Very good food. Asked for sweet tea with lemon. Not sweet at all. Only one wait staff so checking out was long. Would visit again.

We had my birthday dinner here this past Saturday and everyone had a great time. There were about 15 of us and almost everyone's order came out perfect. Someone's rice came out as fried but they let them keep the fries and still brought out rice. The plantains on their Cuban menu were amazing. And my husband said their Cuban sandwich was amazing and being from Miami he is extremely picky about his Cuban sandwiches. The shrimp quesadilla was absolutely perfect as usual.

Ate their Cuban food again. I actually wanted something that wasn't on their specials anymore. I explained what I wanted to the waiter and he said no problem, we can still make it. Yay! The food was delicious per usual and the wait staff was accommodating.

Hope and pray you don't get the server named Lizzy. I drank my 12-ounce beer before my food arrived, was never offered a refill. In fact, she didn't even look at me the rest of the meal. That's probably because she sat in the corner of the restaurant playing on her pink Motorola Razr for most of the time I was in the restaurant. Maybe it was an iPhone. It was difficult to see from my chair. But I bet it was a Razr. She looked like a Razr kinda girl. The food was fine. Reasonable price, came extremely quickly. No complaints there.

Food is good, not great. Service is friendly but slow. We had to ask for more water and instead of bringing a pitcher we got 4 new glasses of water. There is actually an item on the child's menu that takes over 20 minutes to prepare. We needed one more flour tortilla but were told they only come in packs of 3. The pizza (20 minute child menu item) finally comes out with our tickets, which were incorrect. Very poor dining experience.

The food is lackluster and forgettable. Our server was absentee to say the least. There are too many tasty places within a 5 minute drive to eat here. One of my dining companions enjoyed her alcoholic drink. But between the three of us, NONE of finished our entrees. SKIP this place.

Los Compadres is a Mexican and a Cuban restaurant in Memphis. I haven't been in a while. It's good, though. They give you chips and salsa like many Mexican restaurants. Some coworkers and I had a long lunch break. They chose the restaurant. I decided to try something that I hadn't had. I don't think I have ever had cuban food. Since it was lunch time, I chose the cuban sandwich. I got the smaller version. It came with a side of fries. It was ham, pork roast, swiss cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles, all on Cuban bread. It was good. It was only $5. Skip Subway and try it!

I used to love this place but the last two times I've been here the service was horrible and they were not even busy. I usually get the carne asada tacos and they were mediocre. Sorry but I will not be back again.

I have a love hate relationship with this place. I love the size of the restaurant and how open it is. There is a lot of space inside, plus they have a pretty decent patio for when the weather is right. I love their Texas (top shelf) margaritas. They are stout, but not so stout that all you taste is tequila. They have decent food...it's not too spicy, though...and I like my Mexican food to make my nose run. I don't like that the staff kind of disappear after you've been there a while. Seems like every single time I've gone, I've been there for a couple of hours, and after 45 minutes, the waiter or waitress disappear to watch tv and don't come back unless someone new gets seated near you. This is another Memphis Mexican restaurant that is staffed by more non-hispanic people than those that are...and I can't tell you why, but that always makes me question the authenticity of the food. Overall, though, Los is pretty good. If you want a tame Mexican meal and fabulous pitchers of top shelf margarita goodness, this is a healthy choice.

Thus is my maiden review! The reviews point to eating Cuban and they must be right as the Tex Mex is terrible. Enchilada sauce is out of a can. Chips, beans and rice are stale. Being able to sit outside is nice but their Tex-Mex takes a backseat to Taco Bell. I don't give stars for alcohol so this is a 2 with .5 for sitting outside. We didn't order anything off the Cuban and were told by some people sitting next to us that the Cuban food is excellent. There dishes looked and smelled good. If I go back and try the Cuban food I'll write another review but as far as the Mexican, stay away.

Memphis has its share of Mexican restaurants. Los compadres offers the normal Mexican fare; service is attentive; and the beer is icy cold. There are some big screen TVs for sports lovers, so there is kind of a sports bar feel if you are there during a popular sports event. What gets Los Compadres my 4 rating is the Cuban menu. Cuban food is a little hard to find in Memhis, and it's one of my personal favorites. So if you are in the mood for Mexican and stop by Los Compadres, and try some Cuban for a change. I think you will be hooked.

Los Compadres is suffering from multiple personality disorder. It seems as Dr. Jekyll is the usual chef, and takes get pride and patience in his craft. Every so often, however, the culinary equivalent of Mr. Hyde escapes and terrorizes their customers' palates. I've been twice, and each time things that should be relatively simple for a Mexican restaurant like guacamole, sour cream, queso, and chips have been hit or miss. (The salsa is not the cilantro-infused disaster most Mexican places put out, though, so I like it). Further evidence of the weird dichotomy is the fact that they have two menus: one featuring Cuban food, and one featuring Mexican food. I am a sucker for Mexican food. When done right, it is filling, fresh and freaking delicious. When done poorly, its Los Compadres. The Mexican food is, confusingly, not the star of the show here. But the Cuban food?! If this is what Fidel Castro's chefs are putting out, consider me a socialist. All of the Cuban dishes are served with black beans and plantains, and are light years ahead of the Mexican food in terms of taste. The drawback is that the Cuban menu is like an afterthought compared to MASSIVE tome that is the Mexican menu. The Cuban menu also has some weird menu items like Cuban Spaghetti, and Cuban Pizza, although I'm not sure why. I made the mistake of ordering off page 167of the Mexican menu, and immediately regretted the shrimp in cream sauce after tasting my mom's churrasco. But I had a plan. I ordered beers for us and, just like i was hoping, Mom was drunk after two sips. I used her alcohol-induced stupor to secretly sneak most of her food onto my plate. The Mexican food is not a very impressive rendition, but the Cuban food will make you drug your mother (and feel no shame). The restaurant is always extremely clean when i go, and there is a pretty cool waterfall on one side of the dining room. Additionally, there is a pretty expansive patio outside. ( I don't understand why, however, considering that the restaurant is located on Poplar Ave. Unless you like soot as a side item, sit inside.) Sitting inside, however also, poses problems for me as most of the tables are set up cafteria-style and abut one another. Stick to the margaritas and the Cuban menu, and avoid the rest.

The place was crowded valentines day and a great mixture of crowd. It had a fountain inside for a center piece and the paint on the wall is bright green with a big ole sunglasses hanging. Cuban cuisine was its specialty along with Mexican food. I ordered the Cuban steak. It came with black beans, rice, salad, beef was marinated along with fried red onions and fresh avocado. My wife had the diablo shrimp and it was spicy. Both item were pretty good but the beef empanadas were unbelievable. The breading were crusty and meat were very moist and tasted awesome. It was so good, I ordered five more "to go". The service was good and easy on the wallet. I will definitely come back if I am in the area just for the empanadas alone.

When you want a good strong Margarita please come here! Also I love the Combination Fajita Fundido with extra Chorizo! It's so full of flavor. Please ask for Fabrisio to be your waiter. He does an excellent job. ¡Muy bien!

Very good and reasonable prices. Great fast service, took my dog on the patio. The salsa was weird, but had plenty of food coming so didn't worry about it. Good for vegetarians.

Neither great, not bad. It is just like any other Mexican restaurant in Memphis. Decent menu, easy to wallet and same taste like other places.

If I were rating this restaurant on the food alone it would be 4 stars. However, I would only suggest going to this restaurant with people who you don't want to interact with. It is so loud in the restaurant that you cannot carry on a conversation. Your voice will be strained if you try. So if your in-laws are in town and you want good food but want a total barrier to communication, take them here.

My husband and I stopped in Saturday for a late afternoon lunch on the patio. I think one of the only good things going for them is the patio. We ordered soft chicken tacos and received hard beef tacos. I asked for no mole sauce and my plate was covered in it. We also had to remind our waiter for a poblano we ordered. The food was just ok with not much taste. The service and food at the former location was much better.

We eat here once a week because the food is great! The reason I'm not giving five stars is that sometimes they need more wait staff--2-3 waitresses to cover large place. A packed restaurant is usually the sign of good food and this place fills up every night. Their tacos, chicken, beef, shrimp, fish, steak, pork are delectable and the price is right. I prefer a la carte, so it's 3 beef or chicken tacos for $5.25 and their large so I usually take home next- day's lunch.Husband prefers a Cuban combo plate (about $10.50). They have a Mexican menu and a separate Cuban menu. Son loves the shrimp fajitas. My husband and I can eat, have tea and leave 20% tip for about $24.

It was the reviews of the Cuban menu that brought us here. Regulars of Las Delicias, we decided to "branch out"... even though the though of "branching out" and "Mexican Restaurants" is oxymoronic, stick with me. The Cuban menu is excellent, and I'm not sure of any other locations in Memphis that offers these dishes. I went with the puerca asada... which was basically a huge plate of pork, and a side plate of black beans, rice, and delicious fried plantains. It was tasty, but a bit plain. J went with the steak something... I forget... I should remember, because it was excellent. Either way, it's the flank steak on the cuban menu. It was done perfectly. (Note: steak in Latin countries is not steak in an American Steakhouse... it's basically always medium+ and has a sauce on it and next to it along with things like onions and peppers too). Buen provecho, amigos.

When the chef is on his game, which is quite often the case, but not always, you won't eat a better chile pablano or chile relleno. The beef tacos are also wonderful when he's on his game. The shrimp soup is out of this world. Loaded with big, plump, shrimp; fresh veggies; rice and a great broth. Dice up the slice of avocado that comes with it and drop it in the bowl, then squeeze the lime juice into the bowl. You won't be hungry when you're finished and it's wonderful. Staff is friendly too. If it wasn't 't for the few times the chef wasn't on his game, I would rate it a 5 star. But, believe me, he's got it together the vast majority of the time.

Really love the Churrasco! That's Cuban steak. Had it again last nite and it was wonderful. I posted two pictures, as it comes on two plates. It comes well done, so don't bother to order it rare. I wasn't happy with the rice. Sticky. No flavor. Black beans aren't special. The fried plantains are wonderful. I like the seasoning on the steak. I've never had Cuban food before coming here, so I can't make comparisons. My husband has eaten Cuban in Miami and likes the Churrasco here as well.

Los Compadres is quickly becoming my go-to Mexican restaurant in town. For one, it's within walking distance of my home. Two, it has a patio. Three, it has yummy margaritas. And oh yeah, the food is really good too. I had the steak taco salad yesterday and ate every bite, even the crunchy bowl. I usually order the 3 taco dish for my girls and split it between them with a side of rice. The perfect size and cheaper than children's meals. My hubby picks up a huge bowl of their homemade chicken soup at least once a week. For a whopping $5, you can make two meals out of it. The atmosphere is really fun, and the servers are quick and friendly. On nice days, we like to sit outside on the spacious patio. The prices are pretty normal, maybe a bit less than other similar Mexican places. Great experience overall.

Kinda your average TN non-chain Mexican restaurant. Nothing amazing to rave about. Chips are your standard restaurant chips. Fajitas are great. What IS awesome here are there margaritas. They are extremely tasty and are a great price. You can get a jumbo (32 oz) premium (what they call "Texas") margarita for 7.50. I'd recommend coming here for the drinks and free chips haha. I'd give a 3.25 if I could just because the margaritas are that good! Try - The margaritas. Fajitas are good too, but again, nothing amazing to rave about.

Been a loyal customer here since they had their original location down Poplar. The service is quick and they have a pretty good lunch special. Also, the happy hour from open to close featuring $1.99 margaritas is pretty swanky. This place has a great patio and is a perfect place for a quick lunch. They don't have wifi, but the FedEx Kinkos right next door does.

  • Karen E.

The one time I went was after work when I had a package to mail from the FedEx store next door. The noise level was like 500 decibels -- as loud as a rowdy rock concert. It was happy hour, so I should've known better, but I was tired and hungry, and it was convenient. I was okay with the food (and the portions were large), and the service was attentive and friendly. I just recommend that if you want to have a conversation with a fellow diner, go someplace else. :(

For many years El Porton was my family's spot for Sunday evening dinners. Not long after their massive renovation and subsequent change of atmosphere my family sought out a new spot. That spot became Los Compadres, which used to be located at Poplar and Collins, and which is now located at Poplar and Holmes. The one advantage that El Porton has over Los Compadres is deck size. The newer Holmes location does not have as big as a deck, but it does have a decently sized patio out front. One other slight disadvantage of the new location is that it has somewhat of a cafeteria set-up inside and it can get a little loud to hear someone at your table that is not right next to you. One advantage of the new location, however, is that it is right next to a Fed-Ex Kinko's, who offers a free wi-fi connection, which you can connect to from the Los Compadres building if you're carrying a mobile wi-fi device. Los Compadres features great priced Mexican food dinners, with Dinner items ranging in the $5.50-$12 range. They have a cheaper kids menu which features fries and chicken nuggets for any finicky young eaters. This place offers pretty standard Mexican restaurant fare, but does have some bright spots. I myself particularly enjoy the Mole Rojo, a chicken dish made with a red pepper mole sauce. I also enjoy the scrambled eggs and chorizo dinner item. They likewise offer a number of different Nachos dishes and other appetizers. My girlfriend and I enjoy the Tampico dip, a bean dip mixed with queso and pico de gallo. However, Los Compadres has two other strengths that puts it ahead of other similar Mexican restaurants in town - the margaritas and the Cuban menu. I will say that I only ever order the frozen margaritas, so I cannot vouch for the quality of the rocks variety, but I think they serve some of the best margaritas in town. If you're just in for an afternoon on the deck, this is a great place to go. The Cuban menu, which has been around for about a year as of this posting, is fantastic, authentic Cuban food. They have entree items ranging from $10.95-$11.95, all of which I've tried and all of which are delicious. The entrees come with white rice, black beans, and maduros, which are fried sweet plaintains. Most of the entrees are either garlic roasted meat or grilled stack, served in a variety of traditional Cuban styles, with mojo marinades and Criolla salsas. Basically a lot of garlic and citrus, which I love. Be warned, the Cuban entrees are worth the price - they come with a LOT of food in addition to being delicious. Fortunately, they also have a number of fantastic Cuban appetizers ranging in price from the $0.75X1 Croquetas to the $7.99 Tostones de pollo. The tostones are good but not heavily seasoned. They also have a fantastic Cuban sandwich (ham, roast pork, swizz, pickles, and lettuce I think) served with fries that you can order 6" or 12". Other appetizers include the decadent Papas rellenas (fried beef stuffed mash potato balls). What I can say for Los Compadres, in sum, is that it has great frozen margaritas (good all year long, but especially in the HOT and HUMID Memphis summers) and a superb Cuban menu that puts it above and beyond its competition.

Do yourself a favor and just order off of their Cuban menu. The tex-mex they serve is good but the Cuban fare is off the charts. They also provide quick and friendly service. The waiters make you feel at home and didn't look down upon my poor pronunciation of some of the items on the menu.

One of our Memphis staples. Would drive from Mud Island apt to take dog to Overton Park and have excuse to go here. Great patio but would be better if non smoking. Strong tasty margs. Always ordered soft tacos fish chicken chorizo. Fast friendly staff. Place is popular esp on w/e and evenings in nice weather.

The shrimp fajita was excellent. I wish I would have read the reviews BEFORE I went because I wanted to try the Cuban menu but opted not to. However, the margarita I had was sub-par. Hopefully it was just an off night b/c I will be back to try it again.

this place is awesome! it's pretty popular, so i dont know why no one has reviewed it. i'm sure it's nothing authentic, but i love it. the host working there is incredibly funny! he greets everyone in spanish, as if we all speak it haha. very attentive. the food is pretty good, i've had better.. prices are good, with tips and all, it was 25$ for 2 of us.

This is a popular hang out. Decent mexican food cheap. Good place to watch soccer games - which are on constantly. The margharitas are pretty strong - no skimping. Lunch is easy to get in, but weekend nights can be packed. I eat there almost weekly.

We ordered two large Cuban sandwiches. They only had enough bread for one small sandwich. I let my wife get the sandwich and I ordered the charrasco. Mine was 'ok', but the sandwich had spoiled pork on it. The smell made it inedible. They replaced it with a chicken empanada at no charge, which was 'ok'. While the staff was very apologetic, polite, and accommodating, I wouldn't really recommend the food. The one thing there that was really good was their homemade salsa. It is better than most you get around town.

One of the greatest Mexican Resturaunts in the city. There food has always been the best. They have some of the greatest cheese dip in the county along with their rice and beans. Their service has always been great, even though it can be sometimes kind of loud. The pricing is reasonable and the cleanliness of the place is always been great.

I just got out of the movie Chef so I was in the mood for Cuban food. I had the Cuban sandwich. The ingredients were very good but the bread made the sandwich great. But not 5 star great. It is served with a large portion of fries, twice as thick as McDonalds and almost as good. It cost 9 bucks for the 12 incher so I ordered it so I can have 1/2 for lunch tomorrow. My girlfriend had the pork asada. She said the meat was stringy and dry. She said you couldn't mess up pork any worse. Luckily she saved it by ordering chimi churri to smother it . My girlfriend said she would never go here again but I would. My girlfriend is worried that I make her sound like a bitch. Drink prices are good. You can get a pitcher of Dos Equis for eight bucks and a carafe of wine for 15. Since this is also a Mexican restaurant you get complimentary chips. The restaurant was really crowded at 7 o'clock on a Saturday night and loud. The noise could have got on my nerves if I was in a bad mood. (Maybe they should look into some sound absorbing tiles on the ceiling or something) The bill including the tip was 45 bucks for 2 meals and a 1/2 a sandwich I can eat tomorrow a pitcher of beer and a carafe of wine.

This place was much better than I expected. The chips are good (not great), salsa is good, guac is good (although also not great). The veggie fajita was very reasonably priced. It was good (a little spicy). Though I did not try a margarita, the prices aren't bad (4.50 for a small and 18 for a pitcher). It's close to school, so I will be back and will update when I get to drinkin'. The waitresses were extremely friendly and the inside is very cute.

This place is just not for me...have given it more than one try since it is right by our house...not one good meal here.Sadly the only thing that is consistent is bad food and service. One of the worst places for service...the wait staff is in no hurry to get you drinks or food. The food they do bring will be super hot on the outside and ice cold in the middle. I get my friends like this place for the patio..but there are a lot better patios in Memphis and I just will not be stopping in again.

This is not at all what I expected for Cuban food. Where is the Ropas Viejas??? This is more like straight Mexican to me.. Two thumbs down. I ordered a steak with rice and black beans. I got a spoonful of rice and three spoonfuls of black beans.. too bad I didn't like the steak..literally untouched..see pic Uhm service??? Almost non-existent. 16.00 for????? Definitely a NO RETURN

Not impressed. Low on atmosphere - I liked the water wall Joelle mentioned, but it was a loud, open space with several tv's and cafeteria-style tables. Food: started with chicken wings, which were just ok. Also tried the cuban sampler appetizer, but didn't really find a lot of flavor in the fried mashed potato balls, and the ham croquettes were super salty. I ordered the carnitas. Probably my fave Mexican dish, they are supposed to be dry-ish on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. These "carnitas" were wet from being cooked in a sauce (not fried) and dry and stringy within. I had substituted fries (meh) for the beans and rice, and the waiter said that because I did that the meal no longer came with tortillas, (What? How does that make sense?) so I had to order some so I had something to roll the carnitas into. My date had the carne asada tacos, which he said were "ok, but not great." Nothing stood out here; won't be back.

I have never been a Mexican food girl. I am not a huge fan of tequila and I get intimidated ordering off their menu. I didn't grow up going to Mexican restaurants so I always feel like the waiters (and my company) are laughing at me because I don't know 1. what anything is 2. how to pronounce anything and 3. its just not my style. But as soon as I walked into this restaurant, it was nothing like I expected. It is right by my house so that was an immediate plus, but then they had a rain wall, which is just awesome. I spent the whole night staring at the water running down completely mesmerized. As soon as I sat down, a very nice (and cute) waiter named Fabricio (I'm sure I misspelled that) came by. I explained that I don't like tequila but I knew they were known for their margaritas. So he gave me a sample of their Texas margarita to taste. Now, I don't usually do tequila but this Texas margarita is awesome! And I thought it was very sweet that he gave me a sample before I ordered. My company finally arrived and we ordered a pitcher. Oh my word, those margaritas are potent! I hadn't even finished half a glass before a warm rush ran over my body and I was feeling pretty darn good. But somehow we managed to finish the entire thing. As far as the food goes, I couldn't find anything I wanted as is so I asked for steak fajitas with cheese and sour cream. Dairy products tend to make everything better so I suppose my meal was pretty good. Although my dining partner did observe that I should have just asked for a tub of sour cream to eat...he's probably right. But that's just a reflection of me, not the food. If I ever go back to a Mexican restaurant, this will definitely be it because the drinks, atmosphere, and service are awesome!

A small local mexican food restraunt with full bar, this place has a very authentic quality to it for those who know the real thing. It is WAAAY better than El Porton, a few blocks away. It is located on the corner of Poplar Ave at Collins on the southwest corner. The place is super clean, has a nice gated patio (so the kiddies can't escape) with umbrellas on all the tables. The bar (well stocked) is seperate from the dining room that although small, is well lit, decorated and ventilated. My daughter loved the decor of hanging tocans and parrots, and it has a huge plasma which was broadcasting Univision (very cool for those who follow international soccer). The booths were spacious and comfortable, no tears or stains. The bathrooms were clean, and well stocked. The down side would be that they were not easily accessible for the disabled (have to open two doors- pulled towards you) and there were no changing stations in either the mens nor womens restroom. There was not enough counter space available to change a baby, although they had the wall space to add a changer. The house salsa provided with the chips was perfect. Usually I have to ask for a spicier/ hotter version (the non-gringo stuff they hide in the back for the staff) however thiers was chunky and flavorful, not too hot for my 3 yr old, yet not too mild to warrent the need to give it some kick. Their lunch menu was very reasonable compared to other local restaurants and offered a kiddie menu with 6 selections, although the adult portions were easily large enough to share with a small child /toddler. I ordered the nacho supreme (6.50) which came with beef and sauteed chicken. My husband ordered the chicken chimichanga plate (4.75 lunch/ 5.75 dinner) . My husband thought it was one of the best chimis he has had. The nachos were large, easily shared between 2-3 people with very generous portions of chicken and beef. We also ordered the Tampico dip (beans, cheese and pico de gallo - 3.50) good size and tastee! The waitress we had was OK, we got the only gringo / non-latin in the place. She was nice and although she initially brought us the wrong dip, she got it corrected quickly and offered to let us have the incorrect one as well. Overall the place was great with a great atmosphere. I would give it 5 stars if it was more kiddie friendly with changing tables, coloring menus etc.

There are a LOT of Mexican restaurants in Memphis. I love Mexican food but have yet to try them all. My friend and I almost went to another place down the street until we realized it was no longer in business and ventured here. I'm very glad we did. The service was great from the start. Our waitresses were very smiley, cheerful, and courteous. The food is affordable and it tastes pretty darn good too. The taco salad was awesome and I ate every bite even though I proclaimed that I was full halfway through. I also loved the decor on the inside--not gaudy and outdated like you see in some places, but rather crisp, modern style with a cool transparent waterfall wall. I will be back. I'm excited to try their margaritas. A lot of restaurants have good food, but the way I'm treated by staff seals the deal. The service here is especially what will keep me coming back.

Being a member of the "Kickin' ain't Easy" kickball team, you will see me here every Wednesday night after the game! Somehow, someway if we wear our jerseys on Wednesdays, we get free tequila shots. Whew. They offer margaronas or coronaritas (corona in a margarita) which are my absolute favorite "Mexican drink." All their margaritas are great! Their food is just like any other Mexican restaurant. I can't say there is anything about their food that makes them stand out. I usually order fajita tacos or just a taco salad. I have not become brave enough to try the cuban menu... The staff is always attentive. They put up with 15-20 of our teammates every Wednesday and seem to enjoy it! I applaud them for that! It is always clean. They also have an amazing patio!

Food is not bad but service is really not that good. Nothing personal it's just not good service. This has happened to me on multiple occasions. It is really disappointing because the place is pretty neat. I probably won't be back for a while!

My wife and I have been to Los Compadres twice. We had not had Cuban food before - but we've seen a few dishes on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" and desired to try them out. We were not disappointed. The first visit we had the Churrasco (steak) - it was terrific and delicious - as were the sides. The second visit we had the Ropa Vieja. The meat was cooked just right and was full of flavor and quite tasty. We will be going back. In fact, we are looking forward to trying the Mexican food next!

The food is one of the best Mexican as well Cuban in town... The service is sketchy.. All servers seem to enjoy each other's company so much, they often do not come back after your food is served... Last two visits we had to go to register to ask for check... No apologies , no more tea ...was not in a hurry either time...God forbid if I was on my lunch hour.... Three trips before arrived 10 minutes till 11 was told to have a seat anywhere... While staff finished their lunch... @ 11:15 menu was brought no water

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
