Been here twice, not impressed with my first visit so I thought I'd give it a try. I want to like this place, since it is so close to home, but I don't think I will be a regular. I know the main draw of this place is beer and cider - I'm not a fan of neither, so I wish they would have cocktails on the menu. Food is good - tried the fish tacos - it was mostly breading from the fried flour tortilla, it needs a side dish like rice, chips and gauc. We also had the feature pasta - surf and turf - very good! Dining on the patio area was great - however service was slow in bringing out food. Waitress and hostess were very nice though. I haven't written this place off, its just not the place for me.

TCBC will undoubtedly succeed based on their great food. The beer is a solid 8/10 with my preference being the P51 Porter. Many ciders and lighter lagers are nice. The food is gourmet quality and I have tried about half the menu now in 3 trips. I would say the ambience is nice but a little cafe/dinerish which does not quite fit the food. Seating is a bit cramped. On a slightly negative note, I saw very few smiles on the faces of the staff though the service was way above average. It's a little pricey so this won't be a regular stop but certainly is worth a trip.

TCBC is a great and welcomed addition to the neighborhood. My family and I just moved here from Charlotte, NC which is a foodies paradise. So we have grown accustomed to eating good. I think TCBC is a great spot to eat, but I'm hoping with time it will be excellent. This review is based upon my last three visits. Starting with the cider, the cherry is my favorite. It tasted like juice to me. The sweet cider is also very tasty too. I tried the soup of the day- shrimp bisque and it was delicious! It was flavorful and filling. Not too rich or salty. For entrees I had the portabella burger with Brie. It was good but I was surprised how small the portabella was and it could have used more Brie. The fries however were excellent. Next I tried the catfish tacos and they were pretty good. I enjoyed the smokey flavor they had. I feel the dish needs avocado in the salsa and some sort of sauce on it. I would suggest kicking the heat up a notch too. Also a side of Mexican rice. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was excellent. Which is a compliment since we have had awesome pulled pork while living in NC. Last, we tried two of the desserts, bread pudding and the banana chocolate cheese cake. Both were delish but the cheesecake was memorable. Overall the food, atmosphere, and service is great. I will continue to go back and try new dishes. I only gave TCBC three stars because the food didn't blow my mind but I'm hopefully it will!

Loved the food and beer, great atmosphere bet the outdoor patio will be awesome when it is finished! Would definitely be a frequent customer if I lived here locally.

My wife and I stopped in for a few beers and some appetizers...and we left very pleasantly surprised and happy. The Farmers Lager was a terrific American-style beer. Very drinkable, crisp, yet flavorful and satisfying. 5.0%. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I just ordered a second and decided to skip the flight of IPA's & their stout. Next time. The wings appetizer said they were 'smoked' and, by golly, they really were truly smoked ribs. Delicious! So unlike the deep fried, over-sauced wings other places (BBW) offer. Wonderful. The pimento cheese flatbread/crustini was good but rather ordinary. The presentation, orange marmalade, and child sauce decorations were all good. But, it simply was a poor choice on our part to pair them with the wings because the smokiness of the wings simply overpowered the cheese appetizer. Finally, my wife ordered the roast corn and that, too, was wonderful. Different levels of flavor on a perfectly roasted ear of corn bursting with flavor and juices. Recommended. The restaurant, itself, is bustling, uber-clean, bright, and inviting. Our service (thank you, Cassie) was top-notch, too. A bonus was the friendliness of the guests. We met several at the tables next to us which made the whole experience seem like a family get-together. We're from Chicago and look forward to more visits to Texas Corners Brewing Company which is saying a lot because, as craft beer snobs know, they're in the heart of beer country here. But, Texas Corners fits right in with the best.

Wow! Only open a few short months and already busy and talked about by the whole area. Food was amazing and their cherry apple cider is my favorite cider in all the brewpubs I've been in Michigan. Buy local is their motto and it has sure worked out.

The P-51 porter and the cherry cider are amazing. (Didn't try anything else) The atmosphere is very nice as well. Very clean, very comfortable. The old style school house converted to a brewery is a nice touch. I ordered a burger medium rare...a $10 burger. I got medium well. -1 star. The fries are awesome. Pricing is a bit high...$6 for a pint...

I wanted to give it 3 stars, but that seemed too harsh. The food was fine (nothing absolutely outstanding, but fine), the outdoor dining was nice, and our server was good. That being said, we placed our order, and still didn't have food after an hour. Finally the manager came over to tell us that there was a wifi issue with their printer, so the kitchen wasn't getting any of the patio orders. He offered to get us drinks (we were drinking water), and then asked us if we needed anything else. Well, yes...FOOD. But since that wasn't an option, and there was nothing else to be done, I guess I figured there should be an offer to compensate for the ridiculous wait as a small reduction of our bill or something. Just an "I'm sorry" doesn't make up for an hour-plus wait. Wasn't thrilled with how the situation was handled, but assuming it's an isolated incident, didn't want to dock them more stars. So, all in all, food was fine but didn't really warrant all 5 stars.

What a nice experience! The ambience is great, unlike anything in Kalamazoo. My IPA was delish, and my husband enjoyed his porter. BTW they fill the pint to the top! My new pet peeve is the two finger rule where they leave room for the foam. ( Millenium Group restaurants) Texas Corners Brewing fills to the top. My husband had the short ribs, which were very good. But a little high priced for what you get and how much short ribs cost to make. It was the perfect proportion, but priced a little high. My pulled pork sandwich with the southern potato salad was perfection. We will definitely be back. And I need to do a shout out to Emily for the wonderful service. And Andrew, the manager ( hottie) for the attention to the entire restaurant

In a city that has so many great restaurants it isn't every day that a gem like Texas Corners Brewing Company pops up. I've been here twice now and have been both impressed and satisfied both times. The first time we went for drinks and dessert but the second time we went for dinner. TBC brews their own hard cider and beer. The cider was really good as was the beer. I'd definitely go back just for drinks. For dinner I had the NC pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the catfish tacos. The pulled pork had an intense smoky flavor but it worked. It was also a bit greasy for my taste but overall it was a really good sandwich. My wife said the catfish tacos were just OK. She said it needed a sauce to pull the taco together and was lacking a side dish.

Just for the beer. New and clean. Came in for just a brew after riding my Mt. Bike. More distinguishes clientele than typical. I'm probably the skankiest person here (sorry all else). Bar seats about 6 people.

Today I enjoyed dinner at Texas Corners Brewing Company. The environment, a converted church was well appointed and the interior was nicely lit and tastefully decorated. The patio outside was also smartly arranged and lit well. The staff at TCBC are careful, conscientious, and very attentive. Their service was exemplary. We had a chance to sample many of the beers and ciders and enjoy an appetizer and two main dishes, the lamb shank and the bison burger. The food itself was prepared excellently, everything was at the proper serving temperature and condition for the menu price. The food itself. There were some small issues which for me robbed this establishment of their fifth star. The appetizer was a wild boar sausage and the menu had represented the dish one way and the kitchen had delivered a dish that was somewhat like what was described in the menu. Instead of grapes and raisins there was cheesy grits. For me, grits were acceptable however for a $14 appetizer I felt that there should be a solid menu-to-food match, and that there wasn't one felt tacky. The condition of the appetizer was amazing, the food itself isn't really the problem, almost always. The Bison was cooked spot-on, for example, and Bison is notoriously difficult to work with because it's so lean. The lamb was very good, however my partner expressed a lack of proper cutlery for what he was facing. A lamb shank with skin can be a challenge to breach with a dull butter knife, there should have been a steak knife included. Now when I review the food, my potato side, French fries, had a unsettling aftertaste/under-taste and at first I was concerned that the oil they were cooked in had gone either rancid or scorched. I asked my partner to taste it and he identified the mystery note as bacon. Perhaps the fryer was augmented with bacon drippings. That would explain the smoky ham/bacon/burn under-taste on the fries. Once I had bacon in mind, the taste snapped into position. The only other note I will make is the choice of grits in the appetizer. Grits have a well known phase shift when they cool. They go from creamy and flowing to clumpy really quickly. In the presentation of the appetizer this doesn't appear, but on the diners small-plates, it causes an eyebrow raise. I found the phase changed grits to be unwilling to join with the sausage slice since I wanted to taste them together, the pre-phase-change grits were wonderful with the sausage slice, and since they were piping hot, they were easy to manipulate. Now, to the beer. The beer selections were very nice and generally well done. The best value for your money are the flights. Especially if you are exploring craft beer, which brings most people to this restaurant I think at least at first. The ciders are a different matter. The dry and hoppy ciders are spot-on. The sweet and cherry infused ciders are less. The cherry cider has a firm cough-syrup belt to it, and the sweet cider (and cherry) have a very unnerving chilled vinegar note running underneath the primary flavors. It is not strong, but it is possibly something to watch out for. The chef and staff should be recognized for bringing a very well done restaurant to the sneeze-and-you-miss-it Texas Corners. It's worth a visit, flights over pints and a worthy competitor to other restaurants like Rustica in downtown Kalamazoo. The food prices are not meant to be weeknight meals but rather destination eating with special events firmly in mind. The appetizers run 8-15 and plates hover around 15-35. Tread carefully if budget dining is what you are after, if it's an anniversary or birthday, it's really quite good.

We came for the beer, but left talking about the food!! The beer was excellent (& 3 ciders), don't get me wrong, but the Schultz's did not want to just entertain with beer. The food is excellent on all fronts; presentation, selection, and homemade desserts. For a starter we had the fried green tomatoes, it came with a sauce that was unique and very complimenting. Other starters to mention are prawns and bone marrow. A couple tables next to us got those dishes and they looked amazing. The main dishes included unique pizzas, wild pole caught salmon, giant fish tacos and herb seared scallops to name a few. They even have a smoker for the ribs, pulled pork, beef tips, etc. Unbelievable food spread, unbelievable execution on the dishes. Very nice TCBC! As for the beverages they had: (3) ciders (dry, sweet & cherry; cherry was my favorite), American Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Porter with house roasted cocoa nibs, Belgian Orange Wheat (my favorite) and a pre-prohibition style lager (excellent). We went ahead and did a flight with 'everything' :-) Not even kidding, we came for the beer and to also grab a bite; we left relishing about the food. I can't wait to go back.

11 on a 10 scale. You must go here. Don't think about it, just go. They brew several different beers here and smoke their own meats. The meats are mostly sourced locally from local farms. I had the beef brisket entree. Best beef brisket I've ever had. It's a grand slam out of the park. I paired it with their brewed in house imperial stout, which was a party in my mouth. For dessert, I ordered their homemade maple bacon custard. Oh my god!! It was the best! My mind is blown... I will never forget stoping here. You must go here if you ever have the opportunity!

Great brewery / restaurant . Love the building They have recently opened so they are building their selection of Beers and Ciders. For starters we had the Pork rinds which were light and a bit salty - ploy to make you drink more beer? Burgers are great.. but the smoked cowboy pork chop is amazing...I'd come back just for this anytime.. The dry ciders are also really good , my wife enjoyed the dry cider so much that we bought some for the trip back to Texas. There a great potential for Texas Corners to become a one of the best Brewery / Restaurants in Kalamazoo ... but There's a lot of competition here

Stopped by tonight, 25 minute wait, totally worth it. We had an awesome corner table with Travis as our server. He was great. Very knowledgable about the menu, full of recommendations. The bison burger was perfectly charred with a nice pink center, the red potato salad was great. Highly recommend the asparagus pizza. Cherry cider was really amazing. It is a little bright, but being for a Saturday night, it wasn't as loud as what other reviewers mentioned. It's not the cheapest place for beer and dinner, but we'd go back.

If you are anywhere in the Kalamazoo area DO NOT MISS THIS LITTLE GEM! We had a group of 14 meet for dinner at Texas Corners Brewing last night. I'm a foodie who has managed several restaurants in the Seattle, and have to say, I was blown away at how spectacular our experience was. It's hard to believe this place has only been open for a few weeks, because the service, ambiance, and especially the quality of their food and local craft ciders was FLAWLESS. With a group this large, we practically ordered everything on the menu, and everyone enjoyed their food. There was a lot of, "you have to taste this!" going on as our guests passed bites and sips around the table. Chef was nice enough to come out and tell us about the food and the beginnings of Texas Corners, which just added to our experience. The entire waitstaff and management were accommodating and just as happy to share the story of how Texas Corners came to be. You can tell they are proud of this establishment- as they should be. The atmosphere is so warm and incredibly unique. The Schultz family renovated an old church that had apparently been empty and unoccupied for years. When you step in the door, you can tell it was a church and the renovation is beautifully done. Every detail, from the presentation to the wonderful photos on the wall of local farm scenes made it very obvious that we were in a place built with love, fine foods, and expertly crafted ales and cider. I will jump at the chance to come back. The dining room filled up at dinner time. Should it be full when you get there, grab a cider at the bar- it is well worth the wait. Hats off Texas Corners!! Very well done!

Great start to a new venture. Salmon flat bread was easily the best item we ordered, though everything was good (fish tacos, pulled pork sandwich, burger) except perhaps the pesto flat bread, which was dry and had extra-large pieces of chicken that made it difficult to eat without a knife and fork. Only tried the wheat beer, which was worth returning for.

I came here last week with family who live in the area. Everyone I dined with loved their food. Some highlights were the fried green tomatoes with remoulade, the duck entree, the salmon, and the pork chop. We enjoyed our beers and dry cider. The service was good once were were seated, but they are still getting the kinks out with turning tables over and estimating wait times. Our wait time was over an hour more than estimated, but they made it right by giving us free appetizers. They don't have milk for kids there, but my niece enjoyed the Schultz's apple cider. They seem to be adding a patio, which should help with some of the crowding issues. We'd go back.

Stopped in on a busy Friday night and sat at the tiny bar in the back. Realistically I would give the place a 3.5 rating. The food was really good, we shared the apple bacon salad and the filet. Both dishes had great flavor and the filet was cooked as requested. However, I wish they would have actually split our dishes for us in the kitchen instead of bringing an extra plate. A drawback of this place is that it is a brewery and I was not wowed by the beer, drinkable but nothing I would rush back for. The ambiance is also slightly off, high ceilings and bright lights. I understand it's an old church but they need to figure out a better lighting situation. I will definitely be back for the farm fresh tasty food!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! My husband and I just had our Anniversary dinner with Texas Corners Brewing Company and we were blown away by the quality of the food served. It was a busy Saturday night but we only had a very short wait to be seated. We each had a beer and ordered the pork rinds for an appetizer. Yes, I said pork rinds... Hot with malt vinegar powder! YUM! I'm not one to buy a bag at the gas station but hubby likes them so, these have made me a fan. I ordered the catfish with the grit cake and he had the BBQ Ribs. I loved my meal and he loved his. We did a little swapping and had Creme Brûlée for dessert. I honestly have to say one of the best meals we've had. The service was excellent and we feel we received a good value for the quality of our dinner. We will definitely be back for some of that mushroom pizza the couple next to us was eating. It's a shame the lady who was sitting by us we first got there who had no patience, you missed a hell of a meal.

This place has potential. I've been twice in small groups. Burgers and steaks have been overdone both times we've been there. Some food is good and some is mediocre. It seems a lot of their food is either bland or overly spiced based on our experiences. Service has been great both times and their concept is fun. I'd like to give it another try once they've worked the kinks out.

Wanted to love it. The food was fine, though a "medium" burger came out pretty well done. And needed more flavor. My sister had chicken and it WAS very good. Cider is just that, nothing special. The atmosphere would have been much better if it weren't for the noise! High ceilings make it too loud. Our waitress could not hear our order, and I left with a headache from the noise. Not sure will be back any time soon, especially with all the other options in Kalamazoo.
