A great place! Walking distance from downtown and beautiful touches like Zum bath products and coffee and homemade bread delivered to your room before breakfast downstairs.
What a wonderful weekend away! Great food, service and location. You can walk to downtown Parkville businesses. We will be back!
I really enjoyed almost every element of the Main Street Inn. For a visit to Parkville, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of B&B's. First off, we were greeted by Kathy when we arrived. She showed us around the inn, told us what time breakfast was and when bread would arrive. She gave us a run down of a couple of local spots and then left us in our very nice room. The room (The Col Parks Suite) was lovely. There were tasty sugar cookies on our bed, delicious smelling Zum bath products (including bath salts for the whirlpool tub), and soft robes to use in the closet. I liked the look of the room and the bed was comfy and the bathtub was amazing. I will say that the tv is very tiny and out--of-date, but we weren't there for the tv so that didn't bother me. Outside of the room, there was a guest lounge with a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, sodas and a few snacks. At 7:30am, we were given tasty cinnamon muffins and tea right at our door which we really enjoyed. Then at 8:30, we headed downstairs for breakfast... Sadly, this part is why I am not giving the inn a 5 star rating. So, breakfast takes place at one large dining room table at one time. This means you're sitting with the other guests of the inn and being served the same food. It's not a 'spread' or anything like that. It's two (mystery) courses pre-selected by the host. The group of four guests that was with eating with us were not the most easy to dine with, to put it kindly... Also, both my husband and I have certain foods we can't eat or choose not to eat much of and this didn't help things either. While the fruit was nice, the french toast bake was too rich for me and had strawberries in it that my husband can't eat. In retrospect, I should have informed our host of these things but, between the two of us, our list of foods that we can't have would be a novel. I'd have much preferred a small spread with choices like packaged oatmeal, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, etc. Things along the typical kinds of breakfast fair. Mostly though I would think it would be nice to have small tables for people to eat alone at and not have to mingle at breakfast with strangers. Or maybe bring the breakfast comes to your door like with the muffins? Anyway, overall, we had a very lovely and enjoyable time at the Mainstreet Inn. If you're going to be in the area and would like a nice, cozy place to stay, check it out. The house is nice and the whirlpool tubs earn a huge A+ from me. Kathy was also a very kind hostess. Parkville is a beautiful and historic place to visit and this establishment fits in nicely.

Nice local coffee house. Yummy coffee, friendly staff, fast service even when they're busy. A fun place to hang out upstairs with vintage furniture. Local artist's installations as well. Parkville has a lot to offer and PCH makes it really homey.
Parkville Coffeehouse is a nice addition to the town. The atmosphere is textbook coffeehouse down to the chalkboard menu. They don't have a large selection of syrup flavors from what I saw, but it's adequate for most customers, I'm sure. My iced caramel machiatto was good. I've had better, but not in Parkville. If you want to skip the Caribou Coffee drive thru and give your hard earned money to a local coffee place, then Parkville Coffeehouse is the place to do just that.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the Northland!

Great place! Fabulous atmosphere! Delicious food! Cant go wrong with anything on the menu! My favorite server was Rob. Very knowledgeable about the menu, quick and on point! If you get the chance to come here ask for Rob!! Great date night, family atmosphere, bar to watch the games or rent out a room, perfect for any occasion!
Saturday afternoon - Missouri game on place was hopping. Food: Maytag chips - very good. They aren't cheap with the blue cheese so if you are a blue cheese fan, you will like these. Crab Bisque - Friday and Saturdays only - excellent. Saturday $7.00 menu. Pulled pork and fries. This is the best value in town. Comes topped with onion straws ( these were a "side" themselves - large portion). There are other things on the $7.00 menu as well. Bread pudding was great. The strawberry rhubarb cobbler not so good. Soggy and mushy. Service was spot on (Justin) - no waiting around on refills - great attentive service. This place is a staple for good food. Fall and Winter I will be here every Saturday. Coke products. Restrooms were clean and well maintained.
We have tried Nick & Jake's twice now and both times we were impressed. The first time we ordered take out- the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Chicken Pot Pie. The bartender who managed our order was extremely friendly and helpful - the pulled pork was excellent and the chicken pot pie was bigger than expected, was tasty but not healthy by any means! Last weekend we tried the Sunday Brunch, the service wasn't the best (as we have found throughout Kansas City) but the brunch spread was impressive - omelete station, prime rib, a plethora of breakfast & lunch items - the only gripe being the items weren't refreshed by the time we arrived at 1pm - a few of the items were luke warm or cold. Overall worth a visit!

Wonderful atmosphere and staff. The food is comparable if not better than what we experienced in Paris.
Best French food in the KC area. Recently updated wine list complete with a full page description and picture of each wine. Ask your server for a wine pairing recommendation. This place is quaint and delicious. My favorite dish is the goat cheese salad but I've never disliked anything I've ordered. Their bread and lavender butter is AMAZING! It is owned and operated by a Frenchman and his wife is in the kitchen. We love this place, it's my birthday present each year. Definitely worth the drive. Prices are totally reasonable for the quality.
I've only been here once on a field trip with my French class, but I absolutely loved how great the food tasted and how welcoming the owner was!

Post visit hugs?! Yes, that is what received in exchange for watching the game and eating their food. A few drinks later our excited and helpful waitress suggested the queso rangoon. I would absolutely get that again. We also grabbed a fish sandwich and a Buffalo Chicken wrap. Since the wings are raved about I did choose the wrap, it was very spicy and filling. The fish sandwich was a little over done, the bun was weird and the fries were just, eh. There were other sides I'd be willing to try next time, including the sweet potato fries. After we ate our waitress sat down with us to chat, we also had no less than two visits from a man who I assume was Al. If not, the patrons are super friendly there too! We were informed that next time we have to try the sliders and the wings. I just might go back for a hug too.
Love going to Al's. Cheap beer and food and the atmosphere is always great. The staff makes you feel like you are at home. It is a great little bar that has a great thing going.
This is a small, locally owned bar and grill in what I would call Parkville, but it's listed as KC. You'll catch the owner there much of the time hanging out and talking to customers. There's several large tv's for watching sports and you can tell this place is a favorite hang out for many people. I think one of the reasons has to be his wings. Honestly, besided the sweet potato fries---it's all I've tried on his very different menu. But, let me tell you. If you like wings like I do, you're going to love Al's. Nice, hot, juicy, not overcooked or oversauced, THEY ARE PERFECT. Service is fine--not many servers, but they all seem to handle the business well and they're pleasant. I say, if you're in the area and you're looking to try something new, take some time to stop into this well-kept secret.

We had been planning an outing with two of our besties for quite some time and I had a Groupon so we agreed to meet up here on a Saturday evening. We fired that Escort up and high-tailed it for Parkville. We like going to Parkville and there are several places we have eaten at. I've eaten at the Piropo's in Briarcliff and really enjoyed the experience. This particular place is perched above part of the town and the parking lot is a bit steep but we got in and found a good place to park. The interior of Piropo's Grill is warm and inviting. We are immediately greeted and seated with our party. The menu is interesting and not overwhelming. Many people are surprised to note that Argentine food is not that different for America food. I think people just have it in their heads that if it's South of the Border, it's Mexican. The diversity of Latin American food never ceases to amaze me. If you don't like chiles, or spicy food, many Argentine dishes are made to accommodate you. Argentine plates feature rich, roasted meats. Being an unabashed carnivore, that is one of the things I love about Argentine cuisine. I passed up on the beef this time and ordered the stuffed chicken. And I was not let down but...I'm getting ahead of myself. I had a three-cheese empanada to start out and ate it with the chimichurri. Delicious! A little cheese pie with the pesto-like chimichurri sauce. Next came an avocado and tomato salad with red onions and dusted with salt, pepper and cumin and then drizzled with olive oil...absolutely orgasmic...OMG! It was too deletible! I've since tried to recreate it at home. I just love the way those fresh flavors mingled and what a change from a regular lettuce or cabbage salad. The stuffed chicken was delicious with prosciutto and cheese. Tender meat and savory stuffing. Incredible! The atmosphere here is so casual and relaxing. I enjoyed a glass of Argentine wine and their wine list is very accommodating to wine aficionados. The prices are not as high as the Briarcliff location which makes it easier on the wallet. Our server was attentive and professional and we received a vising from the manager who wanted to make sure that everything was satisfactory. It was. This is a nice place to take a date or a significant other for a special occasion or just to have a nice dinner with good friends. You can dress up or you can be casual. The view from the restaurant is also nice. We will definitely be back.
I'm shocked by the low ratings as we had a very good experience here. First off, Piropos Grille is in the charming downtown of Parkville. It's so close to KC, but feels like it's hours away (slow pace, small town feel). Although the staff was slow to greet us, the rest of our experience was very good service. You could tell they were trying very hard to please (as if maybe they read some of these bad reviews). The manager checked in on us several times, and our server was extremely attentive. We also heard several people get comped items that they weren't 100% satisfied with; thus, I think they are working hard to be a great restaurant. The complimentary grilled focaccia with garlic aioli was very good. The dinner portions are very large. I ordered the pork chop which comes with 2 whole chops. I used to think Grand Street Cafe did the best pork chop, but Piropos has them beat. It was the best pork chop of my life. It came with a buttery sauce and mounds of fried garlic. It was fabulous! My hubs enjoyed his encrusted steak too, but it was overcooked (asked for medium rare but it appeared medium). Overall, it was a very good experience with some very good food. Definitely worth visiting again!
