My husband and myself both love going to Meyers. I like trying their new specials and never have been disappointed. We both enjoy the Friday fish fry. They are always well staffed with friendly servers. I call it a comfort food restaurant because of prices and amount of food served. Plenty of parking and well maintained entrance. You can start off with a drink before your meal in the quaint little bar where staff is always on their toes to serve you promptly.

I had my wedding reception here. The food and service was great. The only thing not great was the manager. He was a total jerk. He made us feel like it was a total hassle for him to do anything for us. Every time we talked to him he was very rude. I'm not sure I would recommend anyone to have an event here, unless you like dealing with rude managers.

Meyers is sort of your German style Greek family restaurant. There's nothing quite like it in Milwaukee other than the many Greek family restaurants with their extensive menus. Much of the fare is comfort food and there are many for whom this is a favorte place. Breakfasts are great, and lunches and dinners often have specials like pot pies and Sauerbraten that keep people coming. Some things these places (including the Greek family restaurants) don't do well, like stir-fries. They take a package of frozen vegetables and throw in some pre-made sauce and it doesn't come close to a fresh stir-fry at a Chinese restaurant. I would skip those. The broasted chicken is popular and the salads can be very good. We always find something to our liking.

We wanted to use this restaurant for catering for my Grandmother's funeral. They would not cater and deliver to the location of the funeral so we ordered the food in bulk and I was going to pick it up on my way to the service. No problem I understand they are limited with delivery areas. However it's what they e-mailed the funeral home in regards to my order that made me mad! My Grandmother LOVED Meyer's broasted chicken! All they had to do was pack it up in trays and let me pick it up. What happened after that was none of their business. Mike Meyer of Meyers suggested we go to cousins or schlotzsky's deli and order sandwiches chips and cookies or brownies, This is my Grandmothers funeral not a school picnic!!!!! I was very disappointed and will not be providing them with my patronage any longer. Just to give you an idea of what they were willg to throw away; we order 50 dinners @around $15 a piece. That is a tone of money and business of potential future customers to throw out the window, II have enclosed the e-mail below. Greg, I have attached our bulk menu below. After our conversation, I talked with Larry and we agreed that cold sandwiches and cookies or brownies from a deli would probably be a better choice. Hot food sitting out for an hour or more would not remain hot or up to our food safety standards. May I suggest Schlotzkys deli or Cousin's subs. If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know. Mike Meyer Meyer's Restaurant and Bar

Rude, Rude, Rude. We just attended a funeral luncheon in a private room for our Grandpa where they were very unwilling to add a table so that our family of six could sit together instead we were spread at random "open seats". Food was salty as was the staff. Standard mass produced food, very disappointed!

We booked our funeral banquet here, after my Godfather passed away. Booking was easy, and the staff was so kind and responsive. After a very long and trying week, it was wonderful to just sit and relax. Our server, Vickie, was so nice. She kept me informed of how the process worked so I could just visit with my family. The bartender was great. He made my brandy Old Fashioned and it was one of the better drinks I've had. I really appreciated it. The food was fantastic! Everyone raved about it, all of our guests were giving very positive feedback about the food, and there was plenty of it to go around (family style). The pricing was great, for 30 people I paid a little over $300 including gratuity. I doubt I could have gotten that pricing to go with that service and quality any where else! I'm so grateful to Meyer's for their help and wonderful service!

Great food, horrible service! Had a birthday dinner for our grandmother's 89th birthday. 32 people in our group. Had our own private room which was great. They gave us one waitress who sucked. Never asked us if we wanted anything other than the water that was on the table. I think she was incapable of smiling. Total downer. No wonder they include the tip in the bill with large groups. UPDATE: The more I think about this review the more upset I get. Our waitress really put a downer on our great evening. Because of her we will never be going back.

The weekend breakfast place landed me hare. This is in what looks like an abandoned mall and I thought the the place would not be there but it was. The place is pretty big and looks dated. The place was filled with older people and I was the youngest customer which was weird. The service was was good and at 7:30 I was seated promptly with the menu a minute later. I ordered the country combo with a side of ham to sample the breakfast items. After I received my food my server never came back and asked if everything was ok. I made the mistake of not waiting for my server to come back and I walked to the front desk to pay and I was told only my server can accept my payment and she disappeared with my credit card, I didnt like that. The combo was ham, bacon, sausage, two eggs and biscuits and gravy. The. Bacon was ok. The assuage links were average. The eggs were perfect sunny side up. The ham was real and not the loaf kind which is good. The biscuit and gravy was weird because the gravy was yellow looking with sausage over what looked 3 slices of biscuits. The grave was salty and it was chicken gravy they use which was weird. This is only the second time in my life that chicken gravy was passed off as country gravy and it ruins the whole dish.Over all the whole breakfast was just average and nothing special. The prices were good and maybe that's why all the older people were there. If the gravy was country white and not yellow I would have given 3 stars. This would not make my regulars list at all.

Meyers was the perfect place for our Birthday party for Diane's Mom. They handled our party of eight without a hitch. The food was great (especially the Broasted Chicken)! Our waitress was amazing and made the night very special. She treated us and especially Geri, like family. I am sorry I don't remember her name, but she went out of her way to make sure we had a memorable night. We will definitely be back. The Restaurant is easily wheelchair accessible.

After living in Dallas for over a decade, it's nice to find a mix of traditional plates and newer plates at good prices. The all-you-can-eat fried chicken for $8.95 should be protested by PETA because it's going to decimate the chicken population, it's so good. Everyone at our table ate something delicious that filled them up for under $10. I was on the younger side of the clientele age spectrum, but a true foodie will embrace that aspect of the experience.

Congratulations Meyers, four for four five star ratings for hosting my railroad club banquets these past two years! Saturday night was another terrific experience. Amazing food and exceptional service, thanks to "super server" Dawn, 35 and not a single complaint. I've handled arrangements for up to 300 people in past years and all I can say is "I wish I had Meyers!' In Milwaukee I'd go no where else to host an event. Thank you Larry, Mike and Dick, you sure know your business!

Went with a small group if seven people for breakfast. Each person was entirely satisfied with their meal. Food was hot and delicious. Coffee flowed due to Dawn our server. The price is right and we plan to come again for another breakfast. Great value.

Meyers is the small-town-feeling restaurant that everyone in the community goes to for breakfast in the morning. There is a line, and a wait, and all the waitstaff are walking around with pots of coffee to top-off each table as they pass by. I like it here. It is "Ma Fischeresque" in it's offerings, and presents itself as "American and European" in the food selection. It is small town. It is why Milwaukee is considered a big little city to so many of us, including myself. Neighborhoods here feel like small towns in their own right, although we call ourselves "Milwaukee." Of course, this probably has a lot to do with our claim to the highest segregation rates in the country - but I will spare you my depression inducing pondering. It's A-Ok. Meyers is what I consider mid-western. I've been a mid-westerner all my life, I know what it feels like. It's this.

Meyers is not what it used to be. Food is very average and can vary from tasteless to overly salty. We had a catered luncheon for a funeral that was ... in one word ... a disaster. Rude staff, inattentive and when asked to speak to a manager about numerous problems in an attempt to resolve- no one would come out to assist. Maybe the restaurant is better but would definitely not recommend for the catering.

I have to admit I come here alot, mainly because it is close and I have a friend who works here that I have come to know through the years from going. I do like certain specials they offer and certain soups and that is mainly what I go for. In general, a much older crowd, long time customers from first establishment have followed them through the years. Food is good and you get alot for the money. Have unique dishes you may not find other places, German food. Full house on Fridays for fish. Bar is very nice and I have used them several times for the halls for special occasions. The staff is very friendly and they are very accommodating. Atmosphere is clean and very relaxing. Great specials, check it out.

the food is good... servicers are nice ...the hall I would stay away from bad service and over packed , Friday's there's going to be wait given the ever popular fish fry they do waste a lot of food by bring out 3 dishes with garnishes without even asking I hate wasting food ..and they ran out of potato salad by 5pm ..umm.. its a german place will go back

Nothing great, nothing bad. Had the fish fry/chicken combo and potato pancakes. The fish was good, with the batter not being too thick or greasy. Chicken was tasty, as well. The potato pancakes were pretty bland, they could use lots more onion. Soup was good, service great. Friday is one of those days at Meyer's where it's irrelevant what time you arrive, there will be a wait. Total bill for 2 dinners with one beer and one iced tea-$27. Basic family restaurant, with OK food and good prices.

2nd Update: I picked up my father in law, and then my grandson and the three of us headed to Meyers cause it was close to the last pick up (we're 74, 64 and 5 yrs old). What was I thinking when I ordered "bisquits and gravy". Oh gosh it was not good AT ALL. They also shorted me on the American fries... My grandson's burger and fries of the childrens menu was $3.99 and then he had a drink on top of that. Not exactly kiddy prices. I really think this place does good business because it attracks a older local crowd, and if you get to know what to order they do an ok job of it. Service was OUTSTANDING, we had the nicest waitress, and others were gracious too. If I hadn't ordered bisquits and gravy maybe I would have uped it to 3 stars just because of this.

I had the all you can eat pressure fried chicken dinner for $8.95. The chicken was among the best fried chicken that I have ever had and it is all made fresh to order. The dinner comes with soup or salad, sesame seeded bread/butter, potato salad, sweet and sour bean salad and homemade cole slaw. It feels like you are in a nursing home or hospital dining room, but the food is so good and reasonably priced. The mood of this restaurant is very casual and quiet. The service is very friendly.

My son, who now lives in Boston MA, wanted a German meal before jetting back east. (Can't get that in BOS!) Meyer's was on the way to Mitchell Field so we went there. Soup was chicken kluski--lots of chicken, nice noodles. He had the sauerbraten with red cabbage and a dumpling; so did I. The sauerbraten was SUPERB!!! Meat was fall-apart tender and nicely spiced. Red cabbage and dumpling very good. My wife had the Polish stuffed cabbage and pierogi--She said it was better than OK; pierogi were a little tough. For dessert they split a schaum torte which they liked. I had apple strudel which was very good; apple pieces a little crisp and a tiny bit tart. Crust a little too moist (though nice and flaky), and I'd have liked a little more whipped cream, but that's kind of picky. Service was attentive and prompt; couldn't ask for much better. No part of the order was mistaken. Glad we went to Meyer's, and we will definitely be back there. The posted daily specials were intrigueing, and the waitress described the Friday fish fry in terms that sounded well above average for a MKE restaurant fish fry.
