THERE IS ONLY ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE THE FRIES... FLACCID! I don't understand the popularity of Five Guys, other than to say that you will get a decent burger here, if the carnivore in you has a meat craving that absolutely demands satisfaction. The burgers have a good flavor to them! There is definitely a savory, charred flavor to the burgers. The portions are asininely huge. But most Wisconsinites will appreciate that. The atmosphere itself is weird. It's like Jimmy Dean on steroids....red and white checkers everywhere. And then there are the uber bright pendant lights that shine down and make me feel like an item on a salad bar. Think picnic meets gas station in terms of ambiance. Then there are the fries. That is where they could be better. They are plentiful though, for sure. But as I was eating them, I couldn't help but recall Meryl Streep's line in that movie Death Becomes Her: "You're nothing but an impotent, FLACCID clown." And that's what these fries were--soggy, and well, flaccid. If Five Guys can dim down the lights a tad, and perfect their fries, this restaurant could net out five stars as a sit down-fast food hybrid. For now, three stars for a joint with tasty burgers, but fries that could benefit from some Viagra.

I don't get what the hype is about???? I have heard from people that this is the best place and maybe that is why when I went I expected so much more. Staff was friendly and the place is spotless but the food itself wasn't all that. I had a burger with cheese, mushrooms and fried onions. It was slapped together and the cheese was not even melted - at all - like cold out of the refrigerator. Really? this is what people rave about? I do have to admit it did have a good flavor. Fries were your basic skin on thicker cut fries. I was not a fan. The family loves this place so I guess I am the odd ball of the group that was not impressed. I'm sure I will be back again but only if we are at Mayfair for something already. Peanuts are a plus!

All the hype I heard right before this place came to Mayfair, was for nothing. The burgers were ok, but the fries were terrible, they were greasy, soggy and under cooked. The choice of toppings is good, and also dictates price, which isn't terrible, but in my opinion not completely worth it.

One word awesome fries!!! I don't get it why people cut down on fries I guess milwaukeians just love to eat frozen fries. Of course your fries get soggy after a white cause they are not FROZEN

If you like a meaty burger you should consider going here...I love it the food (you even get free peanut, lol). You get to pick from a lenghty list of condiments for your burger and you can get as much or as little as you want (the only thing missing in my opinion is 1000 Island). The reason that they didn't get 5 stars is that we did not like seeing the pantry supplies. But please don't let that stop you, your taste buds will be sad if you did ^_^

Been coming to Five Guys since they started in DC and experience have always been very good. This time I had great service! After placing my standard order I was looking up Five Guys Secret Menu and found the Patty Melt option. One employee said they do it, and another asked if I wanted to change my order. Of course... Very cool in the moment reaction to a customer desire!

Remember a few years back when the world was creaming it's collective pants over Five Guys? The hype has died down, but you can relive the fun by visiting any Five Guys location which will be plastered with glowing reviews from such media stalwarts as the Wake Forest Gazette extolling the delights of the "Best Burger of 2009". Seriously, its probably time to update some of those signs. Anyway, for a chain burger Five Guys is pretty tasty. There's only a few things on the menu (hot dogs, grilled cheese and the burgers) so were ordered burgers and fries - because the name isn't Five Guys Grilled Cheese. I like that you can customize your toppings and that everything is made to order. The people that work at this location were actually pleasant and friendly, a rarity in fast food. My burger? Definitely above average in quality and decently priced at about $6.50 for a 1/2lb burger (burgers are two smaller patties though the menu doesn't really tell you that). Fries? Ehhhh...I'm in the camp that thinks Five Guys fries aren't anything special. They do give you WAY more than you need - a regular easily serves 2 people. They've also got one of those nifty soda machines from the future where you can make all types of different and disgusting drink combos if you so choose. Overall - Five Guys is pretty good for a chain burger place. But you shouldn't really eat here all that often because you'll die. The end.

I visited the Five Guys burger and fries at Middleton Wisconsin on Greenway Boulevard. I was so disappointed when I asked what kind of cheese they have I was told all they had was american cheese. I don't think they thought about this place very well no drive thru and right by a McDonalds that has all kinds of cheese. Not thrilled

Wow that was good. Disclosure, I'm not really a burger guy. But I thought the hamburger here was delicious. I really liked it.

Five five five guysssss!! Awesome as always! The place was a little busier than I usually run into and the staff did a great job taking care of everyone in a timely matter. Definitely recommend getting a small fry if you are alone, not only do they give a cup, but they seem to dump a whole nother serving into the bag.

I love Five Guys - I really do. I can't really control myself when it comes to this place. If you ask me if I want to go, I will always say, "YES." There appears to be a lot of Five Guys fries haters out there, but I actually love them. Salty, crispy and thick - om nom nom. If you want something with a little kick, get the cajun style. And be warned, you do get a SHLOAD of fries. My husband and I can split a regular easily. However, I only give this location 3 stars because it's always sticky. Like the floors, the tables...all sticky and crumb topped. And the service is hit or miss. But don't worry - there are plenty of other location to chose from.

FIVE GUYS gets FIVE STARS Okay so, I've had Five Guys previously, and was satisfied, but after going there on pretty decently busy Tuesday, I'm blown away! First thing noticed upon walking into the restaurant was how clean it was, and as i said before, it was pretty busy. Second thing noticed is the tiny simple little menu, this is good. Laid out in black and white (and red ;), even if you are not sure what you want, you should be able to decide very quickly, choose something to put between your buns, choose condiments, fries? Drink? Yes, please! This is great given the complications we are faced with day by day. As me and my lovely companion were standing in an ever growing queue, i couldn't help but notice how friendly the young lady at the counter was. This is very nice because, when the hell was the last time you walked into a fast food restaurant and something that caught your eye was how nice and happy the employees were? Having pride in ones work is not something that usually goes hand in hand with fast food, or even full-service restaurants for that matter, this was a breath of fresh air to say the least. As we were helped by the aforementioned bright young gal, we shared a couple laughs and were not rushed, but helped in a fast and efficient manner. Working in a kitchen is hard when its busy, and its even harder being so nice and friendly to every single customer, but that's exactly what we received and exactly what we observed as given to every patron. After a five minute wait we received out boatload of fries, Cajun style, cooked to perfection, a bacon cheeseburger and a hot dog. Fries, obviously freshly cut, as noted by the 20 or so bags of potatoes sitting on a rack in the lobby, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Love that they fill the bottom of the bag, generous portions are hard to come across nowadays. The burger, a little one, can hardly be called little. Every ingredient freshly cut and placed on a fresh juicy burger patty, bursting with flavor. The hot dog, ordered Chicago style, with the same fresh ingredients, was sliced in half like id never seen before. It was like they made a burger out of a hot dog, it was awesome! The only thing i don't like about this place is that its so far away! Ive been to the one on Oakland several times and it comes nowhere near comparison to this little gem of a burger place! I shall come back here often and bask in the burger glory! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS AND GIRLS!

F eeling hungry after creating a wedding registry at C&B, I headed to Five Guys with my fiance. V egetables? No. I wanted Dayum Dayum DAYYYYUM good burgers. E veryone should try their free peanuts; they are salty though, just like the fries. G ood golly Ms. Molly - my favorite invention, the Coke Freestyle machine is in this U nusually small, but clean and organized restaurant space. Y es the employees were courteous, friendly, and polite. S adly, slightly overpriced as usual.

Great burger! The Small burger would have been sufficient though, only one patty. The French fries were excellent and fresh!

Huge fan of 5 guys. They are consistently the best $8 burger you can buy. they are freshly made and the fries are even good. The meal is extremely filling and for $10 I can't think of a better meal.

Pros: It's in a mall; You can grub up on your way to foot locker. It's a pretty good fast food burger. They don't nickle and dime you for add ons and condiments. They have crayons so you can write immature things about friends and hang naughty drawings on the wall. Cons: It's in a mall. Unless you need to go to foot locker, it's horribly inconvenient. I have never received great service here. One time it took 30 minutes to get my food. Thats ridiculous. They might not nickle and dime on add ons, but thats only because you've already paid $7-8 for the burger. In conclusion: They sell hamburgers. Sometimes it's convenient. Immature drawings.

I purposely avoid Five Guys because I know once I eat their burger I'm going to want another one like everyday for the next 2 weeks. They have the best fast food burger in my opinion. I can't exactly pinpoint what makes them so good - they just are. The fries are nothin special - I don't even order them when I eat here. If you do order them, beware - you can split the regular size between a couple people easily.

I first read about Five Guys several years ago in GQ, where they noted the franchise as the fastest growing burger chain. I've stopped in for their delectable double patty burgers several times in various locations. For a big chain, they're probably as good as you'll get. There's nothing overly special about the place other than that all burgers are cooked to order, and the myriad amount of toppings you can add. Note: avoid the lettuce (This reviewer enjoys bacon, tomato, grilled onions, and pickles with a dash of A-1) and build at your own risk - the burgers fall apart the more you add. I should note the fries are pretty tasty -- add the Cajun seasoning if you're looking for a blood pressure spike. Overall, I'd rather nosh on Sobelman's, AJ Bombers, or Kopps (among the many other Milwaukee options) but in a fix Five Guys will do.

Went to 5 Guys in Mayfair, ordered a couple burgers and a large fries ($5.00). We got our order and there was a small amount of fries in the normally overflowing cup and no extra sack dump. I thought that they may be cutting corners and eliminating the sack dump but decided to watch the fries guy to see if he was making the dump.. I watched him bag a couple orders with small fries and he did the extra dump that made them famous.. We were going to leave a little mad and my wife said I should mention it to the clerk. I did and the manager who was standing next to her went into panic, apologized and set me up for a free meal, diffusing any bad feelings I was going to leave with..excellent customer care...
