This is the 4th time I have dined at Kodiak Jax in Stevensville, MT. As an international sociologist, and veteran Montanan native, I found the charasmatic atmosphere quaint and homely. Truly complementary of all Montanan Hospitality that rivals southern comfort as the food is prepared by a chipper staff right in front of you (well sort of, in a kitchen you can see in right behind the counter). The dish selection is simply outstanding, and a unique variety of combinations one would not expect to find off the beaten path in frontier town. But this 5 star diamond in the rough diner will truly amaze any who sample a fresh pie hot off the grill right as you get it- with such culinary exquistitory grilled to perfection by a delightful combination of hand tossed crust and local healthy ingredients (with others bought fresh from the local grocery store or shipped in if necessary). This little mom and pop diner is sure a thriving survivor of montana ingenuity at its finest for some outlandish good grub and a cold beer of the best Montanan droughts brewed from the cellars of your local microbreweries in not only the Bitteroot Community, but also Flathead to Glacier, Bozangeles to Billings and on to Red Lodge Montana even. Of course they have domestic if your too afraid to buck up and go Montanan and slam a Pitcher of Cold Smoke Next to a Mauler, Monster, Thai Chicken or Polar Bear pie. Elsewise than I'm sorry, but you ain't back woods enough to try this delightful delicacy that preserves the aura and sentiment of what Montanan Small Town Family-Run Valley Community Business Feeling means here in our state and that which helps make Montana and the bitteroot all of the finest, as we continue to thrive in what it is today- we often call (a quote in repeat from president to admiral) "The last best place."

We decided to take a drive and get out of Missoula for date night, and settled on pizza. The pizza was just average. The service however was put of this world. They were all super friendly and accommodating to our funky half and half order on our pizza. The building is super cute ( you have to drive through stevensville to the other side) it was also very clean. Between the parking lot and the appearance.of the building, one would think it's very small. The jokes on you. It's actually quite big on the inside with 2 dining rooms, an upstairs and outside seating. I felt like a local and loved it. I will be back in the future when I want to escape missoula.

I was throwing a party for my class and needed pizzas at 10:45am (they don't open until 11). They were so accommodating and had my pizzas ready by 10:45. Thanks, Kodiaks!

The service was great, I think she was the only person running the whole restaurant but the food was just ok. A lot of variety that's for sure. We had a half order of chicken nachos and individual southwest thriller and taco pizzas.

Hello from Missoula, Frugal that we are, it was worth the drive in the Honda Fit to use a coupon for Pizza in the Bitterroot. We were grateful for the opportunity to see those gorgeous mountains and the area in the "Root." But, the pizza was a big hit too. Thin crust and lots of stuff on top including extra cheese. We would stop in again, even without a coupon. Well, that may be stretching it, but it was good food and a fair value. Judy H. Wright

Just okay. The main selling point for me was that this place was the only food place open in Stevi on New Years Eve. For that we are grateful. The atmosphere was perfect and rustic as it should be, but the food was just okay. The pizza had to be previously frozen. The salad was nothing but iceberg with a plastic tub of blue cheese. They could also use fries, zucchini and onion rings with the type of food they sell. It's basically snack bar food, but I guess I expected something a little better. It really could be so much better. The waitstaff were very friendly and the place is cozy.

My wife and I were looking for a place to grab a late lunch that also offered outside dinning. We remembered seeing Kodiak Jax a few weeks previously and decided to give it a shot. The menu had a large variety of pizzas (they appear to make their own dough; but not 100% certain of this.) sandwiches, salads and wraps. After settling on a pizza and a couple of Bayern Ambers, we retired to the deck to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and watch Stevi roll by. The pizza itself was very tasty, and served up by charming staff. Would definitely go back.
