I do believe these were the best strawberry cupcakes I've ever had in my life. I could eat two maybe three without having any regrets! I tried the chocolate one as well and it was good but maybe it's better as a nice fluffy slice of cake. I love that place and will be back one of these days when I'm in the area again. And I just found out they sell the minis at Tamp and Tap downtown. Mmmmm now I'm craving one again!!

Wanted to try something different than Muddy's and was not disappointed! Saw the pictures of the butter cake online and had to try some once we got there. It was amazing! Grabbed a German chocolate cupcake and a carrot cake cupcake too. Fluffy and moist but not heavy. A great bake shop worth trying again!

The cupcakes are good, but it's no muddy's... Not sure if frost is a chain or completely local - i've had a few samplings off the menu - the cupcakes are light and airy with plenty of frosting -- just the way i like them.

I visited frost two weeks ago and I am a Frost believer. The cupcakes tasted better than my initial visit about a year ago. They have the best cupcakes in Memphis or ever. My cupcakes were ultra moist and the frosting was just right: not too sweet and not too much. Give them a try. They make awesome cakes too. My coworker brought one to work and it too was awesome. The staff is also very pleasant and I like the decor.

I LOVE this place! I know everyone raves about Muddy's, but I am a die hard frost fan! Everything I've tried has been so delicious! I first became hooked after trying a couple of mini cupcakes at an event they sponsored and have used any excuse (daughter's birthday, out of towners visiting, it's Wednesday. ...) to go back. I even had an incident where an item was accidentally left out of the bag and I was treated so nicely over the phone and when I went to pick it up later; even getting a free EXTRA and a personal apology and handshake from the manager. I really appreciated the professionalism. They have a life long customer in me!

I am so not a sweets person at all. So it's kind of last minute. I'm freaking out a little because I have to find a cake for a party. I went on #yelp and found this phenomenal bakery. Y'all when I tell you I have never ever in my life tasted something so moist, creamy, and fluffy. On top of the out of this hemisphere taste the prices are to affordable to say no. The ladies at The Frost Bake Shop must have hands kissed by God because what they're baking up is absolutely heavenly. #newcustomer #byebyekrogercakes

I have had the following: Lemon cake , strawberry, coconut, caramel. Butter cookie and chocolate cookies with icing in the center. The cake is always moist and frosting delicious. I even took a cake class at their central bake shop in cordova. They use real butter for icing if buttercream and cream cheese for cream cheese frosting. No shortening :) I still prefer muddys due to more of a variety.

So right now I will have to give them 4 stars, when the big event we have hired them for is over, they may get the 5th one. I have been to a tasting for bride and grooms cakes. I can say without a doubt the cake was excellent and the frosting was phenomenal. Alsia Cunningham was incredibly professional but still personable. I am excited about our cakes and am hoping we will be pleased on the day of our event. I will let you all know. Event date 10/04/2014. I will be visiting their retail shop in downtown because I hear the key lime cheesecake calling me.

I'll preface this by saying I am not a Gigis fan and I've never been to muddy's..... Love this place. The chocolate and coconut cake/cupcake are my favorites. Really moist and actually tastes homemade. And not tooooo much frosting. Would love the pecan pie more if it came in a bigger slice haha...but it's yummy!

I heard about Frost from a fellow yelper, he was raving about this place and as we often times don't agree on what defines tasty, I was skeptic, but in this instance he was right! Don't tell him I said that, he doesn't need a bigger head! These cupcakes are AMAZING! There isn't much of a selection but what you get is the best. They have a limited selection of cupcakes, a few cookies and a few bars. They are extremely affordable and I think they make most of their money through custom cakes. Muddy's will always be my cupcake place because I love everything they stand for, but where Muddy's cakes can be too sweet and a little overwhelming at times, Frost had the perfect balance!

I see a couple negative reviews and can't believe those whiny complainers are putting their personal vendetta on here. Don't let a joy-thief rob you of a great experience! I can't say enough positive things about this place. I was in town for company training for several weeks, and went here as much as possible. Their special "gooey butter cookie" is so addictive - you will LOVE it. I couldn't get enough of them! PROS: Staff is super-friendly and hospitable, quality of goods is top-notch, exquisite wedding cakes (saw displayed, tasted their cake), locally owned, everything very fresh, nice sit-down area. MUST-TRY: the gooey butter cake/cookies and if you like chocolate, the gooey chocolate. Their cakes are spectacular too. CONS: Tough to find any, but maybe their coffee could be a little better quality (if you eat your cake/cookies in, and want coffee, they offer a very basic brew as of early 2015). A little pricey, but really on par with any specialty bakery. I put cons on every review I do, and there just isn't anything truly negative to say about Frost. Summary: This is the ONLY place I will say that you absolutely CAN NOT miss out on if you visit Memphis. If you are local and haven't been, you are missing out on the best thing your home town has to offer.

My. Birthday. Cake. I am going to go ahead and pat myself on the back a bit for this one because I just hit a home run. Brides were more than jealous (literally gasping and then mumbling that my birthday cake was prettier than their wedding cake), people accosted me all night asking who made this piece of art, the professional photographer AND videographer couldn't stop taking photos of it, and guests were asking for doggie bags so they could take home some yummy goodness with them. And all I did was swing by the shop a month ahead of time, showed a nice lady the picture of a cake I found on Pinterest, paid the $550, popped back by the morning of my party and was on my merry way. Easy peasy. Oh, and there were three flavors in it: chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. All were winners. It was literally the centerpiece of my party - and worth every penny. When you hit 30, you have to celebrate!

Continued success in Memphis in the way of shoving my face with delicious food. After a trip to Fleet Feet for some shoes to help me burn some of these calories consumed we happen upon Frost Bake Shop. It's kind of hidden in this outlet mall maze of stores, but it is there. DO NOT MISS IT. Lovely bake shop, super friendly girls behind the counter chatting us up. Too many choices. I almost went with the Gooey Butter Cake cookie but then my friend and I saw the Oatmeal Raisin Creme Pie cookie. The staff sang their praises pretty highly so we each purchased one. They did not disappoint. Easily the best cookie I've ever had in my life. I mean that very sincerely. THE BEST. The cookie itself was chewy, soft, salty, sweet. The perfect oatmeal raisin. The creme filling was VERY sweet and therefore very very good. So much cookie and so much creme filling. Perfection. I bet their other cookies are incredible. I wish I could try more but an approximately 8 hour drive away keeps me at bay. If you have the means, hit this place up.

Such a cute bake shop with amazing dessert options. I had a delicious chocolate chip pecan cookie that melted in mouth! The mini cherry pie was great as well! This place has everything from cookies to cakes. Frost is definitely worth the calories.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! Not worth the pain. It's not the best cake I've ever had, but It's good. Strawberry cake is a bit chalky, chocolate cake is good, BUT they are so awful that I would rather pay three times as much just to avoid their awful customer service. When I told my friend I was going to order from them she said, "Good luck! I dare you not be pissed off by them when you try to order your cake." So i ignored her and went ahead and emailed them with my request as it says on their website. did not hear back from them after a week so I called. After calling 5 times at different times someone FINALLY picked. They got my name and info and said they would get it to the right person asap. ANOTHER WEEK went by and no word from Frost. So I tried calling back again a few times and no one would answer. Finally I got someone on the phone and she sounded annoyed to answer the phone (which I remember my friends telling me the same thing when she called). She asked for my name, so I spelled it out for her and she says, "Hold up hold up, say that again, " in an annoyed voice, then she puts me on hold for 5 minutes. I'm sorry I don't have time to wait 5 minutes. So I called right back but no one answered. I think I must have called them 20 times in total and they answered 2 times. At this point I told my friend who is throwing the party with me that she needs to call them. She miraculously gets a hold of the manger, who then calls me to find out what happened. I didn't want to call her back but I did. I did not talk to her but someone else at the store and let them know that she needs to hire new people. That this was not the first time we had had a terrible experience. My friend who ordered my birthday cake had an awful experience as well. The person on the phone was rude. They had the wrong date for the cake and kept telling her that she was wrong and rude about it. Which thank god there's email proof. The manger has been nice both times, but I shouldn't have to talk to the manger. I was thinking about using them for my wedding too but after this experience I think I rather get a root canal than deal with Frost ever again. Never again will I use this shop, nor would I recommend them. There are many other cake/cookie places in Memphis to have to put up with this.

Dear Frost - Love your bakeshop, love your cakes, love your cookies. However, I just called to put in an order for a friends birthday - she's a strawberry cake lover but likes cream cheese icing so wanted to order some strawberry cupcakes (knowing you do the cream cheese icing on your carrot cake cupcakes). Was told by your staff that you won't alter recipes in any way to make that happen. Love your products, have raved about them for a while but won't anymore. It's your prerogative to not let customers make requests to "alter recipes" and it's my prerogative to not give you any more business or recommendations. Sorry we're breaking up!

Tried Frost because of coworkers said they are pretty good but it was Not what I expected. The gooey bars are pretty good but not the cupcakes. I had chocolate, strawberry, lemon n red velvet but none matched my taste buds. The icing (cream cheese)on the strawberry cupcake was good but not the cakes itself (cake was too sweet n not moist as a cake should be). They did look delicious though. Sorry, But Ill be sticking with Muddy's Bake Shop !!!!

A very cute shop located in the back corner of the building... Decor is adorable, not tacky. Lots of displays of cakes. Nice selection of cupcakes, cakes and cookies. Now on to our review of our two slices of cakes we had purchased. It does leave a funny aftertaste. Red Velvet Cake: it was a moist cake with a cream cheese frosting. The red velvet is not as pronounced as I would have imagined. The cream cheese frosting was nothing magical. We had an issue trying to eat it because it kept crumbling off our fork. I think is was a deep color red because of the food coloring. Lemon cake: the host said it was made with real lemon juice and zest but I can't really taste the lemon in it. The cake was moist but again, crumbled off my fork, making it messy to eat. I would have liked a more lemon flavor profile. It's a cream cheese frosting as well, with lemon flavor. Buttercream would be a better choice in my opinion but I don't own a cupcake shop, I just find places to eat at when I travel :-) Probably would try the cupcake next time.

Amazing bake shop with the best cookies I've had in Memphis. A variety of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and macarons await the intrepid sweet tooth traveler! The decor sets the mood for this fun and delectably sweet bakery.

I wish I'd come here sooner! I'm just gonna start off by saying their gooey butter cookies are amazing. Yes, they're super sweet and insanely rich, but with a name like that, it's what you'd expect. If you like chess pie or are the type to lick the bowl when making cake batter, this would be up your alley. You can buy it by the slice too (in bar form), though it looked like it would be a little too gooey for me. They have a ridiculous amount of selection. They have cakes (whole or by the slice), cupcakes, pies, cookies...everything. And the pies? Again, whole or by the slice. But they also have these little mini pies that are adorable. So if you're a huge fan of the edges of crust or you want everyone to have their own individual pies (I imagine that'd be perfect for reheating, for example) they'd be great. The cookies are awesome, like I said. Very rich, so you can only eat one or two at a time. The cupcakes are good too. Very moist and flavourful. It's also great that the cupcakes aren't covered in frosting. So many cupcake shops smother them in frosting, but here it's actually in a good proportion so you can taste both. Everything stays fresh for a long time, too. I went Friday afternoon and it's now Tuesday night and nothing's stale. The employees are nice, too. In case you're not sure what's in something (everything's pretty self-explanatory though) they're happy to explain to you.

Best bakery in town... Hands down. I order Sam's strawberry cake every year for his birthday. I also got two dozen strawberry cupcakes for a friend's little girls birthday, and they were delicious, too! I have never had anything here that is disappointing!

Just taking another opportunity to sing the praises of Frost. Now, when someone comes into town to visit, our family doesn't say "Take them to Beale, show them the Pyramid, make sure they get some BBQ!" They say-"Make sure you get them one of those strawberry cakes!!" We're always happy to do so! Thanks, Bill, for such an amazing creation!

My hubby and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, so I decided to get a simple wedding like cake to surprise him. I chose the chocolate cake and its so moist and fluffy, so good! I got a very simple, very clean design that required fondant, which works perfect because my husband isn't that crazy about frosting. The only thing that didn't made me happy was the price. I wanted a small heart balloon on the top made of fondant, very small, very simple, and the price of it would have been almost the same amount of the whole cake, more expensive than covering the whole cake with fondant... just crazy. But that's my only complaint, period. Now my husband is a fan, my kids are fans and now we just can't wait to finish this one up so we can go get ourselves a coconut cake, or an orange cake, strawberry... gosh! so many options!!!

Ding, ding, ding!! Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages! Prepare yourself for the battle of the bakeries, the cupcake Crusades, the manslaughter in Memphis! In the blue corner, the reigning champion of the baked goods scene, weighing in at countless cupcakes sold, Muddy's Bake Shop! In the red corner, the challenger, weighing in at some of the best cake available locally, Frost Bake shop! Let's look at the tale of the tape: Frost is located in a small store front on the backside of the shopping center in Laurelwood. The inside of the store is much more sterile than the inside of Muddy's, but if you're as greedy as me you'll be unable to tear your eyes away from the display case anyway. In the display case, there are cakes, pies, cupcakes, mini-cupcakes, cookies, bars, and other treats. Frost lacks the variety of Muddy's (in terms of cupcakes), but they compensate with sheer deliciousness. Usually pumpkin flavor is reserved for Starbucks hipsters, but Frost has found a way to condense a little bit of the spicy goodness into a form that I can eat without feeling undressed if I'm not wearing skinny jeans (trust me, I'm not). They also have a carrot cake cupcake that makes you question your relationship to Bugs Bunny. Don't leave without trying the Memphis Best cake; i assure you it is not a misnomer. The service is always prompt and friendly. So friendly, in fact, that i often end up with way more items in my order than I originally anticipated. I wouldn't want to hurt my new friend's feelings by refusing to order and order...and order....and order. After all, nothing says loving like some treats from the bakery...or something like that. I still haven't decided who is winning the bakery battle. But my scorecard is becoming very full.

One of my friends works there [Shoutout to Katie] so I went to visit. Great atmosphere and service. They have one thing I have never got at Muddy's. That is CHEESECAKE. I love cheesecake and they have it. Key Lime cheesecake at that. This place is my friend.

I've tried several different cupcakes, the lemon slice and the gooey butter and they were all just ok. I think the cupcakes are a bit salty for my taste. Each time I've gone there (only twice), my cupcakes have been salty. Customer service is pretty good though.

Frost Bake Shop is located in the Laurelwood Shopping Center in East Memphis. The company has been making special order cakes and pies for Mid-South families in an industrial kitchen in Bartlett, but the storefront has only been around since last summer. Frost offers 10 flavors of cupcakes everyday, including chocolate, strawberry, caramel, red velvet, lemon and many more. For larger appetites, go for the standard size. If you like your desserts dainty, grab the mini versions. I believe that their whole cakes are actually far superior than their cupcakes, both in texture and moisture. I've actually ordered one of their caramel cakes for my birthday, and it was extremely delicious. At the shop, you can get your cakes whole or by the slice. But the true stars have nothing to do with cake. Here are the top two treats in the display case: - Gooey Butter Cookies - Oh my goodness, these are so good. Creamy, delectable, and buttery, these cookies are soft, rich and absolutely awesome dipped in coffee. - Mississippi Mud -This is my kind of dessert: moist brownie topped with marshmallow cream and slathered with chocolate frosting and drizzled with chocolate ganache. Frost is a one-stop shop for elaborate wedding cakes and custom birthday cakes, and it's one of the only sweet shops open seven days a week.

I decided to stop and try the cakes based on reviews listed on this site. I bought one slice of the strawberry and one slice of lemon cake. I honestly have tasted better cakes at a grocery store.

This place is good. They were full this afternoon, but although there are a couple of tables, it didn't seem like many people were staying and eating. Props to them for having samples! I have eaten - Chocolate with chocolate icing: Pretty good icing, not as rich and chocolatey as some other chocolate icings in town. The cake was spongy and while it wasn't dry, the overall mouthfeel was not as tender as it could have been. - Vanilla with caramel icing: A dryer vanilla cake. The caramel flavor of the icing was rich and delicious with only the slightest grainy texture (this is a common plight of the caramel icings I've attempted at home). - Strawberry with strawberry icing (mini cupcake sampler): I can't purport to KNOW what is in this concoction, but it had the neon pink color and tongue-twistingly tangy strawberry flavor reminiscent of a Laffy Taffy that is so common in strawberry cakes. I don't know what that's about, but it is not my cup of tea. I was grateful that this was a taster so that I didn't walk out of the store with it. Overall, I might go here again. The pricing is on-point with other local cupcake operations, and the quality is good. I think that generally, if I'm going to drive this far out Poplar, I'll take a left on Mendenhall instead and go to my other favorite bakery in Memphis, UNLESS I'm looking for caramel cake, in which case this is the only viable version I know of in the city.

Love it, love it, love it. My first visit to Frost was last weekend and it will not be the last. Finally a bakery in Memphis that could compete in any top city! Why I am a huge fan of Frost Bake Shop: 1. The cakes and cupcakes are about the actual cake. Not the toppings, frosting or decorations. While the frosting and decorations are great, the cake is moist, delicious and amazing and does not require the frosting to make the bite. 2. The employees recognized the importance of customer service and courtesy. 3. The interiors are perfect. It's as if Martha Stewart said, "I would like to open a bake shop in Memphis," and her logo and design team went to work. When ordered to go, all items are perfectly packaged for your enjoyment later. 4. The butter cookies. Just get one. If I wasn't afraid of the already impending obesity, I might just order one of everything.

Oh, hi, Frost. Have you met Muddy's? Because I bet you guys aren't exactly friends! Frost is bringing the deliciousness to East Memphis. Well, it was already here with Muddy's. However, if I can avoid the line, save a dime, and still get delicious goodness- how can I resist? Frost's cupcakes are the bees knees y'all. YUMM! Moist cake, the perfect amount of delicious creamy frosting. Oh my, my. Can't wait to go back and try some of their other delicious baked treats. Welcome to the neighborhood, Frost!

I live in Arizona and needed a retirement cake in Memphis. I found Frost online and contacted them. Alissa gave me a quote and we communicated through phone and email only. I wanted a MATA bus and they assured me they could do it. When I got to town my cake was ready and beautiful! I was thoroughly pleased (as the guest of honor was). The cake was beautiful and delicious. I chose the strawberry because of the rave reviews and it was magnificent. Moist and full of fresh strawberries. I highly recommend this bakery. I received great service and a great product. (See added photos of the cake)

I am disgusted with this business. I have had their cupcakes and they were fine. I have always enjoyed their sweets. This is the main reason why I decided I must get my cake from Frost Bake Shop for my wedding. Boy, was I wrong! Their communication is awful! They have absolutely no customer service. When you call, Frost Bake Shop, the calls go directly to an answering machine. When you dial 2, saying you have inquiries about a wedding, it goes straight to an answering machine as well. And the best part is that they will NOT call you back! I have waited for 5 days and still have not heard from anyone. This is so pathetic because they get most of their revenue from wedding cakes and groom's cakes. I will definitely not be using them in my wedding at all and am actually taking my money to Miss Muff'n. If you are a local Memphis/Germantown bride, I suggest you do the same.

***Update*** While my review below is still correct, I would like to clarify and state that I have had the cookies from Frost and they are wonderful. So wonderful that I've referred several people there, even with my experience below. I'm so glad to see that others have had better experiences than mine here. I'm a die-hard Muddy's fan and have been since their first week. However, I had friends in town and had heard so much about Frost that we decided to try it. I was super excited, as I was hopefully going to have a second bakery to visit. Once inside, I was greeted somewhat promptly, with no eye contact and other than the welcome, was never spoken to again. I had to ask for assistance, and when I asked about a couple of the cupcakes, I was answered curtly and treated as if I were wasting her time. In fact, I asked if they were about to close because it seemed as if I were keeping her from something. (They weren't - it was mid-day). I was so humiliated by the way we were being treated, after I had done all of this raving to my friends, that I apologized profusely to my friends and we left. We went elsewhere. Every time I hear of their good/great food, I now think of this experience. I understand that people have "off" days, and that's probably all this was. But it was still disappointing. I'm just glad that others have had far better experiences than mine. I wish them the best, because they truly do seem to have a good thing going.

I first heard about Frost Bake Shop in February at the Oscar event downtown. I tried the cupcakes and thought they tasted just fine. I didn't think much about them again until I met the owners at Zoo Rendezvous this month. I tried a chocolate cupcake, which was really yummy, and had a conversation about their new store in Laurelwood. They told me that they have been baking for years and that many restaurants actually serve their cakes. But told me that their new bake shop also sells tiramisu, cakes by the slice, 1/2 ($20) and whole ($38), customized cakes, cupcakes, cookies and much more. I was driving by and stopped in last week to pick up cupcakes for my husband's birthday and ended up with 1/2 chocolate cake instead. They asked me when we would be eating the cake, how long it would be sitting out and asked if I preferred a chilled or room temperature cake? They also made a recommendation on how to keep the cake longer. Wow! Overall, the store was super cute, the workers were all nice and attentive, the carry box was durable and the cake itself was so moist and flavorful, but not too rich! Even 3 days later, it was still really good!

I am a true fan of muddy's bake shop. Hands down Frost has the best cookies I have ever tasted. They are most, tasty, and filled with the goodness you would except from a bakery. The cupcakes still need a little work to top muddy's, but they are by far a true close second pushing for first. When a business is able to do the simple things right it goes a long way with the customers. They have great attitudes when greeting you in the store and the gooey butter cookie and chocolate chip is to die for! If they sold ice cream, which I never asked about or saw on the menu it would be great. Definite a bake shop to visit any day of the week.

I have only been once but it was awesome. A coworker brought in some Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies in a little box, almost like a present sporting a cool "F" logo. These were soft, yellowish cookies. I was hesitant, I thought I had discovered all of the great places for treats in Memphis! Well this one I had missed. After trying that cookie at work I immediately looked them up and my girlfriend and I made a stop. Great looking place and all their stuff is on display in a large case. It seemed as if they're continuously bringing fresh treats out to fill the case with too. We got one big chocolate Chip cookie, two of those Ooey Gooey Butter cookies, a strawberry cupcake and a banana nut bread cupcake. I spent $9. Not too bad, I've done worse. Everything was delicious and as much as I loved the Ooey gooeys I think the chocolate chip cookie may have been even better. Absolutely worth checking out but be cautious not to get hooked as I'm sure this stuff will fatten you up nicely.

Frost Bake Shop is located in the Laurelwood shopping center, near Turkoyz and Panera Bread. I heard about it from social media, and let me tell you, I'm glad I did. I've been meaning to try Frost for weeks, and since a couple friends were having less-than-ideal days, I decided to surprise them with some cupcakes. Unfortunately, I decided to do this on Labor Day; I feared everything would be closed. Alas, much to my delight, Frost posted on Facebook that they would be open until 4:00 PM on this day. A+ for good social media communication and convenience! Anyway, I walked in to a busy bake shop, indeed. Despite this, I was greeted promptly and multiple salespeople/bakers were available for questions. I was also offered samples, which is naturally always a plus. The decor was cute, yet simple; nothing about it was overwhelming or tacky (think the polar opposite of Yogurt Mountain's horrendous purple and green color scheme). Prices were on point with other bake shops in the area. As you can tell from my previous bit on their decor, I'm big on presentation. This may seem silly, but I LOVE their packaging. I drive like a maniac (the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one, right?), and whenever I get cupcakes, they always move in the box and the icing gets messed up. Kind of upsetting when you pay 2 dollars for a cupcake. At Frost, I didn't have to worry about this, as they gave my cupcakes to me in boxes that contained inserts that separated each cupcake. Packaging seems like an afterthought in so many other places, but it seems like they actually put thought into it here. I managed to deliver my cupcakes unscathed for once. :) Now for the really important stuff: the goods. Frost has a variety of cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. I got an assortment of chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing and strawberry cupcakes with strawberry icing. Both varieties were top-notch. A perfect balance of fluffiness and density was present, and they were very moist and fresh. The icing was also on point. Unlike Gigi's, they didn't overload their cupcakes with icing. Equal thought was put into both aspects of the cupcake, and it shows. Needless to say, I'm stoked for my next visit to Frost. This is truly not JUST another bakery in Memphis.

Unfortunately, even with a good product, the fact that the service and business acumen is non-existent is a disappointment. To deal with a perishable product , yet deny sales purely so you don't run out makes absolutely no sense. Sell it now or sell it in 3 hours- a sale is a sale. This on top of poor attitudes makes it just not worth the hassle, especially with all the other game in town.

We had Frost make cakes for our wedding. We hate to give anything other than a 5 for this review, because the flavor and the quality of cake is unparalleled by any other company in Memphis. This was one of the first naked cakes they have ever done, and it was, as we have come to expect from Frost, delicious and moist, though it did need some flowers for decoration. However, we encountered some serious issues with the groom's cake we received. We had consulted with the head cake designer from Frost several months before, and had discussed our expectations of how the cake would appear. We had come to believe, based on their online cake images, that they would blow us away. However, on the wedding day, the cake was delivered tragically short of what we had discussed. The cake was the wrong color, had used entirely fondant (despite emphatic requests otherwise for buttercream), and the decorations looked as though they had been forgotten until one hour before delivery. That said, we called the company immediately after delivery, and they promptly apologized, brought two replacement cakes to the venue, and drew new designs to compensate. They also refunded the cost of the groom's cake. Their professionalism could not have been more timely and appreciated, and their response was heartfelt. We will still recommend their services to friends based on the quality and taste, but perhaps their attention to select and promised designs needs some improvement.

Ordered my son's birthday cake a month in advance for a party of 60. When we went to go pick up the cake one hour before the party, we were informed that there was a crack down the middle of the cake and they were sorry! The received the cake the night before and I guess did not look at the cake until pick up time. There was no way to fix it. The image on the cake had bubbles in it and definitely not a frost bakery finish. Feel so disappointed and felt so embarrassed at my son's party. I was asked " what happened to the cake!" They apologized and did not have a replacement cake big enough for our party. I will not be going there for future party cakes and bake goods.

What is not to love at Frost? A cozy and lively atmosphere, cakes, cookies, pies, cupcakes, oh my. I have not had a bad sampling from Frost yet. I love the banana cupcake but the carrot cupcake is pretty amazing also. The Strawberry cake is a must have, although if you have ordered strawberry cake from any number of Memphis restaurants over the years, you have probably had it already. I have treated plenty of clients to a sampling of Frost cup cakes and the reviews have never been less than stellar! If you have not tried Frost yet, what are you waiting for?!?!

Strawberry cupcake and gooey butter cake were extremely old. Both items were hard and felt like they had been left out for days. This is not our first visit and each time we come we run into the same problem. I have came early in the morning, mid afternoon and evening.

We went there about 3 pm on a sunday afternoon. There were 3 ladies ahead of us. Was not sure if there were being waited on or not. The 3 ladies were walking and looking up and down bakery case. There is not a defined line. A lady and her little girl walked in after us. I told her to go ahead. The most shocking thing when we walked in is they only had 3 or less of each flavor of cupackes in the bakery case. I was told they had more in the back. I understand that they probably didn't to get more out of the back cause it was hour before closing. I just thought it was strange. I got cupcake anxiety. I bought 7 cupcakes and they put them in a nifty cardboard carrier. However, when i got to my destination, i discovered they still intermingled. As for the cupcakes, they were good. They seem slightly smaller than Muddy's but similiarly priced. The flavors i think were the pretty good. The best flavors were the caramel and the strawberry. The other items in their bakery case look interesting-lime keg pie, scottish butter shortbread, tiramisu, lemon bars, ooey gooey butter bars. I am sure we will be back to try other items rather than the cupcakes. They are open more days than muddy's so that is a bonus. Frost is worth trying for sure. Options are good.

Frost Bake Shop made my daughter's wedding cake. I have never had a cake that tasted so great!!! The cake was absolutely beautiful. We had the coconut, red velvet and chocolate. You cannot go wrong with Frost. It's the best!

Best bakery in Memphis! The citrus cakes are very good. I am not a chocolate person but their chocolate cake is yummy. The Memphis cream cake looks really good but I am allergic to walnuts. I which they would make non walnut version including their carrot cake. The ooey gooey cookies are good, but need more flavor. Thinking lemon zest or add more vanilla?!? I which this location sold fountain drinks rather than canned cokes and water. They need more kid friendly drinks like chocolate milk and Juice. Otherwise great place much better and cleaner than Muddy's.

Frost Bake Shop is the perfect setting for a quick take home dessert or dine in delight! The flavors abound with a choice of so many of your favorites that you will be hard pressed to choose just one! The cakes are also moist and have just the right amount of frosting which complements the cake but does not take away from its delicious richness! If you haven't tried Frost yet.... What are you waiting for!!? Head over there ASAP!
