Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

Got here just before noon on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Got very crowded soon after. The outdoor seating is really nice. The food was very good! Suggest ordering some bacon on the side for the chowder which together was great! My wife and I split the apple crisp, it was fantastic. Would definitely come back.

What else is there to say from my review from last year? This is one of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to. We come to Freeport from Nova Scotia not to shop, but to eat here. We sit on the patio, order cold beer and white wine, lobster roll and lobster stew and relax outside on the patio. We have been there three times this week. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else...I'm counting down the days - 360 - until I'm back here again.

We sat outside on the patio on a recent Sunday night. Good variety on the menu, friendly staff. The Chicken alfredo was delicious.

Master Tom is still hitting it out if the park! We come to Maine for fresh seafood. Tom catches a lot if the stuff he serves. He is a Fisherman turned chef. Yes you're going to have to wait. The best restaurants have a following so call ahead. He's working on expanding the place so take your complaints elsewhere and stay out of my way! I went there for the hat trick: chowder, lobster roll and fried clams. Nothing over done...the chowder didn't have potatoes, the lobster roll was chock full of fresh big chunks of what I went to a Maine for. Even my waitress, Alison was attentive...And She Was Cute too! It takes a master chef to kniw enough not to over power the natural fresh taste of food, partucularly sea food. Keep an eye on this place. I think you are going to continue to get blown away. We are going back tomorrow.

It was incredibly busy when my boyfriend and I went, and the service and food was still great! Fast, friendly, and yum!

Possibly the BEST burger I've ever had! Holy cow! A bit of a wait but well worth it! Draft beer selection is very good. I had a Alagash wheat that was very good.

Super friendly staff. Appetizers were a good size for main meal for us. Mussels amazing - lots of thick, delicious broth. - make sure to get some fresh soft and crusty rolls for dipping. Nachos were a large heap, we added chicken - loaded with lettuce, tomatoes and jalapeños. Our waiter allowed us to wait for the rest of our party to show up - missed his name - bearded guy. Super nice.

Lazy Lobster was chewy. Fried clams were $28 and half were French fries. Nice wait service, ambience and live music.

Under the previous owners this place had gone down hill. Under new ownership it is fantastic. The portions are great and everything thus far (3 times) has been awesome.

Delicious seafood! Must try the clam bellies. Friendly service and freshest seafood you can get.

Hamburger was average, fries were not hot, ice tea mix was terrible. Clam chowder was great and patio guitar player was great. Service was fair.

I was in town on business so we stopped by the Jameson for dinner. It was a Tuesday night and it wasn't very crowded. The service was pretty good and the food was good as well. I was a little disappointed in the look of the interior. I was expecting something older. Knowing this was an old Tavern I expected to sort of step back in time but that wasn't the case. Still, we all enjoyed the meal and I would go back again if I'm in the area.

This restaurant was really good when it was run by the original owners. We were very disappointed when it was closed but then about a year later we heard it was reopening but with new owners. We walked into the tavern and it didn't look anything like it did before. It was now very rustic and plain. Since it was cool outside we decided to eat inside. Even though it wasn't too busy, service was very slow. We eventually got our order - hamburgers with sweet potato fries. Everything tasted very greasy and it seemed more like a fast food restaurant now. Even though this restaurant was a place we would frequent when we visited Freeport, we probably won't return. There are so many better restaurants to get a good tasting meal.

Rustic restaurant. The entrees are simple but good. Baked Haddock is really good but the vegetables were under-cook.

Number one: the service and attentiveness to detail is great. The place was crowded when I walked in packages in tow. They got me to the bar quickly and the drinks were very good. Food was tasty as well. We started with the fondue and ended with spinach salad that they were happy to replace blue cheese with feta. Good place.

Pretty good place! The Lobster stew was delicious and creamy.... The meal I ordered (chicken with spinach, tomatoes, and feta with side of red potatoes) was very good. Onion rings were more like fried dough covered onions. Weird, but still sort of good. Large portions, small cramped space when busy. Waiter wasn't exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu but was pleasant and quick. Would return! 4 stars!

My wife and I grabbed some lunch here after some shopping. We sat outside, enjoyed a pint and got some rolls. I had the crab roll, which was good, I really liked the torpedo roll it was served on. My wife got the scallop roll which was delicious--and the we're able to sauté them instead of deep fry them. We subbed out side salads instead of fries and got the normal healthy Sur - charge (not mad about it, but just saying). The server was great, answered all of our questions, and the food came out in a timely manner. Prices were a little high for what we got, but the food was cooked as expected.

I like history. Jameson Tavern is an eatery with a very rich history, dating all the way back to 1779. I always enjoyed the Tap Room, a great place to grab a beer and a burger after shopping at LL Bean. Early in 2013, the restaurant closed its doors. I was really happy to hear the news that the former owner of the terrific Fisherman's Grill in Portland (home of one of the area's best lobster rolls), Tom Hincks, along with co-proprietor, Christian Erdmann, were re-opening Jameson Tavern in July. I've been meaning to stop by and with friends in town, we decided to meet up in Freeport for dinner. The place was hopping. I figured it would be on a Saturday night, and we made a reservation with that in mind. Unfortunately, when we got there, the hostess said there was a mix-up and it would be another 10-15 minutes 'til our table was ready. I wasn't real pleased, as that's why you make reservations, right? We plunked down on the bench in the hallway and it was only a mere 5 minutes of waiting, as the apologetic hostess had us seated. The place is smaller than I remember it, when the front of the house was the main, formal dining room. Jameson Tavern now occupies what was the former Tap Room. I had the Allies Trio, which was a cup of clam chowder, a small lobster roll, and fried clams, and french fries. My wife had the same. This is a hearty serving of food. While the clam chowder was overly thick and saltier than I prefer, the lobster roll was excellent and so were the fried clams. Our waitress also notified us that the first round of drinks were "on the house" because of the reservation snafu. That was a nice touch. I'd give Jameson Tavern a solid four stars for my first time back. If they can bump the service up just a bit (it was a little slow, although it was Saturday night), and maybe figure out a better situation for those waiting for tables, rather than being tucked in the entrance way, this would be a positive upgrade. This appears to be less of a problem during the summer months, as they have a good-sized patio area, which doubles the restaurant's capacity.

The two lobster special ($19.99) was two 1lb lobsters, perfectly steamed and with a stuffed baked potato and vegetable. The lobster roll a friend had was loaded with claw meat and the blueberry pie was incredible. The prices are right, the service is friendly and the food is very good. You can't go wrong here. Tip: Have a beer in the old historic tavern section. A great experience while shopping in Freeport's retail center.

OMG!!!! We finally got a chance to try this place out, since it went to a new owner! The portions were huge compared to other places we have been for the same price (especially the nachos, which by the way were awesome!) I got the seafood platter and it was delicious and hubby got baked stuffed haddock which was very tasty and we took home a doggie bag....okay it was more like a doggie truck load....did I say the portions were huge!! We took home another meal!!! So overall, I was very impressed by the Jameson and very glad that they reopened! Granted we were stuffed and didn't get to try their desserts, but I have a feeling we will be visiting them again! Oh, and the atmosphere and our waiter were excellent!!!

I was wary at first to try out Jameson's but the other recent reviews were spot on. This is not a restaurant to be missed!! We had the clam chowder, lobster stew, baked haddock, lazy lobster, and stuffed lobster. Each one was a winner. The clam chowder was nice and creamy with big chunks of clam in it, light enough to not make you feel gross but didn't cheat you on the experience - there are no potatoes so every chunk you get is clam. I ordered the lobster stew based on reviews on four square. It was really good but not really my kind of soup. It's all lobster - a whole claw and half a tail with other chunk lets. The cup was literally half lobster and half soup/sauce. The soup itself was an excellent companion for the lobster, creamy and buttery, but on its own a bit strong for me. Still I wished that a piping hot dish of it came with the lobster to dip it in. The lazy lobster is great when you don't want to fight for your food. The baked lobster was pretty easy, with the tail easy to pull out and tons of stuffing complete with six scallops on top. The claws were sweet and succulent. Prices were very reasonable. Market price of the baked lobster was 28$ - not bad for a lobster filled with scallops, fish, and lobster meat stuffing. If you're in Freeport you need to go!!

Hitting Freeport during a long weekend before going home to Boston, we decided to stop to have a drink and a late lunch. I had eaten here before, and didn't remember being wow'ed but I knew it was fairly decent. We sat outside, and were able to flag down someone to give us menus. We saw that they had pumpkinhead, on the sign for specials, and ordered those- but halfway through our meal, we found a drink menu on another table that would've been nice to choose from. The service was fine, and our food came in a reasonable time (we were bought bread and butter but no silverware or napkins, so the butter was pointless) My biggest disappointment was that my BLT had no mayo. I probably could've made a better sandwich at home and saved $10. Good in a pinch, but I prefer other places in Freeport... nothing special...I probably won't be back.

Good food, quick service. I suggest the Tavern Cobb Salad. Staff were pleasant and polite. It was a little noisy and the tables were very close together. Overall positive experience; I'd definitely visit again.

Great chowder. Nice historic site. Server didn't write down our order so food was not correct on first delivery. This was resolved in 5 minutes.

Went to lunch while shopping in Freeport had the Clam Chowder, the special Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp and Grilled Swordfish, the portion was excellent and plentiful. The Shrimp and Swordfish were grilled to perfection. I had a delicious bowl of Clam Chowder it was the best I have had while in Maine. My partner had the special Crab Roll which is an offshoot of the Lobster Roll tons of crab with just the right of mayonnaise tucked in a nicely grilled bun. It was served with a cup of the Clam Chowder. We has some of our favorite brews Angry Orchard Hard Cider. The service was adequate and our server was friendly and very helpful. The kitchen was a little slow but good fresh food takes time. Would definitely go back while shopping in Freeport Maine.

We got in to Freeport at about 8 pm and was pointed in this direction by the proprietor of our bed & breakfast. We were not disappointed! My wife had the crab roll. It was very good. I had the fish and chips. The fish was very tender and not died out as fish and chips often are. The service was quick and the staff friendly. I would definitely recommend. Located next door to LL Bean.

They just redid this place and they did bang up job. Much better atmosphere and a fresh, locally sourced menu. We had the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken and the seared scallops. Everything - including the very friendly wait staff - was great. If you've been to the old Jameson Tavern, come back and try them renewed. If you've never been, definitely try it out.

Best meal we have had in Maine. Stuffed Haddock excellent. Twin Lobster dinner ($18 !!!) excellent, too. Dessert - had blueberry pie a la mode ... the best!! Great selection of craft brews also.

A smile from the staff would have made our visit to the Tavern a whole different experience. My wife and I live in Freeport and like to frequent the local restaurants and pubs. We had not been to Jameson since it had reopened. We did not want a meal, just sit at the bar, have a drink and an appetizer and then continue our winter evening in Freeport. My wife had a cocktail and I a local beer. We ordered the crab cakes. The crab cakes were nothing special but we did not expect much anyway. The one thing we noticed is that none of the staff ever smiled; not the host, the bartender, the waitstaff or the other staff moving from kitchen to floor. Our bartender never thanked us and when we left and walked past the host he never said a word. We were hoping that Jameson would provide a friendly environment to us locals. I'm sure the food is fine as the reviews say it is and the restaurant was crowed. To the owners; "Please smile and thank your guests for spending their time and money at your location".

I ate at Jamison's for the third time yesterday - I had the lobster stew and it's the best I've ever had - I was with six friends - one had a lobster roll, two had crab melts, one had clam chowder, one had fish and chips and one had a marinated chicken sandwich. Everyone raved about their meals. I have to say the new owners are doing an outstanding job - if you haven't been - give it a try. And if you are reading these reviews make sure you check the date - they are out of order and most of the bad reviews are for the previous owners. Anything before July of this year should be ignored.

Food was really slow. 1/2 our food came out then it was another 10 minutes before the rest of us got food. Waitress forgot my dinner. Brought it out to go 10 minutes after we were ready to leave. Table next to us also was waiting a very long time for food. We were there on a Monday and it was not overly crowded.

If your nostalgic, this is a great old fashion pub. Food was very good. This is my second trip to Freeport, ate there both trips. A better experience without kids. The bar has sports action an adult atmosphere.

*sigh* When I think back, we should have left from the get go. When we arrived, the outdoor patio was full...good sign? Negatory! Our group of 7 needed to pull tables together in order to eat as a group. The bus boy seemed to think we were PIA's as he was setting down the utensils...touching the parts that you put in your mouth. Oh yum. Our waitres finally made an appearance and took our orders. Specials? What specials? Annoyed at us? Totally. Seems that one is not allowed to be undecided after 5 minutes of perusing the menu without even being served glasses of water on a hot day. So we order...and wait...and wait....the one person of our party that ordered an appetizer received it 35 minutes later. A watery looking lobster stew. We did manage to get our drinks beforehand - and a second round before we saw any of our food emerged from the kitchen. Our waitress was MIA most of the time...until 45 minutes later when we received our meals. I ordered the veggie wrap and sweet potato fries...a sprinkling of fries. The food was ok. Nothing memorable and the veggies were a little too greasy for my taste. The fries were good, When we received our bills and the tips were already included since wer were a party of 7 BUT did wait a minute. No explanation? Apology? Crack a smile lady? My friend grabbed our bills and spoke to the manager who was mortified by the shabby service and took 50% off our bills and told us not to tip a penny. We left...hungry & annoyed.

We took our family up to Freeport for the day and were looking around for a place to eat dinner. This place had the whole historic/cute and christmasy vibe so we decided to try it out. Note: We knew this was going to be the typical touristy new england fare so did not going into it expecting anything gourmet. I thought the decor inside was cute and cozy, definitely a lot warmer than the cold air outside! Since the family was visiting new england, everyone decided to opt for various seafood dishes. What we found was that the broiled/fresh seafood dishes made for a nice well rounded meal while any of the fried dishes left something to be desired: Clam Chowder: Nice and meaty, delicious and would definitely try again. Fried Shrimp: Just plain not good and not wort the $ Fish and chips: File that under the same category as the fried shrimp. Haddock with Dill Havarti: I thought this dish was quite good and with a standard baked potato and green beans, nothing too special but a solid dish. Baked Scallops: Also thought this was a solid dish, nothing special but a nice buttery flavor, also served with potato and green beans. As for the service, the waiter was not overly friendly, but was prompt and brought us the correct dishes. We were also seated right away. I would probably want to try something different in Freeport next time we come, but it was a decent experience.

Horrible. Bad Service, Bad Prices, Bad Food. Avoid. We almost walked out after waiting 45 minutes for our food and watching tables that were seated after us get served before us. I'll never go there again, instead going to the Broad Arrow Tavern at the Harraseeket Inn up the street.

Heard about this place's award-winning chowda on food network so was looking for authentic mainer food. I walked into the "Tap Room" and just stood there not knowing if I should sit down or wait to be seated. After 2 minutes the bartender returned and stated I could sit anywhere. After exchanging several glances with the cute waitress I learned that she was no my waitress and she made a gesture to someone in back to take my table. It was odd because it seemed she wanted to help me but if she did she would be breaking protocol and would have upset my waitress, who, finally, after 10 min before, finally appeared in what was a relatively quiet tuesday lunch. I got the "Downeast Special"... Disappointed! The croissant was not flaky as described, rather cold and mushy. Lobster was ok but I was too busy trying to manage the pasty croissant sticking to my teeth to enjoy the taste. The chowda was ok, but award-winning?? Not so sure. Anyway I walked out not so happy and should have gone to a stand. Erika, my waitress, seemed to be the alpha and ruled the dining room and that came across rudely to the tables, or at least to me...I think this is why the other waitresses didn't help me. She had this sort of arrogance to her and entitlement. It was funny because at the end she was boasting to the other table that she runs 5 miles a day and smokes a half pack of cigarettes a day. I believe the story bout the smokes, but not the 5 miles a day! Will never go back and will suggest others not either. It definately is a tourist trap because it's a great location.

Too bad this restaurant has such a beautiful area for outside dinning the waiter and host were dressed terribly looked as if they just got out of bed and threw on their most beat up clothing, shoes ect... The menu was extremely large for a "pub" the waiter asked if I was ready to order before I was even finished looking it over. I got the crap roll the crab mix tasted like nothing slaw was warm and the person I was eating with ordered a salad and it never came. I would give this place a one start if it didn't have such a beautiful outside eating area. Other than that do not recommend under any conditions.

Excellent restaurant next to L.L.Bean. I had baked stuffed haddock with roasted red potatoes and green beans. Everything was excellent, haddock stuffed with crabmeat stuffing and pieces of lobster.

On the way home from a trip up north to camp we stopped here to try and find a place with lobster rolls for an out of towner we were traveling with, being the off season we had few choices so Jamesons it was...And we got had! The lobster rolls were all claw meat and were $18.95 or so each! The menu said market prices for the lobster and god damn it that was MUCH MUCH more than market price. The place was rather dumpy and sad. Go ahead and try this place out if you are desperate for a bite after shopping all day but much better pub fare can be found a short drive away in Portland.

Our waitress was lovely! She managed to score the last order of crabcakes in the house for my brother. I found the fish and chips here to be great - tender fish, crispy and flaky batter, perfectly tangy tartar sauce, and crisp french fries. The blueberry pie a la mode - stuffed full of local, Maine blueberries with a soft, doughy crust - was the perfect ending to the meal. Thrown in an Allagash White - one of my favorites - and you've got a well-rounded, if not well-balanced dinner. The history of the tavern makes eating in the place a neat experience if you can imagine the many people passing in and out of the grand home throughout the last century.

I ate in the bar area on April 28th. I had wait on the hostess to arrive to tell me about eating in the bar or dinning room. The mussels appetizer was excellent! The bowl was heaping with mussels, each of which was flavorful and tender. The waitress, Ellen, was attentive and yet allowed me to sit and enjoy the ambiance. I wasn't in a hurry, but felt the service was timely. The menu is pricey, but not unreasonable for a tourist area and for the amount of food. I observed the food served at the other tables and wished I had room to sample some of the other menu choices.

Don't go to this place, the service was horrible, rude and very inconsiderate... there are so many other nice places in freeport for lunch or dinner to go to... Let me start off with the hostest didn't know what her job was and couldn't tell us if there was a wait or not, when we got seated the waitress was so rude and it felt like she didn't want to be there almost as much as we should have... we got our first round of drinks in a timely manner but after we finished it took more than 40 min. for her to even come back to the table. Food took forever, and was not good.... service was awful... and when we went to complain to the manager there was no one in sight. at that point it was more important for us just to leave this awful place then to stick around and tell the manager how much we hated it, and what were they going to do? give us a gift card to come back? HELL NO DON"T GO!!!!

Jameson Tavern is under new management. Tom Hincks previously owned Fisherman's Grill on Forest Ave in Portland. The reviews at that location were practically all 5 star until recently (after he left). His seafood is amazing. Anyone can cook seafood and hope it comes out alright but Tom seems to have a much higher standards in the quality of the seafood used and the final product he puts out. I have not had a bad meal at either of his places. Among his specialties, in my mind, is his home made clam chowder, clean, light fried clams, his home made cole slaw and tarter sauce. At the Fisherman's Grill, he had the biggest lobster rolls I had ever seen. Atmosphere is amazing in this over 200 year old building. I highly recommend this place. If you have been before and did not like it, give it another try under Tom's management. Try the clams and chowder.

We had a lovely lunch here during a stopover on our way up to Canada. Excellent burger and good Cobb salad. Prices are a little high, but the quality is there, so it is ok. We would surely return. Also had very good service from nice waitress.

Just stopped here on our way home from Acadia for lunch. Pretty decent food. I was nervous with the low reviews but it looks like it switched ownership and has improved from what I read. I got one of the specials- crab roll with cup of clam chowder- and was very happy. Tons of crab meat on the buttery toasted roll & the meat wasn't overly dressed either. Clam chowder was good but less impressive- a little on the salty side. Service was decent... Not amazing but good and server was nice.

I have eaten here before and it was ok... Not so much this time around. We were a party of seven, eating lunch on a Monday. It was busy but nothing crazy. Our server, Dawn visited fairly quickly, took our drink order, got us our drinks then proceeded to take our food order. First of all, she never mentioned the specials - we saw those after and was disappointed as a couple of them looked good and then secondly, gave us attitude because we were not ready to order. Once we did order, we proceeded to wait for 40 minutes - it was as if our server had disappeared. She never brought the soup appetizer that someone in our party had ordered, never came by to offer refills on drinks - nothing! And, a party that sat down 20 minutes after us got their lunch within 15 minutes of ordering. We finally flagged down another server to see if she could help. Within a couple of minutes, the soup was delivered and then two mins later we had our entrees. With no apology or explanation whatsoever. The food was ok although the portion of sweet potato fries that we each got was really disappointing and everything else was just mediocre. Then we got our bills. Not only was there no verbal apology, there was no effort on the bill to appease us AND she added in an 18% gratuity! I went to find the manager because at the very least, we wanted to express our dissatisfaction through less-than-stellar tipping. The manager, Shelly was extremely nice and removed not only the gratuity but took a % off the entire bill. Better. So at the end of the day, the food was ok, the location and outdoor seating was nice but the service was not. I might go back but then again there are several other restaurants in that immediate area that I have never had an issue with. I do commend the actions of management, but clearly they need to look in to revamping their wait staff.

I think they need to do something here both about the food and the service. This tavern is located in a prime location, right on the side of LL Bean, but it is really quite lacking. Service was horrible; it was not crowded, later afternoon, and it still took about 45 minutes from entering the place to get any food before us. Ten minutes after placing drink orders, they finally came out. Spinach-artichoke dip was good, everything else was so-so (think Denny's) and there are very limited options for vegetarians. Great beer selection and a kids menu available. The waitress came by with the check and 10 minutes later, after saying to another server that she had to go make honey mustard sauce, she finally came back to run the credit card. They use biodegradable to-go packages (good!), so these things will start to disintegrate shortly if you have leftovers (bad!). Overall, I would say, don't bother unless you just go sit at the bar or in the summer want to have a drink outside and you are not worried about service. If you want pub food, try the Haraseeket Inn Tavern 2 blocks away on Hwy 1. I remain hopeful with the mediocre reviews, the place will better train their staff and update the menu a bit.

There food is very good. I had there seafood chowder which was exactly how I remembered it in Portland ! The absolute best, but a bit more expensive. My only disappointment was the crabmeat roll. I know my crabmeat and this did not seem fresh to me. I know there has been a shortage, so I was a little bummed. Other than that, my experience there has been terrific ! The first time I had fried scallops and they were to die for and you got alot of them! Highly recommend that dish!

Fourth of July Weekend = Small Town America Drinking in Maine = Traffic's Gridlocked, Want a Drink? Venue: Right next to LL Bean's massive store, is a local pub. It serves pub food and booze, so who can complain? After a great fireworks display and a few Patty Lovelace songs, every one rushed to their cars to head home. We made the mistake of parking somewhere near the field instead of walking from our B&B, and there was no way we were going to wait in the exceedingly long line of cars. So, we did what any good alcoholic should do: we went for another drink This is small town America, so the prices are more reasonable to me, especially for $3 drafts and $4 bottles--although that may have just been because it was the Fourth. Regardless, prices looked pretty good over all. And located in the middle of downtown, you can't miss it for a quick lunch or drink. The patio was also a great stop to watch the extra fireworks blast off from. Food: The menu looks like typical tavern food, with an attempt at being a little more high class. We didn't part take in any, but our hosts at the B&B say it's not a bad place, especially if you looking for a good, hearty American meal. Nothing to go out of the way for, but it's open late so it's a good option if you're in town.

Was just at the Jameson tavern next to llbean. It is under new ownership. Tom the previous owner of fisherman's grill in Portland is cooking up the most delicious seafood in New England. I had the lobster roll it remains to be the best in Maine. My girlfriend had the lobster salad with a lime and cilantro vinaigrette dressing. So good. Do yourself a favor come to the Jameson tavern you will not be disappointed! I realize that at the moment the ratings are low but that is the prior owner not Tommy.

Ok I don't know what the deal is with the very few good reviews but my husband and I are fans of this place! It came HIGHLY recommended by a couple we met in Bar Harbor, ME who would stop at this restaurant everytime they went to Freeport for shopping. My husband and I went for dinner on our first night in Freeport and it was great! For one, its a tavern, so keep that in mind! The staff was very nice and you sit where you want. I wouldn't go if you were in a hurry though, everyone is very relaxed and laid back so this is a place to just chill out, have a nice dinner, have good beer and watch a few games with friends! They even had Irish coffees (YUM!) The beer selection was great, and our server was very helpful on the various options. I had a whole lobster (when in Rome...or in my case Maine, as they say) and it was wonderful and my husband had a burger which he said was also very good! We also had their lobster stew and it was wonderful! It was pretty much no-nonsense, good food/beer and a really laid back place. I wish we had room for blueberry pie but next time! If we come by this way we'll be stopping in again!

I really wanted this place to be good, but damn, did it ever disappoint. I read some of the Yelp! reviews, and decided to stay away from the lobster. That's right, I'm in Maine, and I don't order lobster. I went for the fried clam roll with a pint of Guinness. The Guinness was perfect, however the clams were downright disgusting. Before biting into the sandwich, I noticed one of the clams appeared to have something black on it, which I thought was something from the fryer. But upon further inspection, the clam was loaded with some black substance which smelled like siht. The bartender was nice enough, and replaced with my meal with something a little less poisonous. I would never go back to this place, unless I had a full stomach, and plan on just having Guinness

wasn't sure what to expect after reading reviews on Yelp; my seafood platter was excellent, nicely breaded and not too greasy. My husband's ldobster stew was good but thin and not a "stew" with potatos etc. Crab cake appetizer was OK but seemed to have a lot of filler

We had arrived late after a day of shopping at the outlets and at LL Bean. The restaurant is right next to LL Bean and offers an ambiance of an older restaurant. We were initially seated in an odd room and requested a better seat in the main dining room which was basically empty. I was not sure why we were seated in the side room. I had ordered the side salad and a bowl of steamers. You get quite a few steamers for the price accompanied by what I think was clam au jus and butter. I am not used to the East Coast steamers I think because each an every one of them came extruding with the little psedupod which I am not a particular fan. So I ate only a 1/3rd of the dish.. The salad was fine. My friend ordered the Lobster Bisque which was basically a bowl of cream with lobster pieces. Not a lot of lobster pieces included. Basically, it was like eating a spoonful of cream and butter, I am not sure who wants to have that as a soup. Yuck! The only redeeming factor of this restaurant was the fresh rolls, crusty and warm and the beer..

Been to Freeport a number of times but never ate here. Decided to try it as a second option for lunch. Had lobster stew for the first time and it was outstanding. Comparing it to Jordan Pond House in Acadia the Jameson Tavern one was better though they were both really good. I had the reuben and it was the typical pub fare. The others had lobster roll and fried clams and enjoyed them very well. I will be back especially for the lobster stew, that in itself is worth many visits.

Uninspired, sad iceberg lettuce salad & frozed from a bag breaded shrimp. I thought we were in Maine where seafood is fresh. This place was a disappointment. The waitress asked if we were staying for trivia night. I guess because we said 'no,' the server failed to tell us about the free cheese appetizers around the corner by the entrance.

    (2)
  • A. K.

Terrible. We waited for over 20 minutes to discover that the restaurant was mostly empty. We then waited for the server who didn't appear to have many tables but took literally forever to get anything accomplished. The food was literally awful and disappointing. I was really really hungry and that usually helps the taste but I could barely choke my $13 wrap down. The prices were astronomical for the quality of food. Avoid at all costs.

When you come to Jameson's ask for a table on the covered patio up stairs. Don't worry it is enclosed and heated. It was about 40 degrees when we were in Maine. The waitress was awesome, fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the lobster stew. Not only is it delicious but there is a ton of lobster in it. I ordered the scallops that was also a generous portion. The taste was just fine, this isnt Napa Valley food, but it is good. All in all, we had a very romantic, cute dinner in a nice atmosphere with a relaxed attitude.

Quality food. Basic. Average but definitely not bad service. Simple. It seems either to actually be or try hard to appear as a simple country pub. The prices aren't bad and the food is good enough to make it an option when you're shopping in Freeport. Right on the main drag too.

Ate at Jameson Tavern this evening for the first time ever. Decided to try it because we had a Portland Dine Around card which stated we could have up to $15 off of the 2nd entree. The food was great, great portions, and the service was OK. The waiter stated they no longer accepted the PDA card since under new ownership since July 2013. Had we known this in advance we would have gone elsewhere. Our main reason for having a PDA card is to try lots of restaurants and decide which ones we want to go back to. Great way to market and promote restaurants and bring new folks through the door. Its unfortunate that the new owners are not recognizing the benefits, and could not have honored the card for the remaining of the year, and then not renewed it for 2014. It ended our otherwise enjoyable dining experience with us not wanting to ever return!

Super nice.

Got here just before noon on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Got very crowded soon after. The outdoor seating is really nice. The food was very good!

They just redid this place and they did bang up job. Much better atmosphere and a fresh, locally sourced menu. We had the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken and the seared scallops.

Friendly and attentive staff and good outdoor seating. We have gone here for years but feel the quality of the food has gone down. Prices went up and the food is not the same!

Uninspired salad, dry and bland haddock, over cooked corn, boring rolls, dated decor, chipped paint, bare tables in the main dining room, paper napkins... Need I say more? Don't waste your time!!!

After walking around shopping all day we popped in here for a drink. It's definitely nothing fancy but was fine for what we were looking for. Our server was attentive, we were able to watch some college football and enjoy our coffee drinks. Very convenient to the shops.

  • A. K.
