Very Friendly Service. It's your neighborhood kitchen where your bound to run into someone you know. Food is good. I wouldn't say great. If your here to be picky. I would wait till they know you. Once they know you they usually hit the nail on the head.

food was good, service was great, order came out in less than five minutes and was exactly as ordered. We couldn't believe it was our order out that fast.

Colonial Kitchen is always super-packed. You will wait for breakfast. And you will wait in a super-cramped entryway built to hold five people. (There are always at least 25 people in this area.) My most recent visit was my first since they'd demolished the old one. I really didn't like the look of the restaurant. It felt like a cafeteria. It's weird to say, but the decor and design of the place made me feel unwelcome. But the food was good as usual. The Belgian waffle was totally light and fluffy. To die for. The hash browns were just okay and my three strips of bacon ranged from crispy to soggy. It's hard to rate breakfast places, but their Belgian waffle success was worth noting.

Stopped in on a Tuesday around 10:00 a.m. No waiting. Special 9 with 4 triangles of french toast, two over-easy eggs were a bit uncooked, and the two slices of bacon were a wee bit small. My friend ordered chef salad which came in a strange large bowl which looked more like cleaning supply caddy than a salad bowl. Prices were reasonable, but the food quality could be improved.

Poor service, People after us served their food first. Big Pet peeve!!! Pancakes were flimsy, really soggy after putting syrup on them, chicken fried steak tasted like fried in old grease. I am sad because this is very close to my house. Place was clean though.

A neighborhood kitchen/diner feel. Good traditional lunch and breakfast. Fast and friendly service.

My fiancé and I used to eat here 4-5 days a week for breakfast. And we loved it! Never had a bad experience! Just placed a carry out order over the phone. Got my food home and was missing hash browns. Called to go back and get them and the cashier treated me like crap because she charged me for the wrong item! Hello.... She took the order, repeated it back to me and cashed me out but she has an attitude with me because she rang it up wrong! Sorry, it's not my fault you can't do your job properly!

I've always had good experiences here but then again, I've only really had the potato omelette and pancakes. I remember skipping class, I mean going there during high school and the server suggested the potato omelette and insisted that I get the chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream. That day and that meal will forever be engrained in my food palate. I crave it every now and then but my schedule just doesn't seem to match up with their hours. Whenever I drive by they seem pretty busy so they're definitely doing something right.

This place has gone down hill over the years. We always come here after camping weekends. They have remodeled and changed the building which really sucks. It now has an office type of feel to it and I am not a fan. The lighting is very office space feeling and just isn't warm and inviting anymore. The food remains decent but with other options around Kzoo such as Crows Nest in particular. I find no real reason to go here.

Apparently people love this place but I've never had a very good experience there. I've tried it multiple times (in their old and new space) thinking that maybe it was just a bad day but each time I come away with the same impression. You wait forever for a seat in a space not designed for you to wait in. Then once you finally do get seated, good luck getting service. When you are served it's definitely NOT with a smile, I've even had flat out rude service. Their food is just OK, I can think of many other places in town with a better menu. I really see no reason to ever go back.

I love Colonial Kitchen! The omlettes are HUGE and amazing, you can get pancakes as a side (or just toast if you area pussy), and they leave the whole pot of coffee. It is enough food to feedyou for three days. Alright, so you may have to wait ok the weekends but it is totally worth it.
