Nice local coffee house. Yummy coffee, friendly staff, fast service even when they're busy. A fun place to hang out upstairs with vintage furniture. Local artist's installations as well. Parkville has a lot to offer and PCH makes it really homey.

Parkville Coffeehouse is a nice addition to the town. The atmosphere is textbook coffeehouse down to the chalkboard menu. They don't have a large selection of syrup flavors from what I saw, but it's adequate for most customers, I'm sure. My iced caramel machiatto was good. I've had better, but not in Parkville. If you want to skip the Caribou Coffee drive thru and give your hard earned money to a local coffee place, then Parkville Coffeehouse is the place to do just that.

First of all, my apologies to those who were there when my friend, our kids, and I arrived on a late Thursday morning--I realize that it's hard to work or read the newspaper with two little girls climbing on chairs and pretending to be mice and rabbits. So sorry. Okay, with that out of the way, I have to say that I was happy with our trip to Parkville Coffeehouse. My lowfat vanilla latte was good; I personally like mine a little sweeter. However, the espresso is of a good quality, which goes back to freshly roasted beans and properly pulled shots. Very nice. My daughter had a very yummy hot chocolate that they made not-too-hot so that she doesn't get burned. Nice touch. We also ordered a few yummy treats to go with our drinks: chocolate chip banana muffin (it was described as pound cake but it was definitely more muffin-like) and croissant were good but didn't blow us away. I ordered a creamy spinach and feta quiche that was delicious and filling. And I finished up with a pretzel-crusted chocolate caramel brownie with sea salt (not the actual name of the treat), which was UNREAL. It's a very laid-back atmosphere with some people in the upstairs lounging on eclectic furniture, studying or having quiet conversations and people having work conversations on the main level, and the baristas are professional and very friendly. Good coffee, good food, good ambiance. I'll be back, but maybe on a mom-only outing.

I absolutely love Parkville Coffee!!! The coffee shop itself is located in beautiful Downtown Parkville, and in my opinion they're going about everything the right way. For starters, they locally roast their own beans, and every type of coffee drink I've tried here has been incredible! They also offer a variety of tasty breakfast and lunch options for people wanting to grab a bite. The coffeeshop offers two levels of seating with exposed stone walls that are decorated by works from local artists. Great service from the baristas makes the experience even better. If in the area I highly recommend making a stop.

Firstly never once have I gotten my drink before I even sat down at my table. Very impressive and will be back just for that. I will say they weren't very busy at the time so don't expect exactly what I describe when they are busy. I got chicken sandwich which was excellent. To be honest I at first wondered about why it was taking so long for a sandwich but that it was because it was super fresh, which take time. Best sandwich I have ever had from a cafe. I think my only wish would be that there were more cold drinks that didn't have coffee in them. Definately not a bad thing to have a focused menu just personal preference. Five stars for sure.

Love the coffee! However, I wish the inside had more comfortable seating. The upstairs is decorated very retro, which is cool. However, it would ideal if it had a nice, comfy spot to curl up, sip coffee, and read a book.

First time here today; will return. Good pastries and plenty of options. Opted for a delicious cinnamon bun and lavender cookie to start my day, plus a mocha. Baristas were all very friendly and had great suggestions for food in the area. This place is a great alternative to corporate coffee with a small town, neighborhood feel.

When I walked into this coffee house... it brought me back to some of the small mountain towns that made me fall in love with Colorado. It has the same feel. The street it is on is even a little steep to make you feel like you're walking up towards/down from the slopes. We came to Parkville for a festival, and this was easily my favorite part of the town. The shop is broken into a couple levels. The lower level is a typical shop. Upstairs seems good for some studying, reading or retreat. I enjoyed watching people come in and out of the lower level, and the decor in the area really made me feel cozy. The coffee itself was really delicious. It had a little design in the whip, which made me happy. I like little touches like that in smaller shops. I also liked that they didn't do anything too crazy with my drink. It was a nice beverage in a nice atmosphere. I really can't say enough how much I felt like I should be in Winter Park or Breck when I came into this place. It was really neat.

We ordered cappucino, it was good just like starbucks, service was fine too. If i would be back in oldtown parkville i will go again but its definetly not worth coming back here just for coffee, since i can get the same at starbucks.

I love when a place seems to wrap its arms around you...ok, that sounds schmatlzy and stupid, but that's how I feel in here. Yeah, it's cozy to the point of being tight downstairs, but the stone walls and lighting and friendly baristas make you feel welcome immediately, even if you're not a regular. And up the steep, narrow staircase is a retro-furnished room that reminds me of my college apartment...more warm fuzziness! The coffee's really good (and I don't hide it behind milk, sugar, flavorings...so I know), and so are all the goodies. I haven't tried the lunch stuff, but I can sure vouch for the chai tea sugar cookies!

Cutest damn coffee shop I've been to in KC area. Like Matt E. said, this place makes you feel like you are faaaaaaarrrrr from KC, and some days, that can be a great thing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee is good. They have some homespun lattes that are refreshing compared to the typical chain combinations. Plus, they have a large upstairs section complete with couches, tables, etc. Great place to hide out for a while. I only wish it was closer to my home, but then again, that would likely diminish the quaint nature of it.

Love this place. I've stopped by for some premium quality coffee and also done some work for several hours there. Service is great, coffee is really good and food -salads and sandwiches- are also an A. Plus, the building is beautiful. Try their second floor you want some quiet to read or work.

My favorite coffee house memory of all time was in Nederland, Colorado. The boyfriend and I had been camping for almost a week, and it was raining all day and we were just over sitting in the tent. We drove into the tiny little mountain town, ordered some beverages and sat in the window, watching the weather and people go by as we played scrabble for like 6 hours. Parkville Coffeehouse is the closest to that experience that I've found anywhere near the KC metro. You see, Parkville doesn't really seem like it should be a 15 minute drive from downtown. It seems like it belongs someplace in the Rockies or Ozarks. Nederland comes to mind, but so does Eureka Springs. And I love it. While this coffee shop is capital Q Quaint, that doesn't mean that it isn't sophisticated. I was in for breakfast and enjoyed their excellent options. In addition to the typical granolas and cereal fares, they offered two diffent kinds of quiches and a whole variety of frittatas. I had a killer one with spinach and sundried tomatoes. It was really an ideal breakfast. I coupled this with my go-to coffee shop drink: a skim milk sugar free vanilla latte (as I get older, the word count of my coffee order goes up). Since I was dining in, it was served in a giant Parkville Coffeehouse branded mug. I liked it, it felt good in my hands. More importantly, it tasted good in my belly. Lunch options included sandwiches of all varieties, for both carnivores and vegetarians alike. It's a small operation, to be sure, but they make great food. I would gladly come back for the food. The staff is friendly and helpful, to be sure. They are constantly cleaning the place. I like the atmosphere quite a bit, though I'd replace the metal tables with wood to feed on the mountain-town vibe. They have some REALLY impressive art hanging on the walls, but as with the nature of coffee shop art, it may be gone by the time you visit. The upstairs is super cozy too. I didn't spend a lot of time up there, but I would go up there right off the bat on my next visit. Why no 5 stars? The 1st floor is woefully underserved by electrical outlets. I had no place to plug in my laptop, and that made me sad. Sad Matt = lose a star. Other than that, this place is stellar.

Had to try after reading reviews. Yes, the chai latte is awesome. Tried the following: monkey bread - A+ chai tea cookie - solid B (A- if you really like sweet) Banana choc chip bread - A Sausage & bacon quiche - B+ spinach & feta quiche - A Cafe mocha - A Hot chai tea latte - A+ cold chai tea latte - B+ (my son's rating) Will def come again.

Small, quaint, and locally owned. I happened to be working in Parkville and was looking for a place to grab lunch. I was walking past Parkville Coffeehouse when I noticed on the sign out front that they had quiche and sandwiches. I figured I would give it a shot. When I stepped inside, the vibe was artsy and cozy. There were only a few tables and some local artwork hanging on the wall. I was promptly greeted with a friendly hello from the male behind the counter. The menu is written on a chalkboard behind the counter. Fresh breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches for lunch, soup, salads, and quiche as well as a variety of teas and coffee. I went with the $6.00 lunch combo where I got half a pepperoni and homemade mozzarella sandwich on homemade whole grain bread. It came with a bag of chips and a 12oz drink. I went with iced black tea. It was more than enough food for the price. The mozzarella on the sandwich was delicious. This is definitely a place I will frequent more often when I'm in the Parkville area.

What a local coffehouse should be. It's in historic Parkville, so its quaint and laid back. Inside the guys making your coffee are nice and helpful. The place itself is cute and quirky, it has a great upstairs with lots of character. Overall great place to meet up for coffee and conversation.

Good coffee, good coffeehouse ambiance, good people -- everything you'd want out of a coffee shop. I take my coffee black, but I've heard rave reviews about all their blended drinks. I split a cookie (yes, a cookie for breakfast) with my friend that was excellent. Love the exposed brick, the patio and the cozy set-up. I am ashamed to say I've only been here once and I'm in Parkville nearly every day. I'll be frequenting it more now that I've been. One of the most endearing qualities is that they always have fresh water out for dogs. Gotta love a business that is dog-friendly!

Woah! Needed my coffee fix on my day off of work and this place called my name. First off service is friendly and the environment is very homey and woodsy. It's great! There's a place upstairs with plenty more seating. Have two of my friends here with me and we're really enjoying our time. There needs to be more places like this around the Kansas City areas, seriously! There's a lot to choose from so everyone should definitely check this place out!

Downtown Parkville is an adorable little downtown with a few quaint antique shops, pizza restaurant, a true French cafe, small businesses and the Parkville Coffeehouse of course! The exposed brick building lends itself perfectly for this hip little local business. I mean, no matter what your political affiliation is, keep in mind that POTUS himself stopped by here on his last visit to Kansas City! Impressive! When I visited the Parkville Coffeehouse, I had a coffee mocha and my friend had a hot tea. We both realized we were hungry after a little while and then ordered the daily quiche. Pretty tasty! We stayed down on the lower level, but after seeing the fun pics of the upper level, I'm definitely going to head upstairs on my next visit! They also offer other food items such as soups and sandwiches. Since I was there early in the AM, I only had the quiche. My recommendation? Check out this quaint little coffee spot on your next visit to Downtown Parkville!

This is what I consider my local coffee shop. It's in a great location, the staff is super friendly, and there's plenty of comfortable seating to hang out in and people watching on Main Street of Parkville. Tyler's a talented roaster, always finding new coffees and blends to serve and the food is locally sourced or made. It's low-key, and a great place to get yummy coffee. The staff isn't snobbish, and they don't fret with the fancy latte art, preferring instead to focus on taste and providing a great product. If you're new to coffee, this is a great place to explore and expand your palette.

I really enjoy the atmosphere at Parkville Coffeehouse. Their staff is always friendly, they display art from various homegrown artist, and they roast their own beans. Their drinks and goodies are a nice way to start the day. My favorites include the banana almond milk smoothies and their quiches.

Delightful coffee shop in a lovely part of town! With a multitude of pastry options including a bacon and cheddar croissant! the coffee is locally roasted and they always have a few options on hand as well as the typical espresso with a few flavorful twists. when they roast the beans you can smell em throughout town and its alot like pheromones drawing you in! Great location right on main street and the seating is cool as well, they have an upstairs for those extended school or work stays and some big tables for those family events. local artists adorn the wall and the antique seating giving this small joint a very homey feel. Overall I am not super impressed I've been in about 10 times and they have forgotten my order twice and the chai along with other specialty drinks was not above par. I would recommend the pastries and a good brew.

The coffee was perfect. Not too strong and not too weak. Got the Turtle Mocha. My husband got a latte I think. Upstairs they have additional seating which is really cute. People can relax and read books or play games. Cute little coffeehouse!

Love love love love! Everything possible to make someone want to come here regularly, happened. The staff is friendly and when asked for recommendations they were quick to answer with perfect suggestions. Beyond that, the coffee was to die for. If you aren't sure, just go with the White Chocolate Mocha. It's on the sweeter side but foamy and delicious. Once we had our drinks finding a place to sit is not hard as they have upstairs seating as well. The music playing in the background is spot on with the feel of the whole joint. And the biggest plus, the bathroom was immaculate. What could be better?! I can't wait to go back!

I love meeting clients at this very personable local coffeehouse. Great coffee and a great vibe. Being upstairs always reminds me if my grandmothers living room. They offer sandwiches, cookies, fruit, pastries and if course coffee, tea, chair tea, Italian sodas and more. Speciality drinks change with seasons. Sit at one if the 2 'kitchen tables or take a seat on a couch or armed chairs. Board games are available but people usually bring their friends for great conversation.

The best! Not only a full drink menu but great homemade sweets. The bread on the sandos is fantastic as well...love the atmosphere and all in the #1 'small' town in Missouri (and the cutest 'suburb' in KC)...proud to make it my 'go-to' third place...

I love this place. Everything is good. The staff and owner are friendly, they seem to enjoy their jobs. The food is above and beyond and their coffee is good. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and normally grind my Roasterie coffee at home but when I need some on the go, I hit this place. The best part about it is the fact that they have almond milk. I had to quit Starbucks after learning that I have a soy sensitivity so having options for people that may have allergies etc is great customer service.

Fresh roasted coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, teas, frozen drinks, oh my! I stumbled upon this little shop (literally, I tripped on the road outside the place) while enjoying a nice afternoon of Parkville exploration. This coffee house is so charming, with plenty of places to sit! I almost wished I had my laptop with me so I could hang out for a bit while getting some work done. The employees are extremely friendly, and you can imagine my happiness when they told me they had "a ton of tea." I decided on a berry blend, and it was so good! The coffee was tempting since they use their own beans and brewing methods, but I was already caffeinated enough. There was also a nice selection of pastries that looked equally as tempting. You can't beat the location... it's next to the trails and water, and situated in between a bunch of cool antique shops. Spend an afternoon in Parkville and definitely get your coffee/tea fix here!

Bluegrass music, fresh roasted coffee beans, exposed rock walls and reclaimed wood make up Parkville Coffeehouse. I loved it, the coffee was very good and the atmosphere even better. It's right on Main St. in Parkville and it's hard to miss with the smell of roasting beans wafting through downtown. Highly rec'd.

I really cannot say enough positive things about Parkville's Coffee House! Their chai tea latte is easily the best one I've had in the city, as they have a special, secret recipe. It's not made from a mix or a powder, it's straight up real ingredients! Also, their plain black iced tea is simply delicious. It sounds ridiculous to rant and rave about iced tea, but believe me, it's THAT good. Finally, they make their own sandwiches there, too. They are simple, basic creations, but they toast them up for you and are super tasty. The feta, sun-dried tomato, kalamata olive and artichoke sammy was on a locally made baguette, and was DELICIOUS. The baristas are super friendly, knowledgeable, and talented. I spoke with the owner briefly, and he obviously has a huge passion for coffee. This shop is only 6ish months old, but definitely is doing some things really right. I'm a huge fan, and wish I didn't like 45mins+ away, so I could enjoy their tasty offerings more often. Okay, go drink their chai, forreals.

Decided late in the year that I was going to start inviting people out for coffee runs(motorcycle). Quick to my yelp app on my iPhone since I was unprepared to stop at multiple coffee houses. We decided on Parkville as our destination our obvious choice was this one. the updated map on my iphone took us the wrong way on main and we all laughed about how the name was quite clear on the overhang. The place smells good and is set up pretty neat upon entry. I ordered a 16oz ice chai latte. Taaaaasty! The kids were very nice and quick. the bathroom was clean. I'll be back!

I work Downtown Parkville, and waited too long to try this place! I just tried a pumpkin cappuccino, and it was fantastic, Love the location and the people that were working there were so nice. My favorite part? The lack of pretentiousness of places like Starbucks. Those Venti, etc sizes really irritate me. I will definitely be spending some time this winter getting warm with Parkville Coffee House drinks!

This, being one of my regular hangouts in Parkville, needs more reviews and more traffic. It probably deserves a 5-star folks but one has to be very careful giving those out and I'm currently over quota. Parkville has tried coffee shops before and every prior attempt was a dismal failure because they didn't understand you have to have regular and consistent hours, treat it like a business rather than a hobby, build customer loyalty with the locals, and SERVE DECENT COFFEE. All of which they do. Josh, owner/manager, is always there. He's the short, friendly guy (I'm short so it's not a slam...we're more environmentally friendly than you tall/big folks in that we breath less air, eat less food, and take up less space) that's almost always behind the counter. He'll try to remember your name, really, and sometimes successfully. They took the concept of Starbucks and went for consistency and dependability in their product line though not necessarily quite as gritty as some independent shops. Don't get me wrong...free WiFi...outdoor/indoor...tables & a bar...danishes from Le Monde (I think)... It's great, but neither is it Broadway Cafe in Westport. Grab a punch card, as you'll likely be back, and support your local coffeehouse!

The staff here is wonderfully friendly, and they make a wicked chai tea latte! Set right on the main strip in lovely downtown Parkville, it's the perfect place to stop and rest while you're sight seeing or walking about town. They offer a free coffee club membership, and their barristas are quite good at what they do.

This is a new little Coffee House that some friends of ours introduced us to. The atmosphere is almost Speak Easy style with its bare wood beams and brick walls. Very friendly baristas that you have to look under the coffee lid to see their art work. That's right, designs in the foam! They even have a coffee punch card so you get your 11th cup free. If you are in the Parkville area and need a pick me up, you won't find a smoother cup of coffee!!

Let me begin by first saying that I AM NOT A COFFEE DRINKER. By the time I add enough milk and sugar, necessary to totally kill the taste of the coffee, there remains no good reason for me to drink it in the first place. However, the word I get from those I know who enjoy good coffee is that the Parkville Coffeehouse has great coffee, and many folks make it their first stop nearly every morning. However, as with many places there's more to The Parkville Coffeehouse it than just their "main dish." They have delicious pastries (the walnut Danish, heated with butter slathered over it is my favorite) and those combined with a very cold green or black tea is my idea of a really great light breakfast. Being located on Main Street in the heart of downtown the coffeehouse has become the defacto meetin' place for those who are in the know, those who think they're in the know, and those who want to know. From early morning until late in the day the coffee and tea drinkers, the eaters of pastries and hot oatmeal gather to talk and listen and to just enjoy the beautiful downtown and the interesting people. While enjoying the drink and food one can admire at the art on the walls, use the Wi-Fi, or sit at the tables outside and watch the world of Downtown Parkville pass by. If you see me there some morning, say "hello" I'd like to meet you.

Oozing with charm, friendliness and allowing a quiet aura for reading, etc., at the same time!! Keeping in step somehow with today's 'pace' and keeping a pleasant thoughtfulness with the history of Parkville and Main street, they also serve the most fabulous coffee. While the lunches, quiches, muffins all are capable of standing on their own, the coffee captures a special attention because it's obvious when you taste it that these folks care about good coffee and all the many details of running a wonderful little secret of a coffee shop that everyone should know about!!

  • T E.

Enjoyed lunch to go from this coffeehouse today. I enjoyed a Mozzarella and Pepperoni sandwich and a cup of Black Bean Soup as a combo costing less then $6. The sandwich was kind of small, but good and the soup was a smooth pureed soup that was much much better after adding a small amount of black pepper and salt. Not complaining, would rather doctor the soup up then suffer through over salted soup that you can't do anything with. Their coffee drinks are a favorite among my co-workers and they've always been really well made.

Ever since they started roasting their own coffee this place has really improved. The quality and taste of their coffee is delicious. And instead of other "leading" coffee companies this small town place really makes you feel welcome, and then their expertise really puts them on top of the competition.

So we're strolling through the wonderful little town of Parkville, and come across the very quaint and cozy Parkville Coffeehouse. The owner was super friendly and accomodating. He didn't rush us, which is something I usually have to deal with in other more 'mainstream' coffee shops. I ordered a chai latte, which he told me was their own homemade blend, as opposed to just a standard syrup. My cousin ordered a decaf coffee. Both were fabulous. As a special treat, we couldn't resist the espresso-iced sugar cookie, topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean. H.E.A.V.E.N.L.Y. Cannot wait to return. Hats off to this very special coffeehouse.

Yum, double, yum! I have tried quite a few of the delish menu beverages. They also have some very tasty sandwiches! I will drive past the bucks and reindeer ANYDAY for great coffee, unique sandwiches, and the nice relaxed atmosphere. BEST of all it is locally owned and you can tell the owners take pride, it is a great place!
