Morningstar Caffeine and Cuisine

If you're looking for your morning cup of coffee in Stevensville, this is the place to go. Coffee was strong and bold and the vanilla latte got my day started off right. Plus, they include a chocolate covered espresso bean on the top of your cup, just for fun! Definitely will be my early morning stop for my dose of caffeine when I'm in the area.
Found it impeccable. Tea was excellent. Food looks fantastic. Gluten free options for $1 more. I will post the menu. Interior tastefully decorated. Old-town timey, upbeat, not grimey. Not sullen either. Flowers adorn the wall sconces. Wifi. Not a yuppie place either. A good mix of the locals. Carpet is in good shape and tasteful. Service seems prompt and personable. Easy parking out front, slanted on the street. Walk over the sidewalk to the inset front enterance. There is a kind of buffet in the middle, modest and not understocked. Hope, is written in cursive across the center pillar. Beautiful, artwork on the walls. A small family enjoys breakfast. Timeless fun. You'll enjoy it. Serves City Brew roasts, Missoula Evening and other teas.
Great soup (white chili) and the sandwiches all wonderful. Good salad bar , pricing reasonable. But very noisy.

This is the second time I've been here in a week and tomorrow I'm coming for brunch. Excellent service. Angie remembered me and made me feel right at home. The food is outstanding! Tomato basil soup was creamy and delicious. Cesar Salad was crisp with just the right balance of dressing, croutons, and shaved parmesan. The mushroom risotto with grilled asparagus and squash is to die for.
Angie and crew are wonderful. They provide wonderful customer service.. They provided a rehearsal dinner for us and were eay to deal with and purveyors of delicious food.
We were fortunate that their sign caught our eye. We stopped in on a Sunday right before close. The staff was friendly and the place is very cozy and unique. The quiche and pastries were legit. It has an interesting menu that we are looking forward to trying. It is worth a stop.

The Fettucinni Alfredo was made from scratch, and simply amazing. The staff is always friendly. I eat there once a week! Fresh and Fast!
Terrific food. Three in party. Two chick/Parms and one Italian Feast. Outstanding. Tomato-basil soup was very tasty also. Tomato sauce very tasty with nice chunks of tomato. Bread sticks were delicious although slightly salty. Tiramisu was disappointing; overly sweet and not creamy enough. Overall Romeo's was a gastronomic delight! Sweet waitress too. Recommend highly. Go there!
Great soups, pastas and service! Great dining experience! Highly recommended!

Easily 5 stars!!! This isn't just a restaurant it's an epicurean adventure!!!! First you select your entrée and appetizer, as you stand at the chefs window, so he can answer any questions . Next you choose what type of bread you want from small gourmet loaves, French bread twists and three types of focaccia. Then you pass the wine selection where the waitress, who was very wine savvy, helps you choose the perfect bottle! Then it's on to your table in the lovely dining room. Once seated you inform your server of the choices you have made for your meal. The wine was tasted and it was a nice smooth Italian red as described. We chose the spinach and mushroom stuffed Gnocchi in Marssla cream and the lamb tortellini. Both were fantastic! Our bread choices were the French twists and Kalamata olive focaccia. Really great bread! I had a lovely Italian salad and everyone else had seafood bisque. The entrées we chose were calamari, veal and the chefs sampler. All entrées were served with a choice of pasta side and green beans! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Right Down to the green beans!!! We ended our meal by sharing a fruit tart and the most amazing tiramisu any of us had ever tasted!! The service was very attentive and wonderful! Our server was the daughter of the owner/chef. She was delightful as she explained, as we raved, that most of the recipes were her Grandmother's recipes!! If you're ever in the Bitterroot Valley and you want one of the best Italian dining experiences make a reservation at Marie's!!!
Fabulous food! I love Italian and while I've been to many Italian restaurants in missoula and surrounding areas I keep returning to Maries...it's my #1. It's small and dated decor, service has been nothing to shout about (but far from rude), but the food is fantastic. Will keep choosing Marie's for my Italian fix.
We love Marie's! Amazing food (and plenty of it) at a reasonable price. You walk in and greet the chef while checking out the menu posted for that day. Then you walk by the bread and wine selection before taking your seat. Be sure to save room for dessert! Always friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

This is the 4th time I have dined at Kodiak Jax in Stevensville, MT. As an international sociologist, and veteran Montanan native, I found the charasmatic atmosphere quaint and homely. Truly complementary of all Montanan Hospitality that rivals southern comfort as the food is prepared by a chipper staff right in front of you (well sort of, in a kitchen you can see in right behind the counter). The dish selection is simply outstanding, and a unique variety of combinations one would not expect to find off the beaten path in frontier town. But this 5 star diamond in the rough diner will truly amaze any who sample a fresh pie hot off the grill right as you get it- with such culinary exquistitory grilled to perfection by a delightful combination of hand tossed crust and local healthy ingredients (with others bought fresh from the local grocery store or shipped in if necessary). This little mom and pop diner is sure a thriving survivor of montana ingenuity at its finest for some outlandish good grub and a cold beer of the best Montanan droughts brewed from the cellars of your local microbreweries in not only the Bitteroot Community, but also Flathead to Glacier, Bozangeles to Billings and on to Red Lodge Montana even. Of course they have domestic if your too afraid to buck up and go Montanan and slam a Pitcher of Cold Smoke Next to a Mauler, Monster, Thai Chicken or Polar Bear pie. Elsewise than I'm sorry, but you ain't back woods enough to try this delightful delicacy that preserves the aura and sentiment of what Montanan Small Town Family-Run Valley Community Business Feeling means here in our state and that which helps make Montana and the bitteroot all of the finest, as we continue to thrive in what it is today- we often call (a quote in repeat from president to admiral) "The last best place."
We decided to take a drive and get out of Missoula for date night, and settled on pizza. The pizza was just average. The service however was put of this world. They were all super friendly and accommodating to our funky half and half order on our pizza. The building is super cute ( you have to drive through stevensville to the other side) it was also very clean. Between the parking lot and the appearance.of the building, one would think it's very small. The jokes on you. It's actually quite big on the inside with 2 dining rooms, an upstairs and outside seating. I felt like a local and loved it. I will be back in the future when I want to escape missoula.
I was throwing a party for my class and needed pizzas at 10:45am (they don't open until 11). They were so accommodating and had my pizzas ready by 10:45. Thanks, Kodiaks!

Great, honest-to-god diner for Montana. Simple, basic food. Nothing gourmet. But, great homemade soups, good pie, hilarious salad bar where everything but the lettuce comes from a can. If you want to see real Montana culture, visit about 10am on a Sunday morning after church gets out. Spurs optional.
Wonderful breakfasts. Love the classic with the dollar pancake option. The home style breakfast potatoes with onion and pepper is a nice variety. If you are here for dinner, the pasty is a great regional classic.
Couldn't have been happier to find this place. Speedy service and absolutely delicious breakfast!!

This has had its ups and downs and has leveled out to be a pretty good place to drink and eat. Full bar with lots of draft beer and a number of TVs to view. Menu is mostly hamburgers and chili and their fries are worth snacking on while deciding what else you want to eat. The building is one of the newest in Stevensville and is very clean and bright.

I was in town for a few days needed a change from the local cafe's. I read the reviews and decided to chance it. While I find the restaurant to be a very pleasant atmosphere and the service to be good, I can't recommend the food. I ordered the standard beef chimi. The rice and the beans were fair however that was the best part of the meal. The beef had little to no flavor, most places will simmer it in red sauce before making the chimi. This was more like my grandmas roast beef, and not the good stuff either, you know the roast she'd make in a crockpot. I really was hoping for something more authentic. The good news is that they seem to be paying attention to the reviews as the salsa had no hint of oregano and the service was almost too fast. Take a chance if you must but know what to expect.
Okay, so the food was less than mediocre and the service was absolutely terrible. Probably the worst I have ever encountered in my life...that is saying a lot considering I just moved here from the DC area. Our server really hated working there that day probably because the party I was with was quite large (9 of us...no small children). Took over ten minutes to get our drink order another for our food order all the while rolling her eyes and heavily sighing because we weren't ordering quick enough...refills? Forget about it. She straight up told my son no to a water refill not realising I heard her. Never brought refills when we asked. If I hadn't been there with my brother and his family, I would have walked out. I will never eat there again. That place is a joke.
Stop using Mediterranean oregano in your food. Just stop it. Right now. Your salsa tasted like Prego and that's just not right at all. I ordered the menudo because even canned menudo is half decent. I actually liked my menudo, but the jar of dried oregano that was dumped out onto a dish and served with my soup was perplexing. It was literally enough to fill a spice jar. The rest of my group got cheese on a plate. I couldn't really see much else so I don't know what they ordered, but they weren't impressed. I strongly suggest that you stop using canned tomatoes and make a simple salsa fresca instead. People like salsa fresca. Even using Pace would be an improvement if you just want to be lazy about it.
