If you are in the mood for Chinese takeout then this is a good option. Everything was prepared very quickly, was hot when we got there, and still hot when we got home. They also threw in some of their homemade roasted peanuts for free as a dessert. As far as quality goes, I think they are slightly higher quality than most takeout places. I'll definitely be a repeat customer whenever I'm in the mood for Chinese.

This is mine and my husbands favorite Chinese restaurant in Franklin! We've been coming here for about 2 years now and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is family owned.. And the owner is so sweet every time we come in. She remembers our order, makes us feel super welcome and that makes all the difference. My favorite thing on the menu is their Great Wall chicken! It's like a fusion between orange chicken and honey chicken. So good!! I've had their sesame chicken too and liked it but nothing compares to the Great Wall chicken IMO. We always get lo mien instead of rice and its hands down the best lo mien I've ever had. I could swim in it! I read in a previous review that a waitress threw down the menu.... Who cares!! The owners teenage daughter helps out every now and then. My menu gets semi tossed in front of me too from time to time but they're not being mean, they just work fast.. and it doesn't change how yummy the food is. Love, love, love their food. :-) Oh, and they use real silverware. Most "hole in the wall" Chinese places give you plastic but not here!

i've worked walking distance from here for well over a year and a half and just tried it for the first time recently----i'm so upset with myself!!!! why didn't i try this place on day one of my employment! it's soooooooo yummy!! i had....sesame chicken with fried rice and crab wontons. the chicken was hot and perfectly cooked--not greasy, not too crispy, not overly seasoned, not too heavy---just perfect! the rice, it was light and fluffy, and wonderful! the crab wontons, i wasn't hungry by the time i moved to them, but i ate them anyway, because they were just so yummy! again, not too greasy and heavy, not too fried and crispy, the crab filling was perfect, the dough it was wrapped and fried in was perfect. i really want to drive from mt. juliet to there now, since i'm all hungry thinking about it. little tiny chinese restaurants in low-key centers can be awesome, and this place proves it!

We've tried this restaurant 3 times. First time was around February of 2011. I was so excited to have a Chinese restaurant so close to our home. It was a dirty establishment. I was very, very disappointed in the food. Not at all what I was hoping for. Granted, having moved from the Chicago area we're used to a higher quality (one thing that is frustrating is that some establishments in Franklin do not fight to be head and shoulders above because they don't need to be - they rely on passers by and out of towners). The second time was two years later in 2013. Same thing, just not what we had hoped for. The food is just bland. The third, and final time, was with friends. We tried take out. Our friends love Great Wall of China. They're relative natives of Franklin, having lived here for some 15+ years. I was just as disappointed. Still, bland. We will not be trying The Great Wall of China again. I'm happy others have had different experiences. But we've been very disappointed.

Based on the reviews we tried Great Wall of China at about 2pm. Not sure what happened but it was not impressive at all. The young waitress practically threw the menus at us and walked away (?) another waitress took our order. She swatted a fly and smashed it on the table near us. I couldn't believe that. The waitress cleaned the entire floor and I know she did because those wooden chairs were dragged 199 times and made our lunch a noisy and annoying time. Food: I've been to 1000 Chinese restaurants and I've never seen fried rice that was sooo bland. Just plain white rice with a tsp of soy....no egg, carrots, peas...nothing!! The Kung Po chicken was just ok. Gosh I expected more based on the reviews. It was a hole in the wall type of dirty lookin place. So scared I was going to be sick afterwards!

What I like most about this place is that it is run by one family. It's the real deal. Fast, good and authentic.

I still can't believe how great their food is. They have an eating area for eating in. Their portions are fantastic. The most tender beef I've gotten from any Chinese places EVER! I use beef fried rice and beef and broccoli as test dishes. They're both FANTASTIC! Can't wait to try many more of their dishes.

When my wife and I want Chinese food (because we are watching the gang eat Chinese on The Big Bang Theory, we want to feel like we are in NYC or just need a lo mein and General Tso's Chicken fix) we drive past two other Chinese restaurants to go to Great Wall. The food is excellent, the staff is always very polite and friendly and the food always seems to stay pipping hot until we get our take-out home. This is simply the best Chinese in Franklin. The dining room is pretty small, but since I always take the food to go it has never hindered my experience. Note: Egg Flower Soup is the same as Egg Drop Soup General Chicken is the same as General Tso's Chicken Take it from me when I want delicious, Chinese food The Great Wall of China hits the mark every time.

Tried takeout for 1st time tonite and I'm sorry we haven't been there before now. The Lo Mein was my "calibration" dish and it was great! I can say the Beef & chicken Hunan style was A-1 and the Lemon chicken also very well prepared. I was also impressed by the quality of the ingredients-the shrimp were large, the chicken and beef were tender AND the quantities were generous. We are locals and we SHALL RETURN.

Great Chinese food in Franklin? Yes, it exists! After a hard day of moving, the hubs & I pulled up with the intention of eating at Subway. Then we see Great Wall - with a "we serve brown rice" sign in the window. SOLD! We both love having the option of brown rice so we headed inside. A small, unassuming place, but the food was delicious. I had egg flower soup (egg drop soup), as well as the Vegetarian's Paradise. The egg flower soup tasted fresh, as did all the lovely veggies in my dish. Snow peas, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, peppers - all yummy. Everything was seasoned well which I really appreciate - just a dash of soy was all I wanted. My husband had the hot & sour soup as well as the Tsao San Shien. He thoroughly enjoyed his as I did mine. We both went for the brown rice which was cooked perfectly. Since that first visit we've returned multiple times for take-out, and it's always really good. We liked the shrimp toast & will certainly order it again. If you like Chinese, you should really give this place a try. They also give you candied peanuts for dessert. :)

Recently changed hands but you wouldn't know it from the food as recipes are still the same. It's probably the best Chinese in the Grassland area. Not saying much, but they approach Chinese food with a deft hand, as opposed to the greasy joints dotting the rest of town. They actually have a dining area that doesn't look like a hospital waiting room! Prices are a little higher than your local greasy spot, but the quality is generally there. Their Hot and Sour soup is quite good. I can also recommend the BBQ Spareribs and Shrimp Toast on the appetizer menu with a good conscience. Great flavor and texture on the ribs and the Shrimp Toast are fantastic. If you've never had it, it's fried and delicious. Try it, although it is comparatively expensive. They do have a lunch menu and a lunch special every day. I like the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and occasionally the General Chicken. It's not as syrupy sweet as other places and it's obvious that they fry their chicken to order. It's nice and crispy, as opposed to greasy and chewy at other places. Their fried rice is very spartan. Only a brownish tinge and bits of egg separate it from steamed rice.

Really, really good Chinese takeout. They have delicious Five Flavored Chicken. It is my favorite dish and is getting hard to find so I was glad to see it on their menu. Great flavor. Vegetables were not overcooked. The mushrooms rocked. Their fried rice is quite good and does NOT have peas like so many places around town. Huge plus for me. Egg rolls were fantastic. Thin crispy exterior packed full of cabbage, etc. When I'm in the Grassland area I'll definitely return.

Our go to Chinese in the Franklin area. Great for pick on the way home. Lots of food for value and excellent egg rolls. While you wait, they'll give you a bag of sweet peanuts. Friendly staff and the kids are always happy with it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
