Love the drinks here . The icy cups are a fun touch, although not that practical if you're a slow drinker. Not that I have this problem but nonetheless! The white gummy bear is absolutely delicious and I love how they always roll out fun drinks seasonally. I've actually tried to replicate their recipes at home and have had zero success so KUDOS! Also the buffalo wings are incredible, extremely spicy so people are going to wimp out on them and leave more for me!

Lots of appetizers. I ordered the Mediterranean hummus plate. I asked the waitress if that came with any cheese on it, she said no, but it came out with cheese melted on top of the pita. So I ate everything but the pita (which is the best part!) and left feeling dissatisfied. On a good note, the staff is friendly and the place is clean.

To be honest, my girlfriend and I have never eaten here during regular hours. We always, always, alwayyyysss come for happy hour because we love their fish tacos, tempura shrimp and garlic fries. My girlfriend loves their pom pucker cosmos as well (I gotta admit, I am a fan of them as well). To start off, my girlfriend and I have been going here for over 2 years now and have never had a bad meal here. Their fish tacos are filled with a giant piece of fish, and veggies. It is seriously one of my favorite things to eat after floating down the Snoqualmie River in Fall City. Their tempura shrimp (baker's dozen so 15) are to die for. They are lightly battered and the pieces of shrimp are big. I love that they are mostly shrimp: I hate when places deep fry food but all you are mostly eating is heavy, greasy batter. We love the ranch with them :) Lastly, their garlic fries are awesome. Always nice and crisp with a good amount of garlic. We prefer dipping them in their buffalo sauce and ranch, it's a combo you must try! Overall, my girlfriend and I are very satisfied with Hop Jacks and will continue going to them for years to come (hopefully). Oh, and their lemonades are pretty good too: so many flavors. My favorite is huckleberry.

Great service, the servers are so friendly and professional! My drinks we're refilled and my order came out perfectly and they got everything I had asked for right away! The food is delicious and I'll be going back soon! I highly recommend! I was very satisfied

My boys have eaten here several times, but I finally made it with them one weekend. It's in a neighborhood shopping center, so not in a main spot you could see. You have to know about this one and make a point to find it. It's large enough inside with a bar and several seating areas. Tv's on the walls. Menu was varied and they had a daily special. My son loves the burgers here. I tried a flatbread that was honestly amazing in taste! Really enjoyed it. Had to fight the boys from taking more. Husband tried the special which was a mexican themed plate of tacos, nachos and taquitos I believe. It was very tasty. The tacos here are very good. We also had some boneless wings but the sauce was too much for my teen. Service was okay. A lot of the staff had come out to sit at a table nearby and one large party's table took awhile to get cleaned up. We will be back to try more selections; we liked this place.

I love this place. Whether it's happy hour, breakfast, dinner, or lunch I have never had a bad experience or food. Whatever you order you HAVE to try the tots. They're so crunchy and good just like a tot should be! The staff is so friendly and if something isn't to your satisfaction they make sure they change it so you have a great experience. Breakfast I get the Hop Jack Slam because it has French toast and eggs and bacon and sausage and toast. Heavenly as usual! If I'm eating lunch or dinner, the meatloaf burger is seriously awesome. I was so skeptical but wow, blew me away! They also have a barbecue burger with frizzled onions that's amazing! Great happy hour, you have to try an icy cup! They all taste amazing but I personally love the pineapple or huckleberry. See you Sunday guys!

I have never updated my review before, but I had a very good bordering on great experience at Hop Jack's last night with my son. First - the service. The host let my son park his electric scooter inside the restaurant. The server was also very friendly. I told her I had some not so great meals there in the past and they gave us a free appetizer and made some very good recommendations. And when I spilled a beer they replaced my son's meal. Second, the food - my 11 year old son really liked the grilled cheese and fries and I liked the street tacos and nachos. No complaints, good bar food. I hope they can consistently be this good - like I said, I have had some bad meals there in the past. I don't know if this is new management or what, but it was great. Maybe they can fix the corned beef hash, eggs and bacon next? Either way, good work!

New favorite place in the area - varied menu, comfortable lounge and great music with big TVs, and my beautiful friend Jamie Schilling works here and is Movin' On Up! If I could gush anymore I will say this - Boodles Gin behind the bar. Ask for a martini, you will not be disappointed. #Ifoundmyspot

If we weren't informed by local friends, we would never know this is a chain restaurant. We came here with family and friends making us a party of 6, on a Tuesday night. Place was relatively empty and quiet, but I can see a lot of potential for big football nights. The restaurant is huge but very clean and meticulously kept. The bar is nice with a good collection of taps and a full bar. We had Jalapeno burger, guacamole burger, grilled cheese with chicken and bacon sandwich, turkey club, and salads. Burgers were ordered with tots. The burgers looked amazing and tasted incredibly juicy. I expected it to be dry since it was a bigger group, but luckily I was wrong. The tots were amazingly crispy and not overly oily. Sandwiches were very tasty and the chicken/turkey were not dry at all. We were all very happy and pleasantly surprised to find out this place was part of a local chain. Definitely worth another visit next time we're in the area!

Remember how in my last review, I couldn't remember the name of the server who we really liked? Well, imagine how happy I was when we stopped by for a cocktail on Saturday and he was our server again! Our servers name was Dante and he is AWESOME! He is on point every time we go. It's worth pointing out, Hop Jacks has changed their Icy Drink menu and no longer have some of our old favs... creamsicle anyone? Pretty much anything with half and half is gone which I totally get. Maybe people never ordered those and the half & half went bad all the time... who knows?! Anyhow, they DO have soft pretzels now which while a little too salty are actually really good! They come with cheese sauce & mustard. The mustard is REALLY strong though and will over power everything else you're eating so consider yourself forewarned... It would ask for two cheese sauces and no mustard, but that's just me. Do what you want.

After running Lake Sammamish Half marathon, some of my running buddies were meeting there for brunch to celebrate the victory. It took me approximately 2 hours to run from Marymoor to Lake Sammamish State Park and took me 30 mins on bus shuttle to get my car from Marymoor, plus another 30 mins to drive to Hop Jacks! Of course, I arrived there late! It's ok! My buddy pre-ordered for me. I was lucky to get my brunch when I sat down. The restaurant is in a good size shopping plaza, plenty of parking. It's clean and wide inside. Service wasn't bad at all. It's very accommodating as far as the billing goes. We all got separate checks. I got corn beef harsh with eggs, toast, and hash brown. I loved the hash brown. It was very nice and crispy! However, I wasn't a big fan of the corn beef. It felt like mashed corn beef :-| Right before I left, I had to use the bathroom. They bathroom is clean and warm. No complain about it at all! Unless I am in the hood visiting one of my Yelp buddies who lives around there, I probably will not go by myself!

I have to show Hop Jacks some love. It's a great little neighborhood pub. The food has been consistently good, and always with great service. I recently broke my leg, and after weeks of recuperation, I was longing for an outing. I knew it would be at Hop Jacks, since it's close to home, and easily accessible with my knee scooter. Upon arrival, the very sweet Hostess discreetly asked me what would be most comfortable table wise, and proffered several suggestions. Within a short while we were happily grubbing a delicious meal (and most excitingly prepared by others). So why 5 stars? Hop Jacks hits the sweet spot on several key factors - excellent service, consistently good food and extended hours (and bonus points for the generous happy hour). It's not going to be the best meal you've ever eaten, but it's durn fine.

This place is part of a chain, but a local chain that's been around awhile. I prefer it to the other alternatives like The Ram in the Highlands. Decent food with a family atmosphere but they also show the games with sound. To be honest, the menu almost has too many options, but every gut-bomb thing I've ordered on here has been pretty decent. They have a better than expected beer selection as well, and bonus--they provide frosted mugs although they tend to run out sometimes too. Prices are a little on the higher side, but competitive with similar pub/bars.

I think some people are being overly critical of this place. We came here for breakfast for the first time and really liked this place! We ordered Corn beef hash with house potatoes: perfectly done, potatoes are nice and crispy, Eggs Benedict: nice sauces which is house made, my husband finished everything. Coffee was freshly made. Service is great. The place is spotlessly clean and very open. Location is super convinient across from QFC in our neighborhood.

The best burger!!! You gotta try the Hop Jack's deluxe burger with bacon :) it's yummy! The potato chip nachos with blue cheese are delicious too. The service has been great each time we've been there. Good family spot.

Yumm there monster French dip is so good! I don't generally like horseradish sauce but there's is so amazing I could eat it everyday! When I go I either get the street tacos or the monster French dip it's a hard decision. This is in a vary convenient location for me since I live right down the road. The price is a little high but proportions are big enough I get two meals out of everything. The staff is friendly and the shorter hostess (can't remember her name) always recognizes me and my gramma and makes us feel important!

Love the martinis at this place... The beer is great.... Not so crazy about the food. We have gone 5 times now and have ordered many items... All just ok... Drinks are great

Hop Jack's is a great place to go for happy hour, and an alright place during regular hours. They use a decent amount of herbs in their dishes, and I'm happy to report that just because it's the only bar in Klahanie, they don't charge more than the bars in downtown Issaquah. The food is enjoyable, and worth getting again. The quality of ingredients is on par or surpasses what is available in the surrounding area. The menu is good for people looking for quality American-style food: burgers, sandwiches, and a few comfort food specials. You can get a tasty meal for fairly cheap during HH, the BBQ quesadillas and fish tacos always disappear quickly. The beer selection is decent. They rotate their taps, typically bringing in local microbrews, but they keep a few standards. I've discovered a few great new beers because of HJ's. SUBJECTIVE OPINION: They pride themselves on serving beer Very Cold, which is the reason I am giving them 4/5 rather than the full 5 stars. I like to taste my beer, so I have to let my beer sit for a few minutes to warm up before I can really enjoy it. Those VOCs don't come out at 40 degrees! The service has always been friendly, like any restaurant they goof up once in a while, but they've done a great job fixing any issue that has come up. Atmosphere is great for hanging out with friends or family, and it's close to home, I'll definitely be back.

CONVENIENCE my boyfriend and I go mainly bc of convenience.. the food is great but the service sucks!!!!!!!!!! given, they are trying but just seems like no energy or care of the customers.. very inconsistent with food, service and ID checks. overall not too bad.. the fries are def. keeping me a fan though.

    (3)
  • Daniel L.

Service is amazing, food is great, the atmosphere is welcoming. I ALWAYS get the cajun (buffalo) chicken strips with fries and a huckleberry lemonade that is AMAZING! I always have this one great waitress but I forgot her name... :( I highly suggest this place! Great for the family or even a date!

    (5)
  • Tim T.

My family really likes this place. The atmosphere is very kid friendly and they serve some unique pub-style food. I give Hop Jacks a 4-star rating due to it's beer selection ... or lack there of. Their beer selection is "very common" or not that special. The last two times I have been there and they have had one tap with a special beer, they have always been out of it.

  • Kristin C.

Anywhere else this place would be a 3 star, MAX. I am rounding up though because of the convenience. This place is walking distance to my condo. It's great for lazy brunches, happy hour, or a quick bite to eat. Really though, it's the best for getting drunk and stumbling home. I am a fan of their burgers, I've tried a couple different ones and they're really quite good. Breakfast is standard, nothing special. I would skip the mozzarella sticks, I think they were the frozen kind you get at the grocery store. SUPER COLD beer. Not sure if it really matters, but that's their shtick. It's a chain with locations in smaller areas, and I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but I've been happy enough with my food and decent service every-time I have been here.

  • Lisa C.

We had such a great time and experience here! Its too bad its a bit off the beaten path for us or we would be there A LOT! We didn't have the kids with us so sat at the bar. We couldn't decide between the various IPAs so the bartender let us try them all (fantastic!). The food was great, the atmosphere was mellow and we really enjoyed the beer and cocktails. I would definitely recommend this place for either a casual and friendly at-bar experience or bringing the kiddos and sitting in the restaurant! The only thing odd is that they call it Klahanie instead of the Issaquah location so unless you're intimately familiar with this neighborhood, you have no idea where it is... I get the concept of being "local" but just calling it Issaquah would help!

I'm giving this review a 2 based on the manager, his attitude, and obnoxious kitchen staff during my last visit. I live in the area so it's an easy place to stop in and have a burger and a beer. The food is normally decent and the servers are typically on point. This visit was much like others, until the kitchen staff changed from lunch to dinner. The cooks were whistling constantly, at a really high pitch. It was very annoying; I grinned and bared it for approximately 1/2 a beer. I had to say something; I could hear others around me grumbling about it as well. The server I spoke to kind of just laughed and said, oh that's so and so in the back. Suggesting that the kitchen does this whistle thing on a regular basis. So once the server talked to the manager or "acting" manager on staff, we noticed almost instantly that the kitchen started whistling louder and more frequent. I found the entire experience very unprofessional. I couldn't begin to recommend this place to a friend or coworker, knowing they might be subject to eating their meal listening to such obnoxiousness.

As long as donte and Kylie are working at hop jacks, I will be going there. Excellent customer service, always friendly whether it's 11am or 11pm, I am always greeted with a smile. Even better, the food is consistently good. Boneless buffalo wings are killer!

A Neighborhood Gathering Place indeed! My family has become a big fan of Hop Jacks, partly based on the convenient location near our home and partly because we love the food and family friendly atmosphere. The menu has a wide selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads but my personal favorite is the Street Tacos which are delicious. The service is usually fast and friendly which is great when dining with kids. Sometimes we come in with a larger group and the staff is always accommodating. The kids menu offers plenty to choose from as well, the favorites among my kids are the corn dog and the chicken strips.

We went twice last week as we prepared for a Garage Sale. We expected the usual Denny's or Applebees type of experience but thy are worlds apart. I forgot our server's name but she was great. We arrived at 3:00 and were surprised to be presented with the Happy Hour menus. Great soups, half sandwich and the BBQ chicken quesadillas were over the top good!

  • Kerry O.

Very good place for some great beer and food. Their homemade chips are great as well as the burgers and Buffalo style chicken wings. Beer is always fresh and cold. Service is also very good!

  • Kelsey M.

Not fantastic at best, subpar at worst. Our server was either inexperienced or just unprofessionally informal. The food was actually quite passable with few exceptions. We ordered some onion rings to start off, and those were FANTASTIC! As were the french fries my father got with his burger. Highly recommended, my dad endorses anything they do that's fried. However, I ordered a guacamole burger and asked for chicken instead of beef, but received a beef patty. It was pretty tasty, but it was poorly dressed: there was a large scoop of guacamole on half of my burger that slid out the back. Another strange thing that bothered me but that wasn't necessarily bad is their bowls. They're cut at an angle, so they sit at slope on a flat table. It's bizarre and I've never seen bowls like that before. All in all, I'm not a fan and I won't be going out of my way to come back.

My boyfriend and I go here weekly because it's so close to the house. I just have to say though - the food is always great and the staff is awesome! Nolan the bartender is AMAZING! He is so sweet and makes the best drinks! If you live in the Sammamish/Issaquah area you should go here!

Sorry but I'm skipping out on Hop Jacks, they need some serious improvements!!! Our food came out cold not once BUT "twice". Our server was newish but told us that our daughter could order off the happy hour appetizer menu if we wanted instead of the kiddie menu. We checked the time and she was off by and hour. Ok? Disappointed? Yes! No silverware on the table, waited for the server to bring it after our meals were served. This was our first time dining here and we won't be coming back. It seemed too rushed, on a Thursday night? The menu was also very limited for those with food allergies. If you are gluten, egg and dairy intolerant, like me which is kinda rare to have all three. I suggest you skip on eating here. Honestly, Red Robin soars in comparison as a better burger/tavern gathering joint. I'll spare you, go to Red Robin they have pretty much the same things that Hop Jacks carries. They are consistent, fresh and the service is spot on. Everytime!

After being open for over a year (maybe more like 18 months??) this place still runs like a restaurant that just opened and is still working out the kinks. We keep going because we REALLY want this place to work out since it is in our neighborhood, but each time leave thinking it might be a while before we come back. Food seems to sit "in the window" for a while before being expedited to the table - clues like a glaze over the top of a steak from heat lamps, or a "soggy" hamburger bun confirm this. Lastly, if a beer is on your menu and I am pointing to it, don't tell me you don't carry it (if you are a place that prides itself on a beer place).

  • Holly W.

Hop Jack's is such a great family restaurant in the neighborhood. They're kid friendly, have a ton of big screens for my husband to watch sports, a good bar and basically just something for everyone! I always get the Patty Melt and on the menu it even says that others have said it's the best they've had...well I love patty melts so I get one whenever I try a new place and it's on their menu. I must say, Hop Jack's is one of my faves! They use a medium rye so not super dark, the beef is well seasoned and juicy. Just delicious! They also give you the option of homemade potato chips, fries or tots. It's great to be able to have options :) My only reason for 4 stars is that it's not knock your socks off, "OMG" good, but again is still delicious! We'll definitely be back!

I wanted to write an update because my family and I decided to give this place another chance. The two times we have gone back the service has been outstanding an the food delicious. My favorite are the street tacos and any variety of their cool drinks served in glasses made of ice. I'm glad we gave it another chance as this is now one of our favorite local places to eat out.

I've been here quite a few times, at least once every time I come home to visit my folks in Klahanie. Hop Jack's fits something that has sorely lacked in this area forever - a late night restaurant/bar outfit. The first time we wandered in (after staring suspiciously what it was initially) it was happy hour. The HH food menu has quite a variety and we were satisfied with a BBQ Chicken quesadilla & cheese sticks. Even though it was late night, we had quick and polite service. Plenty of beer on taps too! I'm from PDX so seeing a wider variety anywhere is super & I was happy to see a hometown favorite in the Lagunitas IPA. Served cold, just like I think a beer should be** I came back again for dinner. I myself went with a hummus plate, and around the table was fish tacos, fish & chips and the BBQ quesadilla again. I thoroughly enjoyed my hummus with chips, pita bread and veggies. I sampled both the fish tacos & fish and chips and was shocked - lightly breaded, crisp and just freaking good. I quickly envied those entrees immediately. Service again was good - it was hopping for early on a Thursday but we were well treated by everyone who helped us out. My family loves this place & I know we'll be back! **I hate to comment on other reviews, but being a snob about beer temperature & use your review to lecture people makes me wonder why you don't just brew and serve your own beer. Don't one star a place because of this alleged slight when it's not even a brewpub. GOODNESS.

I have breakfast there on occasion, and the food/service is really good. Recommend it if you're up there.

Definitely not worth it. News flash for the management: the near-frozen beer gimmick may work in other parts of the country, but in the Northwest where people actually have a clue about beer...not so much. Combine that with the mediocre food, brainless staff, and wafts of scorched food emanating from the kitchen and you have a pretty crummy combination. For good beer, just drive the extra 5 minutes to Pine Lake Alehouse.

  • Carmen O.

Look, if you want decent chain food that is consistent with a great staff, this is the place. The staff is always super nice, management attentive, and the food is consistent. Their burgers are great and they have the turkey substitute as an option for all of them. Their weekend breakfast is also great, especially with a peppered Bloody Mary. I also Love their Icy Cups, which are literally made of ice and their rotating seasonal tap beer, which is also from a selection of delicious local brews. Great neighborhood joint.

  • Joseph S.

Great food but they are a restaurant/bar and serve Pepsi... Who asks for a whiskey Pepsi? No-one, that's who. Sell coke for 5 stars!

  • Beau R.

Good spot for breakfast in an area with a dearth of breakfast places. I've been here twice now, for breakfast after Sunday youth sports. The service has always been friendly and kept my coffee cup filled. The menu has the normal breakfast combinations that come from eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage and potatoes, as well as nice french toast and a pancake offerings. Come here hungry, as the portions are good sized.

Nice place and atmosphere servers attentive but food is denny's quality. Avoid things perfected at hopjacks as they are worse then originals :s Disappointed as was hoping for food food...

It is so crazy to think that this used to be Blockbuster! The drink specials for Happy Hour are the main reason we come here. The icy lemon drops are really tasty along with a great selection of beers. My family enjoys the BBQ chicken quesadilla and i enjoyed the Cesar salad. The menu is pretty overpriced for what you get, and service can be hit or miss. Nice to have in the neighborhood, but I'm sure the RAM has hurt their business because it's nearly empty whenever we go in.

Really just ok! Nothing was that good, nothing that bad. Actually the French Dip was tasteless, and their rendition of Fajitas I could do at home, no sizzle!!!

Freezer to microwave to plate. Seriously my 9 year olds make better food. If it weren't for the convenience I would never come here, ever. Avoid unless your stove is broken at home. Cold lifeless moz sticks, super soggy chicken on the salad and a horrible - absolutely horrible mojito!! Seriously for that kind of money that really ticketed me off. (It was my wife's though I tired it) and she said mine At home was better and I make a pretty mediocre mojito!

The main redeeming quality is its location, as there are not many other options on the south end of the Plateau. Service: A bit inattentive and confused. Our waitress stopped by sporadically and not really in rhythm with anything. Example: stopped by while our beers were half full but didn't see her again until after our glasses sat empty for 5-10 minutes. Same thing on the end of our meal, stopped by as we were finishing but didn't see her or the bill until ~10 minutes of sitting with empty plates on the table. Food: Mediocre and very controlled. Friends recommended we try the Chicken Quesadilla, tasted ok but when I opened it up I realized it was mostly grilled onion with very little chicken. Also had the Oriental Chicken Salad and despite the menu saying it had "a chicken breast" it was actually a 1/2 of a breast, meaning they took a half breast, filleted it, and served only one half of the fillet. Beer: I understand it's their gimmick, but you don't serve Ales at "ice' temperatures. And no, I'm not going to wait around for my beer to warm up... and go flat. Haven't been back as we'd rather drive a few minutes for better food, service and beer knowledge.

Happy hour ROCKS! Very happy these guys came to town, before them there was nothing in our little neck of the woods. We've only been a handfull of times but it's almost like Cheers. The bartenders (Cassie and Micka) are awesome, friendly and knowledgable. Talented at their craft they are. There are also some pretty cool HH regular customers, so between the two it's a good stop. Burgers are beyond delicious!

  • Lisa D.

I'm always a little wary when a place touts their beer as "the coldest" since some beers do not taste their best when cold. Regardless, the beer here was pretty good. They also serve a cocktail that comes in a glass made of ice, in several different flavors, that was a big hit with our table. The French onion soup was excellent, really good flavor. Steaks came slightly overdone. Service was okay, nothing stood out one way or the other.

Great service! Food is OK, for bar food. Hubby ordered a sandwich and fries, it was good. I ordered a $15 steak salad, it was decent, a bit on the pricey side, for the serving size. Got the fried pickles, they were bomb! If you are looking for a local bar, with decent food, look no further Klahanie peeps, Hop Jacks is here!

Review is on my first visit of this place since I've only been one time so far. Positives: Excellent lemonade, complete with fresh lemon and mango, yum! Super cold beer Crisp and delicious fries Convienent location Negatives: Waitress had an attitude (although was not outwardly rude to us, still annoying) Burger had good flavor, but was so juicy it soaked threw my bun, and pretty much fell apart when I picked it up, gross. Teeny bopper soundtrack playing overhead complete with Miley Cyrus and Kesha, UGH. Overall in OK experience. Not an amazing first impression, but not so horrible that I won't be back. Oh, and I saw someone else's comment that they smelled burning food in the back during their visit. Not sure if we went on the same night maybe, but I also smelled something burnt during our dinner....hm.

This place is GREAT...food, service and drinks are all GREAT...you have to have the mac n cheese and lemon drops in the ice glass...we had raspberryn and they were great!!!

  • Justin K.

Overall, not bad. Prime rib sandwich is pretty good; mango lemonade is too sweet (and the "real" fruit tasted like plastic but it's a garnish...). Chicken tender salad was maybe 3.5/5 and they ran out of hard boiled eggs. The music soundtrack was the highlight of the meal (yes, it was that good). We'd say this place is slightly better than Red Robin: food is on par, service was better, cleaner and more relaxed environment (lighting, music, more adult feeling). We'll be back eventually.

Disappointed, food took over twenty five minutes, water took close to ten minutes. Ordered a flat iron steak and the iron part wasn't even hot to the touch. Might try again later after they have a chance to work the kinks out.

Not really sure why I'm giving 2 stars... Maybe because the server was funny. The food was terrible "not satisfying". We felt like we needed something more so we ordered dessert and that to was a disappointment. Usually if the food is good you don't need dessert. I get kind of upset if I can cook the dish better than it tastes at the restaurant. I'm gonna have to say I won't be back for a second round.

The service was awful. It was really terrible. I will never go back, even if someone paid me too. First off, we were seated at 1:30pm on a Saturday. It was not crowded. Now I know why. First, Waitress didn't bring our drinks. Then she comes back and forgot. We sat there and sat there. Then, the waitress comes back at at 2:05 (35 minutes later to tell us she forgot to put our food order in. Can we reorder? Seriously? Okay. My husband and I were patent, gave her the order, she said she would send it back. Second, my food and my husband's food comes out at 2:25 pm. Our 12 year old daughter was with us. The manager or someone from the back comes out, and is laughing and said "You won't believe this but we dropped the food and will need to make it again." Seriously? At this point, it was getting silly. We weren't laughing but the waitress and manager were. I'm glad they found humor in the botched service. My daughter's food came out at 2:45pm, too hot, since it just came out and they told her to let it cool down. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, my daughter can eat after being seated. BTW - we had no extra napkins or drink refills. This is the first time we haven't left a tip, it was so awful. Last night, my husband left a $30 tip at the Issaquah Brewhouse for 2 sandwiches, an app and beers. We always tip but this was such a poor experience that we will never return.

What's the food like? Think: "Chili's to Go" at the airport Wow. What a missed opportunity this place is. The location is a perfect place (Klahanie is a captive community with lots of families) for a lower priced, family friendly eatery. But man, is the food horrible. I'm not positive, but based on what we had and what's on the menu, the most used item in the kitchen is a microwave. You won't find any healthy or fresh fresh food on the menu...pretty much whatever isn't fried seems like it was reheated from frozen. It's pretty much like eating at a Chili's To Go at the airport. For all the hype on the beer, I have to say it tasted good and cold, but the "pint" glasses were, ah, 7/10ths scale in size. Overall, really disappointed and won't be going back.

All the people who know I love beer who live in Klahanie keep telling me I have to go here. So, the bartender told me as I sat down they have "The coldest beer in the state" and pointed out the ice caked tap towers. And you've lost me already. Actual beer shouldn't be ice cold. The Rolling Rock, Bud Light and Coors light should be. Ice cold hides that they taste only vaguely like beer water. An ice cold Hop Czar kills off the flavors and all the esters of yeast and malt and hop oil. So reviewing while I wait for my beer to warm to even a slightly acceptable temperature. So your gimmick is, "We don't really care about quality beer and we assume our customers don't know either." Beer lovers, beer advocates, stay away. If you brought a wine drinker a nice botttle of red at 45 degrees with frozen tumbler glass they know you don't have a clue what you're doing. So why treat beer drinkers like that? Update: I wouldn't be that harsh about the beer thing if they didn't market themselves as Hop Jacks, implying they know about beer, use hop harvesting art around the place, pretend that the Yakima harvest is part of their inspiration. They're marketing a superior beer establishment while treating the product like crap. If this was a Red Robin, I'd comment that they have a good selection and move on.

Definitely a fan of this place. The atmosphere is basically what you would expect for a restaurant/bar located in a suburban strip mall. Which is fine since it's in a space that was once one of the last surviving locations of Blockbuster Video. I've been here several times, both during the day and at night, when it was packed, and when it's been nearly empty. I've had excellent, friendly service every time I've been in and would now expect that trend to continue. Granted, I also almost always sit in the bar area since I don't have kids and hate waiting for a table. Beer, mixed drinks, food. That's what they do here. There's a great beer selection and the all the food I've had so far is was delicious. I haven't had one of their signature cocktails yet, but I'm not really big on mixed drinks more complicated than a martini or Manhattan. Foodwise I've tried a few different things, among them: A cup of french onion soup and a side ceasar salad - Had this a few times for lunch. Quick, easy, delicious. The French onion soup is actually very good, and something that I'll definitely be seeking out when the weather is cold. Grilled Chicken Club - I really liked this, loads of flavor, juicy chicken, crispy bacon, some cheese and a bunch of fresh veggies in a garlic tortilla. Had it with the Hop Jack's potato chips, which are exactly what you expect they would be. Fresh potato chips. Onion Burger - Oh wow... This thing not only lives in flavor town, but it's married to the mayor. The carmelized onions are almost like an onion jelly, so good, so very very good. Beer. I like beer. I like cold beer on a hot day. The beer here is served extememly cold, which definitely goes against my better instincts when it comes to flavorful beers. However, through several years of drinking many beers, in many places, at many times I've come up with an amazing solution to this problem.... Wait. That's right, wait. When your attentive server brings you a beer so cold the condensation is freezing to the outside of the glass, just hold on a damn minute or two. Talk to your friends, or lacking those, stare at your phone. I promise the beer will warm up, trust me, I've done this before. If you're absolutely certain you won't be able to wait even a second to avoid brain freeze, order a beer that's good when really cold. Like Rolling Rock, they have it on tap.

Please stop removing my review This restaurant is by far one of the worst ones around. So disappointing. Excited to see it open in Issaquah. Have gone a few times. The food and service have gone downhill significantly each time. One of the biggest problems is the OUT OF CONTROL KIDS and THEIR PARENTS. Their parents do nothing and when complaints are made to the server and management they just say"yeah I know". I asked to have a manager come address kids and parents in the area I was sitting and they would do NOTHING. This made our time there miserable. The management and staff think it is funny. How funny will it be when you go out of business and continue to lose customers. I blame the management as much as the parents and kids. This restaurant has no respect for decent customers. We also saw a couple sliding their kid back and forth on the table top in a diaper. How disgusting!!!! I pointed this out to our server. She just said "yuck" and walked away. This is a heath violation. You can also get your other customers sick from this type of "HOPJACK-Acceptable" behavior. Do us all a favor and rename yourself CHUCKY CHEESE. That is the clientele you seem to cater to. I will never be back.

You name it, Hop Jacks can fry it. A full litany of items made available to you from their copious vats of frying oils. Yes, you should know what you are getting yourself into when the restaurant comes from the founders of Red Robin, but one can hope for slightly better as one of the few options in the Khlahanie area. Not everything is fried, you can order burgers intertwined with a bit of gristle. I am not being harsh; I am just being honest based on dining at Hop Jacks several times based purely on proximity and convenience. If I had set my expectations lower, I would have been pleased, but I do want to slightly enjoy my food rather than think well it was easier than cooking a meal myself. I will say that the Hop Jacks staff has always been fantastic whether accommodating large groups or just getting items for kids to the table quickly. You go to Hop Jacks out of desperation and proximity--not really a good basis for your decision.

This was a fairly nice place; I will definitely give it another try in the future. Our server was attentive and personable. The food was fairly priced and prepared quickly. I enjoyed the food, but it wasn't anything phenomenal. It's still a new restaurant, so the place was very nice and clean. They have decent happy hour specials. They have some of my favorite beers on tap - definite bonus.

Very happy to report that both the service and the food have improved at Hop Jack's over the past few months. We went this evening for their $3/pint New Tap Tuesday, and enjoyed a couple of Double Rainbows from Iron Horse Brewery. We tried several new food items tonight. According to our server, they were just added today, and were on a separate menu: - Honey Chipotle Boneless Wings - Edamame - Bruschetta - Goat cheese dip Everything tasted perfect, and the service was top-notch. My only suggestion to management, if they're reading, would be to improve the toast-to-dip ratio on both the bruschetta and the cheese dip. We had dip leftover, but nothing to eat it on. They've also added some new flatbreads that we'll have to try on our next visit. Glad to see this place steadily improving; we'll definitely be back soon!

I was excited when this restaurant opened since it is simple fare and good for families. We tried this place three times since we wanted it to work and each time was a disaster. The service is consistently less than desirable. Wait staff young and lacks courtesy. 1) I am a vegetarian and I ordered the veggie burger. They served me a meat hamburger and I bit into it assuming my order was correct. When I informed the waiter, he rolled his eyes. 2) The second time was the worst. I found hair in my food. Need I say more? 3) We went there for breakfast assuming dinner was a bust. Toast was burnt, eggs were not fully cooked and my son's order was wrong. We never said anything since we knew we were done with this place. If they want to stay in business long-term, I suggest they get their act together. I know several families who have had similar experiences and vow never to return. They have a good thing going there based on location since it is only restaurant serving American food. They blew it with either arrogance and/or bad business skills.

First off I was really excited to have a place in Klahanie to go to and drink some good beer. Well the beer is ruined! It comes out wayyyyyy too cold. Someone has already said this, but if you make beer too cold it ruins it. If you are getting a Bud or a Coors then it doesn't really matter, but if you order and Hop Villan or a Mens Room Red then it pretty much kills the taste. It kinda just tastes like the beer has freezer burn which is sad. I have only had bad service once so far. I took over an hour for our food to get out and our waitress was kinda weird. She just didn't seem to pay attention very well. Granted they noticed that our table wasn't turning so they offered to fix the problem and we got desert on the house. I thought that was nice and they at least saw the issue. On to the food. Its pretty good and better then anything else in Klahanie. Hopefully this place will kill off Chans! I have gotten a couple of their burgers and you can't really go wrong. The salads are good as well. Oh if you are looking for a breakfast place then its pretty darn good. The Slam is awesome and the Corn beef Hash is good too. Cheers... If your are looking for a casual place to eat up near Klahanie then give this place a shot.

For a family place, its decent and the few times i've been there the sevice has been good, although the last couple times i've been there the kitchen was a little slow which makes it hard if you're with small children. I always get the flat iron steak sandwich which is delicious and gooey, last time it seemed like they put in less steak, which was disappointing. Otherwise it's std pub fare which is not out of this world but i give it 3 stars because you can take small kids here comfortably.

Tried it out for the first time tonight. Pros - friendly atmosphere, excellent service Tara I think her name was and I liked the decor of the place. Our Steak fajitas were GREAT! My husband and I split them. Kids Corn Dog meal was good. Food was quick. Cons - Womens bathroom door to the stall swings inward, made it difficult for me to get out. Nachos were good, but not worth the price, I expected fresh jalepenos, but they were canned and the beef on it was very scarce. Was brought out ice cold tortillas, kitchens fault on that one. Menu is limited, feels like red robin in a sense and the food didn't seem to have a lot of freshness to it. Lots of processed starchy meals, but then again its definately not fine dining. Will come back to check out the bar area, that looked nice

cheeseburger was pretty damn good, so was the "Big Juan" which is a grilled cheese, then a bacon burger inside, or something. Bloody Mary was ok, service was ok. Kids get a little cray there. I'll be back.

I have been to this place now three times now. The first experience was pretty good, the food was great, service was near perfect and it was well priced. The second time was not as good as the first time service wise, but the food was good. However the last time was a joke. When a restaurant is new such as this one, it starts off great, then it begins to slip. That is the stage that this restaurant is at this point. What the real proble is in experience and it shows. I had worked in restaurants as a teen into my early 20s and worked my way up from a dishwasher to a lead waiter so I understand all aspects of the business, as well as understand the ups and downs of the service side, and if anything I am overly generous with tips and patience with waiters. My wife and I went there on Labor day to enjoy the last part of the three day weekend. When we arrived the restaurant side was busy and we were asked to sit in the bar which was not. Several minutes after being seated our waitress (Taylor B.) arrived to tell us about the drink specials. Once she figured out we were not there to drink, we became basically invisible. Our food arrived after 30 minutes and was cold, and not even delivered by Taylor. All the while we tried several times to get her attention as she bounced between the few tables that were drinking, and never made eye contact with us or acknowledged when we waved at her. About 15 mintues after our food arrived, she did stop to say she was sorry the food arrived late, but we were almost done at that point. Finally about 10 minutes after we finished our meal, she returned to remove the plates, and was in such a hurry to finish with us, she dropped the pile of plates on the table, and then never came back to wipe any of it up! The one thing I really can't stand is when wait staff sucks up to you at the end, and I have to say she knew she blew it and didn't try - she just said "thanks" dropped the check on the table and without eye contact, turned and left. As I said above, I am pretty easy going with service, but when a person is treated like that for no reason, its going to be reflected in their tip, and hers was about $2.50 on a $40 tab. As a waiter I had all experiences and always treated everyone the same regardless of the amount of money they spend on their meal and I often got more than the customary. As a customer I am a good tipper and don't require much. Taylor's lack of interest in providing good service to us because we were not drinking is really due to a lack of experience at her position. All that aside the food this time was crap as well. I ordered the "prime rib french dip". If it truely was "prime rib", it was loooong past its prime, and mostly grissle and fat, which was really dissapointing. When the sandwhich was dipped in the au jus sauce and bitten into, the "prime rib" was not willing to let go and when it did, it snapped back and slapped me in the face. Don't think this place will make it if it stays lke this.

I read the reviews on Yelp about the poor service, but decided to gamble and try Hop Jacks anyway. As many others have experienced, the service was abysmal. When we arrived, about 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, there were more employees than customers. We still had to wait for a menu, for the server to take our order, etc. Just general poor attention to the customers. Servers and managers standing around talking to one another, passing by tables multiple times. Food was average. Beer was cold as advertised, but that's the last time we'll patronize Hop Jacks. If you go to sit at the bar just for drinks...you might be safe.

Where are the fried green beans? My sister and I looked up the menu before this location opened and couldn't wait for tempura battered fried green beans...which this one doesn't have. We did finally decide to try the fried zucchini which we did enjoy. We've ventured in here many times and are happy to have a fun place close to home to eat and drink. Have had sketchy service, but did have an excellent experience when we sat at the bar! Fantastic bartender who provided the best service to date! Check him out Thursday - Saturday nights. Food is decent. One time we did get cold fries, but when we complained she immediately took them back and brought us fresh, hot fries, yum!! Icy drinks are fun and only $5 on happy hour. Food is super cheap on happy hour, good selection of appetizers to share. Will definitely keep coming back.

I am not sure why the reviews are so terrible. My husband (who is a huge beer fan) and I decided to check it out since we live in the Klahanie neighborhood. I ordered there claim to fame fresh fruit lemon drop that is served in an ice cup, I thought it was wonderful and ended up having a few more. My husband couldn't have been more pleased with the beer selection. The food was good.... its the typical pub bar food options but it was just how I would of expected. The service was great, food was out fast and the atmosphere was very nice. I recommend checking it out but if your expecting 5 star fancy dinning experience maybe this isn't your place. It is a neighborhood "pub". I will be going back and bringing friends with me to enjoy the tasty drinks:)

This place rocks. This is probably the best bar and grill between North Bend and Seattle. * Beer was advertised as the coldest beer in town, and it was. I enjoyed a delicious frosty Lucille IPA. * Wife ordered margarita - they made it short and strong. Perfect. * Happy hour had a great selection and good prices. The wings were awesome. Chicken Ceasar was a little heavy on dressing, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and my bad for not getting dressing on the side. * Waiter was attentive and friendly. * Plenty of seating. Kid Friendly in the restaurant area. No complaints. Unless something changes, I'll definitely be frequenting this place.

Do not order the Mac and cheese! No taste, greasy and very disappointing. They have tons of staff, but they run around talking to themselves. One waiter fought another waiter to be our server and then totally ignored us. Will not be coming back again.

First time visiting this restaurant. It wasn't very busy. Waiters kept walking by our table. Waited 15 minutes to be waited on or to even get water. Ended up walking out. Gave one star because I couldn't give zero.

Service was completely inept. Drinks were pathetic (especially the margarita) and lacked any consistency in quality. Server was not interested in our experience; just the tip....nor was the host at the front desk - and she certainly didn't care. When asked, we were told the management was not available. The 'Plateau' prides itself on supporting quality organizations - well quite being a bunch of hypocrites and boycott this place. They don't care about you. All they want is your clout and any money associated. I would recommend 'Changs' over our experience this evening.......... That's not saying much (or maybe even the lounge at QFC.....)

we like this addition to the bar scene on the eastside. we are always looking for places with good food and great beer on tap. it was friendly and good service. the beer is served through iced taps which is kind of unique and fun. my only concern was the floors are new and extremely slippery so be careful in heels!

This place is new and we decided to try it. The food is great, the kids menu is pretty standard (super tasty kid's mac n' cheese). Bottomless flavored lemonade! The only downside was there is no waiting area if you have to wait for a table. But we will definitely come back soon! Service was great!
