I returned to The Crew today with my wife because she wanted somewhere to sit down and eat and we needed someplace that might serve fish. I was very pleasantly surprised with how good the service was this time around. Within one minute of being seated we had our drinks, within 4 we had our salads, and within 8 we had our fish sandwiches. We didn't come close to running out of drinks and when all was said and done 2 sandwiches with an extra side salad each and drinks totaled 23$. The sandwiches were on par with other places in the area and we really enjoyed the fries. They didn't seem coated or greasy. All in all a positive experience, I would consider coming back (there are a ton of choices around here) and might steer some people here in the future. Nice job and keep it up!

Good down home food! Lots of food are from scratch. Good wait staff. Kids loved The hamburger and Mac N cheese. Great French silk pie and turkey dinner.

I've been once. I will never go back. All the food was reheated from frozen/GFS style. The waitress told us she didn't have anything she could suggest on the menu, because she hadn't tried anything.... I got the shrimp "dinner" 5 pieces of over seasoned shrimp. That's it. I had to eat again an hour later. And ridiculously overpriced for the quality they're serving. They emphasize the word local on their sign, but the only think local is its location. They have no local food or produce advertised or featured. Don't waste your time, it's sad that this place with most likely meet the same fate as Perkins. I had high hopes. Those have officially been dashed.

Barely passable for lunch. Hubby had a tuna melt with cole slaw. The cole slaw was swimming. He also had a cup of chili which was not very good. I had a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, which is $2 more than just a grilled cheese. It was fair but needed more than 1 slice of tomato and 1 piece of bacon. We will pass on a return visit

This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is delicious and tastes homemade. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Love this place!

This is a great place! We had been habitual Denny's customers (right across the street) and we've been watching this restaurant as it opened and then eventually got a sign out front. I still haven't seen it get crowded, but there are a fair amount of customers each time we come in. Their story is very sweet- the owners/staff used to work at the Perkins that was in this location. When Perkins closed, they signed a new lease on the building and reopened as The Crew. Now they still have jobs and they are still able to work together. As far as the food is concerned- the breakfasts are solid. That's all we ever eat, so we can only speak to breakfast, but we've enjoyed everything. Particularly, the biscuits with sausage gravy are excellent. It's a nice, dark, rich sausage gravy with tons of chunks of sausage in it. There are some interesting items on the menu such as potato pancakes (not latkes, but actual pancakes). I liked those a lot for a change of pace. Anyhow, I recommend checking this place out. They do a great job and I hope they do well!

They don't want comment cards we were told by our waitress, because they have 9 managers who already know what they are doing! Ok, so they should know to not have vines growing up the side of the building, and to go out and weed the parking lot. Because if I drove off the interstate, it would certainly not be my choice on that corner. Very clean inside, but food and service very standard . Definitely not memorable. Menu is much too large for a privately held on tight budget. With the ending comments by the waitress about not wanting comments, it told us they don't want our business again either. Not a problem.

Go to The Crew. We went for dinner. There was about a 20 min wait. The young host - man was high strung/nervous and very sweet. Once seated we had waitress Debra. What a professional. She did an excellent job, very attentive and asked all of the right questions to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The appetizer we ordered was overpriced because it was very small. It was 10.00. Should have been closer to 5.00. Side salad was adequate. The dinners however. Wow. Very good!! My husband and I both loved it. High quality, delicious, good portion size. The baked Mac & cheese...to die for. We will go back. Well probably skip the entrees and get right to the good stuff! Desserts look awesome too...didn't get to try, I was way to full. But, the brownies in the display counter were calling my name. I loved that despite how busy they were we never felt rushed or like we were being herded through a process. Excellent service!

Even though I only picked up from here, the time and attention the friendly co-owner lavished upon me was a welcome change. I travel so many days out of the year, quality service is really what sets places apart. This place has amazing service! I felt like I was a long lost family member coming by for a visit. It's an employee owned place, formerly a Perkins after that chain shut it down. The food is pretty high quality if you're looking for good old fashioned simple fare! If you're passing through Kalamazoo or live there, stop by and be impressed!

I was on my way to a restaurant down the road and I decided to stop in and check it out, and I am very happy that I did! It was absolutely delicious! There were 3 of us and we all got different things but everything was great we ended up sharing it all. The amount of food for the prices is definitely worth it! (Not expensive, but not dollar menu lol) The potato skins are amazing with the ranch, my waiter was absolutely fabulous! Before we had a chance to need a refill he was on it, while he had a family party going on in back banquet room. Great prices on desert, their Sundays and cookies were so good! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This is my kind of restaurant. The food is great and the service is excellent. And from looking around the room everyone else appears to be getting good service too! Everyone--my wife wants to emphasize--is friendly. With the multiple choices for breakfast items or sides it is easy to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Well worth the trouble of taking the side roads to get there during the I-94 exit ramp construction project.

Was hoping this place would be a great replacement for Perkins, but it's not. Pretty overpriced, especially for just starting out. I see some of the staff is the same, but that means a couple of the grumps stayed. Nothing worse than an old and grumpy server. Add an overpriced, mediocre meal to it, and it's just not worth the trip back

Came here for a nice quiet dinner on Friday night. This restaurant is an employee-owned former Perkins and is quite remarkable. The food is very good, portion size is healthy and fair, and the prices are really in line for what you get. We were both very impressed with the food quality, the really friendly warm service and the fact that it's all local and employee-owned really means a lot. No rich and distant restauranteur drinking the profits and barking at staff. They are all in it together and it shows.

Great location for travelers, right off of I94. Service was painfully slow, with barely 5 other people on the whole place. Overall food was fair. I suspect the eggs of the processed kind, poured from a carton similar to milk carton as the color was purely yellow, and odd yellow and the taste was artificial like. There were other things too: I asked what was in the breakfast potatoes, no one knew, most likely from a bag.

The food is is not good. I don't know what everyone is taking about. The onions that came on the burger was whittled and at least 2 days old. The open faced roast beef sandwich was literally 2 pieces of dried up meat, which they called roast beef, on a piece of bread was not good at all but smothered in jar gravy it was edible. The mashed potatoes was from a box. The Mac n cheese was mushy. The fries was made earlier that day and if you have ate day old fries you know what I'm talking about. The grits was clumpy. And all the food was luke-warm. However, the service was decent, unlike their food.

Great food at a great price! My coworker and I were very impressed with the options on the menu. Serving breakfast all day is a definite plus. The staff was kind and prompt. We never ran low on drinks. Further, the environment is welcoming and clean. I would highly recommend the "Build your own Burger" and "Build your own Omlet."

The food was average for lunch. They were very slow in the kitchen but it's father's day. So perhaps they were not prepared for the amount of people they had. I probably won't be back. It's plain diner food but I was not impressed at all.
