For 11pm, the place was pretty crowed, hence the holiday & the Cavs & Hawks were playing. No table service, I had to order at the bar, no problem as Dade was friendly & expedient. He gives you a choice to pay as you go or start a tab...I get it, no table service & to avoid the eat & dash. I had the Hummus platter & a glass of Cab. Surprisingly it was very quick service in delivering the food & even a few check ins here & there by the server. The hummus was garnished with parmesan cheese and diced tomatoes., I 86'd the cheese & it was very good. It came with warm/grilled pita, & an array of fresh & abundance of carrot sticks, celery sticks, and cucumber chips. A tasty, healthy & well portioned late night snack. I was scanning the menu, pretty large selection for bar food & then some on the entrées aspect. I'll have to menu dabble more in depth the next go around. The patio was nice with the weather with the exception of the chain smokers, I thought everyone was turning over to E-ones LOL...it was smoke signals haven. I sat at the last table by the entrance, to help offset the 2nd hand smoke consumption. Besides that, it was a nice open layout from the bar to the patio & with a good scene for a sports bar that stays opened late. Good place for late night sports & bar food.

We decided on change of scenery and came here after Rock Bottom. I wasn't impressed, but I'm not a sports person, so I wasn't the target demographic anyway. Other people must've liked it, since it was fairly crowded. Outside, that is. We had plenty of seating to choose from inside, because it was HOT inside. Our table shared a full platter of cheesy tater tots. You can order half or full, and full is REALLY big. More than 2 people need to work on this. It was tasty bar fare.

This place is like a divey sports bar. TONS of TVs. Patio area with outdoor seating. The front of the bar opens as well on nice days. Good but limited happy hour. $2.50 draft Yuelings. But that's about it. Trivia on Tuesdays with District Trivia (I personally find their questions a little off beat, but it's still fun). Our server was great, came by often, super friendly. Limited street parking and a garage two buildings down. Pay the meters. It's a $45 fine if you don't. Boo.

The short review: Caddies is a sports bar geared towards the young happy hour and game crowd with surprisingly good bar food and decent beer specials. Worth it if you are looking to relax with a few drinks, don't mind overindulging in a plate of nachos, and are not particularly concerned with the scenery or crowd. And if you have time for the details: The good: -Outdoor seating (which is not always easy to come by in Bethesda) -Good food for what it is... meaning if you are looking for greasy bar food you will hate yourself for tomorrow this is the place. The waffle fry nachos (yes, those are exactly what they sound like) are awesome. They have a HUGE slider plate where you can pick 4 different types of sliders and fries. They even have a pretty good veggie burger believe it or not. -They always have some sort of pitcher special for domestic beers -TVs EVERYWHERE if you are trying to catch a game (come early as they get crowded) The bad: -A young/rowdy/bro-y crowd during happy hour and weekend nights (I understand that could also be a plus for some) -Not a particularly scenic restaurant and it can be a little dark/dingy -The bartenders/servers will ultimately the job done but they tend to be a little honey badger about it all

Caddies appears to be a decent spot to grab a drink and watch some sporting event. I came in recently after a game with my softball team. We enjoyed the outdoor patio area as it was a nice night. The outdoor area is definitely good for socializing and enjoying your groups company. Head inside if you're more interested in watching the games. Staff was friendly enough, even though they claimed they closed at 12:30, they made us leave at 11:30, they were nice with their request though. Bartender was nice too, nothing special about his service but decent enough guy. It was a Monday night so the place wasn't overly-crowded, I could imagine football Saturdays or Sundays could be busy. Plenty of TVs to entertain the group and standard alcohol and various beers on tap. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, drinks were on the cheaper side for the DC area, only bonus because the location will keep me from coming on a regular basis. Nice neighborhood sports themed place, worth a visit if in the area.

An over priced ????. Service very unfriendly and cocky. Fruit flies all over and the beer is way over priced. WOuld suggest any other bar.

In the past, it never occurred to me that Caddie's even served food. Imagine my surprise when, several beers deep on a Sunday afternoon, a friend and I decided to try a slider sampler platter. It was really good! You choose 4 sandwiches from several options; we chose the pulled pork, buffalo chicken, chicken Parmesan, and French dip. They were all delicious. I even went back the following week to order my fave from the selection, the pulled pork. Now, I know pulled pork, and theirs is as good as you will get outside of a BBQ joint in the south with its own smoker out back. For those looking to get their drink and football on, Caddie's is ideal. A million TVs, multiple levels and two patios, it is a great setup. They have reasonably-priced drinks. The Bud Light Bucket has 5 beers in ice, which keeps you stocked for a while, and it costs like $13 or $14. I will say, Caddie's can get packed at night or on Sundays, so arrive early to get a good location. At night, it is a regular bar, one of the more popular in the area.

The service at this place is consistently bad. I love their happy hour and their food is great. However over the course of several visits I have noticed that their servers are bad at their job. I've never been to a place that said they can't do separate checks. One server got an order wrong and when we tried to send it back she returned it and said that was the correct order. Uhhhh no. That wasn't what we ordered. If not for the bad servers I'd give this place 5 stars.

How do I review a place I'v ebeen going to for YEARS - since it opened? Here's the short version. GREAT local spot. If you live or work in Bethesda. After work drinks - Check. Random night of the week to have a beer - check. Always some sort of game on the Numerous tvs - check. Happy Hours and Weekend Specials - Check Outside area AND a 2nd level patio - Check Speaking of specials...those buffalo chicken sliders are SO good. Whenever I'm in town, I'm usually at Caddies for at least one drink. Yes, it's your neighborhood place.

Awesome bar food. I have never had a bad thing to eat here. The day and night crowds are very different, but I always have a good time here.

    (4)
  • Kari S.

Young crowd, perhaps too young. Delicious chicken wings, cheap beer, and generously sized Fireball shots for $5.50. Seems like they have a lot of food and drink specials every day of the week, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed.

Easily my favorite sports bar in the Bethesda area. Tons of TVs (including in the booths) and it is right next to a parking garage. The garage can fill up during rushes though.

  • Jordan E.

Was I half crazy for secretly wanting Rodney Dangerfeld to popup here? Even half a pink 57 caddillac would do. Neither happened, but I was pleasantly happy nonetheless. Is it a typical sports bar? You bet you. However, its roomy, cozy, and I could definitely see putting a few pints down here. You want cheap booze and bar food to satisfy your craving, all within walking distance of our little nook of 'uptown' Bethesda, boom ... that's Caddy's. Their chicken wings.... aoisgnaeiruwanbedsbv ... oh so delicious. Any sauce they can slather on works delightful and has earned a spot up on my list again. Perfect spot for our office Happy Hour. I think all ten of us got out of there for under 200 bucks, and we nom nom'd out on food and drinks.

  • Buttons K.

Great spot, always my go to! If you are looking for a good place to just go and hang out with you buddies this is it. Plus the food is amazing. I recommend the French dip sandwich but pretty much anything on the menu is good. The bar tenders are always on point.

    (5)
  • Omid A.

They check your ID to get in to get food. I didn't have my ID on me on a Sunday with no intentions to drink. They had a former FBI agent/secret service employee working the door and he would not let us eat even though I'm 32 and look 35! Keep in mind there were toddlers in there.

Recently having made changes to their menu- Caddies still remains a top Bethesda spot to grab a drink and enjoy some great music. If you make your way into the first floor's backroom on a game day, you'll fawn over the giant projection screen TV and the individual TVs at every table. The tots were totes crispy (as they should be) and were generously covered with well cooked bacon, cheese, and a surprisingly wonderful chili. I know, your heart just sunk...from disease. That's what bar munchies are though! Surely a mainstay for Bethesda-ites - we cant wait until the weather is nice enough to lounge on the two enormous patios. Caddies gets extra points from this guy for serving mixed drinks in pint glasses! If I'm ordering a mixed drink, it's because I don't want to taste the liquor. That's just the honest truth :). I have to go back and try this Crab Mac N Cheese Hot Dog. Yes, there were no typos in that last sentence: Crab Mac N Cheese Hot Dog. I'll update you soon!

This place is great flat screens at every booth, good food, and a great atmosphere! I would definitely recommend this place to others. Not to mention the staff is very hospitable!

I used to cringe when people wanted me to meet them at Caddies... I'd find any excuse not to go. But my last visit taught me a lesson. I was slapped in the face with the shame of being a biased food snob. Shame on me! Nachos: I can't remember when I've been so excited about nachos... maybe when I was in elementary school and first experienced those round bulk chips with fake pump cheese in a square corner of a plastic tray (not a food snob back then). But Caddie's nachos are far from that... My friends ordered their usual nachos which was a generous portion of Crispy baked thin chips piled with cheese, sour cream, and guac. Surprisingly, you can order them with seasoned tender pulled chicken breast pieces as well as black bean dip AND meaty chili - both of which were fabulous (ask for them on the side) Tots: The tater tots with bacon were also so crisp and generously heaped onto a large plate with ranch on the side. Wow. Club Sandwich with side salad: Surprisingly, the bread was perfectly buttered and toasted and the salad was standard but fresh. I drank miller lite (ick) to "negate" the Nachos and tater tots -- it makes perfect sense... trust me. But there are craft beers and ciders on tap. My hubby's Macallan on the rocks was very generous. He barely finished it. Ambience - sports bar and the crowd can get kinda rowdy on the weekends. Service - our waitress was great... granted, we were her only table but she was very friendly and attentive. I'm now a converted fan.

A great spot to watch games or fights. The bartender was really quick and definitely knew what he was doing. Best service from a bar that I have ever received. The food is good. No complaints. Good vibes, good drinks and good people.

It's been a few years since I rated Caddies, and since then, it's our office's go-to external "conference room." You know what you're getting here. Drinks are reasonably priced, bar food is exactly what you expect, and the service is solid (not sure who R.H. had, below, but I've rarely gotten sub-par service in 4 years of patronizing). Decent patio area in the summers. Not too many pretentious folks, which is hard in Bethesda. If you want a martini, go to Black's. If you want a draft beer, go nowhere else.

  • JT T.

With tons of TVs, outdoor seating and two bars (upstairs and down), Caddies makes for a local favorite sports bar. They have a wonderful drink selection and specials. Sadly they had to minimize their menu size but everything they kept is still clutch. Pizzas, nachos, wings, quesadillas, and all sliders, salads and sandwiches are wonderful. They post new special monthly I think and those can be fried pickles or a unique mac n cheeses (sometimes with hot dogs in it). Also, they have two floors and if you want to rent out the top floor it is great for big parties but for a price.

  • Lisa S.

Typical sports bar. Came here for happy hour with a medium-sized group during the summer, and sat on their patio, which was really nice. We wanted to sit upstairs, but it was closed. Throughout the time we were there, the server kept going MIA and seemed uninterested in us. They run different specials throughout the week, such as discounted pitchers and $5 pizzas. I ordered their chicken tenders ($12), and they were greasy and unappetizing. The other food items arriving at our table looked about the same- on the expensive side and not particularly tasty or memorable. However, it's possible they have some standouts on the menu that we didn't order. Overall, a good enough place to grab a beer and sit outside, or watch some sports. If you're looking for something more than that, I'd probably go somewhere else.

  • Chris J.

Great spot to come with a lot of friends. Unfortunately since it is cold, the patio isn't as inviting. Huge bright spot if it's a nice day. Perfect place to eat sliders (so many options) and enjoy the game. It can get very crowded, but the staff doesn't get stressed out easily. That's a huge plus in my book when the staff tries really hard to make your experience better even if it's busy.

    (4)
  • Jason G.

Seems like a fun sports bar but the drinks and the food are way overpriced for pub fare. $6.50 for a draft beer and $12 for chicken fingers....yea i'm all set.

Kim is the best server here!! She is always so friendly and attentive to her tables. I've had multiple other servers and they all are def not as good! Ask for Kim!!

This review is for the staff service upstairs at Caddies. Went to Caddies to watch the World Cup (4pm on a Tuesday). It was jam-packed but fun until the main bartender was drunk to the point that he barked at me and my friends to move over for the seats he had "personally" reserved for his 7 friends (all 400-lb men). Mind you, I had been there the entire game. He berated me obnoxiously and loudly for not understanding what he meant to move over (I was in the corner and already pushed up against the bar). I'm not one to complain but his lack of respect and customer service was frighteningly awful. While the female bartender was friendly and attentive, this guy ruined the entire experience. Fellas, don't bother bringing your women here if you want them to be respected. Ladies, save yourself the effort and take your party elsewhere. I don't ever plan on returning to Caddies.

If you are Latin American, be sure to bring your Passport, Visa, SSN and proof of income, because otherwise they will not let you in. A vaild argentinian ID was not good enough for the xenophobic bouncer.

Great local sports themed watering hole. Cute waitresses. Good happy hour beer specials. Great bar food (try the tater tots with cheese and bacon). Even the wings are surprisingly good. Food prices are a bit on the high side IMO. Something like $11 for a burger. Wings are $12. Prices went up with the new menu but, hey, the food is good. I guess most folks are drunk enough not to care by the time they start ordering food. Some evenings it can get a bit wild with a young crowd. There's a more local, older crowd around happy hour. They're open for lunch, too.

Place is OK, just a regular bar nothing special about it. Besides that it gets the job done.

  • Wesley Y.

awesome happy hour $1.84 bud light draft, $8 pithcers (cheaper to order by the glass) Appetizers are 30% off, the wings koren bbq flavor are good, spinach dips not bad. Lots of electronic games to play, golf, putt putt, bean bags, and the little games with photo hunt word dojo, beer pong haha against a pirate. Cheap happy hour, lots of tvs, great bar. The outdoor patio will be open soon can't wait to sit outside, downside is obviously second hand smoke. Will be back for some more happy hour beers and food!

Only two words: "awful service" especially on Friday night very rude brunette waitress and super loud! Food is below average...

This is a review of the location only not the food or staff. It is small and cramped. If you have claustrophobia or anxiety issues this place will be a problem.

Decent bar food. Not the best, not the worst. Good specials. Good outdoor seating.

Three and a half stars. Super chill neighborhood bar with outside patio space out front and up top. Tellies lining the ground floor bar, serviced by Chris the friendly bartender. Spotted a Rob Lowe lookalike at the bar. Free comedy open mic nights every second Wednesday upstairs at 8 pm. Half the taps are tolerable (312 Urban wheat, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, Flying Dog Underdog Atlantic lager, Goose Island IPA) and slushy options in the form of rumrunner, pina colada, and margarita. Typical bar grub: pizza, sliders, sandwiches, finger foods. Nachos and tater tots were both huge portions, enough to share amongst five people. French dip was okay, not too guilt-inducing and with fries that were coated, crisped, and herbed. I'll have to try the BBQ pork and reuben next month.

i was a little young for the show Cheers, but the concept was not lost on me. I always feel that reference when I go to Caddies. they always wave hi, they always know my drinks, and (shocker) theres always a friendly ex boyfriend of mine or two there. it really is THAT bar. maybe I'm not the fanciest girl, but I appreciate bar food for what it is. this is bar food at its finest. i've found myself craving a hot club, garlic parmesan wings, bbq chicken pizza, and DEFINITELY their amazing wheelbarrow full of tots. do normal people crave bar food? whether its happy hour or closing this place down, I always have a great time and I always know i'll be back.

My favorite bar to go to when I am in Bethesda and I'm HUNGRY. This place has the BOMB bar food. Great cheese fries, great chicken fingers, great gumbo (I don't even like gumbo!). I have not had anything I didn't like here. Excellent bloodies, and a make your own bloody bar if you are adventurous (I avoid because I get so excited, I throw caution to the wind and end up with some bizarre undrinkable concoction). Heavy pour on the make your own bloodies during brunch. They fill a pint glass with ice and then fill it 3/4 of the way with Vodka (yesssss). Great outdoor seating area. My only complaint is that I wish they had a stronger craft beer offering.

  • Scott S.

I've been to Caddies many times over the past 4 or 5 years and typically don't have any issues. I went there a couple of days ago to eat dinner and grab some beers. The food was great - I've never had any problems with the food. The wait staff and service is extremely poor if you're sitting in the dining area. It's 2 people most of the time and they visited our table 3 times over the course of 1.5 hours. I will return but only for happy hour. Better service would make this place more enjoyable.

    (2)
  • Kris B.

Short and sweet: Food: 3 stars. Diverse menu, but a little expensive. Nice Happy hour specials Service: 3 stars. Went on "trivia night" and hardly got asked about or food. And I guess it got busy because it took 10 minutes to bring the bill. Ambience: 4 stars. You can't go wrong with the outdoor patio, the giant projector and individual TVs in each booth! Great for big games! Would go back for a big game, once I acquire a taste for beer and loud drunk people, but only during happy hour.

BBQ wings with a side of hot does me every time! I cannot believe that Caddies has been past over year in and year out for best wings in the DMV by the City Paper.

Still have not been back to caddies since original incident. My friend contacted the police and talked to them and Caddies management. Their response was that if my friend pressed charges they would file charges against him for being drunk in public or something along those lines. Mind you at the time of the incident i was pregnant (it was very early on) and I was 100% sober and have a full understanding of what went on and how everything happened. There was zero apology offered and instead they went on the defense, which is expected for the type of establishment it is. My mind has not changed and they will never get my or my friends business.

    (1)
  • Artemis M.

Caddies is a good spot in Bethesda to watch sports games and is great if you are only going with one person or a group. There is plenty of seating here and the outdoor patio is great with large TVs and lots of seating. Last time I went I got the nacchos, which to my surprise were actually pretty good. We devoured them! The beer specials and prices are alright and their burgers are okay too. If you want a place to watch sports game with no fuss, come to Caddies. It's easy and you know what to expect, so why not?

    (3)
  • Seth S.

I wish I could come up with a better word to describe Caddies, but Douche-tastic seems to fit it the best. The people are super obnoxious and loud and love to chug the not-so-cheap buckets of light beer. If you're still unclear about what I mean by that, take a look at this... blogs.villagegreen.com/c… That's pretty average clientele. The bartenders aren't too bad and the food is surprisingly good but I hate everything else about this place. I try to avoid it any way I can. I'll tell you about a couple things that stood out to me as particular turnoffs. Once when I got there with two female friends, the bouncer informed us that it is one-in-one-out at the moment because they are extremely full. This was clearly not the case, as any casual observer would notice from looking in through the huge windows. But I put that aside because I didn't want to make a big deal of it. Not more than 2 minutes later, two girls get out of a cab and walk right into the bar after saying hello to the bouncer. I ask him what the deal is and he says, "They're regulars, you expect me to turn away regulars?" Hell yes!! If it's actually because of some kind of safety consideration you're damn right I do. My last bad experience was when I foolishly bought a Groupon thinking that at least I could assemble a group of people who would want to get a drink there early in the night and then go somewhere much better for the remainder of the night. But that was optimistic because no one I know wanted to go. Finally, my girlfriend reluctantly agreed to accompany me and we went for dinner around 6:30. There were maybe 6 other people in the place and the TVs were deafeningly loud for no apparent reason. Our waitress gets us some water and beer and says she'll be back in a minute to take our order. 20 minutes later I'm finally able to flag her down. Her excuse for not being there "I'm sorry, I totally spaced out." I wish I was making that line up.

  • Mattie H.

The appetizers are so good! The best thing on the menu is the loaded tater tots. The half portion is big enough to share between 2-3 people (and so cheap). The tots are so crisp and golden, they are always perfect. Lots of melted cheese and bacon and I always get a side of both ranch and ketchup for the naked ones. The nachos are impressive too! big portions and quality ingredients, not half-assed at all. Maybe about 6 things on tap at all times. Blue Moon, Yeungling, and REDDs etc...last I checked. Lot's of specials on lite beer. Don't get the Pina Colada though, or anything from those machines. I should have known better. The frozen drinks are like cheap gas station machine slushies. There is a great Bloody Mary bar at brunch. The atmosphere is fun, but it's much like any other sports bar. Two levels, lots of out door seating. Trivia on Tuesdays. If there's an important game on the place will be packed, I'm talking shoulder to shoulder probably.

I'm surprised to see that Caddie's only has 3 stars! They're a great, fun bar with a fabulous outdoor area for the summer. The vibe is really laid back, and the staff are all young and fun people. The food is great, the drinks are strong, so what more could a girl ask for in a bar?

    (4)
  • Merida F.

I finally got around to trying more of the food and not just the beer :) Sliders, chicken fingers, and the burgers are amazing. Wings are pretty good too( but i don't really like wings so I am not the best judge). I have had the pizza once or twice and for a place that isn't really known for pizza, it was great. I still think that Caddies has the best cheese fries anywhere, hands down. If you are coming here to watch a game you are in luck! There are t.v.'s every where and even a big screen in the back room. Come early to stake out your spot!

It is what it is: Cold beer, bar food, sports on the TVs. Caddie's is a great place to hang out with friends. Good mix of people, strong drinks. Haven't tried the food, but it looks like typical bar fare. EDIT: OK, Caddie's loses a star for its ID policy. We had a bunch of guests from out of state (all over 21) who were not allowed in because their IDs were vertical, not horizontal. Unlike Maryland, many states take years to provide horizontal IDs to people even after they have turned 21. Needless to say, we took our group's business elsewhere. Beware 20-somethings with vertical IDs, you will not be allowed in. Still like Caddie's but what a downer.

I remember when caddies first opened and have seen its ups and downs since then. For a while about a year or so ago noticed that the service aspect really went downhill and stopped going for a little. Well, that has seemed to change :). The last 2 times I have gone in the past month , the service has been great , the drinks and food also good. The waitress's really have been friendly and nice lately and it's a welcome change. The bar food is "bar food" but the portions are big and it is tasty. The wings are a decent size and have a good taste to them and the nachos are also tasty and can feed 2-3 people. Great place to go for happy hour and sit on the patio. Glad to see the positive changes and will continue to frequent.

Definitely the best sports bar around the area that I've gone to. The wings are good, but pass on the burgers and nachos. Also sitting in the tv section can be hit or miss in terms of service. Odd thing: I thought today's server was good, but some of my friends didn't like her spunk. I think she grouped me with their opinion and yelled something at me as I left alone. So I guess it was good up to that point if that's how it went down. Just a weird end to the night. I don't blame her though, she was cute! Still recommend this place if you're looking to watch any sports in Bethesda. Each booth has a good quality tv too.

  • Phi N.

Got Old bay wings, buffalo wings, and the hot club. The old bay wings were really salty, kind of boring after you tried the buffalo wings though. Buffalo wings were really good and I also really liked the hot club. There was butter melted inside the bread, lots of meat and cheese and a honey dijon sauce on the side.

  • Shachi B.

It's a sports bar. The beers are cold, the food is typical bar fare, the music is mediocre and the place is packed with people who look like they never wanted to leave college. Truthfully, there's not a diverse crowd, so if that's what you're looking for - head into DC. You'll have much better luck.

Review is for the upstairs bar and comedy night only. 2.5 stars. Came here on a Wednesday night to check out the DC Underground Comedy Festival (I guess every first Wednesday of the month). The bar area upstairs is fairly small...it had some stools around the bar, three booths, and some tables with bar stools around them. They were still setting up for the event, so I decided to grab a drink. They had a "special" going on, which was a pitcher of Millter Lite for $8. But, if I recall the menu correctly, that was regular price. Oh well, still a good deal for a pitcher! Opted for a vodka cran ($5), which was served in a pint glass (not a tumbler)...score! As for the comedy show...ummmmm let's just say there wasn't much laughing going on. They had probably 15 or so local comedians do stand up, and man did this event drag! I know I should have just left, but I'm a sucker and couldn't be rude...especially since proceeds made from the bar were going to The Children's Inn. They were NOT funny. Out of all the comedians that went up there, probably only two or three had me cracking up. All the jokes they cracked seemed to be about black people or women. Eh. I wouldn't recommend coming here to watch the comedy show...unless it's to support a good cause. You're probably better off just coming here another night to grab a couple drinks instead.

A couple of months ago I hosted a fundraiser here for a local charity and Caddie's was very helpful. They have a special deal that when you host your happy hour there, they will give you 10% of all proceeds during the time of your fundraiser. You are also allowed to sell wrist bands for discounted drinks and have raffles. Seeing as they were one of more accommodating bars for a fundraising happy hour, I would highly suggest talking to them if you wish to do that sort of fundraiser. Other than that, it was a standard bar. There was tons of space and ample outdoor seating. I never made it upstairs so I have no idea what it was like up there. The food was your standard bar food. There are burgers and and various appetizers. I tried their hummus platter, which was HUGE. Too bad it didn't taste that great. Note to self: stop eating hummus at restaurants unless they are Mediterranean cause you will be disappointed. Anyway, Caddie's is great for happy hour fundraisers and happy hours in general. I probably wouldn't eat dinner here though.

It is the Bethesda sports bar. Great for college and nfl football watching. Food is a little spensive, but it is good bar food. The wife likes the salad, b/c you can customize is. Tenders are good, which is usually my barometer on whether a place is legit. I mean how hard is it to have good chicken tenders. Gets crowded for games, so get there early so you can get a table.

Negative! NEGATIVE! Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS! There was a "hidden charge" added to my credit card that I DID NOT sign for. When I called the restaurant to inquire about this, the person answering the phone challenged me to "Come down there and do something about it!" in a threatening manner and then hung up on me. This is after I left the brain-dead so-called waitress a tip that was more than she deserved. The service on the patio did not exist. My drink was left unfilled for an hour at a time. I might be back to this hell-hole soon only to absolutely stiff the waitstaff on their tips. Only pay cash to avoid hidden charges. And leave the waits your pennies. They deserve pennies.

Dropped in for a quick beverage. I sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and helpful. I'll be back to try food based on the reviews.

You will like Caddie's if: -You are a guy that likes to wear pastel/striped polo shirts, khaki shorts/pants, and loafers. Bonus points if your shirt is pastel AND striped. -You don't like being able to hear what your friends are saying because it's so, like, totally loud in there. -You know what TSM and TFM mean AND everything you do is a TSM/TFM. -If you grew up in the area and you want to run into everyone from your high school. Especially if you want to see those depressingly fratty guys that gained 20 pounds from tons of beer If these do not apply to you, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Take your dignity and individuality, pat yourself on the back, and walk on to another bar.

Ok, ok...so Caddie's is nothing impressive, but it's always a place where you can enjoy yourself. While I would probably never choose Caddie's as my Friday or Saturday night destination, it's a pretty cool place to drink a few beers and pal around with your buddies. If you go, I would recommend hanging out on the top floor. In fact, my rating is based 90% on my experiences on the second level. Thursday-Saturday nights on the main level can feel packed, and reminiscent of a college bar - just not as messy and without dancing. I would not recommend unless you come for dinner and are seated at the outside patio, or in the back dining area. The top floor has a semi-roofed patio that is a great place to hang out. After our Saturday morning/afternoon football games, Social Sports of Bethesda always offer some great food and drink specials to people that are part of the league - $8 Miller Lite pitchers, tasty sliders, wings, nachos...typical bar food, albeit good, typical bar food. Spontaneous games of flip cup always emerge after football games. I bet some people spend their entire afternoons here, watching games on TV, ordering pitchers and hanging out with friends. After two pitchers between friends, I had to get out of there. One more, and we would have been sucked into the abyss that is flip cup.

I come here a decent amount for events, sports, or just drinks with friends. They really do have good food specials throughout the week and keep it varying. The bartenders are nice, waitresses are friendly, but doesn't change the fact that it's bar food. I do like the atmosphere here during the week when I go to grab a beer, but there is better bars to go to if you want food as well.

This place has the atmosphere and food of a typical bar/pub. If you want a quick bite to eat or drink there is nothing wrong with going Caddie's, its just mediocre. I do have to say, however that their pizza is good for the price on trivia nights.

Came here on Monday night to watch football and for a friends bday.. The place was packed so you can imagine the service was anything but good, in fact I asked for a glass of water 3 times so I ended up going to the bar to get one myself. You would think that since I ordered food the server would think I need water or some drink other than alcohol to go with it. The prices are pretty high too for a bar I ordered the chicken tenders that came with fries but for added $2 they put cheese on the fries so in total it was $15 kind of steep for the portion size and the cheese wasn't cheesy, but the tenders were good. I also ordered the veggie pizza it was pretty good as well.. Overall I had a good time that's why I gave this place 3 stars. But the service needs improving or hire/schedule more people on game nights!

If I had to choose between a night at Union Jack's on St. Elmo or Caddies on Cordell, hands down, I'd pick Caddies. Perhaps my experience was a tad unique since we were in the upstairs bar area for a "farewell" happy hour for one of my co-workers but I had a decently good time here. Our bartender was really friendly, efficient and willing to make new drink concoctions at the suggestion of some of my co-workers. There were also half-price appetizers going on so that was a pretty good deal. I ended up getting the sliders sans fries (gave up fried food for Lent). My only beef (haha) with the sliders was that they put ketchup and mustard on them for you. I do not like either condiment so I had to scrape it off and made a mess but oh well. They were still pretty tasty. I have no idea how much my food / drinks ended up costing because my branch manager showed up and put everyone's tab on his card but I think everything was very reasonably priced. I didn't go to the downstairs area but I really liked it upstairs. The booths each had its own HDtv for watching sports games and there were a couple other bigger tvs around the room. There is an outdoor deck area which I imagine fills up pretty quickly in the warmer months. I could totally see myself coming back in the spring/summer and enjoying a beer on the deck.

For a bar, this place is pretty decent. Really good music mix, and at a volume which seemed reasonable given it being a Sat. night after 9. Excellent food! For the hummus - NICE sized serving. And the create your own salad is the bestest. Super yum. Fast and friendly service. Neat tables where you can set the TV to whatever you want. No complaints. Only reason for 4 stars versus 5 is because it's a little shabby looking, enough so that I wouldn't have given it a chance if I hadn't been here for an event. But I'm glad I came, and I'd come back!

omgggg this place gives me nightmares.... I hate hate hate this place. It's like a frat party you didn't want to go to, but someone told you there would be a lot of alcohol, so you gave in. Yes, it's a bar... so there is a lot of alcohol... but that's where the good things stop. It IS a frat party. People here are often too wasted to be considerate or polite. I was paying my bill on the first floor once when some girl crowdsurfed right over me to get to the bar, knocking my bill, pen, and credit card out of my hands, then declining to (a) apologize or (b) help me find my stuff in the dark. This is not unusual... this is how most people who go here behave. The ONLY somewhat redeeming factor is that the outside upstairs level is usually a little less crowded... you can most likely find a seat... but typically only if its not during the popular times in the summer. Try to go outside in December when it's 32 degrees (if they keep it open) and you may get lucky. By the way - the po-po's stalk this place like no other. If you park in the garage next to Caddie's, take a left out and go out to Old Georgetown versus Wisconsin. I have seen way too many promising youngsters outed by the cops once they made that fated right hand turn out of the garage.

I was lucky enough to attend Caddies for their weekly Sausage Festival tonight. After reading all these comments about Caddies being the business casual fraternity party, I was actually pretty excited. I mean, who doesn't love a good party? Everything that was said in all these reviews is probably true. This place is the dive of Bethesda. The beer is cheap and the food is low quality bar food that has more grease than nutritional value. You could sooner pass off road kill as an appetizing meal than half the crap on their menu. I probably won't frequent this place, unless I am dragged there by friends. Seriously, what is appealing except some sad desire to relive your college days?

I thought this was a decent place to hang out with buddies. The weather was really nice, so the patio made for a great atmosphere, and the Nats and O's games were on the TVs. The service was good (server would always pop in at the right moment to ask if I wanted a refill on my drink), they have all the basic beers, and it was overall a pleasant experience. The clientele does leave something to be desired, but they weren't too obnoxious, though maybe that's because I was there on a Tuesday. I wouldn't consider this a weekend all night kind of place. Plus, the food, while decent, was just your standard bar fare, but they charge you much more than you would have to pay at similar establishments. Even the appetizers, like mozzarella sticks, nachos, or quesadillas, will run you $10. Given the standard bar atmosphere and standard bar quality of the food, I didn't think the price tag was justified.

You have to seat yourself. My mom, brother, and me sat in the middle of the dining room. There were lots of TVs mounted on the walls, two with the same channel on, but some were different. Good variations. The waitress was nice, but the food was not. The crab cake slider tasted way too salty for my taste buds. The pulled pork was mediocre as well as the roast beef and meatball slider. The fries on the side tasted like frozen fries. I did not enjoy them. The BBQ Grilled Chicken on top of the pizza was good, but the crust was too soggy to chew. Lastly, the wings were the best. I tried the garlic parmasean, which were okay, I couldn't really taste the garlic. I could see it. The honey bbq flavor was much better. I would not come back again.

I keep coming back to this place so I can't exactly hate on it. However the waiter/waitress service at the tables is horrible, and mixed drinks (never order a margarita here) are pretty nasty. I ordered a red bull bomb and they brought me the glass with all the contents already in the drink... isn't that a mixed drink, which is not what I ordered?? The bear selection is pretty good though and they do have the occasional deal, which is fantastic. If your a sports fan I would definitely recommend Caddies to watch football on Sundays with your friends, but I wouldn't really consider it a place I would want to go to on a Friday or Saturday night. Especially not for a date. In fact, if someone took me there on a date, it probably would be the last one. Love the bouncers though!!

We came to get some food and watch Game 7. We sat at a table in the back. The food was decent, and came in huge portions, which is always good. The bacon+cheese tater tot appetizer was absolutely massive -- and fried to greasy perfection. The PBR was cheap, at least. Otherwise, the wait service at our table was pretty slow. And the place was noisy and full of bros. Didn't thrill me.

This is one of our favorite places to go to in Bethesda. The food has always been great whenever we go and the serving sizes always ensure that I leave with at least one to-go box. I have gone with very large groups of people and with just my boyfriend, and every time the service is on par (sorry, couldn't help it).

Caddies is definitely my favorite sports bar around. I have been coming here almost every week ever since I started playing SSB football and they were the bar sponsor. Even after they switched to Tommy Joes, a lot of the league still keeps coming to Caddies because it's just that good! Nothing beats the wings, chicken fingers, sliders, loaded nachos, cheese fries, the list just goes on! Prices really aren't bad, especially if you get there early. It's nice that they have the upstairs bar with the deck which is super low key, and then they have another large bar downstairs, a patio, and interior seating that is more restaurant-ish. So there is ample space, easy access to the bar, and the wait staff is all super friendly. Caddies is definitely my favorite bar in Bethesda!

So everytime I goto DC to visit my bestfriend, I find myself in this warm establishment. Maybe it's the fact that there are in fact, a lot of beautiful women in Bethesda. I swear it's a 34C requirement to live up there. Maybe it's the fact that they have a decent selection of beer on tap. Maybe it's the fact that I actually think they have above average bar food fare. Or.... maybe it's the fact that they make Jager bombs properly. Who really knows and I have probably already forgotten most of the good stuff due to alcohol consumption anyways. They have a solid bar staff... Meaning the two/three bartenders know their shit, don't wait for your beer to be empty, and make an effort to converse with the lowly patrons. Particularly the one like me that decides around 10:30pm on a Friday, October 2nd.... "Shots for everyone!!! Who wants some." Did that same stupid shite at McFadden's that Sat nite too. I'm an idiot. When it's warm out, they have a fun patio as well. And, after 3 years of visiting this place, I discovered the 2nd floor. How did I never see this part of Caddies? Sheesh. Creature of habit I guess. So yes, I recommend this place as a fun place to go drink, watch sports, and people watch in overly wealthy Bethesda. My lowly Atlanta paycheck can afford beer here. I will be back and probably before the end of the year. Therefore, if you like never-ending beer (just make sure you keep eyes on your tab... $150 can happen in a blink.), perfectly made Jager bombs, nachos that will knock your socks off, the 34C Happy Hour group, and just a fun overall place, then venture forth to Caddies!

Stiff drinks! Great place to grab a drink or two...ok I'm lying ...or 10. Fun bar with a good young crowd. Clean place, good bar food, in fact very good food! friendly staff, and the bartenders hustle which I always appreciate. Owners are usually present, working, and always friendly. Only small knock is warm pint glasses, but understandable when the place is busy. If you are in town don't pass this place up weather its a warm up spot before the big nite out or just hangn' local. Stay long enough and you will be cross eyed!

Honestly its a dive bar with questionable people who often times should be cut off by the bartender as they've clearly reached their limit. If you are on the cast of jersey shore you would enjoy hanging out here.

In spite of the crowds, noise, aging frat boys, etc... this is still my favorite spot in Bethesda to watch any game. They have tons of TVs, plenty of seating, and great food. When the weather is nice, they do an open-air setup on both floors. The patio on the street level is a little grungy with dirty plastic furniture, but it's enjoyable on a warm day, and the top floor has a fun balcony. You can also still see some of the TV's from outside. I really appreciate that the servers and bartenders are fast and efficient, especially with the crowds that tend to fill this place. The main draw for Caddies is to watch sports, but the food is also excellent. Their menu is mostly cheap bar food such as nachos, quesadillas, sliders, wings, pizza, and fries, but everything is really well done with fresh ingredients. Surprisingly, a favorite of mine is the salad. I realize that doesn't count as the "bar food" I was raving about, however they offer these great build-your-own salads with over 20 ingredients to choose from, and you can add chicken, shrimp, steak, etc. Actually, these salads may be the best in the area (take that, Sweetgreen!)

I have only tried this place once so far and that was for lunch. At first I was reluctant about going to a joint that is over ran with dudes who have large egos and no sense but I was fortunate that day. The place was nearly empty and the experience was ok. My buddy and I sat outside. The patio is large, the tables are small and the ground uneven, making things pretty shaky. But in a way it is still comfortable. We ordered wings as an app. The deep fry them and then put them on the broiler to add some grill marks and perhaps some more flavor. Either way, they were quite good and very meaty too. No tiny wings in this joint. We also tried the Reuben and the Pulled Pork Sand. Both were large in size with lots of fries. The quality was better than I expected and in line with most chain restaurants. Certainly a lot of food for the buck, and for Bethesda standards that says something. Service was friendly and quick, but remember, the place was pretty empty. I'd try them for lunch again, but will never go during busy times because the other reviews clearly describe a Caddies I am not interested it.

Decent bar... Good bar food with healthy portions, the bartenders tend to have a heavy hand, which means that you get what you pay for with mixed drinks. The only drawback is that the crowd tends to be a bit more on the douche bag side. Go with a group of friends to enjoy the outdoor seating and strong drinks and you will always have a good time.

Caddies is laid back with good food and even better bartenders. The people that hate caddies are the snotty yuppies who should go around the corner to Black Finn.

Great bartenders, yummy food and drinks, and a great hang out for all ages. A great sports bar which can be crowded if a local game is on. Love the mini burgers and their fries are amazing!! Newly updated menu with options for all types of eaters! Love Caddies!

The food here is pretty good. The fries are battered and delicious. The beer bucket and pitcher deals are sweet and a good way to drink amongst multiple people. The Sunday football atmosphere is awesome with fans from varying teams and TVs everywhere tuned to every game

  • Sarah E.

Yes, I can see where some people would be bummed by the presence of frat-boys for life (and no one dislikes this genre of human being more than myself) but I don't think that stereotype applies to the majority of the crowd when we go to Caddie's, which is on Sundays to watch NFL games. (Plus, it's a sports bar. If you don't want to be surrounded by uncouth sports fans being loud and occasionally obnoxious, go eat Thai somewhere.) We go here on Sundays to watch the games, since we can't get a dish at our apartment and seeing only 4 games a week is not enough, especially since we are actually interested in west coast teams. Caddies plays every game on at least two screens, so if we arrive early enough (especially if the Redskins game is on) you should not have a problem finding a seat with a view of the games you want to see. Parties of 4 or more can slide into the back booths that each have a television screen you can tune to any game you want. The waitresses are generally very nice and attentive, and they have really good bar food (delicious hot wings, really good pizza and, as previously mentioned, the sliders) for decent prices. Plus, it's really close to where we live. So overall, Caddie's is a great place to go for a Sunday or Saturday afternoon to mingle with sports fans from all over the country, have some good beer, and enjoy the game.

Decent Happy Hour specials...nice crowd on the patio and a good place to watch sports... Tuesdays are fun upstairs after SSB softball games and the specials they have for the league are outstanding. Just a fun sports bar/hangout...Definitely if you are in the Under 30 crowd...Some of the food is pretty good (BBQ Sliders). While other food is just your standard bar food. Drink and drive at your own risk....police all over the place near the exits to the garage at night waiting for people to stumble out

I'll be honest, I had BIG doubts about Caddie's before going in. I've rolled by on numerous occasions when the patio has been overrun by guys who all seemed to be in competition for the title of Maryland Frat Boy Archetype. Now I went to Maryland, and I love Maryland, but frat dudes at Maryland-- with their text book sort-of good looks, overt sense of entitlement, loud mouths and soft brains-- aren't really my idea of a good time. Pairing that crowd and a Bethesda location, and I had pretty much written Caddie's off as someplace I was never going to go. A couple weeks back, however, I really wanted to watch both a Raiders game (Raiders, baby!) and a Bills game (Marshawn Lynch, baby!) and after surveying the bar options I settled on Caddie's because it was close and the staff swore on the phone they would have both games. For those reasons alone I went in, and was pleasantly surprised. I don't know what Caddie's is like when it's not a football Sunday (nor do I want to know, honestly), but for football it's really pretty good. The bar and dining area both have numerous quality TV's, including one large projection screen. The game schedule for the TVs was clearly outlined on the door, so you could find where you wanted to be easily and didn't have to fight with someone else over what game to watch. The dining room seating was crowded but not over run, the other patrons were friendly and not overtly fratboy-y, and given the crowd the room noise was surprisingly manageable. The dining room bench seats were comfortable, the tables were spacious, and the staff was attentive without being bitchy when we didn't really order a hell of a lot during our four hours there. We didn't get a lot of food or drinks, but we did order a plate of nachos and asked that half have black beans and half have refried. The waitress split the order willingly and brought out two enormous plates of nachos-- so big we had to ask her if she had actually placed two orders. She hadn't. Soda refills were free, which was generous since most people were there for several hours and nursing sodas along with their adult beverages. Our vodka crans (yeah, boring, I know) were decently stiff and not outrageously priced. I was really quite pleased with my experience at Caddie's and would willingly go back to watch football or another sports event. Caddie's happy hour on a summer night, however, still ain't gonna be my cup of tea.

As a social sports bar, Caddies on Cordell works. Don't go to this place looking for high sophistication, go for having some beer with other late 20's, early 30's folk, maybe grabbing some average pub fare and watching a game. The place features two outdoor sitting areas, one upstairs and downstairs, as well as an individual bar for each level. The food is good for the typical sports bar, but again, it's hard to find much under $10. Service here is above par for your typical sports bar, with bartenders being very friendly and very quick. A quick note: you have to be 21 to get into this joint(don't bring your fakes as they have a license scanner), or else they will escort you out, as I witnessed on Friday night. Just a warning to those younger folk.

  • Alex O.

It's a typical Bethesda sports bar. Interior design has no character, charm, or originality - think Applebees with more TVs. Food is mediocre, even by mediocre bar food standards. Clientele is typical Bethesda bar crowd: young, white, preppy people with cash in their wallets who like to be seen but whose personalities are often as intriguing as a piece of cardboard. Weekend nights have a serious meat-market feel. However...I'll give it props in a few areas. First off, it's got a large patio, which is nice, although the proximity of the dumpsters sometimes leaves the patio stinking like rotting garbage on summer days. Second, the draft selection (while still basically watery domestic) is slightly larger than some of the other similar bars in Bethesda and the beers are reasonably priced. Third, the place is independently owned by folks who live in the community. Fourth, there is a decent amount of space, so you usually don't feel too crowded. I've never been to watch games there, but I assume it functions well as a sports bar.

    (2)
  • Raymond W.

After failing to try out Caddies twice due to over crowded-ness on a weekend, I came here for a office happy hour where drink specials were $12 bucks and there was enough space to move around, yet feel lively. The crowd is a little older from late 20s to early 30s, but enough people in my office to keep me occupied. 1/2 off apps were a plus as well to substitute for dinner, and I left feeling satisfied. Caddies and Tommy Joe's both top my votes in casual bars in Bethesda.

  • Brendan D.

Caddies is what it is : a sports bar for watching local college games and Redskins/Wizards, and to a lesser extent the Caps. The best times to go are 1) Saturdays after SSB football games. They have awesome food and beer specials if you wear your shirt from the game. Super cheap omelette's, mini-burgers, and pulled pork sliders. I believe the pitchers are only 6 or 7 bucks too. 2) Thursday nights. My Thursday night social life is a dagger because we have weekly meetings on Friday at 7 am, but on the rare occasions I can tag along with my Friends, this is the place to me. yes it is a meat market, but this is where the talent in Bethesda goes on Thursdays. I've also enjoyed a few Terps football games here, and 1 "night before thanksgiving" where it seemed my entire High School was out. For a time my friends and I referred to it as "Bentleys South", because it has a ton of former UMD 20 somethings at pretty much all times. The bartenders are always really cool, and the food is above average for a sports bar. The people that knock Caddies are a little harsh I think, you just have to have realistic expectations for it.

I'm not a frat guy or a bookworm, but do like the atmosphere. It's a sportsbar that can get pretty crowded at times. Be patient or go somewhere else. HH food specials are a great deal. Chicken Tenders and Sliders are my two staples.

2.5 stars Food is ok -- not sure I would come here to eat again -- even with the $7.99 lunch specials. Good happy hour place -- the deck is nice -- not sure about the patio with the dumpsters sharing the same space -- I am amazed that someone decided that was a good idea or even passable......might be better sitting upstairs on the deck.

Caddie's has Silver Strike Bowling. That alone makes this place totally awesome! So the BF, his friends and I came over here after our mediocre meal at Black Finn. Grabbed a table and had a really sweet server who took good care of us. The guys had beer and I had another bloody mary. Bloody mary was SPOT ON - spicy and yummy. Since we got jipped on the nachos at the other place, we decided to order nachos here. OMG!! The biggest pile of goodness on chips ever! Now these are how nachos should be done. Black bean sauce, two kinds of cheese broiled until melty on good chips, topped with HUGE dollops of sour cream, guac and pico de gallo. Our server even gave us a side cup of chili since the BF is vegetarian (the giant vegetarian boyfriend) and I don't eat beef. The other two guys thought this was awesome. We hung out, played some silver strike, and just enjoyed ourselves. As the night moved on, it got really crowded, but not in a crazy way. Everyone was enjoying themselves and we had a blast. The only thing I don't like about Caddie's is the women's bathroom situation. Seriously, when that place gets crowded, there's a lot of people in there. That means a lot of girls who have to use the facilities. Two bathroom stalls for all those girls is really not nice. So if you're there and it's crowded, plan on waiting a while to use the bathroom - DON'T wait until you're about to burst or you'll be sorry. Overall though, Caddie's does the sports bar thing right. Good food, good prices, good atmosphere. Even better in the summer on that roof deck.

Very affordable place for some happy hours snacks and drinks. I typically go for the wings, nachos, or sliders, all are half off 4-9 I believe? nice friendly staff and close to work for me so it's a good stop when in the mood.

OK, it's true, at times this place is definitely a meat market. But I'm single, is there anything wrong with me knowing which places to go when having a girly self-esteem day? I used to work in Bethesda, and was a pretty big fan of coming here for happy hours after work, and just recently I returned for old times sakes with a former co-worker, and we had a blast. Honestly though, this is one of those places where you have to be somewhat intoxicated to enjoy, otherwise it just looks like an upscale frat party. Girls, come here to get hit on. Straight males, it's definitely a, how do you say, sausage fest.

I've been here a couple of times for some late night bar food. The atmosphere is typical. Sports oriented - but nothing that really stands out to me. Staff is very nice and prompt with their service. The food is also your typical bar food, but they are quite generous with the portions. They have very good happy hours specials - so def check out the half off apps deal...very good. The nachos are pretty good, as well as the wings. 3.5!

There isn't a better bar to hang out than Caddies. The food is undercover good, and has definitely gotten a lot better than what it was years ago. Give credit where it's due the beer is cold, the food is good and there isn't a better place to watch sports. The staff is a good group, that always recognize a familiar face.

I would say this place gets somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Some of my friends love this place. It's a fun, sports bar with 2 levels. Packed on weekends and I generally have a good time here. The bartenders are a little sleazy but it keeps things interesting. I have noticed that it looks like to be more guys than girls but maybe because of the "sporty" atmosphere. The outside seating is ideal for people watching or being seen.

I haven't eaten the food here but I can imagine it's a lot like the douchebags who tend to frequent this place - greasy and nausea-inducing. Joking aside, Caddie's is the type of place to go to if you're into any of the following: painting yourself for a sporting event, Pearl Jam, Maxim, dating strippers, taglines such as "git 'er done!" If it's a friendly pub you're looking for, walk a few blocks down to Harp & Fiddle.

***Update***I generally like this place, but the tall ID guy up front touched tapped my boys ass. They don't know each other and he didn't mistake him for someone else cause he just looked at his ID. It was weird, but I laughed at my friend all night. When the sun is shining and the weekend is nearing put your drinking shoes on cause it's happy hour at Caddie's. Caddie's on Thurday and Friday evenings are alot of fun. Great outdoor seating if you're lucky to get a table. Inside, it like your old college bar. Same decor. Same Golden Tee machine. Same old guy that hasn't realized people his age drink some where else. Crowds are usually not too bad, but if it's after 10 there usually a line to get in. The food is average mediocre bar food. You have your generic burgers, over cooked chicken fingers, and the epitome of bar foods the taco salad (10,000 calories but still counts as eating a salad). But no one comes for the food. You come for hot girls, stiff drinks and drunk rides home.

remember back in college you would go to the local bar, order a beer and watch the game from one of maybe 50 TV's that were tacked on the wall? and the drunk, stumbling, over hormonal guys would hit on you and spill beer all over you...and you couldn't really hear what they were saying because there was some fight in the background and a really bad Outfield song playing in the background?? yeaaaaa...... this is caddies. about 8 years later. and you're 26. and everyone else is too...or older. but nothing has changed. at. all. came here trying to grab a quick drink before going out and ended up just standing there gawking at the zoo around me. i didn't even finish my beer (SHOCK). i literally grabbed my friends hand and said "GET ME THE F*&^ OUT OF HERE" but the most disturbing part is that everyone here is..business professional. i'm talking late 20's early 30's and in suits. it's some weird twilight zone i don't know. but no, i will never go back. EVER.

It's a decent bar. A lot of outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The drink specials are alright. I've met friends here who live in Bethesda. I wouldn't bother going here if you don't already live near by.

Been here for happy hour twice now. The drinks are reasonably priced, service is good, appetizers are fine. Overall, its a really basic sports bar. The only thing setting this place apart is the front patio. Plenty of room for your group and the servers don't forget about you.

I cannot stand Caddies. Every time I'm there I hate myself a little when I leave. Every post-frat boy yuppie with his popped collar and white sun glasses is there trying to hit on anything that moves. Arguably, they DO have good bar food- especially their sliders. But I would find somewhere else to have Happy Hour and save yourself the pain of the "Caddies experience".

Maybe i'm just unlucky. Every time i've been to caddies the service has been horrendous. And it's not even the fault of the waitress usually. It would seem to be management's fault as i've never seen more than 1 waitress working at this place covering both the outside seating as well as the bar. That combined w/ the fact that the food is absolutely forgettable doesn't rank highly for me.

Best sports bar in the area. # 1 reason-the awesome bar food. They have multiple kinds of sliders and awesome bacon cheese fries. They also have patio seating and the bottom floor has garage doors that slide up when it is nice out-which makes you feel like you are outside. Also the top floor has a deck with additional outdoor seating. During football season this is a great place with multiple large flat screen TVs and individual TVs in each booth you can watch any game you want to (great for friends with diff fav. teams) They also sponsor multiple social events in the Bethesda area including the Social Sports of Bethesda and frequent bar crawls so there is always a great beer special to find.

The simple fact that I can stumble home from this place makes me like it. I usually go with friends that live in the area. The place is pretty big and has a big bar both downstairs and upstairs. Plus there are waitresses (most of whom are pretty cute) darting all over the place taking drink orders and serving them pretty quickly. The music is okay. Ranging from rock classics to hip-hop. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is that this place is a bit homogenous...not much diversity to it. But I guess Bethesda's not really your place to go for much diversity anyway right?

Caddies is a home away from home for me. I love it there. I've watched more sporting events there in the last 6 years than in my own home. They have the best bar menu in town, a primo patio and deck, and bartender / owners that never forget a name, a face, or a drink. When I have friends visiting from out of town, Caddies is always our first stop on a night out and the place to be all day Sunday for the games. Enjoy.

typical sports bar. large TV's and good beer selection. Food is standard bar grease stuff - wings, fried everything, etc. Friendly bar staff

Nice place for a drink or food, which is better than you might think. Nice patio outside or open area upstairs if it's a nice day. Also spacious inside. Some good deals to be had with the sports leagues which come here.

During the warmer months, the front patio at Caddie's is hard to beat to relax and have some drinks. The beers are reasonably priced, and there is usually something on special. As far as food goes, I have tried the nachos, which are awesome; the wings which were ok; and a steak sandwich which was good. Service is usually on point and overall it is a good value for Bethesda.

Okay, my rating is based on my experience with this place years ago. Like 6-7 years ago when I was a young, single 20-something. Back then, this place was my favorite watering hole. Always a fun, laid back place for locals to go and mingle and check out other singles. Summers were especially great with the outdoor area. Music was decent. The food was bleh but then again you didn't come here for the food. So based on past experience, I would give this a 3.5 star. It was a good place for that time of my life. But that's it. Some things just need to stay in the past.

I used to work in Bethesda, and it was fun to come to Caddie's after work for some drinks and appetizers, which were usually on special. They have great mini-hamburgers and spicy chicken. There is a nice outside patio, but it can get pretty hot out there. The inside usually has a nice mix of people, and is somewhat crowded on Friday evenings. It's bearable though. This part of downtown Bethesda is sort of far from the metro, but it's walkable. There are tons of other bars to go to if you are at Caddie's and get sick of it.
