I was in town for a few days needed a change from the local cafe's. I read the reviews and decided to chance it. While I find the restaurant to be a very pleasant atmosphere and the service to be good, I can't recommend the food. I ordered the standard beef chimi. The rice and the beans were fair however that was the best part of the meal. The beef had little to no flavor, most places will simmer it in red sauce before making the chimi. This was more like my grandmas roast beef, and not the good stuff either, you know the roast she'd make in a crockpot. I really was hoping for something more authentic. The good news is that they seem to be paying attention to the reviews as the salsa had no hint of oregano and the service was almost too fast. Take a chance if you must but know what to expect.

Okay, so the food was less than mediocre and the service was absolutely terrible. Probably the worst I have ever encountered in my life...that is saying a lot considering I just moved here from the DC area. Our server really hated working there that day probably because the party I was with was quite large (9 of us...no small children). Took over ten minutes to get our drink order another for our food order all the while rolling her eyes and heavily sighing because we weren't ordering quick enough...refills? Forget about it. She straight up told my son no to a water refill not realising I heard her. Never brought refills when we asked. If I hadn't been there with my brother and his family, I would have walked out. I will never eat there again. That place is a joke.

Stop using Mediterranean oregano in your food. Just stop it. Right now. Your salsa tasted like Prego and that's just not right at all. I ordered the menudo because even canned menudo is half decent. I actually liked my menudo, but the jar of dried oregano that was dumped out onto a dish and served with my soup was perplexing. It was literally enough to fill a spice jar. The rest of my group got cheese on a plate. I couldn't really see much else so I don't know what they ordered, but they weren't impressed. I strongly suggest that you stop using canned tomatoes and make a simple salsa fresca instead. People like salsa fresca. Even using Pace would be an improvement if you just want to be lazy about it.

I've eaten here once, almost twice. The first time (about a year ago), there was no one at the front to seat me for several minutes. Given it was semi busy, I accepted that. Food wasn't that good. This time, just a couple days ago, I went back. Place was open but empty. No one at the front to seat me (again). Waited. Spoke loudly. Nothing. Noticed an employee like person sitting at a table texting. She worked there, and didn't appear to want to help, but I forced the issue by standing in front of her and asking her; she stated she "was off". She then replied, after seeming to hesitate to think about it, stating she would get her brother in law to help us. At this point, I was done dealing with this crap service. I told her I would take my money elsewhere, and I did. I live locally, but I will NEVER go to this place again, and I WILL bad mouth it every chance I get. We don't need this crap service and mediocre food in Stevensville.

The food here was only ok. If I lived here and it was my only choice for Mexican food, I'd go here on occasion. I had a soft chicken taco, rice & beans; it wasn't bad. DH had a steak-pico de gallo plate; I tasted it and the steak was so tough, I couldn't chew it. The margarita was better than the food.

The food is your typical Mexican fare. Pretty good, and huge servings. On the negative side, the service is consistently slow. The last couple of visits, the service has been so slow that I left irritated, and I'm not that tough to please!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
