the customer service was awesome. the beer and drinks were good. food was ok. nothing exciting. the waiter was great and very attentive to use. there was other clients. only part we/i hated is that there was a younger toddler having a fit in the bar area (we sat at the bar) all we wanted to do is relax and not having a baby yell and scream. not a normal scream, but a screech as if they were getting hurt like crazy-ths was for atleast 15-20 minutes before we finally were able to leave. kids/babies should not be in the bar or near it.

Ale House has taken advantage of the fact that they are the only decent sports bar on this side of the island. Locals and visitors will go because there are no other choices in Kahului. Yes, they do have tons of televisions and a good selection of beer but their food and alcohol mixed drinks are grossly overpriced. Their food used to be really good and consistent. Over the past few months, their value and taste has gone down and even to say- terrible. The food came out cold then we sent it back and the plate came back with a smaller portion and then over cooked. I am hoping they improve eventually but I would take the drive to Tiffany's or somewhere in Kihei. The amount you spend in gas would be definitely worth it!

Fabulous! Three pool tables, great food, drinks and music! Close to airport so makes for a perfect place to hang out when your flight gets delayed.

Good pastrami sandwich, blackened Mahi wrap and turkey club. Great fries, shoestring and sweet potato. It's grimy and smelly but decent food. We were hungry from the plane

I've been here multiple times but I've only checked in 1 time for some reason :-/. We came here for happy hour before we went to see Dave Chapelle at the MACC. I was disappointed in the drink specials for happy hour. $3 PBR....... Gross. I had a couple of Coronas and they were only $4 so it worked out alright. In the past I've eaten here a few times. They actually have a sushi bar at this place which is pretty legit. I've only ever had their bar food though. Wings, nachos, and edemame. It's what you would expect out of a bar. Pretty standard issue.

Might be a good place to check out for the live music or sports, especially if your from Hawaii. I didn't have any food, but ordered the beer special of the day. Hardly a special! In fact, the bartender charged me a dollar more than the price listed on the normal pricing at their bar menu. Beer listed for 4.50 on the menu, and he charged me 5.50....what kind of special is that? Perhaps a special tip for him taking advantage of a "tourist". I suggest you find another place to go.

Blah. This place is OK. It was the nearest bar to the airport so by default it got our business. It's kind of dirty and old looking. My turkey club was decent though. The potato wedges tasted a bit burnt. I'm going to look for a better place to kill time before my flight.

I really would give it 2.5 stars, but i can't. I will be nice and throw in a half star because i feel nice today. We come here every now and then only because there's not many places to go around here. We usually order the kalua pig nachos and buffalo wings. Oh, they have a yummy cookie in a skillet with vanilla ice cream. The parmesean fries are pretty good. A good place to come watch sports. Nothing fancy. Seating is very limited. Kid friendly. The sushi is okay- nothing to write home about. I'm not sure what their hours are. We went a few weeks ago at 1145 pm on a friday night and were told that they were only serving drinks till 1200. We left. What bar stops serving at 1200? Oh, the ale house. Let's get to the service---- it is nonexistent. The service here is absolutely horrible. Good luck trying to get any help. Flag down a waitress so you can ask for a menu. Flag someone down again so u can order. Flag her down again for drinks, or for better luck, just walk to the bar yourself to order. The ale house has definitely gone downhill.....way down. Super disappointing since there's not many options here in town.

If your looking for a decent selection of beer, and a very good stocked bar then Ale House is were you need to be. the food is your typical bar grub but the best part is they have a small sushi area that serves up gooooood sushi. Fairly reasonable prices compared to the hotels/resorts on the island. The staff is way cool and helpful and fun. live music! and also have karaoke too. we were there about 4 hours and had a blast. Beers, shots, pool, sushi, and mexican car bombs were created here by thats right a mainlander. Mahalo!!!

Beef and pork burger was good. If I was really hungry I would add another beef patty. Drinks were decent, not to expensive. If I was waiting for a cab to the airport, I would come in again. Live band right now on a sunday, they sound better than the jukebox. Pleasant.

We stopped by for both lunch & after concert drinks (2 visits in 1 day). For lunch, I had the Mushroom burger & sweet potato fries, he had the Rueben sandwhich. For our beer selection: Deschutes Inversion IPA. Yummy food! Service great! Our waitress did not disappear & she was very helpful in deciding our beer selection. During our meal, a young man asked us if we enjoyed our food. We both nodded in agreement & he smiled & left. Found out later that was the owner of the establishment. Last night after the Bob Dylan concert at the Maui MACC, we were thirsty & came back. Ordered the Caterpillar sushi, hamachi roll & California roll. Our waitress was Nicole & she is a sweetheart. Please promote her to manager, if not already done. We have returned here every year for a brief visit. We promise to return on our next visit.

Went here to kill time before our flight off of Maui. We weren't very hungry but wanted a little sumthin sumthin. We split the nachos & they were perfect! Got a couple of cold beers to wash them down & played a little cards while listening to the live duo. The windows on the front of the building are covered with dark black drapes so they look closed but they most definitely were open. :)

I went in on a Wednesday. It was pretty full, but I got a table right away. I wanted the fish special, but they were out already by 7:00. Ordered the fried fish plate and it was average. Service was good at the table. Kareoke started and I thought it would be fun to hang out. Went to the bar and was ignored by the bartender. Had to beg for a beer, she never came back to see if I wanted another and then I had to beg for my bill. (It was NOT busy, apparently the blond bartender only likes to serve men!) The kareoke singers were all at least 100 years old and former lounge singers from Vegas. While they had nice voices, I wasn't expecting a night full of Sinatra songs or even better, a couple spirituals. This would be a great place to take your grandparents, especially if their taste buds no longer work.

Wifey and I went here to watch 2012 World Series. The TV's did not show score and waitress said it was FOX's issue not theirs. We later went to another unnamed sports bar and found this NOT to be true as a side note. This rating is not for the food (we hear its good but cant say first hand). Beer was totally overpriced and the pour was not professional (A tap beer will always have a head--it should not be 1/3 of the pint glass). Perhaps we hit it on an off day, but we don't see the attraction and there are far better places (and least with cheaper tap beer) to view sports at.

Went here with the roomies for a beer on a saturday night. The place was packed, which doesnt happen ever out here. They had a live band playing reggae that was pretty awesome. The butterface at the door gave me a nice dirty look, but she can shove it. Go here for good music and a great selection of beer and cocktails

I don't understand the low marks for Ale House (I almost didn't come because the marks were so low). Came on Saturday evening... Great atmosphere and service, clean, great menu, plenty of parking, cool local music.... Prices are about right for Maui (Hawaii in general). I live on Oahu, not a sports bar this cool that's not "corporate". You got people on layovers giving their "expert" opinions about a local sports bar in Maui???.... Wow. This place is hell'a cool. For you locals... Go to Oahu and find a cooler sports bar with cheaper price brah! Out...

We liked the Bikini Blond on tap. Band was good and they had a guy teaching some hula moves for the guys. Food was decent. There were couples and families there.

Service was great. The ladies always came to check up on us & were very friendly. Happy hour is ok... Not much too choose from. But, all we ordered was pupus... Onion rings were kinda oily for me, fully loaded chicken nachos were really good, calamari was made different than usual... Batter was falling off the calamari. Other than that, lol, the food we usually order here is really good.

Went on a Friday.... It was REALLY quiet. There was no one in the place. Didn't try the food. Just wanted to take my uncle out to get drinks and supposedly that was the place. We had one drink and left. The bartender didn't really engaging. Maybe we'll come back to try the food since the pictures look good.

We love this place. Very casual, they blend sports bar with family dining. Great place to catch the games, UFC fights etc. Their menu is HUGE! Always hard to choose and always yummy!

The Ale House is the local drinking hole and has a charming feel to it as a result. We were entertained by a local musician who claims to have been picked up while hitchhiking by Willie Nelson, and he provided a lot of relaxing covers. There were a surprising amount of vegetarian options on the menu which pleased us. The grilled vegetable wrap was tasty but had a lot more lettuce than grilled veggies. The sesame mahi-mahi was pretty tasty but still has that "bar food" flavor. The Maui beer on tap was a refreshing beverage for those who were tired from a "long flight" from O'ahu.

  • Shanel S.

Food was ok. Drinks and service was soooooo slow. I've been twice, they have a lot of tv's to watch sports but the management needs to have more people on the floor to improve service....especially if there is a game on!

I was lucky enough to visit this place quite a few times during my month long trip in Maui. It was suggested by a co-worker. I walked in and liked the set up. I quickly sat a table top near the bar and was asked shortly after if I needed a menu and or woud like a drink. I ordered a bud light as it was happy hour and for Maui they had one of the better happy hour deals I saw. There was also some live music being place which was pretty good! The guys name I believe was Bruddah Francis. They have live music a few days of the week and it adds to the local island feel! :) I ordered an appetizer of Edamame and I must say WOW! They bring you a jumbo basket lightly salted. These things are pretty damn good! I was used to getting a small portion at some other places I had been too but they by far had the best Ive ever had. Anyways I then enjoyed watching just about every and any sporting event on the many TV's they had in there and being a Dodger fan I was able to watch some games here with the time difference. For my meal I ordered the Ale Battered Fish and Potato Wedges with Coleslaw. It was like HEAVEN in my mouth! I swear these things were HUGE chunks of mahi mahi with a great tasting batter. I didnt leave one thing left on my plate thats how good they were! I had them probably about 8 more times during my time there. I did also have the turkey club (which was pretty good itself) and the nacho appetizers were petty good too! I did also happen to have my birthday celebrated here during my time in Maui, and I was presented with a huge ice cream sundae that could feed two or three easily! Thank you to the owner Stacy who I got to know during my frequent visits. I'm not sure why there are some negative reviews on here, as I would recommend this place to every one of my friends when they come vacation on Maui. I'd even come back for a day just to have those Ale Battered fish and chips again! I know the new owners (The Sundins) took over the Ale House last year in August and have since transformed it into a family friendly, improved taste and quality restaurant. Some of the waitresses too are pretty cute ;) I herd they also just added a SUSHI bar according to their website! I'm definitely planning another trip to MAUI VERY VERY SOON! Wish there was one of these back here on the mainland!

Went for breakfast served on Sunday only, very good French toast, great service. It's a sports bar people , not the Hyatt.

Went here before heading back to Oahu. The atmosphere was fun. I liked the trivia "newsletter" at the table. That kept us busy while we waited for our food. I got the Portuguese bean soup (wasn't that good), and the ceasar salad (wasn't that great either). Both were edible though, and I wasn't expecting first class dining at a sports bar anyways. Boyfriend got the steak and he thought it was good. All in all i wouldn't crave to go back there or anything. If I do, it would be more of a convenience thing since its close to where we returned our rental car.

The change in management has served the Ale House well. Gone are the days of tepid, days old ahi poke. We ordered the veggie pizza and edamame. The feta cheese gave the pizza a nice non-defrosted touch. The edamame was well...edamame. Nothing special. I recommend not coming here on a Sunday during football season though because the noise makes it difficult to think, much less hold a conversation. This place gets three stars for having an awesome, diverse beer selection and a great improvement on the food menu.

A couple of days ago it was my birthday and my girlfriend decided to take me to ale house in Kahului for dinner. When we pulled up i was stocked cause i had been wanting to go there for a few months now. since it was my birthday i wanted to have a great meal. we wanted to start our meal with water and an appetizer (The coconut shrimp which was really good) we also ordered it with a Cesar salad and i wanted a cup of soup. when we put our order in the server was prompt to put it in the computer. about 10 minutes later when she refilled our water we gave her our meal order thinking the appetizers should be out soon. i ordered a burger, my girlfriend ordered a fish wrap. 20 minutes later our appetizer, salad, burger and fish wrap show up at the table. now i got a feast in front of me and i'm trying to decide what i'm going to eat first because something else is def. going to be getting cold.. as i'm thinking this my soup comes out.. i ate the soup first while my burger got cold. the coconut shrimp was cold by the time i got to it. and needing water, my server never showed up to my table until the end when we we were done and had been waiting for her to make it back to our table for at least half an hour so i never even got to order a drink and didn't go to the bar cause my food was already room temp.. durning this time i tried to look for a manager on the floor because i wanted to express how this had been the worst birthday dinner of my life.. but by the time i got the bill i was so over it that all i wanted to do was get out of there go home, relax, and think about how good the rest of the day had been. to be honest with you i wanted to walk out... then i wanted to find a manager to them to there face i'm walking out but since i couldn't even get my server to come over and give me half way decent service i ended up bitting the bullit and paying for the meal we even tipped the server $10 which she did not deserve... but we have worked in restaurants, we know how much a tip is worth to a server. we let her know tho that she didn't deserve it... i'm not saying this place is the worst on the island i'm just saying that i happened to go there on a night that my server couldn't hack it and was to overwhelmed with the environment there was a live band playing the bar looked packed and our server looked like she had to many tables in her section. i would just expect better service for the price i paid not only that but on my birthday of all the days you had to screw up... we'll probably go back just to give them another shot but def. will not be sitting in that servers section.

My wife and I stopped in for a casual lunch and loved the Ale House. This could easily become our regular hang out. Owners and staff are fantastic and extremely customer focused and friendly. Give it a try....you'll love it. -joe and claire

After a long flight to Maui, we stop here for a quick bite before the drive to Kapalua. Order some food for everyone. Burgers were not terrible. Loco Moco was passable. Kailua port similar. One person attempts to order Spaghetti with Meatballs. She is told they don't have spaghetti with meatballs - they only have spaghetti. The person says "fine." Fast forward 35 minutes. The rest of us have received food. The spaghetti still isn't here. Finally, the server tells us there has been some sort of confusion with the spaghetti - they didn't have a pot of pasta pre-made or something like that. We cancelled the spaghetti and left. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Service was great and people were very friendly. Unfortunately the food isn't something I would go out the way for. If you're looking for a great spot to watch a football game and have a drink, then this would be the place. Not sure if they show all the NFL games or not because I came on Monday night game.

Yuck. Service was unfriendly and "whaddya want" style. Inside smelled dirty and dingy, bad lighting. Not clean. Food just flat out sucked. Bland, boring and unimaginative bar food. You can skip this one.

Don't go here! This place is the reason I finally signed up for Yelp. My husband, son & I just walked out. We are taking a red eye back to LA and really wanted to eat before our long flight home. We walked in and the sign said seat yourself, so we did. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to bring us a menu, I got up and found a high chair for our son. It took 3 baby wipes to clean off the high chair. Gross. Still nobody came by to help us. The waitress was serving all of the tables around us but refused to make eye contact with us. She even started changing channels on the tv. Our baby was so hungry that we started feeding him his food. After he finished his dinner, a couple walked in and sat down. The same waitress walked over to them, took their drink order and brought them menus. This was the last straw for us. How do you miss a table with a high chair? After we left, we saw the waitress go over to our table and take the high chair back where I found it. We still have no idea why she wouldn't serve us. Maybe she thought we just needed a dirty place to feed our baby.

I went for late-nite on St. Patty's. They closed at 1 a.m. Not sure what time the kitchen closes, but I think we ordered at about 11:30 p.m. They have a Brett Farve jersey and a signed note from him framed and posted. They have pool tables, arcade games, megatouch games, numerous TV's, but no dart boards. FOOD: The buffalo wings were spicy enough but they were not of the classic "buffalo" variety. They were brown rather than orange, if that description helps you any. They were served with choice of ranch or bleu cheese at no extra charge. Being the buffalo purist, of course I ordered the bleu cheese, and it was good; way better than Hooter's bleu cheese. However, I would choose Hooter's wings over the Ale House's any day. Ale House wings were $6.50 for 6 wings, dressing of choice, celery and carrot sticks. My friend ordered the teriyaki steak medium rare. I'm happy to report that though it was a rather small steak, it actually came out medium rare. My friend didn't share, so I don't know if it was good... I was sad I didn't get to try it. Next time. I think it was around $12.50 for this selection. The steak came with choice of fries or rice, but they ran out of rice, so we got the fries. They tasted like KFC fries. Not the wedges, the fries. So I'd say the fries were pretty darn good. I thought it was cool that for $2 or $3 more one could make an order of fries "garlic parmesean". Mmmm, I'll have to get that next time too! The bartender was pretty busy because it was St. Patty's, but I have to say that she should've at least done a perimeter check of all the people seated at the bar once in awhile. She didn't do it EVER, so service was pretty frickin' slow for us seated at the bar in a corner where one of the mega-touch games were located. Seriously, she never looked our way. I had to walk over to where the waiters/waitresses ordered their drinks to finally get her attention, and even then it took awhile. I would've given this place 3 stars but for the poor service. *Note: we drove into the Ale House parking lot on a Friday night and decided to leave because it seemed to be a dance-club thing. I'm not super into that, but if you are, maybe call and see when this sort of thing goes on. I'm not sure if it's every Friday or what.

The food was bland and uninteresting. The bad thing that needs to be mentioned is that when you request sauces, i.e. Ranch...you have to pay. Now that sucks. Also, when we were there (during the late lunch hour) it seemed that every TV screen had the same ESPN college game on...talk about no variety.

Went there last week Sunday, 1/16/10, to watch the NFL playoff games. It was disgustingly hot in there. Apparently the A/C was broken and they were using fans to cool the place. It's freakin Hawaii, what restaurant does not have an A/C. I was having a cold beer and still sweating. Might go back only because they have a lot of TVs for sports.

3rd and long - PASS. In Wailuku for the St. Anthony's Tournament, so I called around noon to ask if they would still be open around 10:15 to 10:30 with the full menu so we could feed a high school basketball team and their families, a group of about 26. They said sure, so I said I would check with the group and call back to confirm. I called back around 2 and told them we would be there around 10:15 for sure. They said they would have the tables set up for us. After the tournament, I called again to say we were on our way. When we got there, the first words out of my daughters mouth was "pretty sketchy place Dad". When we went in, they said they knew nothing about any reservation. The kitchen was half closed and only had a late night menu available. Choice of 2 entrees - hamburger or chicken sandwich. I asked how this could be after calling in advance. The waitress said "I don't know, but no one told me anything." The security was wearing a pistol. Basically what I would call a honky tonk bar with food if you get there before 10.

2.5-3 stars food 2.5 ambiance best bets: the burgers. my friend loves the mac salad. skip the kalbi - huge portion but way to sweet. and ladies bring a jacket, the a/c in here is cranked on high. friendly but slo-ooow service. i could elaborate but frankly it is a...skip.

Me: I want a beer, but I'm hungry. Him: Let's go to Tamura's and stock up on beer then get food. You see my priorities here? Beer! Since it's down the road from Tamura's and the hotel, we decided to check it out. It's a typical sports bar/casual restaurant thing. Small area for live music, booths, bar, sushi bar. The lights were kind of bright, but whatever. There could have been more tvs around, but I think the draw is live music. They don't have house brews, just typical draught and bottles. I have to say a very decent selection of draught beers! Draught is so awesome! Food was awesome, but we only got a pizza. The pizza had Maui grown beef! Support local! We had intended to order more food when the late night happy hour started, but we forgot. Service was ok, friendly but a little slow when getting drinks. When we saw more friends arrived, they were nice enough to let us move to sit with them without having to close out one tab and start another. There's ample parking outside, and if you want more food, Wendy's is next door.

A very decent bar for watching sports. We stopped by here to see the US women's soccer team play in the world cup. The good: a) Friendly service. Waitress was attentive, patient and friendly b) Good selection of beer c) They have a sushi chef inside the bar, with a (separate) extensive sushi menu. The less good: The non-sushi menu was less than inspiring. Would be cool if they can throw in some of local / islands items on there.

Love this place, come here often. Happy Hour specials are always great. Especially love their EXCELLENT Sushi bar. And if you sit in Nicole's section, then the service is EXCELLENT also.

Really interesting bar scene, which welcomes people of all ages. I even saw people with toddlers here. I came here on a Thursday night with my dad, siblings, and my husband, and had an enjoyable experience. There's a pool table, and a platform for local music performers. We were treated to some popular love ballads on guitar, performed by a trio with an island twist. In the mood for something light, I ordered the saimin and did not expect much from a noodle soup made at a place called Ale House, but the broth was surprisingly flavorful. It was a pleasant surprise; the bowl was HUGE, chock full of noodles, spam, char sui, scallions, onions, bean sprouts, fish cakes, and even fresh mushrooms! My sister and I were treating, so we were pleased to discover the bill only came out to $160, and included entrees for 7 people, sides, and multiple beers. Solid place!

Great sports bar in central Maui! The sushi offerings are delicious. Can't beat live music and cheap pool. Good food, fun environmental, great service.

Service was decent and food was bar type but honestly this 3star review was because we asked 3-4 times if the band could lower it an octive or two because we had to scream ( talk hard and high anyway) to speak to one another and it was important conversation so I guess that manager taught us a lesson here. Server said she told the manager and 2 reminders and 30 minutes later, they did not budge. I expressly noted that 5 of the 6 people were heavy helpers and we would Reilly appreciate if they turn it down a bit! Well here we sit writing ......

Piss poor service from the "hostess" when we walked in having our menus thrown on the dirty table and dirty booth seats. The waitress did offer her opinions on what she though was good. They had a special of tacos that turned out looking delicious, but the shells turned out to be a taco shell that was deep fried again with fat and oil and grease all over your place. Same with the onion rings -- the batter was so disgusting tasting that we could not finish the order. All of us in the family of 4 were unhappy with our dinner and even felt nauseous because of the amount of fat, grease, and oil used unnecessarily. They know squat about beer. They poured a Guinness into a Miller glass!!! And they did not properly poor it into the glass. WHAT?!?!? Any reputable drinking establishment would know the proper way to pour a draft Guinness. They had tvs on all over the place wanting to be a sports bar. But they also had live music -- but the place was so loud we really could not hear the guitarist. I don't know why folks like this place. We did not. They do not offer kam or military discounts.

Came here on a rainy Monday night. I asked the hotel concierge where to get a beer and good casual grindz... this is what she recommended. This is a straight up sports bar. They have 20 plus big screen TVs! I wish we had a local watering hole like this in Ewa! I was by myself so I sat at the bar. It was incredibly clean. It didn't have that nasty fermented smell that a great deal of bars have in honolulu. The bartender was friendly and on top of things. So I was impressed with the selection of bourbons... top shelf for a sports bar. They could use a few more beers on tap but that is just my opinion. Ok, so here is the surprise... The steak! They serve fresh, grass feed, Maui raised beef. I know, this is not a steak house so temper your expectations. However, this us the best roadhouse steak I've ever had, and I've had the best. They alternate the cut nighyly, but I lucked into the T-bone. I asked for it medium and blackened/cajun style. It was succulent. (I still can't believe I'm saying this about a $20 steak!) Granted it is thin cut... but just try it and see what I'm talking about. They even finish with butter! I'll be back! In conclusion, this is an affordable/welcome alternative to expensive steak houses and a nice place to catch a game. I didn't try it but they also offer a sushi bar. Also, I was surprised to see good live music on a Monday night.

Fair prices, good selection. I was impressed with my meal. I ordered the steak which was a ribeye and I was a little skeptical but it came out great. My vegetables and mashed potatoes were good as well. My wife ordered the ribs and macaroni salad and was not impressed. The place has a good laid back atmosphere with a lot of locals. It was a fun place. I would come again next time I'm in Maui.

If u wanna have fun, don't go to the Ale House. Rude servers and slow service. They also told us to keep it down cause we were bothering people having dinner at 9:00 at night. Sorry people, its a bar and people get loud. Go have your dinner at a real restaraunt if you want a quiet dinner. Dont come to the bar and complain about people having fun. Thats all i have to say about that.

Wish I could give zero stars! Prices have gone up with portion size way down and food is mediocre. They also nickel and dime you to death with any extras. They Recently renovated and put a lot of new TVs in so I wonder if that's the reason why. Also, We came in with 2 other families; The one family with two little twins was the third to order, but they had to wait until we were almost done with our meals before theirs came out. I shared my food with the twins trying to tie them over but it was really difficult for the parents with the babies having to wait so long. To make matters worse, they had ordered an appetizer that didn't even come out until AFTER their food did. When the waitress was questioned she just said, "yeah, sorry we had another party" On our last visit there I wanted to take my 6 year olds ice water out the door with us to the park. I was informed that he was not allowed to. I Spoke to the owner because that just sounded ridiculous to me and thought there surely was some mistake. He came out and told me because if they have a liquor license they are not allowed to let the water cup go out the door. I said that was really strange and very respectfully asked for the number of the liquor license department so that I could get further information. He then got really nasty with me and told me he doesn't care what they tell me its his restaurant if I don't like it I don't need to come back. I told him that I really think there might be a misunderstanding or something because I really don't think anyone would have a problem with a 6 year old taking a cup of water out of the restaurant and I would really just like to have the number to find out what the deal is. he refused to give me the number and told me I could go across the street and buy a water from 7-Eleven. I have never seen such terrible customer treatment from an owner in my life. I know we will not spend one cent in there ever again. Not just because of his rude treatment but because of the lack of overall value. There's a lot of other better restaurants that practice Aloha.

The food, prices, and service were all very good, but portions were slightly smaller than we expected. My entire family was a bit hungry when we finished. However, we were treated to music from a local artist and this is a great place to stop before you head to the airport. Not disappointed at all and I do recommend this place!

The servers are really sweet. The ambiance is very laid back. The food is...alright. I do love the spinach artichoke dip & chips and the bbq chicken wings. However, the Kalbi plate lunch- most of it was purely fat. I also ordered an oriental chicken salad. It was so overdressed and seemed like it was marinated then "tossed" as the sever suggested. I told my server it was inedible. She just took it away, brought a couple boxes and our check. No word in response. Just a bit insulting. It's a hit or miss with this place. It was my second, the service was extremely slow. Tried it for a second time, service was better but the food is just inconsistent. Eh, wouldn't really recommend.

Great sports bar to have a drink with your friends. It's a pretty big bar. They have a lot of tvs so you won't miss anything while watching the game. They also have a big screen right infront of the stage. Live music too. A sushi bar on the corner located by the stage and big screen. I'm pretty sure I'll be back at the establishment when I visit maui again.

My daughter was visiting for the holidays and we went to the Ale House. We had lunch and a beer, and had very good service in a nice environment. The Mahi Mahi burger was exceptional and my Nachos were as well. Nothing but nice things to say about this place and plan to be there for the Rose Bowl 2014. Mahalo Dave in Pukalani

Time for an update since its been over 2 years. FOOD: Pastrami Reuben - Pastrami, swiss cheese, nixed the sauerkraut, all on top of toasted rye with a Thousand Island spread. H O L Y yum!? Warm (pastrami), crunchy & soft (rye) and delicious! Comes with fries and sliced dill pickles. Found me another fave sandwich!! If In-N-Out made a pastrami sandwich, this would be it! Buffalo Wings - 10 big pieces in a medium-spiced buffalo sauce. For some reason the smell was an over-powering Tabasco nose clearer, but it wasn't so hot as to eliminate the flavor of the chicken. Loved it! A bit pricey at $14 though. Lettuce Wraps - Hmm, unfortunately the filling looks similar to canned dog food, but the taste was alright. Not as pretty as PF Changs or CPK's version. Pizzas - They must've changed up their recipe, because their pizzas nowadays are the bomb! The flavors are delicious and the crust is thin and chewy. What a turnaround! Disco Fries - Like how In N Out has a secret menu, so does the Ale House. It's a plate with gravy on the bottom, topped with the fries, melted cheese, then more gravy on the side for dipping. The perfect app for beer! Teriyaki Chicken - 2 huge pieces of boneless skinless thighs that were very tender and flavorful with a mountain of rice to the side. The mac salad is lifeless and needs better and more mayo. Saimin - I had high hopes for this $12 dish as I saw quite a few locals ordering it. Unfortunately the clear broth lacks any sort of flavor which killed it. The noodles were good, as were the toppings of fresh mushrooms, char siu, sliced eggs, kamaboko, sliced ham, and shredded cabbage. Pass. Onion Rings - They're battered, not breaded, which makes a world of difference. A little oily but super tasty. I opted for ranch dressing dip instead. Excellent app! Loco Moco - 5.28.15 - The single but large homemade patty was a bit tough maybe due to being lean. The gravy is savory, very thin, and more like a pot roast gravy, but the fresh mushrooms and sautéed onions added body to it. At the bottom is a mound of rice which was cooked perfect. The dish is topped with 3 eggs cooked to preference. Pricey at almost $13 but then again so are the salads, and which one is going to fill you up more? Teriyaki Chicken Wings - 7.31.15 - Very overpriced at almost $16 for 12 wings. Anyway, they were fried perfect but the teriyaki sauce was very weak and mild. The dipping sauces, bleu cheese or ranch, both don't mix well with teriyaki the teriyaki flavor.

This place was surprisingly good! Great Happy hour prices & pupu's. Had the turkey Reuben, served quickly & very hot! The shoestring french fries were also very hot! I ordered extra this & special that with another 2 sides of sauce & our server remembered everything & was wiki wiki fast. If you have an hour or two to kill before going to the airport, this is the place! The local Hawaiian musical talent was a nice touch too.

Great atmosphere, bartender "Lon" is so attentive, and mixes like a master. He also was very good at explaining the menu with us and was very patient and friendly. I ordered the T Bone steak and it was amazing! My fiancé ordered the ceazar salad with chicken and she loved it. She also helped me finish my mashed potatoes because they were a large portion and so delicious. I definitely plan to come back!

Nice place. Local folks seem to enjoy it so that's a good sign. Little sushi bar in there too. Really bad old beer/vinigar smell at the far end of the bar so I had to move...someone should check that out. Good beer selection.

What an amazing place. They have the bar and they also have a sushi bar. Don't sit at the sushi bar unless you are ordering sushi. You will be told (not asked) to move elsewhere. The sushi is amazing (over proceed? What isn't in Maui?) The sushi chef was very friendly and offered his opinions about what was freshest and what was preferred (not necessarily the most expensive items). Definitely worth the time to stop and eat/drink before flights or mid stay on the island. The sender's were very attentive and spot on when it came to needing that next drink.

Decent food and a friendly staff. The number one reason to come here is to watch the games. They have more TVs than any other place in town. The food is nothing special at all though. There's the usual sports bar food like nachos and chicken wings. The ambience is similar to something you'd find at a Chili's. Don't come here for the food, but just to watch the games. The drink prices are reasonable though.

Great sports bar to have a drink with your friends. It's a pretty big bar. They have a lot of tvs so you won't miss anything while watching the game. They also have a big screen right infront of the stage. Live music too. A sushi bar on the corner located by the stage and big screen. I'm pretty sure I'll be back at the establishment when I visit maui again.

the customer service was awesome. the beer and drinks were good. food was ok. nothing exciting. the waiter was great and very attentive to use. there was other clients. only part we/i hated is that there was a younger toddler having a fit in the bar area (we sat at the bar) all we wanted to do is relax and not having a baby yell and scream. not a normal scream, but a screech as if they were getting hurt like crazy-ths was for atleast 15-20 minutes before we finally were able to leave. kids/babies should not be in the bar or near it.

Excellent food, great prices! The waitstaff is awesome and super friendly, and the owner is very personable and walks around checking on customers. One of the best places to eat in Kahului.

I was on the island for some business over the weekend and was fortunate enough to come across this place. Caught the game here on Sunday. What a great place. TVs everywhere, nice game menu and great service. The locals can be a bit rowdy and mouthy but easily ignored. Would reccomend.

Not a bad place to go and grab some lunch. Had the Teriyaki Burger, it was actually pretty good. Go there for drinks and pupus all the time, the parmy fries shoe string style and the artichoke dip are must tries.

  • Mary K D.

Food was ok. Drinks and service was soooooo slow. I've been twice, they have a lot of tv's to watch sports but the management needs to have more people on the floor to improve service....especially if there is a game on!

Out...
