Great spot for a quick bite or snack, awesome home made root beer, think old school sonic with amazingly cheap prices! It's cash only though so heads up. Wish we had these close to home we loved it!!!

Wow! It is so horrible it is nothing like it used to be. The new owners have watered down its iconic root beer and changed the chili sauce. Not going to waste a single penny there again.

It's hard for me not to like any place that you pull into and are then served at your car. Yeah, I'm nostalgic. Hot dogs probably don't top my fine food list but when you have one here (along with a root beer float) the ceremony in and of itself lends to an enjoyable experience. These hot dogs are definitely middle of the road but I didn't come planning on USDA choice. It's kind of like when you go camping and just about any kind of food tastes great. By the way, in Kalamazoo, it's pronounced "Hat Dag". And you can have a "pap" with that if you so desire. The people here are always friendly and the food comes out quickly. By the way, give the nice young college bound lady a tip after she runs out your food. This might be her first summer job and you'll want her to remember you favorably when someday she's a surgeon and operates on you. In a world of fast food and drive thru windows its nice to shut off your car engine and simply sit and enjoy a bite to eat the way they did it in the 1950's. I'm glad to see places like this still exist. Carry on.

Absolutely a stellar drive in diner. Best hot dogs great beer and the friendliest staff. Kids love it!

I'm a white trash connoisseur so I know a good hot dog (yes I realize how that sounds). I've heard such good things about this Kalamazoo staple however I was very underwhelmed. The chili tasted worse than canned chili and the hot dogs were, for lack of a better word, gross. I wouldn't recommend this place.

A Kalamazoo landmark. The hot dogs aren't any different than you could make at home, but the novelty of this traditional drive-in keeps me coming back. Cash only.

They actually make their own Root Beer! Root Beer Stand is definitely a land mark for Kalamazoo. The hot dogs are standard hot dogs, with basic toppings but it's convenient, different, owned locally and the root beer is delicious. Try their hot ham and cheese for something different. Cash Only!

Not a big hot dog guy, and root beer is just all right in my book. But come on, a real drive in restaurant, how cool is that. Pretty cool right up to the point where you get your food. A very tough and rubbery hot dog, with a small bun. Poor condiment selection and a very long wait. The root beer was not bad, I will give them that. But, you really need a good excuse to go out to eat a hot dog, the Root Beer Stand is not a good excuse.
