This sub is very small as far as subs go. Barely bigger than a Chicago dog. My sub was missing the lettuce, tomato and onion. Other order mistakes were made with our work lunch but i cant comment on because they were not my order. The NY slammer tasted good and next time I will make it a large. I know they just opened and when I go back I will up date my review. This Is day three for them and I will go back. They seem nice and are getting it together but they need time. The store is clean and nice looking. The soda machine is out of star trek and can probably make you any thing you want.

Ok, seriously one of the best subs place in the city! My friend and I went to this place hungry and not sure what to get and we left the place satisfied. We both ordered the turkey bacon ranch sub and it was delicious! The bread was soft and it was hot. The staff there seemed really friendly and was patient while waiting for us to decide on what to get. This place definitely makes Subway, JimmyJohns, and cousins look bad. Hands down!

Steamed meat plus toasted bread equals soggy and slimy mess. The meat is pretty much what you can buy at pick'n'save. I'm not a big guy, but the portion was a bit small for $8.00+. I've been there 3 times and I'm done. If I hear someone say 'welcome to firehouse' again I'll puke.

Best out of all the sub places. Cool ambience and setup. 120 choice drink machine. My two go to subs are the steak and cheese and the turkey bacon ranch although they are all great! Your doing things right Firehouse! Love the warm welcome to Firehouse when you first walk in as well! A+

We've only been there twice- the first time wasn't that great, the second was a little better. We only went back the second time because it was my fiancé's birthday (they offer a free medium sub on your birthday with proof on a valid state ID). They offer hot & cold subs & salads. The subs come in small, medium & large; dependent on size, prices vary between $6-$9. Online ordering is also available. I'm not sure if all locations have one, but the one we've gone to has one of those fancy soda machines that has over 100 choices. On the first visit, I got the Smoked Turkey Breast- smoked turkey breast, smothered with Provolone cheese, served fully involved (=mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato & onion, with a kosher dill pickle spear on the side); toasted. My fiancé had the New York Steamer- corned beef brisket, pastrami, smothered with Provolone cheese, mustard, mayo & Italian dressing; toasted. Unfortunately, both subs were relatively bland & soggy. Given the price (we both got mediums), it felt like a waste of money & we weren't interested in returning. The service was fair & there weren't many other patrons there. It was a bit of a wait for the subs to be ready, since they were being toasted; it took significantly longer than Subway's toasting, probably 2-3 times as long. We gave them a second chance, solely because of the free birthday sub. We split the Hook & Ladder- smoked turkey breast & honey ham, smothered with Monterey Jack cheese, served fully involved; toasted. The service on that visit was okay, but the guy making the sub seemed irritated that we were going to be getting it for free & not purchasing anything else (Since we weren't thrilled with the first visit, why would we spend more money there prior to seeing if giving them a second chance would prove it was worth it?). It was significantly better than our first visit, but we'll probably only return if we get a decent coupon. Overall, the food is inconsistent, the prices are so-so, service was okay, but slow.

Firehouse isn't your standard, build your own sub place. I like that they have designed subs. It's nice sometimes, just ordering a sub by name and not having to stress out about picking toppings and sauces. The subs have fresh ingredients, in fact, my sub tasted like something I would have assembled at home. The bread was okay, but it tasted like an on the shelf bag of manufactured bread that you would find at the grocery store. The bread did not have that fresh baked bread feel that so many sub shops offer today. The meat and veggies were also very fresh, but they were missing some crowning touch or signature that made me want to return. The restaurant is laid back and very clean. They have fire hats for the kids and the Coke machine offering 100 drink combinations. There is a local vibe to this place that is very comforting.

I was in the Mayfair area one day and stopped here for lunch. I was greeted with the "welcome to Firehouse" chant from the workers. The place was neat and clean and cheery, had a nice upbeat atmosphere, the menus were easy to read and seating was comfortable. The place was well lit with plenty of natural light from the surrounding big over-sized windows. And of course love the red colors throughout. I liked the fact that the sub sandwich was still warm by the time I got back to my office. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, everything seemed fresh and clean, the sandwich had just the right amount of condiments, not too much, not too little, nothing was wasted. Plus they have healthy bread choices, like wheat. I really liked the soda machine, it reminded me of the soda machines at the marcus majestic theater in Brookfield, lots of options. This place was great, I've gone back 3 more times for lunch, enjoyed the sandwich each time, turkey bacon ranch is my favorite!

The subs here are alright. I wouldn't say they were so good I was in shock but they are pretty decent but because of the price I don't think I will frequent this place too often. I don't think they're any better than any other place I can get subs from.

YUMM! "Subs" may be in the name, but I think salad is their game! Momma's Chicken Salad is where it's at!! This wonderful dish has filled my belly multiple times, it is my go to when I'm in a pinch. Their service is fantastic and I love hearing "welcome to firehouse" when I walk in! My salad always comes out on time and just as delicious as ever! Management here is top notch, you can tell when you walk in the door! Thanks for the cajillion drink choices, Firehouse, keep up the awesome work!

Pretty good sandwich but I really came here to get a pop. The pop machine was down so that sucked and overall put me in a poor mood. Sandwich was good but I prefer Potbelly over this. Drove by many times and wanted to check it out. I did and that's done. Probably won't be back.

I really like Firehouse Subs. It's a great alternative to your typical Jimmy Johns/Subway type places, and everything just tastes a little better here. i'll be honest and say that I've only gotten 1 type of sub at Firehouse, but it's great every time so I don't feel the need to expand my horizons too much. The service at this location was lacking a little bit, but that could be due to the fact that it was almost time for them to close. Prices are a little more than your normal sub place, but I feel it's worth it because the quality is so good. As an added bonus, they have a Coke Refresh machine, so you can create your own drink with over 100 different possibilities. I'll be back!

Yes please! So. I love a good sandwich which is why I loved Subway. Then I moved to the Midwest and discovered Jimmy Johns and that was Bye-Bye Subway!! I'll never go to subway again. Then my co-worker introduced me to Firehouse. And maybe...maybe I'd say bye-bye to JJ but there are so few Firehouse Subs around that it's not an option. Honestly I LOVE JJ's bread. But Firehouse's sandwiches are tastefully awesome. If you put all the makings of a Firehouse sandwich on Jimmy John's bread, I'd be in absolute heaven! I love JJs bread, but Firehouse had really nice bread too. It doesn't taste bland like subways and is quite soft. I quite enjoyed the sweet tea option! Is this becoming more popular now because I'm seeing it more. I'd rather have tea than soda. They also have a fancy soda machine with lots of options. Fanta options I believe. But their medium drink is no medium. In fact, it's quite large! I'd hate to see what a large actually looks like. Anyway sandwich was awesome. I did the make your own option and added the combo. I'll be honest they have a ton of sandwich options and I didn't feel like standing there to read all of them. So I was thankful for make your own. I got roast beef, mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. Also, oil and vinegar. No cheese. And it was superb. I have a thing for simple sandwiches. Add the chips and medium/large drink, it was under, but about $8. Place was pretty busy. Staff were super friendly. It was pretty clean and mostly stocked. You take a seat after getting your drink and they bring your sub to you. I'll definitely return!

Descriptive phrase: free birthday sub. Nom nom nom I think Firehouse Subs are a step above many other submarine sandwich places, in quality and taste. Best of all, if you come in ON your birthday you get a free sub! I tried the Club On A Sub, "fully loaded", and found it filling and scrumptious. This location was packed at lunch, and was fairly comfortable.

Call 911. You are gonna need a steady stream of water from a fire hose after you eat here. Their subs are so.damn.salty. You'll be thirsty all day after eating here. Seriously, look up their nutrition info and be prepared to consume all your daily sodium in one sub. Tried their special sweet Thai chili pork sub. It was pretty tasty, but when you're thirsty the whole rest of the day it's just not worth it to me. The decor is super cute though, especially if you have kids. Totally fire department themed. Kids can wear red plastic fire hats. FYI the regular sized sub should be big enough. Only upgrade to a large sub if you're super hungry or have a really big appetite. Check 'em out if you're interested. But I'm serious, you're gonna need to drink a ton of water afterwards.

Exceptionally good as always. Love the #9 firehouse hero sub. The place is clean and people are friendly. They have the best soda machine with thousands on varieties of soda options.

Another great experience at a Firehosue subs. First time at this location but it was very clean, So clean in fact that TMJ4 gave them a blue ribbon for clean dining, so that's pretty cool. Staff was friendly food seemed to take a little longer than your typical Firehouse experience but the food was good. My favorite is the Club.

I was impressed with this business. Before I entered I didn't really know what to expect as it is labeled as a sub place and in my mind I was picturing a Subway or JJs knockoff. This was not the case at all. Inside there is a more "traditional" restaurant feel minus a server. You order your food up front, find a seat and when it is ready they call your name to come get it. The food was delicious. The size of the sub is probably 20% smaller than a Subway loaf, but the bread was so soft and the sandwich contents flavorful. There was also a soda pop fountain machine where you can not only choose which pop you want, but you can also mix and match flavors! I imagine kids love it. They had a refreshingly friendly staff who were attentive. They walked around picking up finished trays and trash. The price was not too high, only slightly more expensive than subway.

Good food, and good customer service. Too good. Really. There is no way these guys are this happy all the time. As soon as you enter, they sound off with a smile: "10-12 ... WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE!" I'm not convinced that they aren't torn to bits with the jaws of life if they don't smile and yell. For clarity, the bread is delicious, if somewhat gummy. The meat is clearly of top notch quality, and this restaurant is a hot sauce lover's dream come true, with dozens of brands, varieties and spice levels to choose from. Seriously though, the niceness borders on creepy.

Smoked meat is my friend. Put it on a sandwich, and I like it even more. I stopped by this suburban little gem for a quick sandwich and was impressed. It's a clean shop with super friendly employees and quick service. Trifecta on the hospitality. Our sandwiches were pretty darn good. Not spectacular, but good. I'd stop in again for sure!

Firehouse subs was awesome in Virginia, and it's awesome here. Friendly people and more food than I can handle. You get what you pay for and it's delicious. If you are military I think they give a free drink. At least they did in Virginia. Probably the same if you are a fireman.

I went here for the first time whilst in Milwaukee for a seminar. I really just wanted a sandwich I could take back to my room and decided I did not want to drive so I walked there from my hotel. It ended up being just over 1 mi. round-trip and well worth the effort. The brisket sandwich was excellent and their turkey one (selection no. 1, I believe) was also excellent. I would strongly encourage anyone who has not tried it to do so. The interior of the shop offered several televisions tuned to sports and they seem to encourage the football crowd.

I'm from out of town and stumbled upon this great sandwich place! Cute and kitschy concept. Staff is friendly. Sandwiches are yummy. Now that I know it here I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the area!

Went there 07/13/2013 around noon or 1 ish with my girlfriend. We'd never been there before and didn't know what to expect. I mean, it's a chain, and chain joints tend to get a bad rap in places like Milwaukee where we really like to boost small local owned joints. Walked in and the first thing I noticed was that the place is spotless. I know, kind of a weird thing to notice when there's all the fireman gear on the walls. But really, when was the last time you walked into a chain sandiwch shop and went "Whoa, this place is clean."? I'd checked out the menu online before hand and knew I wanted the New York Steamer. My girlfriend got the Steak and Cheese. I got the large size combo. I think next time, I'll just go with the large size sandwich and skip the chips. I didn't expect someone to bring the sandwiches to the table. That was a nice touch and the guy who brought them out to us looked glad to be there and talked up the food he brought out. Even the girl who took our order was smiling and chatty with us. She later came by to see how we liked our food and seemed happy to take care of us when we said this was our first time. I loved my sandwich. The meat was juicy, the add ons and sauce was a good punch of flavor. My girlfriend and I kept taking bites of each other's sandwiches with different hot sauces just to try as many flavor combinations as we could, Oh yeah, the hot sauces. At the end of the this wall where the crew is busy making the sandwiches on the other side, is row after row of hot sauce bottles ranging from 1-10 on a heat scale. I grabbed some of their house brand sauce and another one with a Caribbean like flavor and another called Hot Kiss or something. I eventually bought some of the house blend in one of the glass fire hydrant bottles. Long a drawn out review? Maybe. But like I said, chain places get a bad rap in this town. This is totally a place to visit and give it a try.

Blows jimmy johns, quiznos, and potbelly out of the water. Tastey subs and friendly staff. (Even if their unison "welcome to firehouse" can be comical at times) Everyone is always pleasant. If you are looking for a lunchtime sandwich, look no further.

It was ok. I was hopeful walking in and my first impressions were ok. Order taker was friendly and there were some specials that were up on a board that the descriptions were so small that I couldnt read what was in them. They werent in the take home menus either, which would be nice because they were advertising some tasty looking items that were under 500 calories I ended up getting a steak and cheese, large. Overall the sandwich was ok. It was plenty filling and has some tastiness to it. The mustard was real good. But I feel like the sandwich could have used something else. For a place that has all sorts of hot sauce I feel like they could use some actual hot peppers. I know they are a chain so decisions like that have to come from the top so if a manager or something reads this please pass it along to the top. The restaurant itself was a little dirty. The floors looked like they could use a washing. It was weird. I hope it was just I caught them after a rush. I got my order to go. I will be back to try some of their other items and I will update as I see fit. Will look for suggestions for some of their better subs

I was very pleased. The staff was super friendly and my tuna sub was on point. My friend had the veggie sub and really liked it. I read a review that the subs were too small, but I couldn't even finish mine! Everything tasted so fresh. I loved the decor, too. I will say that the sodas for the combos are WAY too big, but that's America for you. Better to have too much than not enough. I will definitely be back!

Not a bad sub but really small and expensive. Service is slow too. Don't know if I'll be back.

Had the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket. It was awesome! Staff was super nice and the decor is all local Tosa FD. Very cool. You can donate to them as well. I will be back soon!
