went in for a take out order, first time. Watted around but could not get any service, staff not very friendly. Finally just left.

So I decided to peruse the flea market for something to do and much to my surprise can across the restaurant. Some of the vendors said the food was very good. I decided to check out the menu. I finally decided to order 2 things and take it home to get a feel for the food. Ordered the Philly cheese steak and Italian taco. Both had great flavor but taco did have a fair amount of grease in bottom of container. Taco was pizza bread layered with Italian meat, cheese and veggies and was pretty tasty. Philly cheese steak was good with nice favors and tender meat. Definitely will try again as they had a nice variety of food. The dining room was pretty big with high counter seating and tables. Looks like they might have live music as well as there was a small sound stage set up in the corner.

please forgive the lengthy review. but I felt since I'm giving this place 1 star. I want to give the reasons why best I can to be fair. I'm new to the area and looking for a good mom and pop Italian place (any suggestions please let me know) all I've heard and read is how great this place was. I gave it 4 trys and I must say I wasn't very impressed either time. why did I go back 4 times you ask. 1st time I ordered the Italian taco. that time I got veggies that just looked and tasted old as if theyd been sitting around a while, the bread was very hard and needless to say I wasn't impressed. 2nd time I figured I'd try the pizza everyone raves about. ordered the pizza and waited outside. when I got the pizza home (15 min drive) I again wasn't very impressed. you ever bite into a pizza and feel like you are biting into a pizza left over from lunch? that's the feeling I got. not saying it was but the meats were hard, bread seemed over heated. not burnt but more like a "let's heat this up in the oven a little and throw a couple extra pepperoni on it before we send it out" type of feel. 3rd time my girl insisted on trying it. she got one of the entrées I think some kind of lemon chicken dish, it's been a while. I took another crack at the Italian taco. Same results for me. veggies seemed old. meat seemed over cooked and bread seemed stale. 4th time (last night) she insisted again trying it. so we went. well as we were waiting to order. we observed the lady taking orders and making drinks walking towards us with 4 cups in her hand. as she was walking I saw her drop one of the cups on the ground (it rolled a couple of feet) and pick it back up and process to fill it with ice and whatever the person ordered. I tapped my girl asked her if she saw it. she said yes then turned around and walked out. sorry but I don't abide by the 5 second rule in my house let alone a restaurant. I guess the thing that shocked us was she just picked it up and filled it right in front of us like nothing. if that's how they act when you can see them. then how is it when you can't? no thank you. that was their last chance for my business.

As some of the other reviews say, do not judge a book by its cover. The restaurant is attached to a flea market and doesn't look like much from thw outside, but I swear the pizza is worth it! We started w/ their antipasto salad app and ordered a pizza. Both were delicious and our waitress was super friendly. We'll definitely return! Spoiler alert: they close early!

This place is sharing a room with the flea market, the smell of old clothes just makeshift me want to leave the place, but I decided to stay and try their food. There was only 4 other people in the restaurant, big space with very little sad decor, we ordered a pizza and a calzone, calzone was spelled wrong it said cazone, wish they wrote it the right way, oh well, it was not a real calzone, the pizza was just ok, not a real Italian pizza, black olives slices came from a water jar, raw peppers sliced thin, same pepperoni which we do not have Italy and sausage "italian" kind, that we still do not use for our pizza , calzone was a big panzerotto, this is how we call in it Puglia. It was just a big pizza folded in with ricotta e ham, not worth the price or flavor! Been there, never again!

We had heard good things about this place. Best pizza in town, great salads, "I swear by their food", don't judge by the outside, etc. So we gave it a shot. I called in the order for take out. 1 large pepperoni pizza, one order of garlic rolls and one antipasto salad. When I got there the waitress handed me a pizza, but nothing else. I asked where the rolls and salad were, she said that this was what the ticket said and the old woman must've screwed up so it would just be a few minutes. Then I checked the pizza and it was just cheese. They took it back to fix it (by just putting cold pepperoni on it, nice). So basically the entire order was wrong, but hey we all make mistakes. The big thing was how bad the food was. The pizza was old tasting. The garlic rolls were cold and chewy. The worst was the salad, pretty sure the deli meat rotten. I took one bite then spit it out. I'll never go back. Dominoes is better, but I'll stick to cooking pizza at home. This place should just close.

Quite underwhelming really ... I don't know what the raves are about. Perhaps it is simply local allegiance which would be understandable. Nothing wrong with supporting the home team. There are simply better options around.

This is the kind of place that you would never think about entering, almost like a secret club. But, enter that mysterious door and you will find a real italian resturant in the most unlikely place. The food is good, prices decent, service may be slow but the waitress is straight from Italy. Can't wait to try it again.

San Vito's food is excellent! This is our favorite Italian restaurant. The quality is comparable to the food back in Brooklyn. We usually get the shrimp parm (huge portion) and their pizzas. Don't let the location deter you. Like other reviewers, we weren't sure if we were at the right place when we first drove by. But once you tried their food, you will overlook the location.

Really good pizza, not greasy or over-sauced, but very slow service. The antipasto salad had little sliced rolls of meat and cheese and was nicely dressed. My wife proclaimed this the best antipasto salad she's had in more than 20 years. We've tried other pizza in the area and were disappointed. We were reluctant to try it because of the flea market location in a former K-Mart. We had seen the signs on US-41 and went closer, but drove away when we saw the building. Then a neighbor in Mira Bay recommended the pizza and we went in on a Friday night when we were out of options. We've tried pasta and meat dishes on a couple of visits and have been underwhelmed. Way too much cheese in the New York/Jersey style. We stick to pizza. Even worse, every time I order beer the taps are out of everything except Bud Light and Miller Lite. I want draft beer with taste - is that so hard? After several more visits, I've dropped my rating. The pizza is still a 5, but the service and other food options are barely a 3. There are never enough waitresses to keep up with the table so getting food, much less drinks in a timely manner is a problem. Nobody comes forward to help with the register so takeouts have to wait for waitress to pick up and pay. We're not going as often because of the slow service.

2nd trip had chicken parm, was great and large serving. Only a 2 min drive from mira bay if you live in area. If trying to find it right across from mcDonalds. Very friendly staff.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
