It has great reviews, but I just don't get it. I've tried this place a few times and it just isn't clicking. I mean, maybe it's not you, Jetties', it's me. I will say that they have a very quick service and that the restaurant is very clean. However, as a salesman, I expect other salesmen to smile and provide a friendly greeting when I wonder in their store or restaurant. There are just a few things about the atmosphere here that make me uncomfortable, such as the constant cold temperature. Other awkward inducing aspects include the weird forms you have to fill out in order to make a purchase and the fact nobody tells you about it until you wonder up to the counter, which of course makes you feel foolish. Another joke on the customer, is the fact that the drinks are behind your back as you face the register, such that you spin around wondering and asking aloud your possible drink preferences while the salesman looks down at you like you're foolish. ... How about a drink list on the menu? or behind the register even? This place is a decent if you want to pay a little more for a salad, though. I got the cheapest version and my bill (including my soft drink) was over $10, which is unreasonable considering it was vegetarian. They also neglected my mushrooms, which was disappointing because you can only select 3 ingredients without incurring extra costs, so I paid for 3 and received 2. A salad with meat would have been more like $15 or so, and for a salad with no bread, that is unfair, and yes, even in Bethesda. I can say that there are 3 better Bethesda alternatives, with 2 being in walking distance. Guapo's has a salad and also lunch items for less, while also including chips and salsa, and also Sweet Green near the new Bethesda area, which has better and less expensive salads, which even include bread! Chop't is in the Wildwood Shopping Center up North, on Old Georgetown Road, and they have big salads with bread at a comparable price, but better customer service excellence.

Tom Nevers $12 (5/5 NOMs) Its noming time at one of the best sandwich shops in Bethesda, DC foodie neighborhood. Forget one meat and go for all three in this one giant pretty much all meat sandwich. Mhhh its a perfect meaty combination of crunchy bacon, lean roasted turkey and soft shaved ham. Big fan of the lightly toasted sourdough, it held everything together with a nice bready flavor. Thats a lot of food in there and you can easily save half for the next day. Might require you to put those big mouth skills to work to bite that whole thing. Even though there is so much nomnom things in in there, the sandwich is very light and doesn't give you food coma. Cisco Sandwich $9 (5/5 NOMs) Do you know a ham maneuver? Noming on some sandwiches in Bethesda down town, DC's fancy suburbs. Oh yea love all that thick layer of ham goodness. You would think with so much of it the only thing to shine would ham? Well your hungry face is wrong! The combination of caramelized onions, swiss cheese and honey dijon is what makes this dish so amazing. It adds that extra kick of flavor and softness. Everything plays so well together that it just might be a perfect sandwich. The Nobadeer Thanksgiving dinner sandwich is still the number one raigning chamption of this place, but Cisco is coming in strong second for sure. Reviews for Jetties

Jetties serves really delicious sandwiches and salads made with high-quality, perfectly seasoned turkey. But they are super expensive! The service is decent and the space is pretty large - usually no trouble finding a seat inside or outside. Come to Jetties if you're looking to treat yourself to a tasty lunch (order the Surfside!), but don't come here on a regular basis - save your money. Today I paid $13 for a custom salad (turkey, avocado, and some veggies) - no drink. It was really good (mostly because of the turkey), but I'd hesitate to say it was worth the price. Don't make my mistake - definitely order a sandwich. All in all, I think this is a solid occasional sandwich spot, but the high prices keep it from being a regular part of my lunch rotation.

Like 95% of mini-chain sandwich shops, it gets the job done but fails to overly impress. The sandwiches are good, but lack any 'wow' factor given the steep price ($10+ for a basic sandwich, $2.50 extra for a drink and another $1.50 for chips). The salads are disappointing and not worth the price when there are much better options in Bethesda. Overall three and a half stars, added half a star for the Nantucket theme (although it is a bit random).

Had the vegetarian salad and it's good, just a little pricey for the food. Food comes out quickly.

So, all the sandwiches are named for Nantucket beaches. It keeps with their beach theme, fine, but I hate when places feel the need to get cutesy with their names. I've been here dozens of times, and I couldn't tell you the name of a single sandwich I like there. Nevertheless, there are more important things to worry about - such as the food. If you're a bacon fan, this could be your type of place. Both the egg salad and one of the turkey sandwiches are loaded with delicious, crispy bacon. My favorite, though, is the turkey salad sandwich, er, the Steps Beach, or so the website tells me. It has turkey salad with golden raisins, apples, tarragon, tomato, and arugula on toasted multigrain. What a perfect combo. The turkey is thick and juicy and matches perfectly with the sweet raisins both in taste and texture. I never tire of it.They have some soups available too - chilli, clam chowder, maryland.crab - but those are just ok. Not a ton of meat to them, and a bit watery. They always have a big crowd here during the lunch hour, but the turnover is impressive. They're very quick, and get people in and out as efficiently as any restaurant I've seen in Bethesda, and there are always plenty of tables available. The set-up can get a bit awkward, though, as you have to push through a narrow space, past the people waiting for their orders, to get to the line. But I can live with that.

Love this place. Some of the best sandwiches in this area. I'm from the NY/NJ area and am used to great sandwiches. Only thing I wish they had was french baguettes. Lastly, I find this somewhat entertaining, but when I was there earlier today, they were playing the song "88 Lines about 40 Women" on their iPod player. Examples of the lyrics, "Joan thought men were second best to masturbating in the bath." Not the most professional song to be playing during dinner time, especially at a place where children come in for ice cream....

Thanks to Mike B for introducing me to all things Bethesda! I'm not typically a sandwich girl (give me a rice bowl any day!) so I wasn't really expecting to wax poetic over my meal here but Jettie's proved me wrong! Their Monomoy sammy was a gigantic monstrosity stuffed to the brim with hot roast beef (thickly cut, no gristle, just perfect) married with cheesy, melty provolone all on an oven toasted bun. At $8.95, I felt like it was a fair price for a lunch time sandwich especially considering the quality and size. Since my two other CM's decided to get soup as well, I joined in on the fun with a small cup of clam chowder. Soup was serve yourself and I found myself standing on my very tippy toes to reach the ladle. If you are under five foot three, I highly recommend asking someone of better stature to get the soup for you or risk a mess! The danger was worth it though, my soup was creamy and chock full of clammy goodness. The next time the sammy bug hits me, I definitely know where to go!

Yesterday, when it was a beautiful day out I stopped at Jetties on my way home. I am such a fan of the muskeget salad, even now my taste buds are dancing. The crisp greens and tender turkey are delicious. The sweet mandarin oranges and crispy Chinese noodles are delightful. The dressing is so good that I wish they bottled it. I would buy a case. It is so wonderful and the portions are generous. The turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich is another yummy favorite. It is not cheap, but worth every dollar. I should also mention that they have great children's meals as well. If you are in the Bethesda area it is a great grab and go meal. Enjoy.

For a place that advertises Giffords ice cream, it is not the place to go for a sundae. $5.95 for a sundae and at the end they inform you that they don't have hot fudge or any syrup for that matter. Disappointing.

I had a great sandwich here (Sconset? I think?) avocado, hummus, sprouts, carrots, maybe some other veggies on a grain bread. Seems like they make some unique stuff. I hope to be back soon but I got it to go late a night so I can't speak much to anything else.

The sandwiches are worth the prices, in my opinion. I went for the one with portobello mushrooms and goat cheese first, and also tried the Nobadeer (turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing) on Yelp's recommendation, but my favorite is the Steps Beach -- love golden raisins and apples on savory sandwiches. The sandwich bread is also uniformly good. I haven't ordered ice cream here but have had the brand (Giffords) elsewhere. It's on the light side for ice cream, but it's pretty tasty.

The Nobadeer was absolutley delicious! I just wish there was more turkey vs. stuffing! So good though, we will be back!

I love Jetties for so many reasons. I'm just gonna make a short list. 1. Remarkably tasty salads with house made dressings ( shout outs go to the peanut honey and chili-ranch) 2. The house roasted turkey breast is Glorio-wonderfu-amaz-ma-awesome-tastic 3. All of their ingredients are so fresh, it begs the question, " is there a farm in the stock room?" 4. The place is clean as a whistle (especially the bathrooms) 5. You can customize any salad or sandwich 6. They always have great soups 7. The prices are moderately high but, " you get what your pay for." 8. The seating is comfortable and aplenty 9. They are usually playing great 80's hits 10. They are consistent in their quality and quantity Cheers to you Jetties! You deserve it!

Great sandwiches...too pricey. I hit this place in desperate moments only, when I am ready to eat, and not ready to cook. This is definitely a good choice for fresh sandwich ingredients and a variety of options. However, if you can wait a bit, look for a Cosi's...it's cheaper. I went in recently and ordered two sandwiches. The order was wrong and they quickly worked to correct it. The restaurant was very crowded so it took some time for them to finish my order. When it was finished, they handed me the bag and walked away. I didn't have that warm, fuzzy, "I want to come back" feeling. If it were me behind the counter, I'd have thrown in a free cookie or chips to say, "Hey, sorry we messed up the order." That would have made me feel better about paying $27 for two sandwiches, two bags of chips, a bottle of water, and a pop.

  • Laura R.

Overall, it's super inconsistent and too pricey for what you get. The build a salad option starts at $8 and if you want add-ons like avocado, you'll be charged $2 each. The worst part is...you can't predict how much you're actually paying for. Today I paid for avocado but when I got the salad there were only two slim slices on top. Clearly if you're having a salad made for you, you pay way more than making it yourself, but $2 for maybe 1/4 of an avocado is insane even for Bethesda. The sandwiches off the menu leave less room for variation, and while they're still expensive, you're probably better off ordering one of them than designing a salad.

  • Alexa G.

SO EXPENSIVE. Went for a salad today at lunch and my total was $13.80 REALLY?? My salad had nothing magical. I've also had their sandwiches and they're around $10+. These prices don't include drinks or chips or sides. Very pricey. Their CISCO sandwich is very delicious but its overpriced. I do not think I will return. I know this is Bethesda but this place is over priced and a rip off.

  • Nick C.

Almost dropped a star for the nerve this place has for charging $.45 for a tomato... luckily it was a damn good tomato. Decent sandwich from a place with a diminished sense of hype since opening in Bethesda. The fresh turkey is great, the veggies are fresh, and the bread is serviceable, but the like most people hinted at, something just seemed to be missing. I will give it a second try somewhere down the road and check back with an update.

Talk about your hustlin' and bustlin' lunch place! I met up with the illustrious Mike B and Kimberly S for a Yelp DMV Community Manager work day (which always means I'm probably guaranteed to like wherever we go based on the company alone, but I digress) and Mike chose his favorite sandwich spot, Jettie's. After finding parking, which in Bethesda is never an easy feat (thankfully there's a garage just down the street!) I popped into Jettie's, which is in the middle of a triangular courtyard-type thing, and pretty easy to spot from the street. It's long and narrow, set up so that you can fill out your paper order slip with whatever sandwich or salad you like, and then hand it to the friendly folks behind the counter. I went with the Monomoy sandwich, which is a toasted roast beef sammy served au jus (dipping makes everything better!), and I guess I have good taste because Kimberly opted for the same thing! I also got a cup of their calm chowdah because I was ravenous, but in the end it was probably a waste because the sandwich was so filling I barely had a quarter of my soup. Which is okay because it wasn't the most amazing chowdahhh ever anyway, but it did the job. My sandwich, on the other hand, was AWESOME though. Overflowing with roast beef, the bread was nice and toasty, and the jus was plentiful (nothing worse than running out of juice before you run out of sammich!). It had melted cheese and pretty much plain melted my heart. So, five stars for the sandwich, and just a little bit off because the soup was mediocre IMO. I guess Jettie's does deserve a bonus phantom star, though, given that it's so close to where super Yelper Ruth C works -- she was able to stop by for a quick hi and hello! :D

Great place. the Nobadeer sandwich is incredible. I go to Jetties relatively often. And each time I do, after looking over the menu, I end up buying the Nobadeer, certain to substitute the mayo for honey mustard. The soup here is tasty as well. The staff are all very courteous, quick, and friendly.

Great beachside themed sandwich shop in Bethesda, right next to BGR. The Dionis is not an authentic lobster roll by the standard New England definition, but it was a well made, hearty sandwich that hit the spot. The lobster meat was chunky, perfectly cooked and perfectly dress with just a little bit of mayo. Accompanied with some lettuce and you can squeeze a wedge of lemon on it - it was tasty. The bread was their typical sandwich roll that was buttered and toasted, which served as the perfectly buttery tasty vehicle for the perfectly assembled lobster meat. Great sandwich spot - I'd return when I have an inkling for a good one.

Sometimes you just want a Thanksgiving leftover turkey sandwich without actually having cooked the entire dinner. Thankfully, Jetties is here to help you with that. I had heard of the famed "Nobadeer" sandwich for quite some time and with Jetties opening in Bethesda, the roommate and I promptly headed here for dinner to get one. We had been eyeing this opening for awhile and I'm happy to report they are definitely up and running. After chatting up the guy about their Le Creuset crocks (disclaimer: I work at LC), I placed my order for the Nobadeer, a cupcake and lemonade. My bill was just under $15 which I was fine with - normally I wouldn't have sprung for the cupcake but I figured why not? Otherwise, I think I would have been in the $11-12 range. The inside was pretty loud - there were several children running around and yelling at this point but even without them, the acoustics in there are insane. So we sat outside on the patio to chow down. So yeah...it's been a day and I am still thinking about that sandwich. In fact, I can't even bring myself to look at the photo I posted because it just makes me hungry for that sandwich all over again. It was a generous heaping of Thanksgiving love for sure - sourdough bread layered with mayo, cranberry sauce, roasted turkey and stuffing. Oh. Baby. As far as the cupcake is concerned, well, you know my lukewarm feelings on them based on my review of "Something Sweet". The cupcake was less than impressive as the one I chose was more walnuts than cake and the frosting was piled high and sickeningly sweet. I'd say pass on that in the future - which is fine because you should really be focusing on the sandwiches here. I'm eager to return to try out their dinner crocks - the pot pie sounds heavenly. As it gets colder, I'm sure I'll be back to get it soon. Welcome to the 'hood, Jetties! Dear God my waistline/wallet would have been in danger if they opened when I still lived 2 blocks away.

Jetties in Bethesda is not a "Customer Friendly" place. The "Bull Dog" fellow that handles the register should take lessons in acquiring customer service practices, i.e. the customer is ALWAYS right! I ordered one of their signature sandwiches and did not notice that it had mayonnaise on the bread. I took it back and explained that I made a mistake and could they remake the sandwich. Rather than discussing with me what could be done to satisfy my concern, like replace one slice of bread with the mayonnaise on it, he abruptly said "no" and added that I would have to pay for an entire sandwich to resolve my problem. It is one thing to make an honest mistake and ask for help than to be rudely criticized by someone who cares less about building good will and practicing the first lesson in business. I think I will wait awhile before thinking of going back.

Really enjoy this place. The Nobadeer is hands down one of the best sandwiches in the area. Turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing on sourdough. So good! It's also good for two meals if you're not a big eater. Other things I have had here are also really good. Not sure if it's still around, but the lasagna was tasty too. They also have good ice cream/shakes here. They're definitely better than the ones next door at BGR. If you know of a better place in Bethesda, please let me know! Another nice this is this is a quiet part of Bethesda with a decent amount of street parking.

Do not order online!!! Their website said that they were open until 8:30 PM, at 7 PM we ordered online, and arrived at the location about 7:20, hoping for sandwiches that were just made. Instead the store was closed and dark even though the online ordering accepted my credit card just fine. We left a voice mail saying we did NOT want the sandwiches since we could not get them that evening, and to call us to confirm. We did get a call the next day from someone that never got the voice-mail but asked us if we wanted the sandwiches since they were closed when we ordered, we told them no. - hoping this was the end of an annoying experience. Just received my CC bill, and Jetties charged us for the sandwiches anyways. Now we have to go deal with that mess. After about 2 weeks we did receive a confirmation that our credit card was reimbursed.. So they were ethical about business. The sandwiches may be great. but the online ordering is not ready for prime time.

I'm still mad that I paid over $9 for just a veggie salad. A salad that wasn't even that great. I do like the concept of being able to build your own, but unless there's a salad happy hour I can't bear to pay that much for lettuce and some mangled carrots again. Maybe their $9 sandwiches are better?

  • Jennifer A.

I'm astonished that anyone comes here more than once because the staff is so rude. No greeting except a scowl, surly answers to basic questions, a show of exasperation over two people ordering together but paying separately. And when your sandwich is ready, don't expect anyone to care whether it sits there on the counter all day after they barely raise their voice to call your name. I live in another city where a person would be fired for treating people the way the guy at the register treated me and my friend yesterday. I felt like he just wanted us to go away, and we certainly will! The vegetarian sandwich was fresh but just OK.

I admit, even after the good reviews, I was skeptical about this place. The name, the decor, and the menu just puked "preppy"...but it fits perfectly in the Woodmont Triangle. $9 for a turkey sandwich I could probably make at home?! Ugh. I was instantly turned off. I ordered the Surfside and hoped it would somehow be worth the hefty price tag. I was handed my cute little butcher paper wrapped up sammie, and I definitely felt the "heftiness". This thing was massive!! It seemed to weigh as much as a Chipotle burrito! Once I tried it, I was in love. I don't know how a turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich can be this damn good, but it is. It has to do with the freshness and quality of all the ingredients, including the bread. I'm not a big bread person at all---I usually tear off 75% of it when eating any kind of sandwich---but this sourdough bread was just perfect and I didn't dare waste a morsel. The bacon was so crisp, the cheese soft and tangy, and the hand carved turkey juicy and plentiful. Since my initial visit, I have been back several times. It's still a little steep for a sandwich lunch, but worth it at the same time. I alternate between the Surfside and the Steps Beach (which is a delicious turkey salad sandwich).

This is a VERY well run business......packed house and sandwiches soups chilis entrees going out the door quickly. Everyone happy servers customers..... The order forms are genius fountain drinks everything fast fast at lunch rush. I got the Sankaty today yes! cheapy breakfast sandwich.......$6.35 scrambled eggs bacon muenster cheese on multi grain. Actually decent sized and VERY TASTY!!!! The Nobadeer sounds awesome....carved turkey stuffing cranberry sauce on sourdough!!!!! Have to try next time! Tom Nevers: Don't forget about me!!!! They all are soooooooooo fresh and creative. All around $9 but you want the BEST you pay a lil extra............come on it's Bethesda...... I was a lil skeptical about their pushed back opening date but they have completely proven me wrong and hey.....these guys have like 10 other places so they know what they doing. They KNOW what they are doing soooooooooooo GO NOW!!!!!

I come here once a week for lunch and order the Sconset sandwich. Although it can be zoo around the peak-time lunch hour, the lines move fast as people fill out order forms and hand them to the cashier. This is a fast and efficient system, that cuts down the wait. The venue is also very spacious and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The Sconset sandwich is very good because of the multi-grain bread. The bread is soft and I can dig my teeth right through it. Sometimes, I'll substitute the sprouts for the sweet pickles, which are delicious and highly recommend trying! The sandwich is pretty large and filling. I usually will eat 1/2 for lunch and save the other half for later (although it's hard to resist since it's so good). My only complaint is that the sandwiches are a bit expensive, over $9 (with tax)! It's a nice treat and I usually head over to Cafe Express (on Norfolk Ave) for cheaper sandwiches/wraps. They offer a bit more variety and are more affordable, but not as tasty as Jetties.

Man oh man ... we were hoping for stunning results ... I love me a good sammich ... and this place gets great reviews. I saw the fresh cut turkey ... I was intrigued ... but this place just was OK ... not really a fan ... no better than Potbelly's ... and it was pretty durn pricey. The table was split on whether they have good bread ... my vote is "meh" ... Nothing bad here ... and the service was good and fast ... but not a "fan" and certainly not as good as it gets.

Jettie's sometimes makes great sandwiches and salads. But sometimes they mess them up because they're rushing and don't take the time to do them right. When they do mess up, don't expect the manager or the staff to care at all. The manager is as unhelpful as anyone I've ever experienced. And instead of making the customer feel important, they actually make you feel like they're doing a favor by serving you.

Jetties makes great sandwiches albeit pricey ones. The low rating today is because I had the worst milkshake of my life there. I'm a grown-up but I still like a good milkshake from time to time and Jetties has Gifford's ice cream so it seemed like just the thing for my craving. So I order my sandwich and milkshake to go. 2 minutes later, sandwich ready and delicious. The server/cashier also promptly prepped my shake and got it spinning. He then proceeded to serve customer after customer until 15+ minutes transpired. I went back and commented that my shake had been blending for an excessive amount of time and he seemed upset that I suggested he remake it but he did. Then, the process unbelievably repeated itself and he left the milkshake blending for an inordinate amount of time as he served multiple other customers. Since I couldn't bring myself to say something again, I took my shake and left. Not surprisingly, it was awful. It was warm, thin, and I couldn't even bring myself to drink it. I don't think I've ever thrown out a full shake in my life. I've been making shakes since I was in grade school and never screwed one up this badly. It is not hard. I learned my lesson...Jetties for sandwiches but leave it at that.

Great phone service for takeout, but when I ordered the chicken pot pie, I was reminded that they call it "Orange Street." I've never cared for silly names for normal dishes, and I dislike being told what they are when I use the common name. It's bad enough to put up with that in Starbucks. It reminds me of a scene in "Brazil." The pot pie was excellent! Good size cubes of tender white meat chicken with fresh carrots, peas, and onions in a nicely herbed sauce that wasn't salty, all under a very nice biscuit crust. The hot italian sub (whatever they call it) was tasty in spite of the roll being too thick and heavy. The roast beef with cheese and horseradish sauce didn't have any cheese, and it could have used 4 time the sauce. I'd go with 2.5 stars if I could.

I pretty much live at Jettie's, considering how often I go there during my lunch break. What's great is that the sandwiches are colossal in size and are served wrapped in butcher paper. They're so hefty, you can pretty much use them to pump some iron and make room for the calories you're about to shovel in. And honestly, anything you order at Jettie's will taste great. After eating my way through the menu, two favorite sandwiches have emerged: Tom Nevers and Surfside. I feel so naughty when eating Tom Nevers ;) Ha ha. Primarily because I rarely ever eat bacon and mayo. A Tom Nevers includes carved turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on triple-decker toasted sourdough. Common, everyday ingredients, but it's so delicious and is usually a Friday treat for me. The Surfside has carved turkey, havarti, bacon, avocado, and whole grain mustard on sourdough. If you're not used to whole grain mustard, it burns your nose a bit when you're eating - at least it does that to me. That said, I pretty much inhale this thing. Oh yeah, they also have a dessert case. Cookies, cupcakes, brownies, ice cream. I tend to order a cupcake, which they serve in a plastic cup.

Hoped the addition of Jetties to the Woodmont Triangle would be a much welcome addition given the dearth of eateries on this side of Bethesda. Jetties has and hasn't lived up to my expectations. I love their crab soup and was looking forward to enjoying it throughout the summer when crab is plentiful and fresh, but Jetties decided to remove it for the summer. Inquired as to why Chili and Chicken Tortilla remained, especially chili since it didn't seem to me that many people would order chili in the summer, but was told that chili is popular. Doesn't make sense to me, but I am not the owner. Chili over crab soup in the summer is tantamount to heresy. Crab soup was my only reason for entering Jetties because their salads are over-priced and sandwiches aren't my calling. I will not miss the lack of friendliness from the front line staff running the register. In fact, they can be downright sullen sometimes.

I tried a salad. Much better value than the sandwich I originally had. Very substantial and nice combination of flavors. I'm knocking off a star because my salad came with tomatoes, even though I wrote "no tomatoes" on my order slip. I had already walked back to my office before I saw it.

Nice, big (huge) sandwiches. Can't go wrong here on the food. Ample seating indoors but the best part is outdoor seating. It's one of the most relaxed spots in Bethesda to eat your lunch on a nice sunny day. BGR Burgers is next door so its a good spot incase you can't settle on a single place in a large group. People rave about the Nobadeer but its nothing to die for as a true sandwich. I recommend Surfside (for turkey), Tom Never (turkey/ham) and Quidnet (italian meatfest). Their meatball sub is fairly decent and again... huge. Small negative on indoor seating - loud music and cranked up air conditioning. Some may like it but it's a slight turn-off for me.

Sandwiches are very good here, but service is not. Often takes very long to get a sandwich. The white girls that work there are rude and act as if they have far more important things to do than to be stuck there (I am white, btw)

Massive sandwiches. And a big lunch time rush. A plus about the Bethesda location is the outdoor seating which is great when its sunny and warm. I ordered the surfside which was really good, I mean it has bacon and avocado, how can it fail to be anything less than awesome? My only gripe is that the sandwich is stacked therefore it falls apart when you eat it. The weekday lunch rush. I would recommend calling in and ordering to pick up, because it gets a little chaotic in there, but they are pretty quick at filling the orders.

Thanksgiving came early this year! I made my first visit to Jetties this past Friday and let me just say I think I may have found my new Go To place for lunch in Bethesda. I had the Nobadeer, which is carved turkey and stuffing with cranberry sauce and mayo on sourdough. Reminded me of the leftover sandwiches we use to make after the big meal on Thanksgiving. Ordering was easy...they provide you with a list of their sandwiches and salads and you just check the one you want. You can add special instructions or whatever is available to your order. You can also custom build your own sandwich from a list of ingredients. I've always liked this ordering format since it cuts down on errors. You want cheese on that? The inside reminded me of those cheesy board walk restaurants with the beach scenes painted on the walls. It was crowded at lunch time which is always a good sign of a good place to eat. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other sandwiches on the menu. I thought it was priced on the high side however it was comparable to everything else in Bethesda.

I just found my favorite lunch spot in Bethesda! I went here the other day and although it was packed I was able to make and obtain my order very quickly. My chopped salad was great and I appreciate having a healthy yet delicious place to eat in the area. I just wish it was less expensive to create your own salad.

Nice little sandwich shop right next to BGR. I had the 'Surfside' sandwich which was turkey, avocado, bacon, and mustard. My order came out really quickly, maybe within 5 minutes. It wasn't amazing, but still good and nice portion for what you pay. They have a variety of interesting sandwiches. The lobster roll sounded good, but ever since my Boston visit, I feel like I've been disappointed with every other lobster roll. Space is clean, well kept and organized. They also have ice cream, and beer I believe. I'll probably be back to try some of their other sandwiches. Theme on the wall is beach side. Now I just wish I had a corona with it to really find my beach and escape the cold.

2.5 You know when you see a preview for a movie and you expect it to be amazing and then you see it and its just OK? To me that is Jetties in a nutshell. Now to be fair I have been here several times and tried many different things. I have had the roasted turkey, the club, and the french dip(my favorite by far). You go in and check off what you would like on a card and hand it to the cashier then just stand with the others to wait for you food. The sandwiches are OK but I do not think personally is better than a Potbellys which for me is in equal walking distance to where I live. Also it is more expensive than I would have expected for what it is but hey it is Bethesda. Now as for the rating 2.5 for me is saying that I would not protest going there but if it was my choice I would not recommend it.

I always get the turkey Bacon and avocado sand which. Always delicious and HUGE you can deff eat half now and keep the other half for later. I love that they always have the ac blasting in there

Great sandwiches and they have to be for me to say that because everyone makes their own best sandwich, but Jetties gets it done. Thanksgiving sandwich, Lobster roll, Tom Nevers are the go-to's. And i gotta say, Izzat, Potbelly's? you either have no idea what you're talking about, or are a paid yelp drone. both cases you're a joke.

Jettie's Norbadeer sandwich is better than sex. No really, I think it is better than sex (well for the most part). Jettie's is a cute little sandwich shop that I go to whenever I am in the area. It has inexpensive sandwiches and great selection. Okay, so their food isn't better than sex, but the Norbadeer sandwich is definitely better than Thanksgiving.

Had been hearing about this place from my coworkers who have had it in DC. I went there today and created my own turkey sandwich. Quality of the ingredient were fresh and the sandwich was fricking huge. It was pricey at about $9 but you do get a huge sandwich. They don't offer any chicken on their sandwiches which I don't get but they have tons of other options. I prefer Potbellys to this place but will definitely come back again. It's a very solid add to the Bethesda lunch scene!

I went here expecting to be wowed. However, since there were ants crawling all over my table and the wall, I was a little suspect without even having gotten my sandwich. The Thanksgiving sandwich, I think they call it the Noreaster, was a lump of luke warm mush. It was gross. I do not think I will ever go back and try again.

I used to really like Jetties but at some point realized it is way too expensive. their food is quite good and they use high-quality ingredients, but the prices are a ripoff.

For a sandwich place it is one the best. I got the surfside sandwich. Turkey (so fresh and tasty), bacon, Havarti cheese, and a Dijon avocado spread on sourdough bread. It is slightly pricey but the quantity and quality make it worth it IMO.

Dont go at lunch time ( like right, don't go to a sandwich joint at lunch time?) this place was a ball of confusion when I went at lunch. Waited and waited and waited and waited and out food was called in!!!!!!! They don't k ow what's going on! Ok but the salad was good, pricey but good. I will not go there when there's a crowd!

Love it!! I go to Jetties in Bethesda nearly every Saturday for lunch after a good workout at the gym.. Everything is fresh and delicious. Love the Summer Sandwich Special that they have right now....all salads are delicious! Several great choices of sandwiches made with wonderful bread from Lyon Bakery. They have some great soups too. A Great Place to go for lunch or dinner! Highly recommend!!!

Be careful. The cashier (short Latino male with short, black hair) is skimming at the expense of customers. He charged me $15.30 for a salad, and I wanted to give him 3 fives and $1, but only had 4 fives. After I gave him the 4 fives and while looking away he said "16 right?" After telling him that I gave him $20, he insisted it was 16, repeating "that's why I asked you.". Which of course begs the question, why would you ask that at all? After finishing my salad outside, I went back in to get some water and he wouldn't look me in the eye. The burger place next door (BGR) is much better anyway.

Nobadeer, Nobadeer, NOBADEER! Hopefully you get my point. As many times as I've been here, I continue to get this sandwich as I tell myself that I'll try something new this time. It's just that good to say no to. Freshly sliced turkey breast, buttery stuffing, cranberry sauce, tad a mayo for moisture all in between sourdough love. I'm usually not a fan of sourdough, but with this combination, it's a no-brainer. The sandwich is truly one of a kind in this area. During my last visit though, I opted for the Surfside, which is their signature turkey breast, avocado spread, whole grain mustard, and bacon. Another awesome sandwich which I could not find anything wrong with. All the filling in between is piled on high and they don't skimp out on the bacon either. The mustard gives the sandwich a nice bite. I've also tasted their roast beef, it cannot compare to how delicious their moist turkey breast is, GET IT. Oh, and their self-service soup bar. I always get the Maryland crab soup because I must. The balance of ingredients in here is awesome and lots of crab meat, not crab extract. The only downside and it's not too major is it can be salty if you eat it alone. I did try the new england clam chowder once and that was saltier than the crab soup. I never got it again, but from what I can remember, it has a nice amount of clams, good size pieces too. They serve salads too and these aren't your normal portions of grass you get. It's a huge salad with tons of fresh greens, variety of toppings, and proteins. I can't remember what I got last time, but I walked away full from just the salad, odd. This is a great lunch spot to visit. It's not the cheapest sandwich, soup, salad spot around, but you're here for quality foods and ingredients. One downside, especially during lunch, is when your sandwich is ready, they leave it at the counter and call your name at normal volume. This place gets pretty loud since it's busy in here. What's odd is they use the microphone sometimes, but other times just hang out up front to get your food.

I really wanted to love this place, but my two visits to Jetties both fell completely flat. The sandwiches and salads are good-not great-though pricey, but it seems to me that some of the people behind the counter truly could not care less about their jobs. On my first visit, it was only after I placed my order when I was scanning their signs that I found out about the dinner special (side potato/salad with sandwich purchase). After picking up the sandwich, I had to ask for the potato salad as it was never offered. Next time I came with a group, and my order was lost (it was not even busy at the time). Ten minutes after everyone else in the group had received their order I asked about mine, but was given only an incredulous look. Only after I persisted did the guy proceed to survey everyone- prep and cashier-to confirm my story. Finally when the cashier remembered taking my order, he gave the go-ahead to make my sandwich, though never asked if I'd make any special instructions in my initial order (good thing I hadn't).

I heard this place is good through my coworkers and then we spent hundreds of dollars for the catering. I ordered "Monomoy" it supposed to be "Hot roast beef " - end up it is not roast at all (of course, it is catering, I didn't except is hot when it is here, but it is never roast!), and NO provolone in it.. Served with au jus? - NOT come with it! I am so disappointed. Catering bring good business to the restaurant. I hope they can keep up the quality.

Love Jetties. If you know of the Jetties in Georgetown, this one in Bethesda will not disappoint. The Nobadeer is absolute heaven. You can actually see the whole turkey from which your meat will be carved from! The dinner crocks take a bit longer to make, but are very filling. Great selection of sandwiches, tasty, and made fast.

This place is nicely tucked away in Woodmont Triangle next to BGR, and as most reviews here it is well worth it. The food is beyond tasty and they have a good selection for drinks. The prices are pretty good for the sandwiches, since they are absolutely monsterous.

All the sandwich options are hearty and filling. Great variety. I ordered the Italian cold cut sandwich and was delighted with the slight toasting of the sub roll. My friends order various turkey based sandwiches and were equally satisfied.

The food here is decent, but the ordering and pickup system is deeply flawed. You write your order along with your name on a slip of paper, pay, and wait for them to call your name to pick up your order. Unfortunately, the place to pick up slips and pens interferes with orderly lining up, and there is nowhere to wait for your order within shouting distance that isn't in the way of people lining up to order, getting napkins, drinks, etc. Today I lost 10 minutes of my lunch hour because another guy named Rob picked up my sandwich by mistake and took off with it. When I wouldn't accept the other guy's sandwich, the staff then re-wrote my order and put it at the back of the line. When I complained at how long it took, they just shrugged. I'm not likely to go back.

This was amazing! I had the monomoy it was delicious it had succulent roast beef, fresh bread, and lots of cheese and it came with au jus! And my dad had the nobadeer (by the way these are all beach names) anyways he said it was the best turkey and cranberry Sandwich ever and he's from new jersey fresh bread thickly cut turkey WOW!

We went to Jetties for dinner about a week ago. I had the portobello, squash sandwich with goat cheese. The bread and the sandwich were delicious. My fiance had the beef stew crock, which was also very good. We will go back. Only drawback was that it took forever to find a place to park, but that's typical for Bethesda.

Can a sandwich shop be your favorite restaurant? I've been coming here at least 2x a month (more if I'm lucky) for the last 1.5 years or so. I almost always come for the weeknight "dinner" (can't beat a yummy sandwich for dinner) after my nearby fitness class lets out (lols), so I can't attest to the weekday lunch scene although I have been on a Saturday for lunch. What I can say is that it is consistently GREAT. If I order the same sandwich as before, it tastes exactly the same as it did the last time. I mean EXACTLY the same. And the taste is very very pleasing. The service is always fast and friendly (and I'm surprised to hear otherwise in some of these reviews but maybe I'm lucky to miss all the weekday lunch rush snaufs?). On occassion I'll get a cupcake being sold from their sister cupcake shop (whatever the name is), and no complaints there either. I have the following two sandwiches on heavy rotation - one that is light and "healthy" and the other that is probably a carb-fat disaster but is, frankly, heavenly: 1) The Sconset (amazing nutty multigrain bread with hummus, avocado spread, munster cheese, shredded carrots, sprouts, love) and 2) The Nobadeer (juicy hand-carved turkey ATOP thanksgiving day buttery stuffing with cranberry sauce and what must be sinful amounts of full-fat mayo on good sourdough bread). My husband frequently gets the lobster roll or the french dip roast beef. I frequently have bites of these sandwiches and they are also good, although I think there are better lobster rolls elsewhere in the neighborhood. I've also had a couple of their "seasonal" special sandwiches, neither of which have disappointed. One I recall was a hot sandwich, toasted multigrain with hand-carved turkey, warm melty brie, arugula, and fig spread (PLEASE BRING THIS BACK TO ME), the other was a nice light summer selection of heirloom tomatoes and avocado and other stuff and I remember it being good. Don't fool around with making your own sandwich, while they do offer that option of concoting your own, I've made that mistake a few times, it's simply never going to be as good as one of their stalwart specialities. I've also had a few salads from here. Good, fresh ingredients each time and always very generous portions. So, yea, my favorite restaurant.

Well, perhaps this is my own fault, but I went in expecting "outstanding" after all I've heard about this place, and I got "good." Don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong with "good," but when you're expecting outstanding, good just doesn't seem as great. Anyway, I got the Quidnet, their version of an Italian sub. It has most of the same things on it as a regular Italian sub, but it's served hot. First, I think I would have liked it better cold. It also could have used more Italian dressing. The bread and sweet peppers were excellent, though. The sandwich is huge, as others have noted, but for the price it should be! The Italian sub at Pumpernickel's in Chevy Chase is better. My mom got the Pocomo and it was just OK. It would have been better served hot (the bread was warm but the veggies weren't - strange contrast), and the herbed goat cheese spread was underwhelming. I would go back again, but not in a big hurry.

Awful summer special sandwich. The tomatoes looked like they just removed it from freezer sliced it and served. 11$ for a veggie sandwich is a ripoff

Jetties is a pretty nice concept in building your own salad. They have a broad selection of items and dressings. The food was tasty and I love that they have carved turkey chunks. However, if you are not familiar with the order process, it can be somewhat confusing. The staff seems to rush you through the line, so if you forgotten to grab / order your drink, you will have to get back in line like I did. :) However, I would like to see a restaurant in Memphis with the same concept. Another downside is that their is limited seating and the. Price for the average salad of my colleagues was $14.00.

Came here twice with coworkers. It is the go to place for a sandwiches for my colleagues. Their signatures are creative, but not one for cold food ever, I'll be checking out other places.

Great sandwiches and salads. A little pricey but the sandwiches are worth it. They are huge. The salad's are good but too pricey for a salad. But the one thing I love at this place that keeps me coming back for lunch is the clam chowder. Really, really good. Full of clams, potatoes and flavor. Gotta have them with two packets of oyster crackers. Awesome on cold day for soup and even in the summer. Would give them five stars if it was a little less pricier.

I picked up a salad (I ordered online) and discovered once I got back to my office that the two "proteins" (turkey and bacon) I added were missing. The rest of the salad was good, it just stung knowing that the two things I paid extra for weren't included.

3.5 stars I rounded up to four stars because I've eaten a Surfside sandwich from Jettie's before and it was delish! This was my first time at the Bethesda location. I ordered the Nobadeer, which is one of their specialties, it was pretty good, not great. I went around 3pm, so there were three people seated and there was no line. But, for some reason, the cashier still had me fill out a sandwich form, again, no one in line and I was ordering one of their specialty sandwiches. She mumbled something after I paid, only later did I figure out she said "Well call your name when it's ready." I also got a cup of soup, I decided to try the chicken tortilla. I could tell it was freshly made and it had a good taste, but a little bland (at least for chicken tortilla). Thankfully, they have red and green tabasco sauce at the table, so a couple of shots of the green tabasco and the soup was perfecto. The sandwich ingredients were equally fresh and I'm partial to turkey and stuffing, but as others have stated it was a little on the bland side. It's wroth a try, but next time I'll go with the Surfside again.

Went here for lunch the other day and I ordered some salad, I don't even remember the name but it was nothing special. The service was bad, there were so many people crowding around waiting for their order, there was no line and I was confused on where to even get in line. They make you fill out an order form just for a salad/sandwich already on their menu? Stupid. I was very disappointed in my order. My salad didn't taste like anything; the dressing had no flavor... like I just ate those calories for nothing! Not to mention it was so expensive! I got a salad and a drink for $14! Ridiculous. Won't be going back here.

The sandwiches and salads here are top notch. The Thanksgiving sandwich is particularly good. Everything seems really fresh and the ingredients are high quality. The sweets (ice cream and cupcakes) are really bad unfortunately so do not waste your money.

It was 3 pm on a Wednesday so the place was a ghost town. My Bethesda-based sister has raved about this place for a long time and was excited to take me for my 1st time. I looked at the menu and I'll be honest, my jaw did drop at the prices. On average, $10 for a sandwich? No chips, no pickle? We were already locked in so I couldn't bail. I went with the Pocomo - portabello mushroom, caramelized butternut squash, and herbed goat cheese on toasted multi-grain. My sister ordered her favorite - the Surfside and my Mom the Smith Point. In the end ($32 later), you get what you pay for. And this was QUALITY. From the fresh bread, to the ingredients, it's clean, fresh and BIG. I mean, I finished mine (it was just veggies) but my sister's Surfside was SO big she couldn't get her mouth around it. If you're cool paying $10 for a sandwich - Jetties is the place! Really good quality.

Initially, I was kinda suspect of Jetties. I'm just not a sandwich salad girl. Now Jerries has turned into one of my regular lunch spots. I wish I could give you a review on lots of their sandwiches and salads but I tend to stick with the same delicious salad with every visit....the Sanford Farm. Mixed greens, blue cheese, and a sweet but not to sweet balsamic dressing. I had a little turkey with mine. Love it. The lobster roll is also pretty yummy too.

OVERRATED. If you like these things below, Jetties is your place! -Long lines during lunch -Cramped, awkward waiting area. -Fast food atmosphere with dine-in prices. $10-12 for a decent sandwich or salad which doesn't include chips. -Dry day-old bacon. -50 cent up-charge for tomatoes on a sandwich. Tomatoes! -Lazy staff. Do not bother the cashier during the lunch rush unless you like seeing rolled eyes. Also don't go within 15 minutes of closing time. You will be turned away.

3.5 stars really. The sandwiches are yummy and have quality ingredients, but super expensive for what you get. I spent almost $11 for just a sandwich. The ordering system was a little confusing--you have to fill out a form and hand it to them when you get to the front. The lunchtime line was long and cattle-like. Salads looked good--and large--too. I'd try this place again, but definitely not at lunchtime.

My boss introduced me to Jetties a year ago and since then it has been my go-to salad spot once a week for lunch due to it being expensive. As of July 21st, 2015 that has changed... Today I noticed a dead bug! I took my salad back but the manager, who understood little English was telling me there's very little he could do... Staff didn't care I guess. He blamed it on the produce and offered me either a soda or cookies/brownies. I am never eating there ever again.

Why oh why yelp wont you let us rate on half star intrevals??? Sigh. This place is a solid 3.5 stars. The food is great, fresh, and always expanding/changing. The breads are great and individualizing them to each sandwich is a big plus in my book. This is my go to place when I need to shake my week up and have a taste of awesomeness. The inside is just as you would expect a quirky, quick sit-down sandwich shop to be. The patio is an awesome grubbage place when the weather holds up (umbrellas are in full force to keep your pasty winter skin from burning in the summer months). When you come in, you have to fill out a piece of paper and then present it to the cashier. I'm unsure what the premise behind this is - it seems to slow down the ordering process on the customers side and waste TONS of paper. What would the issue be with just telling the cashier what you want? I mean you do have a huge menu above the cashiers head ?? Why the 3.5 (rounded down) review? Well, you're going to be reaching deep in your pocket for lunch. With tax, you are looking at getting out of there for $11-$12 for a sandwich that is only an OK size. I am 180lbs and 5'10 ... not a giant by any means. However, I can crush that sandwich like its a fat kid eating a tub of Ben and Jerry's ... and still be parched. Such is the unfortunate truth of Jetties. Their salads on the other hands could be had as two meals - unfortunately the amount of protein they include in the salads means your second meal would consist of only lettuce :( Salad with extra meat typically runs $16. Ouch ! I've always had a hard time communicating with some of the staff there for some reason. With all the negatives though, its still a solid go to.

  • Ruth C.

Three and a half stars. The general reaction I would expect any Jetties customer to say is, "This is delicious, but really expensive for something not that special." And if we're being serious, the same can be said with many fast casual restaurants. You're paying the Bethesda cost for someone else to stock and assemble fresh ingredients at your convenience. If your wallet's complaining, I'm sure there's a Subway or Wendy's elsewhere for your budget. I do think it's too bad they don't honor the frequent flyer program they advertise on Foursquare with any practicality. That said, their salads are just as stuffed to the brim as their signature sandwiches, and make me just as full; existing salad combinations tend to be more boring than the monthly special. I was disappointed by the Maryland crab chowder, kinda watery. Cape Cod chips, ice cream, and typical fountain beverages. Fair amount of seating indoors, some seating outside and in the adjacent plaza, metered street parking and a garage not too far away, relatively quick service though occasionally rude. Favorite sandwiches are Dreamland, Nobadeer (Thanksgiving in your mouth), and Surfside; favorite salads are Orange Street, Long Pond, and Altar Rock. The form format makes it easy to coordinate bulk orders. Sadly, they killed the pot pie offering to added a few new hot sandwiches at all locations. I'll be catering office lunch from here again so I can try Baxter Road and Rotary, and get around to Tom Nevers and Dionis.
