Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Would have taken pictures but it was dark.....great place! The fresh grilled shrimp was tasty. If you love crab cakes....then you will love these....they are not doughy at all....they are very meaty! They were the best crab cakes I have ever had...you have to get some. I almost considered getting a second order. The fresh lobster was tasty.....everything was awesome. Nicely done Frills staff!

  • bryan j.

Definitely a "take advantage of the tourist season" restaurant - ok outside seating but tables are close together - too close, and no views - it's off the street behind another building. I believe the lobster was frozen on my lobster-pasta, and my friends scallops were "barely ok", my other friend said his haddock was good. The wine pours were respectable. No reason to go back though.

    (2)
  • Kathryn G.

Hate to disagree but both of the items we ordered were mediocre at best. So avoid the shrimp taco salad and the Mexican dip. The dip was canned and the lettuce in the salad was old. Just our luck!

    (2)
  • John F.

Cheerful wait staff but slow. Took our order and 15 min later waitress came back to tell us they were out of one entree. 35 mins after that entrees arrived. One of our party had ordered the catch of the day - haddock, which was completely inedible due to the amount of salt that had been added to it. Informed waitress that the food was inedible. She apologized but didn't offer to do anything about it. Tab for three was $90 with tip. I do not recommend Frills.

  • Sal O.

This place was pretty nice. We went for lunch, the host was very friendly and sat us right down. I ordered the daily catch sandwich and my wife got the Chicken Florentine. I got a large piece of haddock, very tasty and cooked just right. It came with a side of pasta salad. The Chicken Florentine had a nice size piece of chicken and fresh mozzarella. The waitress was very friendly and kept are drinks re-filled through out our meal. We will defiantly go again!

  • Marisa D.

Delicious! We ate some great food in Ogunquit and this was at the top of the list!! If we stayed longer we probably would have returned for another meal. I had the Lobster Roma Pasta - which not only featured lots of fresh lobster meat, but also the freshest homemade pasta. Loved the outdoor seating and fire feature. The service was great as well!

    (5)
  • Dave F.

Scallop salad was excellent. Great combo of flavors, esp the bacon! Shrimp salad had lots of fresh tender shrimp but not the most interesting salad. Turkey club was a huge hit w fresh turkey and awesome thick applewood bacon (again) -- was like having Thanksgiving dinner in a croissant -- plus homemade chips. Really good friendly service for a busy lunchtime crowd.

  • Sheryl G.

Great dinner at Frills tonight on the last day of vacation. Fried clams appetizer was wonderful. Steve our waiter was very attentive and the service was fast. Will definitely go back there next time we are in Ogunquit.

  • Jenn N.

Excellent food! Really enjoyed the atmosphere & service! Great sandwiches & Sangeria! Nothing really for children except grilled cheese.

    (4)
  • Mark V.

Ok, but not great. Had lobster Rome, which was flavorful, but pasta was very over cooked. Ribs were good, beef tips and chicken Marsalis were very average. Service was friendly, but we felt rushed. Ordering rolls was actually funny. They literally brought one extra roll at a time.

  • Emily B.

I highly recommend a visit to Frills while you're in Ogunquit. Unlike their name implies, this place is very hole in there wall. Its easy to walk by and not even realize it's there since it's so secluded and tucked away. Their food, however, was phenomenal. The staff was awesome. They even had those space heaters so you can eat outside at the beginning (or end) of the season. Definitely recommend trying their clam chowder.

    (5)
  • Tony T.

The settings ok. Wasn't pleased with the portions of food you get for the price you pay. The crab cakes were mushy and tasteless.

    (3)
  • Lulu L.

My sister and I are literally just finishing up our late night dinner and drinks. The food was awesome! We both got the Frill's Oscar which has lobster and crab crakes and we finished every last bite. Holy bernaise deliciousness! Martini's were so-so.... Highly recommend for dinner though and our server, Jamie, was awesome!

    (5)
  • Thiri S.

We went to Frills for a nice dinner on our first night in Ogunquit. Although it was a busy night, we got a table right away. Amanda was our server and honestly, she was one of the best servers we have ever encountered. She was very friendly, polite and very knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended mussels for the appetizer and it surely was excellent. I ordered lobster pasta and my boyfriend ordered a combo of ribs and steak. Excellent taste!!! We honestly loved every single bite! The drinks were great also. Overall, we're definitely going back to Frills when we visit Ogunquit next year! We just have to!!

  • Mrs. G.

We went there for lunch. All of the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The crab cakes were okay. They needed a bit more crab in them. My husband thought the hickory chicken sandwich was good but greasy. I didn't enjoy the scallop salad. It had three scallops (one if which was tiny), and the sundried tomato, artichoke, bacon combination was salty. I might return, but I would order something different.

  • Brittney L.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our last day in Ogunquit (and also the first warm-ish day of our trip). We wanted to try it earlier in the week but didn't get a chance because it was cold and rainy and they only have outdoor seating. The server/bartender was super friendly and very helpful regarding the menu and recommendations. We split the shrimp rio for an appetizer which was delicious and I had the clam chowder which was very clammy and thick for those who like it that way! Almost too clammy for me. My husband had to crab melt and said it was fresh and quite tasty! We really enjoyed ourselves!

    (5)
  • Gino R.

This is a management issue. 8 of us walk in to be seated. They state only parties of 4. So, we asked to be split up. By policy this is not allowed. "Since I already know that you are friends, we cannot split you into 2 different tables. Sorry, just weird.

    (1)
  • Calvin T.

Avoid the clam chowder if you are going to the beach afterwards. It is more like New England clam pudding, incredibly thick beyond any chowder I've ever had. Taste was good but just way too thick. The crab melt was good but too bad I couldn't finish it because I was so full after the chowder. Service was a bit slow.

    (3)
  • Jess L.

Do not go here for dinner! They serve rice pilaf. Seriously, it looked like it came from a box with a spice packet included. The crabcakes we're soggy and aweful. The fried clams had a rubbery breading on them. Our waiter was really nice and timely. (+1star)

    (2)
  • K B.

Love this place, a hidden gem. Great beer, wine and cocktails. Love the whole clams, lobster croissant and the sirloin tips. Jody , Mike and Steve are awesome-great service!

    (5)
  • Maggie S.

Great vibe -- enhanced the vacation feel. Great service but without making the diners feel rushed or harried. Crab melt was delicious!

  • Mary P.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting ogunquit. The food was superb and the service was phenomenal. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress because she was very attentive, patient, and helpful. My boyfriend ordered the cod with crab meat and said it was great. He really enjoyed his dinner as well as the apps of mussels and fried clams. I ordered the shrimp scampi and was not disappointed. The wait staff was generous with our multiple requests for more rolls. Aside from the awkward situation of a customer hysterically crying at her table and making eye contact with me several times and a rude homosexual couple attempting to cut the line and steal our table, this restaurant was really great and we WILL be back.

  • Don W.

We had a nice lunch at Frills today. The weather was perfect & the food was all tasty. I think the menu is screaming for a felafel but everything was the way it should be. The hostess seemed to steer people toward the most undesirable tables possible, but our server (Steve, I think) made up for it. He was even smart enough to not ask if we wanted change back when we paid him.

    (4)
  • Jessica D.

Great service, prompt and friendly! Had the chicken caprese sandwich, awesome! My friend had the Lobster croissant, never hit the plate once she started eating it :)

Great lunch at the bar. Drinks were delicious and well made. Would recommend and return.

It was pouring rain and windy and cold. Worst conditions for someone from Florida!! Based on menu and the lure of the hostess, we decided to try this place for lunch. They had a small booth on the sidewalk to entice people. After accepting, I walked my wife and the hostess (arm and arm of course) to the restaurant. SURPRISE!! It is an outdoor only restaurant - remember, it was cold (48), raining, windy. We almost walked away but they had a large umbrella with heaters. I was glad we chose to stay. Foot was pretty good, service was good and the experience of eating out in such horrible conditions was worth it. I had a good portobello panini and my wife had a hummus wrap - both very good. If you go, expect a local eating/watering hole with good food and good service!

  • Andrew T.

This was our first meal here and it was amazing. From the clams to the crab melt I had no complaints. Even their homemade chips were good! The only drawback to this place is the seating. It's tight and small so be prepared to speak with those around you. I could reach to either side of me and touch the other persons plate. Even with that I couldn't give anything less than 5 stars.

    (5)
  • Bruce F.

I thought the best thing about Frills was the all outdoor dining but it's actually the food. Everything is made in house and highlights the flavors of the ingredients. I had a delicious lobster salad with mixed greens and vegetables. My companions enjoyed amazing fried clams, lobster croissant and haddock sandwich. Friendly unhurried service.

  • Andy Y.

We were a little early for lunch. The nice host sat us anyway and we sat the few minutes before we were greeted by Nate our waiter. He filled us in on the lunch specials and decided to start with the fried clams. AMAZING! Fresh, light, small and sweet. Lunch arrived and my guests and I had a really delicious lobster roll on a buttery croissant. Also a lovely salad with lobster and a fresh haddock sandwich. We inhaled everything! I recommend this place for the outdoor only seating, friendly service and yummy coastal food.

  • Steve R.

Great little outdoor eatery in quaint downtown Ogunquit. Servers were fun and attentive to our needs. Six of us stopped in for lunch had the fried clams for an appetizer.. very good with home made tater sauce. Marguerite's to drink very good and recommended if you are a fan. I had the shrimp taco salad and others had the sandwiches on croissants with home made chips... so good! We heard they will be moving up on the main road to a bigger establishment with indoor seating for year round business. I will be going back for sure when i visit relatives in Wells ME throughout the year.

  • Kasey K.

Freshly-brewed iced tea, thick and creamy clam chowder, delectable entrees and killer cole slaw. Service was friendly, but they're usually pretty busy so be prepared to wait a few minutes. But soooooo worth it.

OVERALL: Perfect pit stop in Oguinquit. Yelp has the wrong location on the map. It is close to the center of town. Quality: 5. Amazing food. Amazing. Service: 5 Server was there at all times. Even gave us recommendations to watch the games later that night. Great people. Gave them a 25% tip it was so good. Atmosphere: Outdoors, clean bathrooms, casual, great music. Cannot ask for more. Price: CHEAP. 3 bucks for a draft IPA? Hell yeah! Notes: This was one of the BEST places we stopped at during our anniversary trip. We will be sure to stop here everytime now! Don't miss it! It is hidden back a bit near the ice cream shop. Homemade food is delicious, and the chips are great! Love it. And it is CHEAP!!!

Love this place! Great food, friendly service, and a lovely alfresco atmosphere. I come back every year!

  • Mike I.

Always had a good lunch here, tried their dinner last night. Completely underwhelming. Please stay a sandwich place, even the Cesar salad was not very good. Crab cake was leathery and tasteless. This may sound like you should stay away.. But only for dinner. You must stop in for a lobster croissant for lunch, and the after beach bar scene is great.

Service A+ Food: steak and ribs were top notch Price: just right Oh, and beer was good too!

I have been staying in Ogunquit my entire life but just went to Frills this summer. Because I go with my large family, they have never been able to seat us. This time was a small group so we finally tried it. I was BLOWN away by the tastiness of the food! I got the seared scallops. They were the most tender and flavorful scallops I've ever had. No rubbery at all. Others enjoyed the lobster Roma pasta and enjoyed that as well. The rolls are doughy and delicious. Cute ambiance. We sat at a bar height table, which is not my favorite because we sat on bar stools versus chairs with backs, but not a big deal.

    (5)
  • Erol S.

From the front, Frills is ironically no-frills. Looking more like a backyard with some lawn furniture and a big umbrella, Frills is tucked behind one building and next to an art gallery. The Frills kick in when it comes to the eats. All three dishes we got (grilled jerk wings, Florentine Panini and Lobster croissant) were simply delicious. Additionally, the Mainerita hit the spot as well. Give it a go for lunch and hit up La Orilla next door for a tapas dinner. Gotta love Ogunquit!

Felt like I was dining in someone's backyard, which it practically was...I was staying at an inn where the yard was adjacent to this restaurant. They gave me the recommendation when I asked for a casual restaurant within walking distance- they said a lot of locals go there. There is a host/hostess stand out by the sidewalk with a menu...they will walk you up the short walk from the driveway at one of the little tables. There is also a fun looking bar area that looked like they had drink specials. The lobster Roma pasta I ordered was SO delicious and practically a bargain in touristy Ogunquit...tons of fresh lobster and fresh pasta. I've had much smaller portions of mediocre lobster pasta in cities that cost 2 or 3 times more than Frills. Friendly and efficiency waitstaff made sure I had beverages and bread, and brought out my entree very quickly. Not sure how their business goes in adverse weather since all the tables are out in the open with a few umbrellas, but on the gorgeous weather night I dined here, it was great.

  • Nicole B.

This place was amazing. All of the seating is outdoors, so make sure you go in when there is nicer weather. Loved the watermelon and pineapple mojitos - which we started with. The calamari melts in your mouth (the best we've EVER had), and the clam chowder was creamy and heavenly. The lobster roll lived up to its hype, and on our second visit we tried the crab melt - full of cheese and the bread was fantastic. The blueberry pie was also delicious. If we ever find ourselves back in Maine we WILL stop here again! Special shout out to our serve Rachel, she was AWESOME, fun and had some great suggestions and provided awesome service!! Stop here for for some eats, you won't regret it!!!

    (5)
  • Lilly J.

We had great drinks and dinners there, even the creamed spinach was yummy! My only complaint is that it's only outdoors and it's somewhat crammed for seating. Still worth it though.

  • Holly G.

Went to frills with a big crew for lunch- excellent! Salads, sandwiches, and burgers all a hit. Healthy pours on the cocktails. Friendly, efficient service. Far exceeded our expectations. Will be back!

  • Richard C.

Food was decent, but the attention to customer service was horrible. We waited 40+ minutes for a table to be seated directly in the sun. They had an umbrella they could have extended over our section but didn't. Worse yet they had heat torches going right next to us. When we asked to move to another table that was being cleared we were told that they couldn't accommodate. Not at all good since we had two kids. Cook the food not your guests. We should have been moved. Price was to expensive for lunch with two adults and two kids at $106 and change not including tip.

Was here on 7/7/15 for lunch with a friend. The shrimp taco salad was just so awesome. I will be dreaming of it for years to come. The wait staff were just as awesome and so delightful. I even got their photos and appreciate their awesomeness. They are in the right business to be so hospitable and gracious. Next time, I'll bring some Girl Scout cookies! ;)

They should call this place NO FRILLS!!! All I can say is that the positive reviews below must clearly be written by friends and family members of the owner. That's my one complaint about Yelp -- there is no way to control for that. The food here is absolutely, undeniably TERRIBLE. It is subpar bar food -- at best! Crab cakes were some of the worst I've ever had -- I would be shocked if they weren't frozen patties (in Maine!). Mexican dip had very bad refried beans from a can. The food is seriously better at Denny's! The worst part though is the service. This place clearly hates children and does not want them dining here. They have no high chairs, no plastic kids cups, no kids menu and absolutely nothing kid-friendly on the menu at all. Out of desperation we asked if we could please get some toast (or even bread!) so that our children would have something to eat. We were flatly denied -- they told us unequivocally that was not going to be possible. Even though there were at least 10 sandwiches on the menu!!! This was just not their "policy". Unbelievable. No idea what kind of place they think this is...it's a small outside patio with plastic chairs and tables located in the town of Ogunquit!!! How could you not be family-friendly????!!! Surly service, bad food and an affront to anyone dining with children. STAY AWAY!!!!

We went to Frills in between sunning ourselves at the Beach. It's within walking distance, but tucked away. On the menu, there is something for everyone. They have seafood, Italian and traditional American burgers. They even got creative with some of their dishes, including a lobster croissant. My friend and I also each got a cocktail, which were reasonably priced. The service was good and the location and pricing were great. I would highly recommend it anyone going to Ogunquit for the day.

  • Bob D.

There's nothing to complain about here but the food is not really interesting and the experience is forgettable. If you only have one night in town, there are better choices. Three stars because it is acceptable but I wouldn't go back.

A bit of Key West in Ogunquit. The best sangria in Maine. Maine shrimp taco salad is our favorite. All ingredients are super fresh and dressings, etc are homemade.

    (5)
  • Doven M.

The owners/managers expect subpar bar fare to make up for how terrible they treat their customers and the people around them. Its like going to an outdoor bar in key west that failed miserably.

While the review down below sounds like a real horror show, I assure you that nothing like that has ever happened when we've gone to Frills. [I'm not saying it didn't happen, just that I've never seen anything like it at Frills.] My wife and I have been going to Frills every summer for the last 4 years. We've always enjoyed the laid back atmosphere (we've been for lunch, pre-dinner drinks, dinner, and late night - not all in the same day!!) and "hidden quality" - despite the fact that it's right in the middle of all the hub bub and often quite busy. The bar staff has always been professional and nice to us. We really enjoy the girl that seems to work every day this summer. Is she the only bartender this year?? It's ok if she is as she's always ready to refill my drink before I even ask. The clams and calamari are great - and the turkey club (which we split) was fantastic and I was not left feeling hungry. (And I'm a big eater.) Not a huge fan of the bruschetta as I thought it was submerged in too much oil. We've never had table service - only bar. So I can only speak to that. We always have a hard time recreating a fun bar experience but so far, so good with Frills! Great martini & specialty drink list and very fun/interesting mix of tourists and long time locals. Great place to go right after the beach before you go out for the night.

This is my favorite place for lunch in Ogunquit, Maine. I eat lunch there most days of my vacation. I recommend the Lobster Croissant. There is 4 ounces of lobster meat in each lobster croissant. I order it with the pasta salad and a glass of ice tea. This place is nice because they play good music and you eat outside under a giant umbrella. Casual dining and good food. I also had the crabcake sandwich which was just as good. It is a bit small so I would not recommend this place for a group of more than 4 people. The tables comfortably seat up to 4. There may be a wait if it is busy but it is worth it.

A delightful late afternoon dining experience. Lobster croissant delicious as was the crab melt. Ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Definitely worth a return visit.

We had an excellent lunch here this past Monday. Everything got two thumbs up: my burger with bacon and bbq (with.great homemade chips), my wife's shrimp taco salad and the friendly efficient waitress. Oh and the reasonable beer and drink prices were appreciated.

Long story short...fantastic food & fantastic service. I ordered the burger, as I always do wherever I go, and it was outstanding! Probably in my top 10. Ridiculously fresh in every regard, from the grass-fed beef to the tomato slice. It also came out so hot I could barely pick it up to eat it. Great place. I'll be back!

What a treasure. Walking by we were intrigued and stop by for lunch this past sat...so glad we did. Food was excellent. Crab cakes with lots of crab, practically no fillers. BLT incredibly delicious...on homemade bread. Potatoe chips are made there...delicious. Everything served is made there, very fresh, very reasonably priced...will return for sure. A real find..go there..you will not be disappointed.

My family loves going to Frills for lunch and cocktails! The food is so good and is all homemade! The drinks are fantastic and are the cheapest in town! Even though Frills is an outdoor patio I'm never too hot in the summer. We actually wish that they would figure out a way to enclose the patio and heat it with heat lamps so that we could keep coming through the winter! We haven't been for dinner yet but when we do I will update my review! The restaurant closed Columbus day weekend for the winter season but we're hoping that they will open up early, maybe for Patriots Day weekend! Great owners, great homemade food, from the pasta salad to the chips! It's our first choice for lunch or afternoon drinks and apps in OGT!

I really like this place. It's on the main drag, but hidden in its own little garden down a path. The bar is very laidback, located within the garden, and they serve good drinks - don't miss their excellent gorgonzola cheese dip. It's a great late lunch spot, coming back from the beach, finding a shaded corner and sitting down to an excellent panini.

I went there last night with my wife, wow! outside dinning in OGT price was very reasonable, the steak tips melted in my mouth, the way the Steak House in Wells used to before they ruined it with low grade cuts of meat. My wife said it is her new favorite restaurant She had salmon, we shared a shrimp cocktail for an app could have been cooked a tad less, otherwise great meal...the ribs have a zing to them, so watch out...out door seating is great, the weather couldn't have been better. Just remember Ogunquit is a town for open minds people...

We live in the area and this is our second time at Frills. First time we had lunch, salads. Last night we had dinner. Bland wedding food, watered down cocktails. We will not be going back.

There were 7 in our party, the restaurant had just opened for dinner and all the tables were free. The waiter told us that they could not serve us because we had more than 6 people in our party. We told him we didn't mind if we were at separate tables and he still said "no". My husband thought he was kidding as we know the waiter because we are returning customers. I then proceeded to talk to Jody, the owner and bartender and she told us "no" we won't serve more then 6. I told her that we didn't mind if we were separated and she still said "no". We said are you seriously going to turn all this money away and she just shrugged her shoulders. We were flawed. This has got to be the worst customer service we have ever experienced. We will never go back, they just lost a repeat customer who has spent a lot of money here in the past. Shame on you Jody!

Hubby and I stopped here for a quick lunch last sunday. After a rich and expensive dinner the night before, a succulent breakfast at the inn we stayed at - we were ready for a lower key place for lunch. After walking up and around the shops in Perkins cove and not really finding anything that fit our budget much less made us jump we headed back to the car thinking eh what do we do now...as we were walking we saw a host and a menu board on the curb, kinda weird location hidden behind some shops but the prices were right so we decided to try it! VERY happy we did. We started with their mussels and gorgonzola cheese bread, mmmm mmmm! and it was huge. We each had the Vodka Tea which was mixed perfectly! Hubby had the crab cake sandwich and I had the fried shrimp jalepeno lime cilantro taco salad, both were O M G good and the portions were pretty big! the service was pretty good, still giving it 5 stars overall bc the gal was training a new server. When we come up again we will def hit this place!

We went to Ogunquit for a weekend and we discovered this place. We sat outdoors and enjoyed a very relaxed atmosphere. Drinks were good, the wine selection could be better. Their clam chowder and seafood pasta are a must have.

We went for lunch and the crab cake was pretty good. Unfortunately, the recommended lobster croissant and the lobster salad both had lobster that was tough. $65 for lunch - I expected much better- especially after all of the positive Yelp reviews.

GO TO FRILLS! The owners are fantastic, the service is quick and friendly, and the food is delicious. We stop at frills and sit at the bar every year that we visit Ogunquit and it has become a tradition for us. You won't be let down and, trust me, you will not get better cocktails for the price! Plus, what's better than eating/drinking outdoors?

If I could give them 0 I would...came here with friends from out of town on Jun 28th and was turned away by the young male host that night because we had a party of 7...3 of which were small children and were told it's their policy that they do to sit more that parties of 6...luckily another local restaurant was more than happy to seat us and had won my business. They really should mention this policy on their website or FB page before people go out of their way to drive there only to be turned away...

Stopped in after a nice day at the beach. I think we arrived right around the lunch/dinner switch. This liminal time was perfect. No wait- on Memorial Day as well! We started off with a Redhook brew. We had the buffalo shrimp. These were outstanding little shrimp battered and fried, and then coated with buffalo sauce. Next time I visit, I don't think I'd get that...nothing bad, just not exactly my scene. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had, here. The bun was outstanding, the sauce, bacon and cheese were perfect! My fiancee had the crabmelt. I think. It wasn't my favorite, but she seemed to like it! Our waiter was one of the most attentive I've ever been served by. Kudos!

Frills has really great food, fun outdoor dining, good tunes and reasonable prices. The large umbrella makes it more comfortable, and is an interesting object of engineering. All seven of us young and old liked what they had. Nice to have sandwiches and salads that aren't overly sauced or full of mayonnaise. Homemade chips are awesome. Seafood in dishes we had were yummy. Great roasted turkey club. Our server Steve was fantastic, very attentive.

Just a warning if you have kids - we stopped here to eat with our three year old and the host basically told us they didn't want kids (we got there at 5:30, so they were empty). That can be a plus if you don't have kids and want a quiet date (which is probably why they are that way) but kind of annoying if you have kids. We left so I can't comment on the food.

Food was not very good and the service was poor to say the least. Seating is cramped-- we were stuffed into a corner next to a window where the psychic and her husband sat, eating ice cream and surfing the Internet. The waitress tripped over the table next to us trying to get to us... Maybe that's why she ignored us!

After seeing the good reviews, tried to stop there for an early dinner only to be told by the hostess standing out front that they are not open until 5:30. It was 5:20. There were also a number of people already sitting at the bar and tables with dishes in front of them. Not sure why a place would be open for lunch but close before dinner during peak season in a tourist town. So, while we didn't get to try the food, this place gets only 2 stars due to rudeness of the host and lack of availability.

    (5)

The settings ok. Wasn't pleased with the portions of food you get for the price you pay. The crab cakes were mushy and tasteless.

Do not go here for dinner! They serve rice pilaf. Seriously, it looked like it came from a box with a spice packet included. The crabcakes we're soggy and aweful. The fried clams had a rubbery breading on them. Our waiter was really nice and timely. (+1star)

The owners/managers expect subpar bar fare to make up for how terrible they treat their customers and the people around them. Its like going to an outdoor bar in key west that failed miserably.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR DINNER. There are far too many rules and rude waitstaff/management. Last night, 7/1/12, after having appetizers and drinks in the bar area, our waitress let us know they would no longer serve food in the bar area as the main dining area was about to reopen again for dinner. We were a party of 9 and wanted to stay for dinner as half our party had just joined us and had not eaten yet. The waitress informed us that they could only have parties of 6 in the dining room, and even when we said we would split into two groups with two separate tables and two separate checks, we were still refused service. We asked to speak to a manager and after about 10 minutes we saw no manager, only the same waitress who said they would not be able to seat us for dinner because "she would know we were still one party" even though we were split into two with two checks. This seemed absolutely baffling to us that this restaurant was refusing to serve 9 eating, drinking, high paying customers. We have been to Frills in Ogunquit many times before and are locals to the area. We were treated extremely rudely and were basically told we needed to leave and we would not be allowed to eat dinner there for being a large group of people that was willing to split up! Needless to say we will not be dining at Frills anytime soon and will be spreading news of this horrible experience to our local eating, drinking, frequent Ogunquit visiting friends. Too bad this great spot is ruined by poor management.

We frequent this restaurant a lot, only open seasonally, and have always loved it. No longer. Does this make ANY sense?? Five of us met 4 other people at Frills (in the bar section), they had already had a few apps and a drink. We four ordered drinks and then told the waitress we would eventually like to move to the dinner section since they don't serve food in the cocktail area after 5. The waitress informed us they didn't serve parties larger than 6 during the dinner hours, so then we offered to split up into two parties, at 2 different tables, with two different checks...they refused to seat us! We were not loud, drunk or obnoxious and were a combination of older and younger adults. The dining area was virtually empty as it was early. (5:30 p.m.) At our request the waitress checked w her manager, who confirmed they would not be serving us due to the size of our party, despite our offer to split up. Obviously they don't care whether they get our business or not, so we will not be wasting our time and money at Frills anymore. What a bunch of boneheads.

Of the restaurants that I tried in Ogunquit, this was perhaps my favorite. The food was just wonderful. I do feel that it was a little pricy considering the environment you are eating in (somewhat NO-frills, though not horrible by any stretch). Having said that, if you are able to get a table on a clear night, you should do so. The service was exceptional when I was there, with our friendly waitress picking a great cocktail when prompted. Drinks and dinner came to the table quickly. The preparation of our dishes was far better than expected, considering the somewhat casual setting. Again, the bill came to a bit more than I might have expected, but if you are on vacation and can overlook that a little, this is a great choice.

Freshly-brewed iced tea, thick and creamy clam chowder, delectable entrees and killer cole slaw. Service was friendly, but they're usually pretty busy so be prepared to wait a few minutes. But soooooo worth it.

Next time, I'll bring some Girl Scout cookies! ;)

This is a management issue. 8 of us walk in to be seated. They state only parties of 4. So, we asked to be split up. By policy this is not allowed. "Since I already know that you are friends, we cannot split you into 2 different tables. Sorry, just weird.

Hate to disagree but both of the items we ordered were mediocre at best. So avoid the shrimp taco salad and the Mexican dip. The dip was canned and the lettuce in the salad was old. Just our luck!

Great dinner at Frills tonight on the last day of vacation. Fried clams appetizer was wonderful. Steve our waiter was very attentive and the service was fast. Will definitely go back there next time we are in Ogunquit.

We had an excellent lunch here this past Monday. Everything got two thumbs up: my burger with bacon and bbq (with.great homemade chips), my wife's shrimp taco salad and the friendly efficient waitress. Oh and the reasonable beer and drink prices were appreciated.
