Nice restaurant, Good service and servers. Menu was not extensive but good.
In Hapeville...? Never expected to find such a gem. Delicious food & great service in a lovely atmosphere. Worth the visit. Second visit was even better! The staff remembered me and greeted me like family despite how overwhelmingly busy the place was. Food was just as good but because the place was packed I had to sit at the bar at the only seat available. This meant I got to meet some of the regulars. Their friendly conversation coupled with amazing food made my night. Honestly it made me want to move to Hapeville! Do yourself a favor & visit this place. Oh and save room for dessert - the pastry chef is fantastic.
I'm a visitor from South Florida - if this place was down where I lived, I know it would be a huge hit. Driving by to find a convenience store, I saw the staggered hanging light bulbs from the window; read "wine & bistro", then decided that's what I wanted for dinner. The restaurant itself isn't over-abundant in lighting. It's sexy, intimate, and super relaxing. The menu was very enticing, leading me to order several appetizers, an entrée, and a glass of red wine. Water arrives at the table in a glass bottle - again, a charming touch. The olives appetizer was incredible. My Caesar salad with shrimp was very light and delicious, delivering a huge portion of goodness on a decent sized plate. While reading Yelp reviews at the table, they mention the head chef was also the owner - directly to the right of me was the head chef sitting at a table, doing some paperwork on her laptop before the restaurant closed. This was a nice thing to see; she was out in the open, observing the patrons and making small talk with friends that happened to stop in for a glass of wine & to say hello. Truly, Volare was a great way to start my vacation in the Atlanta/Hapeville area. I'd definitely recommend giving them a chance if you happen to be around. You won't be disappointed.

I think the Catalina is listed twice... Just to make sure, here is another review. Where can you leave stuffed for $3.00???? The Catalina (aka Mercado), thats where. You need some banda music? They have that. You need Mexican Soap operas? Yep, they have that too. Authentic Mexican food at a great price. Not only that, but they GIVE you hot dog soup with every meal. Thats right INCLUDED! Eat here.
Place is okay but on my last 3 visits they were lagging in the quality of the food. And weekend to many drunken fools around wich is not good when you got family
Nice little authentic mexican market with a great restaurant in the back! Spending the last 6.5 years of my life in Las Vegas, these types of places are something I miss a lot. My friend found this place a few months ago since its pretty close to his union hall. Being so far from my house and me never having a reason to go down there, I hadn't had a chance to check it out. He had to swing down there quick a few weeks ago, so I decided to tag along. He took me to this place for lunch and its great! We each got huge plates of food and a few beers for about $20! The servers were all super nice. Definitely not the "kitchy" mexican restaurants you find that generally serve texmex type food. You're basically sitting in a large cafeteria type room eating off mismatched dishes with plastic silverware. Very tijuana, but damn good!

Chick-fil-A

461 N Central Ave
Hapeville, 30354
Reviews:
Well this is it folks the original Chick-fil-A location. Here is where you can get the normal CFA options plus and extended menu that even includes a burger. I will say that the CFA items they serve are the best you are likely to encounter, the actual HQ for the Truett empire is very close to this location. It is a sit down restaurant and the wait staff all wear buttons saying how long they have worked there. The lowest number I saw on a button was like 14 years. Very friendly and very attentive.
Dan Cathay complains about blight on the south side of Atlanta .. Stopped here at 8:10 tonight. Went to the restroom then washed my hands .. There were no towels .. Went to the sink outside the restroom ...no towels ... Then came to sit with my wife .. She had gone to the lady's room .. No towels .. The floor in both is filthy and while the people are nice so far, the counter has crumbs all over it. This is the original dwarf house and misses the sense of pride which we experience in many chick fil a's in the South.
As if I couldn't have fallen in love with my gf anymore, she brings me here. I absolutely LOVE Chick-fil-A. To dine at the ORIGINAL home of cfa on my way back to airport was a real treat. We opted to have a sit down meal as we could do sit down service anywhere back home. Somehow, we both had in mind that our sit down service would take longer. Instead, service was quick & food came flying out of the kitchen & onto our table in no time. Our meal was fantastic. We stuck with the Chicken plate & had fun with the sides. Broccoli & cheese. Mac & cheese. And (drum roll please). Sweet potato souffle. They put brown sugar in with their sweet potato. Talk about a party in my mouth. They do sweet potato perfectly! Of course, we also got the waffle fries too. Dining here was the perfect farewell to my weekend visit. Til the day we meet again, Dwarf House. iLy.

I tried to eat lunch here today at 11:30 but the doors were locked and the lights out even though it states on their website they are open M-F 11-11! Was looking forward to trying it out not cool.
Had a group meeting at hotel next door and tried Joffrey's for lunch. 35 of us and we all loved it! I had the jerk chicken sandwich and it was great. Everyone loved the burgers, salmon, chicken fingers etc. we're coming back tomorrow too. Wish we had your shop in IL.
Just can't say enough about Amita's new location. Even better bar and lots of non-alcoholic beers which are great for pilots who are laying over. But, it is a local institution with amazing food, especially the salmon dishes, jerk chicken sandwich, wings and more exotic stuff. She also has wonderful desserts and has many gluten free dishes and all of it is healthy and belies her London roots as a true fusion experience. She added a premium sports package, so great place to watch national games and the local teams on her big screen TV.

Grecian Gyro

855 Virginia Ave
Hapeville, 30354
Reviews:
Needed someplace near the hotel that was quick. Thai reviews sucked, but the reviews for this place were pretty good. And they were accurate. It's a bit grubby on the outside, but they got all the right stuff on the inside. We did a to go order. I originally got just a gyro, but when I walked in to see them putting together a platter, well, I upgraded and wasn't sorry one bit that I over ordered. Get the potatoes, and don't miss the sauce. Salad was a nice complement. The gyro philly style was darn tootin good too
Food was good, but the place is disgustingly filthy. Saw a number of health code violations while I waited. Sauces not refrigerated, employee wiped the outside of the sauce bottle with her apron, a tub of sauce set up on another one to drain the last bit into the new bottle, tables where not wiped, trash cans where full and sticky. I'm from out of town so maybe that's kinda normal here, but it's disgusting. All that said, the souvlaki and potatoes where very good although the pork portion was a little small. The salad was ok, cucumber and tomato could have been fresher. The sweet tea is good. Only reason for one star instead of two is to offset some of the high marks more. No place this filthy should get 4 stars.
So there are a couple of these places in town. All are similar and different at the same time. The main thing that's wrong with this location is that it is a small restaurant with a small parking lot. Besides that I think these places are a little expensive for the amount of food they give you. Now don't get me wrong, but this is a gyro place and gyros are usually pretty good. This is no exception the food is ok. So the question is would I eat here again? Well maybe not at this location but I will eat at the other location being a little larger better parking and seems to be a little cleaner.

Domino’s Pizza

Reviews:
I order from Domino's all the time, and I am always happy! Delivery folks are always nice, and the orders come quickly. the pizza is always hot, and delicious! Carter~ your pizza's are the best! I love Domino's! *happy dance*
I own a home in a rather new subdivision called Preston Hills in the Lakewood area of Atlanta. A depressed area of the city that until the real estate bubble burst, was on its way to recovery. With the recent economic turnaround, we are beginning to see signs that builders and business are returning to further gentrify this neighborhood. Domino's Pizza and a Papa Johns Pizza are the only two food delivery options available in my ZIP code. So you can image as a pizza lover, I order from both restaurants quite often. Switching back and forth to appease waining palettes for one or the other. My experience with this Domino's Pizza location overall has been satisfying. I have always ordered delivery and have made my purchases through using either dominos.com or the Domino's app through various smart devices. Drivers have been courteous and cordial. Delivery times, for the most part, are consistent and timely. And it's kind of fun and convenient to take advantage of the Pizza Tracker on Domino's website to track the progress of your order. However, there are a couple of items that could be addressed that would make me reevaluate my rating of 3 out of 5 stars. 1. When ordering extra items such as dipping sauces or icing, this location has been inconsistent about delivering these paid for items with the order. 2. There have been at least 3 occasions where the pizza I ordered wasn't sliced or was partially sliced. Sources have told me that a Chinese take-out/delivery restaurant is opening a location in the new Super Wal-Mart shopping center soon in East Point, GA which would be a new option for delivery to my home. With more and more competition entering the marketplace within the general vicinity, my hope is that this will be an incentive for both Domino's and Papa John's to stay competitive by increasing customer satisfaction & food quality. For the time being, my options are limited to them both.
Horrible management and costumer service. Pizza is never delivered on time, not a matter of minutes, but hours. The 2 last orders were 2:30 and 1:30 hours LATE. I don't want a cold pizza. Every time you call you get "yo" and "all right man" it is leaving right now and wait for another 30/45 minutes. Sad for Dominos. I like their pizza, but won't be ordering there again.
