Awesome!awesome! The best way we can describe it. The food our waiter"Matt"commended fits perfectly with our diet. (*macro*). Gyro Is way to go! DELICIOUSSS... He was also very knowledgeable and friendly which is always a plus when you're trying a new restaurant. He was patient with us too (Trust me, we take our time because we calculate what we eat) I have to say The venues layout was well planned too. The ambiance was relaxing!!!! The next time we come back. We will try the burgers promise! Lol. I hope the owner reads this - i would like to request to add calorie count on your website!!!! :)

First time at this location and I may or may not go back. Like another person said, it doesn't have the same vibe as downtown, and the seating is not the best. The tables and chairs felt small and not exactly comfortable. Food was good though. I had the mushroom swiss burger and it tasted as expected. Fries were on point. The brownie skillet...ohmuhgosh

Great desserts. Had the cookie and bread pudding - ordered to go. See pics. The cookie was HUGE - soft and warm. Enough for four people to eat from. Bread pudding was good - could have used some more spice and even nuts. And even better if served with ice cream. Only 2 stars because I waited for over 35 minutes for two desserts. When I reminded the bar tender about my order she said "we make them to order that's why it takes so long"....SO if I were dining in and wanted dessert it would be another 35 minutes...I.. don't ..think...so. I have worked in the biz and know you can't survive with a slow table turn over like that. And I HOPE ALL FOOD is made to order! A cookie takes 10 to 12 minutes to bake - it's not like they were back there rolling out the dough or slicing the bread for the bread pudding. Waiting over 30 minutes for two desserts is not something I will ever do here again, especially when the staff think this is completely reasonable. No thanks - I will bake a cookie at home.

I loved how it looks on the inside, I use to work at the Southern Hands before it became Kooky's. The appearance was nice and so were the staff. We sat in the bar area at a cocktail table. The bartender was great and read his customers well. The burgers were amaaaaaazing! Try the Canadian burger or make your own! It was a satisfying lunch.

I love the new Kooky Canuck! Shawn is the most thoughtful restaurant owner out there. He is fun and friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. The burgers are the best I've ever- way better than Huey's. The RIBEYES are huge and the prime rib is the best. The skillet cookie is one of the best deserts in Memphis. I've been coming to Kooky Canuck since it was the Bigfoot lodge, and now that they are in cordova, it's even easier to enjoy it being so much closer. Keep it up guys!! I love the affordable lunch menu too!!

Finally was able to visit this place after bookmarking it some 5 months ago. The place looks pretty cool on the inside but I came for the food not for the looks. I got the Memphis Best burger and my girl got the Mushroom Swiss burger. Both burgers came with fries and by God they give you fries, lots of fries. My burger was pretty good, not the best I've had but not the worst either. Thing was too big to pick up without everything falling off. My girl said her burger was good though. It's a toss up if I come back but if I do, it'll be for dessert because those desserts they had looked so damn good.

Good service. The food is just as good as original. It is in Cordova which is nice for us Germantown folk. The atmosphere is great. I love the wood everywhere. I recommend checking this place out. Plus they have a patio.

Great food, with large servings, Very friendly service, and big ass beers and drinks. What more could you want? The burgers are awesome and the poutine is sooo good. Had the prime rib, 16oz, serving tonight. It was very good but a bit salty. My sides were steamed veggies and green beans. The steamed veggies are steamed veggies... Not much to say except they were nice and crisp. The green beans were very good, fresh and crunchy. My wife had the chopped chef salad and she said it was very good. The kids had the chicken fingers kids meal and the pizza kids meal. The kids meals are huge!! Both came with a large serving of fries and a big rice crispy marshmallow square! My wife had her favorite drink here, the Canadian Sunset, which is very tasty and huge!!! 34oz!!!! I had two big 34oz Labatt Blues... Which is awesome!!!

The first time I went to Kooky was the first week it opened in Cordova. Bad idea. So I waited and I'm glad I did. Great service and great food. The poutine was super but my burger was the main event. I had the Yonge Street burger. I added a fried egg and cheddar instead of American cheese. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. That is all.

First time at this location and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. You just don't get that same vibe that the downtown location has. The place is huge and when I was there, they were using up every inch of it. The place was packed and I have a feeling that it probably stays that way on the weekends. I had the black and blue burger and it was just ok, definitely nothing to write home about. The service was slow and the whole place just seemed like a disorganized mess.

After I was seated, it took a few minutes to be recognized by a server, but she apologized profusely and was a wonderful server during my stay. I ordered the poutine which met and exceeded all expectations for poutine in Memphis, Tennessee. The mini-deep dish cookie was the perfect cap to the meal-sized portion of poutine. I will definitely return.

Great staff, cute place, great fries, pretty good BBQ egg roll app. They need a "red" or dark beer avail. New fried chicken was over cooked and not spiced enough. The prime rib sandwich I had was overcooked and blah...blah roll too...and horseradish sauce that didn't have any horseradish in it. Blah. Hubby's side salad not nearly the nice salad he had the last trip here.

The service here is great. The food is great, too. I got the maple bacon burger. So amazing. Any place that makes candied bacon is an automatic win in my book. The fries are also really good. The monte cristo is also very good. It's not something everyone has so it's a neat bonus, plus it comes on a bacon waffle. Awesome. Another bonus is the dessert, they have s'mores. Not too fancy but I love s'mores and have to get them any time I see them on the menu somewhere. There's also several dessert skillets like brownies and bread pudding that look amazing. I could easily come here and just get a couple desserts, skip the sandwiches entirely. The one bummer is despite the place's casual vibe, it doesn't really encourage you to stick around. There's no booths and the chairs are a bit uncomfortable after 30 minutes. It's a shame because between the decor, the fireplace, and the good food it's definitely the kind of environment where you could relax.

I had a really good experience here. I got the Maple Bacon burger and my wife got the Memphis burger. While I didn't care for the avocado on their Memphis burger, I wolfed down the Maple Bacon burger and sweet potato fries because we were in a hurry, and man was it good! Put between two thick-cut toast slices reminiscent of french toast, with bacon, cheese and a maple aioli, it had a well-cooked and delicious hamburger as well. It was like a dream I never knew I had of eating breakfast on a hamburger. Service was good, even though it was crowded, and the waitress was able to get us in and out within 45 minutes since we were in a rush. Definitely will be back to try more!

Had a burger and it was cooked exactly as I ordered it, though I asked for the bacon extra crispy and it was still kind of chewy. Everything looked and tasted good. I wish I had the tummy room to try all the Quebec and Canada offerings. The next time, I think I will have a poutine burger. Staff was attentive and the restaurant looked nice and clean. My only complaint is that with how cold it is now, every time the door opened, the dining room got a whoosh of Arctic air. Most people, I noticed, were still wearing their coats and the hostess had on ear muffs!

I tried perogies here for the first time and they were amazing! The bacon and green onion layered on top was what put these over the top yummy. I will definitely be back for more. My only complaint is that the atmosphere is a bit off for me. I don't typically like establishments that are very open. I like more of an intimate and comfy setting, which this was not. I don't even recall that they offered booths. Good to see they opened out in the burbs and I hope it stays since others have failed at this location.

First off, when I come to the Kooky Canuck, I know not to expect a 5 star dining experience. Our experience was just ok. The service was terrific by our server Justin, however, there was a bartender who had a pony tail and he was a real dink. Both my friend and I are over 30 (and we look it)...so he carded us. I am not complaining that I was carded, however, this bartender held our IDs up to a florescent light and then bent them back and forth to make sure they were not fake....REALLY? I asked him what he was doing, and he said "Well, I want to make sure you both are not giving me fake IDs"....SERIOUSLY? Carding me is one thing, however, being an asshat about it is completely different.

Service staff very friendly and food was awesome however, they really need to re-think the sitting situation, tables are small and crammed in making it difficult to be comfortable.

After seeing the special on Man Vs Food and hearing good things about the downtown location, I was expecting a better experience. Service was lacking at first as most of the employees were hanging out. Eventually the service caught up with expectation but the food was not that great. I ate the poutin and my wife had the gyro sandwich. I've have better gyros in gas stations and the poutin was hamburger steak with cheese curds. It was all ok but I was truly let down especially as it is highly recommended by my American airlines dining account...the short of it is just skip the Kooky Canuck and go elsewhere.

Don't order the fish and chips. They rip you off by saying you get one piece of fish with the lunch portion, two pieces with dinner portion. The "pieces' are each a single fish stick about 2 inches long. More of a nugget really. They give you fries with a fish garnish. I would be embarrassed to serve this to someone given the clearly disingenuous menu description.

I ordered the Memphis Best and it was just okay. The egg was a little too fried as I couldn't easily bite it. The burger wasn't really seasoned all that well. The fries were good but I asked if I could sub out for something else and was told I couldn't. I was hoping to see someone face the big burger contest but no one ordered it. There wasn't anything about the place that wasn't average or just plain okay.

2nd time to eat there today. Ordered Seasoned Wings for appetizer and of course we all had burgers. Service was great as was the first time. Portion of food is always huge. We usually split a burger most of the time. Fries were crispy...definitely needs a tad more salt added to them. Only giving this four stars as burgers were ordered "medium" and they appeared "Well Done" this time, almost the point of a tad dried out. Otherwise, great dining experience. Oh...and not a Bad Bloody Mary either. Nice & Spicy!!

    (4)
  • Dianna M.

Absolutely the worst meal ever. First of all the music was so loud we couldn't speak to each other. The burger grease ran down my hand and the fries had to have been cooked yesterday they were so dry and over salted. We felt like a salt lick after only eating 1/2 the burger. Never again.

Absolutely awful! Burger was salty and over cooked. Blackened chicken salad was drenched with dressing to the point of being Inedible. When we told server, he said, "I'll let the kitchen know." No offer to make it right or take it off the check or even an apology. The fried pickles are good, but I won't be back!

I first have to say I have no problem w/the food, It was good, The seating however, IT IS THE WORST, worse than a school caf. I have visited twice at this location, both times for weekday lunch so it was not crowded but I would not want to be there if it was crowded! The tables are so close together it is bad when they are empty it must be AWFUL when they are occupied. The chairs themselves are VERY uncomfortable and not conducive to hanging out for a few drinks or even dessert. Also the first time we visited we waited quite awhile for someone to seat us as there is a sign stating "Please wait to be seated" There were only a few diners in there at the time so it was not busy. I only mention this because the first time we were there we were about to leave when someone did show up to seat us. However this time I witnessed a customer leave because he was not greeted in a timely manner. So in summation this is a good place for lunch but not a place were I would stay for awhile and spend more money i.e. drinks or dessert!
