The WORST food. I have been there three times, the location picked by my companions. The second time was for a Mothers Day brunch my parents wanted to attend. If you consider vending machine crossiants, bagels & cream cheese cups ala Holiday Inn continental breakfast, burnt hash browns( the portions that weren't raw) burnt eggs and frozen sausage patties special occasion food, this is the place for you. Try the bacon jerky, a unique experience. The last time was to meet a friend for a drink. I ordered the crab cakes. I should have known better. What little flavor there was came from the overcooked bell pepper mixed into the gooey bread mixture they had stuffed into a crab shell. No discernable crab.

I've been here twice, both when visiting my sister-in-law who lives in Galesburg. Listen, for this area, the food is predictably good. It's not remarkable by any means, but they have a great selection and reliable flavors. I usually get the Southwest Chicken wrap (I believe that's what it's called) and I love their home fries. The flavors are good and there's clear attention paid to pleasing the palette. I also appreciate the decor. It's a nice place to hang out in a booth and wile away the hour or so with good conversation. We've always had excellent service too. The waitstaff is young, but not aloof and will take good care of you. . . with a smile.

I'd been wanting to try this place for the last 2 years and probably built it up too much in my head. I really enjoyed my bison burger here, my wife really liked their onion stick appetizer, and they had a good beer list with plenty of MI beers on tap. I really didn't dig having to go so far outside of K-zoo, but I can't knock em for their address. Overall I was very pleased with North 11 and will likely go back.

North 11 is a great place to hang out with friends. The general manager was a very nice guy, and made sure we were having a good time. (We did!) And the bartender was great too. The martinis were excellent as was the food. The presentation of the food left a lot to be desired, but it wasn't on my plate long enough for me to care. Recommendations: French Martini, Grouper Sandwich, & Salmon Sandwich. The only weird thing was when I was carded I had to show a second ID or it would "take 20 minutes to go in the back and verify my ID". Really? Also my side of vegetables was a little stingy.

An okay place with nice ideas and a nice looking/sounding menu that falls short on the execution. This place is tucked into a strip mall and it looks somewhat out of place on Gull road but it's close by so I've tried it a few times. The best I can really come up with is that it isn't bad.... Just not that good. Honestly as a diner this place would be awesome but it's trying to be upscale in an area where the nearest other restaurants are papa johns and a Chinese restaurant/takeout joint. So it stands out for what it's trying to be but the execution falls short and given the product they present and the area they are in I feel they are overpriced which is not a good way to feel considering the bulk of their dishes are fairly reasonably priced. The food is okay- they're trying to present an upscale American pub style menu but honestly most of it tastes unremarkable. Not bad just not special. Their spinach and artichoke dip is proclaimed to be "famous" but of the couple of times I've had it once it was loaded with hard, stringy stems and another time it was so undercooked or underdone the cheese wasn't melted and it was cold. Likewise their burgers are okay tasting but of unremarkable distinction. Nothing too mold breaking here. The menu and actual food isn't bad just uninspired. Service is fine- no complaints there. It's close by so I'll probably wind up there again but with different expectations. This isn't a bad place, just nothing special and they could benefit from a menu face-lift and, I suspect, someone in the kitchen who has a bit more training and experience. No need to steer clear of this place, but no need to make a special trip either

This place was a favorite however, the service has fallen off faster than the quality. Whatever they have changed needs to change back before they go out of business.

Third time I've been. Seems like the quality has dropped with each visit. This last time I order the crab stuffed shrimp. No crab, just breading, and a vegetable mix that had clearly been cooked too many hours before. Are carrots supposed to be dried out? Inexperienced wait staff that had a hard time with drinks, requests for condiments and getting the split checks correct - large party of 10. I will suggest somewhere else next big party.

Well I had heard such good things about this place and wanted to like it really....first off we were seated immediately, awesome, however it took several people, me asking the host stand, and almost 25 minutes before a server approached our table to take our drink order, I was almost ready to walk out. AND to top it off we were sitting next to an obnoxiously loud table, ugh. Oh, and my silverware as dirty :( Drinks and food ok, I did actually like like chips and dips a lot. Not sure if come back though.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years and it never dissapoints. It has such a great combination of entrées, sandwiches, and bar munchies. It's located in a strip mall, yet has a beautiful interior. I highly recommend this place!

The food is pretty good, the price is right, and the dishes have nice presentation. It's a classy place, yet also casual, and the outdoor patio is nice. Service can be hit or miss here. At one of my recent visits, the server wasn't very knowledgable, waited awhile for drinks, and then were told that they ran out of the drink special (sangria). But I would recommend this as one of the best non-chain places to eat in the Gull Rd. area of Kzoo. Be sure to check out the martini menu.

I was refused service because I showed the bartender my military ID (which has my birthday on it). They asked for my drivers license (which was expired but still valid with a military ID) and I happily obliged understanding they might not have experience with military ID cards. The general manager then refused to serve me because my ID "looked tampered with". An absolutely ridiculous accusation. She then said she "didn't feel comfortable" serving me even though both identification cards had my birthday on them and were valid. I will never step foot in this establishment again after being disrespected like that.

Surprising good meal for an eatery located in a strip mall. Casual decor that would be ok for a formal meal or meeting. Exceptional service. Small room available for a party. Check out this hidden local gem. Plan to spend a little more that a family chain restaurant , but not much more.

Went there with a large group and this place seems to be upscale bar food. We had several appetizers--none that blew my socks off. I had crab stuffed shrimp and overall it was good but the shrimp were very small. I didn't find anything special here but nothing terrible either

Delicious portobello frites, good service, and a relaxing environment make it a good place for a date. If you like wings, and Thai food, the Thai peanut sauce is going to make you smile. We will definitely be back again for dinner.

I've been here for dinner and it was fine. We went to lunch today and it was terrible! Poor service, we sat with empty drinks forever. There was only one other table in the place. Our food took 45 mins and it was a buffalo chicken wrap and soup and salad! So disappointed on the very poor service today. Won't be back for lunch!

I have visited North 11 twice thus far and will be back. Both visits have been for dinners on a Friday and a Saturday night, so the restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded. This place is located in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The inside is great... as was the service. Both the waitress and manager were very friendly and attentive. During the first trip, my friends and I tried the Asparagus and Eggplant Frites appetizer. We loved it. Not greasy, not too much breading, cooked perfectly, and great seasoning! Based on that trip, we recommend the Gourmet Mac and Cheese, California Style Rueben, and New York Style Rueben. All three great. During that visit, the three of us also ordered the Creme Brulee for dessert. Let's start with the positives... you get a lot of dessert for the price and the flavor and texture was good. We also appreciated the addition of the fresh blackberries on top. However, it was painfully obvious that the whip cream wasn't homemade. And even worse - while the top looked good - it was soft! When you tapped the top, there was no shatter! This was disappointing. There were also warm and cold pockets throughout the dessert. I think we each ate *maybe* half and none of us would order it again. So, just a warning to you about that dessert item. I cannot speak to any of the other desserts as I opted not to get any on my second visit. However, I can tell you that the Ultimate Burger that I had on my second trip was amazing! Be warned, though, it's a monster. I ate half and took the other half home for lunch the next day. Also, I must mention the SUPER impressive martini menu! They have 100 different martinis! I have tried the Luau and Afternoon Delight martinis thus far and enjoyed them both very much. Plus, they put Gummi Bears at the bottom of their drinks! A fun, sweet surprise! :-) Restaurant Atmosphere: 7 Food: 7 Service: 9 Overall Experience: 7.5

I went for a going away party for a co worker. My first reaction was it was a decent looking place, and the menu was well put together. I had the portabello frites which were great but the beer selection was terrible. My first 4 beer choices they were out of, luckily they had my 5th choice of beer.

Weve been here quite a few times. It is usually really good. The atmosphere is nice. They have a full bar with a ton of local breweries on tap. Several tv's to watch. Will surely be back for more. Try the waldorf salad. It is awesome.

I've been to north eleven several times and found the food usually good and the service variable, but mostly ok. After a visit last Friday with a small group of friends, we are all thinking it's time to find another place for our next dinner date. The hostess was helpful and attentive and seated the first two of us to arrive quickly. The waiter came quickly to take drink orders. We asked for water, and a chance to look at the menu before ordering anything further. He came around again before the rest of our party arrived so I quickly decided on a Gilligan's Island just to get him out of our faces. The others in our party arrived and ordered soft drinks, which they said were basically colored water and even the replacements were bad, so the rest of the table joined me in martinis -- excellent martinis, but way more expensive than pop. The waiter took our orders. I got the steak special and he had gone before I had realized he didn't ask and I didn't tell him I wanted it medium rare. I was the only one to order a full dinner, with a salad, which should have arrived a few minutes after we ordered. We didn't see our waiter again until he brought all the food for the entire table, apologizing for not bring out the salad earlier. When I cut into my steak, I found the marsala sauce to be rather too salty, tasting of beef bouillon cubes more than anything, and the thin ribeye ("the biggest steak we serve" according to the waiter) cooked well done on one half and medium on the other. It was not bad enough to send back, but far from the usual quality of past meals. I still think this is a good place for martinis -- competitively priced as far as my small experience at area restaurants -- and maybe appetizers. My companions were ok but not thrilled with their food, and the soft drink fiasco is a problem they ran into before but figured that had been a fluke. I'm afraid north eleven is beginning that slide from popularity into last resort.

Have been going to north 11 for years. Recently the last four times we have gone they have been out of something our group ordered. We were even told that there was a world wide ahi tuna shortage. Also, that the waiter would be back In a minute from Meijer with some Kraft salad dressing. It is a lovely space and we have grown to expect quality from them.

I always love going to this place when I am in Kalamazoo. Great menu, classy interior, good martini list. Just a cool place for dinner and cocktails. The menu is great with a wide variety of food. My wife is a vegetarian, and has no problems eating here. Overall, Iove this place. If you are on the north side of Kalamazoo, you must stop here for a bite to eat.

We've been coming to the area since 2002. Coming from the East Coast, we weren't crazy for the food the first couple of years and kind if stuck with chain restaurants (Portage has them all). When North 11 opened, we were very happy. Nice atmosphere. Beautiful ladies room ;) great Martini list and good food. We always come here the first night we're in town and then several times after. My favorite is the walleye. First of all, you can't get walleye in NJ, and second I love they way they serve if. I've had prime rib, which was decent, not great. And the Gorgonzola rib eye which was very good. I don't think I've had dessert there because the portions are quite generous. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

I really love this place. Even though its a fairly good sized place, I must have driven past it 100 times before noticing the place. The wait staff are always personable and friendly and work hard to make the experience enjoyable. I really like the atmosphere and the way the restuarant is decorated. I've never had any food here that I did like and I would absolutely recommend the five pepper dib. Its declicious and pairs great with many draft beers. That is probably my only complaint, the last few times I went to this restaurant they were runnning out of beers on tap. They have an extensive drink menu and its a great date spot.

I took my parents here to celebrate my Mom's Birthday. I was in from Chicago and this is what they thought would be a posh, fun place to go. Like many of the reviewers have mentioned, the inside of the restaurant did not go with the outside blah appearance of the strip mall. More than I expected from Kalamazoo. 4 stars for the decor... I ordered a Dirty Goose Martini / extra olives and it was served in a shaker they left on the table. Nice touch. Upon delivery, the waitress informed me that she was only permitted to give me 2 olives per martini but made up for it with an olive stuffed with Pimento. Really? We've ordered 3 entrees, appetizers, drinks and you can't give me a few extra olives? Okie dokie... 2 stars for the martini. 4 stars if I take into account this would have cost 3 Xs in The Chi. Our waitress was really adorable and very nice. Quite attentive. As a former server / bartender nice and attentive are fantastic qualities. 4 1/2 stars for our server. Hey- I'm assuming she is not the Olive Nazi and the olive control was an executive decision... While my parents enjoyed their dishes, I was not a fan of mine. Dad had prime rib. I tried a bite and it was pretty good. Mom had tilapia. Also pretty tasty. My meal... Not so much... I ordered salmon with risotto & asparagus. In my opinion, this is a hard dish to screw up. Bravo, North 11! You're the big winner! My salmon portion was really small compared to everything else that was coming out of the kitchen. Maybe 3 oz? Fine for a portion but I always look forward to a little left over for lunch the next day. Not only was it small, but it was flavorless and over cooked. The most bland piece of fish I've had. The risotto was undercooked and tasted extremely salty. It was edible but very disappointing based on the expectations my parents has set. At the end of the day, Mom was happy & that's all that mattered because it was her birthday but I will not rush back anytime soon. 2 stars for my dish, 3 stars for my parent's dishes. In the event I come back, I will either try something else to eat or bribe my server for those elusive blue cheese stuffed olives.

*batman 1.5/4.0 beers So this place pushes the geographical borders of the kalamabooze crib, but we at kalamabooze pride ourselves in overlooking no drinking establishment, especially an uppity martini lounge like this. $1.00 off overpriced margaritas is by no means a special, especially when the volume of tequila is barely adequate to get your prom date tipsy. The atmosphere is chill with tinted glass and a back-lit bar, which makes for a nice stop to catch up with coworkers about the weekend. Overall though, I doubt if I'll ever make it back to this place...1.5 beers. *captain ron 2.5/4.0 beers Wow, this appears to be a really nice place. The wall behind the bar is adorned with top-shelf liquor and the ambient lighting slowly shifts from green to red to blue. There is a margarita special going on, so I partake. Not bad, but I've had better. If I ever become desperate to give people the impression that I have my life in order, I think I'd throw on some chinos and a blazer and I'd take them here. I mean, this place is classy so I don't have to be. The atmosphere is clean and relaxed. The booze selection is great from beer to bourbon. There are even a few ladies dying to hear of my love for charitable pursuits; a love that can only be hindered by the toils of my gainful employment. theKalamabooze.com

I love this restaurant and bar. Its fancy interior denies the plain insurance company exterior. The menu has a varied selection from delicious pizzas to light soups and salads. My absolute favorite is the martini selection. They have a long list that are served still in the shaker which leads to 2 to 3 drinks each. A delicious good deal!

I visited this restaurant many years ago and loved it then. But my recent visit reinforced my opinion that its one of Kalamazoo's really good restaurants. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Kalamazoo, North 11 is located on Gull Rd in a shopping strip thats devoid of any exterior bells and whistles. But wait till you walk in. The decor is as tasteful as it is surprising. Kind of makes you do a double-take. Wait, is this the same place that looks like a cell phone shop from outside? The lighting, the seat spacing, the booths and the bar all make the place look more like a upscale Chicago restaurant than one in Kzoo. But dont think they are trying to distract you with the ambiance. The food and drinks are great too! There is a good selection on the menu and every time I've been there its been a good experience. I recommend the seafood. There also is an extensive martini list with flavors that will keep you drinking till the last drop. Just dont drink and drive. With its location, interior ambiance and great food, North 11 is a cut above the rest. So be sure to check it out!

I had heard so many good things about this place that I think my expectations got the best of me. However, North 11 fell hard in my book. My boyfriend and I went there the Wednesday before Christmas around 8PM for dinner. It was half off wine night, score. We ordered a bottle of pinot, but alas they were out of the one we ordered. They subbed it for something similar, however it was more like grape juice than wine. Entrees, we got the seafood linguine and chicken risotto. The chicken was just a breast of chicken atop rice that tasted like it was a MRE or instant variety. Clearly not a well made risotto, maybne only made with chicken broth as it was mushy and had no flavor. The seafood pasta was lack luster and I could only taste the cheap wine they drowned the dish in. The service was so bad, we said it was the first time we didn;t leave 20%. Our server was so out of it, had no recommendations on food, wine or anything. Maybe she was having a bad day, but talking to the wall would have been more interesting. All that being said, I may go back for drinks as their martini menu looked good. But I will never be back for food again.

North 11 is a trendy casual dining at an affordable price. Diner for 4 no alcohol about $70. We went on a Friday night (it was not busy) and our drink glasses were often empty and our appetizer came out cold. I'd been here numerous times before but for their martinis. Which are the best in town.

We go to North11 a lot because it is by far the best choice near Gull rd. It is very nice inside. Dark and cozy with fireplaces. Every time I go I end up getting the prime rib because it's never disappointed. My wife likes the seafood pasta with mussels. Also the price is reasonable.
