I stopped in here while visiting in Franklin. The inside is clean and presentable. Our party went to the downstairs bar. There is an upstairs and a giant patio too. Upstairs is the game room; pool tables and darts. Inside, there are old oak draw-leaf tables. I have one that I bought at auction a long time ago. They are from England and referred to as "pub" tables. Why am I talking about this? These cool tables exemplify the perfect interior of this place. Lots of wood, a few neon-lighted signs. Great waitstaff, cold drinks, and tasty appetizers. Would I go back? You betcha!

My fiancé got the southwestern burger (amazing!) and I got the chicken tenders with buffalo sauce, so good! Good atmosphere and the band that was playing the night we went were really good!

We eat there at least once every other week, always outside. The basement is to dark and small. The burger is always great, especially if you get it with a fried egg. Very juicy and tasty. It would be the best burger in Tennessee if the bun matched the tasty burger. The home made chips are great as is the service.

Another favorite of ours in Franklin. Shepherd's Pie is very good. And the cheeseburger is one of the best around - not fancy, just good. And for a Guiness or Black and Tan - no place better. Especially love sitting outside for music on the patio, as we did this evening. Pool table also makes it a fun place to hang out for a while with friends.

Fantastic burgers and fish and chips. Wait staff super nice and just a perfect English pub atmosphere. Will be back!

It had been a few months since I had been, but I recently went to the Pig to enjoy their delicious BLT, a cold beer and some good music. Well not only did they update the menu, but they no longer serve the BLT. When asked to see a manager to inquire about the change, the manager never showed up. Sad. I wanted to let them know it was missed and to ask to bring it back! (The table next to us agreed!!) In addition, the Shepard's pie I had was horrible and way too salty. My friend had a chicken salad and tomato and later got really sick...and the waitress never asked if we wanted another beer or any dessert just brought us the tab. I'm really disappointed in the changes as I used to really enjoy the Pig in the summer. Now I'll have to find a new place as apparently the Pig isn't interested in repeat customers. Sad. What happened to you Bunganut!?!

Fish n Chips are good, crisp and flavorful and hearty in size. Server is really nice too. Also had the fried pickles (which I am a sucker for so no complaints here) and fried twinkies which weren't as good as I expected it to be. I think it needs ice cream or something to add some more pizzaz to it. Kind of cool atmosphere since you have to walk downstairs to enter, definitely originally thought it was a smokehouse based off the smokey smell when we parked in the lot, but wasn't disappointed in a quick, easy lunch.

Service sucks!! It's a bar that was overwhelmed on a Friday. They need to consider staffing!

Best burger in middle Tennessee. Pretty bold statement, huh? I ordered a 24/7, which has a half pound of pure angus beef, applewood bacon, cheddar and a fried egg. The burger is slightly smoky from a light char. My medium-cooked burger is impossibly perfect light pink the color of Himalayan salt blocks. The bun is soft and chewy-fresh, able to hold it all together - but I never put it down. No condiments needed or wanted - would you put ketchup on a Morton's filet??? A huge mound of beer-battered onion rings. I couldn't eat them all. Atmosphere is really cozy. Busy but not frantic, casual but you can talk across the table. Outside seating will be nice on a warm summer night. Live music was good and not overpowering.

I just tried this place for the first time last week. The patio was absolutely adorable, I wish that we would have gotten to sit out there but it was full so we sat inside. It was your typical bar inside. They were about to have live music as we were leaving. I ordered the Southwest burger, it was really good. Everyone that I was with got burgers, and we were all pleased with the meals. Service was a little slow, but our server was very nice. I would come here again.

The Bunganut Pig in Franklin is one of my very favorite spots in Franklin and Nashville to hang out and get great burgers, drinks, play pool, or best of all, catch some great Live Music. The outdoor seating on the Patio is fantastic for the warm months with great music and food/drinks under the setting sun. It's my home away from home, and the warm and friendly staff has always treated me like family. Franklin's restaurant/bar scene has been growing since I moved here 14 years ago, but I still choose the Pig on my nights out more than any other spot by far. If you're looking for just a really great comfortable pub with yummy food/drinks and fun fun live entertainment you can dance to, The Bunganut Pig is the place.

Food just so so. Friendly service just expensive for what you get. Mashed potatoes really good but philly cheese steak expensive and small. Great atmosphere just over priced.

The three stars say it all: It was okay. Service was okay - our party of six was told three times by two different servers that we could sit anywhere we wanted and someone would be right with us. We chose to sit outside, but it was awhile before anyone came to wait on us, and it was neither of the servers who had instructed us before (rather pointedly, I might add). Once the ball got rolling, it was, as I mentioned, okay. - The food was okay. I got the mango jalapeño bratwurst. I wasn't bowled over but I wasn't disgusted. It's just your basic pub grub... a couple notches above Chili's. - The atmosphere was more than okay... I would have loved to have been there a little later to hear the live music and have a drink. In fact, I think I'd even come back to check that scene out if I ever find myself in Franklin again. I imagine it's a whole different game in the evening.

Great burgers! The Alpine or 24/7 burgers are the way to go! Awesome place to go for great live music, fun atmosphere and friendly attentive staff!

Gnarly interior and exterior. Reminds me of college dive bars. Food is not as cheap but not expensive either. Portions are pretty generous. Beers very limited as Adam V. mentioned. We arrived after 2pm on a Sunday. When I waited tables, this was my favorite time on Sunday to wait tables. The late waking smokers would come in and nurse their Wild Turkeys on ice, eat lots of meat with leisure and tip me fantastic. Today, at this time of the day, the BP was completely empty except for my little family of four. The servers were busy with cleaning and their side work and the place felt hollow. Redolent of PineSol. Cold and damp. Environs were skank. The music was not cool. I didn't get any sense of English pub at all. Unless grubby, hangover, unshowered ash tray is that feeling, in which case, success! I don't generally pay much attention to the surrounds when I'm in search of great food but so much has been said about the cool pub vibe that I admit I'm probably overreacting. Having said that, we did have good food so who cares about the surroundings and it mattered not a whit in my rating. Now the food highlights: We ordered two burgers -- mid rare. They were very very good. Perfectly cooked. Thick, loosely packed. The buns were soft and tasty. The set up with packets of mayo and mustard raised my eyebrow--huh? A bit pricey for fast food packets of condiments. The curly fries were meh. Bland. Could use some personality in a seasoning.... The shepard's pie -- a sorry sight. Presentation was terrible. But, tasty. Homey and filling. I would pick the burgers here over Burger Up any day. We decided to keep BP on our list of go-to eateries in Franklin when we hanker for good burgers.

Finally getting around to checking out this establishment which was on my local bucket list. Husband and I came on a Wednesday night during Nashville Originals Restaurant Week. This place definitely has the English pub vibe going on. Great atmosphere. Pool and darts upstairs, live music downstairs. And a nice patio and corn hole for when the weather is nice. Don't come here for the food. Come here to hang out and have a drink, play some pool, or listen to the music. They have standard pub fare plus the English pub favs-shephard's pie, fish and chips, etc, plus a few unique items and nicer entrees like filet. The food was good (I got a patty melt, my husband the shepherd's pie), but nothing to rave about. Of course this is a pub so I wasn't expecting 5 star cuisine. Service was good on our visit. Overall, this is a solid place to come hang out on a Friday or Saturday night with friends. Food is the afterthought here. We'll probably come back when it's patio weather!

Shepherd's Pie & Guinness One of my friends and I were looking for a cool place in Franklin to hang out and grab a bite to eat. This place has a cool English pub atmosphere. They have live music several times a week. The schedule is on their website. We enjoyed the little bit of music we got to hear before leaving for the airport. I started with Guinness and fried mushrooms. The fried mushrooms were fantastic and Guinness is always a great idea! I was super excited when I saw Shepherd's Pie on the menu so I had to have it for dinner. It was good, not the best I've had but good. It had melted cheddar on top which was different. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

Bunganut Pig is an interesting place, cool English pub atmosphere with a good menu. My wife an I live on the east side of Franklin and so it was a little bit of a drive to check this place out. I was immediately excited to sample something on the menu just based on the traditional English selections. I went with the Shepard's Pie. It was ok. I give them marks for just having it available, but I've definitely had better. The cheese and seasoning were a bit much. I don't think I've ever had that dish covered in yellow cheddar before. It was good, just not great. The beer list was a major disappointment. They at least had Guinness, but they are missing an opportunity to have some great craft beers available. They have none. I almost laughed when the new, feature beer was....wait for it. Corona. This place has a lot of potential. It appears to have an excellent patio/outdoor area. That could be a blast on a nice day. They also have a solid menu. However, the dish I had seemed like it was prepared by someone following a recipe (rather than someone that truly knows how to make it). I hear the burgers are excellent though. I may go that route next time. My recommendation would be to try this place when it's nice outside. Enjoy the day and have a beer. If you get hungry, the menu is decent.

Bunganut is a great little space in a quirky little basement of a strangle little office/retail court. The atmosphere is very cool and during lunch has a reasonable family atmosphere. They advertise the "best burger in Franklin - guaranteed" so we decided to give that a shot. To the proprietors, I made suggest a few improvements to their burger, which might help it to go from a reasonable solid, but overpriced burger, to "the best burger in Franklin." First, start with a sturdy bun, not the the bunny white bread bun you currently serve it on. For a juicy burger, the bun quickly became mush. Second, use a solid, strongly flavored cheese such as a quality cheddar, gouda, or horseradish cheese. Some more pepper on the meat might help to set it apart. When preparing a bacon burger, use a good, thick cut bacon instead of the precooked microwave bacon that we were served. If not Benton's, another thick cut smoked bacon would be a big improvement. So for $10+ I got a reasonably decent burger, but not as good as a number of other local places, including McCreary's, Burger Up, Corner Pub, or Mack and Kate's (which may be the best yet).

The wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. Jackie, our server, was great! The kitchen had a few mishaps early on, but finished strong by delivering a perfectly cooked burger. The good happy hour deals made the wait for food enjoyable. If you are near downtown Franklin looking for a good burger be sure to stop in here and give the All-American burger a try. Be sure to ask them (not in front of young or easily offended ears), where the name comes from.

Best burgers around! Seriously they're great. Love the vibe of this pub and the variety of live music. Also a great place to watch football & Futbol!

Just had lunch here after visiting the Lotz house. It was nice to be able to sit outside on a beautiful day. I was not impressed by the food. In fact it was disappointing. I ordered the fried bologna that was highly recommended by the waitress and a side salad. The salad consisted of mixed greens and diced tomatoes, nothing else. The fried bologna came with cheese, crackers, mustard, jalapeños and barbecue sauce. The cheese was a processed cheese that was warm and limp. It looked liked velveeta. The crackers were all in little packets as was the mustard. The Bologna itself was good but need to provide a better cheese and better crackers. Most of the cracker packets had been smashed and the crackers were broken. I most likely won't return.

Well worth a trip- if it's beef it's good here. Burger is great, but the filet is one of the best I've had, largely because they know how to cook it. If you order medium rare- it will be that way. Not a formal place, decor could use some help, kinda a cross between British pub and dive bar, but food is solid and it it is equally friendly for families and those out for a casual drink.

FOOD: Pretty darn good. Had the Angus burger which was pretty good but not the best ever as they guarantee. My wife had a chicken salad wrap which she said was fantastic. SERVICE: Not so good. Waitstaff did not engage with customers. All business with no personality. No acknowledgement when we came in. No "thank you have a nice day" when we left. VALUE: Meh. Not bad.

Ordered two burgers to go. Medium-well. They were UNCOOKED inside - raw meat! Look at the pictures. $22.00 we live 8 miles away!!! I put them on aluminum foil and baked them - but then they were dry. and they tasted like charcoal anyway! Terrible!

We all have preference for burgers, buns and fries. I enjoy Five Guys, Pharmacy, Smash Burger... not so much a fan of Burger Up or Burger Republic. That said, setting aside any "ambiance" (there isn't any), Bungunat Pig has the best burger in the area imho. Delicious and generous portion of ground sirloin with a perfect "charcoal" taste. I do not recommend eating in the basement or inside (needs a very thorough cleaning and truly some updating; "divey" is almost an understatement) but for a nice outside eatery, it's simple and one of the best burgers I've had.

I recently went to the Bunganut Pig for a live show. It is a great place to listen to live music, very intimate. We honestly did not eat but the food smelt delicious and everyone around us was very complimentary. I would recommend this place for locals and tourists alike.

Came here on a afternoon with the family. Great place! The restaurant is below street level, and there is additional seating upstairs and outside. Walking down into the restaurant you get a classic town pub feel from the place. They even have quiz nights! There's a dart board and a small place set up for acoustic guitar. Would be a great place for music. Their Black and Tan was excellent. They offered everything I would expect for pub grub; shepherds pie, burgers, sliders, beef tips, fish and chips, and they even have Ahi tuna and Cod selections. I had the shepherds pie and stuffed mushrooms. They cheese layer on top of the pie was different, but I think it locked the heat in the pie and it was very good. If you're in the area this place is worth a visit. If you do the Lotz house tour, you can get 10% off if you bring a flyer.

I get asked to lunch here every few weeks. It seems to be a favorite of some of my business friends. I have real up and down experiences. I've had a few good servers; few bad. I've had some good meals; some not. Consistency is what I look for in a restaurant, and Bunganut Pig lacks that -- at least at lunch. It's a relaxed, pub-style atmosphere and they have a lot of live music at night, but it's not where I like to go for a business lunch.

I've read all the reviews on the "Pig" and most seem fairly honest and accurate, if not mixed from one extreme to the other. Management would do well to stabilize some of the problems mentioned by others and would be an easy fix - i.e. "spotty service", "inconsistent food", and "cleanliness". Both the ribeye and the filet mignon are excellent. Believe it or not, some of the best steaks I've had in a long while. The loaded baked potato on the side was as good as you would expect, the snap beans (separate order) were also good, but at $27 per steak a little salad on the side would have been nice, if not expected. Lava cake for dessert was a little too rich, even for my sweetness addiction. A post-dinner trip downstairs for some live music is a totally different scenario. It's a little cramped and "dingy" (which is OK for a bar scene, not for dinner). There were a few people eating but I can't really enjoy a meal in a dark, noisy environment. Cover charge is $5 for pretty good music, usually rock 'n roll. Expect it to be a little loud in there between the band and a few patrons "feelin' the music". Draft beer is $5 and well drinks are $7 and served in a small rocks glass. I'm not a heavy drinker but at $7/pop my gin & tonics can add up rather quickly. The key to service in the bar is to just "grab" a server as they fly by but you have to be quick. Lunch is a totally different scenario. Haven't had their "famous" hamburger yet because I can't seem to get off their fantastic Monte Cristo. Service is great for lunch - does not seem to have the inconsistency the night crowd has. If you've never been to the Bunganut, you might want to try lunch first. It's got it's quirks overall, especially at night, but 3/5 stars might be an accurate score.

Been in here a few times and love it! The food isn't really anything to write home about (except the curly fries), but the atmosphere and staff make up for that and then some. Each time I've been Ian has been behind the bar and is phenomenal. Everyone is very friendly and it's a laid back kind of place. Will definitely be a regular.

Ate here recently, as I hadn't been in over 20 years since my high school buddies used to wash dishes here! (Pretty sure they are no longer working the kitchen...) I also remember they were one of the first places in Franklin to have curly fries. I guess since nowadays you can get those at Jack-In-The-Box that is no longer a competitive advantage... Know it is a unique and somewhat trendy Franklin hangout and I always forget about this spot when planning to eat, so thought I'd take my wife & daughter here for a meal. Summary: Decent food and atmosphere, but unless you're just wanting to hang you can get a lot better food for what they are charging. $70 for an app, a couple burgers & beers, and a kid's meal? Really? I can't remember a single detail about the meal that stood out, or that would draw me back - Just the high price and lack of value. Oh, and the service was also pretty slow... That also stands out. Nice reminiscing, but I won't be planning a return trip for a meal, although drinks, apps, and some live music is a possibility. For a meal: 2 stars, better off elsewhere For a hangout: 3 or 4 stars maybe... Depending how cool & trendy this place makes you feel while sitting here. Alas, if only they could hang on to those old school prices it would help... A pig wearing a derby hat is still a pig.

A lot of Franklin locals really like this place, and I have always had a pretty good time here. I can't say I've had a ton of the food, but it's good bar food, nothing special, with more dinners than the average place. Drinks are always good, but I mostly have had cold beer here. Also witnessed one of my drunk friends pinch a biker dude's girlfriends' a^^ one time by the bathroom and got myself into one of the closest calls a la bar brawl ever. This alone took my rating up a star. It is not a bar fight kind of place, however, so don't hold that against them. I've always gone to see some of my Franklin friends and live music. Music has always been pretty good. Can be tight downstairs, and be careful of the "don't I know you from somewhere" local girls. They can be hungry if you are single and fresh blood. The outside patio is great, weather permitting! I would guess a lot of local folks call this "their" bar for good reason!

We enjoy the pig. We almost love the pig. If I'm craving a good ol' burger - then I love the pig! You head down a staircase to a dark little landing and think to yourself, "What if I drink too much and fall down?" - but I never have. I often wonder how in this day and age a restaurant could be so handicap-inaccessible, but I guess they've always been there. I can remember eating at The Pig in 1991 for Shepherd's Pie with a bunch of hot air balloon pilots. That's before I had tried the burger. You feel like you're in an English pub, but they also have four TVs hung around the main dining room so if you're in the mood to watch the Olympics on a Saturday afternoon... you're in luck. It's not huge, and by the time we left every booth and table except for one high top was full at like 1 pm on a hot Saturday. A few insane people were eating at the patio tables up top - OK, I'm sorry. It was hot. If I was a server there, I'd have to just tell me no, can't do that. A few times we have been here when there was live music, and sometimes it seemed too loud and too close, others it was fine. I can't speak to the full menu, and we don't play pool, but if you want a great bacon cheeseburger for $8.95 any day of the week, head on down. You won't be disappointed.

I'll preface this review with this: I haven't had much of their food. I've only had fried bar food (mushrooms, pickles), and they were ok but a tad greasy. What I do like about this place is that it's not far from where I live (and let's face it, there aren't many pool halls in Franklin), they have free pool from 4-6 most days, and they have a pretty darn good happy hour. $3 martinis, come on! And now that it's non-smoking inside, we find ourselves hitting this place up for some pool and drinkies on Fridays. I know they have live music downstairs on the weekends, and I know it gets very crowded. If you want to see a live act there, make a reservation! If not you'll be waiting a long time or standing around elbow-to-elbow with the others who didn't make reservations. They also have a really cool patio area that fills up on weekends. The service can be a bit spotty sometimes, but we've never had a bad experience. All in all we'll certainly come back for the pool & drinks happy hour!

GREAT burgers! On Mother's Day my husband would have taken me anyplace I chose and I picked Bunganut...just wanted a good fired burger. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but the bartender is friendly and the beer is good so the wait is not so bad. Cigarette smoke bothers me so it's nice to find a fun place where I can go have a beer and breathe at the same time.

Great pub environment! Best in Franklin for sure. They advertise a sign down by the road stating "best burger in town, guaranteed". I had to come and find out if it was the best burger in town! It's made with a thick patty of Angus beef. It looks like nothing to special. But It's pretty darn good I must say! The curly fries were not good at all... I just have to be honest. They were deferentially frozen and cooked. The seasoning that was used might have been Lowery's seasoning. Good for a BBQ at home in the summer, but not for a place that advertises the best burger in town : ). If you are into playing pool, this is the place for you! Free games as long as your buying drinks or eating. Fun place for the weekend! Open space to kick back with your friends. This establishment has a basement pub with tables and the real pub feel. Upstairs is more open and it has pool tables and large TV's with sports playing. There also a covered outdoor area for smoking if that pertains to you. Its covered with a plastics sheen so you stay warm if its cold out. (which it was when I was there) Overall this place was very nice. I enjoyed myself for sure!

This is a great place with a lot of different spaces depending on the mood you are in. They have a full menu and the food is good. Burgers are awesome and the drinks are better than you would get at a chain restaurant. You can choose to play pool or listen to music and the staff has always been prompt and friendly. If you go downswtairs to dance when they have a band the crowd is usualy on the older side and they are always having a blast and dancing away ...

Great first impression, a fantastic location and a perfect space for an British-themed pub. Too bad the food and the service ruined it. Went there for dinner with my parents, party of four. We were seated promptly (my folks made a reservation) and the problems presented themselves almost immediately afterward. We ordered Diet RC and it was watery. I brought this up to our server and she reprimanded me sternly saying "That's the way RC is supposed to taste." Well, if that's the way it's supposed to taste, quit being cheap and stock up on real soft drinks, like Coke or Pepsi. Then we ordered. I had fish & chips with steak fries, and it looked absolutely disgusting. Three tiny chunks of pale, unappetizing fish and some greasy, disgusting strips of potato. With zero plate appeal, I hoped they would fare better on my palate but no such luck. They were absolutely flavorless. I've had better fish & chips experiences from a bag of Mrs. Paul's fish sticks and Ore Ida potato wedges. No kidding. This wasn't even a school-lunch-quality entree. I had to practically flag a server down for a request for some Malt Vinegar to drown the potatoes in, just to make them edible. In a British-themed pub, one shouldn't have to ask for Malt Vinegar, it should already be on the table with the salt & pepper and other condiments. My mom ordered the Shepherd's Pie and shared a few bites with me. It had a lot more plate appeal, but was only slightly less bland. The ingredients looked cheap and the green beans were obviously from frozen. Nowhere near a value for our dinner dollar even at the reasonable price of $9.95. I choked down this insult of a meal politely because I didn't want to offend my parents, who generously invited us out and picked the place. We had a great time because of the great company, but we will not be going back there unless Chef Gordon Ramsay puts the Bunganut Pig on Kitchen Nightmares and improves the product greatly. Easily one of the top 5 worst meals I've ever had in a restaurant.

came here st. party's day for a change of scenery.. nice place.. love the quieter atmosphere of upstairs bar/pool room.. like how the pool/darts area is "seperated" from the bar area.. Ian, the bartender was awesome..!! great service..!! only complaint is - not enough beers on draft, maybe larger/domestic selection.. and "one horse town" bathrooms, only 3 of them.. wish i could have tasted the burger, but got there after kitchen closed at 10pm..

We had no expectations and none were met. A quick in and out while waiting for our Carter House tour across the road. Dirty tables/two rushed off their feet servers, one of whom was good, the other was not (our server). We ate bacon cheese fries, for a fast snack, took over 20 mins to come as did our beer and wine. Never had bacon cheese fries before and probably will never again but they were disgracefully tasty.....Outside patio dining could be nice but it was too cold last week.

So, I have sat here for a while trying to figure out how to best start this review. I have such mixed emotions about this place. I had been here almost a year ago. The food and the service were both good last time - but, its so damn far from where I live it makes coming here often pretty impractical. This past Saturday night - I thought about the restaurant. I wasn't doing much at the time so, I got my roomie and he and I drove 30 minutes to eat at this cool Restaurant/Pub. We walked in and stood there for about 5 minutes or so. There were plenty of empty tables in the place (which, if you've never been - the restaurant downstairs is very small) and lots of employees walking around - none of which spoke to us. We waited for about 5 minutes and finally someone came to seat us. Except - she was trying to NOT seat us. She asked if we were there for the music. I told her no, we had just wanted to get some dinner. She then said that it might be best if we went upstairs to the bar, then, because they had the tables downstairs reserved for an 8pm show. It was just now 7pm. I asked was there no way we could be seated down here? She relented (but didn't seem happy about it) and gave us a table that was reserved at 8:15. I guess I didn't understand that why they needed to keep the tables empty for an hour + ? I mean - restaurants have reservations all the time, right? Why try to get me to go upstairs to the bar area? I mean - I know she had no idea where I came from - but I drove 30 minutes just to eat here in this area. I don't know - just rubbed me the wrong way. Then we get seated and it took a full 20 minutes before someone came over to even get our drink order. We were JUST about to get up and walk out when the server finally came by to get our order. I stayed longer than I normally would have - but, we drove 30 minutes and I wasn't looking forward to turning around and driving back. But, from there - once we actually GOT our order placed - things improved. My drink was refilled a couple times, the food was hot and fresh. All in all - pretty good. My roomie and I both got the burger. I asked for bacon on mine and she said it already came with bacon. Which, was news to me since the cheeseburger only indicates it comes with cheese on it. Whatever - that was fine. But maybe they should call it a bacon-cheeseburger instead of just a cheeseburger...? The fries were OK. Again, the food was decent (although the menu is incorrect), the hostess rubbed me the wrong way and the service couldn't have been slower. So, for those reasons - I'm giving it 2 stars. I've had better, for sure. Maybe you'll have better luck if you stop in on the Pig.

$42 for 3 beers, a subpar burger, a BLT that consisted of a wad microwave bacon and little else, and steak fries so old and grease laden we thought they were sweet potato wedges at first....and to top it off a rude server. Good times!!

10 years ago I used to live in Franklin, TN. There were only 2 bars worth going to. One was the bar closest to my house that I was warned against because it was "black". I will say the record skipped the first time I entered but they were cool after that. The other was The Bunganut Pig. Psuedo Irish pub. I don't think they had Guinness at all times. They did have Killian's Red. Ha. They had bands in there but they were usually cover bands. Never ate there. Pretty nice folk who ran the place.

I used to come here semi-regularly when I lived behind it and could just walk up the hill. Quit coming when I moved (less than a mile away) because of the indoor smoking, semi-decent food, and lackluster service. Well, times have barely changed. The bf and I have been revisiting some old standbys recently, so we decided to try out the Pig again... The biggest change - the Pig is non-smoking now. Great! Service was friendly when we walked in, but pretty lame after that. There was a party having a birthday celebration and they had a spill that took the attention of our server for a while, and that's fine, but we never got it back. I ordered a caesar salad (dressing on the side) and the chicken biscuits. The bf ordered chicken tenders and curly fries. 30 minutes later we received a caesar salad SWIMMING in dressing and the greasiest croutons i've ever seen, and three small kaiser rolls (in what world are these biscuits?!) covered in butter with a chicken breast cut in pieces.. one of which was so fatty and tendon-y it was inedible. The bf's tenders were hot, decent, and kinda small, and the fries were cold - not even lukewarm. Did we complain? No.. we were hungry and I really didn't think it would have made a bit of difference. I put my salad on my rolls and ate the two that were decent. Drank my black and tan (which, I'll admit, they didn't charge me for), and we GTFO. This place has SOO much potential. It's in a great location, it's pretty cool inside, lots of TVs, billiards upstairs. Decent bar (wish they had a few more interesting beer choices)... but I doubt I'll return anytime soon. And I get the feeling the people working don't care if I do.

We were given a 10% off coupon by the Lotz House (be sure to go there too!) so we thought we'd give it a try. We hit it during an off-time (around 2:00 pm on a Wednesday) so it wasn't busy at all. I'm glad - I don't really like the loud pub scene so if that's your thing, come in the evening or on a weekend. Although I'd be willing to come listen to live music sometime, they have that too. If not, off-times are great. Our server (Lindsay) was awesome - she laughed at all my dad's jokes. She kept our soft drinks filled and made sure we were happy. The food was GREAT. My mom got fish & chips, which actually weren't great - just okay - but my dad and I got the shepherd's pie, which was the best I've ever had (not that I've had a lot, but I've been to a few decent English restaurants). Loved it! I'd go back just for that.

Beer, fish & chips and a pig in a hat. What else could you want?! Nice outdoor area with Cornhole (not what you think) Live music, pool tables, darts and fun. Try the fish!

Bunganut Pig may have a strange name, but they have good pub food and a good band atmosphere. I think they strive for an english pub type motif - but its more of a neighborhood pub. Their sandwhiches are good, the beer is cold, and the bands rock most nights. My only complaint is how freakin smoky it is. (boo!)

This is good. They have live music which gives it extra credit. Mainly bar food but very tasty. Give it a try!

I should probably give this place a second chance at some point down the road, but for right now this is my review. And this is just how it's gonna be. I mean with the title, "Pig," I thought this would have excellent BBQ. I guess I could go back to try that... maybe... probably not... but maybe. I ventured here for my friend's 30th birthday party combined with New Year's Eve party with an 80s theme (although, humourously... or not so... no one except the birthday girl and her two sisters actually decked out in 80s theme gear... maybe New Year's Eve 2011 wasn't such a good plan to relive the 80s... just sayin'). The place is small and off the beaten path. The service was not at all timely or anywhere close to decent (and we were definitely the only party there at 8:00pm when we arrived and the largest party there for the entire evening. So... to forget our drinks and forget our food... not a good move). In fact, I ordered a water at 8:30pm *yesterday* and at 4:48pm today (granted I'm home now) I'm still waiting on that water. I tasted some of the potato wedges and they were ridiculously salty... to the point of inedible. I also tasted someone else's potato skins... also salty. Look, you're a bar and unless you're a nice bar like Virago or The Patterson House, then I don't expect much in terms of good food. So, the fact that you couldn't even exceed my extremely low expectations is a bit sad. There are better bars in Franklin like The Red Pony with better food and better service and a wider selection of choices. I'd just steer clear of this schlop.

What great food, the ribeye was the most juicy and delicious I've ever had and the Shepherds pie was perfect, both were seasoned just right with their in house seasoning mix. We had the nicest waiter named Eddie and we really enjoyed everything, can't wait to go back, just delicious and worth the trip!

We went here on a recent visit to the area and we really enjoyed eating outside at this place. The waitress was very nice and she also made a really good margarita. My salad was big and the fish sandwich was really good. Love the location. It is across the street from The Carter House where was had a very informative tour.

This is my neighborhood bar, its literally in my back yard. That being said I visit it 3 times a month tops. Draft types are limited upstairs (Only place I ever go... Went downstairs once... never again) They do have a Sam Seasonal on tap which is good since I'm from Boston. The food is ok pub food. I stick to the chicken fingers since I don't eat red meat. However my friends say its easily the best burger in town. Their sides however suck. Best option is onion rings, not a fan of the potato wedges. There always seems to be more staff then customers, but again I go on off nights. Weekends I can hear the live music from porch, sounds good most of the time.
