This little store is one of the best places for pork chops and steak in Memphis. Steve Shea is the man who runs the butcher shop. He has decades of experience and takes pride in his work. (Example: For those of you who like the burgers at Alex's Tavern, Highpoint supplies the ground beef to Rocky and Andy.) You will also find a lot of local items in this store. The prices are acceptable and in many cases, quite competitive. Shop here and know that your dollars are helping to drive our important local economy. No Wall St ownership at this little gem. The retro feel of this place will have you reeling with déjà vu moments as you approach the old school checkout tables and walk the aisles. A produce section in the back corner has a respectable selection. A visit here is a fun experience with good people running a local business. Do not miss it!

This place isn't the cleanest or nicest, but talk about convenience! I am usually good about getting everything at Kroger but when I need something quick this place is so amazing. Not only is it 1 minute from my house, but I'm in and out within 3 minutes. Absolutely love it.

I wish this little grocery store was in my neighborhood. I would never go to Kroger for my grab and go groceries again! This grocery store is kind of like taking a step back in time, but it in a good way. The look and layout reminds of grocery stores when I was younger. They have all of the basics you could need. The meat selection is good, and the place is clean and organized. The prices are just OK - we paid $5.00 for some sugar free creamer, which is a bit ridiculous, but hey - we didn't have to wait in line and fight off crowds to get it. You can get in and out with your dinner ingredients in ten minutes or less, which is impossible in my neighborhood Kroger (I try not to go in my neighborhood Kroger if I haven't first taken xanax chased by a shot or four of vodka).

I adore this mom and pop shop! It is perfectly located (in my neighborhood, ha!) and great for those forgotten items. They may not have a huge selection, but the quality makes up for the quantity. Their steaks are divine! Plus it is so nice to be in-and-out of the store in 5 minutes. And the icing on the cake, the owners are so sweet and will call you by name. They also will carry your bags out to the car!

High Point Grocery is not too far from my house, but Kroger is a bit closer. It is definitely nice to have a little neighborhood store nearby though just in case I'm in need of something quickly. You can get in and out of High Point Grocery with no problems. Parking is easy, and the shopping experience is much less hectic than large supermarkets. The selections are surprisingly impressive for such a small store. You can find all of your staple items, and whatever else is on your list within minutes. I agree with Jolynna that the service is great- very personable. Prices are a bit higher than Kroger, but to me, the extra cash is well spent on the time-saving, no hassle benefits.

Very convenient to my house, so definitely 5 Stars! Prices are so so. If you need the little details for a recipe or laundry detergent you probably better off at a big box. But if you need a six pack, 2 potatoes, and some canned veggies you'll be alright.EXCELLENT meat department with fresh ground beef, fresh cut steaks and chops, as well as housemade sausage!! Great neighborhood grocery typically found only in urban cities and small country towns.

They may not have everything you need bit close to it. Nicest people you will ever meet! For big shopping, go to a supermarket. This place is great if you are close and only need one or two things.

I live near the High Point Terrace area, and am so glad we have this great little grocery store in the neighborhood. Because, sometimes I just don't feel like battling the lines and crowds at Kroger. The produce here is fresh and they have a decent selection of pantry goods. I also find the meat and poultry to be of good quality. I can typically find most of what I need on my list, and the prices are reasonable. The best part though, is the friendly service and no long lines.

Convenience over price in this case. Its nice to run to the grocery and pickup last minute items and not have to deal with traffic, parking or crowds.
