So when it comes to Mexican food you always have your favorite. I think about some of the competitors around the Issaquah area: namely Chipotle (could fall into the fast food category as well), Acapulco Fresh, and some other hole in the wall Mexican joints. I'm a big fan of Tex-Mex so definitely have my standards of tasting the best of the best. After reading some of the other reviews on Yelp I tried out Taqueria La Venadita for myself. My kids' meals were around $3.50 a piece for either burritos or chicken quesidillas and they included beans and rice. GREAT deal. We bought 2 adult entrees, a drink, and 2 kids meals for under $30 and my Carne Asada tasted like it was delivered me freshly from a Mexican stork. Real talk. They must put something in the water because I will be back.
I spend loads of time in Bellevue hanging out with my bf and sometimes have a craving some good mexican food, but knowing that there really aren't many options. Until I found this place. Now I will make a special trip out there to get my taqueria fix. We went there the first time and I wanted tacos, that's my usual. So I got 5 tacos- 2 pork, 2 asada and 1 lengua (I wanted to finally try some). The pork ones were seasoned so well, the asada was tasty and crispy cooked, and the lengua had a good taste but a weird consistency. I was hooked on this place by my tacos alone. What made me fall in love was trying some of my bf's burrito with the milanese beef. OH. MY. LORD. The meat was tender and crispy all at the same time and the whole burrito was perfectly proportioned so that every bite had everything in it and it was so good. I nearly stole the plate from him and ran. The real surprise was the salsa they serve with the chips. It's freshly made there and it's flavorful and spicy and just amazing. We get the chips and salsa every time we go, and believe me we have been back. My next mission is to try the tamales, which I hear are awesome. So if you are on the eastside and want good taqueria, get to La Venadita, it's so worth it.
Flavor! Yummy! We have been twice - noticed last night they have expanded and the food is even better. Carne asada, arroz con pollo, tacos-all good. I know it's delish in part because theres lard up in there...but just don't think about it and grub! So happy to have authentic Mexican food in the Quah. Yum.
