Let's be clear: this is not a phenomenal place to eat. You don't go for amazing food of high quality. You go for the novelty and good people. I was picking up some items for work at FASTSIGNS in this plaza around noon and needed to get lunch. I saw this little diner and thought, "why the hell not?" So I went in and seated myself. The place is rather bland and old looking, though they have tried to spruce it up by adding some art and eclectic things on the walls. It looks straight out of the 70s. I'll also confirm other reviews that the AC is sorely sub par. It wasn't unbearable, but also not pleasant. The good news is I was told many of the shopping center's tenants are getting new AC units. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and sweet tea. This is clearly a southern joint, because this was southern sweet tea. Read: super sweet, just as it should be. The burger was good enough. That's not a knock. It was flavorful, juicy. But nothing special. They square of processed cheese was clearly thrown on last minute, as it hadn't even melted yet. But who cares? The fries were so so. Nothing to write home about. But you go to places like this for comfort food that's still yummy and to meet nice people and get a sense of small town charm (an illusion in Orlando for sure, but still welcomed). The two female waitresses were incredibly pleasant and attentive. We joked, made small talk, and when they found out that my wife and I are about to have a baby, they got so genuinely excited it was adorable. They said I have to bring wife and baby in sometime soon, and you know what? I think I will!

Food and service was great but the air is always broken we have tried this place several times but you walk into this HOT Sauna last thing I want to do when its 93+ outside. To many other restaurants around. We definitely feel sorry for the waitress.

I don't know what R M. is rambling about and Stephanie D's seems like it's some other restaurant. I have been coming to this location for 20 years plus from when it was Country Fixins to now Café Perks. The clientele is loyal, always coming back because the wait staff is terrific. No this is not a 5 star overpriced restaurant that doesn't give a crud about its customers. It's a 4 star diner where the customers recognize each other and appreciate good country style food served by kind servers and prepared by a quality kitchen staff. Your family of 4 can have a great breakfast for under $20 and everyone will leave happy. The restaurant is clean. Come and enjoy a great breakfast or lunch. You won't be disappointed.

Great divey breakfast joint. Super cheap, super fast. Not at all healthy. Yum.

I posted this review on 6/9/2013 but linked to the wrong Cafe Perks location. This update is to place the review with the location where it belongs. Cafe Perks was formerly called Order Up. I was a big fan of Order Up and I used to be fan of Cafe Perks until going there on Sunday, 6/23/13 for breakfast. I am changing my "highly recommended" rating to "won't go there again". When I arrived there was a new waitress. She was efficient but not overly friendly. Her lack of personality might be due to the fact that I asked about my regular waitress (Amy) who was not there on this visit. The new girl simply said "she doesn't work here anymore". When I asked what happened and where Amy went, she said "I don't know". That may be true and it may not be true, but the lack of conversation was a bit off-putting, especially since I have been a regular at this place for well over a year and Amy has been there throughout that time. The fact that Amy isn't there is not the end of the world, but her response was a lot less than informative or conversational. Cafe Perks (and previously Order Up) is not a fancy corporate restaurant, it's a family owned place that's one small step above a greasy spoon. One of the things I liked about this place was the comfort level and the friendliness. And to avoid anyone jumping to the incorrect conclusion that I'm just angry because my regular waitress isn't there any more, that's not the issue. Before Amy was my waitress there was a waitress named Courtney. And there was also Dianne. Both were my regular waitresses before Amy. I understand that staff turns over in places like this - all I expected from a new waitress was a bit of a conversation. The new waitress didn't have attitude, but she also didn't have personality. Oh well, on with the review and the dramatic downgrade to 1 star... As I was sipping my coffee, I noticed the music mix was Baptist church songs. You know those songs where everyone sings along at church with the words displayed on a large monitor behind the preacher? That was the mix. I've been to this restaurant more times than I can count - mostly on Sunday mornings - and this was the first time I heard church music for breakfast. I asked the waitress if the church music was the new Sunday morning music mix and received a dismissive "yep" for a reply. I thought about it for a minute and decided to pay for my coffee and go somewhere else for breakfast. I don't have a problem with church songs that have 5 words and repeat endlessly, but I have a BIG problem with listening to that music while I'm trying to enjoy my breakfast. The waitress said the coffee was on the house so I left a $1 tip and took my business elsewhere. It's a shame because I spend a decent amount of money at this little hole in the wall diner on a yearly basis. They lost me as a customer, they lost me as a supporter on Yelp and they lost the revenue. All because of a waitress who believes in spreading her personal gospel more than taking care of her customers. My reaction was not about my personal faith (I've been to Baptist church services plenty of times in my life), it was about what's right and what's not right when you go out to eat on a Sunday morning. If I want to listen to Baptist worship songs, I will visit a Baptist church where I can sing along. That's not what I want or expect when I go out to eat on a Sunday morning. I wish the new owners well, but this is one former customer who will no longer recommend Cafe Perks to my friends. I suspect the owners don't even know their new waitress is trying to push her faith on their customers since I've never heard that music before her arrival. I hope they read this review and do something about it before this waitress alienates even more customers. And if the owners made the choice to have their customers attend church while eating breakfast, I would like to suggest (strongly) that it's a bad idea. Personal choices about faith should be just that - personal. I don't need musical sermons while I'm eating my eggs and bacon.

This restaurant is awful. It changed names from Order Up Cafe so we thought we would give it a try. We had bugs in our coffee and the service was extremely slow. It took us 30 min to get 2 orders of eggs and there were only a few other tables in the restaurant. The food was disgusting as well. I do not recommend.
