Daily Dish Cafe & Catering Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

What Daily DID well (and I say DID because they DON'T anymore), was to provide a consistently good cafeteria style buffet with good sized to-go portions. It was the good food equivalent of the Little Caesars "Hot-n-Ready". If my wife needed me to pick something up on the way home, it was quick, easy and reasonably priced. If we needed to eat quick between work and a meeting or sports event, no problem. The new full service menu and meat-n-three available isn't really conducive to the convenient neighborhood takeout that we loved. Dear Daily Dish, please come back. What you were is what we needed. What you are, well, not so much.

We were going to brunch tomorrow. I was going to make a reservation and found out brunch is no more. Oh well. The one we had was great.

Do understand that the Dish has dropped the Sunday brunch, Saturday meals, and nighttime meals. They close on weekdays at 3:00. It seems they are concentrating on their catering and private party events. The mini-buffet is still stocked with the same yummy Southern-based veggies and meats you're accustomed to.

BAD TO HORRID! One of the best things about Daily Dish used to be their staff. They were always polite and cheerful. I went today and could not believe how completely unfriendly and downright hostile the two women working the counter were. In addition, I ordered a $9 chicken pesto salad that when served came with no dressing and no fried cheese as stated on the menu ("Sorry - we're out of balsamic would you like the cherry? Um no, cherry and pesto would make me vomit"). If you are out of key components of an entree LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW WHEN ORDERING so they can choose something else if they wish. UGH! I am not thrilled with their new format (same meat and three food served at lunch is on dinner menu but at huge price increase). Sadly, I am done. We used to come here often but with shrinking portions, surly staff, and higher prices it is just not worth it.

New format! Full service! It was supposed to be the same menu? The only thing that was familiar were the types of food. Ordered just a plain cheeseburger, got some kind of mushroom burger. Patty was prefab and lacked seasoning. My bride ordered the chicken fried steak. While the three large pieces of steak appeared made to order, the gravy was definitely not. It tasted like a McCormicks type of white gravy, yuck. I get why the concept had to change. Food and labor costs must have been sucking them dry, but they are gonna have to deliver better quality for table service. I wish them well! It is gonna be a while before we take another chance.

Local. Came for Sunday buffet. Small with outdoor seating. The eggs Benedict, scalloped potatoes, ham, salads waffle... All yummy. Not great for large groups and lots of kids. Live music. Good find....

Another Nashville-area secret--just south of the city in Grassland. Oh my! Have had lunch here several times. Always great food served with courtesy. Stopped this morning for the Sunday Brunch. Oh my! Sweet, savory, succulent, satisfying and a bargain to boot! Too many dishes to mention, so let me highlight just a few: Eggs Benedict served on split Croissant instead of English Muffin - so flavorful, rich & creamy, eggs done perfectly. Jalapeño Grits - not hot - just piquant enough and so very, very sweet and buttery...mmm. Broccoli salad (and other salads) plus grilled veggies - just right. Steamed shrimp cooked just right. Coconut-crusted Goat cheese medallions - decadently melt in your mouth. Roast beef with wild-mushroom gravy...the beef was tender and bright, pink rare--beautiful. (The mushroom gravy just so-so.) Baked ham. Desserts that I didn't have room to try. And, did I mention...made-to-order omelets and waffles. The list goes on. Oh my. Oh my!

Great food, great location in the Grassland area just off of Hillsboro Road. It's easy to get in and out with kids.

This sweet little place often wins "Best Of..." awards. I'd never been able to stop in until yesterday and I'm so glad I did! You've got your meat & 3 options...but everything looks so much better than the typical fare you see around town. Sometimes M&3 places are just such a mess, not very appetizing. I opted for a cup of chicken/sausage gumbo and...wait for it....the almond crusted goat cheese salad. Holy stink was that good! Fresh mango, almonds, strawberries, mixed greens, an amazing dried cherry balsamic dressing and of course, almond crusted goat cheese. I was sorry that I was alone for lunch because I wanted to be able to say, "Isn't this good?" "OMG, isn't this great?" to someone! I read their menu and there are several reasons to go back. I bet they earn that 5th star soon!

It is a great meat and three kind of place after work but their sunday brunch is really good. Kind of pricey with $20 per person but you get a wide variety of food such as smoked salmon, eggs Benedict and so on.Better bet hungry!

It's all good when it starts with a biscuit! Yes, a large homemade cheddar drop biscuit brought to the table almost as soon as we sat down. Crispy at the edges, soft in the middle and so flavorful I did not even put any butter on it. The brunch buffet is now an a la carte menu (except for special occasions, like Mother's Day, I think), which suited me just fine. Although I was curious about the savory offerings, I always have to try to the french toast when I go somewhere new. I was not disappointed. Thick slices of bread, perfectly cooked. The side order of bacon was generous and just crispy enough for me. My dining companion had one of the benedicts - with smoked salmon. I had a bite and was impressed and I don't even like smoked salmon. Next time, I'll probably try the steak benedict. The regular one with shaved ham looked really good, too. Yes, I was ogling everyone's meals and they all looked wonderful. Service was very friendly and attentive. There was a large group next to us and they seemed to handle that well, too. It is a comfortable, casual place. The perfect spot to start the day!

My wife's favorite takeout when the day has worn us out and we don't cook. Coconut chicken, great beef when they have is afresh country veggies. I like the mango ice tea also.

Great meat and three restaurant. There's nothing fancy about Daily Dish but the food is good grub. I love the meatloaf and get a double serving when ever they have it. My dad loves the Southwest salad and all the good greens they serve up every day. If you are looking for a good hearty meal this is the place to go. You will not walk away hungry!

It begins with a biscuit A drop biscuit, or so I was told by my lovely brunch companion who is well versed in all things biscuit. It had a nice crusty texture and a fluffy center. Not at all a bad way to start a brunch. For the feature act I had the smoked salmon benedict. The salmon was subtly smoked so it's great flavor blended well with the more subtle egg and croissant. This was complemented by a side of hash brown casserole a good cup of coffee and I was a happy man! They have remodeled since my last visit, back in the brunch buffet every Sunday days. I like the new look and the a la carte brunch better. I'm told they still do the full brunch buffet for Mothers Day and other occasions. Visit this friendly neighborhood cafe, they will leave you impressed by the quality of the food as well as the politeness of the service.

i was a bit disappointed in my experience here. i've had several coworkers rave about this place to me, so i was pretty excited to try it. i had the chicken and dumplings, fried okra, and macaroni and cheese. the chicken and dumplings were lukewarm at best, and somewhat bland, the fried okra was decent, but not any better than your from the freezer section bagged variety, and the macaroni and cheese was the biggest disappointment :sigh: it was one of the most disappointing mac and cheese servings i've had (overall, lukewarm, mushy/soggy, and just blah). maybe i went on an off day, or maybe some of my coworkers have not had awesome meat and 3 type places, but, i wouldn't go back, nor would i really recommend it to someone.

A cozy little meat and three located off Hillsboro Pike (US 431) in Franklin, Tennessee. The shop is located next to a BP gas station and just diagnonally across from a strip mall that for the life I me I cannot tell you what is in there - it's been a long, long time since I paid any attention. Anyhow, the Meat and 3 aspect of the place is similar to what you would expect at most. It's serve (like lunchroom style) and seat yourself in style. So, you grab your tray and silver, walk up to the counter, and order either your meat and two or meat and three. You walk a couple more feet and pay at the register. It's a pretty simplistic concept and works for most Meat and Threes including this one. The day I was there the vegetable choices were: green beans (in some sopping wet liquid that looked like water), green bean casserole, mac'n'cheese, sweet potatoes (but let it be noted I had to ask what they were...), fried okra, and some other kind of casserole. The meat choices were coconut fried chicken breasts (thin sliced breasts or pounded, not sure which), meat loaf, and something else (I didn't ask). My choices: Mac'n'cheese, coconut chicken, fried okra. You also are able to select a biscuit (or as many biscuits as you would like according to the lady behind the cash register - I abstained from any) and then a drink (water for me). Mac and cheese was just OK. Chicken was just OK. Fried okra was just OK. Look nothing was bad. But nothing "popped" for me either. I might go back for lunch one day, but it's probably a once in a year type of visit.

The food here is always good. The salads, fried chicken, sweet tea, and rolls are some of my favorites. My only complaint is that the food (which typically sits out under warming lights) is not always hot enough. But for the price, you're always going to eat well.

Ruined our Mother's Day. We had 4 young children, adults from out of town and a reservation. We arrived on time and were told there would be at least a 45 min delay. It would have been a lot longer as there was a huge line outside . There is only one reason an experienced restaurant would do this....pure greed.

We recently used the Daily Dish to cater a wedding at our home. We had a traditional Southern menu and the guests were amazed at the food quality. I have never seen so many wedding guests making return trips to the buffet. While the food was truly wonderful, the thing that really set this catering service apart from others we have used was the staff. They arrived on time, they were friendly, professional and pitched right in to help get everything ready. As guests finished their meals the staff unobtrusively cleared the tables and hand washed all the china (we were using our own sets of mismatched china so it all had to be clean before we went to bed that night!) This service was above and beyond, they did not leave until they made sure we were in a good place with our clean up. They also managed to somehow pack up and remove their service items in a way that I was surprised to look up and see they were gone. I highly recommend them as event caterers.

I don't know if they've improved in the past few months, but I've been here about a dozen times and I've given up on the place. Yes, if the food is fresh, it can be fairly tasty. Their fried chicken is nothing to be sneered at and their grits are pretty fine. I like how they offer a couple of chutneys and relishes that definitely add to the overall experience. But that's about it. Their prices are absurdly high and their specials are often recycled dishes from a few days ago. Leftover beef? Use it for bad tasting chili or some other soup. I'm OK with inventive uses for old food, but if the recycled food tastes old, the cook hasn't done his job and it shouldn't be sold, special or no. Do not order off the menu. Sandwiches are weak at best. Their hamburger might be the worst in town. If you're in a bind, go to Barbara's down the street. If you've got time, go to Arnold's in Nashville.

It says that five stars means "as good as it gets" and Daily Dish is "best in class." What is the class? Small casual local eatery. I'm not comparing Daily Dish to The Palm or Ruth's Chris. I'm rating it against restaurants that around here they call "meat and three's." (Not being from Tennessee or the south, I'd never heard that phrase before but quickly learned that it means an entree and three sides.) For the most part meat and threes are casual places that you can go to in anything from shorts and a tee shirt to "Sunday Best" after church. What I want to tell you about is their Sunday Brunch. I've lived in Franklin for almost 7 years but never knew about the Daily Dish. This morning I was looking for a Sunday All You Can Eat Brunch Buffet and ran across another Yelp review that said it was great so I took my 13 year old and two of my 11 year old triplet sons. When we sat down the waiters asked if it was our first time and when we said "yes," she proceeded to tell us about everything available. Shrimp, smoked salmon, bagels, a mango & strawberry salad with mixed greens; a pastry station with a nice assortment; a cheese station with goat cheese, melted brie, strawberries and more; a banana Foster's station; a dessert station with creme brûlée, melted chocolate with strawberries and marshmallows. The hot stuff includes eggs benedict, sausage patties, awesome thick bacon, a breaded/encrusted puff thingy with goat cheese in the middle, grits that my son said were the best he ever had, shredded potatoes with cheese and a few other items I can't remember. On top of that, you can order any type of egg or omelette you want from the kitchen, made to order and Belgian Waffles with chocolate chips, Oreos and a couple of other options I can't remember (all included in the price). The made to order stuff you order from your server. One of my 11 year olds ordered TWO chocolate chip Belgian waffles. The waitress told us they could be ordered as a quarter, half or whole. That shoulda been my clue. I told my son he could order ONE and if he ate that one he could get another. Whew! He ate MAYBE a quarter. Their huge, fluffy, topped with whipped cream. My other two sons took one look and ordered a quarter which was more than enough. In short, GO! My sons asked me if we could go there every Sunday. We won't, but for sure we'll go once a month. Price was $16.99 for adults and 1/2 price, $7,99 for kids 12 and under. I, ahem, palmed my 13 year old off as 12. At $7.99 for kids it's a great deal... at $17 for a kid... not so much. I felt the price was fine for an adult. As another review said, it's near-luxury hotel buffet at a moderate price. Best endorsement is that I'll go back many times.

These guys catered our wedding and did an amazing job. I highly, highly recommend them. They are very professional and the service was top notch. Months after the ceremony and reception, our guests keep telling us how it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding ever.

Is this a dream? A mix of hearty Southern food and healthy dishes like their excellent salads, fruits, smoked salmon? All you can eat brunch? Cooked by a real chef who loves to cook, not some frozen food heated by a kitchen staff? I've been to their Sunday brunch buffet several times and always leave stuffed and satisfied. I usually equate all you can eat brunch with low quality or high prices. The Daily Dish fills a segment with a price a little higher than chain stores but lower than luxury hotels, yet the quality as good as or better than many luxury hotels. The made-to-order waffles are super fluffy and the omelets are customizable a zillion different ways. Their meat and three prices are also quite reasonable and I expect to return for a dinner sometime soon.

Don't let me modest exterior deceive you! This is a wonderful family restaurant with great food and service. Today we went for the brunch which is $19.99 for adults (little pricey?) It is all you can eat and boy can you get fed. The strawberry goat cheese salad is my favorite for a starter. Then progress to the hot cheesy potatoes and delish cut roast beef and ham. Dessert is equally as tempting with many choices including hot chocolate dippers. You just go and see!

I dined here for brunch with my family on a Sunday for their all-you-can-eat buffet. I should state that I am a pescatarian, so the price for buffet ($16 if I recall) is very high to not be able to eat the other meats, but, that was my decision. The buffet was laid out nicely and each item I tried tasted good. In addition to the buffet, you may order separately, included in your price, like a made to order omelet or a Belgian style waffle. My server (Eli) was very, very professional and attentive. Actually, each person we encountered was super accommodating since we had our 6 week old infant with us. The place is really small, the decor was meh and the floor was slippery (?) The server's aprons reminded me of Cracker Barrel. They should probably rethink the brown. I would probably stop in for a lunch item or takeout because the menu reads well, but I won't return for the Sunday all-you-can-eat because of my limitations.

The Sunday Brunch at the Daily Dish is the best way to pass a leisurely morning. The cool jazz, the sumptuous beef and ham carving table, the fresh breads and eggs to order make this not only a delicious way to pass the time but gets the morning off to a great start. Chef Sean Begin oversees this delight little restaurant and makes it a great deal more than just a meat and three.

I had to join Yelp just to write my review on this place. I was blown away on how bad the food is. Gross, gross, gross! This place is essentially my idea of food hell. Had the GROSS misfortune (see what I did there?) of coming here for a friend's birthday on a Sunday. I was optimistic because reviews were so positive and who doesn't love a little Southern style meat and three every now and then? Apparently me! This restaurant and the food fail spectacularly. Bringing things out on platters that involve sterno to keep your food warm isn't a great idea, though I admit that having the flavors masked by the sterno was probably not the worst thing that could have happened because the food was so bad as to essentially be inedible. It looked, smelled, and tasted like someone had already eaten it at some point; I believe that it is reused food that didn't get eaten threw out the week and reheated to serve on Sunday's brunch pretty much managed to choke down three mouthfuls before waving my napkin in surrender, and surreptitiously left my conspicuously full to-go box on the table when fleeing from the joint. I can't figure out how other people were gobbling this stuff down and positively raving about it, because this is still the meal that haunts my nightmares. Whenever my wife & I dine out somewhere and are underwhelmed, we always ask, "But is it worse than The Daily Dish?" and the answer is invariably "No". If you value your stomach in any which way, avoid this place at all costs. This is a place where Slow roasted prime rib (dry), Honey baked ham, (dry) Smoked salmon display (smell of week old salmon that is) which I know was all out of temp is the height of decadence dishes. I know some people dig a meat and three food but this takes things to really scary dark place. The atmosphere was nice, but very loud and noisy for a Sunday. And the service was not that great. The wife and I felt as if the sever could have care less to be working that morning, but what they were serving on their buffet line was so bad, I vow to never come back here ever again and neither should you. Seriously the worst meal I've ever had in my life. Avoid!!!

I've yet to find a great meat and three in Franklin, but this is the best I've found. I like the chicken and dumplings and the goat cheese balls on the salad were interesting. I've eaten here a few times an will again. Super friendly people!

Maybe I hit it on a bad day but this place needs work. To begin with, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and they had no hot water and I let it run for at least a minute or two. Went thru the buffet line and the server and cashier were very nice. Portions were large. I got the salisbury steak. I ate in and none of it was hot. The steak had a burnt taste to it. The potatoes and green beans were ok. The table I sat at was dirty, I looked around at the other tables (there was only one other table sat) and they were dirty too, it was obvious they dont wipe them down when they are slow. Since they have 4 1/2 stars I will give them another try another day but for the price my experience could have been a lot better.

One of our favorites in Franklin. We're there once a week. Cool little meat & three that also has a bit of gourmet casual menu to order. Our kids get the meat & two (typically okra and mac & cheese) and my wife and I almost always have the cornmeal encrusted mahi mahi sandwich. So good. People are nice. Food is awesome. And Sunday brunch is unfreakingbelievable.

The food here is good but the prices are high. Their Sunday brunch is a must, but I would head over to one of the other local meat and threes if I was looking for lunch. The made to order salads are a nice option though and not something the other M&3's offer.

Great place for a quick family meal. Dine in or take out. Healthy and delicious. And our kids love it too!

We really liked the big salads, they are made fresh and seem like something you would get at some of the more trendy places in Nashville. Sandwiches and soups we have tried were very good too. The southern stuff has not appealed to us. It is laid out cafateria style, and has always looked a bit un-appetizing.
