I was charged with organizing a BBQ function for our office and found Catering by John locally and I am so glad that we decided to go with them. I knew that our function was going to be difficult, mostly due to some dietary restrictions, last-minute menu changes, and, the day of the BBQ, some unexpected rain and a few guests who ate more than their fair share. The food was so tasty that our guests ended up going back for seconds and thirds! John, June and Robert were courteous, helpful and flexible. They brought extra portions, which was very fortunate for us, as we ended up needing them. The baked beans were my favorite, smoky and sweet and savory all at once; the burgers were such a hit that we nearly ran out; there was also fresh fruit salad, red potato salad, delicious homemade BBQ sauce, hot dogs and fried chicken. The BBQ was a success and very much due to the diligence, foresight and thoughtfulness of John and his excellent crew.

This Starbucks is hidden in a back corner of Redmond Town Center. I think they get some good traffic from the Marriott and some of the nearby office buildings. Good friendly service here. I've noticed lately that Starbucks asks for your name when they take your order and so they did here. I noticed that only when traveling out of state but not locally around Seattle. It's fun to make up a name. Get creative. Anyway, Starbucks, no surprises.
Rebecca, you rock !!! I had to review and give you 5 stars. The most pleasing lady in any starbucks...... Good luck in becoming the ambassador
My favorite Starbucks. And I've been to a lot. The staff there makes an active effort to remember your name, and they do a great job considering the number of close by offices. I know that all Starbucks are supposed to be the same, but they seem to have the best lattes I have had.

Sip Thai Bistro

OMG! This is an amazing gem...I can't believe it's been here all this while! My first foray into Thai Food was in 1999, at the Thai Bamboo in San Jose...seldom have I found a place as good. Sip Thai blows every other Tahi restaurant I've ever been to, right out of the water! Drunken Noodles - 6* out of 5 Sip Thai fried rice - 5* out of 5 Pad Thai - 5* out of 5 The ambience is modern, albeit a bit cramped. They've made the most of available space. A bummer that some of the tables are alongside the kitchen, separated by a thin 2/3rds wall...which means you'll have to speak up to be heard by your fellow table-mate. The service is courteous, and FAST! All in all, a great place for a quick lunch or dinner. Pro tip: call ahead and ask for a table by the front window. These are the best seats in the house. Nope, the view ain't great (opens to the parking lot)...but you're away from the kitchen. My overall rating is for the food (only).
Service is excellent. Very friendly like family, quick and spot on. Place is small but nice. Outdoor tables are great for friend gathering on a good day. I was somewhat disappointed by the food. Feels like made by a skillful home cook instead of professional chef. Don't take me wrong - it tasted fine and some people may prefer home style cooking, but I am not coming to a restaurant for that. Regardless of personal taste, the dishes are overpriced. Not sure it's because of the location (close to cinema) though. I'll probably go again some time with friends (this time I went by myself), try different dishes, and see if the non-food factors are worth the price.
Adding this to my list of favorite Thai places in the area. The space is clean and bright despite its nondescript location. Side note - also adding this to the list of good finds that I've stumbled upon in strip malls in Redmond! The food is fresh with bright flavors, and the beautiful presentation adds to the enjoyment of dining here. Try the rotating seasonal specials as well - last time, it was soft shell crab with pad thai, which was tasty and a bit different. The service was spot on - they were kind enough to add an extra summer roll to our appetizer order so each person at the table could have their own, and they even served us free samples of tea during our meal. Which reminds me, their tea selection is great! You get a pot to steep at the table with 3 refills of water. Lovely place overall.

Talk about diamonds in the rough. If you go here at night, and have never been around the area, you def get a where in the hell am I going and can there really be something good there vibe. But don't fret this stroll through commercial buildings is well worth it. The Trickster IPA has now supplanted itself in my top three beers and is easily the best IPA i have had. The scotch ale was also very tasty, but man that IPA. Place has a nice vibe for its tasting room/bar and the back room is nice for big groups (which we were). And bonus points, you can get Flying Saucer Pizza delivered to your table. Pretty good pizza + Awesome beer. I believe I have been told that makes for a decent combination.
I love this brewery. I love the mascot, I love the logo, I love the staff, but most of all-- and I say this as a beer snob-- I love the beer. Whether you get the pale ale, the IPA, the brown, the Scotch, or one of their many rotating or trial brews, I guarantee you will find it deliciously complex and fulfilling. I've even taken non-beer drinkers there, and they've been impressed.
Great beer, cool space, needs to figure out how to manage inventory better. I get it, it's just a taproom, not a bar. Just a small, relatively young, brewery getting started. So I don't expect them to have every beer they've ever brewed ready to go; but still. They were out of 3 of their 6(7?) beers. Including what seems to be somewhat their flagship (the Trickster IPA). My group wasn't the only disappointed one there. I guess, I will learn to call beforehand. Of course, it still gets four stars because the beer we did get was great. And the taproom space is large, comfortable, and innovative (it goes back into the brewing area). Plus, it led me to discover Flying Saucer Pizza which is: a. AWESOME!! and b. had the beers we wanted on tap. So that's a little tip for you. If Black Raven is out of their IPA, walk over to FSP.
