This is a nice Krispy Kreme, and it's the only one in Hawaii (go Maui! Yay more carbs!). They have standard donuts people love, but, after being on the mainland for so long, they also have some different donuts they don't have at the mainland Krispy Kremes, like a maple bar! What I would've done for a maple bar when I was exiled to the Midwest for 8 years... I've also seen things like pineapple fritters. The service is good and friendly. Just ask for your free donut when you're there with the hot light on if they don't offer it to you. The donuts I bought were greatly appreciated at work.

We love that it's located near the airport. I knocked off a star because we had to ask for our free donut even though the Hot sign was on. And we were told that they normally only give a half for the hot sign. Krispy Kreme on Maui! How great is that.

This is currently the only Krispy Kreme in Hawaii. It's a great, easy place to stop on the way to the airport to pick up omiyage for friends and family on the neighbor islands. They have a drive thru which makes it even easier to make that quick stop. If you stop in when their hot donuts sign is on, you can get a free donut fresh off the conveyer belt. They have a wide variety of donuts and have seasonal flavors also. I usually just get the original glazed which is available for $16.00 for 2 dozen.

Here's a riddle for the locals... Q: How can you tell if someone just flew in from Maui? A: They're carrying a box of a dozen or more donuts from Krispy Kreme. Maui is the only island that has a Krispy Kreme and fortunately, it's near the airport so that's typically everyone's last stop in Kahului before heading to the airport and I'm no exception. They have a fairly large location and nice displays and a good variety of donuts that are fairly priced. Their coffee is pretty good but their iced coffee drinks taste like mostly sugar. Customer service was OK and they have a drive thru. The next time I'm in Maui, Krispy Kreme will be my last stop before going to the airport again.

When we got on the shuttle bus, after dropping off the rental car, the driver said "Hawaiian?". I laughed, and said he must know we're local because of the huge Krispy Kreme bag we were hand carrying back. He laughed and said "Yeah, it's as good as a boarding pass" (that you are going to another island). $15.65 gets you 2 dozen Original Glazed Donuts. Keep them in the fridge (if they last that long) and reheat them in the microwave for 8-10 seconds just before you're ready to eat. It not as good as a donut right off the conveyor belt, but it's the best us Oahu folk can do. They of course have a variety of toppings/fillings, but for me, a hot Original Glazed is the best!

I remember when we were at the airport heading to Maui and my husband saw people with bags and bags of Krispy Kreme donuts he looked at me curious and I replied "they live here, and they're being good family members and friends." I didn't explain any further since I knew if I told him more before our journey to Maui began he would mock me for the next few days. As we got off the plane in Maui, there too were people with bags and bags of Krispy Kreme. Dutiful friends and family delivering (not so hot) and fresh donuts to their loved ones on other islands not blessed enough to have a mecca of donut goodness with its beacon of hope stating "Hot Now" into the night sky. The night we left Maui and headed back to Honolulu I looked at my husband and said..."but first....a donut?" he looked at me disgusted, but he obliged. Did I show up at the airport with dozens for friends and family? No. But I got a hot and fresh in my belly after two long years of going without the sweet taste of Krispy Kreme. Till we meet again Krispy Kreme....I'll blame you for the fact that my thighs rub....

Vacation in Maui. Everyone always bring back doughnuts here. Of course I can't be left out for that. I went the night before my early morning flight to order 2 dozen doughnuts to bring home. Fancy flavor I see. It's interesting. I'm not a doughnut fan but it looks pretty colorful and good. I actually tried each one. Fork each one. It's pretty sweet. Too sweet for me. For some reason, it was 50% off for a dozen that night. Maybe because they're closing. But it was hell of an awesome deal! Woot woot! I bought 24 doughnuts for $12~. Located very close to the airport. Smart! Haha. Of course they have other stuff besides doughnuts there. Nice seating area.

I'm on Maui often enough and one of the places I always stop at is Krispy Kreme. Why? Well, for one thing, they aren't on Oahu (thank goodness) and the other is who doesn't love a fresh hot donut (doughnut?)? Gosh I remember when there wasn't a Krispy Kreme in Hawaii and my mom would bring back donuts from Vegas! Isn't that crazy? Glad there is one closer to home, albeit on another island, but that's better than one that flew for 5.5 hours! But why do I say thank goodness that they aren't on Oahu? I don't think my blood and body would appreciate me eating so many donuts. Yes, I have a sweet tooth and it's for donuts. Yum! I just wish that donuts were healthier so I could eat as much as I wanted to. So being on Maui is good to keep me in a healthy check. I always get an original to eat there and a box to bring home. I don't go for the filled ones too often. Mainly the fritters, sprinkled, and my favorite, old fashioned. Geez, I think I want one now. Must be time to fly over!!

Krispy Kreme was started in my hometown of Winston Salem, NC so it makes me proud to see them here in Hawaii.

Krispy Kreme located in kahului. On your way to the airport do is convenient to do a drive they before heading home. This is the only one in the state of Hawaii. I usually just cone here for a soda since it's pretty cheap and the line is never long. They say when the light is on the doughnuts are hot and fresh. The menu seems very large many different types of doughnuts to choose from. Staff are usually friendly. So if your in the mood for doughnuts and don't want to get out of your car Drive thru. I always see people with boxes and boxes of doughnuts of this. To me it's just doughnuts. I've had better ones on the island.

I always gotta bring back a box of these babies for my peeps on Oahu! Located right by airport, so easy to do. Drive through available.

This place is my favorite place to stop when coming and leaving Maui. It's always warm doughnuts and a cold glass of milk. What's left to say about warm doughnuts except you should stop too.

I live in a land of Krispy Kreme carcasses. To see a functional one in Maui made my heart leap with joy. Though I was full, there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to enjoy a fresh glazed and Boston Cream doughnut. Let's face it, though many grocery stores carry the original glazed, there is something lost along the way. There's nothing like eating a fresh KK and it wasn't just nostalgia that made me feel that way. My two favorites in house did not disappoint. They were light, fluffy and so good with plain milk!

Location, Location, Location!! That's right, it's next to the airport. Here's what I do: I pick-up a dozen on my way to the resort and (always forgetting to Yelp!) and have snacks for the remainder of the trip in my room. On the way home, I pick-up "Carry-on" doughnuts to freeze at home in the deep freezer for months of pleasure to come. Have you ever tried a frozen Krispy Kreme? It's like... SO ONO! Prices are reasonable, considering they remain the ONLY doughnut shop on the 50th state. Their coffee is a bit weak for me, I prefer bold and strong black coffee. Because their doughnuts are sweet... a bold coffee is in order. No excuse for that. As for their "Cake Doughnuts"... they're a 3-4 Star endeavor. My wife brings home from Japan all the Mr. Doughnuts she can fit in her bag: about 3 dozen. These are REAL doughnuts. Krispy Kreme is TOO SWEET... but make the absolute PERFECT LOCAL GIFT for family and really, really close friends. I would have given more stars though their drive-thru is slow, the selection of Plain (Cake Doughnuts) stinks, and the other option is glazed. Can anyone say "diabetes"? All in all.... They are good. Period. People like them because they are the only ones flown to Oahu daily on Hawaiian Airlines to be sold at charity fundraisers, though I've never bought from them. Something about a glazed doughnut sitting in the Hawaiian Sun for hours is unappealing. Hey, this is my review, my opinion, and I take ownership of it. You may very well feel differently about Krispy Kreme. That's your prerogative. 3-STARS. Mahalo nui loa ~Joey

I don't care for KK, but family/friends in Honolulu do, so I try to stop by on the way to the airport. I"ve knocked it down a star, bcs when we visited this morning, the counter person was very rude... not just to me, but to others ahead of me.

Krispy Kreme, you never disappoint. This was our first stop when we landed in Maui. We had planned for weeks to make sure we arrive in the early morning to make sure we grab fresh, warm, doughnuts. Prior to my last visit to Maui, I had not enjoyed a delicious Krispy Kreme doughnut in years. The doughnuts tasted just as I remembered. They were light, fluffy, warm and so sweet. I also love that you can see the doughnut conveyor belt where you can see your precious doughnuts, bake and get a sugar bath before they dry and are ready to serve. We contemplated buying a box to bring back to Oahu, but decided that would not be the best idea because we would eat half of the dozen before we even boarded the plane. If you decide to purchase a dozen, do not fear, there are tons of other people at the airport who had the same brilliant idea and are often toting between 1 and 4 boxes of doughnuts. I must also say that there is a feeling of nostalgia when I visit Krispy Kreme. It reminds me of my teenage years in Florida, where I always had access to delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I took it for granted, but I won't make that mistake again. My husband and I visited Krispy Kreme when we arrived in Maui and one more time before we left Maui. This is a good game plan and I suggest everyone follow suit!

As much as I don't care for donuts I must say, Krispy Kreme has one of the best. I remember how it was a big deal when it opened in Hawaii and when I visited Maui, the light consistency and some light sweetness was worth every bite. I visited this popular joint again this morning and to my surprise, it was as light, fluffy and perfect as I remembered. There's something about biting into airy goodness that makes all worries disappear. I love their classics- their original and the old fashioned donut. Our fam enjoyed the Choco with sprinkles and pudding filled donuts. Surprisingly, with all the tourist that visit this place, it was very clean with good customer service. The best thing about their location, which is right as you enter or exit the airport area, is that you can ask for them to box up the donuts in either a 6 or 12 pack. They place it in a nice sturdy brown bag that you can carry on the plane. Thanks Krispy Kreme- we will back!

Haiku: This Krispy Kreme shop Was nothing short of average. It's by the airport So stopping's easy. But when I went, the donuts Weren't super fresh. They were cold and had Been sitting out for hours. This place is clean, though.

I'm not one to crave donuts (unless it's from Voodoo Doughnut but unfortunately it's thousands of miles away), but we've decided to stop by here before flying back home to grab a couple dozen for the family. I must say though that they were pretty tasty as they've always been. The one thing that separates these donuts from other donuts is that the ENTIRE donut is glazed, top AND bottom. So, you get more of that yummy glaze with every bite. They do have pretty good deals. We only spent around $20 for a couple of dozen and even got a variety of donuts. I prefer the original glazed donuts, the other donuts were just too sweet for me. Though they are tasty, they don't leave me wanting more.

If you're originally from Hawaii, you know that Maui has the ONLY Krispy Kreme in the ENTIRE state, so when I went to Maui for a business trip, I definitely had to stop off and pick up a dozen. Usually you'll get Krispy Kremes for a fundraiser. Which is fine, but have you ever had a Krispy Kreme right off the line!?!!? It's probably one the of most amazing things EVER!! You get to see how they are made on this huge conveyor belt thing. Their selections range from long johns to creme and jelly filled, to the standard doughnut we all know and love. It's on the way to the airport so don't forget to pick some up before heading off the island. You'll be sure to make a few people jealous.

What's not to love? Sweet, sugary goodness. You can't beat their original doughnut, perfectly glazed and oh so soft. Conveniently located near the airport so you can grab some when arriving and departing Maui. And what's easier than a convenient drive thru. I wish they'd build one on Oahu.

Imagine going to Maui for the day and you want to bring back Krispy Kreme delicious donuts. U pre order 2-doz CAKE donuts to give away, you get back to Oahu, open your boxes and you have10/cake donuts and 14/yeast cream filled donuts. Now what? Spoke with a very nice mgr who offered to fly over 2/doz donuts, but now I would need to go to the airport to get them...umm nice but not that good. I then asked how's about if I pay for half and you credit me for the other half? Final decision she will credit me the full amount. Wow now that's customer service. I highly recommend Krispy Kreme thanks to the quick thinking mgr Lydia. Mahalo

Got it hot and it was so good. Drive through was super convenient. Only problem is trying to eat these in moderation.

  • Ashly M.

Drive thru 1 star because I can't judge the service, it was a drive thru and regular not outstanding, the building was particularly nice from the outside and its at a great location for those that want to pick up a box when heading back to interisland. The reason for me only giving one star is I feel unfair. I don't like krispy Kreme, its just way toT sugary for me. Tastes like I'm literally dumping the bag of sugar in my mouth. NOT a fan!

  • Michael P.

Perfect sugar trap on the island of Maui. This location is literally just off the Maui Airport grounds and always has fresh donuts. My wife and I hit this location as our first stop on the island. Inexpensive, priced very close to the mainland locations... Only gripe that I have is the parking lot is a bit small...but that is a minor detail. Worth the stop on your way to your home, condo, or hotel room.

    (4)
  • Jay G.

Stick with the original glazed donuts. Good coffee too! If you can get there when the red light is on, the donuts come out hot and basically melt in your mouth. The other donuts are ok, but I would stick with the original glazed.

  • RC S.

We try to visit Maui once a year, and along with Spago and Roy's, Krispy Kreme is one establishment we never miss! We've sampled the other choices, but nothing beats the hot glazed donuts that are baked right in front of your eyes. They have a great location, just as you exit the airport on your way to wherever you may be staying. If the "hot donuts" sign is illuminated, you really must stop in!

    (4)
  • Matthew N.

As I travel to Kahului frequently, I usually make it a point to stop in on my way to the airport and have just one original glazed donut. Yes, just one. I have to laugh when I see the drive-through because, honestly, if you're too lazy to get out of your car for donuts then you're probably just courting more disaster by eating donuts in the first place. The service is always very friendly and the place is typically empty, so sitting to enjoy a fresh donut after it's come off the line is never a problem. They used to have free wi-fi here but, for some unexplained reason, it's no longer available.

You know, growing up in da 808 is truly the melting pot...........so many different types of ethnicity that bring their customs, & great foods to da islands. I've had numerous types of pastries & donuts from the local island bakeries......... but da 808 also has it's unique goodies too! For instance, we have - malasadas, coco puffs, poi donuts, lilikoi chiffon cake, cream puffs, monju, sweet bread, mochi, and I can go on & on........... I've never heard of Krispy Kreme Donuts, until one of my childhood friends who just so happen to have transplanted himself on the mainland, had raved about this donut treat. The very first time I ate a Krispy Kreme was when I was in Las Vegas. My friend & I saw a big sign at a hotel while we were driving, and decided to stop by & try it. Needless to say, I wasn't too impressed with it, as it was probably sitting on the bakery shelf too long, and actually tasted terrible. Many years later, when Hawaii finally gets their very 1st Krispy Kreme Donut shop, my friend brought some back for me. This time when I ate it........is was FABULOUS!!!!! I'm thinking when Krispy Kreme's finally opened a shop in Hawaii, they open it on the island on Maui. I'm thinking, what about Oahu???? Most of the island's population is on Oahu, why did they open up a store on Maui? Go figure? Well, to get this special treat............you gotta jump on a plane & fly to Maui get it. For me, if I just so happen to be on Maui, I will surely stop by to pick up a few for myself, as well as my co-workers................ that way I will be their "office hero" for the day! Lol! My Wednesday trip to Maui, I made the quick run & picked up few. I would say my all time favorite Krispy Kreme is this glazed donut that is injected with creme.........just like a twinkie...........Ummmmmm, nom, nom, nom, nom!!!! A deep fried, sugar overloaded, heart attack waiting to happen!!!! That's why when you indulge, it's all about moderation. :) Oh, and I finally found out why people rave about the plain glazed Krispy Kreme Donut............if you ever tried one of the Krispy Kreme glazed donut just off of the conveyor............it is so HEAVENLY!!! It is still warm and soft, very light tasting, and it just melts in your mouth I tell you! If you see the neon sign lit up at the shop..............if you just so happen to walk into the shop, they will give you (1) free glazed donut! YES! I said it - FREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! :)

I'm going to be brutal and give it a 2* verbally but 3 stars because of its ability to be consistent. My gripe? Clean the Damn store front. Jacket in the parking lot just outside of the door. The glass top to bottom is dirty where you watch the donuts flip and get frosted. If your business would like to show off any part of its self make it AND keep it presentable. Looking at dirty glass gave me a moment of pause if I really wanted to eat in a place that can't keep some glass clean. The booths were sugar coated but not sticky.

  • Tara M.

Hot and Ready Now is the best sign to see when exiting the airport. It is a typical KK donut place, but they have specific Maui t-shirts for souvenirs. You can watch the donuts being baked and iced through large glass windows. Donuts are delicious as always. Clean and large eating area; clean toilets; free parking. They give kam discounts.

There is something magical when you see a box emblazoned with the words "Krispy Kreme." Now, I am not implying that it is the greatest doughnut ever made, nor am I implying that they are mind blowing amazing that they are worth a 20 minute airplane ride. What I am saying is you want what you can't have, and when you don't live on Maui, you want Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Needless to say, it was the first stop after picking up the rental car that we made. Largely because we were hungry and we saw the sign right past the airport entrance/exit. It's convenient location signals hello to you and stands like a mirage in the desert. It also is prepared to say farewell when you leave. Its doughnut menu isn't very inventive but it covers the staples of flavors from a simple glazed to an apple fritter, from a chocolate coated treat to the impressive jelly filled. Like I said it isn't the greatest doughnut I ever had, but I will say that it is consistent. Its light airy filled dough is puffed up and coated with glaze or the flavors you desire and make you eat one right after another. Each bite will be like the one before...well it will get less flavorful because of the law of diminishing marginal utility but that is a whole other class.

This Krispy Kreme makes great donuts and their quality is excellent. I thought it might not be as good as the ones in the states but I wrong as these donuts were excellent Normally don't eat donuts but hey, I'm on vacation so I'm having donuts!

  • Chad R.

What can you say about Krispy Kreme's!!! They are awesome fresh and eaten right away. I went there as a flashback to the mainland and it was exactly what I expected and remembered. Nice people with good food and a clean restaurant. My only challenge with Krispy Kremes is that they are not good the next day. Bummer they don't hold better. O well. Still love them. They also have a drive through which is nice.

  • Christina A.

Love love love! The doughnuts are so moist and taste perfect. I think my favorite thing about Krispy Kreme would be the ability to see the conveyor belt of original glazed doughnuts. My only note would be to get better staff, or at least get some happy faces on them! Other than that, job well done!

    (4)
  • Emily H.

I love donuts and Krispy Kreme is one of my favorites because it's the perfect size except I eat two, so good and so consistent. Coincidentally stumbled upon the only KK location in this state on our way to the airport. This was the best dessert I had in Maui (I'm looking at you Leora's $5 cookie sized pie).

  • Lily B.

Ohhhh how could I not stop at yelp.com/user_local_phot… before flying back to Oahu?! Unfortunately there were no 'fresh' donuts off the conveyor belt when we arrived, but it's okay, everything was delicious! yelp.com/user_local_phot… Donuts galore! yelp.com/user_local_phot… I ended up bringing back 2 dozen glazed donuts ($13!!) and a half dozen of an assortment. I have no idea what the name is, but if you can get the chocolate cake looking donut with the white drizzle on top (you can kinda see it in my pic)... it's *AMAZING*. It's about a dollar more than the other donuts but lemme tell you... it's SO WORTH IT!!! Soft, sweet, delicious goodness... I HEART KRISPY KREME!!! (PLEASE come and open up on Oahu??) :)

ASK FOR KAMAAINA DISCOUNT! something that i didnt know when i went BUT now i know. doesnt help me much but i figure i can help fellow donut eaters. cant beat a fresh krispy kreme donut. we live on oahu and a limited variety of donuts are exported. by the time they get to oahu its old and cold. some people sell the krispy kreme fundraising donuts on the side of the road. by the time u eat those the poor donuts are old, cold, mushy, with a hint of having a second bake in the hawaiian sun. i swore to never eat one of those but sometimes when my cravings get the best of me...its so hard to resist! its best to get them directly from the source. where u can actually see them make it. watch out for the 'fresh baked' sign. i sure am whenever im in maui.

The only Krispy Kreme in the state of Hawaii is on Maui! Yes, Oahu peeps are blazing mad. Oh well. Who knows why they made that decision but I'm glad to see they're still open after all these years. The F&B biz is tough on this rock. I loved their original glazed donuts. Unbelievably soft when they're hot. It not, zap it in the micro. I've yet to venture and try the other flavors that look scary to me.

Donuts. Those magical cakes that taste so good but can be so bad for you. Dunkin Donuts, Leonard's Malasadas, and Krispy Kreme...to me this is confectionary trifecta. Nay! The holy trinity of fried doughy goodness. Of those three Krispy Kreme definitely ranks 3rd. While a hot, fresh, gooey glazed Krispy Kreme is muy muy delicioso there are few greater pleasures in the world than biting into a warm, fresh malasada rolled in cinnamon and sugar and filled with custard. Oh wait, I'm supposed to be doing a review of Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme Donuts = good! Krispy Kreme Coffee = BAD!!! Do not get! Avoid at all costs! Seriously, unless you have done something extraordinarily naughty and need to punish yourself find another place, ANY place, to get some coffee. It's the only Krispy Kreme on Maui...so how can you not go right?

How can you go wrong selling freshly baked doughnuts one block from the airport. The restaurant was very clean, the restroom was very tidy and the food was delicious. The staff seem pretty apathetic and uncaring but not rude. Should be the most fun place on earth wish they would play it up that way!!!

    (4)
  • Andrea F.

The donuts were fresh and delicious. It's such a great location as you pretty much have to pass it from the airport. I'm just glad we don't live closer to one of these or I'd want to indulge all the time. ;)

Oh Krispy Kreme.... How I long for thee. How I love thee. We had a getaway trip planned to Maui and my husband asked me if there was anything specific I wanted to do in Maui. First thing I blurt out of my mouth "Go to Krispy Kreme! A lot!" He laughs like I'm kidding. I'm not kidding. Upon landing in Maui, our first stop after leaving the Kahului airport was..... Yep, you guessed it - Krispy Kreme! The blueberry cake doughnuts are pretty much my life source. Seriously. They are so wonderfully delicious I could eat them all day. I may have ordered 3 at our first visit upon landing in Maui. Yes, 3 on top of the other doughnuts I ordered. For myself. We went upon our day. The next day my husband didn't even ask me what I wanted for breakfast. He just went through the drive through at Krispy Kreme. How cool is it by the way that Krispy Kreme has a drive through? Pretty dang awesome if you ask me. Kristy Kreme and I are in love. (Or rather, I know for certain I'm in love with Krispy Kreme. Sometimes, not so sure Krispy Kreme loves me as much). I'd like to say bring one to Oahu - but really, for the sake of my figure - you probably shouldn't.

This was our first stop after landing on Maui & picking up our car. The "hot light" was on so we pulled in and jumped out! They had special holiday doughnuts - snowmen & red & green sprinkles. My BF asked if we could sample a doughnut and I thought the guy would cut one into fours, but nope! We both got a whole classic glazed doughnut each. For free!! I never thought to ask for a sample before...so now I know! We got half a dozen doughnuts (2 each of their classic, chocolate, & red velvet) & one coffee cake. That was our breakfast for the week we stayed on Maui...yum! My favorite was the coffee cake - moist and tasty - I wish I bought a dozen of them!!

  • Regina N.

I'm originally from Oahu, so this is what I always told my bf to bring every time he came home to Maui. Now that we live on Maui, I'm the one bringing it for my family on Oahu! Looove their donuts, especially when it's freshly made! Best deal is 50% off when it's almost closing time!

YUM YUM YUM. I love the assembly line... and their basic standard glazed donuts. And coffee. :)

I love Krispy Kreme even though they are so bad for you. So, we're heading back to Oahu, so we decided to stop by. I got chocolate donut holes, which were ok. And then I also noticed that Crayola has a drink...so I tried that. It tasted like Starbusts. Bought a box of mixed donut holes and back to Oahu~

When I was growing up in Southern California, I remember hearing about Krispy Kreme and its future opening in my neighborhood. I honestly did not know what the hype was. After the store opened, I saw the lust that many people had toward these donuts. As a high school football player and waking up for early morning practices, I recall seeing the drive-in lines stretching around the store for people to get a dozen donuts. I loved these donuts. But then, that store closed and so did many other krispy kreme donut stores. Fast forward to thanksgiving weekend: my fiancee and I picked up our rental car and started heading to our hotel and we passed by the Krispy Kreme. The smell brought back so many memories. For the next 3 days, I had approximately a dozen donuts. Ya, that it is not much; but, it is for a guy, who does not eat much junk food. To describe my experience of walking into this store, it was breath-taking to see the donuts rotating up and down and dipping into the glaze dressing sauce. Also, the store's interior reminded me of the 50s. Finally, the display of donuts was vivid with colors and many types of donuts. My mouth is watering right now for a fresh original donut. I did have a variety of different donuts from red velvet, chocolate glazed, christmas sprinkled, and this chocolate pie type thing. SO GOOD!

Naturally, My first drive into Maui took me from the airport, to the "Welcome To Maui" sign, and subsequently, to the Krispy Kreme that lay just beyond its wall. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zXxW… ) Im not a big believer in fate, but when i got to the Krispy Kreme and the infamous red light was on, i thought it must have been meant to be. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zXxW… ) For those of you who are unfamiliar with the red light, I imagine its what Sting was singing about in "Roxanne", which only could have been the anthropomorphisation of his first ever, hot, fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut. And boy was Roxanne a sexy bitch. I walked in to the life altering scent of frying dough and sugary glaze waterfalls. A river of glory taking golden fluffy innertubes of deliciousness through the viscous, glistening waterfall of sucrose. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zXxW… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zXxW… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zXxW… ) After viewing the process in which the halos of angels are made, It was time to enjoy the spoils. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zXxW… ) Now, I'd love to sit here and tell you that i absolutely DID NOT return to Krispy Kreme every morning of my Maui trip, but because i love and respect my fellow yeeps... i plead the fifth.

I'm on the way back to Oahu and bringing back some donuts to keep happy smiles on my co workers faces is a must. It's 9 PM. and we're rushing to our flight, but this pit stop was necessary. I stood there staring at all the variety and all the meanwhile, the lady on the other side of the counter is ready for my order. I'm thinking to myself, hold on lady, there's so much to choose from. There's the plain, the chocolate, the coconut, then there's the fills, the twist, sprinkles, and my all time favorite the cake. This is impossible! My husband starts getting antsy and I'm just taking my sweet ol' time. Mind you, we still have to return the rental car. 2 dozens later, the variety was packed in two big boxes and a huge brown bag to match. I guess if you go there after 9p.m. they apply an automatic discount. I think I must have gotten at least 40% off the entire purchase. The lady was really nice and didn't take donuts from the window displays. As I pointed out my donuts, she would rush back to the nearby kitchen with racks and racks of fresh, hot donuts and fill up my donut box. In my opinion, it's no malasada, but hey that's what my co workers want and that's what they'll get.

The location is great because I can pick up a box of these and head over to the airport to catch my flight back to Honolulu. I loved Krispy Kreme when I was living in San Francisco. I would always try to talk my cousin into driving me there for the fresh doughnuts on the weekends. I was super excited when the "hot light" was blinking because that means fresh doughnuts. I was a bit disappointed at this location though. They give you half a doughnut to sample. What ever happened to giving the whole thing? There were 4-5 new items and when I asked the staff which one was better, she told me she never tried any of them. You work here, aren't you suppose to know the product so you can provide information to your customers about it? The one thing she recommended was the original glazed. Yes, I know that one is good already. Anyways, I just picked 2 of the new items and the rest were original glazed and chocolate glazed. I also picked up some doughnut holes too. Those are extra delicious!

Yes it is the place to go to get that sugar high rush. We stop there before heading to HNL thank goodness we have something here that they don't I love it!

meh... my first visit i thought the donuts were amazing... however, my second visit we did not get them absolutely fresh, and they were so-so. i've realized most people eat krispy kreme very fresh, so it taste amazing, but when they are a few hours old, they are pretty average. however, the coffee is usually pretty good!

I am honestly embarrassed to give a place that exclusively sells doughnuts AND has a drive-thru five stars but these are some magnificent doughy delights. Leaving the grubbiness of the airport only to see the adorable retro sign that proclaims Krispy Kreme was truly an "OMG" moment since I've only heard of their reputation of having some of the best doughnuts around. Any fan of retro American design will be goo over the place since it's like walking into a Krispy Kreme of the 1950s. It's also very pristinely clean. It was practically glistening which was truly impressive for the type of person who likes to look at a restaurants floors to gauge their standard of cleanliness. The real star is the doughnut making contraptions. It's magically hypnotical to watch the creation of a vast amounts of delicious doughnuts in the matter of a minute. The actual doughnuts are perfection. I'm not a fan of most of the doughnuts served on Oahu since they are always too dense. These are so light and fluffy that it's an instant mindgasm just thinking about it. The doughnut without any frosting or filling reminds me of what I would eat in Europe more than what you find in America. It turns out that the Krispy Kreme recipe is of French origin. The various frostings and fillings are definitely very American. Certain ones are more sophisticated in taste while some are the standard American sugariness you'd expect. The cake doughnuts are sinfully decadent. A must try. The older ladies who work there are very sweet, friendly and patient. They do a more than adequate job but how can you really screw up something that makes and sells itself. The drive-thru is pure genius especially for anyone who needs to get their Krispy Kreme fix before they bound for the airport. I honestly think half of the passengers on my plane had a box of them.

Can't really compete with a fresh hot glazed donut. So good when its soft and fresh cooked. - 1 star cause there isnt a location on Oahu haha.

Somebody PLEASE explain to me how Maui has a KK and Oahu does not. It is just baffling. Anyway. We went to KK on the way to the airport, and the hot sign was illuminated. They are pretty stingy though and were only going to give me and my four friends a part of a donut that had been sitting there for what looked like hours. boo. My friend asked for a donut and they finally gave us each our own. It probably had to do with the fact that I bought two dozen. The special was: one dozen for about $10 (which is kind of expensive) OR two dozen for about $14. I'm such a sucker and bought two dozen.

Krispy Kreme is a MUST when visiting Maui, especially when I'm from Oahu. I got there relatively early, 9:00-9:30, on a Saturday morning and there were so many doughnuts to choose from! I loved the many varieties they had, powdered sugar, glazed, jelly-filled, custard-filled, etc. I also loved that the place felt clean, the floors were nicely mopped/swept. I love Krispy Kreme and will always come back.

Digging the 50% off deal after 9pm. certain restrictions but got a dozen asst for 1/2 off. Score with more! #gooddeal not sure if this is a special or if they have it all the time. #sugarrush

Great to finally get a fresh Krispy Kreme after living on Oahu for two years. This location is what I've come to expect from Krispy Kreme with two exceptions: no free hot and fresh glazed off the belt. Also the service wasn't all that friendly. We were The only people on the place and they didn't even smile :(

Hit up the Krispy Kreme's drive thru after flying into Kahului with my BF. Well heck we don't have this on Oahu so we had to have a heart attack with a hole right? Unfortunately for us the neon fresh hot Krispy Kreme sign was not lit up and my BF was dismayed when the lady told him that they didn't make chocolate flings anymore. So sad, too bad! Determined to gain five pounds each in three bites we got two original Krispy Kremes and a large milk for a little under five bucks. The Krispy Kremes were okay but you really can't go wrong when something is deep fried and covered in sugar right? My kiddies probably would have been able to devour a dozen in ten minutes flat. Nothing to write home about but on the way back to the airport we're going to give it another go and wait until they've got some nice hot heart attacks with holes fresh from the fryer!

My club for school has been dedicated to Krispy Kreme for our fundraisers. Thanks to them, we were able to subsidize a good chunk of our cost to Maui. We were absolutely sick of their original glaze donuts since we sold them so often and all of us at least had a box sitting at home for a week during our fundraiser period. To my coworkers and friends, I was known as the Krispy Kreme Lady for a while since I'm always trying to hustle everyone to buy a box. I think Krispy Kreme is only good for their fresh original glaze because everything else falls short. I ordered the glazed chocolate cake and their featured special with banana custard and vanilla crunchy something on top. Both were ridiculously sweet. Too sweet for me to finish and I eat everything!!! I felt like I ate an entire day's worth of calories by those two partially eaten donuts.

Krispy Kreme is always our first stop whenever we do visit Maui. I'm usually super excited to come here because I once again get to eat fresh, perfectly glazed donuts, but this time around was quite a disappointment. I don't know if we just came on an off day or if their policies had changed, but they no longer gave out free samples of their glazed donuts. Boo... Of course, that didn't stop us from enjoying a mid-morning snack of donuts and milk. On our way back to Oahu, we had to stop by and buy some donuts for my donut-loving brother and still no free samples., despite the "Hot Now" sign glaring bright red... Oh well... on a positive note, who can say no to 2 dozen donuts for $11.99? Great deal!! Although a little disappointed this time around, I'm sure we'll still return.

If Oahu had a Krispy Kreme, I think the population's average blood pressure would raise by at least 10. Every time I come to Maui for work, all my coworkers always rush to Krispy Kreme to get their 2 dozen doughnut special because that's all their family and friends want. Say WHAAATTT? I'd rather get my omiyage from Sam Sato's or Maui Specialty Chocolates. Krispy Kreme though, IS right next to the airport. Oh so convenient if you arrive early in the morning and are looking for something small to eat for breakfast, or need a small snack before your long flight home. Parking is always plentiful, and if you don't want to get out of your car, they have a drive through too. To me, Krispy Kreme is just...a doughnut. A fast food doughnut in fact. I mean, wouldn't you rather eat a burger from Teddy's or Kua Aina, instead of McDonald's? That's kind of the way I feel about Krispy Kreme. The best thing about going into the Krispy Kreme itself is to watch that conveyor belt of doughnuts being made fresh, going into the oil, fried, out, and being glazed. It's kinda enticing for someone who has major ADD. Or at least I think so. However, those doughnuts are soft, and just the right amount of sweetness. They're also pretty damn cheap too. So every once in a while, when I walk in here with my coworkers, I succumb to what's contributing to my future heart attack. However, I'd rather enjoy my doughnut from a local bakery, so I know it's being done by hand, as well as supporting my local economy.

Donuts. Oh, the sweet smell of donuts freshly-baked. What more is there to say?? Every time we visit the beautiful island of Maui, I have to get me some Krispy Kreme donuts. Sure, there's always a fundraiser somewhere on Oahu... but there's nothing like a freshly-baked Krispy Kreme. Mmmm.... Not to mention the other options besides the plain glazed donut! The last time we went in November, I tried a chocolate glazed, custard-filled donut and it was pure heaven. The lemon was not bad either... Really, if it had been up to me, I'd have gotten a dozen just for myself. But self restraint won out. I got 3. And i enjoyed every single one!

This is the only KK in hawaii. It's usually on my list of places to hit when I'm in Maui but the light has got to be on and the donuts have got to be rolling off that belt! Then it's worth every calorie! If not, don't bother..wait for the light!

Krispy Kreme in Maui - treats for the kiddies - and the biggies. I'm not in to reviewing fast food chains, but anyone going to Maui needs to know there is a Krispy Kreme on the island. It's on Dairy Road, not far from the airport. They do a big business, but remember Kahului is a long drive from where everyone stays in South Maui and West Maui. So the locals keep it busy, but it's not convenient for the tourists. Each year between Christmas and New Years I make a morning pilgrimage to Krispy Kreme to get a few dozen donuts for the staff at our complex. Because it's a 30 minute drive each way, it's a special treat. And the box I bring home manages to disappear too.

Just one day in Maui, what to do??? Our first stop straight from the airport early in the morning, we saw the lighted sign - "Hot Now" outside Krispie Kreme shop. I got really excited, ohhh my, fresh from the oven, we gotta stop. So, we did and as soon as we were inside, I could just smell that sweet aroma of fresh donuts on the conveyor belt (hahahah). As I came closer to the counter, I forgot all about the original glazed donuts. I was destructed by all the other donuts and muffins/cakes on display. I wanna buy 'em all, I wanna try all of 'em. Good thing that I was travelling with someone, otherwise, I would have spent my entire day trip to Maui eating in the Krispie Kreme restaurant. I was redirected to our purpose in Maui... Haleakala - Oh yeah, that place... We left with 1 original glazed donut fresh from the oven. I ate half and saved the other half for later. That was sooo good. I ate the other half after lunch and it wasn't as good anymore. I recommend to definitely try the donuts and eat 'em while they're still warm.

After traveling for close to 10-hour (DFW to LAX to OGG), one becomes tired, sleepy, and hungry. Upon seeing the Krispy Kreme, I made a quick U-Turn for fresh donuts and coffee. I believe this is the only REAL Krispy Kreme in Hawaii. The conveyor wasn't cranking out fresh donuts when I entered, but the donuts were tasty none the less. I still to the classic glazed. The coffee wasn't too bad either.

This is the only Krispy Kreme in the State of Hawaii, I've been to Mau'i many many times and we always make sure to bring at least 8 boxes of KK before heading back to O'ahu. I love their Donuts, especially when their original glazed donuts are hot and fresh! Krispy Kreme, if you are reading this - open one up in Honolulu. You won't regret it.

I've only had Krispy Kreme that's been flown in. So when I had the chance to visit one in person I was excited. Unfortunatly having to jump a plane in 5 minutes only left the drive through option for me. I didn't enjoy the full experience and the hot donut sign wasn't on. But man they taste way better fresher. They are really light donuts and maybe that might not be good for my health because I will eat a dozen by myself no problem!

My first stop after arriving on Maui from a morning flight. Can't miss it from the leaving the airport. Two donuts (regular glaze) and a coffee for $2.99. A little expensive compared to Krispy Kreme on the mainland, but hey it's the only one in Hawaii so I'm eating there. It was 900 am and they had the fresh donuts sign lit so an extra bonus! Warm, freshly made donuts. Nice way to start the day off!

  • Tania G.

One of the nicer Krispy Kreme locations I've been too. Good service & yummy original glazed. For all the other products, I could take it or leave it. I'm always amazed when someone brings a box by our office and they don't have any original glazed (that's what KK is known for). I don't want to waste valuable calories on a so-so jelly doughut, bring on the original glazed with the twinkie like creme middle! I disagree with the poster that the location is not convenient for tourists. May be true during your stay but is located mere minutes away from the airport. Its on the very road you need to head down if you are on your way to catch your flight home or on your way to your hotel, how convenient is that? The local Maui residents really don't eat there all that much, visitors from other islands are buying boxes to carry home.

tastes so much better right off the belt. wish we had a shop back home rather than buying it from a fundraiser.

We rolled in later at night and it was very clear to us that the donuts we had been craving ended up being pretty old, like made that morning old. The first time we checked this place out a few days before it was the same way. "Meh" sums up this place perfectly.

Always a treat to stop at Krispy Kreme after a long flight to Maui. The donuts are delicious! I hope they are on Maui for a long time since you can't get them anywhere in N. Cal any longer.

Free WiFi! Yes, you just bring your own laptop. And if they are closed, you can sit outside on their tables & bench. Besides that, Krispy Kremes are pretty much the same. The ubiquitous green, white & red signage, viewing platform and lots of sugar & grease, but oh-so-good. They also have their own souvenir T shirts! And if you happen to be in Maui, are in need/want of a souvenir T shirt that proves you were here, love Krispy Kreme donuts (hey, not just any ol' donut 'kay?), then you gotta get one of these. At the time I was there, they had a 5 cent coffee deal. Technically, you could go in, get your coffee for five cents and then use the Internet for free all day. But that odor of freshly made donuts is overpowering. And stupid me, I left my purse there and they had already closed. Luckily their drive through stays open two hours later than the shop. I drove back, ordered a donut and a handbag to go.

Krispy Kreme. How many Krispy Kremes have I had in my lifetime visiting Vegas? I don't know. Finally went to Krispy Kreme in Maui before heading home (without bringing home ten large dozen boxes of donuts on the plane). We had the original donuts fresh off the conveyor belt and coffee. I had the mocha latte and it was delish. These donuts are always a tasty treat but it always makes me feel like I'm eating a million calories each donut.

If the hot light is on, it's over! These things taste so good hot out of the fryer. Pair it with some milk and a dozen and disappear quickly. A word of advice, do not look under the Krispy Kreme box for the nutritional values.

Krispy Kreme, Krispy Kreme. Is this what Maui should be known for? I love their doughnuts and pastries but there's lots of other places on Maui where you can get better stuff. Would have been a 3 but they serve Coke so they get a 4.
