I was in the neighborhood with a buddy so we stopped in here for lunch. We heard stories of the garlic sauce. It was good I guess. Nothing I'd make a drive from West Seattle to Issaquah for though. Over all not a bad teriyaki place. I got the spicy chicken. The portions were generous enough. The salad was sorta bland but that's nothing out of the ordinary. Prices are a little higher then normal but not much. On the plus side there was fresh lemon in the free water. Lemon!

I crave the Crispy Prawns and Garlic Sauce at Teriyaki Bistro. The lady at the counter is really nice too. That reminds me.. I need to stop by tomorrow :)

This place used to be pretty awesome, I used to come here sometimes since it's really close to work. Unfortunately quality has dipped to unacceptable. The chicken and beef have a wet rag texture, the salad looks like it's a week old (I didn't dare touch it), so I won't be going back. Too bad cause they are always really nice and the keep the place clean.

Decent food the last few times we went. The last time we went we ordered 2 meals to go and were given 1 packet of soy sauce to share between my wife & I? My wife asked for a second packet and was very rudely told "NO" without any explanation etc. She was amazed & could hardly believe what she heard. Had we not already paid we would have left the food on the counter & walked out. Rude & being cheap bastards & is no way to run a business. We will never go again. I am willing to never go back over 1 pack of soy sauce & rudeness. Yes, I am just as petty & ridiculous as they are, I hope they save a lot of money running off repeat customers. I'm out bitches!

A nice casual place to go and grab some food. We've hit it up several times now and almost always get the #1 teriyaki chicken. One time we got the #2 (spicy) and it was a little too much for our sensitive palates. : ) The people are super nice and have the food ready if you call ahead or make it quickly if you just show up. Down a star just because it doesn't blow you away, but it's still tasty. I really like the salad that comes with it. Clean, close to home (for us), and a good value.

Garlic, Garlic, Garlic... If you eat here you MUST get an extra side of the garlic sauce. It's like an aioli. I'm not sure what I ate because it was the first time I had ever heard of this place, and a co-worker went to get us some to go. I asked for chicken Katsu, but they didn't have it? So I got the next closest thing. It was almost like fried chicken balls... It came with rice and a coleslaw-like salad. The portion was HUGE. I was starving and I barely even made a dent. I couldn't take it home with me, because I'm horrible at eating leftovers. So, another co-worker gladly took it off my hands. Next time I'll make the run to grab food so I can see exactly what they have! It'll most likely be in a couple weeks! I can still taste the garlic and its been 6 hours. YUM!

Teriyaki was okay. But love the garlic sauce..

Can't go wrong with the "special". Its with chicken teriyaki, rice, slaw, fried potstickers and a small drink. Its a pretty good deal, easily two meals (for a girl). You must.... I REPEAT must buy some extra garlic sauce on the side. I swear they put crack in it.

3.5 stars. I come here for the sauce. the garlic sauce. if it weren't for the sauce, I probably wouldn't come. I've had better beef teriyaki and spicy chicken teriyaki at different teriyaki joints, but damn...the garlic sauce is addicting! I make sure to order extra to dunk my teriyaki meat in, and then dunk that same piece into some teriyaki sauce, and then put it together with a serving of rice that's perfect for the size of my mouth. yum yum yum. that's all, really.

The food quality is not like it use to be. The chicken tastes freezer burned and the rice tastes like the plastic containers. Beef was over cooked and the prices are really high. Save your money, because this place is not worth it.

They are fine. No wow factor, no disgusting factor. If you want meat, sauce, and rice to fill your belly they will do. I honestly don't hate them or love them, I am truly ambivalent about this restaurant.

  • Tiffany S.

Absolutely Delish! Love the garlic sauce. You can purchase extra and a bigger bottle for home use too! Only thing I have noticed is the wings when I've ordered them sometimes they arent cooked all the way. I had to return back and just get something else. The chicken is great and the beef is awesome. Everything is good.

It's all about the garlic sauce for me!! I just can't get enough of the stuff. I always order the chicken Teriyaki with breast meat only (so no dark meat) and an extra side of garlic sauce. I rarely eat the side of salad that is given so I usually ask them to just leave it off. It's nothing special. Honestly, the chicken is good but bland BUT put a little on your fork, add a chuck of the white rice and dip in the garlic sauce.. BAM! So good! Honestly, I could just get a bowl of rice and the garlic sauce and eat them without the chicken. Just go try the sauce. I promise you will get addicted! As for the restaurant itself... usually pretty clean & the bathrooms are nice. Everything is served in to go containers whether you are staying or going. Sometimes the tables can be "used" so you have to brush off the previous persons mess. Again, nothing too special but comfortable. I enjoy that they have a self serve-water dispenser with lemon.

If I could, I would rate Teriyaki Bistro as 3 1/2 stars. I like the fact that when you walk in, you can smell the food being cooked on the huge grill in front of you. We ordered the fried chicken and teriyaki chicken combo, as well as the teriyaki chicken combo with gyoza and a drink. Definitely use the garlic sauce that accompanies your order. This is one of the best teriyaki joints in Issaquah.

Teriyaki Bistro is a typical Americanized teriyaki joint, with the portions to match. Loads of sugar in the sauce, drowning out any attempt at nuanced flavor they might do. The menu options are fairly limited and uninspired, this is definitely not the place to go if you are seeking something out of the ordinary or straying far from sweet-bland palates. I have visited here several times over the years, and at least they've been consistent in their sizing and taste... On my most recent visit I ordered the lunch special which came with three quite good gyoza, but they elected to not supply gyoza sauce. The chicken was on the dry side but otherwise of fair quality. Despite the somewhat large space, TB feels like a bit of a hole in the wall. There are different styles of tables and chairs, some of which are plastic. They also had boxes and equipment stored within my sight, which doesn't kill an experience but I can't say it adds much. I could get a much finer meal without having to sacrifice much in the way of volume elsewhere at the same price, but if I really had to I could eat here again.

Not sure how this place only has 3 stars. The teriyaki is great and the garlic sauce is to die for! My wife and I used to make excuses to come shop in Issaquah from Bellevue just so we could come here. 5 stars for sure!

Teriyaki Chicken Breast is usually dry. Also wish they served pork. Lady there, too, is not very friendly. But garlic sauce is yummy. Everything else - MEH.

I'm just not a huge fan of this place for some reason. It's not the service, or it being dirty, I just don't care for much of the menu or the food. They don't do Free refills of sodas so as weird as it sounds ask for no ice in your fountain soda. The soda comes out of the machine cold and otherwise you either pay or drink water, which they offer plenty of.

What's the deal with Issaquah not having any good teriyaki joints?? :-/ Teriyaki Bistro was pretty much my last hope for good teriyaki places in Issaquah, sadly it did not meet my expectations :( The restaurant is located in the Fred Meyers parking lot. The restaurant is huge for a teriyaki place, lots of chairs, clean & organized. The just ordered chicken teriyaki. The prices were pretty high for a lunch special. The teriyaki sauce wasn't too bad and it had enough sauce and they included an extra cup of it which was nice. The rice was dry. The salad was more like cabbage slaw. It came with this really weird garlicy orange sauce. It was weird. My stomach hurt really bad afterwards. I don't think I will be coming back here.

Haven't even received my food yet, so this is purely based on service. Waited over two minutes and wasn't even greeted. There were a total of four employees. Two were sitting down eating. Then when I asked for sriracha for my to go order the guy rolled his eyes and was clearly irritated that I asked him for this for whatever reason. Not sure what the disconnect is here, but they definitely aren't about customer service, so don't expect it!!!

  • K B.

It is located right next to Fred Meyer's and Cold Stone. The place is pretty small, would not recommend dine-in, although the food is pretty tasty. They have a pretty big amount of selection for teriyaki and there are also other types of protein.

  • Ricky D.

Here is what I just told my son as we walked out. The food is good but I won't be back. He said " the service" and I replied "yup". Yes it's fast food, but a hello, thank you...anything would be nice. Make me want to come back! Just a blank stare, like I am wasting time. The food price is also high. $26 for 2 people for fast food???

IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE -100 stars! i js posted a pic of the chicken & beef combo that gave me FOOD POISONING ! the beef wasnt cooked all the way or idk wth it was but it was so chewy! it was old! i gave it back so they can cook me up a new one but i got the same results after they sent out the new beef. DO NOT EAT THERE! i was huggin the toliet after 30 mins of eating there smh

The garlic sauce alone is good reason for 5 stars. We order to go food at least once per week from this place. It's pricey for "teriyaki" food. They really need to evaluate cost but other than that I've never had bad service or bad food from here. They also give pretty hefty portions too. We cut down to 1 meal and 1 side dish and it fills up 2 adults.

Looking for good teriyaki in Issaquah? This is the best place in my opinion, and i've pretty much tried them all. While the menu options and teriyaki chicken are pretty much the same as everywhere else, what sets this place apart is the garlic sauce. This heavenly nectar pairs perfectly with the chicken. Word of wisdom, however, don't bother buying a bottle of the stuff and throwing it in the refrigerator, it simply doesn't taste nearly as good when its served cold.

Went here for a quick lunch with my intern today. I used my credit card and wanted to tip but they didn't give me an option so had to pull out some ones and put it in the jar. As far as how the place looks it's probably a modern look teriyaki store that's fairly clean. They have ans island with all the napkins, water, cups, and sauces with easy acess. My intern wanted tempura but it wasn't an option here so he ended up with the crispy shrimp and I tried their garlic spicy chicken. If you are use to teriyaki style from u district or kirkland area you will be very disappointed with portion size. Quality if the chicken seemed good but it was a little too burnt for me that I couldn't really enjoy or taste the garlic spicy sauce. I got to try the crispy ship which seems like the standard fried frozen shrimp you buy at costco... actually I wouldn't be surprised if it was from frozen section of fred myers next door. Also 10 dollars each for teriyaki seemed high for the amount and quality we received. Issaquah area deserves a better teriyaki store near by because I can most of the stores in bellevue taste better with bigger portions.

Bad service and horrible food I could not eat it even after they tried to fix the problem. It was a waste of money and time will never come here again

I've been coming here for years and years since I used to live in Issaquah down the street about ten years ago. It's my absolute favorite stop when I'm in the mood for teriyaki. Until last week I had never tried their "famous" Garlic Sauce as I'm normally a simple man when it comes to my teriyaki; give me the meat and the rice and I'm a happy camper. However, that sauce is AMAZING stuff and I wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. I've never had anything here except the "daily special" which is chicken teriyaki, 3 pieces of gyoza (which in my opinion are the best on the Eastside!) and a drink. The special is $10.00 flat. Great deal for what you get. My only minor complaint is that the staff could be a bit more friendly.

I love how they grill the chicken right in front of you. The glaze over the chicken is delicious and makes it melt in your mouth. I have eaten here many times and love stopping by when I am in the area. Good quality and fresh.

I have tried this place twice and each time I am very disappointed the spicy teriyaki was cheap sauce and the rice was way to sticky they did have the food out quickly but were small portions

Teriyaki Bistro is definitely our go-to place for teriyaki in Issaquah for as long as we've lived here. I can't say we've gone deep into menu, but when we're in the mood for some great, fast take-out, this is where we go. Their basic teriyaki sauce is great, and their Garlic Sauce is sinfully good for dipping things into (like fingers and maaaaybe a gyoza or two). Two orders of chicken breast teriyaki, ten piece gyoza, extra salad, and we're a happy family! We do this at least monthly, sometimes even a lot more. To top it all off, the location is great - Close to the freeway exit, next door to a grocery store. Order dinner, make a quick grocery run for the basics (You know.. beer, milk, bread, wine, etc.) grab your food and you're set!

Teriyaki Bistro is open on Sundays!!! With that said I ordered the spicy garlic chicken and it was bland like they did not season the chicken at all. I added salt when I got home and that helped because the chicken was cooked nicely with just enough char but not burned. I am giving them a 3 star because the garlic sauce was awesome and I have not tried the teriyaki. Next time I am getting chicken teriyaki with extra garlic sauce and hopefully I can give them more stars!

This is another whole in the wall place. This is the only place I would like to eat Teriyaki when I was a vegetarian. Because they have best tofu teriyaki I have ever tasted. And now that I am not a vegetarian anymore I find myself still getting it, I just can't let go! lol The garlic sauce is lovely, they sell a bottle of it for about $5, so what I do is put it on salads or homemade salmon burgers.

2-stars = Meh. And that's about right for our visit there. Stopped in last Thursday for a large to-go order... 4 boxes of food. The beef teriyaki was good... I wouldn't go much beyond good. The teriyaki sauce is fairly standard, certainly not worth the $10 premium price on a box. Nor was the coleslaw-like salad worth it (in fact, I couldn't finish mine... the taste and texture were way off. Salad shouldn't be watery/slimy). As were the two chicken teriyaki boxes we got. The service was okay. Nothing to write home about. What draws this down from a 3-star to a 2-star review was the "Crispy Chicken Teriyaki". The flashy electronic ad board near the counter advertised them as not processed. And from the perspective that they didn't go down an assembly line, they're right. But they marketed them as "whole chicken breast, hand-breaded and fried crisp." What I got was press-formed shapes made from the bits of thigh meat leftover from the trimmings for the grilled teriyaki dishes, breaded in panko and egg wash, then formed into uniform nugget shapes and deep fried. The result was mushy, bland product with a basic teriyaki sauce soaked into the breading. The doughy centers belied the fact that these were not whole chicken breast. There was nothing "crisp" about them. And I paid a premium price for it. So... if you don't mind paying upwards of $10 for a teriyaki box you could get for $8 anywhere else, then enjoy. Avoid the "crispy" dishes, though. They're just not what is advertised.

Teriyaki Bistro is a small, noisy place that can be both hard to find, and hard to get to (assuming you survived making it past all the cars whizzing on by to Fred Meyers or Home Depot). It can feel cramped, especially if you are seated at a table that is next to the main utensil line, where you would get napkins, straws, and forks. When I stopped by, there was a TV console that wasn't working. The lighting in here was not great, and had a dark and gloomy feel to it. Not depressing, but not inviting either. I had no problems with the service, and the food arrived relatively quick (I would say a 5-7 minute wait). That said, the food was actually better than I expected it. Not great - I mean, its just rice, salad, and meat, and it would take a lot to elevate that to something special. I had the Chicken Salad on their menu, which was very tasty. The Chicken was juicy and fresh off of the grill; the salad looked like it had come from one of those EarthBound Organics Mixed Green boxes you can find at Costco ... not really a complaint, since I like that stuff anyways! My wife had the sweet and spicy chicken; this was only OK, I thought it was a little too much on the spicy rather than sweet side. Her chicken was a little drier than mine, not sure why. The garlic sauce here is GREAT ... the food would be struggling without it. Overall, I give three stars: The food is decent for a quick Teriyaki place, but the location and ambiance really hurt this place. I could see myself returning here, but only for takeout ... I don't think I would sit down to eat, unless I was really hungry.

The true home of crispy garlic chicken crack. I was tricked by other yelpsters and taken to chantandee thai for crispy garlic chicken that gets you hooked like crack. Those yelpsters have obviously never been to the Bistro. One bite into the crispy chicken with artery clogging garlic sauce and you will know that you have found the spot. Its hard enough to find decent teriyaki in this city (which is why I have to travel to Issaquah) but for it to be this good is unheard of! Serving sizes are more than adequate and I think the price is right especially being in Issaquah.

One of the best korean run teriyaki places :D a little pricey for just teriyaki, but very good!

Teriyaki Bistro looks good from the outside, it gets better as I walk inside this restaurant. They have a nice and well furnished place. I can also smell the sweet aroma of their food. I love their chicken teriyaki so much! The sauce made the teriyaki perfect! Everything is just perfect. I would definitely come back again to this place.

So this is your basic Teriyaki place nothing special. I have had a few of things on the menu and like them all except the crispy chicken - I like a lighter batter. They have good sauce, a nice salad and it is close to home so I keep going back. Not a destination place by any means.

The teriyaki here is not like most places. They advertise some weird garlic teriyaki sauce which is not good at all. We ordered 2 items on their menu and neither were good at all. I would not come back here.

Pretty Good. After years of looking at this place, I tried it the other day when I went on a protein bender after eating excessive amounts of snow and being mocked for hours. It was great. I love the black boxes the to go orders come in. Also, they have some interesting garlic sauces and crispy chicken options and a chicken breast only option that's not on the menu. Also, they have some cran-raspberry juice. Yum! No one has that. Oh Yeah! they have some nice combinations and a game area for the kids to play with while you wait. I don't like that they charge you extra for more sauce. Why? It's like 1 cent.

Here's the drill: order the beef short ribs and an order of gyoza with at least 1 large extra garlic dipping sauce. If you're ordering take-out (which is what I usually do, so I can enjoy this delicious food with an icy cold Sapporo) and don't have a bottle of Sriracha at home (shame on you!), then order a side of that also. I arrange my take-out containers right next to each other, then align the dipping sauces in the following order: soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, Sriracha sauce and garlic dipping sauce. For the ribs, I dip in Sriracha then the garlic sauce. The flavor and texture combination is almost orgasmic. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not. For the gyoza (which are good, but nothing particularly out of the ordinary on their own), I go soy, teriyaki, Sriracha then garlic. This combination gets a bit messy, but is so worth it! I alternate between the short ribs and the gyoza and basically just bliss out. Obviously, experiment with any combination of sauces (or lack thereof) you like, but this one has worked incredibly well for me. The above meal, which I get at least twice a month, has utterly demolished two different diets I've been on over the last two years, leaving them broken and trembeling on the floor. I can't help it- I am a junky for this stuff and it calls to me until I give in and go get my next fix.

It's okay... The chicken tasted good but everything else was just ho-hum. Definitely nothing special and I've tasted a lot better at other teriyaki places. I won't be going back any time soon.

One of the better teriyaki restaurants in the area. Not your typical chop-and-go teriyaki stand; expect to wait between 6-10 minutes for your food. Many people prefer to order and then go to Fred Meyer next door to do some quick shopping. The wait is worth the quality of the food. Parents can let their kids play the nintendo gamecube kiosk while waiting as well. Everything is fresh and made to order. The food selection is your basic selection of chicken, beef, crispy chicken (breaded), and pork cutlets. The spicy choices are just the teriyaki versions rolled in spices. Pretty much a no frills meal except for the side of asian vinegarette coleslaw. I think gyoza is another side choice for some meals. One of the reasons I keep coming back to this place is their kick-ass garlic sauce. I've noticed that many teriyaki places nowadays have this sweet mayo & garlic concoction but Teriyaki Bistro is by far the best I've tasted so far. They even sell it in multiple sizes so you can take home. One thing I did not like is that if you want another ounce of it, it costs another 25 cents. I'm not a fan of any restaurant charging extra for more sauce. That said, the sauce is still so delicious that I was compelled to buy a 8oz bottle to take home. I use it home for EVERYTHING. Sometimes I feel like I'm eating sauce with a side of chicken because I drown everything in it. The prices ($6 - $8) are higher than what I would expect from a teriyaki place, but the portions are bigger than typical teriyaki bowl and you will definitely feel full after eating a meal. Not much to say about the service because it's a "to-go" joint. There are tables and chairs kept up in a fairly clean condition should you decide to eat there. Overall I would recommend this place for fulfilling your teriyaki craving. Good food, decent prices, and excellent sauce! This place would earn a 5 star rating if the prices were lower.

This place definitely caters to the Sammamish crowd and they do it well. People in this area tend to be alarmingly rude. No one says excuse me, they talk on cell phones while they stand at the counter, they allow their similarly rude children to treat everywhere like a McDonald's playland, etc. I think the people who own and run this place handle it with ease. I had a chicken (next time ill get chicken breast) with some kind of sweet and spicy sauce. It was tasty. A little overpriced, but what isn't in the Issaquah area? Of course, their garlic sauce stole the show. It's very good and garlic is my blood type, so I knew I would love it.. I will be back to buy a bottle of the stuff so I can dip all my meals at home in it. My date had something along the lines of katsu beef minus katsu sauce. This was also darn good. I don't understand why they as if its for here or to go at the counter because they put everything into a take out box.... anyway, this place is definitely worth a try.

Have been going to this resturant for years since it has opened and love it every time! I always order their number one which is chicken teryaki with a large garlic sauce (the best sauce ever!) The price is just right and the service is very quick. The place is always clean and the people there are friendly.

I'm in Issaquah for work and found Teriyaki Bistro for dinner. Although I saw a few complaints on yelp, most of the reviews were good, so I gave it a try. I got the spicy chicken teriyaki and since everyone was raving about the garlic sauce, I ordered an extra, small-sized container. It was a pretty good meal, the garlic sauce was tasty, although not drop-dead yummy like some people said. I wish I could have gotten all-white meat (and maybe you could, but I didn't notice) since dark meat tends to be a bit fatty. All in all, a good meal though, and well worth the $8 or $9 I spent.

Love love TB. They have this garlic sauce that is INSAINLY good! The only thing that they could improve on is lowering the price on the kids menus. Almost all of their chicken and beef dishes are really yummy.

No flavor, the rice was stale, and the chicken tasted a bit spoiled?

I go for the Spicy Chicken. I like the spicy powder the sprinkle on, not too saucy. Salad is just ok. Garlic sauce is good. It does take a little while for food to be ready, but I don't mind the wait. There are only a few tables so you might need to wait to get one during lunch rush. Afterward, go to Cold Stone for dessert next door.

Totally yummy. Got the Chicken Terriyaki, and there is lots of extra sauce if you eat in. I thought there was enough for the take out also. It is really very yummy! Inexpensive and nice treat out with family. Everyone loved it! Really yummy teriyaki sauce. We've been back again it was so good!

The Teriyaki Bistro is hands down the best teriyaki you can get in Issaquah. Stylish (love the black containers), delicious, and consistent, the wait is worth it and the price justified. All orders are freshly prepared while you wait, and Starbucks is no more than 30 seconds from the door, so go ahead and order that iced latte to complement your meal. I absolutely love the garlic sauce, although I typically ask for extra as one container never seems to be enough, which is usually accompanied by a nominal charge. I suspect they charge for it because if they did not, people would certainly clean out their store to stock fridges full of the delicious condiment. I personally recommend the tofu teriyaki, I've never had anything quite like it before.

  • John H.

Kevin covers it well. It's a couple bucks more than your standard teriyaki place, but I appreciated the higher quality meat that's grilled right before you on an open fire. I would have to say the portions are a bit smaller, but nobody needs to eat that much rice anyway. Also no free drink refills...grrr. That's a must for me after I"ve spent the last 4 hours running around Tiger Mountain in the rain. But still, I left full and warm.

DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be treated horribly. I will never step in to Teriyaki Bistro again after my last visit on Tuesday. Ordered food over the phone, got there, rang me up. Man behind the counter was full of attitude and was abrupt and rude, but it wasn't what he did to me, at first, that caused me to make this decision. After paying for the food, I went to the condiment section to get more teriyaki sauce, because they ALWAYS skimp. They keep bottles of it out front for free. The lady behind me steps up, orders, then asks for more teriyaki sauce. The very flamboyant and attitude-filled guy acts completely taken back, says that he has to charge her, then goes around the corner to go and get the sauce in the cup. I lean forward to this lady and let her know that the sauce is available and free at the condiment station, making a point that it's pretty ridiculous that he said that he'll charge. When he returns she asks him to clarify why it was free on the station but not free behind the counter. He then and only then tells her that he won't charge her, but then, and I kid you not, tells her that he doesn't appreciate HER attitude and the way that she just spoke with him. Unreal. They have words with one another and she walks out, nicely and professionally (unlike him) and says that she'll not be returning ever. I then tell the guy that he should be ashamed for the way that he treated her. He then tells me that I have a crappy attitude and that I should mind my own business. I ask him if he has any clue that he's running a restaurant and that you don't mouth off to your customers unless you want to go out of business. He then starts yelling at me, once again. I'm done. This happened to me back in 2007 with them and I forgave them and returned, after being away for many, many years, but Teriyaki Bistro, you're not that good and you're not worth supporting a business that would hire a disrespectful jerk like that. Done.....

Pretty much anything you can do wrong to teriyaki chicken happened to my lunch. There was just barely cooked chicken with a pink cast made me constantly check possible bites. The teriyaki sauce is watered down and extra sweet. The salad dressing, a refreshing white sauce at most teriyaki joints, was more of a watered down soy sauce. Final insult - no gyoza sauce, just soy. Huh? On the upsode, somehow they are able to circumvent Issaquah's "no plastic bags" law for take out. The rice was ok. Garlic sauce will go great on a meal at home. One that is fully cooked. The waitstaff was unfriendly and uninterested in cleaning the sticky drippy tables. I won't be back. It makes me happy to think I might save you from my mistake.

Spicy garlic chicken is my fave. Always get extra garlic sauce because one container is never enough.

Decent teriyaki. The beef is a bit chewy, but I don't expect them to be using high quality beef to make teriyaki. The seasoning is ok and I really like the salad/slaw. Meat comes on skewers. The garlic sauce is pretty awesome. I think some people probably use it to dip their meat with, but I like it on my salad. Cost is slightly on the higher side for teriyaki, but I'm guessing they're paying for real estate.

Not the best teriyaki place. Could be more friendly. They served us in a to go even though we wanted to eat there. Taste could be better

I ordered the beef teriyaki to go. The teriyaki sauce provided wasn't very good (like the cheap brand at the grocery store). The meat was still on skewers but the the ends of the skewers were burnt. Taking the meat off meant getting bits if burnt wood to go along with the meat. The rice was undercooked. All in all, I've had better for much cheaper.

I'm pretty sure I got the Kung Pao Kitten rather than the Kung Pao Chicken....this was forgettable to say the least. Yummy Teriyaki is a thousand times better. I'm done.

Teriyaki Bistro, I hold you responsible for my fiendish addiction to your garlic sauce. Seriously. I always ask for extra. Is that the healthiest thing I could do? Most certainly not, but is it the tastiest? YES! You make Crispy Chicken Teriyaki. That is like two of my favorite things thrown into one: Teriyaki and Katsu. What? Add some Garlic Sauce? Uh, YEAH, don't mind if I do. Listen, I'm going to be unabashed here. If I decide to leave myself control at the door, I will fit one whole order into my small-ish bod. Yup, sure will. Thats what yoga pants are for friends. You're welcome. Although, I guess if I want to keep a small-ish bod, I should probably not have that kind of a habit. But luckily for me, I don't come here as often as I would like. And really, that whole self control thing? That's a discussion for another place. PS. They make garlic sauce in bottles you can take home. DO IT! :)

Tried few different teriyaki from this place, beef is a bit chewy, Sweet and Spicy Chicken is good, but Spicy Garlic Chicken is my favorite, the sauce that goes with it is tasty. I would recommend Spicy Garlic Chicken if you never try their teriyaki before.

food is decent and portions are generous. Price is avg for teriyaki. they need to update their décor.

One of my fav's. The crispy chicken teriyaki with he garlic sauce is a must!!! The tender golden nuggets of heaven are battered and fried to a perfect crunch then drizzled with a balanced sweet teriyaki sauce over a bed of rice. The meal comes with a small container of the specialty home made garlic sauce. I recommend buying a second container. You will use it for sure!!! Small is .25. Large is $1 or you can walk home with a whole squeeze bottle for $5 like I did!!!! The only thing that would make this place better would be if the side salad was actually a fresh salad with some sort of Japanese dressing instead of a plain cole slaw salad.

I wanted some quick take-out teriyaki and kind of randomly settled on Teriyaki Bistro. Unfortunately I ended up regretting it. The place is decorated like a bubble tea shop and the service was fast and friendly, and the prices are pretty cheap. Unfortunately, the food sucked. You don't go into a teriyaki joint expecting top quality meat, but both the chicken and beef we ordered was chewy and rubbery. Sauces were ok, but the garlic sauce everyone raves about was pretty meh.

Terrible! Condescending staff, terrible service, chicken half cooked, the only saving grace was the garlic sauce. When my friend who works next door asked for a discount the cashier laughed at her said "WE don't give discounts!" As we are eating our meal a customer walks up to the counter with her meal and tells the cashier she didn't want to eat her chicken teriyaki cus it was undercooked, and wanted a refund. The cashier takes one look at the chicken, smirks and says "you ate it, no refund!" The customer tells the cashier she took one bite of chicken and noticed the chicken was undercooked and would appreciate a refund. The cashier said "no" AGAIN! It took another customer waiting in line telling the cashier that they could get violently get ill and pointed out the blood before they would refund her. After the customer left with her refund along with the customer waiting in line, I hear the cashier say under her breath "crazy people" in Korean which I'm fluent in. 2 days later my fellow peer and 3 others ordered to go and received 2/3 of their order and was charged for 3. She immediately walked back across the parking lot with bag and told the cashier they received 2/3 but was charged for 3. The cashier with a irritated look and said "NO! Your order all their!"friend nicely asked of they remember her calling earlier for 3 spicy chickens? The cashier says "YES! I put three in bag!" So my friend replies "can we get either a refund or the spicy chicken we ordered?". The cashier in the same irritated way says " NO! I told I we gave u three now leave!"

I only come here to get the GARLIC SAUCE! You can literally dump this on anything and it will make it good. The teriyaki is a very small order of meat compared to other places that I have been to and it seems like several people cook because sometimes I get a well chared piece of chicken and other times I have to check to see if its cooked all the way through. I now just come in to get the GARLIC SAUCE and dont normally get the teriyaki.

My first teriyaki in Washington. Really good charred meat on a skewer. Salad and rice were typical, but the sauce was fantastic. I liked how the inside and layout were designed. Good stuff overall.

Pretty decent terriyaki. Get the crispy chicken. Also the garlic sauce is very good. Because its self serve, they aren't too customer friendly. But food is good

Love this place! Best teriyaki tofu I've ever had anywhere! They are so friendly and fast. I'd drive from far away just to get their delicious teriyaki tofu and I took my no vegetarian parents there and they lived the tofu too! They provide free lemon water and don't charge you for extra teriyaki sauce. Just those little touches make a difference. They also serve their food in recyclable take out containers which is another plus!

This is theee best teriyaki joint that I know of. My favorite item here is the spicy teriyaki tofu steak -- you get two fried tofu steaks over rice with a side salad for $6.89. The teriyaki sauce isn't too sweet, and adding spicy to it makes it the best. The garlic sauce is like crack, and back when I lived in Issaquah, we would buy sriracha bottles filled with it and pour it on everything. The service is great. Food comes out quickly, and the ladies working there are sweet. Inside feels clean, and they have bottles of extra teriyaki sauce and sriracha on the tables. Also, don't forget to get a stamp card!

You can't really go wrong with any teiryaki place tho.. But this place has pretty good menu and i love their garlic sauce. It just taste so good with my teriyaki chicken!! You can also buy the bottle from them to go. however, I wish they have deals for lunch special like some other teriayki in the area.. because sometimes, i want to save that $1 or $2 :)

Hubby had eaten here recently and really liked it, so we decided to give it a quick try for lunch. Lady at counter seemed pretty disinterested and would have rather been any where but there. I ordered the crispy teriyaki beef (which was a bad buddig beef version of chicken katsy), hubbyr ordered the spicy garlic chicken abd skewered prawns (he NEVER got the prawns - thanks.....). Portions were much smaller than most teriyaki places and our 2 lunches with no drinks were $19 (so not cheap). The only positive of the meal was the spicy garlic sauce, which they served as salad dressing otherwise it was a flop.....won't be back.

So-so food but the garlic sauce is very good. They could have kept the salad though -- just took up space and was more a garnish than something I would look forward to eating. Pricey for the portion sizes. Cashier wasn't very helpful when I asked questions about some of the food offerings. The chicken breast teriyaki is usually pretty good but the last time I got it, it was pretty darn dry. I've enjoyed the salmon teriyaki pretty much each time we gotten it. If you're not near Golden Teriyaki, this is OK in a pinch but I wouldn't seek it out. If it's convenient based on other errands I'm running, I'll pick up take out -- my hubby isn't nearly as picky about teriyaki as I am.

This is my go-to teriyaki place in Issaquah. The food is prepared right in front of you, it's cleaner than most teriyaki places, and you can customize your order.

I like Teriyaki. It tastes great when done right and is usually cheap and filling. Even when it's done OK it is still edible. This was done very poorly and probably the worst Teriyaki I have ever had. I watched the guy throw a slab on par cooked chicken on the grill. He cooked it and then drizzled a little sauce on it, calling it good. It tasted like a bland piece of chicken with a little sauce. The rice was heavy and over cooked. For the first time EVER, I could not finish my Teriyaki dish. The only redeeming thing was the little salad on the side. The service was not that friendly and the restaurant was a little dirty. There are too may decent places for Teriyaki to go back here.

I have my moments when I crave teriyaki or not. When I DO crave it, I would head over to Teriyaki Bistro. It definitely satisfy my craving and on top of that they have the best garlic sauce ever! It's like crack sauce I swear! You can buy a bottle of it for $5 to take home to smother over anything you can think of.. I know I do! haha... I usually order the beef/chicken combo but lately I've been ordering the crispy beef which is yum! The tofu teriyaki isn't bad either! Slightly battered and grilled tofu with teriyaki sauce AND dip it with garlic sauce. Delicious!

Terrible! Condescending staff, terrible service. They would not honor my punch cards buy one get one free. Not nuts about the food but the sauce is great. I will never go back. They made me more then angry.....

I haven't been here in a while, but I have to note that they've got the best garic sauce to add to your teriyaki. It is delicious! The contrast with the sweetness of the flavor in the sauce with the garlic sauce is amazing. Makes for a delicious meal for a good price.

Addictive sauce that leaves me craving it weekly. I do find it expensive for the size portion you receive, compared to other places. And don't sit near the bathroom though, since the cleaning products these use are really strongly scented.

I like their food. Problems come in the service and atmosphere. Portions are inconsistent, sometimes enough for two, sometimes not. Agree with other Yelpers on the friendliness of the staff. Two tips for the owners: 1) Pack the garlic sauce on to-go orders outside the container rather than the teriyaki sauce. Garlic sauce seems mayo based and in the heat doesn't last well if not eating right away. 2) On downtime, CLEAN! I got there after what must have been an exhausting lunch rush, as 3 workers were leaning on the counters in the kitchen and no clean tables to sit at! I grabbed some napkins and cleaned myself a spot and 25 minutes later when I left, no one had been out to clean and all 4 employees now standing around doing nothing.

The food is just OK, the garlic sauce is good though. French fries not so great. Not so much maybe with teriyaki, but I got a bottle and will use on chicken. Service, meh. I got the spicy garlic chicken. I might try it again because it is close to work and if I am making a run to Fred Meyers.

My favorite in & out teriyaki joint. Garlic sauce is AMAZING. Spicy garlic chicken is what I usually get. Big portions too. My whole has been going here for at least 4 years

  • Keith Z.

This is the best Teriyaki I have had and it is not so much the food as it is the garlic sauce. I am a person who likes sauces and this is fantastic. They sell it in a big bottle also that you can bring home and make other dishes with. I think I have tried everything on the menu and it has all been good. When i first started going 5 years ago the portions were bigger but i can still order a lunch portion and split it with someone. But no sharing my garlic sauce. Sometimes you have to wait a while because they are busy but that is when you go next store to Fred Meyers and pick up the little items you need and then it will be ready. Enjoy

If you didn't get the hint...its all about the garlic sauce, that is what puts this place over the top. Put that stuff on the grilled tofu or crispy beef and your in heaven.

Pros: Garlic Sauce. Staff was nice. Cons: Overpriced, skimpy portions, plastic silverware and food served in to go boxes only, even for dine in. Teriyaki Sauce lacked flavor. Shredded cabbage and iceberg had NO flavor; i literally think that's all the salad consisted of. Quality and preperation of the chicken was meh.... Bottom line you can't charge unreasonable prices for skimpy portions of mediocre food. Unless you pass it off to teriyaki N00bz who don't know any better, which there are obviously a lot of in issaquah. Go to golden teriyaki instead.

Grabbed a bite here after doing a little shopping. Pretty good. I had the spicy garlic chicken teriyaki. I liked the flavor. It definitely had a garlic flavor besides just being a little more spicy than regular teryaki. The chciken was better quality than I've experienced in many teriyaki places. I thought it was a little light on meat and sauce. The salad looked more like it had been processed in a paper shredder. The gyoza was good as well. I'd eat here again.

I tried this spot for the first time and i was bitterly dissappointed while the chicken was soft and good the portion was little and the rice too much and somewhat soggy.i would not recommend this place to a friend

  • Jens J.

Do like the crispy beef and chicken teriyaki. Do love the creamy garlic dipping sauce (it's really what sets this place apart from other teriyaki joints). Note that they give you just one little cup of the sauce with your teriyaki, which is not enough. Suggest that you purchase at least two more cups (.25 cents/cup) at the take-out counter. Nice texture of cole slaw -- first time I have seen lettuce and cabbage together. It works, but it could stand some more flavor. Airy interior, but do not care for the oldies radio station blaring advertisements and early 80's crap like REO Speedwagon and Christopher Cross.

Two words sum up Teriyaki Bistro. GARLIC SAUCE. I swear, it's made with equal amounts of love and crack. I live in Kirkland, work in Bellevue, and have been known to drive all the way out to Issaquah just for the sauce. Sometimes I neglect to get my mail for a few days because I have to walk 3 minutes to the mailroom.. but I'll drive all the way to BFE to get the sauce. It's that good. The chicken is good quality white meat, they have brown rice, the salad is your typical teriyaki-spot salad.. but the SAUCE. I can't even describe it, it's just that good. You can even buy it in larger squeeze bottle things and take it home.. which, obviously, I do. Best $5 I spend on random stuff, hands down. It's fantastic on chicken fingers, rice, basically anything that needs a good sauce. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the location. If it were closer to Bellevue or they opened up another one in Kirkland ( which is my DREAM ), I'd give it 6 if I could.

  • Tres B.

Always busy and there's a reason. Really great Teriyaki and their secret is a garlic sauce that is somewhere between crack and Oxycoton on the addiction scale. The salad is more like a slaw, but always very tasty and the portions are large. Char grilled spicy chicken in wonderful. When I am in Issaquah, this is my spot!

I often go here for lunch. It gets packed at about noon until 1pm. I order #4. Crispy teriyaki beef. I love their beef teriyaki and GARLIC sauce!!! And for 2 bucks, you get a huge side of french fries. Thats too much food for me. So I end of taking it back to the office to share.

I would have given it 4 stars but i had ordered to go and they given me cold meat. I usually order it and find a place to sit and eat it but I didn't have time- they gave me cold meat. It's where all the costco and microsoft employees go for teriyaki...they all walk in with their badges hang on their pants. So it must be great. The owner is korean and some workers are mexican. At times I see they shop next door, Fred Meyers to get some ingredients- lettuce. They have this spining machine that shreds the lettuce in thinly sliced shreds for salad. Their garlic sauce is good with the salad and meat with rice. The portion is good, two big slices of meat and good helping of rice to top it off. Unlike other teriyaki places that give only two measly scoops of rice and charge more for extra rice.

  • Nina T.

I had leftover teriyaki that I brought in to work, microwaved, and was eating in a meeting. The combination of the teriyaki and garlic sauce smelled so good that my co-worker immediately asked for the name of the restaurant. Good teriyaki place to get food from if you're in the area, and it's conveniently next to Fred Meyer so you can get your shopping done before or afterwards. I've found that if you go there and order, it can take longer than you'd expect at a teriyaki joint, so your best bet is to call 10 minutes ahead and get it to go. I always order either the regular chicken teriyaki or the daily special, which is 3 gyoza, chicken teriyaki, and a drink. Comes with a small container of teriyaki sauce and more importantly, a small container of their awesome garlic sauce. This stuff is so good that they sell salad dressing sized bottles of it. If mixed vegetables are your thing, a few bucks for the side of veggies gets you a good amount. Service is friendly enough, but be warned... they're strict about closing time, and there's a sign that says that last orders are taken at 8:50pm.

Can Teriyaki ever be 5 star, no way. OK, the garlic sauce is everything people said it would be, but not allot of food for the $. Also, the "veggie" on the dish was drowned in sauce. Yeah, I will go back some time again, but I will need to be in the right mood. Or maybe I will just buy the garlic sauce and go use it on teriyaki at other places...

I think this is the only teriyaki restaurant I've ever had that deserves a full 5 stars. I've tried to find a place that compares all around Northern California (where I live now) but I've yet to find any place that comes even close. Nobody's spicy sauce or chicken quality compares to TB's. I've been going to TB since the early 2000's when I was in high school and I still make it one of my top priorities whenever I visit my parents (along with Yeas Wok in Newcastle). For as awesome as the food is, the other great thing about TB is that it has been consistent -- the food tastes exactly as it did 9 years ago, and every detail of the service has stayed exactly the same, down to the quality of the takeout boxes (I hate places that use flimsy boxes). The only thing I've ever got here is the #2 Spicy Garlic Chicken with chicken breast meat and a large cup of the special sauce on the side. The portions are huge and 2 could easily eat from one dish, though I don't know why you'd want to do that ;-). I've never got the dish without breast meat so I can't comment on the standard order, but the breast meat order includes 2 large chicken breasts neatly sliced and covered with the spicy garlic sauce over a huge mound of rice and a side order coleslaw. The special sauce is absolutely amazing -- I make sure that my parents always have a large bottle handy (which is conveniently sold by TB). It's great on everything I've tried it with so far -- salad, pizza, fries, indian food, and other asian foods. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anybody searching for Teriyaki on the Eastside. Prices are reasonable at what I believe was $7.99 for my dish with the breast meat (cheaper without breast meat).
