Visited here for the first time not knowing what to expect. We were delighted with the prices, especially that the rice came as part of the order. :) Very fast service, we sat down and the guy who took our order came out to every customer with their order once it was ready - nice touch for us. The food itself was very tasty, I had beef teriyaki, my husband had the chicken List of User stories for Bug Bash. We had some gyoza also. Both of us were pleased. There is also a salad which we aren't fussed about. But alot of food for your money, so we were happy! Will definitely go back.

Teriyaki is all about portion. It appears that they changed owner, and the new owner understands what the customers want - large portion, if you gonna charge that much for teriyaki. I hope the portion never change, or else it'll be like any other teriyaki shop.

I am a fan of this place. The lunch special comes out to $7.50 with tax. I tend to call my order in because its always so busy. The veggies are always fresh and it seems they give you a lot more then regular teriyaki places. Who can complain about that!?! The only bummer about this place is they dont have a punch card because well.. lets be honest, who doesnt like being rewarded for being a loyal customer!?! nom nom.

I LOVE Niko Teriyaki! Gosh I miss it.... I used to work pretty close by and ordered every week. The customer service is fantastic! I was always greeted with a warm smile and given great customer service. It is located in the same parking lot as a bank and a grocery store and many other stores... during lunch or holidays the parking lot gets packed! If you're on a short lunch break just beware that you might be looking for a parking spot for a little while. The portions are VERY generous and oh so delicious! I always have enough leftover for lunch the next day. The salad dressing is very good and the teriyaki sauce is perfect. Whenever i'm in Redmond I stop at Niko Teriyaki - it is that good!

They really have amazing customer service. The owner already knows what I want. My food has alway been delicious and hot. Amazing chili sauce. I recommend them as the best in their area. So if you want yummy teriyaki go to niko's

Friendly and quick service, a TV to watch while eating, and slightly above average teriyaki.

I have been coming to niko teriyaki for around 10 years. I've tried every dish on the menu. This is without a doubt the best Terriyaki I have ever had, and now open on Sunday's!

The teriyaki is great!!! I was disappointed with the other bogus teriyaki locations in town so I decided to try this place out. Niko is definitely the best teriyaki in Redmond. The fried rice is also amazing. The price is a little bit steep but one portion can feed 2 people.

This place has been here for years, and they do it right. They even moved across the parking lot when Trader Joe's came in. I love it when a place holds onto its spot in a neighborhood like that. I hope the landlord hooked them up with a break whenever that happened. I used to work right down in this part of Redmond and ate at the old location a few times. What they have now is a tidily laid out yaki joint that covers all the basics with no wasted space. Tables and chairs that easily move around for larger parties, a flat screen, a cooler full of Sobe and whatnot, one bathroom tucked around a corner, and just enough counter space to sign your credit card receipt. It's easy to imagine that a yaki veteran mapped out the perfect minimum square footage to succeed and came up with this. The chicken breast is juicy and cooked, and chopped, to order. No dry nuggets sitting around in a warming drawer. There's brown rice, but the stock vegetable side is an iceberg mix with ranch. Boo. Gotta check and see if they will upgrade you to steamed veg. The extra spicy is truly extra spicy, gives you a good sweat. Prices are fair, and service is crisp and pleasant. Could have done without the corny dude at the next table on his cell phone going on and on and on about exactly what he wanted you to wear tomorrow for your date, but that's certainly not Niko's fault.

Best Teriyaki in Redmond, hands down. Always huge portions and tasty. Nothing fancy but hits the spot.

I've been wanting to find some good Teriyaki on the Eastside for years now (been living in downtown Bellevue for over 3 years), but have always been too afraid to try anywhere! (And now I know why...) I finally got the courage last night to try somewhere new. My fellow Yelpers, I'm sorry, but your taste buds are off here on this place. I ordered the chicken breast teriyaki and needless to say I won't be going back. It was drenched in super sweet, high sodium sauce and the chicken was chewy, and had a bad consistency to it. It tasted more like dark meat than it did chicken breast. And some were thick and chewy, others were thin and tough. The serving of rice was decent though, considering I don't waste any calories on the infamous teriyaki salads. The gentleman at the counter was nice, but as I looked into the back, I saw two cooks who looked quite unhappy to be there. Overall, it was pretty bad, close to some of the worst teriyaki I've had and I won't be going back. There are plenty of other venues to try, or I'll just drive back to Seattle.

Nothing fancy, but there food is good. I was also pleased to see that they had good vegetarian and vegan options.

Ordered chx teriyaki w/yakisoba noodles. Got yakisoba noodles w/chx & rice w/a small container of teriyaki sauce on the side. When I called to have the order fixed he kept saying he didn't understand & that he can't make yakisoba w/o chicken & then hung up on me. I had to cb & he finally agreed to give my money back.

This is your run-of-the-mill Teriyaki place. Cheap and tasty and across the street from mine and many other's apartment. I don't know how you could either love it or hate it. Its a teriyaki place just like all of the others. It seems sanitary and not too greasy. Its weird some people have such strong opinions of this place.

  • Paul S.

I love teriyaki. Yeah, I know the stuff they offer around Seattle and vicinity under the teriyaki moniker is hardly authentic Japanese cuisine. Truth be told, it is more often than not an Americanized version of Korean barbecue - not surprising since the teriyaki joints are usually run by Koreans - but I'm no purist when it comes to food. Good is good, no matter what the origin or the label. And Redmond's Niko Teriyaki is VERY good. Went to Niko for the first time yesterday during the lunch hour. Nothing particularly special about the ambiance, but the lunch special was incredible. Generous portions of chicken, rice, and salad. And if you're someone like me, whose taste buds were permanently transformed by years of hot Korean food, you will not be disappointed if you request the number three level of spiciness. Additionally, out of concern for my health, I prefer brown rice to white rice, and there was no problem with that substitution. Really, there's nothing not to like about Niko. Nice staff, great food. I'm thrilled to find a new place where I can get my teriyaki fix.

Niko's has the best chicken teriyaki! Huge portions (my husband and I share one plate and still have some left) and the chicken is beyond delicious. Great service and crazy fast!

    (5)
  • Tiffany N.

I recommend the chicken and gyoza. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable.

    (4)
  • Kristen S.

Cheap, delicious (especially leftover), and huge portions. Teriyaki was slightly sweeter than my preference (thus, the -1 star), but overall a tasty and fun experience.

I tried this place a few nights ago for the first time and notice it every time I'm at Trader Joe's and Pharmaca. I didn't see spicy chicken on the menu and asked for that. The woman said she could do that. When I tasted it there wasn't any spice at all (or to the level I like). So I grabbed the Sriracha sauce and squirted it generously over my chicken. Mmmmmm....much better. The salad was the standard side with a thin ranch-style dressing. Generous portions of chicken and rice. Very good. Parking there is often a pain due to Trader Joe's but the night I was there it was easy to park.

This place is consistently AMAZING and we refuse to go elsewhere! The portion sizes are crazy big, the prices have stayed the same even after they moved into a much nicer location and the ranch sauce...oh the ranch sauce! They make it in house and refuse to give me the recipe but it's all good...just keeps em' coming back for more! Their tempura is crazy good and everything is always well cooked, tastier than heck and mouth watering tender. We moved from Redmond to Snohomish a few years back and anytime we even *think* we will be in town we make a stop here. The owners are super nice and we actually ran into them at a bowling alley in Lynnwood where they greeted us with a smile and remembered what we always order. I wasn't lying when I told you we will ONLY eat here when it comes to teriyaki and you should too!

  • Stu H.

I was really surprised how good Niko was when my family and I headed over for a quick dinner. Their menu is the standard affair for this type of restaurant, but I was very surprised how well cooked everything was. The chicken was actually still moist. I can't remember if I've ever had perfectly cooked chicken at at Teriyaki restaurant before. The facility is clean and the staff very friendly, so it is the perfect joint for some delicious teriyaki if you have a craving.

Great place for teriyaki lunch. Can't beat their tasty Thursday teriyaki chicken and tonkatsu lunch special for $7. The food comes hot really fast. Great service. Not many tables, so expect take out during lunch rush.

  • Terry C.

Not a huge fan if the Katsu chicken like I've seen a lot of people rant and rave about, but the teriyaki beef is to die for and I'm not normally one to choose the beef over the chicken. I wish their "spicy" was spicier though.

    (5)
  • Allie S.

I work like five minutes away and when I'm feeling thrifty I can get three or four meals worth of food from Niko for ~$7. When I say I'm going -- my car is full, everyone loves this place. And although the portions are impressive, thankfully the taste is pretty damn good as well. Fresh, flavorful and not dried out chicken is in and of itself a rarity -- but at Niko, it's the norm. I've only managed to eat their three star spicy chicken once -- and even that was over the course of days, because that spice DEFINITELY is a multiplier. I love spice and it was bordering spice overkill for me -- I'm happy enough to stick with the two star. The staff is friendly and efficient and generally I'm on my way back to work with what feels like a fifteen pound box of spicy chicken teriyaki [with a token iceburg lettuce salad] in what feels like a few minutes.

  • Eric K.

I have a particular teriyaki joint that I always compare my teriyaki places too. I enjoyed Niko's, but the chicken was over sauced and a little "too much." Can't complain for the price, but it just wasn't as refined as the best teriyaki joint I've enjoyed time after time, after time. Tempura was soggy and the sauce was store bought, not made in house. Appreciated the short time that it took to actually get the food out.

the best teriyaki around. Where else can you feed a family of four for under 15 dollars Get the meat on the rice so you can savor the flavors of the meal. The portions are huge and always fresh You can buy a large bottle of the salad dressing for $5 The chicken is moist egg rolls are crisp sald is fresh and crunchy

Whenever my family wants a treat, we get take-out from Niko Teryaki. We've been coming here for years, when they used to be located by the barbershop across the parking lot (between the QFC and Trader Joe's, now). As mentioned in many reviews, the portions are large, and the food is fresh. I always get the chicken yakisoba, which comes with tons of veggies and chicken and yakisoba noodles, in teryaki sauce. Hubby always orders the teryaki chicken. Yes, the salads are plain, consisting only of lettuce, but we enjoy them as the ranch dressing is good.

  • Rob L.

Not the best Teriyaki I've had but not the worst. I've been here a handful of times because they are across the street from where I live. PROS: The Teriyaki chicken is tender like it should be, rice is soft and warm, they don't charge for extra sauce to go, the prices are better than others in the area, they are super fast at getting your food out, and the counter person is friendly. CONS: The salad dressing is basically mayonnaise, good thing they don't charge for extra sauce to go because you hardly get any in the box, the meat portions vary depending on when you show up, the chicken katsu is flat, there is not enough seating during lunch time, don't even get me started with the difficult parking situation... Even with all of the cons, I still recommend it if you're looking for average Teriyaki. If you're looking for the best, keep looking.

  • Frank G.

I went there for lunch today and ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki; It was not spicy at all! Even my 9-year-old daughter, who thinks that black pepper is too spicy, tried it and agreed that it wasn't spicy. Plus, the chicken was tough. My daughter enjoyed her tempura though so Niko got 3 stars. Note to cook: learn what spicy means. We'll probably not go back.

  • Mark L.

Been eating here pretty consistently for the last 2 years and the food is ALWAYS on point! The lunch special is very reasonably priced and the spicy chicken/katsu combo on Thursdays always pleases. If it says anything I was on a mainly chicken and fish diet and managed to eat at Niko 5 days out of the week for about 2 months till I got burned out on the diet but not the food! I'd suggest take out due to the lack of seating in the place but the food and portions will keep you coming back!

    (4)
  • Ryan H.

This is place is great and I eat lunch here about once a week. I tend to get the chicken teriyaki without rice (they give extra salad) or the chicken stir-fry Pro tip: check your takeout orders before leaving. I've gotten the wrong order from them several times, including the box I just opened 5 min ago.

  • Erich T.

NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY Niko has good food, but they do not offer any of their daily specials with vegetarian options. This is important as they are significantly more expensive than other teriyaki in the area

    (1)
  • Kailey O.

Hands down BEST Teriyaki in Redmond! Can't beat the lunch special or anything else on the menu! The portions are huge...like 2 servings huge! I do wish they had the typical Teriyaki salad dressing though! But the ranch is good too! It's always ready when you get there too!

Oh my Lord, if anybody makes addictive Teriyaki, it's Niko Teriyaki. I've been getting Teriyaki here since 2007, and I've always loved it. They will substitute brown rice for me instead of white, and crunchy, stir-fried vegetables instead of rice for those times I want to be more healthy. :) The chicken is perfectly tender, and the sauce is the best Teriyaki I've found in the area. To sum it up, I'd say that you should stop reading reviews and go grab some Niko Teriyaki.

  • Food L.

Small take-out joint. It was very clean and people were very friendly. I agree, portions are huge, and price for the portion is pretty good. I order the spicy teriyaki chicken, but I'm not sure where the spiciness was. It mostly tasted like teriyaki. I also ordered yaki soba, it was pretty good, and it even came with big portion of rice. I would go back when I feel lazy to cook, just pick up couple items and eat for several meals!

  • Alex F.

Love it. Nice, easy, generic teriyaki. Nothing stands out about this place, nothing puts it above any other teriyaki i've had, but it sure is tasty. This place is an easy go-to.

  • Chrystal C.

Best terriyaki on the eastside. I have it for lunch once or twice a week. They are fast, the food is fresh and tasty, the service is fantastic and the bathroom is the cleanest public restroom I've ever seen! It's always like that, too. The only thing I'd change is the lack of consistency with the whole spicy-star thing. One day 2 starts will be great, then the other it'll send me to the moon and back...I had to rinse my chicken and beef off in the sink one day because of it! I just order 1 star now and it seems to be more consistent.

I've had a lot of teriyaki between being a college student at the UW, a gym rat, and being raised in an Asian rice-eating home. So the tricks of the trade are not lost on me. Thinly sliced chicken. Extra mounds of rice under the meat for elevated presentation. Niko teriyaki doesn't use any of these coy tricks of the teriyaki world. Just simple huge proportions with savory flavor. I wish I could say this is definitely the "tastiest teriyaki in town" as they advertise, it has a full flavor to it for a simple filling dinner, but I still have to try more teriyaki places in Redmond. The brown rice is the broken grain style which is a plus since its soft even for being brown rice. The meat is never ending and tender (b/c they bake their meats in addition to grilling i suspect) which some purists might not want in place of heavy grill lines and over cooked leather chicken. The salad is dressed with a heavy country style ranch. Overall I really like this place and reserve my teriyaki cravings to when I am in redmond. Prices are a little higher than what you see in the U-dist but they give almost 3 times the amount of meat. Not open on sundays.

Worst service! The waitress spilled food on me then just stood there. I had to yell at her to "at least get some water." No apology, no offer of free food. NOTHING! I will never go back.

  • DTronics T.

Friendly and fast service. Large portions for a fair price. Clean and sanitary.Good flavor. Sauce was not too sweet and was not thick like other places ive been. Would have liked more of a Asian type dressing rather than ranch for my salad.

  • Bryce C.

I was thrilled with how tasty my meal was. It was fast, fairly priced, large portions and delicious! Some of the best dumplings I've had and the chicken was perfectly done. At $7.45 for Chicken Teriyaki and 3 Gyoza dumplings, plus a side salad and rice, you can't go wrong!

If I was ever going to make a movie that was set in a teriyaki place and I wanted to portray the archetypal teriyaki establishment, I would create a small space with a few black plastic tables and chairs arranged hapharzardly with at least one or two topped with the scattered remenants of yesterday's newspaper. The walls would be covered with some fake looking wood laminate that is vaguely reminiscent of cherry or pine or some other tree you'd expect to see in the far east, and a big backlit menu with a few washed out pictures of the dishes would be placed on the wall above the counter. The counter itself would be small and narrow, slightly messy, with a cash register, some white stacking plastic bins containing little plastic containers of teriyaki sauce and/or sriracha, plastic cutlery, chopsticks, napkins. The top of the counter would have a few more washed out pictures slipped into clear plastic slipcovers - the kind that you put in binders - taped down so they don't move, and splattered with teriyaki sauce, meat and veggie drippings, and perhaps a little dried up soda. Just off to one side of the counter is where the soda machine sits, filled with a variety of leading soda brands. Perhaps there would be a widescreen television hanging on another wall tuned to ESPN. The clientele would be a mix of nerdy young guys picking up food before heading off to play some Warhammer or Super Smash Brothers Melee, harried soccer moms attemping to order in between coralling their impatient and hungry children, a lonely looking older guy wearing a wife beater teeshirt and a Harley Davidson leather vest, and of course a happy, friendly middle aged Asian man with glasses wearing a Ralph Lauren polo shirt and dockers. So, hopefully you see the word picture I'm trying to paint here. This is a teriyaki place just like a thousand other teriyaki places all around the greater Seattle area. The food is good, not great, and even though their menu doesn't specifically say it, you can get just about anything that you can get with meat with tofu instead. The portions are huge, and my to-go container was crammed so full that it didn't close properly. But I did eat everything, and I did enjoy everything that I ate, so I will definitely be back.

As a visitor to Redmond I went to Niko after seeing some great reviews they got on yelp. A four star rating is awesome and I went in hoping for some great teriyaki! On arrival I crossed my fingers and hoped that it wasn't going to be a take out chinese kinda place as i wanted to dine in with a friend. But it was a chinese take out kinda place with a couple of dumpy tables and a cash register in the back. When we walked in the guy behind the counter was a bout to fall asleep and would give ordering customers the weirdest faces as he looked them up and down and stared at them. So I got the chicken teriyaki and it came out by the time I sat down at a table four feet away. The meal consists of the chicken teriyaki (a lot of it), sticky rice (not nearly an appropriate proportion to the large amount of chicken), and a side of salad. The chicken had good flavor but the quality of the meat was pretty bad. The whole time I found myself sorting through the chicken trying to find pieces that I would eat. The white rice was good... but if you can't make white rice you have bigger problems. I was excited to eat some salad and was expecting some sort of ginger dressing or something remotely asian. It was ranch dressing squirt on some lettuce. The food wasn't terrible but it is what is, a mediocre teriyaki take out joint.

Gasp!! This place is on the list but has been neglected?! Gasp, gasp, gasp!! But then again, its not so delicious or particularly remarkable, so I suppose it can be easily overlooked. Niko Teriyaki is hidden away behind a supplements store, next to QFC across from the buildings housing my preferred Kikuya. However, when you are in high school and don't really know better and just want really cheap food, really fast - you follow the rumors. And the rumors took me all the way to Niko's. Frankly, I've never ever seen people really order teriyaki here. Everybody usually gets ... yakisoba. Its not over seasoned, nor under seasoned. Its not spicy nor sweet nor salty. Its just a little of everything which may be why it appeals to so many people. Plus, you can just load on the spicy hot sauce if you want. The portions ... are huge. I'm not kidding. Granted, it may cost about 6 bucks (and they may have raised the prices since the last time I went there), but expect the Ave portions here - it is literally a mound of yakisoba. And don't forget the two little rice balls hidden underneath all the noodles. The place itself isn't anything memorable, plastic tables, with even less memorable chairs. The chairs are in fact, so unmemorable it seems that I've forgotten what they look like. The plates are mismatched - I swear, if you order three different dishes, they will literally come on three different dishes. And although it may be a little odd, its strangely...homey. I guess, if you're in the neighborhood (i.e. picking groceries up) you might as well drop by here and grab something quick to eat. Or just to take home for the kids.

Looking for good teriyaki in Redmond?? Niko is open again! After a hiatus due to being relocated by the Trader Joe construction, Niko Teriyaki is back open and now located in the new building south of Trader Joe's where Pizza Hut used to be. Some might say that teriyaki is hard to mess up, but I've experienced it messed up. Niko has been one of the best teriyaki restaurants I've discovered. The food is consistently good, ample portions, prices are fair, and the owner/operator is a very very nice family. It's not meant to be fine dining, so for a bento box style teriyaki take out or eat in, I'm glad Niko is back open again.

Alas. Another business bites the dust... I tried going two weeks ago, and they were closed due to a family emergency. I tired to go yesterday on the way to work, and the entire section they were in was gutted with fences all around... Niko, you will be missed. I ended up getting Thai, but I was really hankering for that good ol' Niko... :'( Update: After writing this I got a message telling me they would be back in the old pizza hut building. Not sure if I'll still be around to give them a try then tho...

One of three great teriyaki places in the Redmond area, the other 2 are Yummy and Himitszu teriyaki. This place has great food, if you order anything spicy they offer some tasty dressing to dip it in. This place has moved since 2010, but only to the other side of the block where parking is better( right across the parking lot from Trader Joes)

  • Hailee G.

Niko's is so delicious!!! The best teryiaki I have had on the eastside!! The portions are HUGE and the price isn't bad either. I got the white chicken teriyaki and it was amazing!!! The sauce was delicious, the rice was fluffy and the salad wasn't bad either. I can't wait to try more things on their menu in the future!

After moving to Redmond, I'm slowly rebuilding my list of "where to eat" places. Niko's is on that list I'm happy to say. I scoured yelp for reviews of all the local eateries. My gf and I decided to go with Teriyaki, as its usually a safe choice. I was out and decided not to drive all the way across town for food, so I went with Niko's. Got a great 15 minute ONLY parking place right in front of the place. The restaurant was brightly lit and had business so I knew I was on the right track. Upon entering, it smelled good. Really good in fact. The menu board is your standard Teriyaki menu, with maybe one or two other items. I was a chef for 10+ years, so before I start to order the fun food to try, I usually try to get the spicy chicken teriyaki just to get an idea of the quality. I ordered one spicy chicken and one regular to go. The owner, I'm assuming he was the owner, was nice. Not very talkative, but seemed genuine. He quoted me 10 minutes for the wait. Well, 3 minutes later I had my food and was headed out the door. BIG KUDOS for that! Arrived home, acquired beer, and got busy. My gf's first observation was about the salad and how it was packaged in its own container. I mean, after all, a warm salad sucks. She was also tickled about getting ranch as the dressing. My first impression was when I opened the chicken. "Wow, that box sure is full!". They give you PLENTY of rice, which I'm pointing out because this was definitely a two meal portion of chicken! The chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful. Oh, and when you order spicy, its got a decent burn to it. They do it right, and not just slather it with cock sauce. My gf loved hers too! To summarize, Nikos is great. The restaurant smells good, its really super clean, and is open until 9pm. The takeout is wonderful, fast, and will satisfy the pickiest eaters. They missed a fifth star only because I wanted something a bit more exciting as far as Teriyaki sauce goes, but thats more me than Nikos. Two thumbs up!

My boyfriend eats here all the time and I finally experienced the Nikos he's been raving about for months. Ive tried their spicy and terriyaki chickens, and like them both...which is saying alot because I am not really a terriyaki fan. The ranch sauce they have is the good and thick kind. The place is small, but its just a hole-in-the-wall terriyaki joint. If you're around the area I definitely recommend Nikos if you're craving some 'yaki. Word to the wise: 1 star on the spicy is pretty darn spicy. Portions are huge- the two times Ive been here I had leftovers for another meal.

We were hungry one day and thought to give this new place a try.... Sadly we were underwhelmed. Had the chicken katsu and beef teriyaki... The katsu could have been more moist... Beef was actually decent. If youre in the area then its maybe worth a shot to help support small local business, but not sure I would make the effort to come back.

Take your dice and let em roll when it comes to Niko. I've had great chicken teriyaki here, and awful chicken. Their spicy chicken has ranged from absolutely mild, to inedible. Since they've relocated I've been maybe 10-15 times and I've thought it was good enough to come back, last week though I had chicken that was 100% dried out and I could not finish. Sadly I think that was enough to push me over the edge to not coming back.

Great Food, Fast Service! I love to go here all the time!

  • Matthew D.

Definitely my favorite teriyaki place in Redmond. The service is typical: walk in, quick order, quickly made. If you eat in, they will bring your food to your table. Staff is very friendly, possibly a bit too friendly (always making sure to say goodbye and thank you when you exit the door). The restaurant is clean beyond my standards. I'm really not too picky as long as it is not dirty and there are no bugs crawling on the walls, but Niko is certainly on the cleaner side. It is nice and bright inside, and if you eat-in you can watch the big screen television on the wall. The food is very hard to describe. After eating her consistently for months, the food can only be described by its consistency. They must have 2 separate cook's; Your chicken will either be cooked to perfection (by the good cook), or it will be slightly tougher and charred (by the bad cook). It is important to point out, however, that even when the bad cook is in the kitchen - the food is BY NO MEANS bad. It is simply less tender and more on par with your typical teriyaki restaurant. I love spicy food, but i order non-spicy because they are equally as inconsistent with their 1-3 star spiciness scale. Plus, when you order it spicy it completely changes to flavor. Instead i just use the chili paste and spice it on my own. Their teriyaki sauce is good, however i don't add any additional sauce to my chicken. Occasionally i will dip my chicken in the Ranch! (the American way!) which believe it or not, is quite good. The portions are huge and the lunch special is always 7$ on the dot, tax included. Since i work out, the portions are absolutely perfect. A nice 2000 calories in a box. I don't have the specials memorized but i believe Monday is Gyoza, Tuesday is Eggroll, and Thursday is Katsu. They typically give you an entire order of chicken teriyaki + the special. What i mean is, they don't give you less chicken simply because you get the special. However, sometimes on Katsu Thursday, they will give you less (again, inconsistent). They give you a side salad with your meal. Although they don't have any Asian dressing, their ranch is quite good. It is pretty much a heavy buttermilk ranch with a hint of garlic. Some people complain about it and call it "mayonnaise" because they have clearly never experienced real ranch. They must be used to that sour non-buttermilk wishbone dressing that is so popular everywhere else. I can't even choke that stuff down. 4/5 stars. -1 for the inconsistency. I know that it may seem sort of like a gamble, which may scare some of you away, but when it is good - MAN is it good. Plus, this helps explain the mixed reviews. The inconsistency doesn't prevent me from eating here 2-3 times a week.

Best Teriyaki in Redmond and they are fast! You can even order ahead. To go and phone orders are packed with all the goodies. Meals are large and they have a great menu.

I have been a customer for over 10 years and I keep coming back for more. The portions are massive and the prices are reasonable (they used to be a lot cheaper!) The unique thing about Niko is that the teriyaki is not drizzled over the meat; instead it is tossed much like a charbroiled stir fry. My favorite teriyaki place around town!

Niko Teriyaki is conveniently located in DT Redmond, in the QFC/Trader Joe's Parking lot. The food is not cheap, but the portions are huge. 3 of us ate there last night, and the bill was $27, including tax. We had 1 order of shrimp chow mein, 1 chicken stir-fry, and 1 teriyaki chicken. I don't eat chicken, but my daughter said the teriyaki chicken was awesome. She had enough leftover from dinner to eat it again for lunch today. My boyfriend liked the chicken stir-fry, but it was not the best he has ever had. Now....the chow mein. The portion was large, but there was only 4 shrimp!! 4! The noodles had good flavor, but they were super greasy. I don't think I will ever order the noodles again. We will probably go back because of the convenient location and because my daughter likes the chicken teriyaki.

ThisTeriyaki place was not good. After seeing a few people review this place with 4 stars I had my hopes up but this place is just dissapointing. I got the shrimp tempura plate which came with rice, 4 shrimp tempura, a few pieces of veggie tempura, and a salad. It cost $9.75 without a drink. The tempura was horrible... mushy and tasteless. The salad was also really bad mostly because the dressing was really thick and tasted like a mix between ranch dressing and something else. The dining room was bright and clean and the employees seemed nice though. Unfortunately, for the cost and the taste it just wasn't that good. I won't be going back anytime soon.

For a teriyaki place. this place did give good portions. I was very full and satisfied afterwards. The meat was very tender and well marinated. Comes with salad too, but I wish it was the asian ginger type dressing instead of ranch. but that is just personal preference. I rate this 5 stars since its the best one I've been to so far in the area.

The portion is HUGE!!! It's easily 2 meals size. Price is reasonable. The only complaint I have is the parking situation. It's so hard to find a parking spot in that shopping plaza!

Niko is temporarily closed while they renovate the mall. It will open again in about three months.

$7 for chicken & gyoza for their lunch specials on certain days. I love how every day is something different, and they have a helpful website that tells you which days are which. I was a bit skeptical to try this teriyaki joint in Redmond, but this place is yummy for lunch. Very busy during lunch hours but they do have sauces on the side for you to eat as you please with as much hot sauce or teriyaki sauce as you please! Their portion size is huge, lots of rice and chicken and it is very tasty! Prices that are not specials are a bit pricey, but I'd expect it so in this neighborhood. Otherwise, great service and friendly people!

This is a review of dinner with my brother at Niko Teriyaki. tinyurl.com/ma22fts First, I must say the guy working the front of the house was super friendly. He was also very effective. The ambiance is basic, plain, and functional. While the restaurant was not overly dirty, the floor could have used a general sweep and scrub. tinyurl.com/kjgplzl Alas, the food ranged from mediocre to poor. Chicken & Tempura Combo - The chicken was a little hard. The flavour was pretty much what I would expect from bottled teriyaki sauce. The tempura was almost inedible. There was a strong flavour of oil. The breading wasn't quite done and didn't adhere to the vegetables. The rice had a taste as if it had been sitting around for awhile. The salad was very basic, lettuce with a dab of dressing. The portion was large. tinyurl.com/jwefcgx Gyoza - We shared a ten piece order of gyozas. They were bland. tinyurl.com/k7se8q5 Steak teriyaki - My brother had the steak teriyaki. The meat was overcooked. tinyurl.com/kfl9hbf Overall - For me, I simply didn't think the food was enjoyable enough to warrant a return visit. It was a bit quantity over quality.

Very good food, excellent service. Have been going here for years and the food has always been delicious. Their portions are also very generous. I can usually manage two meals out of one takeout. Highly recommended!

Great service, portions are awesome, chicken is not dry and price is perfect. Can't beat their daily specials for around 7 bucks! I have been to other teriyaki joints where that same price you get dried chicken and way smaller portions. Good job Niko portion price control is perfect!

While in rush hour traffic in Washington state, one thinks about nothing but food. We were in search of Fred Meyer, and ended up in the Trader Joes parking lot. Decided to stop in here for a bite first. For a very small establishment, the food was wonderful, well priced for the location, and they gave you healthy portions. The gentleman at the counter was incredibly nice, and helpful. Definitely would recommend. Get the tempura, or the combo platters.

The place stinks like crazy and it's dirty - look at the kitchen curtain ... I fear for my health after eating here. The teriyaki is dry and has a weird taste to it, the rice is mushy... If you gave 3 stars or more to this, have you ever tried acacia teriyaki ????

Second straight week of eating teriyaki for lunch. Niko Teriyaki is a small teriyaki joint in the strip mall that Trader Joe's in Redmond is located. It actually relocated to a new building from the original location where Trader Joe's is now. Apparently this teriyaki place is known for its large portions. I got the lunch special which is $7 total. The special was written on a small sheet of paper, so I think that it changes daily. Today's special is the #24, teriyaki chicken and katsu. Indeed the size of the meal was very large. I could not finish it, so I am saving the rest of it for later. The salad it came with is hardly one. It is just mostly lettuce. The dressing was of the predictable ranch type. As for the meal, it was kind of meh. Hence the two stars. The portions are definitely large, but the taste was just barely on the okay side. Not sure what type of katsu the entree had. It tasted like pork. Not much of to speak with this. It was edible. The teriyaki chicken is decent. Still, I would prefer if teriyaki joints would just serve the chicken in whole rather than cutting it into pieces. It seems to be more enjoyable for me that way. I will say that this is not bad teriyaki. It just is not good either. Though I would say this place is worth a try if you are looking for teriyaki and large portions.

There is a little sign on the back of the restaurant stating "best Teriyaki in Redmond". Would you agree, Zach? I'm not sure it's the best. But it is a good deal. For $8 it is a daunting task to reach the end of your order in one sitting, right Zach? We've become regulars and always end up ordering the Katsu and Teriyaki. An intimidating pile looms before us every time, and the battle is always a loss. The Katsu is done right and crispy - the perfect counterpart to the moist teriyaki chicken. The sauce is sweet and not over-powering, which for those like us is a nice detail, right Zach? And if that isn't the case, there is certainly plenty of sauce to spread around, from the rice to the salad. Speaking of, the salad isn't half bad, is it Zach? Give the egg rolls a shot too. If you're lucky, your dish of choice might be a lunch special, which yields a lesser price. Chances are you'll want it anyway, right Zach? Niko's is an excellent choice for lunch of dinner, and is a convenient option for take out. And unless you are ravenous, you will probably have leftovers.

Poo...I wished I lived closer to Redmond. Hands down my favorite yaki place on the Eastside. They are quick, always friendly and not stingy with the hot sauce or salad dressing. The portions are huge and always leaves me with leftovers. They have a variety of items to choose from and everything I have had there left my belly full and happy.

I'm not a huge teriyaki fan, but everything I had here was delicious. I think the best part of Niko is the portion size- super generous for about the same price as any other teriyaki place in the area. The chicken stir-fry is super tasty, with lots of veggies and tasty sauce. And the leftovers were just as awesome :D The only thing I didn't like was the dressing that came with the little salad- instead of the sweet watery stuff I usually get from teriyaki places, this was a thick ranchy dressing that just wasn't as good. But whatever, the meat is what matters and THAT was delicious!

This is one of only few places I go to when I get a hankering for teriyaki. The portion size is MASSIVE. I usually order a lunch special ($7 after tax) and eat it for 2 days. The salad (iceberg lettuce and some carrot strings and red cabbage) that it comes with is very simple and not very exciting. Their gyoza is deep fried. However, I don't go to Niko Teriyaki for the salad or gyoza. If you want teriyak and are hungry, this is the place for you!

My better half and I got take out from Niko Teriyaki last night. I must admit, I've never been a huge fan of teriyaki in general, but I had a craving and after seeing endless people at work consuming meals from Niko's, I thought I might as well give it a try. I got the chicken breast teriyaki and two egg rolls. I'm a huge fan of spring rolls, the deep fried kind, but egg rolls sounded pretty good. I've had many egg rolls in my day, and was very happy to find out that Niko's egg rolls were very tasty! Not too soft, not too burnt and not cold at all, which is almost unheard of in my past experiences. When I got to the chicken breast teriyaki, I thought it was delicious! I ate nearly three fourths of my meal until I got the puppy dog eyes from the mister to add a little to his empty plate. He got the tofu noodles and ate every last morcel before I could even try a taste! Even the salad was amazing! There is something about that plain little salad with the ranch (or something of the sort) dressing that tastes soo amazing. A cheap, well executed meal indeed. Not a crumb left in sight. I have a feeling that Niko Teriyaki will be higher up the ladder on restaurants that I frequent on a regular basis.

Had a chance to stop out at Niko when trying to beat rush hour. I ended up get the beef and chicken teriyaki. Chicken and beef was pretty delicious I didn't feel like I was eating left overs. Serving size is pretty decent for the price you pay. Enjoy!

Large portions of inoffensive (or only mildly offensive) food. The teriyaki is overly sweet, as it is almost everywhere. The gyoza are no better than frozen grocery store dumplings, but no worse. Katsu is hard to really screw up, and it's fine, but not great, etc.

Teriyaki is one of those things that is so simple and yet so easy to screw up, apparently. This restaurant only caught my attention because it's right across the parking lot from QFC. Even in that area, there are better restaurants. I really do wish I could like this restaurant more, though. It would be so nice to have a good teriyaki joint in such a convenient location. My order of tempura with teriyaki pork ($8.95) arrived in five minutes. I really don't know how they are able to make all that in five minutes, although really a lot of it is simple. Since it's a combination, it came with a salad and a scoop of white rice. Those hardly take any effort to make, but I appreciate that at least they're there even if they are a generic addition to a teriyaki plate. The tempura is just fried vegetables to the point that they might as well be junk food. The pork teriyaki just had a funny taste to it. Something wasn't quite right about it. This whole thing was just not really that good. It was cheap and quick, though. That at least has to count for something, right? And the place got surprisingly busy toward the end of my meal; I guess those people appreciate what I don't.
