For a buffet the selection isn't all that great. Most of the food is over cooked, dry, and lacking of flavor. It doesn't seem like they follow any recipes and just make whatever they can with what they have. It's kind of annoying they started charging for drinks also. One thing I hate is seeing food in the buffet line with other food that feel in the dish. But it seems like it's always the case here.

My husband and I came here and we got exactly what we expected - unfortunately. We expected the cost of the buffet to be overpriced - check. We expected the food to be low quality - check. We expected the cleanliness of the restaurant to be poor - check. We knew what we were possibly getting into when we came here and we were hungry and gave up trying to agree on another place to eat - but they were worse than usual and it seems like they aren't trying to improve. Their banisters where you wait in line need to be repainted and their carpet is dingy. When we were there, it took about 30 minutes for someone to clear our plates. There was no variety of food choices to pick from and the restaurant was dirty - tables, floor, chair, buffet area, etc. Also, the pictures of the food they posted look NOTHING like what they food they "serve" actually looks like. If it did, my review would probably be much different.

Bacon makes everything better I've been to this location a few times now as it's saved for special occasions. It's pretty dingy but the food and service is acceptable. Salad bar - several choices of greens with lots of fresh veggies. Sides - looks like they took the standard mac and cheese, put in a ramekin with a sprinkle of shredded cheese & bacon on top. +1! Protein - carved beef, fish and a plethora of other choices. No one leaves hungry.

I'm giving this a Five-Stars rating for Thursday night, kids' night. From 5-8 pm, kids eleven and under pay $1.99. It's good for a group of kids. It's Old Country Buffet. The food is mediocre, but the price is right, the staff are busy workers and kids can have fun. Don't expect a spectacular meal, but do expect the kids to enjoy themselves. No cleaning dishes.

Well the quality has gone salad bar lacked the dressing I loved. The fish was dried and the steak was like rubber. I brought a friend for the first time and complained to management. The icing on the cake was I at least wanted a fresh cup of coffee with my meal and they were out of coffee! Asked a group of 6 people also leaving the buffet on the food quality and they were disappointed with the food. They are closing down some of the country buffet locations and I can see why . Draw your own conclusions and go at your own risk.

I went this location for the first time in about 3 years. I personally prefer Golden Corral, but I was hungry and I had an email coupon I wanted to take advantage and use it. The place was really packed our wait time was about ten minutes. I really enjoyed the the bbq ribs and and cod. the dessert is so-so. They have a deal on Saturdays and Sundays were you can get breakfast for $5.99 from 6am-11am. This is not a bad deal considering the fact that lunch cost $8.99 and dinner $11.99. They have banquet rooms avaialble. Sign up for the e-club for coupons.

Well. We generally don't go to Old Country Buffet, because the quality of the food has frequently been marginal at best. However, we recently visited this location, and noted with pleasure that the quality of the food is better than it once was. This location has a fair amount of seating and was in fairly clean, well-kept condition when we visited. Warm food was warm, cold food was cold, and the buffet was being constantly serviced by staff. The food was of typical buffet quality, some things pretty good, others marginal, but enough to have a decent lunch. The primary annoyance we noted was that there were dishes out where it wasn't obvious exactly what they were, and while many items had little signs above them, most of the one with signs didn't require signs, because they were obvious, while the unmarked items could have used some signs.

I am a first time visitor to this dining establishment and couldn't have been more pleased. First, the nice lady we met at the cashier station asked about our senior citizen status and appraised us of the new advantage available to us. Second, we showed up late in the lunch time period and still found all food offerings fully stocked. Third, some of the best fried chicken I've had; a buffet staple done very well. Fourth, the salad bar was fresh and well stocked, not that I do a lot of salad eating at a buffet mind you, I'm more of a meatapalooza kind of guy. The Mexican food station looked interesting but I did not try it. Fifth, they have caffeine free diet Coke; a welcome rarity in any restaurant. Sixth, all those desserts and none of them the cheap counterpart of a standard Chinese buffet. Next time I'm starting with dessert. Loosing weight would be easier for me if there weren't so many tasty replacement parts to be found here.

Good food at a good price. We use to have OCB in Chicago but they were bad!! I have been coming here almost every time I visit Milwaukee in the past 10 years. It's great when you have a big family with different taste in food. Clean place but could be cleaner. Staff was great, very patient with kids too.

Good value. It has a good variety of fresh food. The fried chicken is way over cooked though. Big fan of their ice cream and mousse. The place needs to be cleaned more.

We have not been to this Old Country Buffet for several years....now we know why! From the front door to the seating areas to the bathrooms.....all I can say is YUCK!!! This place needs a very deep cleaning and some major updating. Our booth seating had a big rip and the stuffing was sticking out. Everything looked like it needed to be cleaned. The food was OK, but considering how dirty things looked I was almost afraid to eat. The extra charge for a beverage with a meal makes it overpriced! We will not be going back anytime soon!

Apparently the night we went was Family Night...totally packed. I guess I was expecting more...I don't know why b/c I have been here a few times before. The food was acceptable and the price fair. The salad bar did have an unsightly look...there were huge spills of liquid all around the beverage counter, liquid on the floor, some of the plates had that greasy film on them. I have tasted much better, OCB will not be in my sights for a long while. No more buffets for a long time.

I went into it with suitably low expectations but still I was floored by how awful the patrons were. The food was meh but the employees (with the exception of the manager) seemed hard-working. But Jesus the customers.... One mid effing belched loudly and I stared at him so hard he was finally shamed into saying excuse me. The rudeness of the gen pop is just unbelievable. Just an awful and gross experience altogether. Oh and the slip and fall possibilities are endless here.

We went there 11/28/14. They stopped serving all you can eat steak and that was the first negative thing. I had to beg for Cocktail Sauce for the frozen heated up bland Shrimp, second negative thing, Desserts selection is now horrible and small, third negative thing, Food selection has shrunk, fourth negative thing. What we paid for we did not get for a family of four, fifth negative thing. Only positive thing I can say is a Golden Corral is the exact opposite of Old Country Buffet. Old Country Buffet just needs to shut down or restructure their menu. I will be recommending Golden Corral until Old Country Buffet gets their act together.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I remember loving this place in my younger years. Either OCB went DOWN or my palate got snobby. Seriously, I went here the last 2 times I visited WI and everything was way too salty. Absolutely no seasoning or flavor except salt. Everything tastes the same and is the same color. The only thing I love is the chocolate milk thing. I have no idea why... I think it's because it brings back memories of being 6 or 7 and being allowed to have unlimited cups of chocolate milk that one time. Plus, I love the grubby children running around touching and taste testing everything. And screaming. It's adorably precious. Gross, totally not wasting a night of dinner here ever again. :-(

It's usually just okay. It is to family meals what McDonalds is to burgers. A few Sundays ago my family and I went. There was no one to cut the ham or roast beef, no one to clean old plates off of the table, no ice...

  • Carl F.

OCB is a guilty pleasure-- the food tastes microwaved, but there's lots of it, and the cold salad bar is usually pretty good. In other word's, if I'm hungover and in the mood for lots of greasy food, Old Country Buffet usually doesn't sound like the worst idea in the world. This particular location, near a former workplace of mine, is pretty darn terrible. It's understaffed and dirty, and the tables are very crowded together. The patrons are pretty scary, too (the lady at the table next to mine spent half the meal cursing out her toddler, and the other half making out with her boyfriend.) I guess the long story short is that this place is pretty gross.

this is the best bargain in food around. so many choices. you can eat healthy or pig out. lots of beverage choices including excellent coffee and chocolate milk. a mexican food bar too. breakfast on weekends always a ttreat for me..try a waffle with strawberries and real whipped cream. just have to end my meal with bread pudding and a rice krispy treat...may even add a hot fudge sundae..happy to eat there..ask me to go anytime..arent we lucky to live in a country where we can get good food at a great price anytime..god bless america...

Attending a bday dinner for my nephew, he picked this place out of anywhere he could go for his birthday. Ok, he is a kid and obviously has not developed good taste yet. I was not looking forward to this evening of sub par food and lack of variety, I know this because I have been here before. Seems they have made some changes lately trying to compete with another buffet place that I think has taken much of their business away. They may have made changes but need to dig deeper. Before they think too hard, perhaps upping the quality of the food would be a good place to start. Tonight's experience: Fair. You had your choice of fried foods, stuffings, breads, pastas.... see a pattern here. Salad bar is pretty good. Had some meat choices other than just chicken and meatloaf so that was a plus. Overall, left feeling full but not very satisfied, more of a "just gave up" feeling.

Pulling up to this place I couldn't think why I hadn't had a meal here in more than a few years. Now I remember. When I was a teen in the 90's, I had a Wayne Campbell-esque collection of name tags and hair nets. This place was one of my many jobs, and I noticed walking up to the door that not only do they have a new general manager (and proprietor!), but his name is plastered right on the front door. Dude, you should take it down, this place is nothing to be proud of. You've let this place turn into a run down hunk of crap that more closely resembles a fifty year old gas station bathroom than an actual restaurant. At more than $13 per person for dinner when you are continually filling up the dining area (I have absolutely no idea why people continue to fill this place up), don't you think you could fix the two foot long gashes in the drywall, replace the chipping tiles or the carpets that I'm pretty sure where there when I worked here? This trip was made out of desperation. I barely ate all day and got super hungry, and my wife wanted some good veggie options. I exhausted every option that I could think of off the top of my head before I just gave up and said "You can get a salad at Old Country Buffet". Worst mistake ever. Kids, never leave the house without eating Breakfast. Otherwise this may happen to you. If you suffer from clinical depression, please do not step foot in here. If you are working hard to get into shape and you feel like you plateaued, you might want to stop in. I'm way out of shape, yet I feel like Adonis every time I step foot in here. What's with the restaurants in this general area? It's like a Bermuda Triangle of bad food and service! While I never really been in love with this place, I used to be able to find enough decent to good foods to get my money's worth. Those days are long gone. Forget zero stars, I'd give this place NEGATIVE five stars if I could. Boneless Barbecue Ribs with barely no meat or sauce on them, but a ton of rubbery fat. Slices of ham with tons of fat pieces on it and the meat is salted like it came off of a pirate ship. Dry cornbread. Even more dry cinnamon roll. Watery Mac N' Cheese. Stir fry that tastes like it came out of a can. Popcorn shrimp that were actually pretty decent, that is when there was actual shrimp inside the popcorn. Who doesn't love rubbery Jello? Cut up Cantaloupe with pieces of the rind not cut off. Leafy greens that seemed like they've sat in a sink full of dirty dishwater for the past week. Cherry tomatoes that were sitting next to rotted cherry tomatoes (in the buffet! You can't take the time to pull these out?). Fried fish that tasted like sardines wrapped in a slice of white bread and were stuck in a fryer. Meatloaf that tasted like grade school mystery meat with a thin layer of watery ketchup on top. Steamed carrots that were still hard (how do you screw up steamed carrots?). French Vanilla Cappuccino that tastes like someone added a small amount of sugar and a little cocoa to hot water. At least the Coca Cola tastes good. Can someone please get Courtny Gerrish to feature these guys on an edition of Dirty Dining?

Lunch costs $8.09 unless you're a senior, then it's less but they always have a mailbox coupon for $5.99 each. Outstanders were the meatloaf which was piping hot & good, as well as the carrot salad. For dessert, you can make a hot fudge sundae. If you want take out, you can fill one box for $4.99 which is still a lot of food. We were pleasantly surprised that this buffet was pretty good as also evidenced by a full house luncheon crowd with a mix of seniors, families, lunchers.
