 pm-7pm we were the only people in there, then when we left after 8PM there were only 2 additional tables that came in. Were to start, being the only people there you'd think service would be good, but we had to literally wave the manager down, cause we couldn't get the server's attention. We had to send food back because the beef tasted staled/old. The chips were cold with a taste of Lard. Did I mention we got there at 6, were done eating what we didn't send back by 6:30. Why did we finally get to walk out a lil past 8 PM you ask? The server put the entire bill onto one credit card even though we were given two separate receipts and provided them with 2 separate cards and she didn't know how to process refund and reprocess separate bills. Needless, to say the owner was absolutely Clueless how to fix the problem as well, she asked us to wait 10 minutes because the manager had left and she was trying to contact him on the phone to get him to come fix the issue. The manager finally returned to the restaurant and started processing the bills again, when I inquired about a copy of the initial bill showing the refund he said, " Oh, the owner said, you needed to leave so I was going to process the bill with credit card company after you left so we didn't have to wait around any longer." Luckily, my friend said, "No, process our refund 1st while were here." Ok, who processes refunds after the party leaves w/out giving proof refund was provided (Really). Once, refund was processed, my husband ask if they were going to offer any type of discount for all the issues and all the time their mistake being corrected took and the Owner instantly said, "NO". I advised her she had horrible customer service skills, that most places would at least give a 10% discount for all the issues and especially because it took them so long to correct their error. Needless, to say but we will never return to that dump ever again! A big fat F is how I rate the food, the service and the owner!!! For people with children, unless if you want them sitting at a table and be forced to look at pictures of drunken people, grown adults in diapers, bikini's etc resin onto the tables throughout the facility you do not want your kids at the tables. Any, well respected family would not be caught with kids in there. Looking at pictures and being there for 2 hours doing dinner time and it being a ghost town, it's obvious to say by their own pictures that the bulk of their customers come to drink. Gotta, say who can get Tequila wrong? It comes right out the bottle.

I have been to Mi Tierra a few times and had a good time. So far I have only been here on Friday or Saturday nights to dance and have a couple of drinks. The ambience is really chill. They play a lot of Bachata, Reggaeton, and some Norteno music. The dance floor is small and it can get crowded at times, but only on busy nights. Food wise, I have only tried their Picada Completa and it is delicious. It looks like a huge appetizer plate filled with plantains, empanadas, arepas with cheese, cassava, pork rinds, salsa, pork tenderloin, tomatoes, and short ribs. This plate is good to share with 2 to 3 people. The staff is friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and the prices aren't bad either.

Meh shmeh. Chips were cold and not fresh. Salsa pretty standard. Flautas weren't very satisfying. However, the horchata was good! I had been wanting to try this place for some time. After canceling a date because the guy turned out to be a total creepy perv, I was all dressed up and hungry, so I decided to go here. They're a Columbian restaurant but have a menu of select Mexican items. I was kind of sad they didn't have any taco combos or anything...that's usually my go-to thing. I ordered chicken flautas and the description sounded good: stuffed tortillas, deep fried, and served with lettuce, sour cream, and tomato. It was basically served with lettuce if you look at the photo. Luckily I had salsa to add to it. It didn't set well with my tummy but I don't eat a lot of fried food so that may be why. When I first got there, I waited quite a while for anyone to see me. But the waitress was really friendly. I was the only person there and this place could easily seat 75+ people. The bar is cute and I like the decor, but maybe their biggest issue is location? If I didn't see it on yelp, I never would have seen it behind the Taco Bell and Sharks giant illuminated signs.

I stopped in here on my way home I had been wanting to try it for sometime. The service was very friendly, it was very clean and the food was delicious. Very fresh and not overcooked. I paid under $10 for my meal and drink. I will definitely come back and recommend this place.

Authentic Colombian fare here. This is best South American / Mexican food I've ever eaten in the south. I was surprised to find this place in Tennessee. They have both a Columbian and a Mexican menu. I recommend ordering one of the "Authentic Plates" from the Columbian menu. My dish had rice and red beans, a fried egg, pork rinds (no, not the kind you buy in a bag at a gas station... These "pork rinds" are pork prepared Columbian style), a thin bit of tasty Columbian style steak, a corn arepa type thing, platanos... I felt like I was a king eating this meal. Delicious. The place was decked out with Halloween garb... Even a creepy looking mechanical woman rocking back and forth to greet you... They had a DJ playing reggaeton jams and a hi-fi sound system with subwoofers, etc.! My only complaint was that the high end frequencies on the PA were a bit bright, trebly and hurt our ears. The food and ambience more than made up for it though. This place is in the strip mall across from the Sonic... Wouldn't have found it without yelp... But thanks to god that we found it for a strange and amazing dining experience!

This is a little known and very underrated Mexican restaurant near Bartlett that I tried on a whim the other day. Mostly because the exterior caught my eye. It's bright yellow with a little porch out front and nice, colorful signage. Besides, if you read my reviews, you know how much I love Mexican Food. I am always ready to try a new place. And Mi Tierra did not disappoint. The food was great!!! Very authentic and very fresh - two important keys for good Mexican food. I had chips and salsa and chicken enchiladas with rice. Everything was delicious and the prices were great - really inexpensive. My entire meal, with drink, was less than than $9. My server was friendly and courteous and the food was brought out very quickly. Loved this place! Oh...and the inside was just as bright and cheerful as the outside.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
